Suzuki Adds Bandit 600 to Race Parts Programme
Suzuki has announced the addition of the GSF600 Bandit to its popular Race Parts Programme, following the launch of the Suzuki Bandit Challenge series that will run with Formula Prostocks Racing in 2016.
The series, which is open to Mk1 and Mk2 600cc Bandits, is aimed at providing a competitive class of racing, while keeping costs to a minimum with reliable machinery and by limiting modifications.
To help make the class even more affordable Suzuki is offering ACU licence holders discounts of up to 58% on Bandit 600 parts, from complete gasket sets to carburettor assemblies, replacement crankcases to con-rods and pistons, and even replacement frames.
Suzuki GB’s Tim Davies said, “Here at Suzuki we love racing and it’s an important part of our brand heritage. The Formula Prostocks Suzuki Bandit Challenge is going to be a really great series, with close and competitive racing on similar machinery, all while keeping costs down by using a bike that’s developed a reputation for being incredibly reliable. However, we know going racing does cost money, which is why we’re delighted to offer ACU licence holders discounts on parts to keep their bikes on the track and keep them competitive.”
Keith Chambers from Formula Prostocks Racing, added, “Myself and a few friends were discussing how we started racing 15 or 20 years ago, and we all started in basic, affordable, production classes, where you would buy a road bike, strip off the lights, put on some decent tyres and go racing. And that’s how the Suzuki Bandit Challenge came to be. Although we all know that racing isn’t cheap, with the Bandit’s bulletproof motor, the fact that they sold so well and there are so many around, and Suzuki GB’s parts support, you can get a competitive race bike put together for relatively little money.”
The Bandit 600 joins the full stable of GSX-R machinery that is also included on Suzuki’s Race Parts Programme, as well as the SV650 and SFV650.
