Seat core made of ergonomically shaped special foam
For a start, there is the high-grade core made of suitable quality foam, which is specific to the model and does not lose its shape even on the longest stages. The shape of the core is anatomically optimised. This means that not only is the contour completely free of disturbing edges but the special shaping also provides efficient relief for the coccyx and supports an upright sitting position. Thanks to the ingenious shaping of the contour, the Touratech comfort seat has a reduced inner leg curve length so that the rider’s feet reach the ground more easily although the seat height remains the same.
Seat cover with Fresh Touch technology
Through bonding the foam core and the seat cover over the entire surface, these two components are prevented from shifting independently. The result is wonderfully firm seating and optimum power transmission for precise handling. In addition, Fresh Touch technology reflects the infra-red part of sunlight, which results in up to 10 degrees less heat-up of the seat. Unlike other suppliers, Touratech has been using waterproof taped seams for more than 15 years, effectively preventing the penetration of water into the foam core.

And the Touratech developers have also given a lot of thought to the pillion seat. Here, too, a foam mixture is used that is particularly suitable for long stages. In addition, a modified contour effectively prevents the passenger from sliding forward, considerably increasing the comfort of riding with a partner.

Touratech has reinterpreted the classic rain suit using the latest textile technology. And for good reason: Even in the age of membrane inserts, the tried-and-tested principle of the extra outer layer is far from obsolete. Because unlike in the case of inserts, where the wetness first penetrates the suit as far as the waterproof layer, in this classic combination, the rain stays where it belongs: outside.
One might think that’s nothing new, we had that 60 years ago already. But far from it. With the Storm, Touratech merges the basic principle of the classic rain suit with the capabilities of the most modern functional clothing.
Waterproof and breathable: laminate with Hydratex technology
The robust blended fabric of the outer material is bonded with a Hydratex Lite membrane to form a completely windproof and waterproof laminate. However, the micropores of the membrane allow effective water vapour transport from the inside to the outside. This means that sweating is not an issue if you’re wearing the Touratech Storm – even during physical exertion.
This suit also has reflective sections that greatly improve the visibility of the rider in unfavourable light conditions.
Easy to put on and supremely comfortable to ride in
With its two-piece design, the Touratech Storm rain suit is much easier to put on than a classic one-piece rain suit. In addition, the large adjustable Velcro system allows it to be pulled over your boots easily and ensures a tight-fitting leg closure regardless of the type of motorcycle boot worn. Additional Velcro straps enable individual width adjustment. And last but not least, the elastic waistband adjusts perfectly to the figure of the rider.
The Storm jacket offers even more extensive adjustment options. Two Velcro closures at the waist and under the upper arms allow for precise customisation so that nothing pinches or flutters. Further Velcro fastenings at the cuffs ensure secure closure around your gloves.
Two spacious inner pockets offer sufficient waterproof storage space. And when the sun shines again, the Touratech Storm disappears into the space-saving bag provided and can be conveniently stowed away.

The new Harley-Davidson Pan America is nothing less than a milestone in the company’s history.
Up until now, the Motor Company has never developed a vehicle specifically for offroad use.
Scouting the Adventure Country Track across the Pyrenees, the Touratech test team ascertained that the Pan America is indeed a serious player in this sector. And it’s no wonder that numerous concepts for accessories ideal for adventures big and small were born out of this tough ride.
Protectors for comprehensive protection
The Pan America provided an open flank in terms of vehicle protection in offroad use. For almost 25 years, adventure bikes from Mattighofen have proven that the model designation “Adventure” is not a marketing gimmick, but an honest commitment. Since the legendary 620, the Austrians have continued to develop their adventure models with great seriousness, and currently offer six models ranging from 390 to 1290 cubic centimetres.
Perfect base for adventurous tours
Even the entry-level model, the KTM 390 Adventure, provides the perfect basis for having fun on adventurous excursions: a feisty engine, solid spring elements and agile handling. If you are planning to ride the small Adventure off-road or on a longer trip, however, this is where Touratech parts come into play – extra-robust, well-engineered and tested over thousands of kilometres of trails.
Wide range of luggage systems
The Touratech range for the KTM 390 Adventure starts with the robust ZEGA aluminium pannier system, which is attached to an indestructible 18×2 steel tube rack. Several pannier sizes and designs are available. For even more storage space, there is the ZEGA Topcase, mounted to make it trail-proof on a rack with a quick-release fastener. Then there are the tank bags from the Ambato series. Depending on space requirements, there are three variants of this proven line to choose from.
Rugged parts for heavy use

