The Storm is Coming Triumph Unveils Two New Rocket 3 Models

The Storm is Coming Triumph Unveils Two New Rocket 3 ModelsTwenty years after the first record-breaking Rocket III burst onto the motorcycle scene as the ultimate muscle roadster, a new generation of Rocket has been revealed, delivering more performance, better handling and a dark, moody colour scheme.

It even has a new name, the Rocket 3 Storm, to match its muscular style and spectacular riding experience.

Featuring the world’s largest production motorcycle engine with a capacity of 2,458cc, the new Rocket 3 Storm R and GT gain 15PS peak power, now delivering a massive 182PS at 7,000rpm.

Torque has also been increased by 4Nm, reaching a new peak of 225Nm at a low 4,000rpm. This flat, rich torque curve with maximum torque all the way through the mid-range gives explosive acceleration and effortless response in any gear.

The Rocket’s 16-inch rear and 17-inch front wheels have been updated with a sportier ten-spoke cast aluminium design, reducing unsprung mass. This reduction has a positive impact on steering response while on the move, improving the Rocket’s already impressive agility. The strong and lightweight aluminium frame, first introduced in 2019, uses cast and forged elements for an exceptional torque-to-weight ratio.

Following the sales success of recent special edition Rockets which featured blacked-out components, the new Rocket 3 Storm models feature a dark, moody colour scheme and an impeccable level of quality detailing.

The large 18 litre tank features the new Storm name, and each model has three distinctive two-tone colour options. The R is available in Carnival Red with Sapphire Black, Satin Pacific Blue with Matt Sapphire Black and Sapphire Black with Granite. The GT is available in the same colours, but the split of the tank is reversed, providing a distinctive, high impact look and consistent colour choice across both models. The Rocket 3 Storm also comes with high-quality black finishes throughout.

Also new for 2024, the Rocket 3 Storm now exceeds the latest Euro 5b requirements, featuring liquid cooling, low emissions and excellent fuel efficiency.

Paul Stroud, Triumph’s Chief Commercial Officer, said: “Known around the world as the ultimate muscle roadster, the Rocket has already achieved global sales of more than 18,000 since the 2.5 litre engine was introduced in 2019. By listening to feedback from our customers, we know they love the Rocket’s muscular presence and heart-stopping performance. We also know that riders desire even more.

“That’s why the new Rocket 3 Storm R and GT have been given an impressive power and torque increase, even greater agility and an even darker, moodier style and presence on the road.”

EXCEPTIONAL HANDLING

Harnessing the Rocket’s impressive performance to deliver a controlled and compliant ride, is a Showa monoshock RSU and piggy-back reservoir, fully adjustable for rebound and compression damping and preload. The forks are large 47mm Showas, adjustable for rebound and compression damping.

Exceptional stopping power is provided by top-specification radial Brembo Stylema brake calipers with twin 320mm discs. These lightweight, compact, and high performing calipers offer great airflow for pad cooling during spirited riding. The Brembo M4.32 4 piston radial monobloc rear caliper and 300mm rear disc is bigger and more powerful than the front brake setup on many bikes, helping to provide massive stopping power. The Rocket 3 Storm retains full optimised cornering ABS functionality.

DISTINCT ERGONOMICS

Each Rocket offers a distinct feel and personality, due to key differences in their ergonomics. The Rocket R’s roadster rider position and handlebar placement is designed to provide optimum power and control, to create a relaxed and engaging ride. The GT has a slightly more swept back set-up with a 125mm difference in grip position versus the R, for a more upright riding position.

Each model also gets its own dedicated seating set-up, each with premium black painted cast aluminium seat finishers. The Rocket 3 Storm R has a roadster rider and pillion seat with a 773mm seat height, offering comfort, low-speed confidence and manoeuvrability. The GT has a sculpted touring rider seat with a more generously padded pillion seat and an adjustable pillion backrest. The seat height for the GT is just 750mm, further improving comfort for the rider.

The biggest difference between the two models is the footpeg positions. The R has mid-foot controls, with two settings that offer 15mm of vertical adjustment, to cater for every size of rider, delivering a natural and sporty riding position. The GT has feet forward foot controls giving a laid-back custom bike feel, with three horizontal position settings offering 50mm of adjustment, to provide the most comfortable position for long rides. Both R and GT models have innovative, neat, blacked out, retractable pillion footrests.

BLACKED OUT STYLE

Flawlessly engineered with unparalleled attention to detail, the Rocket 3 Storm sets the benchmark for premium finish. From the black powder-coated intake cover to the hydro-formed exhaust headers, the materials used throughout the Rocket 3 Storm have been carefully chosen with an unmatched attention to detail, to deliver blacked-out attitude.

On top of that, Rocket 3 Storm also comes with high-quality black anodised finishes throughout; rear frame forging, swingarm guard, forks lowers and yokes, risers and handlebar clamps, RSU Rocker, seat finisher, footrests & hangers for rider and pillion, brake and gear pedals, levers, and side stand.

Amplifying the bikes’ aggressive stance and attitude, both Rocket 3 Storms have twin LED headlights with the Triumph maker’s mark triangle and signature shaped daytime running lights (DRL)*. There are LED indicators, rear light and number plate light, delivering a really distinctive light signature.

RIDER FOCUSED TECHNOLOGY

From lean-angle sensitive ABS and traction control to switchable throttle maps and intuitive cruise control, rider-focused technology allows riders to confidently exploit the Rocket 3 Storm’s epic performance potential.

Ride-by-wire enhances rideability, safety and control, while the Rocket’s high-performance gearbox is engineered with helical cut gears to transmit the huge torque to the rear wheel smoothly. The Torque Assist clutch helps riders shift up and down the six-speed box with satisfying speed and smoothness, while a Quickshifter is available as an accessory fit for both models.

Both models feature optimised cornering ABS and traction control for enhanced stability, improving both straight line and cornering, acceleration and braking. Hill Hold prevents the bike rolling backwards and applies the rear brake until sensing the rider is starting to move off. Both come equipped with four riding modes, road, rain, sport and rider-configurable, which adjusts the throttle map and traction control settings.

The electronic cruise control system is fitted as standard as well. Activated by a single press of the button, the speed can be set and adjusted up or down in 1mph increments, as well as be resumed with just one touch.

Both models feature a high functionality full colour TFT set-up with a five-way back-lit joystick. This has a minimal stylish design with two information layout design themes, and the adjustable instrument angle set-up provides optimum visibility for every height of rider. The rider can even personalise the start-up screen message with their name.

Adding extra security, both bikes have standard fit keyless ignition and steering lock, which can be disabled. The key fob can also be turned off to prolong battery life and increase security. There is also a USB charging socket in a dedicated compartment under the seat, where devices can be kept safe and dry while charging.

MAKE THE ROCKET 3 STORM YOUR OWN

With over 50 Genuine Triumph Accessories to add comfort, practicality, style and security, riders can customise their Rocket to make it truly bespoke. Customers can choose from interchangeable R and GT foot controls, rider and pillion seats for tailored ergonomics, plug and play technology for greater convenience, styling parts to customise the look and luggage solutions for longer rides. Designed hand-in-hand with our motorcycles and manufactured to the same exacting standards, all Triumph accessories have the same two-year unlimited mileage warranty as the bikes themselves.

Triumph Reveals New Daytona 660

Triumph has revealed an all-new triple powered middleweight sports bike for 2024. The Daytona 660 delivers thrilling sports performance, a dynamic ride and the highest quality, capability and specification in its class.

Featuring a significant evolution of Triumph’s distinctive and unique 660cc triple engine, now with 95PS peak power and 69Nm of peak torque, the Daytona 660 provides a smooth, responsive and linear delivery with the perfect combination of low-down torque, mid-range and top-end power. As well as delivering 17% more power and 9% more torque than the Trident, the Daytona 660 also has a brand-new exhaust, creating an unmistakeable sports soundtrack.

The Daytona 660’s perfectly balanced chassis and intuitive, agile sports handling is combined with all-day riding comfort, thanks to high specification equipment including Showa upside down big piston 41mm forks and Showa preload adjustable monoshock RSU.  The radial four piston brakes with twin 310mm discs and braided brake lines are paired with Michelin’s new Power 6 tyres.

Combined with an 810mm seat height, narrow stand-over and optimised bar and footpeg position, the Daytona 660 delivers an exciting and confidence-inspiring ride.

Ensuring riders always feel in complete control, the Daytona 660 is equipped with rider-focused technology including three riding modes (Sport, Road and Rain) which optimise throttle response and traction control settings for the conditions, plus there’s a new Emergency Deceleration Warning system that activates the hazard lights to alert other road users during heavy braking.

The unmistakeable Daytona design DNA has been reimagined with fresh attitude for an aggressive new stance and clean lines. Distinctive twin LED headlights incorporate a central air intake and the minimal bodywork emphasises the athletic profile, ending in a contoured LED tail light. There are three striking colour options available, all featuring a bold ‘660’ race-inspired graphic.

As Triumph customers would expect, the Daytona has more than 30 Genuine Triumph Accessories to tailor performance, comfort, style and practicality, including an A2 licence kit, with a dedicated throttle twist grip and an engine tune that limits power to 35kW.

A 10,000-mile service interval, two-year unlimited mileage warranty and Triumph’s strong residual values contribute to securing a competitive cost of ownership, the lowest in the class.

Steve Sargent, Triumph’s Chief Product Officer said: “The 660 has all the attitude and agility you’d expect from the Daytona name, and brings with it the thrilling, useable, real world performance and all-day comfort that riders today are looking for. We are excited by the impact the Daytona 660 is going to have on the growing middleweight sports world.”

THRILLING SPORTS PERFORMANCE
The perfect combination of low-down torque, thrilling top-end and unrivalled character, the Daytona’s triple delivers 95PS at 11,250rpm with a hair-raising 12,650rpm redline. More than 80 percent of its 69Nm of peak torque is available from just 3,125rpm delivering responsive  sporty and fully usable performance. By blending low-down torque and the tractability of a twin with the free-revving top end performance of an inline four, the engine has a unique triple soundtrack, further enhanced by the new exhaust which features 3 into 1 headers and a compact underslung silencer with stainless steel finisher.

