Aprilia RSV4 Factory and Tuono V4 Factory Speed White

New special limited edition colour scheme for the most racing-oriented versions of the magnificent V4s from Noale unveiled at the GP of the Americas.

Dominated by a white that enhances the design with built-in winglets, the Speed White livery will be available from may exclusively for a limited time.

The flagship bikes of the Aprilia V4 range, the RSV4 Factory superbike and the Tuono V4 Factory hypernaked, début in the Speed White colour scheme, a new and exclusive colour option that will be available for a limited time only: from May through to the end of 2023.

Dominated by a white that enhances the aerodynamic lines and its design with built-in winglets, the Speed White livery is combined with red wheel rims and adorned with the Aprilia inscription on the side and sport graphics inspired by the Aprilia RS-GP prototype playing a leading role in the 2023 MotoGP World Championship.

It was the Aprilia Racing MotoGP riders themselves, Aleix Espargaró and Maverick Viñales, who unveiled the Speed White colour scheme for the first time to the general public on the weekend of the Grand Prix of the Americas in Texas. This genuinely great racing occasion highlighted the supersport soul of the livery that houses two extraordinary bikes, at the top of the superbike segment in terms of technology, performance, and design.

The Speed White colour scheme joins the other two options for the Aprilia V4 Factory range – Time Attack and Ultra Dark – and will be available from May in Aprilia dealerships for a limited time.

A new dash protector is now available from GBRacing to fit the increasingly popular ECUMASTER ADU5 unit.

Used extensively at world championship level and throughout Europe, the ECUMASTER ADU5 is the choice of a number of World Supersport 300 and 600 teams.

Priced competitively, this high-quality two-piece dash protector is available to buy now.

Venhill 2023 Off-Road Catalogue

A one-stop shop for high quality British-made control cables and hydraulic hoses for off-roaders.

Motorcycle control specialists Venhill have updated their off-road catalogue for 2023, with hundreds of new cable and hose applications added to the must-have manual for dirt-bike riders.

A one-stop shop for high quality hydraulic brake lines and control cables, Venhill’s catalogue covers the major names and specialist off-road brands – from AJP to Yamaha – and from classic twinshock motocross, trials and dirt bikes from the 1970s right through to the latest MY23 models.

Additions for this year include Clutch Cable Kits for 1976-1986 models of Yamaha’s iconic Dakar-winning XT500; Rear Brake Hose Kits for the latest generation of Honda CRF450R, WE and RX; plus new Throttle Cable Kits for KTM and Husky two-strokes, including the 2021-2022 KTM SX 125, 150 and 250cc models, and the 2021-on Husqvarna TC125 and 250.

Developed and precision made in their UK factory, Venhill control cables and hydraulic hoses are trusted by some of the World’s leading MX teams like World Champion Jacky Martens’ JM Honda Racing and Big Van World MTX Kawasaki.

Venhill’s Powerhose Plus brake lines feature a DuPont® Teflon® core for improved heat resistance, more efficient fluid flow and increased braking force. They’re wrapped in a marine-grade stainless braid and bonded PVC jacket for protection and use threaded swivel fittings for zero-twist positioning.

Refined since their introduction in 1993, Venhill’s Featherlight clutch and throttle cables deliver improved performance and durability along with smoother action. Each one features marine-grade stainless steel inner wire and a ‘teflon’ PTFE liner for minimum friction and a lighter action.  They’re also ‘Bird-caged’ – a special process applied to the end of the inner wire, which allows solder to penetrate the weave of the cable, making the bond with the nipple much stronger.

Harley-Davidson Introduces All-New CVO Model Motorcycles

Limited mid-year CVO Street Glide and Road Glide models to debut at Harley-Davidson Homecoming in Milwaukee and Budapest 120th Anniversary events.

Since 1999, Harley-Davidson® Custom Vehicle Operations (CVO) motorcycles have been an aspirational collection of limited-production motorcycles that deliver the ultimate in refinement of styling, design, craftsmanship and attention to detail, along with top-of-the-line performance. Over the decades, Harley-Davidson designers and engineers have thoughtfully evolved these motorcycles, introducing incremental improvements to further enhance the riding experience, while carefully respecting their heritage and position as icons within the hearts and minds of enthusiasts around the world.

