New Thrilling Black & Street Grey livery for the Multistrada V2 S

New Thrilling Black & Street Grey livery for the Multistrada V2 S, the bike for experiencing the pleasure of travelling every day.

Every journey becomes an unforgettable memory with the Multistrada V2 S, the ideal gateway to enter the Ducati tourer universe. Light, with its full-bodied and usable engine and with high-quality standard equipment, it is a motorcycle born to experience exciting adventures; in addition, it is just at ease in urban use thanks to a refined chassis that ensures a smooth ride and an always-responsive reaction to rider input.

For 2024, the Multistrada V2 S updates the colour range with the new Thrilling Black & Street Grey livery, which joins the classic Ducati Red colour scheme. The livery enhances the sporty spirit of the Multistrada with a colour scheme that alternates the elegance of Street Grey with the energy of the GP19 Red. Completing the look are the red wheel rims and the new graphics of the model name.

An important feature of the Multistrada V2 S is the attention that Ducati engineers have paid to the ergonomics. In fact, the Multistrada V2 S features a 830 mm seat that makes it easy to keep your feet on the ground, and footpegs that ensure the right amount of room even for taller riders. Maximum comfort to experience the emotions of travel every day.

Whether they are long distances or short daily trips, the 937 cc Ducati Testastretta 11° twin-cylinder engine, robust and manageable in any situation, always guarantees riding pleasure. Euro 5 approved, the Testastretta delivers maximum power of 113 hp at 9,000 rpm and maximum torque of 10 kgm at 6,750 rpm.

High-level electronics complete the configuration of the Multistrada V2 S. The package includes ABS Cornering, Vehicle Hold Control (VHC), Ducati Traction Control and the Ducati Brake Light system, which in the event of sudden braking automatically activates the rear light to signal the slowdown. Compared to the standard version, the Multistrada V2 S is also fitted as standard with Cruise Control, Ducati Quick Shift Up & Down (DQS) and a dashboard with 5” colour TFT screen. Present on both the V2 and V2 S models are also the 4 Riding Modes (Sport, Touring, Urban and Enduro), a technology that first appeared on a motorcycle on a Multistrada in 2010.

To make the travel experience of every enthusiast unique, Ducati Performance has created a series of high-quality accessories that enhance both the touring spirit and the urban character of the Multistrada V2 S. All the accessories can be viewed in the ” Configurator” section of the Ducati.com website, where there is also a wide selection of garments designed for tackling long journeys in any weather condition.

In addition to the V2 and V2 S models, the Multistrada family comprises the Multistrada V4, V4 S, V4 Pikes Peak and the latest addition V4 Rally. 2023 is a special year for the entire range: the Multistrada family is in fact 20 years old. Since the first model in 2003, more than 100,000 motorcycles have come out of Borgo Panigale to accompany travellers on their exciting adventures around the world. A range capable of leaving its mark on Ducati’s history, opening new paths and introducing innovative technologies that have helped to raise standards throughout the motorcycling world.

4 Ever Ducati, the 4-year warranty offered by Ducati to all enthusiasts, is valid on the entire Multistrada range, adding 24 months of coverage to the conventional warranty, with no mileage limit.

The Multistrada V2 S is available from £15,395, and is also in a depowered 35 kW version for A2 license holders, an opportunity not to be missed for all young motorcyclists ready to hop on the bike. The Thrilling Black & Street Grey livery will be available in UK Ducati dealerships from July 2023.

Full-Carbon flip-front from LS2

LS2’s popular dual-homologated 180° flip-front helmet now available with 100% carbon fibre shell

Brand new for 2023, the Advant X Carbon brings the versatility and practicality of LS2’s best-selling 180 degree flip-front helmet, with the benefits of a full carbon shell.

Made from 100% high-grade, wide-weave carbon fibre, the Advant X boasts high penetration resistance and energy dispersion, yet remains as light as possible – just 1550 grams. It’s also the only helmet of its type with a full carbon chin bar, which is a major factor in keeping weight down.

