Indian Motorcycle Enhances Desirability With New FTR Carbon
Indian Motorcycle, America’s First Motorcycle Company, has today announced the 2020 FTR Carbon – a premium addition to the FTR line up. The 2020 FTR Carbon enhances the desirability of the highly innovative model by featuring exquisite carbon fibre bodywork with a low-mount black Akrapovič exhaust. Inspired by the Indian FTR750, which has dominated Flat Track Racing with three Grand National Titles in a row, it is clear to see the FTR Carbon has racing in its DNA.
“For the discerning rider, the FTR Carbon offers a collectable motorcycle with the highest level of finish and raises the bar for American motorcycles once again,” said Mike Dougherty, President of Indian Motorcycle. “Delivering the finest riding experience and with the carbon accents enhancing the unique FTR styling, the FTR Carbon is sure to draw admiring looks anywhere you ride.”
Adding to a host of premium features and riding technologies, the 2020 FTR Carbon is enriched with:
• Carbon fibre front fender
• Carbon fibre headlight nacelle
• Carbon fibre tank/airbox covers
• Carbon fibre passenger seat cowl
• Titanium Akrapovič low-mount exhaust in black
• ‘FTR Carbon’ branded centre console plate
The FTR Carbon comes fully-loaded with cruise control, dual disc Brembo ABS brakes, traction control, full LED lighting for better visibility, and a 4.3” LED touchscreen dashboard featuring a USB fast-charge port and Bluetooth compatibility for charging and controlling mobile devices.
Providing a perfect balance of comfort, control and agility, the FTR Carbon combines long travel (150mm) fully adjustable suspension with a commanding, upright riding position for predictable, precise cornering and city manoeuvrability.
The smooth, liquid-cooled 1203cc V-twin engine, developing 93 kW of power and 120 Nm of torque, has an impressively flat torque curve and strong acceleration throughout the RPM range. Progressive, predictable power delivery and plenty of flexible low-end punch make for an exhilarating riding experience whether commuting, slicing through the city, or escaping to the countryside.
For improved confidence and control, lean-angle sensitive stability control, ABS, traction control, and wheelie mitigation control can be modified by three Ride Modes (Sport, Standard, Rain) providing unique throttle responses and traction control intervention levels.
The 2020 FTR Carbon is compatible with the extensive range of 40+ accessories specifically developed for the FTR platform, giving riders the ability to further customise their FTR with an almost endless combination of stylish and practical options.