The luggage plate XL for the Yamaha T7 offers solo travellers the perfect solution for safely stowing even extra-large rack packs. The extremely robust aluminium plate takes over the pillion seat and luggage rack area.
It’s not only veteran travellers who know that luggage stowed on a motorcycle should be as close to the centre of gravity as possible. It therefore makes no sense for solo travellers to fix their luggage roll right at the back on a rack. Experienced riders strap their rolls to the pillion seat.
But the fastening options in this position are often limited, and the bench foam does not provide an ideal base either. For the Lonesome Rider on a Yamaha Ténéré 700, Touratech now has the perfect solution in the form of the luggage plate XL with which you can lash even the largest luggage rolls securely, with a low centre of gravity.
The luggage plate XL not only replaces the pillion seat, it provides a flat surface, reaching over the mudguard – where the luggage rack normally sits. The luggage plate XL is definitely not lacking in robustness. An aluminium adapter plate with stainless steel hooks snaps exactly into the original locking mechanism of the pillion seat. The device is locked with the standard lock, operated with the ignition key. In addition, rubber buffers ensure a play-free fit.
The actual luggage plate is made of black anodised aluminium with a sturdy thickness of four millimetres. Generous material recesses keep the weight within practical limits. The straight lines, forming an exact extension of the surface of the rider’s seat, prevent the creation of an edge so that coccyx injuries, for example during rough off-road use, are excluded.
To enable secure lashing to meet any terrain, the luggage plate XL has generously dimensioned strap eyelets. Rack packs can be attached either classically crosswise to the direction of travel or lengthwise.
The grips at the rear of the frame remain fully accessible, and there is nothing to prevent the simultaneous use of a ZEGA aluminium pannier system.

The brand new Midi tank bag completes Touratech‘s Ibarra soft luggage series. The Ibarra Midi offers an almost as extensive equipment as its larger counterpart, but is specially designed for the shorter tanks of the mid-range adventure bikes.

The IbarraMidi is shorter, so that it its perfectly on the compact tanks of the current mid-range adventure bikes such as the Yamaha T7, KTM 890 Adventure, Honda Africa Twin or the Triumph Tiger 900. Excellent i t and unrestricted freedom of movement make the Ibarra Midi a loyal companion on off-road stages as well.

Its volume can be expanded from four to seven litres by means of a zip, so that everything you need for short trips can be stowed on board. There is enough space in the map compartment for the map section showing the next stage. The document pocket holds important documents, and your credit card is stored in its own Velcro-fastened pocket, as secure as it is easy to reach.

The Ibarra Sport tail rack bag is available in the same quality and with the same features. Three straps, each with two buckles, together with a non-slip foam rubber underside, guarantee secure i xing on your pillion seat or luggage rack. The KTM 1290 Super Adventure not only lives up to its name, it positively challenges its rider to join it in the search for great adventures. Protector equipment for tough rides
When riding on adventurous trails, solid protector equipment is indispensable. This is why KTM has equipped the R version of the 1290 Super Adventure with a crash bar as standard; for the standard version, this robust product is available as a factory accessory. Touratech goes one better and offers an extension that also provides protection for the fairing in even the toughest conditions.
A solid engine guard is also a must for offroad riding. The tried-and-tested “Expedition” protector made of folded ultra-robust aluminium sheeting, which, thanks to the distinctive plastic rails on its underside, acts as a skid plate that makes even rock-strewn slopes lose their terror, is also available for the Super Adventure.
For the KTM 1290 Super Adventure as well, the essentials in terms of protection also include headlight protectors and hand protectors, which are of course available from Touratech in the best quality. As an option to the proven hand protector made of unbreakable plastic, the 1290 can also be fitted with the high-end Defensa protector. In this case, a super-robust, forged aluminium bracket is responsible for protecting your handlebar fittings and hands – which can be upgraded with plastic shells and spoilers to provide suitable weather protection for touring.