Power is delivered effortlessly through a slick six-speed gearbox and Triumph’s Torque Assist clutch ensures a progressive, light lever action with a span optimised clutch lever for better reach. The clutch design also improves rear wheel control under hard deceleration for smooth, confident corner entry. Triumph’s Shift Assist is available as an accessory fit for fast and effortless clutch-less up and down shifts and even easier riding in town.

For riders starting their Daytona ride with an A2 licence, an accessory fit conversion kit enables compliance with a replacement throttle grip and unique engine tune, that can be easily fitted, or reverted to standard, by a Triumph dealer.

AGILE, DYNAMIC RIDE
The new Daytona 660 benefits from years of race-winning chassis development, and with its lightweight sports frame, top quality Showa 41mm upside down, big-piston front forks and a Showa rear suspension unit, it delivers an easy and agile ride. The rear suspension also features remote preload adjustment for quick set-up alterations.

Lightweight five-spoked cast aluminium wheels keep rotating mass low for even more responsive handling and enhanced suspension performance and Michelin’s new high-specification Power 6 tyres are fitted as standard to deliver confident road handling in wet and dry conditions. With twin four-piston radial calipers paired to lightweight 310mm discs and fed by braided lines, plus a Continental ABS modulator, the Daytona 660 has excellent stopping power and braking feel too.

RIDER-FOCUSED TECHNOLOGY
The Daytona 660 features technology that enhances the riding experience and safety.

The ride-by-wire throttle delivers a crisp and precise throttle response and also allows for three riding modes; Sport, Road and Rain. Each mode offers a different throttle response and level of traction control intervention, with Sport mode providing the most reactive throttle response for full-on road rides or track sessions. The traction control system can also be turned off using the instrument menu for riders who prefer complete freedom from electronic intervention.

The multi-functional instruments feature a colour TFT screen integrated into a white-on-black LCD display. Compact, and with an uncluttered design, all the rider information is clearly displayed and is easy to read in different light conditions. This neat unit is compatible with the accessory fit My Triumph Connectivity System that enables turn-by-turn navigation plus phone and music interaction. All functions are clearly displayed on the TFT screen and controlled via the switchgear for ease of use while riding.

CONTROL & COMFORT
With racy clip-on bars positioned above the top yoke and pegs placed for the optimum balance of comfort and cornering clearance, the Daytona 660’s natural riding position is perfectly judged to give the feedback needed for dynamic sports riding with space and comfort necessary for long days in the saddle. At lower speeds, the Daytona’s perfectly-weighted controls and light steering give superb control in urban environments.

Split rider and pillion seats, with a rider seat height of 810mm and a narrow stand-over make the Daytona 660 manageable for riders of all sizes, and an accessory low seat is also available, lowering the seat height by 25mm to just 785mm.

MAKE THE DAYTONA 660 YOUR OWN
There are over 30 Genuine Triumph Accessories available, all engineered alongside the motorcycle, tested to the same high standards, and carrying the same two-year unlimited mileage warranty.

Riders looking for an even more distinctive race paddock style can choose a colour-coded seat cowl as well as a range of beautifully engineered billet-machined parts including an oil filler cap, pre-drilled for lock-wiring, paddock stand bobbins, bar end finishers and a rear brake reservoir.

The My Triumph Connectivity System allows easy and intuitive phone and music operation plus turn-by-turn navigation and is available as an accessory on the Daytona 660. Triumph Shift Assist can also be added, providing clutch-less, full-throttle upshifting and seamless downshifting with auto-blip.

Other additions include heated grips, an under-seat USB socket and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS). A tank bag and tail pack are also available, adding 20 litres of stylish carrying capacity.

New security accessories, subject to availability by market, include the Triumph Protect+ alarm system, and Triumph Track+ tracker with 24/7 monitoring as well as comprehensive range of locks.

Developed entirely by Triumph in close collaboration with racing champions including Ricky Carmichael and Iván Cervantes, the new four stroke competition model is an all-new ground-up design. The performance racing powertrain and unique aluminium chassis are ultra compact and super light, with all the best components on the market, already fitted out of the crate.

With a focused, aggressive style, the TF 250-X is slim, yet bold and will be instantly recognisable on the track, with its minimal and lightweight presence and distinctive Triumph Racing Yellow and black graphics scheme.

A new Triumph network of specialist motocross dealers, will be offering sales, servicing, parts and a new dedicated range of apparel, backed by a mobile-optimised 24/7 online parts supply system, so customers can order for express delivery, straight from the track.

Triumph Motorcycles’ Chief Product Manager, Steve Sargent, said: “The launch of the TF 250-X is the culmination of a significant commitment and investment from Triumph, to not just bring a totally new bike to the motocross world, but to deliver a winning performance. To achieve this, we are focused on delivering the most complete package for any riding level, from champion to amateur.

“This bike is 100% Triumph, conceived, designed, developed and manufactured by our world leading chassis and engine teams, with expert support from our racing champions. We started with a blank sheet of paper and began an all-new ground-up design, including a new engine, new chassis and new electronics.”

Performance Racing Powertrain

Triumph has developed an all-new performance racing powertrain, a competition four stroke single, that is ultra compact and super light. With a forged aluminium piston and titanium valves, the engine also has diamond-like carbon low friction coatings, lightweight magnesium covers and an Exedy Belleville clutch.

Advanced engine management and tunability is complemented by the optional accessory MX Tune Pro app, enabling riders to use real-time user selectable mapping, a real-time engine sensor dashboard and live diagnostic functionality, through a controlled programmable engine management system.

The unique aluminium chassis has a high strength, lightweight spine frame with twin cradles, designed for the optimum balance of performance, mass and flexibility. The total weight of the bike will see the new TF 250-X set a new benchmark for the best ‘power-to-weight’ ratio in the category. It also delivers a high level of tunability to suit different riders and styles.

Top Tier Specification

The TF 250-X features premium, top tier componentry throughout, adding up to an unrivalled specification for a production bike in this category. KYB suspension tops the list, with 48mm AOS coil forks, forged and machined 7075-T6 aluminium triple clamps and a three-way piggyback coil rear shock.

The premium Brembo braking system features twin 24mm piston floating front caliper, a single 26mm piston floating rear caliper and Galfer 260mm front and 220mm rear discs. DirtStar 7000 Series aluminium rims and machined aluminium hubs are fitted with Pirelli Scorpion MX32 mid-soft tyres. Pro-Taper ACF carbon core bars and ODI half-waffle lock on grips complete the set up.

The team has been supported by some of the biggest names in motocross, including the greatest MX rider of all time, Ricky Carmichael. He has worked with Triumph’s chassis and engine teams across the journey of scoping, prototyping, testing and development.

Ricky Carmichael said: “The TF 250-X is an incredible bike. This is the bike that we set out to build. When you talk about the chassis, the powertrain, the components – it’s the best of everything you could ever want. And whether you’re a professional rider or an amateur rider, you will not be disappointed. I love this bike, it’s been such an honour to part of a project with such an iconic brand.”

Underpinning the commitment to win, Team Manager Vincent Bereni, is leading a crew of highly experienced technical staff all focused on bringing Triumph to the pinnacle of racing performance. Thierry and Vincent’s past racing record speaks for itself – with over 80 MXGP World Championship victories.

Clément Desalle, who joined the team as test rider, is a very experienced racer, competing at the highest level in the MXGP World Championship for 15 years. As one of the most consistent racers in the series, he claimed three Vice Champion finishes, was third in the World Championship three times and twice finished fourth. They brought in a crack team including Dave Arnold, an industry AMA Hall of Fame legend for chassis development and Dudley Cramond, with over 25 years of experience of building race winning engines. The team will field the all-new TF 250-X’s in the 2024 World Championship.

Triumph Raises The Bar New Tiger 900 Range For 2024

Delivering more power, torque, capability and comfort, the new Tiger 900 range from Triumph Motorcycles is raising the bar for middleweight adventure bikes in 2024.  The new line-up includes the Tiger 900 GT, GT Pro and Rally Pro, each providing a significant step-up in performance and specification.

The Tiger 900’s trademark three-cylinder engine has received a major update, including revised engine components, which provides 13% more power than the previous generation, giving 108PS of peak power and a higher peak torque of 90Nm. The new engine also offers greater tractability lower in the rev range. With its T-plane crank and offset firing intervals, the Tiger 900 maintains its characterful and distinctive performance and sound, as well as achieving enhanced performance throughout the whole rev range and up to 9% better fuel economy.

All-new active safety features provide more capability across the range, including enhanced braking for better control and reduced stopping distances, and a new emergency deceleration warning system, which activates the hazard lights when braking rapidly and automatically deactivates when you pull away.

New marker lights provide a prominent silhouette especially at night and in poor visibility. The new range also features new 7” TFT instruments, with new graphics and menu system and a new USB-C cockpit charger, as well as My Triumph Bluetooth connectivity as standard on all models.

The new rider seat is flatter and roomier, with heated seats on both Pro models, designed specifically to provide more long-distance comfort. With 20mm adjustability on the seat height for all models, and an accessory heated low rider seat available which reduces the seat height by a further 20mm. This offers GT models with a potential seat height as low as 800mm, which combined with the narrow stand over width, improves accessibility.

A new damped handlebar mounting system creates a more comfortable ride, plus the enhanced handlebar position on the Rally Pro, with the bars 15mm closer, facilitates a more agile ride while sitting or standing.

Bringing even more Tiger attitude, the 2024 range has new bodywork across the beak, cockpit and side panels in an integrated design that gives each motorcycle an aggressive, adventure focused stance. New contemporary and dynamic paint schemes and graphics complete the look.

A new Akrapovič silencer heads up the comprehensive list of more than 50 accessories, plus customers can choose from four tailored accessory packs, the Performance, Protection, Trekker and Expedition kits.

The new range retains all of the Tiger 900’s class-leading specification:

MORE PERFORMANCE

Unique to Triumph, the T-plane crank engine with its 1,3,2 firing order and distinctive, raspy triple exhaust bark, has been further developed for the new Tiger 900 range.