Alongside meeting the latest ECE 22.06 safety standard, its certified P/J for use in the open and closed position and the unique opening mechanism keeps the outline compact and neat. The chin bar sits close to the face, so there’s less leverage on the neck and head when opening and closing, and the visor automatically lifts with the chin bar too, for hassle-free operation.

The visor itself is Pinlock-ready and has an intuitive release mechanism for quick and easy removal and refitting. There’s also a drop-down sun visor for instant relief from glare.

Venting front and back, with channelling through the multi-density EPS inner, brings instant airflow when needed. The breathable Comfort Lining is removable and washable, and the cheek pads feature an Emergency Release System.

Practical additions like the Micrometric Metal Buckle make life comfortable on the road too, and the Advant comes – as standard – with a Pinlock insert, spare tinted visor, Helmet Bag, Carrying Rucksack and Air Bag Support, for easy cleaning and maintenance.

The Advant X Carbon retails at just £379.99 in a solid carbon finish, and three graphic options for £399.99.

Lithium batteries – Choose right and it will see you right

Thinking about upgrading to a lithium starter battery? OptiMate, the battery-saving experts, say it’s crucial to choose the right one if you want it to last.

Lithium starter batteries are a popular upgrade from the lead-acid units most motorcyclists are familiar with. However, motorcycle riders report being let down by lithium batteries, even though they take care to maintain them.

The team behind OptiMate battery chargers and maintainers first became aware of the problem after being contacted through social media by increasing numbers of bike owners who’d purchased lithium batteries, only to find them failing with no obvious reason.

The root of the problem is that lithium batteries are specified to match or exceed the CCA or Cold Cranking Amps (the power needed to turn the bike’s starter motor) of the equivalent lead-acid battery. However this results in a lower reserve capacity – measured in Amp hours (Ah) – typically half or less than the lead-acid battery it replaced.

A bike needs reserve capacity for two reasons: to power 12V systems before the engine is running, and when the battery is put under extra strain, during slow, stop-start riding and when running accessories like heated grips or fog lights.

So, to cope with the rigours of everyday riding, the buyer needs to make sure the lithium battery they choose has a high enough Ah reserve capacity: at least half of the 10-hr or 20-hr Ah rating of the lead-acid battery it’s replacing.

As an example, the Yuasa YTZ10S, (a suitable lead-acid battery for the Yamaha MT-09), has a CCA rating of 190 Amps and a 20-hr rating of 9.1 Ah. The lithium replacement would need a rating of at least 4.55 Ah to be able to perform in the same way.

Many lithium replacements advertised for the MT-09 have a similar CCA rating, but a capacity of only 4.0Ah or even less, which is not sufficient to keep all systems running.

If you’re thinking of upgrading to a lithium battery, make sure you do that homework. And remember that lithium batteries discharge faster than lead-acid, so it is important to connect it to a smart charger whenever it’s parked up between rides. OptiMate offer a range of lithium chargers and their Duo range can charge both lithium and lead acid batteries, automatically detecting which type of battery is fitted and maintaining it accordingly.

Powerstage RR Limited Edition: The first carbon-framed Ducati e-MTB

The e-MTB range for 2024 expands with the introduction of the Powerstage RR Limited Edition, Ducati’s most exclusive e-enduro model developed to tackle the most extreme off-road conditions. The name Powerstage, in fact, recalls a new type of special stage recently introduced in the e-enduro circuits which consists in tackling, in addition to the classic downhill stages, a technical uphill route, testing both the skills of athletes competing in the races and the performance level of the vehicle.

Powerstage RR Limited Edition is a concentration of technology and advanced components, defined by eliminating compromises with the aim of offering maximum performance.

The “full carbon” frame has undergone lengthy testing on the toughest routes with a single goal: to guarantee maximum performance in the enduro field. The choices on the arrangement of the carbon layers and on the types of fibre intertwining are the result of FEA (Finite Element Analysis) which allows to identify the points subject to greater stress, which therefore require greater strength. More attention to stiffness has been given to the steering area, the rear chain stay and the engine area reinforced by two ribs (T-Ribs).

