The iXS Classic AR Jeans 1L Straight not only look like genuine jeans, they also feel like them! And despite this, they are still ideally suited to motorbike rides. How is this possible? The jeans have a true denim feel both on the inside and outside because they are made of only a single layer of fabric. However, this layer is so strong that the jeans are as abrasion-resistant as leather trousers. This feature is achieved owing to the sophisticated combination of cotton, an elasticated thread and a highly abrasion-resistant polyarylate fibre.
The material called denim, also known as jeans, was already developed for robust, resilient and stable work trousers 150 years ago. The tear-resistant, robust jeans were particularly popular with gold-diggers. The cotton material from Nîmes in France was dyed dark blue and the seams were sewn in orange thread as a fashion gimmick. The trouser pockets were reinforced with additional rivets.
What was strong enough for people searching for gold, is too weak for motorbike riders. The tear- and abrasion resistance of normal fashion jeans offer too little protection on a motorbike. Up to now assistance was provided by incorporating an additional layer inside the cotton fabric in the form of a lining reinforced with aramid. The disadvantage: the jeans become thicker and stiffer as a result – comfort therefore suffers, particularly for everyday use.
iXS took on the challenge and has developed a pair of jeans which satisfy the safety requirements of motorbike riders and yet consist of “only” one layer. This was possible because the denim fabric was woven with highly abrasion-resistant fibres made of polyarylate. The Classic AR Jeans 1L Straight were born. Combined with the stretch fibres also incorporated directly into the fabric, the jeans are extremely comfortable and provide full freedom of movement. There is therefore no longer any discernible difference to a normal pair of everyday jeans.

Your legs and feet are particularly exposed on a motorbike, which is why iXS has been looking for optimal solutions for foot protection. The aim: A higher level of safety with simultaneous further development of functionality and comfort. The high-level requirements have now become a reality with the new Tour Boot Techno-ST+. This was made possible by using the latest micro-injection technology.
In this new process functional KPU plastics are injected directly into the fabric structure. Therefore reinforcements at the ankles, the gear change area and at other important points can be incorporated seamlessly into the outer material. This enabled annoying crossovers, material overlaps and hollows to be eliminated, which in addition to greater safety leads to a welcome weight reduction and increased comfort. Micro-injection technology also offered new options in terms of appearance. The design looks light and sporty with a futuristic touch.
A real plus in well-being is provided by the newly developed iXS Comfort Pad – ergonomically shaped calf padding that can be adjusted individually in height. The large reflective inserts on the Orca Reflex rain suit from IXS are made of a very special innovative material which is fully reflective in diffuse light conditions or in a beam of light when it’s dark.
Staying dry when riding a motorbike is not a luxury, but an important requirement so you can continue to concentrate in difficult road conditions. High-quality rainwear designed for motorbike riding should therefore be part of your basic equipment. It protects us against the wet and therefore against feeling uncomfortable and cooling down.
Poor visibility goes hand in hand with rainy weather. Therefore good visibility for rainwear has a particularly important protective function. The Orca Reflex rain suit from iXS uses an innovative, extensive reflective material. In daylight the suit looks aesthetically appealing in black-grey, while the grey material reflects the light in a bright light sliver when it’s dark.
The suit is fitted with a long labyrinth fastening to guarantee its core function of providing rain protection. In addition, all the seams are welded to be watertight. A special mesh lining has been incorporated in the upper part for easy handling. It makes it easier to put it on or take it off quickly when the weather changes suddenly. The same purpose is also satisfied by the zip closures on the legs and the long, diagonal front zip.
Making rainwear as comfortable as possible is also important to iXS. Elastic arm and leg closures as well as an elastic waist ensure a snug fit. The collar, whose width can be extended, means it can be adjusted to individual requirements. The bag for space-saving storage is also very practical. The Tour Jacket Flex-ST with a discrete sporty design is not only a feast for the eyes, but also provides reliable protection against the wind and rain with its solto-TEX® 2-layer Z-liner membrane. Two circumferential zips from the jacket waist band at the front over the shoulders to the jacket waist band at the back make additional widths possible. The Tour Jacket Flex-ST is also flexible to deal with temperature fluctuations and can remain in use all year round. The removable thermal lining ensures this on the one hand. It’s fitted with a side stretch so that it is compatible with the jacket’s SIZE-ADJUST-SYSTEM. A breathable net lining and a back protector pocket in 3D-mesh ensure improved moisture transport towards the outside and therefore an optimal body climate. If temperatures rise, six ventilation openings are available so that additional fresh air can be provided, if necessary.
High-quality Level 2 protectors at the shoulders and elbows as well as a fully-fledged back protector, which satisfies the latest CE safety standards, are part of the series equipment. The reflective transfer prints promote safety and are simultaneously attractive style elements.