Engine revisions have resulted in a power increase of 13% taking the Tiger 900 from 95PS to an impressive 108PS. This has been achieved while gaining more torque and tractability at low RPM. The increased power can be felt throughout the rev-range, with a more muscular mid-range and improved acceleration.

On the road the new Tiger 900 is agile and easy to ride at low speeds, but with plenty of performance for rapid bursts of acceleration and effortless high-speed touring. In more technical off-road situations, the fine throttle control is intuitive and confidence-inspiring.

Each model benefits from a specific suspension set-up, designed to meet the needs of the rider for each model.

The GT is fitted with high-quality Marzocchi™ suspension with adjustable compression and rebound damping. With 180mm of fork travel and 170mm of rear wheel travel, the set-up has been tuned specifically for the GT to deliver excellent road handling and long-ride comfort with the capability to tackle off-road terrain.

The GT Pro also uses Marzocchi™ suspension. Fully adjustable forks are matched to an electronically adjustable rear suspension unit — this allows for easy and convenient preload adjustments at the touch of a button to suit riders travelling solo, with a pillion or fully loaded.

The Rally Pro uses Showa™ suspension, offering riders full adjustability and a generous 240mm front and 230mm rear wheel travel. This high-quality progressive suspension set-up provides capability and versatility on all roads.

Complementing this specific suspension, the road-focused GT and GT Pro have lightweight cast alloy wheels, 19” at the front and 17” at the rear, for the perfect balance between road handling and off-road capability. The Rally Pro uses tubeless spoked wheels with a 21” front for pure off-road performance and features a broad tyre choice.

Best in class Brembo Stylema™ brake calipers are fitted to all three new Tiger 900 models, ensuring effective stopping power and a sensitive lever feel that helps to keep braking powerful, smooth and controlled.

Tiger 900 GT Pro

MORE CAPABILITY

The new Tiger 900 for 2024 features new active safety features to improve visibility on the road, including a new emergency deceleration warning system, which activates the hazard lights when braking rapidly and automatically deactivates when you pull away. In addition, new marker lights provide a prominent silhouette especially at night and in poor visibility.

Optimised cornering ABS and Traction Control comes as standard across all three Tiger 900 models. Together with the ride-by-wire throttle, the level of assistance can be altered with four different standard riding modes — Road, Rain, Sport and Off-Road.

The GT Pro has five modes with the additional Rider Programmable mode allowing fine tuning to suit the rider’s preferences and riding style. The Rally Pro has six modes with the extra Off-Road Pro mode disabling ABS and traction control completely to allow the Tiger 900 Rally Pro’s capability to be fully utilised off road.

The new enhanced braking system automatically balances front and rear braking effort, working in harmony with the optimised cornering ABS system, to improve stability under hard braking while significantly reducing stopping distances.

Triumph’s Slip and Assist clutch system is fitted to all three Tiger 900 models, giving light clutch lever action to reduce rider fatigue, especially for congested urban riding conditions and for technical off-road riding. This system also improves rear wheel control under rapid deceleration, assisting with smooth and assured corner entry on a range of surfaces.

The Pro models are also equipped with the Triumph Shift Assist system. This allows clutch-less gear changes both up and down the gearbox for seamless acceleration and super-smooth deceleration.

The My Triumph Connectivity System is now standard on all Tiger 900 models. Music, phone and turn by turn navigation can all be accessed via the new intuitive and easy-to-read 7” TFT display which is bonded to the glass for a crisp, non-reflective image. Heated grips and seats plus a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) are also standard on both Pro models.

Tiger 900 Rally Pro

MORE ALL-DAY COMFORT

The seat has been redesigned for enhanced long-distance comfort whilst retaining the ease of movement for the rider to find their perfect ergonomic position. All models feature 20mm of adjustability, as well as heated seats for both Pro models, for optimum comfort in all weathers.

A new damped handlebar mounting system creates a more comfortable ride, while the handlebar position on the Rally Pro has been moved back by 15mm. This slight reduction in reach improves seated comfort while also improving rider control and bike agility in the standing position when riding off-road.

Even the shape of the 20-litre fuel tank has been carefully considered to provide the perfect seated riding position without compromising control when standing. An adjustable screen with five settings spanning 50mm, ensures all riders can enjoy excellent high-speed wind protection.

Tiger 900 GT Pro

MORE ATTITUDE

The aggressive Tiger styling and distinctive adventure-focused stance has been revised and sharpened. The new bodywork now has a cleaner, more integrated design that flows beautifully from the beak, through the cockpit and into the side panels.

Three striking new paint schemes and graphics are available for each model. The GT and GT Pro are available in Snowdonia White as standard, with two premium paint options, Graphite and Sapphire Black, and Carnival Red and Sapphire Black. The Rally Pro is available in Carbon Black and Sapphire Black, with the option to upgrade to the striking Ash Grey and Intense Orange or Matt Khaki Green and Matt Phantom Black.

ACCESSORIES

Over 50 accessories and four accessory kits are available for the new Tiger 900 range.  The fully loaded Performance accessory pack includes a brand new Akrapovič silencer, the first of a number of new exhaust systems developed in partnership. With a lightweight titanium design with carbon end caps, the new silencer delivers a 1kg weight saving and an even better sound. The pack also includes front and rear scrolling indicators with new marker light feature, and billet machined adventure footpegs.

The Protection Pack showcases key practical accessories, lower and upper engine bar kits, tank pad, sump guard, fork protectors, radiator guard and for off-road, a headlight guard kit. The Trekker and Expedition packs provide two distinct, tailored luggage options for extended touring or off-road adventures.

Tiger 900 Rally Pro

ON THE ROAD

Triumph’s Chief Product Officer Steve Sargent said: “The Tiger 900 already has an excellent reputation as an award-winner and rally competitor, enjoying success against production motorcycles as well as purpose-built off-road machines. In fact, the Tiger 900 Rally Pro was used by World Enduro Champion Iván Cervantes, securing champion titles at the Baja Aragón Rally, 1000 Dunas Raid and Bassela Enduro in 2022.

“With such an impressive pedigree, we needed to set ourselves a high target to improve the new Tiger 900. We were focused on raising the game in the middleweight category all over again. As a result, we’ve delivered a significant step-up, with more performance, more capability, more all-day comfort, and an aggressive style and poise.”

The Tiger 900 GT will start from £12,195 OTR, the Tiger 900 GT Pro from £13,895 OTR and the Tiger 900 Rally Pro from £14,495 OTR. (Market to update)

Eight Triumph Bonneville Stealth Editions For 2024

The world will soon be seeing Triumph’s Bonnevilles in a new light, thanks to a dramatic new custom-style paint finish which makes its debut on eight Modern Classics in 2024.

Available for one year only, the new Stealth Editions are an exclusive collection of eight beautiful Bonnevilles. Each model features its own unique tank design, which showcases a dramatic hand-painted finish that intensifies in the light to reveal vivid colour.

The process starts with a base layer of mirror-finish metallic ‘Silver Ice’ being applied to each tank, followed by a precisely placed dark to light ‘Sapphire Black’ graphite vignette. Finally, a translucent tinted lacquer is applied in multiple layers, to build a deep and rich top coat.

The transition from dark tinted graphite to vibrant  colour, springs to life when exposed to light, varying in hue and tone under different conditions and appearing different from every angle.  The hand-painted finish ensures subtle variations, making every motorcycle truly unique.

EIGHT TRIUMPH BONNEVILLE STEALTH EDITIONS

The eight Triumph Stealth Editions include the Bonneville Speedmaster in red, the stripped-back Bobber in purple,  the T100 and T120 in a striking blue, the popular Speed Twin 1200 in red and the agile Speed Twin 900 in green, the Scrambler 900 in an eye-catching orange, and finally, the moody T120 Black features a sophisticated matt silver finish.

Bonneville Speedmaster Red Stealth Edition

A stunning and beautiful reimagination of Triumph’s British custom classic icon, the Stealth Edition has an intense new red design that amplifies the Speedmaster’s attitude and confidence in the sunlight.

The Speedmaster features high specification 47mm Showa cartridge forks, which combined with the preload adjustable hidden monoshock rear suspension unit, provide the rider with great manoeuvrability, comfort and control, with and without a pillion.

Bonneville T120 Black Stealth Edition

ICONIC CAFÉ RACER STYLING

The Thruxton’s inimitable café racer styling, with its contemporary blacked-out style that includes black powder-coated engine covers, cam cover finishes and premium anodised black wheel rims — with attention to detail that runs right the way through to the Öhlins rear suspension unit springs — has been taken to the next level for the Final Edition.

A TIMELINE OF THE ULTIMATE CAFÉ RACER
The winning Sixties
While its Bonneville roots can be traced back to the Fifties, the Thruxton was born as a limited-edition racer in 1964. An instant success in endurance races, the exclusive Thruxton aptly earning its biggest accolade by claiming all three podium places at the 1969 Thruxton 500-mile race. With success at the Isle of Man TT following shortly after, the Thruxton became the first production motorcycle to lap the Mountain Course at over 100mph. The Thruxton’s uncompromised racing style, handling and performance was a must for those protagonists of the traffic light Grand Prix, the world over.

The thoroughly modern Thruxton
In 2016 the first 1200cc Thruxton, the R, hit the showrooms, creating a new performance benchmark in this fast-growing category. Three years on, the Thruxton RS took the genre into new territories. Increased power, improved handling and a specification like no other ensured the 2019 Thruxton RS had peerless performance and the looks to match.

The final evolution
The absolute pinnacle of Thruxton development, celebrated with the exclusive and exquisite Final Edition. Hand-painted perfection, and available for just one last production run.

A Motorcycle myth confirmed – Elvis Presley and Triumph Motorcycles

Triumph Motorcycles has uncovered the truth behind a famous motorcycle myth – that Elvis Presley gave an extraordinary biker gift to every member of his Memphis Mafia in 1965.

With the discovery of the original cheques in the Graceland archives, signed by the man himself, as well as recollections from Jerry Shilling, Elvis’ close friend, it can be confirmed that Elvis bought nine Triumph motorcycles as gifts, so he and his closest friends could ride together in the hills of Los Angeles.

