New Ninja ZX-6R for 2024 Kawasaki range

An iconic name appears in the Kawasaki motorcycle range for the 2024 sales season with the announcement of a new Ninja ZX-6R and its tagline “Supersport Obsession”.

Boasting a number of features not so far seen on the much-loved Supersport middleweight in previous iterations, the 2024 model has both technical and styling updates ready to satisfy the needs of even the most demanding street or track day rider. And with the aid of Kawasaki’s iconic Ram Air system a stunning maximum of 95.2 kW {129 PS} is produced at 13,000 rpm.

The most obvious aspect of the new machine is the distinctive aero-winglet equipped Ninja “face” with purposeful aggressive lines incorporating for the first time hybrid projector/reflector headlights (part of a complete LED lighting package), and a new sports windshield equipped with special cut outs to reduce buffeting. The entire bodywork for 2024 uses interwoven layers to create a 3D effect, with the multiple layers adding to a high-class design.

In terms of the cockpit area, a new 4.3inch (11cm) colour TFT meter makes its debut and also facilitates Smartphone connectivity via Kawasaki’s Rideology App. Information updates such as a shift light, Kawasaki service reminder, oil change reminder, Riding Mode indicator, Smartphone call and mail notices are all available. Also featured – along with all the familiar vehicle status updates – are a Bluetooth indicator and an Economical Riding Indicator.

From a technical perspective, the famous and highly praised 636 cm3 liquid-cooled, 4-stroke in-line four forms the core of the machine and now features revised cam profiles to satisfy stricter emission regulations plus revised intake funnels and revised header and collector pipes all combining to benefit low- to mid-rpm performance.

A move to round over petal discs reflects the current Ninja ZX-10R family image while such items as the SFF-BP (Separate function fork with big piston), KQS Kawasaki Quick Shifter, three mode KTRC traction control and both power modes and integrated riding modes underpin the high specification of this Superport legend.

Rolling on Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres, the 2024 Ninja ZX-6R will be available in two colourways for the upcoming season, a green version (naturally!) in Lime Green/Ebony plus a more “stealth” version combining Metallic Graphite Gray and Metallic Diablo Black. For sure Kawasaki dealers and loyal fans of the Ninja family will welcome the sight of a new and comprehensively updated Ninja ZX-6R for 2024 keeping the Ninja flame burning brightly.

The 2024 Ninja ZX-6R will be available from October and priced at £10,599

Triumph Thruxton RS Review

Many thanks to Triumph UK I spent three weeks with this beautiful machine which culminated with The Distinguished Gentlemans Ride in West Sussex.

As it come down the ramp my first impression is it’s a well made, beautiful looking and throaty sounding modern classic bike, here my quick review.

The Triumph Thruxton has been an iconic motorcycle since its first release in the 60’s. The Thruxton was named after the famous Thruxton Circuit, where Triumph had a lot of success. Fast forward to today, and the latest version of the Thruxton, the RS, is a modern classic that pays homage to its rich history while incorporating the latest technology and engineering.

The Thruxton RS is powered by a 1200cc parallel-twin engine that produces 103 horsepower, this engine is mated to a six-speed transmission and is capable of reaching a stated top speed of 140 mph.

The Thruxton RS has a classic design that is inspired by the original Thruxton café racer. It features a low-slung café racer-style seat (no pillion), a classic round headlight, and a sleek fuel tank. The bike also features a modern digital instrument cluster, LED lighting, and a single-sided swingarm.

The engine is ready to unleash its power whenever you command it to do so and the sporty suspension setup further enhances the riding experience, especially along the tricky bends. The rear Ohlins dampers are adjustable and combined with the front Showa forks, the bike delivers quite a planted ride on uneven surfaces despite its suspension being oriented towards athletic characteristics.

The Thruxton RS is equipped with a range of modern features that make it a great choice for riders who want a classic look with modern performance. Suffice to say that Thruxton RS would be easy to manage in the dense city areas, but it is on the highways where it truly shines. The bike also has a range of rider aids, including ABS, and a traction control system.

The Thruxton RS is a great choice for riders who want a powerful and stylish motorcycle. Its classic café racer styling is sure to turn heads, while its modern features and powerful engine make it a great choice for both experienced and novice riders. With its combination of power and style, the Triumph Thruxton RS is sure to be a hit with riders of all levels.

My Conclusion
Overall, the Triumph Thruxton RS ticks all the vital boxes and delivers great value for its price which may seem a bit on the higher side to some, but the flawless finishing and the fun riding experience make up for it.

As for the riding experience, the Thruxton RS combines the best of both aggressive riding experience and traditional café racer goodness. If you’re looking for a classic cafe racer look with modern features, then the Thruxton RS is an obvious choice.

Like with the Triumph Bobber this is a naked bike so once you take it above say 50 mph you will get buffeted about. You could invest in their Dolphin fairing but personally I think it ruins the looks but each to their own.

The Triumph Thruxton RS is now officially my 2nd favourite modern classic coming in a very close 2nd to the Triumph Bonneville Bobber.

Thanks to Ells from Ride and Rest for his insta 360 footage whilst in the DGR

As earlier stated I took part in the The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride in West Sussex for the first time. To be perfectly honest I’m not a group rider more of a solo rider, I like to go at my own pace so I was apprehensive at taking part in the DGR. I have to say I really enjoyed the ride everyone was courteous, no overtaking at speed etc. My only issue on the ride with Thruxton was there was a lot of stop and start due to traffic and found the bike was getting quite hot.

Change Has Come With Husqvarna Motorcycles

Change has come with Husqvarna Motorcycles unveiling new generation enduro models for 2024.

All-new platform and multiple technical advancements raise the bar for next level enduro performance.

Allowing riders to master terrain like never before, Husqvarna Motorcycles’ all-new 2024 TE and FE machines set a new standard for riding offroad. Expertly crafted with new frames, subframes, bodywork, suspension, and brakes, the extended list of shared innovations across the new enduro platform was introduced to further improve overall rideability. With every model continuing to deliver outstanding performance, riders will undoubtedly embrace and benefit from the technical changes made to all seven class-leading machines.

Offering predictable damping, the new enduro-specific WP suspension allows riders to conquer technical sections with complete confidence and control. The WP XACT Closed Cartridge spring forks incorporate a mid-valve piston for smooth action and consistent performance, while a hydrostop in the final 68 mm of travel helps to maintain forward momentum. A redesigned WP XACT shock features a new piston to improve comfort and is 100 g lighter and 15 mm shorter while retaining 300 mm of travel. Both the fork and shock settings can be adjusted by hand for a fast and easy personalised set-up.

Designed to work in perfect harmony with the WP suspension is a new chromium molybdenum steel frame. Improving anti-squat behaviour and offering revised flex characteristics, the chassis, which includes a new and much more durable hybrid subframe, guarantees each machine delivers exceptionally agile handling with confidence-inspiring straight-line stability.

Wrapped around the new chassis is new bodywork that is adorned with modern, Swedish-inspired graphics and a new high-grip seat cover. Offering an improved ‘rider triangle’, to ensure more knee contact and therefore better control, the slim design of the bodywork also offers complete freedom of movement when riding while standing up. The updated bodywork is completed by a redesigned headlight, producing a brighter light output and is installed using a much more efficient and user-friendly mounting system.

