Suzuki Announce 2015 RM-Z450

Suzuki has today confirmed details of its latest MX1 contender for the 2015 model year, bringing significant updates to the popular RM-Z450 that include an all-new launch control system and spring-less SFF Air Forks.

Developed in conjunction with Suzuki’s official World and American motocross teams, the 2015 version sees technical updates to virtually every major component, utilising feedback gained from riders including Clement Desalle and James Stewart.

Suzuki Holeshot Assist Control

2015 advancements direct from race development include Suzuki’s new Holeshot Assist Control (S-HAC), as seen on James Stewart’s RM-Z450 this season.

Offering easily selectable rider settings, S-HAC alters ignition timing to deal with the start gate surface.  Mode ‘A’ provides a smoother engine response for slippery conditions, while mode ‘B’ offers an aggressive map where good grip is available. Full power ignition timing is restored when pre-determined gear selection is reached or when a period of time has elapsed, depending on mode selected.

Settings are easily selectable via a push button on the left-hand-side of the handlebar, illuminating to show the rider which mode they have selected.

Showa SFF Air Fork

Following the introduction of the Showa SFF Fork in 2012, the new model goes one step further, with the departure of the traditional fork spring in favour of the inner air chamber set-up, also seen on James Stewart’s factory AMA machine.

Offering significant advantages in bike set-up, the SFF Air system allows riders to make set-up changes quickly and easily by simply adjusting air pressure in the internal air chamber. Other benefits include a reduction in overall weight and more consistent damping, due to the removal of heat influence, normally associated with oil-filled forks.

Engine Updates

With strong engine performance already a trademark of the RM-Z450, 2015 development has centred around weight reduction and usability, with redesigned starting gear and improved cooling performance a priority.

To improve engine starting on all occasions, Suzuki engineers made significant changes to all relevant areas, with a redesigned kick-drive gear, redesigned decompression system, relocated kick idle gear and a lengthened kick-start.

An increase in cooling performance has also been possible thanks to changes in the water pump housing, as well as a relocation of the hose connection and routing between each radiator. As a result water flow is increased by 16% and weight is further reduced with the elimination of the hot starter system.

Redesigned Frame

Working in harmony with the new SFF Air Fork and aiding the overall reduction of weight, is a redesigned main frame too. With re-shaped internal ribs, rigidity is optimised, meaning a 4% reduction in weight over the previous model.

Availability

The 2015 RM-Z450 is set to arrive in dealers in the Autumn of 2014, with its European media launch scheduled for later this summer. Recommended pricing will be confirmed soon.

Suzuki Announce Burgman 125 Availability

Designed to excel in urban environments, the Burgman’s impressive fuel efficiency and storage capabilities make it an obvious choice for those looking for a city commuter with a high level of specification.”

Suzuki Support Guy Martin’s Big Brew With Latest Campaign

Suzuki GB is pleased to be supporting Guy Martin’s Big Brew charity event as part of its latest sales campaign, with a donation made for every new bike sold as part of the promotion.

The latest offer sees the Japanese manufacturer offer a £750 cash deposit on eight new models, and highlights Suzuki’s commitment to making owning a new motorcycle more affordable.

The offer means customers can benefit from low monthly payments without finding an upfront deposit, or alternatively, can increase their deposit with Suzuki’s £750 contribution, resulting in even lower monthly payments.

Customers can also benefit from using the £750 cash deposit as money off the cost of the bike.

Jonathan Martin, Suzuki GB National Sales Manager, said, “We’re always striving to make it more affordable for customers to own a new Suzuki and have listened to a lot of owner and customer feedback to work out the best ways of doing so. A significant deposit contribution such as this means customers can benefit from low monthly payments without finding the money for an up front payment, or alternatively can increase their own deposit by £750 and benefit from even lower monthly payments. Or for those not looking for a finance deal, customers can simply use the £750 cash deposit as money off the total cost of the bike.

“On top of the benefits for customers, we’re delighted to be supporting Guy’s Big Brew initiative, and in doing so, helping to raise money for important research into spinal injuries.”