THE STORY

Elvis Presley is an enduring music legend and a cultural icon. The best-selling solo artist in history and a genuine movie star, making 31 films during his career in Hollywood. He was also a passionate biker, riding bikes in several of his films including a red and silver Triumph 650 Bonneville ‘Desert Sled’ in the 1968 comedy western “Stay Away Joe”.

But, Elvis’ introduction to Triumph motorcycles came several years earlier, with this story, which is as rock and roll as the man himself.

In June 1965, Elvis had been on the set of the musical ‘Frankie and Johnny’ at Samuel Goldwyn Studios, Hollywood.  Taking a break from filming, Elvis spent his down time with his closest friends, known as ‘The Memphis Mafia’ at his Bel Air home.

Jerry Schilling, Elvis’ friend and member of his famous ‘Memphis Mafia’, put a down payment on a new Triumph T120 650 Bonneville at Robertson & Sons on Santa Monica Boulevard. When he brought the bike home, Elvis asked to take it for a ride around the Bel Air neighbourhood. Jerry, of course, obliged and Elvis jumped on the bike. He was impressed, in fact when he returned, he told his transportation manager, Alan Fortis, to “order one for all the guys, but… it has to be tonight!”

Robertson & Sons managed to deliver seven Triumphs that night, a mixture of 650 TR6’s and the high-performance, twin-carburetted 650 T120’s.  They rode together around Bel Air, riding late into the evening, only stopping when neighbours called the police to complain.  The remaining bikes arrived two days later and the nine of them made sure they made the most of down time from filming, riding the Pacific Coast Highway together on Sundays.

Jerry Shilling, a close friend of Elvis recalls: “Elvis loved to ride and I knew that when he saw my new Bonneville he’d want to try it…and when he did, he wanted all the guys to have one so we could ride them together!”

THE 1964 TRIUMPH 650 TR6 AND BONNEVILLE T120

The bikes that Elvis bought are considered most likely to be 1964 models of Triumph’s game-changing performance roadster, the 650 TR6 and 650 Bonneville T120 – essentially the same bike with one or two carburettors and different states of tune. The ’64 Bonneville came in the sophisticated Gold and Alaskan White and the TR6 in the distinctive ‘Hifi Scarlet and Silver Sheen’ with gold pinstriping, black frame and forks.

Named after Triumph’s multiple land speed records at the Bonneville salt flats, the Bonneville T120 is recognised across the motorcycling world as a genuine design icon, responsible for establishing Triumph as number one in the 60s for performance, handling and style and the 1964 US-spec ‘Bonnie’, with its higher bars is considered a classic.

HELP FIND THE MEMPHIS MAFIA TRIUMPHS

All nine of the original bikes are currently lost to time, with no formal record of where they went after the summer of ’65. Triumph is now launching an appeal to fans around the world to help track down or uncover the fate of these bikes.

Triumph’s researchers are keen to hear from anyone who has a lead on what happened to one of these bikes, or perhaps a last known location.

With the collective eyes of the Triumph and Elvis communities on the look-out, it is hoped that one of these historic bikes will one day come to light and make history by being placed on display alongside other historic Triumphs.

If you have any information related to the whereabouts of one of these historic bikes, please contact Triumph at elvistriumph@triumphmotorcycles.com.

A ONE-OF-A-KIND ‘ELVIS PRESLEY’ CUSTOM TRIUMPH MOTORCYCLE AND MATCHING GIBSON LES PAUL GUITAR

The discovery of this great story has filled in a gap in the history books and added a new, previously untold chapter to Triumph’s own story. In celebration of this newly uncovered shared history between two iconic and enduring brands, Triumph and Elvis Presley Enterprises have commissioned a one-of-a-kind custom motorcycle to raise money for a very worthy cause.

This custom Bonneville, based on a brand-new T120 model, features a custom design scheme by award-winning Georgian custom artist J Daar and is inspired by the 1964 Memphis Mafia bikes and 1968 Stay Away Joe Desert Sled, as well as being influenced by Elvis’ most iconic 1968 Comeback Special look. The design features gold block lettering, representing Elvis’ name written in lights, as well as silhouettes on a red background, echoing the set design of his most famous ’68 Comeback Special performance.

The bike was unveiled by Triumph USA Marketing Director, Adam VanderVeen, at the 2023 Barber vintage motorcycle Festival in Birmingham Alabama, where it was on display on the ‘Isle of Triumph’ alongside a host of historic Triumph motorcycles. These included an original 1964 Bonneville T120 in the same gold colour scheme as several of the bikes purchased by Elvis, which was entered into the VAHNA Motorcycle Show by owner Laura Langham.

Speaking at the show, custom motorcycle artist J Daar said: “I was honoured to pull the sheet off this amazing motorcycle. Tribute bikes are always special, but an homage to The King is one of the coolest projects I’ve worked on. This bike is something the new owner can be incredibly proud to have in their garage. Not only is it a unique design celebrating a great story, but it’s also a great way to raise money for such a worthy cause.”

Also on display at Barber Fest was a Les Paul guitar with a temporary custom wrap designed to complement the one-off Bonneville T120. The Les Paul, donated by Gibson, will also be painted by artist J Daar and is to be auctioned along with the motorcycle. The choice of guitar was inspired by another instance of Elvis’ generosity; when rehearsing for the ’68 Comeback Special, Elvis played a Les Paul, which he then gifted to his chef. The design adopts the same red, silver and gold scheme as the motorcycle, as well as the prominent Elvis graphic featured on the fuel tank and side panels, and incorporates silhouettes of The King around the body, inspired by his iconic ‘’68 Comeback Special’ look.

Beth Heidt, Chief Marketing Officer for Gibson commented:  “We have had the honour of working in partnership with the Elvis team to celebrate his legacy over many years, so when we heard that our friends at Graceland and Triumph were working together on a custom motorcycle to raise awareness and funds for a good cause, we wanted to join in honouring Elvis’ spirit of generosity – and similar to what we did with our ’59 Legends Collection in support of The 2022 Distinguished Gentlemen’s Ride, this customized Gibson Les Paul model pairs perfectly with the amazing design scheme of the bike.”

“We are excited to be partnering with an iconic brand like Triumph to bring this one-of-a-kind custom Bonneville T120 to life while benefitting one of Elvis’ favorite charities, Goodwill Homes Community Services in Memphis,” says Dana Carpenter, Executive Vice President, Entertainment at Authentic Brands Group, owner of Elvis Presley Enterprises. “The added generosity of our friends at Gibson for contributing a matching custom Les Paul guitar, strengthens the legacy of generosity and community that Elvis Presley stood for.”

This custom Bonneville T120 motorcycle and matching Gibson Les Paul guitar have been donated to the Elvis Presley Charitable Foundation to raise money for one of Elvis’ favourite charities, Goodwill Homes, a Memphis facility that provides counselling and services for abused children and their families.

More details about the auction will be available soon at Graceland.com

Triumph Motorcycles Extends Partnership With Moto2 Until 2029

To build on the success so far, and to further improve the performance and capability of the engine, Triumph will develop a full new race gearbox, which will make its debut in the 2025 season. Some improvements are already underway, with the engineering team testing parts after use in this year’s Moto2TM rounds in order to make improvements in gear selection for the 2024 season.”

Steve Sargent, Chief Product Officer, Triumph Motorcycles said: “Moto2TM continues to be an excellent platform to showcase the performance and capability of our 765 triple engines, driving demand for our new Street Triple 765 range. Over the last five years, we’ve used the race engine programme to drive enhancements to the 765 engine, and gain insights and learnings that we’ve used to further develop and evolve our Street Triple 765 range. Our reputation for bulletproof durability, reliability and class-leading performance has grown, which in turn, drives our global sales.

“Just as the Moto2TM teams make every lap count, our engineers have used every opportunity to enhance every dimension of the engine performance, from speed, power and torque, to revs, cylinder pressure and compression ratio. This has enabled us to deliver improvements on track each season, achieving shorter race times, faster top speeds and lap times, more winners and closer racing.

We’re really happy with the way the partnership is evolving as well, with more innovation and development still to come, and we’re looking forward to five more exciting years together.”

Triumph Collaborate With Steve McQueen And Michael Kalish

Triumph collaborate with Steve McQueen and Michael Kalish to release limited edition digital collectibles.

A portrait befitting a legend
In 2022, acclaimed artist Michael Kalish created a 25’ x 25’ original portrait of Steve McQueen. Steve McQueen had an intense passion for riding motorcycles, and had an enviable garage including many Triumph motorcycles such a ’63 Bonneville which McQueen converted into a Desert Sled. This iconic bike was the inspiration for the bike used by Kalish, a 2022 Triumph Bonneville T100 in Jet Black.

Chase McQueen, Steve’s grandson, also has racing in his veins and agreed to ride the Bonneville on his most difficult surface yet, a giant canvas covered in wet paint.

Gallons of white, light blue and yellow paint were spread and distributed by Chase riding the T100. After hours of application, the canvas was perfectly coated in the blend of colors complete with tire treads ready for Kalish to peel back layers of previously masked and scored sections of canvas to reveal an instantly recognizable and stunning portrait of Steve McQueen.

Boundary Breaking Legacy in a Modern NFT Medium
The McQueen family, along with Kalish and Triumph Motorcycles then created a similarly artistic tribute in the form of a set of generative Web3 digital collectibles. Verified Labs helped deliver this boundary breaking collection of digital art – 1,000 unique generative, interactive, and fully 3D 360-degree NFT’s, the first of its kind ever released on the ThetaDrop platform, all at an accessible initial price point of $99 USD.

Web3 animation studio, Immersive Enterprise Laboratories (IEL), designed a three-dimensional virtual garage where owners will discover a Triumph Bonneville T100 motorcycle, rider, and digital recreation of the original Kalish portrait of Steve McQueen. IEL used Unreal Engine to build the garage and each of the elements within, making the collection truly 3D from 360 degrees, which can be viewed within virtual reality headsets or proudly showcased in spatial reality displays via a FBX file.