For the new generation, the TE 150, TE 250 and TE 300 2-stroke models are now powered by new engines, fuelled using Throttle Body Injection (TBI) technology. Introduced to ensure these lightweight machines maintain their best-in-class performance, TBI guarantees a much more consistent and controllable spread of power throughout the rev range, even in the toughest of conditions.

The FE 250 and FE 350 machines benefit from new and much more compact DOHC engines. These are positioned in the frame two degrees backwards when compared to the previous generation, which further centralises mass and contributes to the improved anti-squat behaviour of the chassis. In addition, both engines are designed to position all major components as centrally as possible for improved handling and to generate maximum torque and power.

All models in the range take the enduro riding experience to new levels thanks to advanced electronics. The EMS (engine map selection) allows each machine to offer two pre-set riding maps to suit varying terrain, with each gear selected engaging a tailored power delivery. The 4-stroke models offer additional rider aids including Traction Control and a Quickshifter for positive upshifts, even under heavy load.

The line-up is complete with premium components shared across the range including a new LED headlight, enhanced BRAKTEC brakes with high performance GSK discs, a combined start/stop button, ProTaper handlebars, and Michelin enduro tyres.

On the global racing stage, Billy Bolt’s most recent success clearly underlines Husqvarna Motorcycles’ reputation as a highly competitive manufacturer. Competing in the FIM SuperEnduro World Championship, the Husqvarna Factory Racing star secured his third consecutive title indoors to once again demonstrate the exceptional capability of the FE 350.

Special Liveries for the Official WorldSBK and MotoGP Teams for the Misano Races

The return of Giallo Ducati: special liveries for the official WorldSBK and MotoGP teams for the Misano races.

Ducati pays tribute to its history in the world of racing by announcing that both the official WorldSBK (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati Team) and MotoGP (Ducati Lenovo Team) teams will compete in the Misano rounds of their respective World Championships with a special livery characterized by the return of Giallo Ducati colour.

The project was presented during a press conference held at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli in which Centro Stile Ducati Director Andrea Ferraresi took part together with the Italian designer Aldo Drudi, the man who created the special livery . The unveiling for the fans took place shortly before the formation lap of Race-1 of the Italian WorldSBK round, when the Aruba.it Racing – Ducati Team opened the garage door and the official riders, World Champion Alvaro Bautista and teammate Michael Ruben Rinaldi, entered the track astride their respective Panigale V4 R in Giallo Ducati with race suits coordinated with the shades of the bike.

Yellow is a colour that has an important tradition in the history of the Bologna-based motorcycle manufacturer. The first sport motorcycles in this colour date back to the first half of the ’70s (the 750 Sport and 750 SS Desmo of the Spaggiari team), but it was in the ’90s that Giallo Ducati, the colour that specifically inspired this livery, had the moment of greatest popularity with the adoption in the world of racing, which then extended to series production. The memorable models in Giallo Ducati certainly include the Ducati 748, whose racing version took Paolo Casoli to victory in the 1997 edition of the Supersport World Series, without forgetting superbikes such as the 916, 996, 749, 999 and other various models in the range.

“Ducati has an extraordinary history of which its passionate fans are extremely proud. The yellow colour is an important part of this and we have chosen to celebrate it through a contemporary livery full of energy. – declared Andrea Ferraresi, Ducati Centro Stile Director – Colour is an essential ingredient for brand recognition and a fundamental element for all Ducatisti. Ducati is Red, but Yellow also belongs to us and at the same time has an important tradition in Italian motorsport. Giallo Ducati reflects important aspects of our identity, such as energy, enthusiasm and audacity and is a really nice tribute to our sporting history in the year in which we race as World Champions in the two most important motorcycle championships”.

From a chromatic point of view, the livery of the Panigale V4 R of the Aruba.it Racing – Ducati Team has been designed starting from the original graphic base. Giallo Ducati becomes the dominant colour of the bike and is crossed by black, grey and white blocks and lines, creating a combination that celebrates the sporting history of the Bologna-based motorcycle manufacturer, but at the same time gives Giallo Ducati a modern identity.

New Yamaha Ténéré 700 World Rally

Yamaha’s ultimate high specification long distance adventure bike.

The new Ténéré 700 World Rally represents the ultimate version of Yamaha’s long distance adventure bike and can trace its heritage back to the very beginning of the world’s toughest race.

The story began back in 1979 when Yamaha won the first ever Dakar Rally. Inspired by this success and encouraged by the growing interest in long distance rally events, the company embarked upon the development of a machine that would forever change the motorcycle world.

Introduced in 1983, the original Ténéré is recognised as one of the most influential and iconic motorcycles of the 20th century. Equipped with a large capacity fuel tank, rugged chassis and high torque engine, Yamaha’s first ever Adventure bike gave thousands of riders the opportunity to go to faraway places and discover new horizons.

No other Adventure bike comes close to matching the pure racing heritage of the legendary Yamaha Ténéré. Not only did it enable a whole new breed of moto adventurers to live their dreams – it also inspired many riders to compete in the world’s toughest Rally events that have tested the rider and machine to the limit.

Team Yamaha’s annual Dakar campaigns witnessed some incredible performances by desert specialists including Yamaha Motor France CEO Jean Claude Olivier – and of course desert legend Stéphane Peterhansel who took six victories with Yamaha and ensured his name will live forever in the record books. To pay tribute to these riders and the machines they rode, Yamaha is launching a special version of the Ténéré that blends true racing heritage with modern day performance.

Tenere World Rally 2023 with Stephane Peterhansel livery of 1993 XT750 Super Tenere

Ténéré 700 World Rally – the premium desert stormer
Featuring iconic factory racing colours inspired by Stéphane Peterhansel’s 1993 Dakar race bike, the new Ténéré 700 World Rally is the most exclusive model in the 2023 Yamaha Adventure range, celebrating Yamaha’s remarkable Rally performances with a range of different Ténéré models over the past 40 years.

Its rally-ready specification includes premium long travel KYB suspension systems, as well as 23-litre dual side-mounted fuel tanks, an exclusive Akrapovič titanium muffler and a dedicated flat 2-piece seat – and there’s also a 5-inch colour TFT meter with smartphone connectivity, 3-mode switchable ABS and an Öhlins adjustable steering damper.

Historic Yamaha Rally Racing colours
With its bold new blue, pink fluo and silver historic rally racing colours based on the design used on Stéphane Peterhansel’s 1993 factory bike, the Ténéré 700 World Rally celebrates Yamaha’s winning Dakar history and pays homage to all of the heroic factory riders who have ridden in the world’s toughest event. The same colours will be used by Yamaha riders Alessandro Botturi and Pol Tarrés in their 2023 race programme where they will test their Ténéré factory bikes to the limit.

Lightweight Akrapovič slip-on muffler
Premium components feature throughout this new flagship Adventure bike. The exclusive slip-on Akrapovič muffler accentuates the high torque feeling and distinctive roar coming from the 270-degree crank CP2 engine and highlights this exclusive machine’s best-in-class specification.

23-litre dual side-mounted fuel tanks

Yamaha’s winning Dakar bikes pioneered the company’s use of long range fuel tanks, so the Ténéré 700 World Rally is equipped with the latest race developed 23-litre fuel tanks that give great autonomy for long distance rides.

The bulk of the fuel is carried as low as possible in order to achieve mass centralisation for agile handling and the top of the tanks is positioned lower than the standard Ténéré for easy rider mobility.