Luggage systems – at home on any trail
Thanks to its enormous long-distance capability, the KTM 1290 Super Adventure is predestined for epic trips. To enable the rider to stow even a large amount of luggage securely whatever the terrain, Touratech has adapted the ZEGA Evo X aluminium pannier system, which has been tried and tested ten thousand times over, to the Adventure. This “special system” makes particularly effective use of the space available by cleverly fitting the rack and panniers around the rear silencer, combining maximum volume with minimum overall width. Otherwise, everything is as before: indestructible racks made of 18-millimetre-thick stainless steel tubing, panniers made of 1.5-millimetre-thick aluminium sheet, equipped with what is probably the world’s most robust one-hand fastening system. A system with a straight standard rack is already being developed.
Even really fat rack packs, such as those used by long-distance travellers on their month-long trips, sit securely on the aluminium and stainless steel luggage rack.
And the Touratech developers have also kept those travellers in mind who appreciate the comforts of a topcase. There is a tailor-made support for the ZEGA Evo Topcase with a volume of 38 litres for the 1290 Super Adventure. Smaller items can be stowed in the Ibarra handlebar bag for easy access, or in the Ambato tail rack bag.
And of course, there is also a version of the proven Ambato EXP Rallye tank bag, adapted to the big KTM.

Perfect ergonomics for optimal performance
Lengthy rides also put the rider’s physical condition to the test. To prevent any sign of your performance dropping, even after many hours of riding, individually adapted motorcycle ergonomics are essential.

The new Touratech toolbox allows for the convenient storage of even the most extensive assortment of on-board tools. It can be mounted either in conjunction with the engine crash bar or as a stand-alone solution.
With this new toolbox, Touratech makes the know-how gained in countless rally competitions available for the Yamaha Ténéré 700 and Honda CRF 1100 L Africa Twin. The space next to the engine can be used at last for storing on-board tools in a way that is favourable to the centre of gravity. With a volume of 3.5 litres, this box offers space for an extensive assortment of tools, a large first aid kit or a well-stocked spare parts package.
The material used is ABS, a particularly impact-resistant plastic that has proven itself in the manufacture of motorcycle helmets for decades. This toolbox is designed as a top loader, which allows convenient loading and guarantees quick accessibility. When closed, the removable lid is splash proof, so that the contents remain dry at all times, except when riding through deep water.
The Touratech toolbox is mounted at the left side of the engine with a favourable centre of gravity. Various mounting options are available. The toolbox can be mounted as a stand-alone solution using the stainless steel bracket supplied. It can also be mounted in conjunction with a Touratech crash bar already purchased. To do this, simply replace the left side of the bar with the stainless steel bracket. Last but not least, this toolbox is also available in a package together with the crash bar.
The box itself has a black finish, the stainless steel brackets are available with either an electro-polished surface or a black coating.

Of course, robust protector equipment is an absolute must on a meaty enduro like the KTM 790 Adventure. The three-piece Rallye Evo engine guard is designed for tough use. It consists of an extra-robust Skid Plate made of canted aluminium and hydro-formed side panels that hug the engine tightly with their complex three-dimensional design. If you want to continue using the standard KTM engine guard, Touratech offers a Hard Part for reinforcement. A strong bracket made of 25 mm stainless steel tube is responsible for protecting the fairing and the tank. The brand new Defensa hand protectors are, of course, also available for the 890. Thanks to diverse configurations, they can be perfectly adapted to different usage profiles, from hard enduro riding to touring.

Ergonomics

Triumph Motorcycles UK has announced that it will partner with Globebusters – the established motorcycle travel provider – to exhibit at the Touratech Travel Event in South Wales.
Held at Rheola Grounds, Neath, from 11 to 13 May, Triumph will be running on-road test rides for its all-new Tiger 800 and 1200 Adventure models, alongside the Tiger Sport and Street Scrambler.
Participants will also get to stop by the Triumph Adventure Experience en route. Located at the foot of the Brecon Beacons, this will be the ideal opportunity to see what the world-class off-road facility has to offer.

The event truck will be accompanied by four Instructors from DRE Enduro School in Italy led by the former Dakar rider Beppe Gualini!

The course is suitable for all, from beginners who want to gain confidence and control of the bike in conditions with low grip, to the more experienced enduro rider who wants to learn from the experience of top riders and try out riding techniques with the new Multistrada 1200 Enduro.
Riders will be given an experience lasting 45-60 minutes to experience what the bike can do off road, using the specially designed off road track and portable facilities and then a road demo exploring the local countryside and using the bike to its full road potential.