On the frame there are many other high-quality functional details, such as the passage of internal cables, protected by a steering stop system (T-Stopper), bearings on the joints, in direct contact with the carbon without the use of bushings and an asymmetrical rear chain stay, which in addition to a captivating design offers better responsiveness and uphill traction.

The geometric solutions adopted make the Powerstage RR extremely fast and stable on the roughest routes. The verticalised 78° seat tube angle allows the rider to assume an optimal position in the saddle on technical uphill sections, and a slack 64° head tube angle helps to overcome any obstacle at top speeds.

The new Shimano EP801 drive unit represents a benchmark for the category and maintains the native characteristics of the EP8: 250 Watts of nominal power and 85 Nm of torque, always delivered with the utmost fluidity and naturalness over a wider cadence range than ever before. The new system features two preconfigured assistance profiles: “long ride”, to favour autonomy on long tours and “fast ride”, to enjoy maximum performance on shorter outings. By means of the “Fine Tune” mode present on the Shimano “E-Tube Project” app, it is possible to create your own profiles thanks to the extensive possibilities for customising the electric assistance. The removable 630Wh Shimano battery is positioned inside the “verticalised” downtube in order to lower the centre of gravity, improving the balance of the bike.

The Öhlins RXF38 m.2 air fork (180 mm travel) and the Öhlins m.2 spring shock absorber with TTX technology (170 mm travel) are fully adjustable in both rebound and compression, at high and low speeds, ensuring precision riding and stability.

The SRAM GX AXS 12-speed wireless rear electronic shifting provides immediate and precise gear-shifts at all times. The Braking First brakes with customised Ducati Corse levers and 203 mm thick 3 mm discs are among the most powerful currently on the market.

The Crankbrothers Synthesis wheels with differentiated format (29” front, 27.5” rear) with variable thickness carbon rims help to further improve steering precision, guaranteeing an excellent weight/strength ratio. The tyres are Pirelli Scorpion Enduro S on the front and Pirelli Scorpion EMTB-S on the rear to offer maximum grip and adherence.

The equipment is completed by a telescopic seat post, a Renthal carbon handlebar and a Fizik saddle with special integrated tool holder.

Giorgio Favaretto, Head of e-Bicycle Business – “Ducati’s pedal assisted bicycle project took shape with the launch of the MIG-RR, the first e-mtb produced in collaboration with Thok E-Bikes. In 2022 the range of E-Bikes has been made even more complete and performing. Today, with the new Powerstage RR, Ducati strengthens its presence in the premium-range e-mountain bike segment, aimed at even more demanding bikers.”

The livery designed by Aldo Drudi in collaboration with the Centro Stile Ducati is inspired by the Desmosedici GP23 of the official MotoGP team, enhancing the unique character of this e-mtb produced in a limited edition of 230 numbered units, a figure that recalls the denomination of the racing bike.

The new Powerstage RR Limited Edition will be previewed in the paddock area during the upcoming German Grand Prix at Sachsenring and can already be ordered from the Ducati dealer network and online at www.ducati.com.

The Borgo Panigale manufacturer is gearing up to welcome all enthusiasts from 21 to 25 June at Eurobike (Frankfurt, Pavilion 8, stand I03) with the 2024 e-Bicycle range.

IAM RoadSmart partners with industry giants in campaign to reduce motorcycle deaths

As the UK’s leading road safety charity, IAM RoadSmart is launching a campaign, in alliance with organisations across the industry, to make the roads safer for motorcyclists and ensure they are consistently recognised as vulnerable road users.

A statement from CEO at IAM RoadSmart, Antony Kildare:

In some respects, the outlook for motorcycling in the UK is a positive one. Industry growth is at 8 per cent*, and motorcycle use has increased by 4 per cent in recent years.