High specification 43 mm KYB front forks, 230 mm travel

The premium suspension systems on the Ténéré 700 World Rally are designed to offer excellent handling performance when riding off road for long periods of time. The black coloured 43mm KYB front forks are fully adjustable for spring preload, as well as compression and rebound damping – enabling the rider to dial them in to match different loads, terrain and speeds. And with 230 mm of travel, the World Rally is equipped to take on the toughest off road terrain.

Aluminium piggyback rear shock, 220 mm travel

The adjustable rear suspension system is matched to the high specification front end and features a competition quality aluminium body with a piggyback reservoir that ensures consistent damping performance. Featuring a special linkage and large bump stop, the World Rally’s shock gives 220 mm rear wheel travel.

Öhlins adjustable steering damper

With 18 different settings, the lightweight Öhlins adjustable steering damper provides added confidence and controllability when the going gets tough and enables the rider to get the most from the premium suspension systems.

Flat rally inspired 2-piece seat

With its 2-piece design, the flat rally inspired seat can accommodate the fitment of a rack or luggage by removing the rear section. The flat profile ensures easy rider mobility and effortless front/rear weight shifting, while its dual black-grey material construction gives a firm yet comfortable ride. For added exclusivity, the seat also features the World Rally logo.

5-inch colour TFT with mobile connectivity and 3 themes

Ténéré 700 World Rally riders have a choice of three switchable screen styles – digital, analogue or roadbook style – and the connected 5-inch colour TFT display can also be linked to a smartphone with the free MyRide app, enabling the display of text messages and incoming call notifications on the screen.

3-mode switchable ABS

The World Rally’s 3-mode switchable ABS gives the rider total flexibility in choosing how they want the bike to behave on a variety of surfaces. Mode 1 is fully on, with ABS working on both wheels – a legal requirement on public roads. Mode 2 is front wheel on and rear wheel off, giving added confidence on loose gravel tracks – and Mode 3 is fully off, giving the rider ultimate controllability when riding in the dirt.

Guaranteed fun with the Hypermotard 950 RVE

Guaranteed fun with the Hypermotard 950 RVE and the new Graffiti Livery Evo livery.

The Hypermotard 950 is Bologna’s fun bike designed for all enthusiasts who want to be the protagonists of adrenaline-pumping adventures together with their bike. Sporty and fun, the Hypermotard combines exuberant performance with refined electronics that guarantee full control in every situation.

Inspired by the world of supermotards, the Hypermotard 950 is a bike with a young character that makes fun its main feature. The aggressive look invites you to get on the saddle for a riding experience of pure pleasure, supported by the latest generation Ducati technology.

For 2024, the Hypermotard 950 RVE version changes its look and is updated with new graphics called Graffiti Livery Evo.

The new livery uses water decals with the aim of obtaining a refined and complex graphic design which, as for the previous livery, is inspired by works of street art. The graphics involve the entire bike, thus creating an effect comparable to that of airbrush painting. The RVE logo, placed on the rear sides, is a further detail that identifies the new Graffiti Livery Evo livery.

The Hypermotard 950 transmits lightness and essentiality thanks to its clean shapes and taut lines. The reference to the supermotard world can be found in the high double exhaust, in the straight saddle profile and in the extreme proportions of the bike, which communicate agility and adrenaline, even when stationary. In addition to the RVE version in Graffiti Livery Evo, the Hypermotard family is made up of the standard 950 version, available in Ducati Red, and the SP version. The latter further accentuates the sporty character of the Hypermotard thanks to its Öhlins suspension with increased travel, forged Marchesini wheels and Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) Up and Down EVO as standard (the latter also standard on the Hypermotard 950 RVE).

The modern and sophisticated electronic sector of the Hypermotard 950 is made up of ABS Cornering Bosch EVO, integrated with the Slide by Brake function which allows controlled powersliding when entering corners in safety, and Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) EVO, which can always be monitored by the 4.3” TFT display. The rider is also free to customise his riding styles and restore the operating parameters set by Ducati on the three Riding Modes Sport, Touring and Urban.

The Hypermotard family is equipped with the 937 cc Ducati Testastretta 11° twin-cylinder engine which reaches 114 hp at 9,000 rpm, while 80% of the torque is available at 3,000 rpm. All versions of the range – Hypermotard 950, 950 SP and 950 RVE – are available in depowered 35 KW versions, ideal for A2 license holders.

Accessories for Hypermotard 950
The style of your Hypermotard 950 can be made even more dynamic thanks to the Style and Sport packages and the numerous Ducati Performance accessories, designed to enhance the fun-bike’s aesthetics and versatility. From the homologated Termignoni silencers with titanium sleeve of the Sport package to the carbon fibre tank guard of the Style package, passing through the passenger grab handles and the soft tank bag: every Ducatista can choose and view their favourite accessories in the “Configurator” section of the Ducati.com website.
To reflect the energetic soul of the Hypermotard 950 in full Ducati style, a wide range of suits, jackets and helmets is available on the website Shop.Ducati.com, ready to satisfy the needs and tastes of all enthusiasts.

Hypermotard protagonist of the DRE
Young motorcyclists who ride depowered versions are at the centre of the DRE Rookie, the DRE Academy course that teaches them to acquire a safe and enjoyable riding style, bringing the concept of safety in the saddle to young people. The Hypermotard 950 and the SP version are also the protagonists of the DRE Road, the exclusive course that combines theory lessons and practice on the track to hone one’s riding skills.

Fun Is A Serious Thing: Here Is The New Caballero 700

Eagerly awaited by the market, the Caballero 700 finally arrives equipped with a twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled CP2 engine. It’s a motorcycle that goes big. Yet the Caballero 700 does not distort the extraordinary features of its 125 and 500cc ‘mono’ siblings, on the contrary, it is even more of an authentic scrambler, thanks to exceptional performance, riding pleasure, technology and safety. It’s even more fun.

Fantic has chosen Valdobbiadene and Conegliano (TV) as the venue to present its new jewel. Le Colline del Prosecco di Conegliano e Valdobbiadene, a site on UNESCO’s World Heritage List, in fact the home to the same foothills in which Fantic’s test riders have developed this and most other of Fantic’s road models, riding directly from the Fantic Motor Headquarters.

FANTIC CABALLERO 700
Caballero 700 is an entirely new project: with not a single bolt in common with its smaller brothers, but the soul has remained the same: easy, agile, light and extremely fun. From the performance – thanks to the fantastic 689cc parallel twin-cylinder engine – to the electronic package, through to the top-level chassis, everything has been the subject of a deep study by Fantic’s R&D department.

Only one fundamental characteristic has remained the same, the perfect balance between road and off-road fun, as befits an authentic scrambler. Caballero 700 is the only model in the segment to boast a set of parameters that allow it to tackle roads and trails without worries: 19″ and 17” wire-spoked wheels and optimised suspension combined with a weight of only 175kg (without fuel) make for agility, safety and precision riding on any terrain.

The styling is inspired by one of the most famous versions in Caballero’s history: the 125 RC from 1974 to 1976. At first glance, the Caballero 700 is easily recognisable due to its pure and simple lines, carefully crafted by the Fantic Style Centre. Iconic elements such as the red tank, round headlamps and yellow competition plates on the side panels blend with modern touches such as the CNC-machined engine plates and triple clamps, and the carbon protection of the exhaust system. In addition to the classic red colour, there is also a matt metallic blue, again linked to the Caballero’s history.