Upon interacting with the T100 sitting on a pool of paint in the center of the garage, the NFT’s owner can trigger an animation which sees the bike’s rider start the engine, put the motorcycle in gear, and do a burnout, spraying paint against the wall of the garage revealing a portrait of Steve McQueen just like the real-life Kalish original.

1,000 Unique Digital Collectibles
To make each of the 1,000 unique, IEL used a generative process to assign color variations on a handful of elements within the garage, making no two NFTs from the collection the same. Elements that change range from the bike paint scheme or a splatter effect on it, to the color of the rider’s Triumph Bradden Air Jacket and color of the McQueen portrait. The combinations of color variants make certain NFTs from the collection more or less rare, depending on how many in the collection share attributes for each of the elements.

EASY TO ACQUIRE AND INCENTIVES FOR COLLECTORS
To ensure that any interested fan around the world could secure their very own “King of Cool Racing Team” digital collectible, the user friendly ThetaDrop was selected as the marketplace for the initial drop meaning no cryptocurrency is required making it easier for first time NFT buyers to get involved.

To support the long-term value proposition, the collection will be limited to only 1,000 unique versions of the NFT. Also, to incentivize trading of the collectible, which supports an increase in value for owners, there will be a trio of challenges with high-value prizes attached to each challenge.

The Ultimate Collectible
For only the most enthusiastic fan, there will be the most rare version of the “King of Cool Racing Team” collectibles paired with the actual 2022 Triumph Bonneville T100 with original splatter paint design which was ridden by Chase McQueen to create the original large format Michael Kalish portrait of Steve McQueen available for auction.

This ultimate collectible combination will be auctioned for a two-week period on ThetaDrop. The starting bid for this priceless one of one Michael Kalish painted motorcycle ridden by Chase McQueen paired with the most rare “King of Cool Racing Team” will be $15,000 USD. The pair will be awarded to the highest bidder of the virtual open auction at the end of the two-week period.

PARTNER QUOTES

Michael Kalish – Acclaimed Artist
“Over my 30 year career creating art and sculpture, I have always been inspired by and used materials directly related to Americana. Shortly after getting out of Art School, I traveled across the US to get inspiration and pick vintage materials for my work. Having the opportunity to partner with the Steve McQueen family has been a perfect intersection of my passions as an artist and who Steve McQueen was to all of us on the big screen. There is so much overlap of our love of cars, motorcycles, family, American Iconic objects, and moments. What an honor this has been!”

Adam VanderVeen – Marketing Director, Triumph Motorcycles America

“We’re proud that the original King of Cool made Triumph his motorcycle of choice and given our shared history with the iconic racer and actor, we couldn’t be happier with Michael’s vision to include a Triumph in his creative artistic tribute to Steve McQueen. After seeing the final portrait, it was an obvious choice to work with Michael and the McQueen family to make the tribute piece available to Steve’s fans and I’m very happy we came up with a way to sharing it that lived up to our shared values.”

McQueen Family
“Triumph has held a special place in the hearts of our family for generations; we’ve experienced countless memorable rides on their iconic motorcycles. The chance to collaborate with Triumph and the exceptional artist Michael Kalish on this exclusive release brings us immeasurable joy. The result of one of the most ambitious projects in Triumph’s history, the all-new Tiger 1200 line-up represents a transformation in weight, performance and capability, all focused on delivering every advantage a rider is looking for in their adventure motorcycle.

Building on the previous generation’s strengths, including its practical shaft drive set-up and its great long-distance comfort, plus the triple engine platform which suits touring so well, the new Tiger line-up introduces a new generation of T-plane triple engine, lightweight chassis and advanced technology – all focused on delivering the most agile and capable large capacity adventure
motorcycle you can buy.

GT Pro

ALL-NEW TIGER 1200 FAMILY
With all-new names to reflect the new capability, each Tiger 1200 model is now more tailored and focused to suit the adventures that different riders want.

The new road-focused GT and higher spec GT Pro come with cast wheels, 19” on the front and 18” on the rear, plus all-new Showa semi-active suspension, tuned to deliver the ultimate road-focused adventure ride.

With the new Rally Pro, this brings for the first time a dedicated 21” front and 18” rear tubeless wire-spoked wheel set-up, plus the new Showa semi-active suspension with even longer travel, tuned to deliver the ultimate in all-terrain riding, off-road and on.

Completing the new 5 bike line-up, for the first time Triumph introduces two new 30 litre tank Tigers, with the new Rally Explorer and the GT Explorer – the only cast wheel, 30 litre tank, adventure bike in the class. Both featuring the new Triumph Blind Spot Radar system, these bikes are built to travel the world in comfort and style, with the highest level of specification and capability ever.

Rally Explorer

ALL-NEW T-PLANE TRIPLE ENGINE
Designed to deliver all the advantages that have made the Triumph Tiger 900 so successful in the middleweight category, the new the T-plane triple crank brings the best of both worlds, with the low down tractability of a twin at the bottom end, making it great off road, combined with the performance benefits of a triple at the top end, which makes the Tiger even better on the road where riders spend most of their time.  Technically, the T-plane crank gives the new Tiger 1200 engine firing pulses at 180, 270 and 270 degrees, resulting in one short gap and two long gaps between the firing, delivering improved character and tractability at low rpm.

The new 1160cc engine brings a major step up in performance with 150PS peak power at 9,000rpm, 9PS up on the previous generation, making it the most powerful shaft drive motorcycle in the class. The torque is also significantly higher than the previous generation, with 130Nm of peak torque at 7,000rpm, 8Nm up on the previous engine.

In addition to the step-up in power and torque, the new engine, tune and T-plane triple crank also bring improved acceleration and a much more responsive and exciting character, where the uneven firing interval gives excellent feel and tractability at the bottom end, combined with the really strong triple power and torque delivery all the way through the rev range. Completing the transformation, every Tiger features the new lightweight low-maintenance shaft drive, a key practical advantage valued by adventure touring riders.

Compared to the previous generation engine, absolutely everything is new, including new bore and stroke, crank, cylinder head, gearbox and clutch, and a completely new shaft drive and bevel box. Overall, every single component has been designed to be significantly lighter and more compact, which has allowed the new engine to have a much tighter overall package, transforming the riding dynamics.

Add to that the new minimal lightweight silencer, and the result is a significantly enhanced soundtrack, with a new distinctive triple tone and bark.

Rally Pro

THE NEW BENCHMARK FOR HANDLING
The Tiger 1200 has been designed to set the new benchmark for road and off-road adventure handling, courtesy of a major reduction in weight, an all-new lightweight chassis, a class-leading specification of equipment and all-new rider ergonomics.

Following an extensive mass optimisation programme across the whole bike, encompassing every component, the new generation is now more than 25kg lighter than the previous Tiger, and up to 17kg lighter than the closest shaft drive competition, based on a comparable specification of motorcycle.

Pro Family

For this new generation, each Tiger 1200 family now comes equipped with dedicated wheel dimensions, tailored to suit the adventures that different riders want. On the Rally Pro and Rally Explorer, there is a 21”/18” tubeless spoked set-up for incredible all-road ability, and on the GT, GT Pro and GT Explorer there is 19”/18” cast aluminium arrangement for more dynamic road riding ability. Ensuring outstanding grip and stability, Metzeler Tourance™ tyres are fitted to all of the GT models, while the Rally models feature Metzeler Karoo Street™ tyres for true all-terrain riding. For advanced off-road riding, the Michelin Anakee Wild is the handbook approved option.

Class-leading Brembo Stylema® brakes are fitted to all Tiger 1200 models for powerful and progressive performance. These have been selected to meet the demands of long distance road riding and the advanced off-road adventure capability of the Rally models.

The incredible stopping power provided by the Brembo calipers is managed by the advanced Optimised Cornering ABS system fitted to all of the new models, which is supported by a sophisticated IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit), which continuously measures the motorcycle’s movement (pitch rate, yaw rate, roll rate, vertical acceleration, lateral acceleration, longitudinal acceleration) to calculate the lean angle of the bike and deliver the optimum level of ABS intervention. Magura HC-1 levers, adjustable for reach, deliver a progressive feel and further enhance rider comfort and control.

Making a significant contribution to the transformation in weight and handling capability, the Tiger’s new frame, which is 5.4kg lighter than the previous design, features a bolt-on aluminium rear sub-frame and bolt-on pillion hangers, enhancements developed from customer feedback.

GT Explorer

Additional weight savings comes from the new aluminium fuel tank and all-new tri-link swingarm, which is 1.5kg lighter and stronger than the previous single-sided set-up, and incorporates a smaller and lighter shaft drive and bevel box.

Bringing the rider enhanced confidence at low speeds and during non-riding manoeuvres, as well as enhanced comfort and control, all of the new 1200s come with new seat and tank ergonomics, where the seat has been slimmed down at the front, where it meets the tank. To further enable each rider to find their comfort zone, all models feature a built-in easily adjustable two-position seat mechanism which enables the rider to change the seat height by 20mm to their preferred set-up.

For the GT, GT Pro and GT Explorer there are two seat height settings – 850mm and 870mm, while for the Rally Pro and Rally Explorer these are 875mm and 895mm. Through the accessory-fit low seat option, customers will also be able to lower the seat position by an additional 20mm.

A further enhancement to comfort is provided by the new easily adjustable screen, with a simple one-handed adjustment mechanism, plus new aero screen diffusers that deflect the wind off both the rider and pillion.

The handlebar position has been optimised to suit each model in the Tiger 1200 range, contributing to the bike’s improved agility and ensuring great rider comfort. These are 20mm wider than the previous generation for improved off-road control. On the GT Explorer and Rally Explorer, the handlebars are 16mm higher than the other models in the line-up to deliver an even more commanding position. The foot peg positions have also been refined to deliver the optimum rider comfort and control for each model.

All models within the Tiger 1200 line-up have an extensive level of protection for a more secure and comfortable ride: handguards are standard for all models, aluminium skid-guard is fitted as standard on the GT Pro and GT Explorer, while an aluminium sump guard is a standard fit for the Rally Pro and Rally Explorer. Additional protection is provided on the GT Explorer and both Rally variants by the engine protection bars, while the Rally Explorer also comes with fuel tank protection bars. These items can all be added as accessories to the models where they are not standard fit.

