New Dainese Carve Master 3 GORE-TEX jacket and trousers

Both the jacket and trousers boast the same soft, yet abrasion-resistant, Mugello fabric construction with 3D-Stone inserts to guarantee abrasion resistance across the most exposed areas. The GORE-TEX® waterproof membrane shields against the elements, while guaranteeing excellent breathability. The removable thermal lining boosts comfort even when travelling in winter. Strategically placed zip-operated air vents allow for great versatility and make the Carve Master 3 the great all-year-round riding companion.

The highest Dainese safety standards are upheld throughout with Pro-Armor Lev. 2, Type B protectors on the elbows, shoulders, hips and knees and the option to insert a G1 or G2 back protector and Pro-Armor chest protectors. Dainese Pro-Armor technology, inspired by the geometries of natural fractals, allows for maximum protection, with the mobility of a soft protector and ideal ventilation due to a surface that is perforated across 40% of its area.

There are adjusters on the sleeves, waist, wrist and calf, a drawstring on the bottom of the jacket, adjustable height knee protectors and a jacket and trouser connecting zip. There’s plenty of storage for personal possessions with a multitude of jacket pockets – including two inside, two outside which are waterproof, one on the thermal liner and a cargo pocket on the back.

The Carve Master 3 GORE-TEX® jacket is available in three colour options – black/ebony, black/ebony/fluo-yellow and black/ebony/lava-red for both men (sizes 44-62) and women (sizes 38-52) and all have an RRP of £549.95.

The Carve Master 3 GORE-TEX® trousers are available in a choice of men’s or women’s fit with an RRP of £429.95. The Carve Master 3 Lady GORE-TEX® pants are available in black/ebony in sizes 38-52. Smart Jacket – MotoGP protection for the road from Dainese

Designed with the flexibility to be worn over or under any outfit and without needing to be connected to the motorcycle, Dainese’s Smart Jacket combines all the power of the latest generation of D-Air® – Dainese’s Airbag System – into the convenience of a vest.

With no need for a back protector, the Smart Jacket can be folded when not in use to be stored in a backpack or even a top box. However, this doesn’t mean riders aren’t protected, with the system offering the equivalent protection as seven back protectors and the Smart Jacket being constructed from abrasion resistant material.

The Dainese D-air® airbag system protects the motorcycle rider’s back and vital parts with its ‘Shield’, the patented airbag with microfilaments that ensure high shock absorption capacity without the need for hardshell protective gear. Its special structure and microfilaments guarantee uniform, controlled inflation, offering the same level of protection over every inch of the jacket. With a battery life of up to 26 hours continuous use and a shipping mode, activated using the D-Air® app – which doesn’t require a subscription – the Smart Jacket can go everywhere.

Introduced in 2018, the AIR version of the RT-Race boot has been developed with track performance in mind. Giving the boot its aggressive and dynamic style and unparalleled comfort and convenience is the over-injected front and side panel, that allows for an easy step in, along with an upper constructed with durable and lightweight microfibre. The F.F.C Fasten Fit Control internal lacing system, which is linked to the boot lining by a high-tenacity lace, ensures a precise fit and greater sensitivity when riding, and the micro-adjustable, quick-release aluminium buckle is designed to adapt perfectly to various calf shapes.

The innovative AIR TECH lining is a soft-touch mesh providing ultimate breathability, paired with a double density foam for superior comfort around the ankle.

Fully CE-certified and reinforced with a Double Flex Control System, the boots offer greater protection than before whilst still allowing front and rear flexibility. The boots feature newly-designed PU reinforcements in the most vulnerable areas of the foot, such as the shin, ankle, heel and toe, as well as magnesium heel sliders which are interchangeable and highly resistant to wear, and allow for natural sliding across the tarmac in the event of a fall.

The Race RT Pro Air is fitted with a MICHELIN® BURNOUT sole. Inspired by the MICHELIN® “Power Supersport Evo” tyre, the sole features a tread with differentiated grip zones, designed to guarantee superior grip onto the peg and greater resistance to wear and tear.

Closing features an outside elastic zip with a velcro tab as well as a micro-adjustable buckle that has a PU toothed band all designed to allow for a perfect fastening.