Today, Harley-Davidson announces two new 2023 CVO motorcycles with exclusive and dramatic new visual designs, advanced technology, and dynamic performance, the details of which will be announced on 7th June 2023, with the official premiere of the all-new 2023 CVO Street Glide® and CVO Road Glide®. More information will be available from 3rd May 2023 at: www.h-d.com/ourfutureisreal.

With the introduction of the all-new CVO Street Glide and CVO Road Glide, we’ve completely reimagined two of Harley-Davidson’s most iconic motorcycles and redefined the boundaries of CVO in the process,” said Jochen Zeitz, Chairman, President and CEO of Harley-Davidson.

“By rethinking these two models from the ground up, we are ushering in a new era of innovation, design, engineering, and technology, while expanding the definition of Harley-Davidson CVO and taking the Grand American Touring experience to another level. The new CVO Street Glide and CVO Road Glide break the mould and reset the bar for the pinnacle Harley-Davidson riding experience.”

Commenting on the design of the new motorcycles, Brad Richards, Harley-Davidson Vice President of Design and Creative Director, said: “These all-new and unquestionably Harley-Davidson designs bring a cohesive and dynamic flow from the front fenders to the saddlebags. Achieving a greater degree of visual change than any generation prior, the design of these CVO Street Glide and CVO Road Glide models are revolutionary takes on the historical art of evolution. Like all Harley-Davidson motorcycles, these new models are meant to instil a sense of timeless desire.”

2023 Harley-Davidson® CVO Street Glide®

The all-new batwing fairing featured on the 2023 CVO Street Glide® model offers an evolved profile exhibiting a faster overall gesture and more swept windshield. Undercuts beneath the headlamp are more pronounced, and turn indicators are integrated as opposed to external units. While the iconic “T” shape of the batwing fairing is retained, the silhouette and graphic outline have been modernised with updated surfacing, and the new fairing integrates in design with the fuel tank, side covers and saddlebags. The “Omega-shaped” signature light provides instant recognition of the new model and turn signals are seamlessly integrated into the left and right lamp elements.

2023 Harley-Davidson CVO Road Glide®

The all-new CVO Road Glide® model fairing presents an aggressive update to the MY22 “sharknose” design and integrates with the fuel tank, side covers and saddlebags. The single LED headlamp has a wide, horizontal shape, yet appears to have twin elements, recalling a key feature of all previous Road Glide model fairings and turn signal lamps are integrated within the outer portions of the signature lighting.

Both models feature:

  • Dramatic new visual designs
  • New Milwaukee-Eight® VVT 121 engine
  • All-new suspension
  • All-new infotainment system
  • Offered with two paint / finish options.

MotoGP racer, Aleix Espargaró, joins Team Mips

MotoGP racer, Aleix Espargaró, joins Team Mips and becomes the first MotoGP™ rider to use the Mips® safety system.

Mips, a world leader in helmet-based safety, is proud to announce its newest member to Team Mips: Aleix Espargaró, factory rider for Aprilia Racing in MotoGP™, the premier class of motorcycle racing in the world.

A regular in the MotoGP paddock since 2009, Aleix is an extremely experienced rider with a number of podiums and pole positions on his scorecard.

Aleix Espargaró comments: “I’m very proud to be the first MotoGP rider to use the Mips safety system with my Kabuto helmet. Since I have been using the Mips system, I have not noticed any difference in the comfort of the helmet, but I personally feel safer riding in the MotoGP. As you all know, Mips’ systems have been used in cycling for years, and from now on I also use the Mips system in the premier motorcycle championship in the world and I’m happy to help by sharing my experience. In my opinion, bringing Mips into our sport helps put a needed spotlight on helmet safety.”