Eight models are available with the £750 deposit contribution, including the best-selling V-Strom 650 and GSR750 naked, as well as the GSX1250FA, Hayabusa and Burgman 650 Executive.

Also available as part of the promotion is the full complement of GSX-R models, including the 600, 750 and 1000, as well as the GSX-R750 Yoshimura edition. The GSX-R1000Z and ZSE models are not included.

Suzuki Add GT750 to Vintage Part Programme

Suzuki has announced the addition of the iconic GT750 ‘Kettle’ to it’s popular Vintage Parts programme, with more than 1100 Genuine parts still available for the sought after two-stroke.

Introduced in 1971, the GT750 soon developed a cult following which still exists today, with various owners’ clubs still celebrating the water-cooled two-stroke triple, affectionately known as the ‘Kettle’.

Praised highly when launched at last year’s Motorcycle Live with the popular RGV250, Suzuki’s Vintage Parts Programme makes restoring and maintaining classic machines from Suzuki’s history even easier, by listing every Genuine part still available from the factory online. Every part has also been individually photographed, too.

With a bespoke area of the Suzuki website dedicated to the programme, owners can source and buy available parts and share images of their bikes with other users. Also available online to download are parts catalogues and service manuals, as well as factory action images, brochures and road tests from the time.

Suzuki GB Aftersales Coordinator Tim Davies, commented, “We’ve been working hard to be able to add the GT750 to the programme, and we’re delighted to be able to announce it’s inclusion. There is a real interest in classic and vintage machines at the moment, and the Vintage Parts Programme makes restoring, maintaining and owning a classic Suzuki even easier and more rewarding. We launched it with the RGV250 which was very well received and we’re now very excited to add the iconic GT750. We’ll be adding even more models shortly, including the GSX-R750 F-H models, the GT250 X7 and the AP50, with even more in the pipeline.”

V-Strom 1000 Availability And Service Intervals Announced

Suzuki GB is delighted to announce availability of the new and hotly anticipated V-Strom 1000, as well as confirming service intervals for what is already being dubbed “one of the best adventure bikes we’ve ever seen”, according to one of the UK’s leading motorcycle journalists.

The new V-Strom boasts an all-new chassis, heavily revised engine, ABS and three-way traction control system, while remaining competitively priced at £9,999, and is set to arrive in showrooms from 17 February with dealers already taking deposits on the new adventure machine.

Extensive engine development has also led to an increase in service intervals for the V-Strom 1000. While the first service remains at 600 miles, subsequent service intervals have been confirmed at 12 months or 7,500 miles, making the V-Strom an even more affordable and practical proposition.

Suzuki GB General Manager Paul de Lusignan announced the bike’s availability, commenting, “We were delighted with the feedback the new V-Strom 1000 received at its worldwide press launch last month, and even more importantly, we’ve been really encouraged by feedback from potential customers who have been able to take advanced test rides on our recent nationwide dealer tour. This is clearly a highly anticipated and eagerly awaited bike, not just for customers but for Suzuki, too, and we’re looking forward to customers being able to get their hands on it from next month.”

The new V-Strom 1000 was launched in the mountains around Almeria in southern Spain, with journalists praising the bike’s light weight and ease of handling, as well as the impressive 76ft.lb of torque at just 4,000rpm. Journalist Matt Hull commented, “It is one of the most comfortable long-range bikes I’ve ridden with one of the smoothest V-twin engines I’ve tried. The V-Strom is as happy on B-roads as it is on motorways and it’s very good value,” while Motorcycle Sport and Leisure’s Tony Carter stated in his summary, “Suzuki has made something that might just be one of the best adventure bikes we’ve ever seen.”

Early production models of the V-Strom 1000 have also been doing the rounds in the UK as part of a nationwide dealer tour, with customers able to take test rides and put down deposits before the bikes arrive in February. Customers can still also benefit from Suzuki’s seat exchange programme, and can choose either a higher or lower option seat for no extra cost at point of sale. The new V-Strom is also available with a comprehensive range of Genuine accessories too, including integrated luggage designed during development process.

“It will appeal to the customer who just wants a discount, it will appeal to the customer who wants to accessorise their new Suzuki and it will appeal to the customer who needs the extra support with their insurance premium.