Available in brand new colourways for 2022 is the TCX RT-RACE boots, now available in Black/Grey with a large red TCX logo, and Black/White/Grey with a speckled white/grey design aspect.

Similar to the RT-RACE PRO AIR, the upper is made from durable, lightweight, microfibre and features and an over-injected front and side panel to allow for an easy step in, as well as the F.F.C Fasten Fit Control for a secure fit. A newly-designed, abrasion-resistant microfibre heat guard helps to offer the best protection and grip on the bike frame.

The breathable lining offers superior comfort around the ankle thanks to the soft-touch mesh combined with double density foam. The newly designed polyurethane shin plate with iron mesh allows for the intake of air adding to the boots’ breathability.

For natural sliding on tarmac, the CE-certified boots feature replaceable abrasion-resistant polyurethane toe sliders and replaceable magnesium and polyurethane heel sliders. The sole is lightweight and made from a mono compound rubber sole with a specific grip area. With an Ortholite® extra-light and durable footbed, the RT-RACE boot allows for the perfect amount of flexibility and comfort whilst remaining secure and protective when out riding.

  7. The impact absorption while wearing the airbag results in a decrease of the impact force by up to 95% compared to a passive protector.
  8. The Tech-Air® 10 has CE certification Level 2 for both the chest and back.
  9. A remote, wireless LED display indicates the airbag’s operational status.
  10. The integrated, certified lithium-ion battery has a battery life of 24 hours of riding time.
  11. Bluetooth connectivity to a Tech-Air® App provides riders with the Airbag System’s operational status, battery status, and MyRide trip information.
  12. Via the Tech-Air® App, riders can also update the System’s firmware when new crash-detection algorithms are released.
  13. The Tech-Air® 10 System features an airbag that is certified for up to three inflations.

Richa introduces Airstream 3 and Vendetta jackets

Richa introduces Airstream 3 and Vendetta jackets to their touring collection for 2022.

For 2022, Richa has introduced two brand-new jackets to its touring collection; one the successor of the much-loved Airstream 2 and the other an all-new design.

Airstream 3 Jacket 

The successor of the Airstream 2 jacket, the aptly-named Airstream 3 is the ultimate all-season jacket made from a mix of high abrasion textile and mesh panels. It has a removable 10,000 mm Aquashell LTD membrane to protect riders in the wet; a removable thermal lining for optimal insulation in cold weather and an Airvent System to provide fixed ventilation at key areas.

Featuring soft mesh lining, and sleeve ends finished in soft neoprene fabric, the jacket has been designed for comfort. Wearers are protected with D3O Level 1 protection at both the shoulders and elbows, as well as a D3O back protector. There is safety stitching in high risk zones and a D3O chest protector can be added. The storm flap behind the central front zipper provides extra weather protection.

The slim fit jacket provides a customisable fit by being adjustable at the bottom width, upper arm and at the sleeve cuff width. There are two outside pockets and four inside; the short connection zipper allows the jacket to be paired with any Richa compatible trousers.

Vendetta Jacket 

The Vendetta jacket is Richa’s all-new sports jacket that has premium racing cups at the shoulders. Made from high-abrasion textile combined with ripstop, the Vendetta features soft mesh lining and a collar finished in soft neoprene.

There are two outside pockets, one napoleon pocket and four inside pockets. The Airtech Control System works to provide ventilation at key areas and the jacket has a removable waterproof and insulation layer so riders can alter the jacket to suit their comfort.

Even suitable in wet weather conditions, the jacket has a removable 10,000 mm Aquashell hybrid membrane and a 2-in-1 LTD with an integrated thermo liner. The storm flap behind the zipper provides extra protection and the jacket can be adjusted at the waistline, upper arm and the sleeve cuff width.

The Vendetta jacket comes with hard shoulder cups and integrated D3O protection at the shoulder, elbows and back – all protection in the Vendetta jacket can be upgraded to D3O Level 2 protectors.

The slim fit jacket has safety stitching in high risk zones and can be connected to other compatible Richa trousers with the short connection zipper.

Vanson Leathers is introducing a new custom-fitted cruising gear series to celebrate its support of the Charging Across America Challenge (CAAC). Designed to promote the nation’s transition to electric vehicles (EVs), the event features two riders, Rob Swartz and Steven Day, who will attempt to break the Cannonball cross-country electric motorcycle record of 178 hours and 17 minutes.

