The Superveloce AGO will be produced in a limited series of 311 units, one for each of Agostini’s career wins, with the first 15 dedicated to his World Championships titles, a record still unbeaten.

All the details of the Superveloce AGO will be officially unveiled on Saturday. MV Agusta fans and motorcycling enthusiasts will discover this truly incredible motorcycle, which the legend himself will present to the world in the best and most spectacular way.

MV Agusta Launches Its – Logo Level 1 – Streetwear Garments

Released in typical limited series “drops”, the new collection take branded apparel into the world of high-end street fashion.

MV Agusta Motor S.p.A. is announcing the launch of its new branded streetwear apparel collection, Logo Level 1, with several successive releases scheduled at different times of the year. Fostering the iconography of the MV Agusta logo, and releasing as limited series “drops”, mark the company’s intention to appeal to younger-generation, broadening its audience to attentive, streetwise and discerning non-bikers. The Logo Level 1 collection reaches out to its public through a very specific language, made of content, values and connections. The project will be available on MV Agusta’s official webstore, and also in the best street-fashion stores worldwide.

In the presentation of the first capsule collection, driven by the “Motorcycle Art” claim which strongly summarises the values of the brand, MV Agusta teamed up with KALEIDOSCOPE to present “Metafisica Veloce” — a riff on the company’s initials that celebrates innovation and tradition contaminating each other to prompt new ideas around speed.

Here, Jim Nedd’s photography captures enigmatic scenes in the eerie and enigmatic backdrop of the city of Tresigallo, also called “the Metaphysical City” for its beautifully-preserved rationalist-style buildings that seem to have come straight out of a De Chirico painting.

In the silent tableaux vivants, the Superveloce, the company’s most iconic motorcycle and a masterpiece of design, finds stillness, while the collection of garments, styled by Francesca Izzi, delivers the company’s new image direction and contemporary vision.

The quilted jacket is undoubtedly the most representative garment in the collection. It perfectly summariZes its essence: a no season, no gender, international project. The brand’s vision is to have a single apparel project for different users but also for the same users in different moments and occasions.

The rest of the collection includes jersey t-shirts and sweatshirts, but also oversize windbreakers, chino pants with an outdoor construction in Lamintess technical fabric, a duffle bag in the same fabric and a quilted jacket that shows the classic logo embroidered on the side. The fits are easy, the materials of the highest quality and the manufacturing Italian.

The next drops will continue to follow this direction with the addition of accessories and other items of clothing.

MV Agusta Goes Electric And Extends Its Two-Wheels Concept

MV Agusta Goes Electric And Extends Its Two-Wheels Concept by launching exclusive lightweight e-vehicles, in pure MV Agusta style.

MV Agusta Motor S.p.A. is announcing its upcoming entry into the electric mobility market with a range of lightweight e-vehicles bearing its iconic wings and gearwheel logo. A long awaited brand extension that leverages MV Agusta’s growing brand equity in the urban mobility segment. With this move, the brand from Schiranna is directly targeting the untapped market of sophisticated, discerning urban dwellers for whom moving around the city on a sports motorcycle is not the most practical option. MV Agusta e-mobility light vehicles will fill the gap and meet the need for a fast, stylish and eco-friendly way to roam the metropolis.

E-bicycles will be launched first, soon to be followed by kick scooters. MV Agusta chose the name AMO, Italian for “I love”, for this first e-bikes series. It takes after the company’s passion for the two wheels world. There will be two models in the series, the RR and the RC, both featuring a 250W silent Mahle engine with assisted speed of up to 25km/h, a 250Wh Panasonic battery providing 75km autonomy on a single charge, and premium quality components such as the Pirelli tyres, the Magura disc brakes and the Gates Carbon Drive belt. At just 15.5 kg, AMO bicycles are lightweight and inconspicuous, ideal for urban commutes or leisure trips.

The elegant RR version will come in a choice of two liveries, one yellow and black, the other red and black, while the limited edition RC will be offered in the classic red, white and black Reparto Corse livery.