For the 2023 season, Aleix will be wearing Kabuto’s F17 Racing Mips helmet – the first MotoGP™ helmet to be equipped with the Mips® safety system in the form of the Mips Integra TX helmet comfort padding. The Mips Integra TX helmet padding is the first solution of its kind from Mips with the patented low friction layer integrated inside the padding itself.

Mips is already widely adopted in other two-wheeled professional sports such as motocross and cycling, both of which many MotoGP riders actively engage with. Entering MotoGP and adding Aleix to Team Mips is a milestone moment for Mips in their quest to raise awareness of helmet safety and their mission to lead the world to safer helmets.

Max Strandwitz, CEO of Mips, comments: “By its nature, the MotoGP class pushes everyone and everything involved with it to the limit and that’s part of the reason why it’s known around the world to be the pinnacle of track racing. Having recognition on a global platform of the Mips safety system, and with Aleix as an advocate, is fully in line with our mission of leading the world to safer helmets.”

Kawasaki UK announces Motorcycle Live Ninja 400 winner

Last year, Kawasaki once again partnered with the annual Motorcycle Live show to give one lucky visitor a chance to win a brand-new Ninja 400.

With the competition closing in February, Kawasaki is pleased to announce Jason Evans as the winner, collecting his new bike from Drayton Croft over the weekend.

The multiple-choice question saw thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts enter for their chance to win the championship-winning Ninja 400, including first registration fee, 12 months road tax, a number plate and insurance worth up to £250, courtesy of Kawasaki Insurance.

The winner was then picked at random from the correct entries, with Jason Evans being the lucky recipient! Having ridden for 32 years, this will be Jason’s first Kawasaki and he is excited to be joining the Ninja fold this summer. “I still can’t quite believe I was so lucky! I’ve been riding since I was 17 and this is going to be my first time owning a Kawasaki myself – although my wife has a Z650 and my dream bike growing up was a Ninja, so I’ve always been a fan.

I remember entering the competition after visiting the show last year, but I’ll be honest, I really didn’t think I would get lucky. So much so, that I still wasn’t completely convinced when Craig Watson, the Sales & Marketing Manager from Kawasaki first told me I was the lucky winner! It’s incredible to win such a stunning bike and it’s a fantastic addition to my garage.

I’m going to be using it throughout the summer for sure. I’ve got a fair bit of riding planned, including a trip to the Isle of Man TT, MotoGP at Silverstone and hopefully some British and World Superbike races too.”

Ross Burridge, Head of Marketing & Racing Department at Kawasaki UK:
“We had an amazing response to our Motorcycle Live competition, and it was fantastic to offer one lucky winner the chance to get their hands on a new Ninja 400. It’s great that Jason has already started making plans on how he will use the bike, and we look forward to hopefully seeing him at an event later in the year!”

King Of The Comebacks: Hail The New KTM 890 SMT

Sharper, sleeker, sportier. Take a touch of touring, a pinch of unbeatable tarmac performance and spice with a large portion of Supermoto legacy and serve with speed: KTM is delighted to reintroduce the KTM SMT back into the fold. No compromises and no catches. This regeneration of a KTM icon will sweep all highway traffic aside.

Imagine the ultimate Supermoto ‘play weapon’, combined with a bike that boasts a number of technical features, necessary for extended touring capabilities: you can attack the apex while knowing full well that the bike will take you much further.

Essential information:

  • KTM 890 SMT back in the spotlight with re-tuned KTM 890 LC8c platform, developed to hit marks at the top of the Supermoto touring segment for power/torque-to-weight ratio.
  • A street focused chassis, adjustable suspension, and premium tyres and brakes elevate this purposeful model between KTM ADVENTURE and KTM STREET product ranges. The perfect foil for both hill passes and the roads that lie thereafter, in equal measure.
  • The 2023 KTM 890 SMT is relaunched with fanfare and a pulsating ‘hill climb’ concept in the hands of former AMA Superbike and Supermoto racer Chris Fillmore.

The only way is up. The racing skills of former AMA Superbike and Supermoto ace Chris Fillmore were an apt conduit to display the potential of the reimagined KTM 890 SMT. The American, and Pikes Peak winner, throttled the Supermoto-tourer along a Sardinian mountain climb to show petrol heads and the motorcycle industry what they had been missing – and what they had been waiting for.