Furthermore, 3 million people now hold a full motorcycle licence in the UK, with 1.4 million of them regularly taking to the road on two wheels. Of these riders, nearly two-thirds use motorcycles for commuting or other practical reasons, while the community of those who ride for pleasure is as strong and as passionate as ever.

And yet, for all the positives of motorcycling, one tragic fact has remained a constant – injuries and deaths. Motorcycle riders account for 1-in-5 (20 per cent) of all deaths on UK roads, and despite only representing 3 per cent of vehicle registrations, they are also sadly involved in nearly 1-in-5 (18 per cent) of all collisions, and account for 13 per cent of all casualties.

As a charity which has enjoyed a long and proud relationship with British motorcyclists since the introduction of the advanced riding test in 1976, and with the committed support of nearly 34,000 members who belong to bike or bike and car groups, IAM RoadSmart is deeply saddened to read these statistics year after year. This rate of collisions, casualties and deaths, quite simply, needs to stop.

Not only have too many lives been lost for too long, but the wide-ranging benefits of motorcycles – whether that be lower emissions, reduced congestion, or more economical costs, could soon be at risk if the importance of motorcyclists continues to go unrecognised.

IAM RoadSmart CEO, Antony Kildare

Determined to drive change, alongside our partner, the NMC (National Motorcyclists Council), I recently attended a ministerial meeting with the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department for Transport, Richard Holden MP, where Mr Holden acknowledged that there was ‘much that needed to be learnt about motorcycling’.

Encouraged by Mr Holden’s receptiveness, I feel optimistic that change on the critical issue of motorcycle safety can finally be made.  This makes now the perfect time for IAM RoadSmart to announce that, in partnership with eminent motorcycle and transport industry bodies, we are calling on parliament to refocus on motorcyclist safety to prevent the disproportionate risks that riders face every day on our roads. As part of this, we are calling for:

  • a recognition of the benefits of motorcycles as a key step towards decarbonisation, and to not apply a ‘one size fits all’ approach to different road users for phasing out fossil-fuelled vehicles,
  • help in making advancements in safety equipment more accessible, by taking VAT off life-saving PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), such as air jackets, similar to what has already been done with helmets,
  • more work in helping improve riding skills, and to foster a culture of safety and employee wellbeing for people who ride for work.

We are calling for change, but more importantly, we are calling for recognition. Maybe then, we will finally see a society where all road users, including motorcyclists, can safely and sustainably use the highways together.

We are proud to stand with our industry partners in calling for recognition for riders:

  • National Motorcyclists Council (NMC)
  • DocBike
  • Helite
  • Mental Health Motorbike
  • BikeTrac

Get ready for the holiday of a lifetime with GIVI

The new 50.7 full face helmet is perfect for the getaways and long trips that are just around the corner.

GIVI, the Italian motorbike and motorcycling equipment company, which celebrates its 45th anniversary in 2023, presents its new 50.7 model helmet. With a thermoplastic shell and ECE 22.06 homologation, which guarantees maximum safety, this helmet also features an advanced ventilation system that ensures rider comfort. This makes it the ideal choice for two-wheeled enthusiasts who are planning routes and trips during the warmer months of the year.

PHOBIA

In 2002 GIVI, the transalpine brand, launched its first helmet with the aim of continuing to make everyday life easier for motorcyclists all over the world. Now, in the midst of celebrating its 45th anniversary, the firm has just presented its new full-face model, with both a sport character as well as one suited to touring: the 50.7. It’s a helmet conceived and designed for those who find their home on the roads and enjoy long routes and even journeys of hundreds (or thousands) of kilometres.

Rebel

The GIVI 50.7 has a thermoplastic shell, available in two sizes, a stainless steel micrometric fastener, and is certified according to the ECE 22.06 European standard, the most recent and demanding standard to date. This means the helmet has passed impact tests with 12 new points, as well as high and low speed tests and the oblique impact test, confirming it as one of the safest helmets on the market.

