Get The ‘Full Factory’ Treatment With 2021 HM Quickshifter Stand Alone Blipper Shifter Upgrades

Since its launch in 2019, the innovative HM Quickshifter Stand Alone Blipper Shifter kit has been a must-have accessory for road riders and trackday addicts alike. Now, the Kent-based specialists have upgraded the plug-and-play system to include Pit Lane Limiter and Launch Control features.
When it comes to perfecting your laptime or enhancing your road riding experience, the perfect gearshift is crucial. HM Quickshifter’s ground-breaking Stand Alone Blipper Shifter system offers riders seamless up and down gearshifts.
The easy to install device adds shift and backshift functionality to any bike with ride by wire, irrespective if it already has a shifter or blipper system. Coming in both a ‘Lite’ and ‘Pro’ system, the unique device is available for some of the most popular machines on the market from the likes of BMW, Ducati, Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Triumph and Yamaha.
Packed with an array of features, including an auto-warmup ability that has been designed to control the throttle to warm the engine, constantly monitoring the coolant temperature until the bike reaches a pre-set coolant temperature.
Now, the forward-thinking company is giving the Stand Alone Blipper Shifter further enhancements for 2021. The Pro version will now feature a l ability. These two new features have undergone strict safety checks and will help enhance a rider’’ trackday experience. Updates will be applied automatically to all previous models when owners connect their device to their laptop, once correct software has been downloaded.
Safety is of the highest importance to HM Quickshifter. Utilising the same principles employed in military and aerospace industries, with a ‘mission critical’ design philosophy, HM Quickshifter’s system is totally disconnected from the throttle circuit when not changing gear.
When a shift signal is received, a sub-millisecond-long series of diagnostic functions kick in, and only if they are passed can the quickshifter insert itself into the throttle circuit. First, it sets a ‘deadman timer’, ensuring it will be automatically locked out of the circuit after the change, no matter what happens. Finally, if there are any errors during the shift operation, the quickshifter disconnects itself, logs an error, and switches off till it’s been fixed. So – no matter what happens, your bike is protected from an un-commanded throttle input or engine cut.
HM’s also developing further software updates, including Anti-Wheelie and Engine Brake Control functions to the Pro system. The entire HM setup can be easily programmed via a laptop, allowing regular system upgrades to be applied easily, or can be used with HM’s own colour display unit.
The new Stand Alone Shifter Blipper (SABS) is priced at just £500 for the Lite version and £600 for the Pro model (all prices plus VAT).

HM Quickshifter Set To Revolutionise Racing And Trackday Experience

HM Quickshifter Set To Revolutionise Racing And Trackday Experience With HM Cloud Data Analysis
HM Quickshifter is set to revolutionise the trackday and racer market with the launch of the high-tech HM Cloud. The Cloud will allow riders to connect their HM M3 Dash (and other HM logging products) and see full data analysis from each session, revealing RPM, throttle position, brake pressure and much more. The system will also allow riders to compare and overlay their track information and lap times with friends and fellow riders around the world through a web browser.
Every year, thousands of motorcyclists across the globe take part in trackdays and competitive events, eager to improve their skills and lap times. HM Quickshifter products have been the go-to solution for top racers and riders alike and now the UK-based company is set to transform the trackday and racing market with its revolutionary new HM Cloud.
HM Quickshifter has a strong heritage of working with race teams around the world and most recently they have partnered with No Limits Racing, helping their large base of grassroots racers develop their skills further.
The new online platform connects with the company’s leading M3 Dash and unlocks a level of data analysis that has never before been available for regular riders. The MotoGP-style of data provides riders in-depth oversight of each session lap by lap, revealing everything needed to improve their performance. With the dash connecting directly to the ECU, the Cloud is able to show;
  • Throttle Position throughout the lap
  • Front and Rear Brake Pressure (with optional brake pressure sensors)
  • Front and Rear Wheel Speed
  • Gear
  • RPM
  • Power Mode
  • Traction Control
  • Speed
  • Temperature
  • Full ECU parameters like fault codes, lean angle, APS, TPS etc
Overlaid on the track map, riders are able to pinpoint the exact differences between each lap; allowing them to work on their performance and reduce lap times. Currently, there are 38 tracks uploaded to the HM Cloud including UK circuits such as Anglesey, Brands Hatch, Cadwell Park, Castle Combe, Croft, Donington Park, Knockhill, Mallory Park, Oulton Park, Pembry, Silverstone, Snetterton and Thruxton. Alongside that, famous circuits around the world such as Almeria, Assen, Daytona, Guadix, Jerez, Misano, Mugello, Phillip Island and Valencia. This list is growing all of the time, but most importantly, the HM Dash will still work perfectly even if the track is not listed. The only difference being that the Start/Finish line and sector position will not be the same, however this does not affect the data logging or lap timing.
The HM Cloud is all fully automatic meaning when a rider turns the bike on, anywhere in the world, the data logging, track mapping and data analysis aspects will work immediately. It will even auto recognise different layouts of the same track.
The HM Cloud is completely free to sign up to and the user-friendly dashboard allows riders to check out their own performance at each circuit as well as see an overview of the overall best lap times from every registered user. Designed to be more than just a performance tool, the HM Cloud is a social platform too – allowing users to connect with friends so they are able to chat online and compare data. They can even race each other around the same track that has been data logged with an HM logging product.
Designed to be as simple to upload as possible, riders need to download HM Trackside to their computer, then when the USB stick from the M3 Dash is plugged in the session information will automatically upload. This means riders are able to view their performance after each and every session whilst still at the track.
Whilst still in its early stages, the HM Cloud will be expanding over the coming months to include far more intuitive access for riders; including the ability to gain cutting-edge advice from race engineers and technicians from around the world’s paddocks. This unique feature will allow riders to book time with genuine British Superbike, World Superbike and MotoGP staff who will be able to analyse their data and identify areas for improvement.
The HM Cloud system is now live and available for use at www.hmdash.com whilst for more information on HM Quickshifter and their products, visit www.hmquickshifter.com.