The newcomers in the MV Agusta family will be designed and engineered in Italy, following the brand’s tradition of impeccable craftsmanship, using the latest technology and advanced, premium materials. Partnerships have been developed with established manufacturers for kick-scooters, while e-bicycles will be entirely assembled in-house. Both product series will be available online at www.mvagusta.com in the e-mobility section as well as through MV Agusta’s traditional sales network. External partners will also be involved to boost launch and distribution.

The development of a strong, scalable online platform for the brand’s e-mobility vehicles is an important part of MV Agusta’s strategy for the future of this segment. The plan includes a dedicated online space to learn about the products, an online store and in general a robust ecosystem where clients can order e-products, and buy or return parts.

Timur Sardarov, CEO of MV Agusta Motor S.p.A., commented: “Our world is moving fast, society is evolving at a cadence the pandemic and the new-normal have dramatically accelerated. The motorcycle industry has come to form part of a single, larger market of lightweight mobility that encompasses all two-wheel vehicles. There is a growing need for affordable, light and eco-friendly mobility solutions, especially in large, busy urban contexts. An entire segment, almost untouched. We realised the time was right for us to unlock the full potential of what the MV Agusta brand stands for. Speed, quality of engineering and authentic Italian design are values that resonate with urban dwellers and bikers alike. I am confident this move to diversify our product portfolio with an exciting and different product range will be well received by the markets and bring us the expected returns.”

MV Agusta To Attempt World Record Of Maximum Countries Visited In 24 Hours

With journalist Valerio Boni riding the renewed Turismo Veloce in a 2.000km-long epic journey across Europe, from Sweden to Italy

On the longest day of the year, the summer solstice of June 21st, MV Agusta, together with journalist Valerio Boni, will attempt to beat the record of the most countries visited in 24 hours on a motorcycle.

Boni will set off on a 2000 km ride across Europe, respecting all the traffic and speed regulations, starting from Malmö in Sweden and ending at the MV Agusta headquarters in Schiranna, Italy, setting the mark of the most countries visited at 11:  Sweden, Denmark, Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Switzerland, Austria, Liechtenstein and of course, Italy. A real endurance test for Boni and his 2021 edition Turismo Veloce Lusso SCS.

Valerio Boni, 62, is an Italian motorcycling journalist. A true motorsport enthusiast, he’d ride anything with wheels and an engine and has a particular predilection for endurance raids. He was among the first Italian riders taking part in African rallies, and rode 125 cc Cagivas to victory in Morocco and Egypt. He also has a passion for long distance, round-the-clock challenges. Last month he set the Guinness World Record for the longest distance on a minibike in 24 hours.

MV Agusta named the enterprise “TVEE”, Turismo Veloce Europe Endurance, inspired by the TEE, Trans Europe Express, the legendary train service that operated in Europe from 1957 to 1991, and which represented, at the time, the fastest and most stylish way to travel across the continent before the advent of high-speed.

But Boni’s quest won’t be stopping at the world record, since he will also attempt to gain SaddleSore 1600K and SaddleSore 2000K certifications from the Iron Butt Association, the “World’s toughest Motorcycle Riders”. The challenges consist in riding respectively 1.600 km and 2.000 km in less than 24 hours.

Valerio Boni commented: “This long, epic ride across Europe will certainly be challenging for both rider and bike, but the 2021 edition of the Turismo Veloce, in its production version, has everything it takes to achieve the objective in the best conditions. Thanks to the Turismo Veloce’s onboard technology we will be able to share the adventure in real time on the official website www.mvagusta.com

For the Model Year 2021, MV Agusta engineers have been working hard at improving comfort and aerodynamics protection. They also optimised torque and fuel consumption, making the renewed MV Agusta, which also features the new MV Ride App, possibly the most exclusive touring bike of all times. It certainly will be the most reliable, comfortable and stylish for Boni’s 2.000 km ramble across the old continent.

The New MV Agusta Brutale 1000 RR

208 “brutal” horsepower. An even more muscular engine, extended equipment and a more capable chassis. This is the new Brutale 1000 RR MY21 summed up in a single sentence. From the engine to the chassis, every area of the bike has been updated by way of the revamped electronics.