PERFORMANCE
The range’s flagship is equipped with Yamaha’s much-revered CP2 parallel twin, which for the first time leaves Japanese models to embrace an Italian chassis. The perfect power to have fun on- and off-road, 74hp at 9000rpm, comes with a new robust torque curve delivering strongly throughout the rev range: 60Nm constant up to 8000rpm, with a peak of 70Nm at 6500rpm.

These values result from lengthy design and calibration development across the entire exhaust and intake systems which feature a unique airbox and engine mapping. The Caballero 700 delivers exceptional performance and gratifying power output, rendering it an ideal choice for mid-range journeys. Its cosy seat provides ample room for a fellow traveller.

CHASSIS
The Caballero 700’s excellent chassis balance comes from a new high-resistance steel frame and a swingarm machined from a high-quality aluminium casting. Marzocchi suspension consists of a robust 45mm upside-down fork and a preload-adjustable monoshock. The suspension settings and 150mm of travel are the result of an optimisation and balance found after countless kilometres of riding in all conditions: fast tracks, motorways, twisty mixed roads, dirt roads, and offroad paths.

The Caballero 700 also delivers exceptional braking performance. This bike can easily handle any road thanks to a powerful combination of a 330mm disc and Brembo 4-piston calipers up front and 240mm disc with Brembo caliper at the rear.

SAFETY
The Caballero 700 is the first Fantic to offer cornering ABS and traction control as standard. The refined inertial measurement unit (IMU) enables bike control even with the bike leaning over, offering precise and reliable electronic intervention. Both controls can be fully deactivated should the riding conditions require it, such as in the most demanding off-road conditions.

ELECTRONICS
The Caballero 700 is equipped with a state-of-the-art electronics package. It is the world’s first scrambler with an iconic round 3.5″ TFT screen with integrated Bluetooth for controlling calls and media. Through the screen and the handlebar-mounted switch blocks, it is possible to select the three Riding Modes: STREET, OFFROAD (specifically designed for when leaving the usual roads), and CUSTOM, which allows the rider to configure all the ABS cornering and Traction Control settings as wished, up to complete deactivation.

Dunlop to join Harley-Davidson’s 120th anniversary celebration

Dunlop will celebrate its history and collaboration with the iconic motorcycle manufacturer Harley-Davidson when it attends HD120 in Budapest on 22nd to 25th June.

2023 marks the 120th anniversary of the motorcycle manufacturer, which it is set to celebrate with the HD120 event at the Puskás Aréna in Budapest.

HD120 follows on from previous successful HD anniversary events in Prague and Rome, at which Dunlop also had a strong presence. The anniversary celebrations bring together the community of motorcycle enthusiasts with a shared passion for the Harley-Davidson brand.

Dunlop will have a significant presence at HD120, with a large activation next to the main stage. As an official partner, Dunlop will display some of its latest products at the event, including its flagship range of Harley-Davidson co-branded tires, developed in collaboration with the manufacturer to extract the desired riding feel and characteristics that make Harley-Davidsons so iconic.

Part of the activation includes the Dunlop APE Hanger Challenge, where visitors can test their strength against fellow riders and enthusiasts. A set of Dunlop tires are available to win on each day of the festival.

Next to the Harley-Davidson service area, Dunlop will offer full tire service options in cooperation with Harley-Davidson official service. Riders can also receive a tire health check or leave with a brand new set of Dunlop tires.

Two powerful icons. One powerful partnership.

This year also marks 40 years of Dunlop and Harley-Davidson’s relationship. In 1983, Dunlop first partnered to fit Sportster and FL models. The event is set to celebrate motorcycle culture and heritage, with live music, food and competitions.

Dunlop’s motorcycle heritage dates back to the late 1800s and, while bikes may have become more powerful, the Dunlop philosophy remains the same – to stay ahead of the competition by pursuing innovation.

During its 40-year partnership, Dunlop has gripped some of Harley-Davidson’s most successful bikes, such as the Fat Boy, Softail and Sportster ranges. Today, Dunlop produces a number of bespoke tires across Harley-Davidson’s diverse range.

Luca Davide Andreoni, Marketing Manager, Dunlop Motorcycle Europe: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to join Harley-Davidson on such a momentous occasion. With a relationship that stretches over 40 years, not only are we celebrating the heritage of both brands, but we’re also looking ahead to further strengthening our partnership.

“We cannot wait to be among our customers and the wider biker community in June to celebrate. Dunlop’s display will feature exciting activities, prize giveaways and inspire riders.”

The 2024 KTM EXC Range is Here To Redefine Limits

Sporting 95% new components, the 2024 KTM EXC range is moving the goalposts further than ever before. Featuring an all-new frame, revolutionary closed-cartridge suspension, refined bodywork, LED headlight, and industry-defining technology, the latest generation of KTM Enduro machines are ready to accept any challenge.

With over three decades of racing experience and more than 126 World Enduro titles in the trophy cabinet, KTM has remained the weapon of choice when it comes to taking on the world’s toughest races. For the 2024 model year, the KTM EXC nameplate continues to raise the bar in the areas of performance, development and innovation with its most radical transformation to date.

An all-new hydro-formed, laser-cut and robot-welded frame forms the backbone of the 2024 KTM Enduro range. This brings new longitudinal and torsional flex parameters for unmatched rider feedback, energy absorption, and straight-line stability to the riding experience but also provides the foundation on which the 2024 model range is built.

Upfront, the KTM EXC and EXC-F range now boast an all-new 48 mm WP XACT Closed Cartridge spring fork, featuring a new mid-valve piston concept that optimises oil flow within the cartridge.

The KTM Enduro models continue to feature the proven PDS shock system, updated for 2024 in the form of a new WP XPLOR PDS rear shock, optimised to work fluidly with the new frame concept.

As an industry first, the suspension at both ends remains fully adjustable for compression and damping by way of hand clickers, without the need for any tools, allowing easy preload adjustability on the rear.

An all-new lightweight 2-piece subframe constructed from a combination of polyamide and reinforced aluminum delivers outstanding handling and rider feedback, as well as remarkable robustness. All electronic components, including an all-new Offroad Control Unit, are fully integrated into the subframe for easy access and improved protection.

More notably, the 2024 KTM EXC range benefits from new bodywork all around. This has been developed with input from the Red Bull KTM Factory Riders to deliver an improved rider triangle for better knee contact, especially when standing on the pegs.

A new front fender design now also features mud-repelling fins for expelling dirt and mud from hitting the rider or radiators, while a new 8.3 litre – 4-stroke – and 8.9 liter – 2-stroke – transparent, polythene (XPE) fuel tanks provide easy fuel level monitoring and complete the bodywork package.

Monitoring the electronics comes courtesy of a totally independent OCU under the seat, which replaces the use of electronic fuses and relays. In the event of any electrical component failure, the outputs are deactivated individually, with the error status of each unit indicated by a red or green LED light. This makes for quick and easy troubleshooting while out on the trail.

In terms of engines, the 2-stroke model range once again takes its place as the leader of the oil-burner paddock, debuting new electronic Throttle Body Injection technology, or TBI for short. It provides levels of ultra-smooth power deivery, reminiscent of carburettor performance, while eliminating the need for re-jetting at different altitudes.

The reed valve case has also received an important design update, with new plastic flaps on the outside of the reed valve case for improved sealing of the intake tract. This new design avoids fuel excess in extreme up or downhill sections, which could lead to the fuelling running rich.