Rebel

Rider comfort is also guaranteed, thanks to the incorporation of an elaborate ventilation system, consisting of three air intakes (two at the top and one in the chin guard) and two rear extractors, which allow for correct air circulation and, therefore, temperature regulation. It also features a removable nose pad and a specific windshield, as well as a hypoallergenic, removable and washable interior. What’s more, it has an anti-scratch visor and is also prepared for Pinlock® (not included) to ensure perfect vision at all times and in all conditions.

On the outside, it’s sporty, but not as aggressive as the GIVI’s racing models, with a design featuring elegant and sophisticated lines. For now, it’s available in three different graphics (Solid Color – matt black or glossy white, Rebel – black, with details in grey and turquoise or red, and Phobia, black with geometric lines in fuchsia or red and in grey with the lines in black), which will appeal to not only the user with classic tastes, but to those also seeking a more daring design.

Solid

The GIVI 50.7 helmet is available in sizes ranging from XS to 2XL, for 132.90 £ (Solid Color) or 139.90 £ (Rebel and Phobia).

These, and many more GIVI items, provide a boost for motorcycle trips and make any journey on two wheels a more comfortable experience.

Akrapovič Launches Stylish Exhaust for Suzuki V-Strom 800DE

Akrapovič has unveiled its new Slip-On Line (Titanium) exhaust for the Suzuki V-Strom 800DE with a dynamic design that has been specially crafted for Suzuki’s latest adventure motorcycle.

Constructed using race-proven materials, including high-grade titanium for the muffler outer sleeve, a stainless-steel link pipe and muffler inner structure, and a carbon-fibre end cap and heatshield, the exhaust is then finished with special imprints to provide an impressive visual statement. The new carbon-fibre heatshield – which is included in the package – has been designed from scratch to complement the exhaust, and its shape totally covers the link pipe to help protect the passenger gear from heat, making it both practical and stylish.

The focus of the Akrapovič engineers while developing this exhaust was also on the throttle response and rideability of the V-Strom 800DE, with noticeable power gains in the mid and high rpm range. When tested on the Akrapovič in-house dyno, the Slip-On Line (Titanium) produced a power increase of 1.1 kW (1.5 hp) at 6,000 rpm and a torque gain of 1.3 Nm at 6,100 rpm, when compared with a Suzuki V-Strom 800DE equipped with the standard stock system.

Weight has also been reduced through the use of lightweight materials, with the EC/ECE type-approved Slip-On Line (Titanium) delivering a reduction of 23.6% (1.2 kg) over the standard stock V-Strom 800DE exhaust. The dynamic design, lighter weight, and performance increases are complemented by a deep, vivid, and sporty Akrapovič sound, totally befitting the twin cylinder engine.

Iván Cervantes Claims Guinness World Records Title

Iván Cervantes claims Guinness World Records title for the greatest distance on a motorcycle in 24 hours with a Tiger 1200 GT Explorer.

Iván Cervantes, 5x Enduro World Champion and Triumph Global Ambassador, has officially claimed the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for ‘The greatest distance on a motorcycle in 24 hours (individual)’.

Riding a Tiger 1200 GT Explorer on the High-Speed Ring at the Nardò Technical Center in Italy, Iván travelled more than 4012km in a 24 hour period, beating the previous record of 3406km by a huge margin of more than 600km.

The record attempt was witnessed and validated by a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS adjudicator on 30th April 2023, with a final confirmed distance of 4012.53km – a distance equivalent to travelling from London to the Great Pyramid of Giza in 24 hours!

Watch the full story of Iván’s incredible challenge

THE MAN
Iván Cervantes is a 5 times Enduro World Champion, 21 times Spanish Enduro Champion, and 5 times Spanish Motocross Champion. In July 2021, Iván was announced as one of Triumph’s new Off-Road ambassadors, helping to develop the upcoming range of motocross and enduro bikes.

Since joining the Triumph team, Iván has seen great success in riding and competing on Triumph adventure motorcycles, sealing wins at the Baja Aragón, 1000 Dunas Raid, and Basella Maxi-Trail Race.