THE MAIN NEW FEATURES OF THE 2021 BRUTALE 1000

  • EURO 5 LOW-FRICTION ENGINE
  • REDESIGNED EXHAUST
  • NEW IMU INERTIAL PLATFORM
  • CONTINENTAL ABS WITH CORNERING FUNCTION
  • REDESIGNED FOOTPEGS

ENGINE, UNSTOPPABLE IMPROVEMENT
An MV Agusta exclusive not only in the segment but across today’s entire motorcycle panorama. The four cylinder with radial valves continues to undergo development with its components further improved to reduce internal friction.

An extremely high-performance engine that is particularly sophisticated in terms of its materials. The titanium con-rods, for example, are a unique element in the naked segment. Titanium is also used for the valves (intake as well as exhaust), an exclusive technical choice that not only ensures greater power, but also high engine speeds worthy of a true superbike. Timing is updated with the introduction of new cam phasing new camshafts that adopt new phasing in order to fill out the torque curve at medium/low rpm. The use of a DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coating for the valve tappets cuts down on friction and improves reliability. The addition of new primary drive gearing helps reduce friction between the gears, while overall transmission has been strengthened to improve reliability, especially during the impressive starts guaranteed by the Launch Control, while the EAS 3.0 electronic gearbox, now in its third generation, has a new sensor for more precise shifting and more comfortable insertion. The four-exit exhaust, an unmistakeable MV Agusta Brutale trademark, boasts a revised main manifold. The purpose? To emphasise the unmistakeable Brutale sound, while fully conforming to Euro 5 regulations

MORE COMPLETE ELECTRONICS
The electronics package of the new Brutale 1000 RR continues to reach new heights. The new IMU inertial platform allows for evaluating the bike’s real-time position, supplying very precise data to the ECU to swiftly manage every command.

Thanks to this new platform, traction and FLC wheelie controls are able to fully protect the rider’s safety while remaining “performance oriented”, offering the maximum possible acceleration in complete safety. Specifically, the FLC does not limit the wheelie, but controls it. The ABS boasts a new Continental MK100 module complete with cornering function to ensure ultimate braking control even at an angle. The comprehensive 5.5” TFT instrumentation, which communicates with the MV Ride app, allows the user to customise every aspect of the bike directly from their smartphone while also offering more ‘traditional’ functions, such as recording and sharing itineraries. Thanks to its mirroring function, the dashboard can be used as a navigator with turn-by-turn directions. Every function can be quickly accessed and navigated via the joystick on the left block. The TPMS sensor for monitoring tyre pressure is now available as an optional.

CHASSIS, MORE COMFORTABLE AND EFFICIENT
Radical, compact, and extremely light. The chassis of the MV Agusta Brutale RR has long topped the hypernaked segment.

Now, a few targeted structural updates make it even more ridable on narrow, uneven paths. The suspension boosts load transfer control and the ability to absorb rough surfaces, all of which makes the new 2021 Brutale 1000 RR even more effective on the road. The ultra-lightweight forged wheels emphasise its handling, while the full Brembo braking system with radial master cylinder and Stylema callipers is simply state of the art.

SUPERSTRUCTURE, EVERY DETAIL COUNTS
A unique and unmistakeable design does not need continual updates. The look of the Brutale 1000 RR remains unchanged, as do the distinctive lines and carbon elements, although on-going functional research has led to redesigned footpegs, now forged, for better riding control.

“You See A Bike”: In The Wings Of The Legend

MV Agusta celebrates its 75th anniversary by inviting 8 testimonials-extraordinaire to tell their own side of the tale in a fascinating documentary film.

Launching on June 3rd, at 8.30 PM on MV Agusta Youtube Channel

MV Agusta Motor S.p.A. is announcing the release of a 50 minutes documentary film to celebrate its 75th anniversary. The film is a behind-the-scenes, compelling account of what the Italian brand represents today and has achieved over more than seven decades, in the eyes of 8 testimonials-extraordinaire who each have crossed the path of the iconic bike from Schiranna in some significant way. The plot also develops along two other lines: the company’s own storytelling and an exciting introduction to the latest generation of MV Agusta bikes, with a strong focus on the future of the brand.