A beneficial side effect of the new electronic fuel injection and the ECU is implementing the new electronic exhaust control, allowing for two different engine maps, selectable via an optional Map Select switch.

The 2024 KTM EXC 2-stroke range will once again consist of the following model line-up:
● KTM 150 EXC – £8,949.00
● KTM 250 EXC – £9,949.00
● KTM 300 EXC – £10,149.00

The 4-stroke model range provides the most concise offering of models. All models in the 4-stroke range benefit from class-winning engines, engineered to deliver massive torque down low with an explosive power delivery at higher RPMs.

An improved centre of gravity was achieved by tilting the engine 2° backward and repositioning the front sprocket 3 mm lower, for greatly improved handling and maneuverability. Together with the benefits of mass centralisation and reduced weight, the anti-squat behavior of the chassis was significantly improved, making for improved traction on extreme inclines and powering out of corners in special enduro stages.

The 2024 KTM EXC-F also debuts the optional addition of Traction Control and for the first time ever on an enduro machine – a Quickshifter function. The latter makes for clutchless upshifts from 2nd to 6th gear, allowing riders to keep the throttle pinned open while changing through the gears for improved control. These features can be switched on or off via an optional and newly designed Map Select Switch.

The 2024 KTM EXC-F 4-stroke range consists of the following models:
● KTM 250 EXC-F – £10,449.00
● KTM 350 EXC-F – £10,649.00
● KTM 450 EXC-F – £10,949.00
● KTM 500 EXC-F – £11,149.00

The 2024 KTM EXC range is the culmination of many years at the top end of Enduro competition, bringing together a dynamic combination of race-bred performance, ergonomics and technology, to challenge any terrain and redefine the limit.

As always, and thanks to KTM’s global networks of dealers, the availability of support and parts needed to compete at the highest level is easily accessible, with the added availability of dedicated KTM PowerWear and KTM PowerParts, both of which have been designed to further increase the highest levels of performance, protection and mobility for all offroad riders and racers.

The all-new 2024 KTM EXC and EXC-F range will be available at authorised KTM dealers in the UK from June onwards. For more information, visit ktm.com

Even more style for the Monster range with the new Iceberg White livery

With a sporty engine, rich in torque and perfect for road use, the Monster is Ducati’s naked sports bike par excellence. A bike for everyone, which guarantees ease of riding without any compromise in terms of fun and performance.

Ideal for those approaching the world of two wheels for the first time as well as for already expert motorcyclists, the Monster combines compactness and lightness in a modern formula that renews the naked sports concept invented by Ducati. High-level performance, always manageable thanks to cutting-edge electronics, is combined with a modern and elegant style. At the same time, the Monster retains the DNA of the first generation of 1993: the Testastretta 11° engine combined with a frame that follows Superbike concepts, the aluminium Front Frame inspired by the Panigale V4. Everything you need to have fun on your motorbike.

For 2024  Ducati has updated the colour range of the Monster with the Iceberg White livery, which is added to the Ducati Red and Aviator Grey colours. The new livery is also available for the Plus version, characterized by the addition of a front fairing and passenger seat cover that make the Monster even sportier.

The new livery enhances the essential and clean lines of the Monster thanks to the combination of cold white Iceberg White and Ducati Red chosen for the seat finish; the combination of the two colours creates a refined and contemporary look. A sporty touch is given by the red tags on the wheels.

The Monster makes lightness one of its strengths. Each component has been designed to have the lowest possible weight, from the aluminium Front Frame to the tail fixed directly to the engine, for an overall reduction of weight of 18 Kg compared to the previous generation. The result is a nimble and compact motorcycle, capable of moving easily in traffic and at the same time guaranteeing full control in every situation.

The ease of riding the Monster is supported by a comfortable position, designed to make the rider always feel at home. The 820 mm height of the saddle from the ground and the narrow sides of the bike allow you to rest your feet easily on the ground, while the position of the footrests and handlebars facilitates relaxation of the torso and legs. A comfortable riding set-up that multiplies the possibilities of having fun at any riding level.

The modern and sophisticated design focuses on the essential and enhances the distinctive features of the Monster. While the front view of the bike is dominated by the full LED projector, the rear instead sees a short and sporty tail, with two painted side panels inspired by the Panigale V4. In the centre, the Monster’s unmistakable curved and muscular fuel tank.

The electronics of the Monster are of the latest generation. The standard equipment includes ABS Cornering, Traction Control and Wheelie Control, adjustable on different levels of intervention; all the useful information for riding is clearly visible on the 4.3” colour TFT display. The sporty nature of the Monster is also enhanced by the presence of Launch Control, which allows MotoGP-style starts.

The engine is a Desmodromic Testastretta 11° twin-cylinder Euro 5 approved, with valve clearance checking and adjustment only to be carried out every 30,000 km. The maximum power and torque values are respectively 111 hp at 9,250 rpm and 93 Nm at 6,500 rpm. For A2 licence holders, the Monster is also available in a depowered 35 kW version. Reliable and ready in its power delivery, the Monster’s engine can be adapted to the needs of each rider thanks to the three Ducati Riding Modes: Sport, Touring and Urban.

Every enthusiast can choose to customise their Monster thanks to a wide range of Ducati Performance accessories, from the Termignoni approved silencer to the engine guard or racing licence plate holder. All the accessories, made with high quality components, can be consulted in the “Configurator ” section on the website Ducati.com, together with a wide range of helmets, jackets and trousers: everything required to meet the needs of every Monsterista and ride the motorcycle safely and with style.

The 2023 calendar for DRE Road, the exclusive Ducati riding course with top instructors and which includes the Monster range among the motorcycle models provided, is also available on the website Ducati.com.

Ducati Riding Experience Academy’s first UK event heralded a stunning success

The world-famous Ducati Riding Experience made its UK debut this week at the legendary Silverstone circuit with 60 participants taking to the UK’s fastest racing circuit.

In collaboration with Silverstone Circuit, the first Ducati Riding Experience Academy (DRE) in the UK took place from the 16th to the 18th of May and saw 60 participants enjoy an exclusive track experience alongside celebrity instructors including Michele Pirro, Karel Abraham, Chaz Davies, Alex De Angelis, Ferruccio Lamborghini and, of course, the DRE Chief Instructor Dario Marchetti, directly from Ducati HQ in Bologna.

The exclusive DRE has visited racetracks around the world and is best-known for being based on the best racing circuits in Italy. This event was the UK’s first taste of a track experience that is much more than a normal track day.
The comprehensive three-day package included two nights at the Hilton Garden Inn Silverstone and the ultimate motorcycle track experience with Panigale V4 hire inclusive.

Using a combination of DRE and Silverstone’s own instructors, exclusive groups of just five riders among media, top customers, and fans were able to benefit from close supervision and tuition which even included a track walk with instructors the evening before riding.
The experience was fully catered with meals throughout the three-day event and the famous Silverstone Wing pit complex was used as a base for the track riding.

DRE offers a variety of different levels: more experienced riders can sample the maximum performance of the race-bred Ducati Panigale V4 at the Advance course, while less experienced riders can join the Intermediate level to help build confidence under expert tuition.

The DRE at Silverstone was just the first of a series of new Ducati UK events as part of a Riding Experiences calendar for 2023. To complete the riding experiences portfolio, Ducati UK is also delighted to announce additional Ducati Track Days for 2023.
The first Ducati Track Day in 2023 will kick off at Donington Park GP circuit on the 23rd of May, followed by the Silverstone GP circuit on the 27th of June 2023.