Fillmore gassed the super-torquey 889cc LC8c parallel twin and counted on 105 hp at 8,000 rpm. The engine is the same platform behind the enviable stats and output of the KTM 890 ADVENTURE model and its variations: with a 20% increase in rotating mass over the KTM 790 platform, providing stability and reassurance through corners, the knock control and 46 mm dual Dell’Orto throttle bodies guaranteeing optimum momentum, while the fuel consumption from the 15.8 litre tank is fantastically low at 4.6 litres/100 km. The KTM 890 SMT is just as happy pushed through low revs as it is pinned in higher gears – in fact Fillmore used the full range of the KTM 790 DUKE’s motor to ace his second Pikes Peak hill climb record in Colorado back in 2018.

The tank itself plays a forceful role in the ergonomics and has been slimmed and designed specifically for the KTM 890 SMT. The form of the tank slides the rider even further ‘into’ the bike with a wide and comfy contact patch, but is still compact enough for free and flowing movement (aided by the single piece Supermoto shaped seat at 860 mm height). The aero-optimised, smoked windshield is placed just above the double fender concept, with a low splash guard on the fork legs. Cruise or attack? You decide.

Chassis-wise the KTM 890 SMT has a CroMo steel frame with a tighter geometry that apes the KTM ADVENTURE’s stats. The structure is typically light and superbly agile on the move but also ensures fierce stability the faster a rider pushes. The shock absorber is angled further to reduce the seat height and accommodate the longer swingarm, contributing to both a forwardly inclined rider position as well as straight line stability.

Feeling the KTM 890 SMT on the go is an excellent experience: agile and responsive. The WP APEX suspension (43 mm open cartridge upside-down forks with 180 mm of travel, the same as the rear shock) is fully adjustable and complements the 17” wheels. The Michelin PowerGP tyres supply more than enough stick for the slickest tarmac and have been especially selected for their specs and appropriateness for the KTM 890 SMT’s demands. The state of the art 5” TFT dashboard is made from optically bonded mineral glass and is scratch and glare resistant, and fully customisable while divulging the easy-to-use infographic menu system for setup preferences.

The bike can be moulded even further. The three standard ride modes (RAIN, STREET, SPORT) can be expanded with an optional TRACK setting, permitting the rider to toggle between different amounts of throttle response and traction control through 10 levels. Cornering Motorcycle Traction Control (MTC) is an important safety feature, sensitive to the bike’s pitch and behavior at lean. Try six different handlebar positions with a 30 mm range. The show can slide and be rapidly wrenched to a halt with its potent brakes, consisting of four piston calipers, putting pressure on a 320 mm disc up front, while double piston calipers grip the 260 mm rear. Putting this stopping power into action employs Cornering ABS and Supermoto ABS – placing both technically advanced provisions into the mix for an excellent safety profile.

More add-ons available include heated grips and the chance to add Motor Slip Regulation (MSR), ideal for better control in low grip situations and for fast downshifts, to the software package. QUICKSHIFTER+ and Cruise Control are optional and ready to go with a simple activation process at Authorised KTM Dealers. Connectivity with the bike means full access to navigation possibilities and the advantages of the KTMconnect App, including roadside assistance, owner manuals and a digital service booklet for service and maintenance.

It would be very modest of us not to mention the looks. The KTM 890 SMT says a lot with its Supermoto-tourer style, from the 17″ wheels to its sporty graphics. The SMT cuts a sharp profile and will be impossible to miss, and even harder to outgun, on the road. As ever, don’t forget the encompassing collection of KTM PowerParts (to include accessories, TRACK and TECH Packs) and KTM PowerWear to look the part whether you’re on the hill, the highway or any other route to KTM 890 SMT happiness.

