Scottoiler to release new Scorpion Dual Injector

As the global leaders in motorcycle chain lubrication we are continually striving for the next innovation, placing great importance on Research & Development.  As such we are delighted to announce the launch of a new Dual Injector dispenser compatible with all Scottoiler chain oilers and to be known as the “Scorpion”. The Scorpion will be presented for the first time at the Motorcycle Live Show in Birmingham.

The Scorpion Dual Injector is an accessory upgrade for all Scottoiler chain lubrication systems. The easy-to-fit and discreet twin feed provides enhanced oil delivery to both sides of your chain. Replacing the standard dispenser it works by feeding oil simultaneously to both faces of the sprocket through its unique twin feed pincer nozzles. This precise application ensures an even distribution of oil onto both sides of the chain via the sprocket. The more precise application can result in an even cleaner transmission, less oil use and increased intervals between refills.

The Scorpion uses our new Multiform Dispenser Mount, utilising high quality super-adhesive tape that sticks to all surfaces and provides an easy and effective solution for mounting the Scorpion. The new Multiform Dispenser Mount can be bent and cut in various ways giving the Scorpion the versatility to be fitted to nearly all swingarm types and in different orientations allowing for compatibility with a greater number of different makes and models.

In addition, the new mounting bracket can be easily adjusted, re-positioning the Scorpion pincer nozzles to accommodate chain adjustments. Once fitted to the bike the Multiform Dispenser Mount has adjustability for forward and rearward movement, this means as the chain is adjusted the Scorpion can be moved the same amount so that the nozzles always sit perfectly on the sprocket.

The Scorpion is supplied with small straight pincer nozzles as standard, giving a very neat and effective application. Also supplied are longer pincer nozzles that may be required for some bikes with toe guards such as the Honda Africa Twin.

Technical & Business Development Director, Chris Simpson commented,

“We are excited to be able to bring the Scorpion Dual Injector to the market. This accessory provides an upgrade for all Scottoiler systems, enhancing oil delivery through the precision of the dual feed. The new mounting bracket means it is super easy to fit and flexible enough to work with the majority of bikes, so it really is a great upgrade for Scottoiler customers.”

The Scorpion will retail at £24.99 and is available to pre-order now. It will also be available through our extensive distributor and dealer network worldwide. To find your nearest dealer click here.

Scottoiler launch new xSystem electronic chain oiler

Motorcycle chain lubrication specialists Scottoiler are to launch a new electronic chain oiling system – the xSystem. The highly anticipated new product will be officially released through Scottoiler’s global distribution network from Monday 30th April.

The xSystem is Scottoiler’s easiest to install and most user friendly system to date. It features a revolutionary new design that offers user friendly features, such as one touch adjustment, in a compact package that provides optimal chain lubrication for all riding conditions.

Sales & Marketing Director, Nick Muddle commented,
“We are very excited to be bringing another new product to the market. The xSystem is a new electronic chain oiler that perfectly fills the gap between our flagship mechanically operated vSystem and our premium eSystem. The xSystem provides customers with another option for how to deal with chain maintenance that is without doubt our best fit and forget solution yet. Initial orders through our distribution network have been very encouraging and it is an exciting time for everyone at Scottoiler”.

The xSystem uses a micro-processor and triple axis accelerometer to ensure your chain is lubricated automatically with minimal rider input. Installation and setup are simple too, something which will appeal to both dealers and home mechanics alike.

One key feature of the xSystem is the new dispenser design. It uses high quality super-adhesive 3M tape that sticks to all surfaces and provides an easy and effective solution for mounting the dispenser. The new dispenser parts reduce the risk of incorrect installation and the need to use any unsightly cable ties around the swingarm. Compatible with most types of swingarms, left or right transmission systems and even single sided swingarms the new dispenser makes the xSystem installation easy, reliable and discreet.

The xSystem offers 5 different flow rate settings that approximate to 20, 50, 80, 120 and 150 seconds between each pump activation so it can be easily adjusted at the push of a button to provide optimal lubrication whatever the riding conditions. It also has the ability to be switched off when not in use for extended periods or when the bikes goes in for a service. Your settings are stored in the xSystems memory so when reactivated it will continue to maintain your chain to your preference on your next ride.

The xSystem really is so simple to use. Once installed you can easily adjust the flow rate, if conditions deem it necessary, and refilling when needed is straight forward. In turn it will eliminate the hassle of cleaning and lubricating your chain manually, with the low-tack Scottoil making it so much easier to keep your transmission clean. Ultimately the xSystem will significantly extending your chain and sprocket life, saving you money on costly replacements.

Commercial Director Matt Ennen said,

“The xSystem has the potential to be a game changer in the motorcycle world. When showing the initial prototype designs at recent Motorcycle Shows the feedback has been nothing but positive.”

For over 30 years Scottoiler have been the market leaders in automatic chain lubrication. With a global distribution network spanning over 30 countries, Scottoiler are renowned worldwide as the benchmark for motorcycle chain maintenance. The launch of the xSystem is the culmination of an extensive research and development project from the Scottish company as they continue to bring chain lubrication to more and more motorcyclists around the world, having just this year surpassed half a million customers worldwide.