Taking to the track surrounded by fellow Ducatisti, the Ducati Track Days offer an unmissable experience for any Ducati owner, from track novices, to experienced veterans and everyone in between.

Fabrizio Cazzoli, Managing Director, Ducati UK “We’re all delighted the first DRE held in the UK has been such a great success. It was fantastic to be able to see so many riders out on track on their Ducati machines, enjoying the UK’s fastest racing circuit at Silverstone.
The racetrack has always been at the very core of Ducati DNA and this kind of experience allows riders to explore the performance and Ducati technology to the ultimate level.
DRE Racetrack is the most refined format, where together with Ducati top instructors and the most premium hospitality you can have a truly unique experience, while the Ducati Track days offer the opportunity to enjoy a day on the track together with a wide community of Ducati owners.”

Indian Motorcycle reveals final custom Sport Chief build within its ‘Forged’ video series

Indian Motorcycle today revealed the final custom Sport Chief build within its ‘Forged’ video series. Featuring long-time friends and renowned freestyle motocross riders Carey Hart and Jeremy “Twitch” Stenberg, the final custom bike takes the stock performance of the Indian Sport Chief to an entirely new level.

When speaking to Twitch about his build plans, Hart said, “It’s already a great base. The components on the production Sport Chief are great, but for what you’re going to be doing, I’m going to really focus on the chassis, handling, and braking. You’re going to ride the wheels off this thing, so it has to perform. It’s not just a trophy bike.”

Hart started off by stripping the bike down to its motor and frame. He re-engineered the brakes with race-spec Beringer components and tapped Trac Dynamics to develop a billet aluminium swingarm for increased rigidity and to minimize flex. He also called upon Barnstorm Cycles to add knee cuts to help slim the tank. The bike also features Hart & ODI bars and grips, super sticky Dunlop tires, machine wheels, a chain conversion and a Bassani 2-into-1 exhaust. Hart also raised the front end an inch and added a Beringer clutch perch to deliver a more moto-like feel that Twitch is accustomed to. To finish the bike off, Hart pulled in Schultz Design to deliver a paint scheme that was flashy, but classic, and truly represented Twitch’s personality.

New Stripe Livery colour scheme for the Ducati SuperSport 950 S

The SuperSport 950 S is Ducati’s road sports bike designed for all enthusiasts looking for an adventure companion with whom to share memorable days, on the road or on the track. A bike with a sporting soul, ready to give emotions at every corner, which interprets the concepts of sport-touring in a modern key while maintaining a strong Ducati identity.

Whether it’s a protagonist of downshifting on the track or a travel companion on the road, the versatility of use of the SuperSport 950 S ensures full control of the bike in every situation. The SuperSport 950 S is in fact capable of providing fun to expert riders and at the same time guaranteeing a great sense of safety to the beginners; its ease of riding makes it a bike suitable for all types of riders.

For 2024, Ducati updates the range of colours of the SuperSport 950 S with the new Stripe Livery, which complements the classic Ducati Red colour scheme.

Two brand-new dark grey and Ducati Red coloured bands, located on the front mudguard and on the side air vents create a play of shapes that gives a further boost to the “Iceberg White” fairing, for a dynamic final effect. The graphic indication of the model has also been revised in style, in line with the new colour scheme.

The design, with attention to the details, features numerous references to the Panigale V4, from the luminous signature of the full-LED headlight, equipped with DRL, to the side air vents. A unique combination of style and sportiness made possible thanks to the ability of the Centro Stile Ducati, for a riding experience that combines adrenaline, aesthetics and safety.

The true sporting character of the SuperSport 950 S is also found in the equipment, with a low weight single-sided aluminium swingarm and a trellis frame fixed to the engine with high torsional rigidity. The heart of the SuperSport is the Ducati Testastretta 11° twin-cylinder engine: appreciated for its power delivery qualities, it is Euro 5 approved and boasts maximum power and torque values, respectively of 110 hp at 9,000 rpm and 93 Nm at 6,5000 rpm/minute. The SuperSport 950 S is also available in a 35-kW depowered version, with a reduction of € 1,000 on the list price (for Italy only), thus representing an ideal solution for the A2 riding licence holders.

Exclusive standard features for the SuperSport 950 S are the Öhlins fork and shock absorber, both fully adjustable, and the passenger seat cover, and the Glossy Black wheel rims, that are enriched in this version by an exclusive “tag” in Ducati Red colour. The family of the Ducati’s road sports bike includes also the standard version SuperSport 950 S, available in Ducati Red livery.

To offer a good level of comfort both to those who use the bike every day and to those who choose it for touring, the SuperSport 950 S is fitted with height-adjustable Plexiglas as standard.
The electronic package brings together the best of Ducati technology and consists of ABS Cornering, Ducati Traction Control, Ducati Wheelie Control, Ducati Quick Shift up/down and the three Riding Modes (Sport, Touring and Urban), in addition to the full-TFT 4.3’’ display.

The SuperSport 950 S can be customized according to personal tastes and needs thanks to the Sport and Touring accessories packages, created by Ducati Performance and which can be also mounted together. The Sport package emphasises the sporty character of the bike thanks to the carbon fibre tank and front mudguard protections, the brake and clutch levers adjustable and articulated to reduce the possibility of breakage, the LED turn indicators and the aluminium number plate holder; the comfort of the SuperSport on long journeys is on the other hand maximised by the smoke-tinted windscreen, the heated grips and the spacious expandable side panniers of the Touring package. Both packages and the other several accessories available individually can be found on the “Configurator” section on the website Ducati.com.

In order to make the experience with your bike even more complete, the Ducati apparel collection 2023 is available on the website Shop.Ducati.com: from the sporty suits of the Racing line dedicated to the racetrack riding to the casual clothes suitable for everyday life, a high-quality products line to live your passion in the Ducati-branded style.

The SuperSport 950 S is also one of the bikes protagonists of the Ducati Riding Academy. The DRE Road lasts one day and it is organized into three modules: a theoretical introduction that offers all the technical information to ride on the road safely and consciously, followed by a second part inside the paddock, with 7 islands of exercises to check riding position and braking, and finally a third more dynamic part on the track , with the aim of refining trajectories, insertions, apexes and runs and the operation of electronic controls such as ABS Cornering. For the young riders from 18 to 24 years old with A2 riding licence is available the DRE Rookie, with the aim to learn, develop and improve safe and fun riding with theory session, exercises inside the paddock and a final session on the track.

Still Unbeatable, Still Undeniable: Rule The Track With The 2024 KTM 450 SMR

The KTM 450 SMR is the bar of reference for Supermoto. It is the only choice for riders seeking an escape from the limits of the road, for dirt bikers that want to feel an exhilarating drift on the tarmac, for those that want the ideal ‘training tool’ or Supermoto racers craving to lead the pack.

Austria’s own Lukas Höllbacher took his KTM 450 SMR to the 2022 AMA Supermoto title and fought until the last moments for the FIM World Championship. Höllbacher’s track feats and feedback rolled into the serial production version of KTM’s latest and best definition of the ultimate Supermoto racer. In 2023 he will again be on the attack with the 2024 KTM 450 SMR and riders can now get their hands on the same model. The 2024 incarnation has been given a fresh new splash of color using in-mold technology for the bodywork. KTM orange, white and black create an attractive blur at speed but there is also the distinctive streak of purple, inspired by 1990 KTM bikes barreling around international racetracks.