2023 KTM 890 SMT Highlights

// KTM 890 LC8c reworked for special sport touring emphasis and the next generation of the KTM 890 SMT thanks to 100 Nm of Torque and 105 hp with unbeatable power delivery
// A chassis ideal for the perfect Supermoto-tourer that achieves the desirable pitch between aggression and relaxed long distance cruising, with a sportier feel
// Frame, engine, wheels, WP APEX suspension all tweaked for lithe performance
// Blast the gradient of any hill climb with Cornering MTC, Cornering ABS and Supermoto ABS all applicable thanks to premium bike behavior functionality. More customisation possible with adjustable Suspension and TRACK mode options
// Performance with function: get excited by the tech specs and then revel in the touring aspect of the bike, with elements such as the 5” advanced TFT dashboard, Michelin PowerGP tyres, optional QUICKSHIFTER+ and Cruise Control – among other add-ons
// LED lights, eye-catching styling, 17” wheels and KTM 890 SMT spirit from the first throttle roll

New LS2 All Terrain Adventure Glove

Flexible, breathable and designed for comfort on highways and byways, LS2’s versatile All Terrain Gloves are a must for adventure-seekers.

All Terrain use goat skin in their construction because it is tough enough to resist abrasion from tarmac, yet soft and supple enough to allow plenty of feedback from the controls when riding on tracks. It’s double layered on the palm and other key areas, for maximum durability.

For added protection there are Level 1-certified TPU protectors over the knuckles, and padded sections at the base of the hand and over the vulnerable scaphoid area. As you’d expect, the gloves are fully certified to the latest CE safety standard.

The rest of the All Terrain’s shell is a lightweight, flexible textile containing neoprene and lycra for flexibility and breathability – a must for demanding days off-road. The goat skin sections are also perforated to help heat and perspiration escape.

Stretch panels at the finger joints and lycra sections between each finger help with precise operation of the controls – crucial when tackling loose surfaces and a silicone print on the palm improves grip on the bars.

The short cuff design sits easily under riding jackets, and has hook and loop closure for a snug and secure fit. There’s no need to remove the gloves to operate devices either, as both index fingers are touchscreen compatible too.

LS2 All Terrain Gloves come in both men’s (sizes S-2XL) and ladies’ (XS-L) versions, in four colourways: Black, Black/Blue, Grey/Red and Black/Hi-Vis Yellow. All retail at only £49.99 including VAT.

2023 Revival to host first ever all-synthetic fuel race at Goodwood as full schedule confirmed

In what is already a seminal year for motorsport at Goodwood as we celebrate 75 years of the Motor Circuit, 30 years of the Festival of Speed and 25 years of the Revival, we are delighted to announce that this year’s Revival will host an all-synthetic fuel race – the first of its kind.

Taking place over the weekend, the Fordwater Trophy will see a grid of 30 pre-66 Porsche 911s take to the historic Goodwood Motor Circuit – for the first ever all-synthetic fuel race in its 75-year history.

The Revival race list is completed by a further 14 races for everything from pre-war Grand Prix cars to sportscars of the early 1960s; the races join the previously-announced Carroll Shelby Centenary and 75 years of Lotus celebrations.

Fordwater Trophy – Porsche 911s
Continuing our celebrations for the 60th anniversary of the legendary Porsche 911 from the 80th Members’ Meeting, Revival will see a race for 30 of the racing classics. New for this year, each car will run wholly on synthetic fuel as we see a spectacular on-track battle for the trophy.

Rudge Whitworth Cup – Celebrating the centenary of Le Mans 24 Hours
New for 2023, the Rudge Whitworth Cup will pay homage to the Le Mans 24 Hours, which celebrates its centenary in 2023. With a grid full of Bentleys, Alfa Romeos, Bugattis and more from the world’s greatest test of endurance, this two-driver race will feature sportscars from the very first years of Le Mans.

Freddie March Memorial Trophy – The Goodwood Nine Hour Icons!
The Freddie March Memorial Trophy has been a mainstay of the Goodwood Revival for many years with its mixture of stunning sports cars from the days of the Goodwood Nine Hours. As 2023 marks the 70th anniversary of the 1953 event, the Freddie March Memorial Trophy will run as our two-driver sunset race on Friday evening. Expect to see the likes of the mighty Jaguar C-Type, Aston Martin DB3S, Jaguar XK120, Frazer Nash and Austin Healey go head-to-head.

