2024 Arai Limited Edition IOM TT Design Unveiling

The Isle of Man TT Races just keeps getting better, and bigger every year. The spectacular celebration of motorcycling, raced over 37.73 miles of real roads, draws competitors and fans from around the world.

It’s also an event that for decades has run through Arai’s DNA. Many of the TT racers wear Arai for the performance, protection and comfort at high speeds that the brand’s helmets offer, while we put great effort into supporting all Arai wearers in the Isle with service and spares.

The recently renewed style of the Isle of Man TT Races has proven to be great inspiration for Aldo Drudi’s stunning new design, which draws on the key colourways with sleek racing stripes. As ever, the key components always present are the Triskelion (three legs of man) unified by a bold ‘double’ TT logo on the sides, subtle chequered flag motif and Ellan Vannin (Isle of Man in Manx) neatly placed on the bottom.

Underneath this spectacular new design, we always try to find something to improve. It’s our Priority for Protection: a relentless pursuit for more gains in protection in addition to meeting required safety standards. That is why we continue to evolve head protection by making steadfast improvements wherever possible, building on our unbroken seven decades of foundation in our three-generation family company. We do this with a rounder, stronger and smoother outer shell that excels in Glancing Off (impact energy management) at the core of every Arai helmet. After all, what we are seeking to protect is priceless.

Akihito Arai, Arai Helmet (Europe) B.V. Managing Director:
“Wow. This is always a special moment for all of us at Arai Helmet and the 2024 RX-7V Limited Edition EVO IoM TT is absolutely amazing. Drudi Performance has excelled and created something so fresh, yet with all the elements of the design that fans and collectors expect. We had no idea when we started 15 years ago how important every year’s special TT helmet would become to so many people. All I can say now is – roll on next year’s TT!”

Arai Rapide

Exclusive to the UK, the Rapide recalls the simple yet aggressive styling of naked motorcycles from the 1980s, with modern Arai performance.

The smooth shell gives a distinctive, retro-modern style, using a strong, multi-layer laminate construction that is, as with all Arai helmets, hand built by master craftsmen in Japan.

Using a VAS VC visor system, which has mechanical retro look, allows the visor mount to be lower contributing to a smoother, rounder shell.

Finally, the Rapide uses Arai’s multi- channel ventilation system where air is drawn through the chin and brow vents and into the liner providing cooling for the rider.

Why Arai indeed? The Arai Quantic

Maja Kenney of Maja’s Motorcycle Adventures tests new Arai Quantic Helmet with many thanks to Arai UK check Arai UK for more info

I’ve heard people swear by Arai and I always wondered what the appeal is. They look quite big and round in shape, not exactly flattering compared to some other brands. The new Quantic is not the lightest of helmets I have, in fact, at 1.6 kg it is quite a bit heavier than some of the other helmets I have.

It is marketed as a sports-touring helmet. Unfortunately, it doesn’t come with an internal visor, which for me, seems a great option to have when you are away from home for days and weeks at a time.

Installing the intercom system wasn’t the easiest compared to others, quite a bit of faffing with the liner and I still have a cable showing on the side. This may well be a user error but I managed to hide everything in my other helmets so it can’t be all me.

Despite this, the moment I put the Arai Quantic on my head I loved it instantly. The way it fits around my head and face makes you feel like you are in a safe haven. The materials are soft and seem kind to skin and the inside of the helmet hugs your head in a way that just makes you feel safe. I was keen to go for a ride and see how my face will look like after a few hours of riding.

The first thing I noticed was the ventilation. There are several vents that actually work! It was a hot day and I could feel the air circulation around my head. There are three vents at the top of the helmet. One at the front behind the 3D Arai logo that you control by opening or closing the catch at the top. Then there are two on each side and slightly further up that you push forwards or backward depending on whether you want them open or close.

A large chin vent that is easy to move with the gloves on lets plenty of air in. Then there are two vents in the visor itself, these worked great when my glasses steamed up!

And lastly, a vent at the back of the helmet under the rear spoiler, to let the air out.

The air direction was definitely felt, especially at the crown of my head which I welcomed very much as it kept me cool for the whole ride.

The helmet isn’t terribly quiet which did surprise me. It is really good on a calm day but I did find it very noisy in the wind.

After wearing it for a couple of hours on a day out riding there were no lines on my face, no telltale signs of a new helmet. It fitted perfectly and whilst it is firm around my face it is also very easy to take off and put back on again.

It is not the perfect helmet in terms of ticking the boxes but despite it all, there is something about it that makes me feel super safe wearing it. It is incredibly comfortable and it has now become my main helmet for long trips and tours. I have a feeling Arai might become my go-to helmet from now on.

Arai Profile-V

The Profile-V has a fresh, aggressive style unique in the range and is designed to welcome riders to the Arai family with the plush comfort, protection and features expected of the brand but also something else – easy access on and off.

Like every Arai, the Profile-V uses a strong outer shell designed to glance off impact forces whilst maintaining integrity, working with a softer one-piece multi-density EPS inner liner to absorb, and spread impact energy.

It’s designed around the Variable Axis System (VAS) for a smoother shape plus reinforcing Hyper Ridge that lowers the centre of gravity and flares out 5mm to make putting it on or off easier. It is equipped with dual intake vents, brow vents and a three-way chin vent plus five exhausts.

The VAS-V MAX vision visor is Pinlock ready and uses an F1- derived latch mechanism; the semi-removable interior features Facial Contour System (FCS) and speaker pockets. The Arai experience starts here.