The title of the film, “You see a bike” expresses the idea that, beyond the unquestionable reality of the object, each and everyone of us sees, in that very bike, something different. The characters in the film share their own intimate view, offering a new, unexpected perspective on MV Agusta every time.

The narrative mechanism is revealed right from the opening lines: “A bike is never just a bike. You think you’re just looking at the surface, and you’re already looking behind. A lot of meanings come to life before your eyes, when you see a bike.” The viewer is thus taken into the fascinating universe of the characters, who share some very personal anecdotes about their relationship with the brand and motorcycling in general, intersected with MV Agusta’s insiders telling the story from the company’s point of view, while we also witness the birth of the brand’s latest iconic models.

Directed by Andrea Manenti and produced by Addiction-PianoB, You see a bike was shot between 2020 and 2021, in the midst of the pandemic, with all the technical difficulties that the situation entailed.  Nevertheless the result is a poignant, unconventional and captivating account of the past, present and future of the world’s most iconic maker of motorcycles. It was shot on location in Northern Italy, Australia and California, and the cast included: Horacio Pagani, founder and chief designer of Pagani Automobili; designer and bike maker Roland Sands; Ottavio Missoni, fashion entrepreneur; stunt rider Thibaut Nogues; MotoGP photographer Gigi Soldano; Motorcycling legend Giacomo Agostini, race rider Virginio Ferrari and celebrity DJ and producer Carl Cox. On MV Agusta’s side: CEO Timur Sardarov and board member Ratmir Sardarov; R&D director Brian Gillen, marketing director Filippo Bassoli and brand director Marta Trezzi.

The choice of characters was not casual, each and everyone of these individuals is universally recognised in a field that also belongs to MV Agusta’s DNA; design, lifestyle, industrial excellence and racing. These out-of-the-ordinary people were also able to create a strong sense of belonging to an ideal, just like the MV community, or better, tribe.

The film also shows how videogame designers from Milestone, makers of some of the world’s most successful racing titles, have gone about assimilating and incorporating MV Agusta models into their RIDE videogame. While gamification represents the ultimate consecration for any product or brand, it is also a very effective way to reach out to the new generations, part of MV Agusta’s strategic targets for the future.

Timur Sardarov, CEO of MV Agusta Motors S.p.A., commented: “I instantly liked this particular project for its different approach. It couldn’t be farther from the usual, trite corporate celebration of the past. This film is dynamic, it’s alive and fresh, it’s about our present, it’s about our products being avant-garde and forward looking, it’s about our enthusiasm and our confidence in the future. It also, and quite rightly, salutes our glorious heritage and the legacy of those who made MV Agusta a legend, but it also offers a privileged view on how we are today and what we stand for. We really bared our soul as a gift to all MV Agusta fans around the world, and explored the different facets of our world and the fundamental values that define us, with the help of external personalities who are champions of those same values in their own fields. I think the film is also enjoyable from an artistic point of view, and I am confident it will be appreciated across generations, bikers and non-bikers alike.

The New F3 ROSSO

The F3 is the newest member of the ROSSO line. The all-in-one fairing, clip-on handlebars, and undeniable MV Agusta character, in a more accessible package. The new 2021 F3 adds that extra something to the ROSSO range. The ultimate in MV Agusta sports attitude has never been so accessible.

THE MAIN NEW FEATURES OF THE F3 ROSSO MY21
• EURO 5 LOW-FRICTION ENGINE
• HIGH-PRESSURE INJECTORS
• BI-DIRECTIONAL FLOW RADIATOR
• REDESIGNED EXHAUST
• NEW IMU INERTIAL PLATFORM
• CONTINENTAL ABS WITH CORNERING FUNCTION
• 5.5” TFT DISPLAY

MV AGUSTA F3 ROSSO.
The F3 is the newest member of the ROSSO line. The all-in-one fairing, clip-on handle- bars, and undeniable MV Agusta character, in a more accessible package. The new 2021 F3 adds that extra something to the ROSSO range. The ultimate in MV Agusta sports attitude has never been so accessible.