COMPREHENSIVE TECHNOLOGY PACKAGE
The new generation sets a new standard for Tiger technology, with the introduction of a host of advanced features designed to enhance the ride and deliver a step up in safety, comfort and control.

The GT Explorer and Rally Explorer exclusively feature the all-new Triumph Blind Spot Radar system, developed in partnership with Continental, which delivers two key safety features. Blind Spot Assist uses a rear facing radar to let the rider know when another vehicle is in their blind spot, and Lane Change Assist, which gives a more prominent warning if the rider indicates to change lane and there is a vehicle approaching.

Optimised Cornering Traction Control comes as standard on all of the new line-up, which is supported by the bike’s advanced IMU to deliver the optimum traction control response for the riding conditions.

All of the key information the rider needs is presented through the new class-leading 7” TFT instruments with an optically bonded display, which features a new graphics package. The My Triumph Connectivity System is also fitted as standard on all models, enabling phone calls, turn-by-turn navigation and GoPro control.

Depending on the model, there are up to 6 riding modes available, which adjust throttle response, ABS, traction control and suspension settings for maximum rider control in all riding conditions. The Off-Road Pro riding mode, exclusive to the Rally Pro and Rally Explorer models, is Triumph’s most extreme off-road set-up for advanced off-road adventure, with ABS and traction control turned off, and an off-road throttle map. Rain mode has been tailored to deliver the most intervention and is limited to 100PS for enhanced safety and control when conditions are compromised.

Great visibility in any riding condition is ensured by the new full LED headlight with a distinctive new signature Daytime Running Light (DRL). Additional visibility and illumination whilst cornering is provided by the lean-sensitive new Adaptive Cornering Lights, which come as standard on all models except the Tiger 1200 GT.

Triumph Shift Assist comes as a standard fit feature on all models, except the Tiger 1200 GT where it is available as an accessory upgrade. Triumph Shift Assist enables easy up and down gear-shifting without needing to action the clutch. Hill Hold is standard on all models except the Tiger 1200 GT. Hill Hold prevents the bike from rolling backwards when setting off on a steep incline, applying the rear brake until sensing the rider is starting to move off.

For enhanced long distance riding comfort in every weather condition, all models except the Tiger 1200 GT come with heated grips as standard, plus the GT Explorer and Rally Explorer also come with heated rider and pillion seats, and also a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System to ensure the highest possible level of rider safety. For all other models, heated seats and TPMS can be added as an accessory option.

Completing the new Tiger’s comprehensive technology package, all of the new models come with a host of additional features designed to enhance the ride, including intuitive and easily accessible switch cubes with unique-in-segment 5-way joystick control, plus illuminated switches and under seat storage with USB charger. Adjustable electronic cruise control and a centre stand also come as standard on all models except the Tiger GT.

DISTINCTIVE NEW TIGER STYLE
Following a brief for styling that was just as ambitious as the handling and performance updates, the new Tiger 1200 line-up delivers a distinctive new look with a more upright, commanding stance enhanced by the new redesigned minimal bodywork, clean contemporary lines and a visually lighter front end.

Each model family has been designed with a more focused look, with the GT family delivering even more road biased style, whilst the Rally family brings even more off-road attitude and stance, courtesy of the new 21’’ front wheel set-up.

The new generation also features a much slimmer waist and more compact design with narrower stand over, which not only makes it easier to get your feet on the floor, but also makes it easier to move around on while riding.

Historic Discovery of 1901 Prototype Triumph

Following the recent announcement of their plans to celebrate next year’s 120th anniversary of the most iconic British motorcycle brand and the production of the millionth Hinckley Triumph produced, Triumph announce the landmark discovery of the very first Triumph prototype ever built.

The 1901 Prototype
An amazing historic find, discovered and restored by leading vintage Triumph collector Dick Shepherd, the 1901 Prototype rewrites the history books, adding a whole new chapter prior to Triumph’s official sales starting in 1902. Long rumoured to exist and referenced within advertising and reviews that appeared in 1901, this first Triumph prototype was developed from a standard Triumph bicycle, with an engine provided by Belgian manufacturer Minerva, in order to generate interest and gauge the public’s demand for a Triumph motorcycle.

Dick Shepherd said “Having been approached by a friend of a collector, who had sadly recently passed away, to evaluate an old Triumph I was incredibly excited to discover that the bike they had featured unique details that were not present on the first production Triumphs. Along with the bike, the collector had also received a letter from Triumph, dated in 1937, that outlined the bike’s unique origins and provided key details.”

“With an engine number that is consistent with references in Minerva’s engine records of a 1901 first Triumph engagement the historic significance of this motorcycle became incredibly clear.”

“As a lifelong passionate fan of the history and achievements of this incredible British brand, to have discovered this amazing survivor and restored it to the glorious condition it would have been in when it first went on display in 1901, has given me an immense amount of satisfaction.”

First unveiled at the UK’s Motorcycle Live show the 1901 prototype will feature in dedicated event at Triumph’s Factory Visitor Experience on the 22nd January, where the machine will be ridden in public for the very first time in over 100 years.

This incredible, historic motorcycle will then be on display, alongside the millionth Hinckley Triumph, in a new, specially created 120-year anniversary display, hosted within Triumph’s Factory Visitor Experience.

The Triumph Factory Visitor Experience is free to visit and is located at Triumph’s HQ in Hinckley, England and is open daily Wednesday through Sunday, from 10am – 4.30pm.

One Millionth Hinckley Triumph Kicks Of Brand’s 120-Year Anniversary Plans

Hand in hand with the announcement of plans to celebrate next year’s 120th anniversary of the most iconic British motorcycle brand in the world, Triumph unveils the landmark millionth Hinckley Triumph produced.

The Millionth Triumph of The Modern Era
Triumph has reached a historic milestone in its modern era with the reveal of the millionth motorcycle built since the brand’s return in 1990.  Unveiled at Triumph’s Global Headquarters in Hinckley by Nick Bloor, CEO, in front of the UK team, the millionth Triumph is a one-off custom painted model of Triumph’s incredibly successful Tiger 900 Rally Pro.

Launched in 2019 the Tiger 900 Rally Pro provides a perfect demonstration of Triumph’s world leading design, engineering and production capability, courtesy of its class defining character, capability, quality and attention to detail – attributes shared by all of Triumph’s modern line-up

With its sophisticated custom Silver paint scheme and one millionth graphics this very special milestone motorcycle will be displayed on Triumph’s stand at this year’s Motorcycle Live show at the NEC and then on show in Triumph’s Factory Visitor Experience* in a new, specially created 120-year anniversary display.

‘’Everyone at Triumph is incredibly proud to have played a part in achieving such a momentous moment in the modern history of this iconic brand. Over the 31 years since we re-launched Triumph with a new line of British designed motorcycles in Cologne in 1990, we have shared so many great moments with our fans across the world. From returning to the TT champions arena, to entering the MotoGP paddock with our Moto2 Engine partnership to supporting the biggest global riding event and its great cause for health and wellbeing with the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride, to mention only a few.  Triumph’s success has always stemmed from the passion and commitment we share with our riders.’’

‘’Whilst the last year has been challenging for all of us, this passion and commitment has driven Triumph to even greater heights, including the successful entry into new categories with the Trident 660 and Tiger Sport 660.”

“Over the last three decades Triumph has maintained sustained and significant investment in our people, our partners and our in-house design, engineering and manufacturing capabilities, in order to grow the reach and reputation of this iconic British brand. This investment in home grown talent, both in the UK and around the world, matched by the passion we share with our riders for delivering the complete and perfect motorcycle, has seen the brand go from strength to strength, achieving the most successful year in the brand’s entire 120-year history.’’

‘’Furthermore, we are committed to taking the brand to even greater heights, and with the forthcoming launch of our brand new Tiger 1200, new competition MX and Enduro motorcycles, plus our strategic partnership with Bajaj to create smaller capacity bikes, I am delighted to say that the future for Triumph and its fans across the world will be just as exciting and rich as the last 30 years has been,’’ Nick Bloor Triumph CEO.

Celebrating 120 Years of the Most Successful British Motorcycle Brand
Encompassing millions of passionate fans who share the same obsession for motorcycling Triumph announce their plans to celebrate in 2022 the landmark 120-year anniversary of this iconic British motorcycle brand.

The very first production Triumph motorcycle went on sale to the public in April 1902, starting one of the world’s richest and most exciting brand stories; a story that has gone on to encompass countless legendary motorcycles, and playing a significant role in shaping the motorcycle world we enjoy today.

Triumph’s modern era began in 1990 with a completely original range of motorcycles designed and built in a brand new, state-of-the-art factory at Hinckley.

In the three decades since, Triumph has built and sold more motorcycles than at any previous time in its history through an international network of more than 700 dealers in 57 countries.

And despite recent challenges, the passion for Triumph shared around the world by owners, riders, fans and dealers has made the last 12 months the most successful ever, with more than 75,000 bikes registered globally and a turnover of £650 million.

Triumph represents the very pinnacle of Great British design and engineering, with a line-up of world-beating bikes spanning multiple genres from adventure to roadsters to modern classics, each delivering Triumph’s renowned reputation for class-leading handling, finish and detailing and original, authentic design.

Today Triumph operates across five manufacturing facilities, all managed and led by the global headquarters in Hinckley, Leicestershire, where every Triumph is conceived, prototyped and tested in Triumph’s centre of design excellence by our in-house team.  The most recent addition to Hinckley’s impressive infrastructure is an all-new UK assembly plant, built to enhance Triumph’s global manufacturing flexibility and complement the existing multi-million-pound paint shop and rapid prototyping facilities.

A truly global operation Triumph has 13 sales and marketing offices around the world, manufacturing and production facilities located in Thailand, where the company has its own casting, injection-moulding, machining and assembly facilities, and plants in India and Brazil, which assemble bikes destined for local markets.

Triumph’s Factory Visitor Experience* at Hinckley, opened in 2018, invites visitors to get a taste of Triumph’s manufacturing expertise as well as showcasing the most important collection of motorcycles from the iconic British firm’s past and present.