In preparation for the record attempt, in addition to intensive physical training on his own Tiger 1200 Rally Pro, Iván began carefully planning his nutrition and sleep strategy, in partnership with Professor Andrew Bagshaw at the University of Birmingham.

THE MOTORCYCLE
The motorcycle used for the attempt was a Tiger 1200 GT Explorer, chosen at random from the production line at Triumph’s factory in Hinckley, UK. No special modifications were made to the bike, other than completing the recommended running in and first service schedule before the attempt was undertaken.

The Tiger 1200 family has been designed to deliver the ultimate in adventure bike touring capability, with exceptional comfort and unbeatable character. For the record attempt, features such as the 30 litre fuel tank and excellent wind protection were invaluable in ensuring Iván could continue riding, whatever challenges he encountered along the way.

Heated grips and seats provided additional comfort during the cold early-morning hours and unexpected downpours of rain, while the powerful T-Plane triple engine and advanced electronics provided effortless power and control. High-intensity LED lights ensured Iván always had exceptional visibility when riding, even in the complete darkness of the remote testing facility at Nardò.

Underlining the excellent performance and reliability of the Tiger 1200, the only maintenance required on the bike was a single, planned tyre change half way through the attempt, where the standard fit Metzeler TOURANCE™ Next tyres were refreshed as the rain started and night began to fall.

THE RECORD
The existing GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title of 3406.17km was achieved by American Carl Reese on 26th February 2017, recording an average speed over 24 hours of 141.9km/h.

Riding consistently at speeds of over 200km/h at the Nardò Technical Center in Italy, Iván surpassed the existing record with an incredible 5 hours to spare in the 24 hour window. Not content to simply beat the record, he set his sights on defining a new benchmark for this challenge – 4000km.

In the 5 hours that followed, he proceeded to ride a further 606km – essentially matching the existing record then continuing to ride the equivalent of the width of France in addition.

The record attempt was witnessed by an official GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS adjudicator, who validated the final distance travelled in 24 hours as 4012.53km, with an average speed of 167.79km/h.

QUOTES
Iván Cervantes – ‘The Tiger 1200 GT Explorer was the perfect bike for this attempt. It’s very comfortable to ride for a long time. For sure, the hardest part was the weather, because it started to rain, but this bike has a very big screen and excellent protection, which helped me a lot. It is a very special bike for me. It’s not easy to ride for 24 hours in a row but, in the end, the record is mine with this amazing bike!’

Nick Bloor, CEO, Triumph Motorcycles – ‘Iván’s achievement in taking the Guinness World Records title on the Tiger 1200 is simply incredible! His determination and perseverance have led him not only to beat the existing record, but to add almost 20% to the distance travelled in 24 hours. An outstanding effort, and one that everyone at Triumph is incredibly proud to have supported.’

Victor Fenes, Official Adjudicator, Guinness World Records – ‘I am truly humbled to have witnessed Iván Cervantes’s awe-inspiring achievement of setting the Guinness World Records title for the Greatest distance on a motorcycle in 24 hours (individual). Jools Holland’s 1959 Velocette Venom 500cc For Sale With Silverstone Auctions

The Shuttleworth Motorcycle Sale 30th July

While it is not exactly going for a song, this celebrity bike is a bargain at an estimate of £5,000 to £7,000 says Mark Bryan of Silverstone Auctions who are selling it at the Shuttleworth Motorcycle Sale on July 30th in Bedfordshire.

Jools Holland owned the 1959 Velocette Venom 500cc for 25 years from 1988 to 2013 and it was used by him over the years at numerous events. It is a well-known bike and featured in the Rod Burris book ‘Velocette Motorcycles’.

Built by Velocette as a BSA Gold Star competitor it was one of their best-selling machines. The bike has a 500cc OHV, air-cooled, 34bhp, single-cylinder engine and 4-speed gearbox. It appears to be an older restoration and currently fitted with Rodark panniers.