MECHANICAL AND ELECTRONIC REVOLUTION
Like all three-cylinder platform bikes, the F3 receives a number of technical updates to improve its usability and performance for 2021.

While the goal of a supersport is ultimate performance, further heightened by the arrival of new engine components, the ROSSO has also seen MV Agusta technicians working to ensure riding pleasure on the road. Its sportiness remains obvious and pronounced. The chassis, unanimously considered the best in the segment, remains a point of reference. With the F3 ROSSO, the legend that is the MV Agusta sports bike is made available to a wide audience. Now MV Agusta’s refined design and exclusive technical details are available to a wider audience.

FRAME: ENHANCED EXCELLENCE
Long considered to be the best medium-sized supersport in terms of its chassis, the F3 takes another step forward for 2021. Redesigned frame plates and a particular focus on the swingarm connection area has led to increased torsional and longitudinal stiffness, characteristics that improve riding precision but also rider feeling.

AN EVEN MORE ADVANCED ENGINE
Unlike other bikes in the ROSSO range, the F3 doesn’t relinquish even a touch of the power that the famous “three-piston” engine complete with counter-rotating crankshaft is able to supply. The engine has undergone constant development work.

With maximum declared power of 147 HP, the MV Agusta three-cylinder is still one of the most powerful in the category. The meticulous work to refine the 2021 model – Euro5 homologated of course – has seen MV Agusta technicians further reduce internal friction by using a DLC treatment for the new buckets and new materials for the valve guides. While the valves are still titanium, the main bearings, rods and counter- shaft are new, redesigned to reduce friction and further improve reliability. The exhaust system has been completely overhauled, from manifold to silencer, with the aim of improving delivery to fill out the torque and power curves at all speeds. All without compromising the classic and unmistakeable sound of the MV Agusta three-piston. The injectors are also new, now able to handle an additional 0.5 bar of injection pressure. The ECU firmware is updated, as are the engine management logics and control algorithms, which make for more precise and refined throttle management. To improve cooling, a new bi-directional flow radiator is used for a 5% boost in efficiency.

QUICKER, MORE PRECISE GEARING
The clutch now has a reinforced clutch basket, boosted in terms of its manageability and quietness. The Quick-Shift EAS 3.0 with bi-directional function is now in its third generation and improves the quality of shifting, now softer and more precise thanks to the introduction of a new sensor.

ELECTRONICS, MORE COMPREHENSIVE THAN EVER
From the dashboard to the ABS, by way of the ECU commands and firmware, the electronics on the F3 ROSSO have really taken a step up.

The new IMU inertial platform, designed and developed in Italy by Milan firm e-Novia exclusively for MV Agusta, recognizes the position of the bike, for swift management of all controls based on the lean angle. The ABS, now developed by Continental, comes complete with cornering function while the TC traction control can intervene more precisely by considering the bike’s lean angle. The IMU also means that the updated FLC (front lift control) can manage a controlled wheelie rather than prevent it altogether. All this is controlled via a connected 5.5” TFT display that can communicate with the MV Ride App. This app (for IOS and Android) not only allows trip recording and sharing on the main social media platforms, but it also offers the ability to customise every aspect of the bike (including engine settings), directly from a smartphone. Thanks to the mirroring function, the rider now has navigation with turn-by-turn directions in addition to recording and sharing itineraries.

SUPERSTRUCTURES
As previously mentioned, the F3 ROSSO aims for maximum performance but also high- level usability on the road. As with every model in the ROSSO range, the colour RED dominates the superstructures, in this case, paired with the black of the engine, frame and wheels, for a truly aggressive visual impact.

Blast From The Past, MV Agusta Acquires Rare Racing Model

Thanks to Catawiki, the popular auction site, a 1950’s racing MV Agusta is being brought back to its former glory.

MV Agusta has recently acquired a 1950’s CSS 175/204cc racing model of the brand and is currently restoring it to its original condition. The extraordinary find was possible thanks to Catawiki, the popular online auction site specialised in rare and unique objects.