Elsewhere, here is what makes the SMR package so competitive

Surge forwards with the 450 cc SOHC engine that fires out 63 hp, now with longer service intervals. At less than 27 kg, the powerplant is a masterpiece of power-to-weight engineering. A 44 mm Keihin throttle body brings in the fun and gauges the right response, while the SUTER slipper clutch adds another important way to modulate lap-time speed.

Ultimate handling thanks to centralisation of the motor and chassis within the hydro-formed, laser-cut and robot-welded frame. The compact construction has just the right amount of longitudinal rigidity and flex to provide superb feedback, energy absorption and straight-line stability. The reinforced aluminum subframe weighs in at 1.815 kg and was generated from computational dynamic studies: sensitivity, robustness and reliability were the parameters. The hollow, die-cast aluminum swingarm is another remarkable contributor to the 2024 KTM 450 SMR’s experience along with a NEKEN aluminum handlebar and CNC machined triple clamps, which are rubber damped to reduce vibration, to put every single corner of the racetrack right into the rider’s hands.

Pivot on a dime with dependable suspension – 48 mm WP XACT split front fork with AER technology for progressive and consistent damping, especially in the last 40 mm of travel. Count on quick access click adjusters for compression and rebound. The WP XACT shock is small, light, and fixed with the frame geometry for better ground clearance of the linkage system. The XACT unit is one of the most advanced pieces of hardware to emerge from the WP Suspension factory lines. Like the fork, the shock’s compression and rebound can be configured without the need for tools.

Easy life for the racer thanks to specialist features such as the electric start, the tool-less air filter for simple replacement, a performance-designed airbox, a flat and high seat with a high-grip cover, to accommodate ultimate control at any angle, and a large polythene 7.2 litre fuel tank, meaning more miles at speed. Carefully engineered footpegs with a larger surface area and revised integration into the frame; they are optimised for tarmac and the varying conditions of the terrain.

Run to the limit of the corners with heavy-duty Brembo brakes. The 4-piston radial caliper will clamp the 310 mm front disc at the smallest stroke of the lever while a single piston unit grabs the 220 mm rear disc to set off those time-saving drifts.

Maneuver the 2024 KTM 450 SMR how you want thanks to the acute ‘triangle’ ergonomics that focus on centralisation, putting the rider in the ideal attack position. Front end control and rear end confidence is the default ‘setting’ for the 2024 KTM 450 SMR, thanks to the various contact points from the carefully designed bodywork.

Own the track with a raft of special race-orientated details such as two selectable engine maps, launch control, traction control and Quickshifter, all administered by a 44 mm Keihin engine management system. LED hour meters, Fuel Injection status and a Roll Over Sensor (ROS) are included. The ROS detects the position of the bike in the event of a crash and automatically kills the engine for improved safety.

Tyre tech that won’t let you down. Metzeler Racetec SM K1 Supermoto rubber heats up quickly and boasts a large performance scale in terms of temperature range and different states of asphalt. The tyres are fitted to lightweight, high-strength ALPINA alloy rims with CNC machined hubs.

Open your mind. The 2024 KTM 450 SMR invites riders to eat the chrono and question their own capabilities. READY TO RACE has rarely been more acutely applied to any KTM model. This year there won’t be any excuses.

2024 KTM 450 SMR Technical Highlights

// Purposeful orange, black, white and purple race trim livery with black coated frame and menacing black wheels
// 63 hp SOHC engine weighing less than 27 kg and prioritising centralisation thanks to altered positioning in the frame. Engine position equates to easy servicing
// Two engine map options, launch control, traction control and Quickshifter as well as SUTER slipper clutch for maximum control
// Compact, light and innovative chassis for the best feeling, traction and handling
// First class WP XACT fork with AER technology and XACT shock: small, condensed and fully adjustable hardware to quickly refine track set-up

The 2023 Indian Motorcycle FTR range – Now available in UK dealers

The 2023 Indian Motorcycle FTR range – Now available in UK dealers from as little as £179 per month*

Indian Motorcycle’s iconic FTR range for 2023 has landed in UK dealers this month, with the updated four model lineup offering fans of the American muscle bike more choice, combined with competitive finance offers too.

Announced at the Eicma show in Milan last year, the updated range for 2023 has seen significant updates with the introduction of a new mid-level Sport model, sitting alongside the FTR, FTR Rally and FTR Carbon models.

Designed for riders to enjoy the pure sport of motorcycling, the FTR Sport’s bold aesthetics and performance-inspired componentry, including a race-style number plate, chin fairing and seat cowl, take the FTR’s energetic attitude to another level. A totally unique take on American V-twin performance with an unmistakable, muscular style, the FTR truly is an American original.

Indian Motorcycle UK’s Andy Simpson commented, “The 2023 FTR range is without question our most complete yet. With the new mid-level Sport, sitting between the FTR and the Carbon model, there’s a great spread of specification, with performance improvements across the whole 17 inch wheel range. With the Rally model, those looking for a more retro approach can choose the larger 19/18 inch spoked wheel option, boasting its unique Desert Earth frame finish with the more traditional and iconic Indian Motorcycle Headdress tank design. For 2023 we’re confident we have an FTR for virtually everyone’s choice of style with a huge parts and accessory line-up to personalise more as required too.”

With the range now available in all UK dealers, and with a recommended retail price starting at £12,995, Indian Motorcycle is pleased to bring competitive finance offers to UK customers with typical monthly payments for the high specification FTR as low as £179*.

For 2023, all FTR models now offer a new sport exhaust muffler, an updated and retuned front braking system to provide a firmer feel, a new clutch, as well as moving the speedometer higher-up for easier viewing.

Ducati SuMisura: the project to create the suit of your dreams

The Ducati SuMisura project – developed in collaboration with long-standing partner Dainese – is the customisation project dedicated to those who dream to make their own unique suit. Launched in 2014, it offers all Ducatisti the opportunity to create a customised suit according to their aesthetic and comfort needs. The result is a unique piece, capable of reflecting the character and personality of its enthusiastic owner during his bike adventures; a suit that adheres perfectly to the body and follows its movements, guaranteeing safety, comfort and greater flexibility on the bike.

Ducatisumisura.com , the website of the Borgo Panigale manufacturer dedicated to the SuMisura project, has been renewed with a new version updated in content and graphics for the 2023 collection. Each available model can be customised thanks to a palette of 30 colours, so as to satisfy the tastes of every passionate customer and allow the creation of a unique garment. Through the configurator it is in fact possible to choose the suit model that best meets your needs and combine the colours of the panels until you find your favourite combination. Once you have created your sketch, you can send the pdf directly to the nearest dealer, who will contact you in order to proceed with the creation of your personalised garment.

The revamped site reflects an ever-growing range of suits available, a range that now satisfies the needs of every riding style – racing, sport and touring – and of every Ducatista. The latest models are the Ducati Corse |D|air® C2 Lady  suit, dedicated to all motorcyclists who love to tackle the curves of the track, and the Ducati Corse D-air K2, made of resistant and light kangaroo leather. The distinctive feature of the suits is the high technology employed in their realisation, aimed at guaranteeing maximum safety. Both models are in fact equipped with an integrated airbag, which is activated in a few milliseconds in the event of an impact or slide and by working in synergy with traditional protectors, ensuring protection for the neck, shoulders and collarbones and the entire upper part of the torso.