When you are working with LED you will get a lot of attention, which is necessary when you want to help market yourself out there.

Ahead of the 2019 race season, HM Quickshifter is excited to launch its innovative LED Pit Board. The two row board features adjustable, high visibility LED lights which have been tested to ensure clear vision no matter the conditions. With a full QWERTY keyboard on the reverse side, lap timer and five memory settings, team members no longer need to worry about trying to get the right numbers into a traditional board before the rider completes the lap. HM Quickshifter Launches ‘STAND ALONE’ Blipper Shift Kit

HM Quickshifter launches a new Stand Alone Blipper Shifter kit for selected Yamaha, Honda, Kawasaki and Triumph models as the ultimate high-performance upgrade for your bike, with some exciting extra functions available!

The quickshifter is perhaps one of the coolest electronic upgrades on modern bikes. A full-spec ‘up and down’ shifting system can make a huge difference to your performance and the riding experience – on road and track. And now British firm HM Quickshifter is launching a whole new range of quickshifter / auto blipper kits, aimed at giving riders the very highest level of shift assistance – as well as some very special additional functions.

The new kits are available in two versions – ‘Lite’ and ‘Pro’. The Lite kit has a an adjustable shifting and back shifting program and simple plug-and-play install, while the Pro kit adds on a pitlane speed limiter and super-trick auto-warmup function, usually seen in high end motorsports including Formula One as well as fully configurable programs for shifting, back shifting (auto blipping), warmup and Launch Control.

The auto-warmup system controls the throttle to warm the engine, while constantly monitoring the coolant temperature, until the bike reaches a pre-set coolant temperature (set to 80°C as standard). The HM shifter’s control unit keeps oil pressure optimised, and uses less-aggressive throttle blips at lower temperatures, intelligently bringing your high-performance engine up to working temperature at the perfect rate. This auto warmup is fully programmable up to 50 different throttle inputs in three different temperature ranges – all fully configurable.

One vital, often-overlooked, factor in quickshifter design is safety. There are two potential failure pathways – a quickshifter might cut engine power unexpectedly, or the blipper could ‘kick in’ at the wrong time – or worse – hold the throttle open. Any of these could cause an accident, and HM employs a ‘fail-safe’ approach to its shifter design that makes such failures theoretically impossible.

The HM ECU uses principles employed in military and aerospace industries, with a ‘mission critical’ design philosophy, and is totally disconnected from the throttle circuit when not changing gear. When a shift signal is received, a sub-millisecond-long series of diagnostic functions kicks in, and only if they are passed can the quickshifter insert itself into the throttle circuit. First, it sets a ‘deadman timer’, ensuring it will be automatically ‘locked out’ of the circuit after the change, no matter what happens. Finally, if there are any errors during the shift operation, the QS disconnects itself, logs an error, and switches off till it’s been fixed. So – no matter what happens, your bike is protected from uncommanded throttle inputs or engine cuts of any kind.

HM’s also developing a next-level software update, which will bolt on Launch Control, Anti-Wheelie and Engine Brake Control functions to the Pro system. The entire HM setup can be easily programmed via a laptop, allowing regular system upgrades to be applied easily, or can be used with HM’s own colour display unit.

HM has a unique ‘in-depth’ design philosophy, where its shifter units communicate directly with your bike’s ECU. That’s how it’s able to make the perfect up and down-shifts, and is why HM can add so many extra functions, above and beyond the shifting task. That philosophy makes the HM Standalone Blipper Quickshifter a great way to add all-new riding aids to your bike.

The Standalone Blipper is currently available for the following bikes, with more on the way:

Yamaha MT10 2016 –on
Yamaha R1 2015 – on
Yamaha R6 2017 – on
Triumph 765 2017 – on
Kawasaki ZX10R 2017 – on
Honda CBR1000RR 2017 – on (LITE only)
New models are added frequently and if you have a model that is not listed, call HM and they will add it to the list.

The new Stand Alone Shifter Blipper (SABS) is priced at just £500 for the Lite version and £600 for the Pro model.

BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team Choose All-new HM Quickshifter-Auto Blipper For 2019

The SMR run BMW Motorrad WorldSBK squad of Tom Sykes and Markus Reiterberger have chosen the all-new HM Quickshifter-Auto Blipper for the upcoming 2019 World Superbike season. Running on the brand new BMW S1000RR, the cutting-edge unit will provide the team with more accurate and consistent gearshifts as well as being fully adjustable for sensitivity. It is now also the official product recommended by BMW Motorrad.

The new-look BMW Motorrad WorldSBK team of Tom Sykes and Markus Reiterberger kicked off their 2019 World Superbike campaign earlier this week with a test on the all-new BMW S1000RR at Jerez. Alongside giving the new machine its 2019 debut, the duo also became the first World Superbike team to utilise the new HM Quickshifter-Auto Blipper.

Developed as a direct replacement for a traditional ‘up and down’ Quickshifter, which in many cases can be unreliable, the HM unit utilises an ultra-sensitive Strain Gauge; meaning no moving parts that could cause a mechanical failure. Providing both riders with more accurate, slicker and consistent gearshifts will enable them to drop lap times knowing exactly what their gear changes will be like, lap after lap. The unit is also fully adjustable for sensitivity, meaning the riders can set it up exactly to their preference. Alongside being a technical partner to BMW Motorrad, the new HM Quickshifter-Auto Blipper has been chosen as an official recommended product for the S1000RR.

The Quickshifter-Auto Blipper made its racing debut last season, helping power fellow BMW rider Keith Farmer to the prestigious Pirelli National Superstock 1000 Championship title. The unit was also successfully used by the Mototech Yamaha Endurance World Championship team as well as the Reactive Parts Ducati V4S raced by Steve Heneghan at the Macau Grand Prix.

It is not just top race teams who will notice the benefit of the Quickshifter-Auto Blipper however, as road riders will also notice a more accurate feel going both up and down the gearbox. Developed as a simple ‘plug and play’ device, it fits directly into the existing Quickshifter port on modern Superbikes and is suitable for both road or race gear patterns as well as both standard and aftermarket rearsets.

HM Quickshifter General Manager Ben Varley explained “We’re really excited that the BMW Motorrad WorldSBK team has chosen to use our HM Quickshifter-Auto Blipper for their 2019 season. We proved last year that it can help riders not only cut those all-important lap times but also provide them with reliable, predictable gearshifts lap after lap.

With two world class riders and the brand new BMW S1000RR, we’re sure it will be a fantastic season for the team and look forward to celebrating their success!”

HM Quickshifter-Autoblipper Developed For Latest ‘Smart’ Superbikes

HM Quickshifter, the world-renowned leader in gear shift technology, has developed a cutting edge ‘Quickshift-Auto Blipper’ for the latest generation superbikes for more accurate and consistent gearshifts.

Although the system can have a significant effect on racetimes for both racers and trackday addicts, road riders can enjoy also a slicker, more accurate feel going both up and down the gearbox, shift after shift!

The HM Quickshifter Auto Blipper was proven in the red-hot competition of the Pirelli National Superstock Championship this year by the Tyco BMW team, helping Keith Farmer to a hard-fought title.

Developed as a direct replacement for bikes which have an ‘up and down’ quickshifter as original equipment, the HM version offers vast improvements over the OE fitment. The crucial difference is the use of an ultra-sensitive ‘strain gauge’, as opposed to the simple OE switch and spring.

The OE systems have in many cases been shown to be unreliable, whereas the HM unit has no moving parts for mechanical failure. Riders of all levels also report a lack of ‘feel’ for positive upshifts and downshifts losing much of the benefit of a quickshifter while the replacement HM unit is fully adjustable for sensitivity.

Developed to simply ‘plug and play’, the device fits directly into the existing Quickshifter port meaning the unit could not be easier to install. Suitable for both road or race (standard or reverse direction) gearshifting, it also fits both standard and aftermarket rearsets.

Alongside Tyco BMW, the HM Quickshifter- Auto Blipper has been successfully utilised by the Mototech Yamaha Endurance World Championship team and Steve Heneghan on his Reactive Parts Ducati V4S.

HM Quickshifter General Manager Ben Varley explained “We’re excited to be able to offer the benefits of HM Quickshifter ‘strain gauge’ technology to riders of the most sophisticated superbikes and exceed the qualities of the original equipment. Racers can save tenths every lap, trackday riders can concentrate on their lines whilst road riders can enjoy smoother gear changes and maximise their riding enjoyment, so it’s a ‘win-win’ for all types of riders!”

Available from £366 (inc VAT) the HM Quickshifter- Auto Blipper is available for the following machines with an ever-growing application list, to complement the full range of ‘normal’ HM Quickshifters:

BMW S1000RR (2015 on)

Ducati 1299 Panigale (2016 on)

Ducati V4 (2018 on)

Honda CBR1000RR (2017 on)

Kawasaki ZX10R (2017 on)

Suzuki GSXR1000R (2017 on)

Yamaha YZF-R1 (2017 on)