The bike was originally purchased in 1958 by British rider and collector Chris Newport. The seller was one Stanley Hailwood, father to motorcycling legend “Mike the bike” Hailwood, 9-time world champion and one of MV Agusta’s most acclaimed riders. Newport actually rode it in amateur races for a few years, in particular at Brands Hatch, before leaving it aside and eventually selling it. In 2012 it resurfaced in Holland, and was recently put up for auction on Catawiki. The gem was spotted by a member of MV Agusta management, who promptly secured the precious specimen.

Originally a 175cc, then modified into a 204cc, this bike is certainly an important piece of motorcycling history. To preserve its authenticity, in addition to the engine, most of the original parts had been kept, such as the TT Amal carburetors, here in a double racing configuration, the “green spot” Avon tyres, the Smiths racing rev counter or the great looking megaphone exhaust.

Timur Sardarov, CEO, MV Agusta Motor S.p.A., said: “We’re all very excited here at the Schiranna headquarters. This extraordinary bike is coming home to where it was born some 70 years ago! A magnificent first project for the newly born Restoration Department: we will now be able to bring precious vintage bikes back to their original condition here at the MV Agusta factory, through the work of the passionate heirs of the very craftsmen who built them.”

Davide Marelli, Catawiki’s motorcycles and mopeds expert said: “We are excited to have brought the motorcycle back to the manufacturer. This is an extremely rare collector’s item and what better place to exhibit it than in the MV Agusta company. Our platform hosts hundreds of auctions like this one every week, representing an absolute piece of Italian history, and attracting buyers from all over the world. As experts, we are committed to finding and offering to our customers the most sought-after pieces.”

MV Agusta’s celebration Superveloce 75 Anniversario sold-out within seconds of launch

To celebrate its 75th anniversary, MV Agusta announced the launch of a special, limited-series anniversary model, the Superveloce 75 Anniversario. Reservations officially opened online through the brand’s newly designed website on Sunday November 15 at 00.00 AM, and were originally planned to close exactly 75 hours later. Within seconds, the Superveloce 75 Anniversario had gone sold-out! Fans and collectors literally stormed the website to pre-book the entire production almost instantly. An unprecedented success for a superb bike celebrating MV Agusta’s legacy of leading-edge technology, passionate craftsmanship and timeless elegance, which will be produced in a limited series of only 75 units.

The already iconic Superveloce was chosen as the base for this anniversary collector’s bike as it represents the perfect balance between modern forms and MV Agusta’s racing legacy. The result is a truly beautiful bike, with its Italian flag colour scheme, the dedicated graphic detailing, the black and gold Inmotion spoke rims and the red Alcantara rider and passenger seats. The engine is the same F3 800-derived inline three-cylinder engine as the Superveloce, developing 147 hp at 13.000 rpm for top speeds of over 240 km/h.

Timur Sardarov, CEO MV Agusta Motor S.p.A., commented: ”I was convinced Superveloce 75 Anniversario would be a success, but I didn’t expect it to go sold-out in just a few seconds. To all those who did not manage to book one, I can only say that their enthusiasm and loyalty are a true inspiration for us all as we continue handcrafting, with immense pride and passion, our unique pieces of motorcycle art.”

MV Agusta Presents Its Exclusive Apparel Collection

In the year of its 75th anniversary, MV Agusta Motor S.p.A. has decided to celebrate its unique heritage with a dedicated, exclusive apparel collection which reflects the brand’s distinctive traits of uncompromising quality, timeless style and unrivalled elegance. Items in the collection, all 100% cotton, feature the 75th anniversary logo and come in MV Agusta’s black, grey and red traditional colours.

Besides the 75th anniversary collection, MV Agusta also presents 3 other distinct lines: Heritage, Rosso and Superveloce.

The Heritage line of T-shirts, polos and sweatshirts features classic designs and colour schemes that are reminiscent of the early, glorious racetrack days, yet retaining that timeless flair and refinement that make the Heritage Line apparel extremely modern and fashionable.