Goodwood Trophy – Grand Prix and Voiturette cars from the 30s and 40s
A firm-favourite amongst spectators, the Goodwood Trophy will host an impressive collection of Grand Prix and Voiturette cars from the 1930s and 40s. The Revival’s oldest race will again see the cars that raced at Goodwood when the Circuit first opened do battle on the track. Expect to see cars from ERA, Maserati, Alta and many more.

Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy – Grand Prix motorcycles from the 1960s
Probably the most nail biting of all the races at Revival, the Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy will host a battle of 1960s Grand Prix motorcycles. Expect riding legends from the world of British Superbikes, MotoGP and the Isle of Man TT to race in this pair of two-rider tussles.

St Mary’s Trophy – Saloon 1950s cars
Bringing the touring car battle to the Revival, the St Mary’s Trophy will host everything from Austin A40s to Jaguar MkIs and Alfa Romeo Giuliettas. Similar to the Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy, the St. Mary’s Trophy switches decade each year, meaning that in 2023 it will be a collection of 1950s saloon cars taking the track by storm.

Glover Trophy – 1.5-litre Grand Prix cars from 1961-1965
The Revival’s most up-to-date Formula 1 race must be one of the most anticipated tests of the historic motorsport season. Today, the Glover Trophy celebrates legendary racers including Jackie Stewart, Jim Clark and Graham Hill, with the kinds of cars they raced at the time: Lotus 25, BRM P261, Ferrari 1512.

Lavant Cup – Ferrari GTs of 1960-1966
Paying homage to 60 years since Graham Hill won the RAC TT at Goodwood behind the wheel of a Ferrari 250 GTO, the Lavant Cup will welcome an entire grid of 1960s Ferrari GTs to the 2023 race schedule. Expect eye-wateringly beautiful GTOs to go up against the likes of 250 SWBs and 250 LMs in what may very well be the last time some of these cars race competitively.

Chichester Cup – Formula Junior cars from 1960-1963
These tiny, yet agile racing machines will put on a magnificent battle as the likes of Lotus and Cooper go head to head. Formula Junior cars play an important part in motorsport history – the cars on track will mimic those driven by the racing stars of the 1960s and 1970s.

Richmond & Gordon Trophies – 2.5-litre Grand Prix cars from 1952-1960
A race from the era that changed Formula 1 forever and the larger-engined Grand Prix cars of the later 1950s. This was the period where front-engined and rear-engined cars shared a grid, as Cooper’s backward innovation began to change the face of single-seater racing forever. The Richmond & Gordon Trophies will feature both front and rear-engined Formula 1 cars as they battle much like they did back in the 20th century.

RAC TT Celebration – closed-cockpit GT and prototype cars from 1960 to 1964
Celebrating the period where flagship RAC TT racing was held at Goodwood, the RAC TT Celebration is at the very centre of historic motorsport for Goodwood. Heading into battle will be lightweight Jaguar E-Types, Cobras, Corvette Sting Rays, Porsche 904s, and more alongside a host of VIP stars.

Whitsun Trophy – Sports-prototypes from 1960-1966
The fastest race of the Goodwood Revival weekend returns again with a mixture of Can-Am cars, Ford GT40s and other big-engined racers from the end of Goodwood’s active period. Together they look – and sound – incredible as they dice on the sweeping confines of the Goodwood Motor Circuit.

Sussex Trophy – World Championship sports cars from 1955-1960
Filled with the likes of the beautiful Ferrari 246S Dino, Lister Knobblys and Lotus 15s, the Sussex Trophy never fails to entertain, with recent races going right down to the drag out of the Chicane to decide the winner. As the sun begins to set on the Revival’s weekend these beauties of sports car racing’s early heyday will keep everyone from leaving early heyday will keep everyone from leaving early, making it the perfect curtain closer on a brilliant three days of motorsport.

Further announcements about the Goodwood Revival will be made in the coming months.