Sporting all-new Vanson “Charger” cruising gear, both riders will simultaneously journey coast-to-coast in opposite directions on Energica electric motorcycles following the original 2,906-mile route of the Cannonball Run, creating a unique “race within a race.” The challenge kicks off April 18, 2022, with finish-line crossings scheduled in Redondo Beach, California, and New York City on April 22, 2022.

“When Rob gave us the CAAC details, we wanted to create something really special to reflect the Earth Day finish-line crossing,” said Vanson founder, Michael van der Sleesen. Vanson designers selected a 10 lb. 10 oz. Army Duck canvas made from “ring-spun” cotton yarn material for the “Charger” bib pants and “Road King” jackets, since it is 100% plant-based and sustainable with minimal fossil fuel used to create the final product.

“We’ve dubbed the new design the ‘Charger’ series since it was inspired by the CAAC. From plant seeds to pants seats, this gear is 100% American-made, including the dying and finishing process,” added van der Sleesen.

“Army Duck is a traditional fabric whose time has come again; it’s truly a ‘back to the future’ material. It’s breathable, waterproof and durable. We characterize wax cotton as a ‘living material,’ which can be easily maintained and re-proofed with wax to counter natural aging that occurs with use and exposure to UV over time,” noted van der Sleesen.

Event organizers hope to demonstrate the superiority of electric motorcycles vs. internal combustion-powered brands, but the CAAC is not about speed—it’s about planning, rider endurance and finishing safely. “Rider comfort and safety will be essential in setting the new cross-country electric motorcycle record,” stated event organizer and westbound rider Rob Swartz. “From casual weekend cruising to attempting new speed records at the Bonneville Salt Flats, I’ve relied on Vanson gear for over 20 years,” he added.

Weise layers for all seasons

TUCANORAK: The perfect partner for Tucano Urbano’s leg cover

Introducing the TUCANORAK: The first rain jacket designed to be worn alongside the Termoscud® leg cover from Tucano Urbano, to provide ultimate protection against rain and cold. 

Tucano Urbano has been crafting smart urban innovations for the past 21 years, starting with the first-ever Termoscud® leg cover introduced in 1999. Since then, Tucano Urbano has been a brand synonymous with rainwear and weather protection for scooter riders, and now, the Milanese brand launches the new TUCANORAK; a waterproof anorak-inspired jacket with a Termoscud®-ready system to prevent any water infiltration between the leg cover and the body of the rider.

In just three simple steps, any rider can become ready to take on a downpour; first, lift the front pocket of the TUCANORAK jacket, then slide the Termoscud® bib under the pocket, and finally, close the pocket over the bib. Water will simply run off the jacket pocket and over the leg cover, ensuring it doesn’t reach the rider’s body.

The TUCANORAK is constructed with a breathable, lightweight polyamide, which is windproof and has a high water column resistance with taped seams. There is a double waterproof flap covering the central zip and collar, and meets the requirements for rain protection fabrics (PPE Rainwear Category 1) in accordance with EN 343:2019.

The back of the jacket features reflective inserts for added visibility in poor conditions, and there’s a polyester mesh lining for breathability. To ensure the jacket doesn’t flap, it is designed with a long, fitted shape to wrap around the hips and pelvis, and comes with elastic waist and cuff adjusters. For when riders aren’t wearing their helmet off the bike, there’s an ergonomic hood which folds into the neck.

The TUCANORAK is available in four sizes; XS-S, M-L, XL-2XL and 3XL-4XL, with RRP £59.99.

For enhanced protection against cold weather, the Termoscud® leg cover is also compatible with Tucano Urbano’s TERMOWARM heated leg pad; simply place the heated leg pad into the top Termoscud® compartment pocket and switch it on for added warmth.

The TERMOWARM is made with extremely tough Oxford polyamide, and to ensure heat is reflected towards the rider’s legs, there’s an inner aluminium foil to deflect heat on the top, and the rear side is constructed with Aero 3D mesh to spread the heat uniformly. Powered by a power bank with minimum capacity of 5000mAh 5V/2A (not supplied), the heating duration is around 1.5hours based on 5000mAh power.