The Rosso line is particularly aimed at younger generation bikers, and is inspired by the Rosso Range models of the brand, taking a fresh, easygoing look on life. The T-shirts and sweaters’ colour schemes are dominated by the red and black of the Rosso Range liveries, with Rosso tags as a distinctive feature.

The Superveloce collection takes after the brand’s acclaimed instant classic model. The neo-retro look gives it a touch of nostalgia that blends in with the excitement of its undeniable contemporary appeal. Great attention was dedicated to details, such as the leather inserts, reminiscent of the Serie Oro model, and the embroidered logos and tags.

Claudio Quintarelli, Head of After Sales – MV Agusta Motor S.p.A. said: “I am thrilled about this new addition to our MV Agusta branded apparel offer. I love the idea of marking our 75th anniversary with an initiative that lets our fans around the world ideally take part in the celebrations by proudly wearing one of the special anniversary collection items. The quality of all the garments in the collection is simply superb, and their design truly lives up to MV Agusta’s standards of pure Motorcycle Art.”

MV Agusta Brutale 1000 RR

Based on the extraordinary Serie Oro, limited production has recently begun, the Brutale 1000 RR will bring the same nuances, and carefully balanced choices of style, technical components and dynamic development onto the road.

Confidence inspiring performance was one of the main priorities in designing the new Brutale 1000. Continual increases in maximum power of the more sports-oriented models has not been matched by a relative increase in ease of use on the road. This means that motorcycle designers have a responsibility to offer the customer the best possible conditions of: technology, style and ease of control. The goal is to get the best out of chassis, engine and electronics, with minimum effort from the rider, taking into account the exceptional performance levels of models such as the Brutale 1000 RR.

A spectacular Superbike replica. Naked. And available to all.

Design and details
The design draws on tight lines and forms which are perfectly integrated between the front and rear end: this balance has long been a distinctive trait of the four-cylinder Brutale, right from the first iconic model that marked the relaunch of the Italian brand along with the F4. The stand-out features, including headlight, fuel tank and tail fairing, have been designed and manufactured specifically for this new Brutale. The full-LED headlight uses Cornering Lights for improved illumination, managed from the inertial platform: the light beam, in fact, changes direction and angle based on the dynamic position of the bike. The headlight, that boasts an internal coloured X-shaped section, another exclusive feature, is enhanced by the Daylight Running Lights, designed to provide a lighting effect that makes the new Brutale unmistakable from any angle.

The emotional experience offered by the Brutale 1000 RR is the same as the Serie Oro: this is thanks to outfitting choices that make the two models virtually identical. The superstructures on the 1000 RR, for example, also use precisely modelled carbon-fibre elements, ideal to outline and enhance the frame and engine; although the exclusive “red wire” is reserved for the Serie Oro. The latter features a full kit of additional components: some of these can be purchased for the 1000 RR, such as GPS tracking, available as an original accessory. Another difference is seen in the bolts and screws, made of steel instead of titanium. The Serie Oro’s light carbon-fibre wheel rims have been replaced on the 1000 RR with forged aluminium components, featuring a special design and weight specifications that contribute to the optimal overall 186 kg dry weight.

The second generation 5” TFT display colour panel, with 800×480 pixel resolution, is the main interface between rider and the many customisable settings on the Brutale 1000 RR. Access to the numerous configuration menus is immediate via intuitive electric handlebar controls, that allow you to access the various sections without delay. Instrumentation allows Bluetooth connection with your smartphone to manage incoming calls, messages and music. Cruise control is also included, very handy also on a hyper naked motorcycle like the 1000 RR. The dashboard allows optimal use of the many functions offered by the MV Ride navigation app, that opens a world of possibilities. For example, bike electronics can be customised directly via smartphone, as well as creating and saving routes, which can then be shared with friends. Extremely useful navigation functions can also be immediately accessed via mirroring on the dashboard with the MV Ride App.

Engine and electronics
Like the Brutale 1000 Serie Oro, the 1000 RR engine represents the most recent evolution of the in-line, four-cylinder MV Agusta design. This new version stands out for its significant redesign, across all areas; the use of the finest materials; and complete review of electronic-management parameters which are greatly refined compared to previous versions. All of this makes this hyper naked bike the most powerful of its type in the world. In fact, the power and torque values set new records: 208 hp at 13,450 rpm and 116.5 Nm.