The xSystem is now available to order at www.scottoiler.com and through Scottoiler’s extensive distributor and dealer network. To find your nearest dealer visit www.scottoiler.com/where-to-buy/

Scottoiler celebrate 500k production milestone

Glasgow-based chain lubrication experts, Scottoiler, have announced an historic company milestone with the production of over 500,000 chain lubrication systems for the worldwide motorcycle market.

Invented over 40 years ago by Fraser Scott, the company’s chain oiler devices provide automatic continuous lubrication for motorcycle chains.

After investing almost all his money in the prototype, Fraser initially started selling just a few units from his living room but, as satisfied customers spread the word, he began employing part time bicycle racers.

His daughter, Fiona, took over the reins as Managing Director in 1997 and continued to successfully develop the company’s international profile, a process which culminated in the launch of a partnership with BMW Motorrad in 2010.

Scottoiler now exports into over 40 countries while remaining loyal to its original roots and values. The company develops and manufactures its high quality products at its small factory just north of Glasgow. Despite the growth in the business, all Scottoiler products are still assembled by hand by a dedicated production team with the vast majority of component parts being sourced from UK subcontractors.

Production Manager Stephen Hood said: “While it might be cheaper to manufacture our products in the Far East, Scottoiler has strong values which are based on supporting and contributing to our local community. For that reason, our management team is fully committed to continue producing in the UK.”

Managing Director Fiona Scott Thomson commented: “Reaching the half million production mark is a fantastic milestone for the business and a real testament to the dedication of our staff. They are working hard every day to ensure we can continue to bring quality products to the entire two-wheel community, both in Scotland and overseas.

“The fact that we have been able to create what is a real international success story from our small facility in Scotland with just 20 people emphasises what a terrific achievement it is to reach this latest landmark for the business.”

Scottoiler’s progress was further confirmed with the announcement in December 2017 of an extension to its existing partnership with BMW Motorrad for its new F750GS and F850GS models and a presentation of its new products for 2018 at the recent NEC Motorcycle Live show.

Following the success of their collaboration on the existing F700GS and F800GS models, the BMW Motorrad automatic chain lubrication system will be available in early 2018 as an optional accessory for the new BMW F750GS and F850GS models.

Glasgow-based chain lubrication systems experts, Scottoiler, have announced an extension of their successful partnership with BMW Motorrad with the launch of a new co-branded chain oiler.

Following the success of their collaboration on the existing F700GS and F800GS models, the BMW Motorrad automatic chain lubrication system will be available in early 2018 as an optional accessory for the new BMW F750GS and F850GS models.

Project Manager Matthias Ennen said: “We have been working with BMW over the last few years to integrate the Scottoiler systems into their new chain driven models and we are very excited to finally see the finished product hit the market.

“The Scottoiler chain lubrication system will blend seamlessly with the F750GS and F850GS and automatically take over users’ chain maintenance regime.”

Scottoiler systems are designed to remove the messy and time consuming task of manually lubricating the motorbike chain whilst offering increased chain and sprockets life in addition to improved final drive efficiency.

The system, which comprises an oil reservoir, vacuum controlled valve and dispenser assembly to gravity feed lubricant onto the rear sprocket, maintains the final drive transmission automatically during riding.

Fiona Scott Thomson, Managing Director of Scottoiler, stated: “Scottoiler is widely recognised as the leading expert on chain maintenance and this relationship with BMW Motorrad highlights our expertise, the quality of our products and the importance of proper chain maintenance with an on board system.”

Installation of the chain-lubrication system will be performed by BMW Motorrad technicians ensuring that the product installation is of the highest possible standard. The new chain oiler product will be available exclusively through the BMW Motorrad worldwide dealer network.

In addition, customers will have a choice of two oils, Scottoil Standard which is designed for average daily temperatures of 0-30°C (32-86°F), and Scottoil Super which is designed for average daily temperatures of 20-40°C (68-104°F). Unlike traditional chain care products Scottoil is designed to be used specifically with Scottoiler automatic chain lubrication systems.

Motorcycle chain oiler manufacturer Scottoiler is gearing up to celebrate its 30th anniversary

Motorcycle chain oiler manufacturer Scottoiler is gearing up to celebrate its 30th anniversary 130 years ago Fraser Scott first presented his invention the Scottoiler, an automatic motorcycle chain oiler, to the public at the Motorcycle Live Show in Birmingham. Now, 30 years later, Scottoiler is an established brand in the motorcycle industry with global market penetration.

R&D Manager Stephen Hood says “The recession has hit the motorcycle market hard but we see signs of recovery. Our products help every motorcyclist to spend more time on the road and less time in the garage. Satisfied customers quickly spread the word about this ingenious chain maintenance invention, and, over time, dealers, wholesalers and manufacturers began stocking the product.

Scottoiler has since increased its product range and is exporting to over 40 countries worldwide. Europe, Australia and SE Asia are strong established markets and the company is focusing its attention on the North American market in 2015.

“2015 is a big year for us. We currently have exciting projects going on behind the scenes at Scottoiler which we hope will appeal to our loyal customers and hopefully attract many new ones.” said Fiona Scott Thomson, Managing Director of Scottoiler Ltd.
