SW-Motech set up the Street for the Open Road
Combining Daytona 675 performance with an upright riding position, Triumph’s Street Triple Rx has the potential to cover some serious miles, but stripped-out street bike styling offers little concession to carrying capacity. Now, thanks to SW Motech’s comprehensive luggage range, owners can choose from a wide range of bags.
The Blaze® Pannier system uses a clever ‘Quick-Lock’ mounting rail, which clamps to the footrest hangers, securing the bags without extra straps/bungees. The rails can be removed in seconds, leaving only the discrete clamps behind. The Panniers are made from 1680 Ballistic-Nylon, with a stiff construction to help maintain shape. They expand from 28 to 42-litre capacity (per pair), and come with waterproof inner bags. Price: £190.96 including VAT.
Other Tail Packs suitable for the Triumph are also available; features include tough 1680 Ballistic Nylon construction, super stable four-point attachment system, compression straps, expanding sections, internal compartments, and waterproof inner bags/zips. Capacities range from 13- to a whopping 90-litres and prices start at £80.08.
The Rearbag sits neatly on the pillion seat or luggage rack and offers up to 36 litre capacity – sufficient to hold a full-face helmet. Like the panniers, it’s made from a hard-wearing fabric. Separate integrated compartments make organising and keeping track of kit easy and the waterproof inner bag and zip helps protect contents from the elements. Price: £129.35.
The Quick-Lock Evo tank ring system is also available for the Rx. Quick and simple to fit and remove, thanks to the unique fuel filler cam mounting system, they offer extra storage and easy access to travel documents, maps and other essentials. A 12V option enables charging of Sat Nav systems and mobile phones too. Tank rings cost £24.64 and prices for tank bags start at £56.32.
Dry Bags are constructed from tough, durable and 100% waterproof welded tarpaulin, which keeps contents completely dry. Roll and clip closure gives easy access, additional zipped pockets/sections also feature, so smaller items can be easily found. A four-point strapping system gives stability, with the flexibility to find appropriate mounting points. D-rings are also included, for use with additional straps, if needed. Ergonomic carry straps and handles make them easy to carry off the bike. Prices start at £33.43 for the 18-litre Drybag 180.
Mounting kits for GPS devices, smartphones and video cameras – including the model-specific Quick-Lock GPS mount with quick release fastener; Handguards; Mirror Extenders plus Axle and Frame Sliders are also available for the Rx, and the other Street Triple models.