The radial valve timing and central timing chain, technical choices that have characterised all of the most recent MV Agusta four-cylinder engines, are used here following significant redesign, inspired by Formula 1 and MotoGP technology. Specifically, the radial valves in the combustion chamber uses F1 technology, whilst the titanium piston rods, typical in MotoGP vehicles, contribute to reducing mass, loads and inertia of the engine. The central timing chain is also a MotoGP-inspired component, and is capable of mitigating the torsion effects of camshafts at high rpm.

In addition, there are new valve guides and camshafts, with unprecedented new timing on both the intake and the exhaust side. The pistons use low-friction Asso piston rings, and there is a new crankshaft that is balanced to limit vibrations at low revs.

Based on MV Agusta’s direct experience in factory-derivative competition, it has created the new splitter lubrication system, which allows oil to be separated from moving mechanical parts. The semi-dry sump lubrication is capable of guaranteeing mechanical protection under extreme riding conditions such as during high lean angles and wheelies, yet without compromises in terms of reducing friction levels, that remain significantly low. A large portion of the design and development work has been focused on reducing friction levels, also in terms of the transmission, revamped with gears that reduce both friction and overall noise. This goal is supported by tone wheel and clutch covers that partially absorb noise.

Redesign of the airbox has been implemented by a complete redesign of the intake system: the ducts have different lengths to maximise engine efficiency, power and torque. The current structure features dual injectors per cylinder: four lower Mikuni and four upper Magneti Marelli shower head injectors, with greater capacity and positioned above the intake duct. The Arrow exhaust system uses the 4-1-4 set-up, with a throttle valve for maximum torque at lower RPM’s.

Electronic engine management has also evolved, thanks to collaboration with Eldor, which has created the new EM2.0 control unit specifically for this four-cylinder platform. The bike also features a full ride by wire multimap system (Sport, Race, Rain and Custom) with IMU inertial platform, which manages traction control with slip strategies (with eight different settings and the option to deactivate it) and modulates intervention based on lean-angle data provided by the IMU. The Front Lift Control, an evolution of the anti-wheelie system, has active and non-active options. Launch control is provided for starting, which acts on the engine revs and torque based on velocity during departure; the electronic EAS 2.1 Up&Down gearbox offers both comfort and ease of use.

Chassis, suspension and brakes
In true MV Agusta tradition, the frame on the new Brutale offers a highly evolved “mixed structure” with steel lattice and aluminium side plates, aligning it with engine performance and the requirements of increasingly sporty riding style that is also immediate and easy. The riding position is the product of careful ergonomic analysis, aimed to guarantee optimal vehicle control and comfort: the semi-clip on handlebars reveal the bike’s sporty calling. Careful attention to aerodynamics, fundamental for a bike that can reach a maximum speed of over 300 km/h, is clear from the aerodynamic wings positioned beside the radiators, to improve downforce and adding load to the front end, limiting lift at high speed. The effect can be clearly felt over 200 km/h and guarantees the steering precision typical of MV Agusta bikes.

The chassis dimensions are identical to those of the Serie Oro: compact wheelbase of 1,415 mm, with front wheel trail of 97 mm. The Öhlins Nix EC fork, with TIN surface treatment features electronic adjustment of the hydraulic brake in application and release. Adjustment of the spring preload is manual. The same electronic management is offered by the Öhlins TTX rear shock absorber fixed to the aluminium single-sided swing arm and the Öhlins EC electronic steering damper, that continually adjusts on the basis of the bike’s speed and is fixed by supports specially designed for the new Brutale.

The braking system is the same as the Serie Oro, with the prestigious Brembo Stylema front callipers, radial callipers and 320 mm diameter floating discs. The rear disc is 220 mm and is combined with a dual-piston calliper. Electronic management is assigned to the ABS Bosch 9 Plus system with Race Mode, particularly light and effective.
