New front brakes improve Suzuki SV650 stopping power for 2019
The middleweight naked is already widely-praised, courtesy of the punchy V-twin engine at its heart. It’s also applauded for its nimble chassis and the sporty ride it delivers, a ride that will only be enhanced with adoption of the new calipers.
The changes will also further improve the bike’s performance in Minitwin and Stocktwin racing championships, where regulations stipulate the use of standard calipers.
As well as new brakes, the venerable middleweight will come with new colour options for 2019. Utilising a dark red trellis frame and red wheels is a new silver version, while an all-black model and a white and black variant will sport a blue frame and wheels.
The SV650X – which gets café racer styling and lower clip-on handlebars for an even sportier riding position – will also benefit from the upgraded brakes in 2019, and comes in a white and black retro livery plus a new brown tuck-roll seat.
The 2019 SV650 and SV650X will be in dealerships in spring, and will be on display at Motorcycle Live, which takes place from 17-25 November at the NEC in Birmingham.