From January 2022 Triumph will invite fans from all over the world to join the factory in celebrating the pure spirit of motorcycling, in a series of stories, meet-ups and special events throughout the year.  Keep an eye out for more details to come in the new year.

*The Triumph Factory Visitor Experience is free to visit and is located at Triumph’s HQ in Hinckley, England and is open daily Wednesday through Sunday, from 10am – 4.30pm.

Triumph Bonneville Bobber Review

Can you fall in love with an inanimate object? some say you can. As soon as I set eyes on the Triumph Bonneville Bobber it was love at first sight, it even came in my favourite cherry red.

Few two-wheelers have the honor of being as cool & iconic as the Bonneville Bobber. The Bonneville has enjoyed a sacred reputation amongst the enthusiasts; however, the latest upgrades have made it considerably more attractive. It exudes a retro cruiser charm whilst fulfilling all the modern-day standards including but not limited to the emissions standards. As with any other Triumph two-wheeler, the Bonneville Bobber also boasts an impeccable built quality that is visible from afar. The all-new 1200cc British icon infuses a breath of fresh air into a motorbike industry that is fast running out of classic-era machines, leaving the enthusiasts with little choices to quench their thirst.

As an avid fan of retro-inspired motorbikes, I was eager to try the latest iteration of the Bonneville Bobber. The previous version has still got quite a respectable space in my heart for the authenticity and the riding pleasure it provides, however, it lacks some of the modern amenities which many of the riders have now got accustomed to. The 2021 version retains the instantly recognizable charisma of the Bobber lineup all the while featuring subtle changes that are quite apparent but they, in no way, diminish the charm a Bonneville Bobber is known for. The front & rear fenders are still absent and the ignition switch, to this date, is mounted beneath the fuel tank of the bike. All this means that only the crucial creature comforts have been included in the new version. In fact, the minimalist DNA of the Bobber lineup still continues here with the rider seat being the sole seat available and a bulging engine & exhaust pipes that are purposefully exposed to execute a typical cruiser personality.

Despite the minimalist theme going all around the bike, the Bobber still has a wet weight of nearly 250kg which is not light by any stretch of the imagination. Nonetheless, the riding dynamics have been designed as such to maximize the riding pleasure and ease of riding around town. The planted riding experience is also helped in part by the purpose-built chubby front & rear wheels that are accompanied by the Showa folks and spoke rims. The spoke rims look phenomenal especially in contrast with the color schematics of the Bonneville Black which I had the pleasure of riding for a brief moment. The ergonomics have been well organized since the neutral riding stance and easy-to-reach & adjustable controls make the motorbike a sheer pleasure to drive. The seat only looks a bit uncomfortable from a distance, but its aluminum construction leaves plenty of room for padding. Behind the seat is a nicely hidden mono-shock that works like a charm on paved & slightly uneven surfaces.

As mentioned earlier, a host of modern amenities have been integrated that are complemented by LED lights all around the bike. The amenities themselves include cruise control, traction control, ride-by-wire throttle, dual-channel ABS, though, the front calipers are Brembo and the rear one is Nisin. Nevertheless, the whole brake package is potent enough to provide plenty of stopping power even on damp surfaces. The 1200cc powerplant is a twin-parallel setup that churns out 77 hp and approximately 106Nm of peak torque. Since the peak torque is available at a lower RPM band, therefore, the Bonneville Bobber is quite capable for city rides and short commutes. Conversely, long rides can feel a bit underwhelming since the 250 kg weight in conjunction with high wind resistance really makes the bike struggle to move ahead. Other than that, the riding experience, as a whole, is quite comfortable and enjoyable.

A major part of extensive improvements for the new Bobber includes a bigger fuel tank, improved fuel economy figures & better compliance to modern emission standards. The fuel tank has been enlarged to accommodate 12L of fuel which is a 25% improvement over its predecessor. This, combined with a claimed fuel average of 61mpg (4.6L/100km) makes the new model cover more miles without having you make a stopover at a nearby fuel station. Though, the improvements in the emissions department may not be to everyone’s liking. The Bobber may now be compliant with Euro-5 emissions standards, but its exhaust note isn’t as deep and loud as the previous version. Nevertheless, it is a commendable feat by Triumph since the air-fuel mixture is still fed by a carburetor.

To sum it all up, Triumph has done an excellent job with the all-new Bonneville Bobber. It retains all the essential hallmarks of its predecessor and also the top-notch built quality that is synonymous with all the offerings by Triumph. The price may seem a bit steep to some, but you will only realize its true worth when you take a personal look and test drive.

This bike to an old sport bike lover like myself is gorgeous through spending a fair bit of time on Triumphs recently my taste is changing from speed to a more comfortable ride. Ii I had the money I would be the first in the queue to purchase one.

The original Thruxton played a major part in the birth of motorcycle motorsport, as far back as the late 1950’s when the racing Bonneville first took victory at the legendary Thruxton 500 race series, from which it took its name, courtesy of British racing legend, Mike Hailwood. And from then onwards, the Thruxton was a dominating force – race winner and record breaker – with years of success spanning the 1960s.

By 1969, the Thruxton had won the Isle of Man TT, with Malcolm Uphill cracking the 100mph production lap for the very first time. And on the road, thanks to its twin-powered performance, it had also become the bike of choice, inspiring a generation of teenage racers – a now-iconic subculture centred around British café racer motorcycles and Rock n’ Roll music – the “Ton Up Boys”.

Driven by the common goal of doing “the ton” – riding 100mph – the café racers of the day would modify their motorcycles to maximise speed and handling by stripping them down to the bare minimum.

And now, honouring that passion, racing heritage and iconic style, the new Thruxton RS Ton Up Edition celebrates the legendary period in Britain’s motorcycling scene with a unique new classically-inspired scheme, available for one year only.

Unique Ton Up Edition paint scheme and premium custom detailing
Perfectly accentuating the Thruxton’s iconic café racer DNA and timeless silhouette, the new Ton Up Edition design scheme incorporates a stunning and unique Aegean Blue fuel tank with Jet Black knee pad graphics, edged with hand-painted silver coach lining. This is paired with a Fusion White seat cowl and front mudguard, both of which feature unique new Carnival Red “100” graphics. The seat cowl also features additional hand-painted coach lining in black.

The side panels, featuring the new Thruxton RS Ton Up logo, are painted in Jet Black, as are the headlight bowl and rear mudguard. Other premium custom-inspired details include Matt Aluminium Silver fork protectors and blacked-out wheels, engine covers and RSU springs.

The Ton Up Edition also features all the hallmarks of the distinctive Thruxton RS, including unique Monza-style fuel filler cap, twin brushed stainless steel upswept silencers, single bullet seat and black bar-end mirrors.

Riders can also enhance their Thruxton RS Ton Up Edition with the accessory cockpit fairing that now comes in a matching Aegean Blue.

High performance Thruxton RS engine
The Thruxton RS Ton Up Edition is powered by the responsive and characterful Bonneville 1200cc twin engine, delivering 105 PS peak power at 7,500 rpm and 112 Nm peak torque at a low 4,250 rpm. Fully Euro 5 compliant, the Thruxton RS engine is optimised for high-performance, low emissions and enhanced fuel efficiency.

The sporty twin reverse cone megaphone silencers deliver the Thruxton’s hair-raising, rich and deep sound, that absolutely lives up to its legendary name.

High-specification equipment for dynamic and engaging handling
The Thruxton RS Ton Up Edition features a light and agile chassis, with a sporty riding position and a high specification to match. This includes its race-bred fully adjustable Showa 43mm upside down pig piston forks and fully adjustable Öhlins twin rear shocks with piggyback reservoir, offering a great riding feel, comfort and exceptional handling.

High-specification brakes ensure the Thruxton RS delivers outstanding stopping power, with twin 310mm Brembo floating front brake discs with Brembo M50 radial monobloc calipers, and a Nissin two-piston floating caliper on the rear.

Metzler Racetec RR tyres are fitted as standard, offering enhanced grip for sporty road riding as well as track day fun.

The combination of thrilling 1200cc engine, with high-specification dynamic chassis and premium standard equipment, alongside the focused and sporty riding ergonomics with low 810mm seat height, make the Thruxton RS an agile and engaged ride.

Ride-enhancing technology fitted as standard
The Thruxton RS Ton Up Edition is equipped with ABS and switchable traction control as standard, as well as three riding modes – Road, Rain and Sport. These adjust throttle map and traction control settings to better suit the riding conditions or rider preference. This is enabled via the ride-by-wire technology, which delivers enhanced throttle response and better control.

Additional ride-enhancing technology includes the torque-assist clutch, reducing rider fatigue, as well as the immobiliser and under-seat USB charging socket.

For a better visibility on the road, the bike is equipped with an LED DRL incorporated into the headlight (market specific).

80+ custom accessories
Like all Triumph Modern Classics, the Thruxton RS has been designed with customisation at its heart, featuring a range of over 80 genuine Triumph accessories available. This includes the new Aegean Blue cockpit fairing, along with clip-on handlebars, heated grips and luggage, to name just a few.

All genuine Triumph accessories are designed alongside the bike itself, and are tested to the same quality and durability standards. That’s why all accessories come with the same two-year unlimited mileage warranty as the bike itself.

Rocket 3 R

Available for one year only, the new 221 Special Editions combine a unique new paint scheme, showcasing the Rocket’s class-leading performance numbers, with all of the Rocket’s signature muscular style, phenomenal handling and effortless touring capability.

Named after its world-leading 221 Newton metres of peak torque, the new Rocket 3 R 221 Special Edition and Rocket 3 GT 221 Special Edition are eye-catching, premium and desirable.

Rocket 3 GT

Magnificent style with striking 221 Edition paint scheme
The distinctive 221 Edition Rockets feature a distinctive new paint scheme where the striking Red Hopper tank and front mudguard, beautifully contrasts with the Sapphire Black mudguard brackets, headlight bowls, flyscreen, side panels, rear bodywork and radiator cowls. The paint scheme is further enhanced by the bold and unique 221 knee pad graphics, as well as the subtle tank-top graphics which showcase all of the Rocket’s exceptional performance numbers, including 221Nm torque, 2458cc engine, 167PS power, 85.9mm stroke and 110.2mm bore.