A page dedicated to authorised dealers is available on the site, through which every Ducatista can simply and immediately locate the nearest Store, where specialised staff will take the measurements to create the completely personalised suit.
In fact, authorised dealers are trained with specialisation courses organised by the Borgo Panigale manufacturer together with technical support from Dainese; since the specialisation courses are held constantly, the page is constantly updated. Even Ducati Dealers who have not undergone the training will still be able to accept orders for customised suits, but in standard sizes.

Ducati SuMisura offers Ducatisti the unique experience of creating an exclusive suit, satisfying personal aesthetic and comfort needs. All the information is available on the Ducatisumisura.com website.

2023 Honda EM1 e

New ModelHonda’s first EV for young European riders is here. The EM1 e: is equipped with a swappable Honda Mobile Power Pack e:, delivering real convenience, and fun, emission-free urban transport. An in-wheel electric motor supplies the drive; usable range is 41.3km and top speed is 45.0km/h. Specification includes digital instrument display, underseat storage space, USB socket, pillion footpegs and rear carrier.

23YM HONDA EM1e Location
  1. Introduction

The EM1 e: is Honda’s first two-wheeled electric vehicle for customers in Europe, following the announcement in September 2022 of the company’s plans to introduce 10 or more electric two wheelers globally by 2025. It is also a notable first step towards meeting Honda’s stated aim of carbon neutrality for all its motorcycle line-ups during the 2040s.

The ‘EM’ stands for Electric Moped, and the model is aimed squarely at a young demographic looking for easy, fun, emission-free urban transport. It is compact, flat-floored, with smooth styling that marks out its difference and unique identity within the Honda range.

Perfect for short hops around town and making journeys to work or college efficient, quiet and emission-free, the EM1 e: syncs neatly with modern expectations for urban mobility.

And, as growing local legislation around parking in cities across Europe restricts the use of traditional Internal Combustion Engines (ICE), quite naturally the EV market is growing. Honda is now entering this space with a fresh, high-quality choice for both young riders and short-range commuters alike.

For a typical student, who might do a 30km total ‘lap’ of the city during an average day, the EM1 e: is a compelling proposition: simple to ride and to handle, quiet, environmentally- friendly transport.

And the first of many.

23YM HONDA EM1 e:
  1. Model Overview

Compact, easy to use and offering clean mobility with fresh new styling, most of the EM1 e: is conventional: steel underbone frame, telescopic forks, twin shock absorbers and disc front/drum rear braking are classic moped features.

What’s really new are the electric in-wheel motor and Honda’s own Honda Mobile Power Pack e:, which can be removed for easy recharging at home using the bespoke charging unit.

The EM1 e: is fully equipped with digital dash, high quality switch gear, long floor area, underseat storage space and USB charging socket. It also features pillion footpegs, rear carrier and side stand for speedy parking.

Usable range is 41.3km with a top speed of 45.0km/h.

Also new is the sales method. To ensure customers do not have to take responsibility for the disposal or recycling of the Honda Mobile Power Pack e:, the EM1 e: together with the Honda Mobile Power Pack e: and charger will be available based on a lease, rental or subscription scheme, depending on the country. This will give customers complete peace of mind throughout the life of the EM1 e: regarding both the continued performance of the Honda Mobile Power Pack e:, and its eventual disposal.

The 2023 (23YM) EM1 e: will be available in three contemporary colour options:

    • Pearl Sunbeam White
    • Digital Silver Metallic
    • Matte Ballistic Black Metallic

      23YM HONDA EM1 e:

  1. Key Features

3.1 Battery & Charger

  • Honda durability ensures over 2,500 charges are possible
  • 160 minutes to charge from 25% to 75%
  • 50V Honda Mobile Power Pack e: swappable lithium-ion battery pack
  • 270W air-cooled charger for domestic use

The EM1 e: is powered by the 50V Honda Mobile Power Pack e:, developed in-house by Honda with the same relentless focus on durability, reliability and quality for which its internal combustion engines have long been known.

A single charge will offer a usable riding range of 41.3km or approximately 48.0km in ECON mode under Honda’s internal test conditions (30km in WMTC Class 1 testing conditions) and the Honda Mobile Power Pack e: is designed to withstand different temperatures, humidity levels, impacts and vibrations.

As its name suggests, the Honda Mobile Power Pack e: is a swappable battery that can be easily removed from the EM1 e: for charging in the comfort of home. Operation is simple: the charger, complete with air-cooling fan, draws from a single phase AC100-240V domestic source and produces 270W maximum. Weight of the charger is 5.3kg and LED indicators show charging status in 4 segments. The Honda Mobile Power Pack e: itself weighs approximately 10kg and can be easily carried and replaced thanks to an easy-to-hold handle.

From zero to maximum, charging time is approximately 6 hours; from 25% to 75%, only 2.7 hours (160 minutes) are needed. Honda’s famed durability means that the Honda Mobile Power Pack e: can be charged over 2,500 times (internal testing conditions**).

The in-wheel motor is rated at 0.58kW output and produces 1.7kW at peak. In ECON mode, output is set at 0.86kW. Top speed is 45km/h and the EM1 e: can climb a 10° angle with a weight of 75kg on board. ECON mode softens throttle operation and reduces top speed, extending usable range to approximately 48.0km.

23YM HONDA EM1 e:

3.2 Styling & Equipment

  • Digital instrument display and USB Type-A charging socket
  • 3L underseat storage
  • Rear carrier and pillion footpegs

Deliberately shaped to stand apart from its ICE siblings, the EM1 e: is slim and compact, blending a mixture of smooth, organic curves up front with a more angular, purposeful rear section.

A 12V battery powers the scooter’s systems and all lighting is LED. A simple digital dash displays all the information that matters concisely, including remaining battery charge percentage.

There’s 3.3L of storage space under the seat, and an inner pocket large enough to store a 500ml PET water bottle can be found on the left side of the fairing front; on the right a USB socket for smartphone charging is a useful feature. There’s also a handy hook to hang a bag from, and grab rails for the pillion passenger.

A rear carrier is also fitted as standard while the pillion footpegs fold neatly into the bodywork when not in use.

A useful 35L top box and rear carrier will be available as an optional accessory.

3.3 Chassis

  • Steel underbone frame, telescopic front forks and twin rear shocks
  • 740mm seat height, 95kg weight including battery
  • Front hydraulic disc and rear drum, linked by CBS (Combined Braking System)

While a lot about the EM1 e: is new, its chassis is more familiar and all at once effective, reassuring, lightweight and tough with easy, confident handling the goal. It’s supremely compact, just 1,860mm in length with a very manageable 740mm seat height. Ground clearance is a healthy 135mm and maintenance weight is just 95kg including battery.

The frame is a durable steel underbone design; 31mm telescopic forks are matched to twin rear shock absorbers equipped with double tube dampers. Rake and trail are set at 27°/77mm against wheelbase of 1,300mm.

Tyres are sized 90/90-12 front and 100/90-10 rear. The front wheel is cast aluminium, the rear an aluminium/steel composite design. The brakes – 190mm/single-piston caliper disc front and 110mm drum rear – are linked by Combined Brake System (CBS) for smooth stopping control. When the rear brake is activated, CBS distributes braking power to the front caliper.
