Goodwood Festival of Speed – Latest Announcements

Toyota will bring Le Mans fever to the Goodwood Festival of Speed on June 26-29 with a never-before-assembled collection of its four most recent prototype sports racers.

Factory racer and ex-Formula 1 driver Anthony Davidson will tackle the fabled 1.16-mile Goodwood Hillclimb in the Japanese manufacturer’s new TS040 HYBRID, less than a fortnight after it makes its Le Mans race debut.

Joining the all-new TS040 will a Group C TS010, an example of which finished second at Le Mans in 1992, and the sensational TS020 – better known as the GT-One – which wowed crowds at Goodwood in 2011. Last year’s World Endurance Championship race-winning TS030 will also make an appearance.

Toyota’s commitment to motorsport excellence, which has manifested itself in four World Rally Championship drivers’ and manufacturers’ titles plus victories in the FIA World Sportscar and World Endurance Championships, Super GT, IMSA and NASCAR, perfectly encapsulates the 2014 Festival of Speed theme: ‘Addicted to Winning’.

Joining the sportscars at Goodwood will be Toyota Motorsport’s awesome 470bhp electric TMG EV P002, which will tackle the Hillclimb for the first time and has been prepared with help from Rod Millen – a man with three of the 20 fastest ascents of the 1.16-mile hill to his name.

Two icons of Toyota’s rally history; 1979 world champion Bjorn Waldegard and David Llewellyn – who won both of his British Rally Championship titles in Celica GT4s, will be on hand to drive a selection of winning machinery from past and present.