Some 5,721 of these bikes were produced between 1955 and 1970. In 1961 a factory-prepared Velocette Venom and a team of riders set the 24-hour world record at a speed of 100.05 mph in France. It was the first motorcycle to average over 100 mph continuously for 24 hours.

The bike has not been used for the last few years so may require some recommissioning before road use but the engine turns freely with good compression.

It was bought from Holland by its current owner and comes to auction complete with a handwritten receipt from Jools Holland and a framed photo of Jools Holland sitting on the bike included in the sale.

Jools Holland is a much-loved figure in the British music scene. He is a composer, pianist, bandleader, and broadcaster as well as an enthusiastic motorcyclist. He was awarded an OBE in 2003 for his services to the British music industry.

He was an original member of the band Squeeze and has worked with many artists. From 1982 until 1987, he co-presented the Channel 4 music programme The Tube. Since 1992, he has hosted ‘Later… with Jools Holland’, a music-based show aired on BBC2. Holland is a published author and appears on television shows besides his own.

Exclusive and dramatic new visual designs present a transformative revision of the Harley-Davidson® Grand American Touring platform.

2023 CVO Street Glide and 2023 CVO Road Glide

Iconic Design, Redefined
The new CVO™ Street Glide® and CVO™ Road Glide® models feature stunning new design clearly evolved from the familiar shapes of previous Harley-Davidson® Grand American Touring motorcycles. Both models feature fairings with integrated venting and LED signature lighting with integrated turn signals. Additional design elements include a trimmed front fender, a new 6-gallon fuel tank with a distinctive side bevel, and saddlebags with a three-dimensional shape in harmony with the fairings and fuel tank. The new Combo Cast Laced wheels make a bold custom statement with a black machine-cut cast-aluminum rim and laced spokes. Each model will be offered in two highly detailed finish options.

2023 CVO Street Glide

Pinnacle Performance
The new 121-cubic inch V-Twin Milwaukee-Eight® VVT 121 engine establishes a new benchmark for factory-installed torque and displacement available in a Harley-Davidson® Touring motorcycle and features optimized liquid-cooled cylinder heads with a new cooling system, variable valve timing (VVT), a new intake tract and performance exhaust system.

Every aspect of design that could impact overall performance and the comfort was carefully considered during the development of the CVO™ Street Glide® and CVO™ Road Glide® models. Dry weight has been reduced significantly – by 31 pounds for the CVO™ Street Glide® model and by 35 pounds for the CVO™ Road Glide® model – compared to the models they replace. High-performance front and rear SHOWA suspension components promote confident handling and provide a dramatic improvement in rider comfort compared to previous CVO™ models, with rear suspension travel increased by 50 percent. Premium Brembo™ braking components offer outstanding braking feel and performance for added rider confidence.

For the first time the CVO™ Street Glide® and CVO™ Road Glide® models offer selectable Ride Modes – Road, Sport and Rain – that electronically control a specific combination of power delivery, engine braking, Cornering-Antilock Braking System (C-ABS) and Cornering-Traction Control System (C-TCS) settings.

Aero and thermal comfort are informed by all-new fairings with a “floating” windshield design, and by adjustable air-control vanes. In wind tunnel testing, subjective helmet buffeting is reduced by an average of 60 percent compared to equivalent 2022 models. The new engine cooling system will further improve thermal comfort for the rider compared to previous CVO models.

2023 CVO Road Glide

All-New Infotainment Powered by Skyline™ OS
The CVO™ Street Glide® and CVO™ Road Glide® models introduce an all-new suite of infotainment technology powered by the new Skyline™ OS. Both models feature expanded media storage compartments with a USB-C connection point. A premium, high-performance Harley-Davidson® Audio powered by Rockford Fosgate® Stage II four-speaker audio system is powered by a new 500-watt RMS amplifier.

The CVO™ Street Glide® and CVO™ Road Glide® models will make a U.S. public debut in Milwaukee during the Harley-Davidson Homecoming™ Festival, July 13-16, 2023. Both models will reach authorized Harley-Davidson® dealer showrooms globally in mid-July.
