Exciting New Updates to Royal Enfield’s Globally Successful 650 Twins

Royal Enfield’s immensely successful parallel twin motorcycles, the Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650 have appealed to enthusiasts all over the world for their authenticity and fun riding experience since 2018.

Today, Royal Enfield unveiled the new, augmented variants of these motorcycles at the Lyon Motor Show, France. New variants of the Interceptor and Continental GT 650 come in stunning new colourways and with enhanced functional and ergonomic features.

Interceptor Barcelona Blue

The Interceptor 650, will be available in two blacked-out variants – Black Ray & Barcelona Blue – The new paint options join the existing community favourites Mark 2, Sunset Strip and Canyon Red.

GT Apex Grey

On the Continental GT 650, Royal Enfield has also introduced two new blacked out versions: Slipstream Blue and Apex Grey. These will be offered alongside the current line-up of celebrated colourways – Mr Clean, Dux Dulux, British Racing Green and Rocker Red. All new colourways will come with functional and ergonomic features like enhanced seat comfort, new switchgear, a USB charging port and an all new LED headlamp.

The new blacked out variants on the Interceptor and the Continental GT will feature blacked-out engine and exhaust parts. This look adds to the aesthetics of the motorcycle, seamlessly fusing with its chassis and keeping the spotlight on its tank for a look that is guaranteed to make hearts race and heads turn. What will make these motorcycles even more amazing are the cast alloy wheels and tubeless tyres that will come as standard on the blacked-out variants of the Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650

Commenting on the introduction of the new updated 650 Twin motorcycles, B. Since their launch in September 2018, the 650 Twins have been extremely well received by motorcycle enthusiasts globally and have been instrumental in the brand’s global expansion and success over the last few years. The Interceptor 650, a quintessential roadster, has made a mark in the hearts of automotive enthusiasts around the world winning several awards like the MCN ‘Retro Motorcycle of the Year’, twice in a row. The Continental GT 650 has grown to become a hallmark of cafe racing culture around the world and has been at the forefront of nurturing motorcycling sub-cultures and communities in India.

The updated 650 Twins will be on-sale in UK dealer showrooms from today (23rd February, 2023). Blacked-out variants are available at £6,599 for Interceptor 650 and £6,799 for Continental GT 650.

Royal Enfield Announces ‘Thunder & Lightning’ Special Editions

Royal Enfield announces ‘Thunder & Lightning’ Special Editions of the award winning Continental GT and Interceptor 650 Twins.

Royal Enfield, the global leader in mid-size motorcycles (250cc-750cc), have revealed two special editions of their best-selling 650 Twin motorcycles – the Thunder Edition Continental GT 650 and the Lightning Edition Interceptor 650 will be outfitted with a premium range of Genuine Motorcycle Accessories as standard equipment.

The special edition accessorised machines both feature Royal Enfield’s iconic six speed, 648cc, parallel twin, finished with polished aluminium cases. Riding dynamics are maintained with the taught, classically inspired chassis developed alongside Harris Performance by the team at Royal Enfield’s UK Technology Centre, to ensure it can handle varied riding styles and terrains with ease and agility, while retaining period style.

Thunder Edition Continental GT 650
The Thunder Edition Continental GT packs all you need for a weekend getaway of two-wheeled nostalgia, with its unmistakable café-racer credentials, sculpted fuel tank, rearset footrests and race-style clip-on handlebars are complimented by a suite of streamlined factory fitted accessory upgrades to escape the city limits. Proven ergonomics enable it to remain comfortable when used as a stylish city bike or tackling the open-road.

The Lightning Edition Interceptor 650 has been accessorised to explore further on the road less travelled, its distinctive teardrop tank with traditional scalloped knee recesses and wide braced handlebars pay homage to the original Interceptor that dominated the street scrambler style of ’60s California. Its comfortable and commanding riding position are both fun and practical for touring and exploring on all types of terrain, from curving coastal roads to the urban jungle, heading out of town two-up or cruising down to the beach in style.

Royal Enfield marks 120th year with anniversary edition models of the Interceptor and Continental GT650 Motorcycles.

To commemorate Royal Enfield’s landmark 120th celebrations and their heritage as the oldest motorcycle manufacturer in production, the brand today announced the flash sale details for the 120th Year Anniversary Editions of its popular 650 Twin motorcycles – the Interceptor INT 650 and the Continental GT 650.

Conceptualized and designed to showcase Royal Enfield’s rich and storied legacy, the motorcycles present a unique opportunity for global enthusiasts to own a piece of motorcycling history. With a limited production run of only 120 units allocated to the European market – 60 Continental GT 650 and 60 Interceptor INT 650 – these motorcycles are true collector’s items. The Limited Edition Motorcycles will be available to buy on a first-come-first-serve basis via the Flash Sale that will go live on Monday 7th March at 5:30pm GMT.

legendary Royal Enfield Interceptor 750 and Continental GT 250 of the 1960’s, these motorcycles have been instrumental in the brand’s global expansion and success over the last few years. The significance and relevance of the Interceptor INT and the Continental GT 650, both in Royal Enfield’s glorious past, and modern history, made them an obvious choice for the anniversary edition.

The 120th Year anniversary edition Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 have been designed and handcrafted by the company’s teams across the UK and India. The unique, rich black-chrome tank colour scheme has been developed in-house using Royal Enfield’s industry-leading chroming technology at the company’s original 1950’s manufacturing factory in Thiruvottiyur, Chennai – India.

To complement the black chrome tanks, both the Continental GT 650 and Interceptor 650 will feature, for the first time, completely blacked out components with the engine, silencer and other elements in an array of black colour schemes. The motorcycles will also come equipped with a range of Genuine Motorcycle Accessories such as flyscreens, engine guards, heel guards, touring and bar end mirrors amongst others in a black disguise to complement the overall design.

In celebration of the brand’s renown for finishes by hand, the 120th Year Anniversary edition motorcycles will feature a very unique, handcrafted, die-cast brass tank badge. These exquisite looking brass badges have been made in collaboration with the ‘Sirpi Senthil’ family who are multi-generational artisans from the temple town of Kumbakonam, Tamil Nadu, India. Particularly specialized in making the elegant brass effigies for the most revered temples in India for centuries, this is the first time that these artisans have collaborated with any automotive brand. The motorcycles will also be finished with the legendary Royal Enfield hand-painted pinstripes.

To make each motorcycle even more exclusive, the tank top badge will feature its own unique serial number indicating that it is 1 of 60 unique motorcycles in Europe. Additionally, the motorcycles will also adorn a side panel decal that is a tribute to Royal Enfield’s 120 years.

With a limited production run of only 480 units; distributed as 120 units each for Europe, India, South-East Asia, and the Americas – 60 Continental GT 650 and 60 Interceptor INT 650 – these motorcycles are true collectors items.