On top of the unique 221 Edition paint scheme, the special editions feature all of the signature style elements that have made the Rocket a new modern motorcycle icon: the imposing and muscular stance, the distinctive twin headlights and the beautifully sculpted 3 header exhaust run. And, as with all Triumphs, the attention to detail is of an exceptional standard, including for example, the hidden folding pillion footrest which, when folded, seamlessly blend into the clean lines of the Rocket’s design.

Rocket 3 R

Unparalleled performance
Renowned for being the largest production motorcycle engine on the planet, the Rocket 3 R and GT deliver world-leading performance from low down in the rev range. And it’s that incredible class-defining performance that has given the new 221 Special Editions their name.

The 2,458cc triple engine not only delivers the world’s highest peak torque of 221Nm at 4,000rpm, but peak power is also a breath-taking 167PS at 6,000rpm. The Rocket 3 R and GT are effortlessly thrilling to ride, beautifully smooth and responsive, for all day, any gear riding.

The engine has been designed to harmoniously blend with the Rocket’s magnificent style and features a distinctive hydroformed three-header exhaust run, carefully designed to deliver the incredibly rich triple engine roar that is guaranteed to turn heads.

The Rocket 3 R and GT also feature a high-performance six-speed helical-cut gearbox and a torque-assist hydraulic clutch for super-slick operation and an incredibly refined ride.

Phenomenal handling
The Rocket 3 R and GT 221 Editions benefit from all of the latest generation Rocket’s incredible ride and high level of standard specification. This includes the superb suspension package: a fully adjustable Showa monoshock rear suspension unit with piggy-back reservoir and 47mm upside down Showa cartridge front forks, adjustable for compression and rebound damping.

The incredible handling of this special edition Rocket 3 is also ensured thanks to its top specification Brembo Stylema® four-piston radial monobloc front brakes with twin 320mm floating discs. These cutting edge calipers are a lightweight and compact design, with optimised air flow for efficient cooling.

Further highlighting the incredible specification of this bike, on the rear the Rocket 3 mounts a Brembo M4.32 four-piston monobloc caliper and 300mm disc, a setup more commonly found at the front end of a motorcycle.

Rocket 3 GT

Innovative design is key to the Rocket’s phenomenal handling and some of the best examples of this can be found in the beautifully engineered single-sided cast aluminium swingarm, the mass optimised aluminium frame, the hidden folding pillion pegs, and the internally wired roadster style handlebars on the R model, or the touring handlebars on the GT model.

The wheels are lightweight, cast aluminium, with an intricate 20-spoke design and come fitted with high-specification Avon Cobra Chrome tyres. These have been developed especially for the Rocket 3 and deliver exceptional grip and high mileage durability.

With so much power available, the ergonomics have been carefully designed to optimise comfort and control. The rider’s seat has been sculpted to provide perfect support, while the adjustable foot controls give with two vertical position settings on the R model, and three horizontal position settings on the GT model.  Seat height is an accessible low 773mm on the R model, and 750mm on the GT model, and the rider can also change the set-up from twin seat to single with an accessory infill pad.

Thanks to the 18-litre fuel tank, the Rocket 3 R and GT 221 Editions ensure a great long distance touring range.

Ride-enhancing technology
The Rocket 3 R 221 Edition and the Rocket 3 GT 221 Edition benefit from all of the standard specification of the base models including optimised cornering ABS and optimised cornering traction control. These are controlled by a sophisticated Inertial Measurement Unit which measures the roll, pitch, yaw and acceleration rates of the bike in order to calculate the lean angle and optimise braking and traction control accordingly.

The instruments are full-colour TFTs, which are angle-adjustable and have two information layout themes that can be personalised. The My Triumph connectivity system software is already installed, enabled, set-up and ready to be used with the accessory-fit Bluetooth module. This enables GoPro interaction, turn-by-turn navigation and phone and music operation via the switch cubes, all displayed on the TFT screen.

Rocket 3 R

Four riding modes – Road, Rain, Sport and Rider-configurable – adjust the throttle response and traction control settings to suit rider preference and riding conditions. The modes can be easily changed while on the move via the illuminated switch cubes.

For low energy consumption, durability and great visibility on the road, the Rocket 3 R and GT feature all-LED lighting, including the twin LED headlights, beautifully shaped tail light, indicators and number plate light. The headlights also incorporate Triumph’s signature shaped LED Daytime Running Lights, where market legislation allows, increasing rider visibility to other road users.

As standard both Rocket 221 Editions come equipped with hill hold control, cruise control, keyless ignition and keyless steering lock, and an under-seat USB charging socket. Plus, on the GT model, heated grips are also fitted as standard

Rocket 3 GT

50+ Genuine Triumph accessories
As with all Triumph motorcycles, a wide range of genuine accessories are available to enhance the Rocket’s comfort, practicality, style and security. All accessories are designed alongside the bike itself, and all are tested to the same quality and durability standards.

Riding the Street Twin is made even more comfortable thanks to the torque-assist clutch for light, easy operation, making riding in heavy traffic conditions much less stressful.

An easy-to-read analogue speedometer and a digital rev counter and menu system are seamlessly integrated into the clocks. The menu is accessed by a handlebar mounted scroll button, for fingertip control while riding.

Triumph Bonneville T120 Review

Last month I tested the Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS and now for a slight change of pace I am looking at my first modern classic – the Triumph Bonneville T120.

Despite the constant bombardment of flashy supersport & naked motorbikes in the market, classic motorbikes are still loved by enthusiasts around the world. Unfortunately, there are a handful of new classic two-wheelers being sold by the manufacturers these days, so the choices are quite limited. Nevertheless, you can always get your hands on the classic British icon, the Triumph Bonneville T120. The Bonneville has a 60-year long legacy that has been refined & modernized over time to make it appealing for the masses. The 2021 model carries various upgrades & versions that are sure to entice classic moto lovers.

To get an in-depth look at the revamped Bonneville, I decided to get a first-hand look at it and feel how is it different. In all fairness, giving a makeover to a classic icon is a no mean feat and it requires careful calibrations on all facets so that the original character is preserved. Thankfully, Triumph has hit the nail right on the head as the latest iteration of the Bonneville T120 feels contemporary yet vintage enough to satisfy its core customer base. Everything from the round indicators & headlamp to the classic peashooter silencer makes the new T120 as identical to its first generation as it can ever get.

Now that the visual aspects have been covered, it is high time that I should shed some light on the deeper character traits of the Bonneville T120. The overall finishing is impeccable, just as we have come to expect from the entire lineup of Triumph motorbikes. The bulging parallel-twin engine and a rather chunky gearbox perfectly complement the classic appeal of the original Bonneville that had always remained a favorite amongst enthusiasts.

While the new Bonneville does not pack as much old-school technology under its belt as its older versions, it certainly has enough to offer to any retro fan out there. The 1200cc parallel-twin engine with its 79 hp and 105 Nm of torque may sound a bit underwhelming, but you have to experience the bike for yourself to discover its true nature. The 10.0:1 compression ratio also doesn’t lend a helping hand to the power output figures but keep in mind that all the torque is readily available in the lower band which is just great for the purpose the motorbike is made for. The engine obviously isn’t fed by a carburetor instead it utilizes a multipoint EFI system that helps in maximizing the efficiency and reducing the emissions level. Thanks to the use of various measures to curb carbon emissions, the new Bonneville T120 is Euro-5 compliant and despite that, the performance has remained untethered.

The flat lowered down café racer-style seat provides a comfortable upright posture that is well suited for long rides (and older bones lol). The raised handlebar houses several riding aides on the grips that also include cruise control helping the rider effortlessly cruise through the motorways without having to constantly keep the hands on the throttle. The 6-speed torque-assisted gearbox is also quite helpful and engaging that adds to the pleasure of riding, but perhaps the most exciting part for me was the exhaust note that superbly mimics the sound of old-school classics. One scratches his head to figure out how Triumph managed to fine-tune the exhaust keeping in mind that the technology used underneath the skin is completely different from the one used decades ago.

The overall riding experience is quite relaxing which is partly thanks to the weight that has been shed off the various parts of the bike. The aluminum spoke wheels, a lighter crankshaft, and the absence of a center stand all make a noticeable difference, though the absence of the latter would be problematic for many. Stopping the front aluminum spoke wheels are dual-piston Brembo brakes that in conjunction with the ABS does a good job at bringing the 1200cc motorbike to a halt. In addition to the ABS, there are two riding modes and a revamped instrument cluster that portrays the perfect blend of contemporary & retro looks.

Unfortunately, some essential options such as the center stand & grab handle have been made an optional extra which sounds like a cost-cutting strategy. Nonetheless, a comprehensive suite of upgrades allows it to remain competitive and attractive in this day & age. The availability of numerous trims provides the buyer with wider choices that together with a service interval of 10,000 miles and a sticker price of £11,000 make the 2021 T120 a good option in the classics niche.

Summary: All in all, the new Triumph Bonneville T120 is a great classic motorbike that has managed to remain true to its roots to this date.

I think I can now officially agree that I am getting on a bit now my body much preferred the Triumph Bonneville T120 over the beast that was the Speed Triple 1200 RS

In my younger days I was always a sports bike rider and was never a fan of classic bikes they were deemed unreliable etc but saying that my 916 used to break down all the time. Maybe it’s a age thing I started appreciating them much more and with the Triumph modern classics you have the looks but backed up with modern reliability and technology.

Perfectly illustrating the quality and attention to detail that Triumph is renowned for, and only available for one year, these new Gold Line Editions are premium, desirable and exclusive.

The Art of Gold Lining
The industry-leading hand-painted gold lining expertise of Triumph’s paint shop is a skill that takes incredible patience, years of experience and the steadiest of hands.

Many of the new Gold Line Edition designs start with a two-colour base scheme, where the joining point between the two colours is flattened down. The gold line is then carefully hand-applied, usually in one continuous stroke by the artist, using a very specialised soft-bristled sword-liner brush. Once the pin stripe is in place, it’s sealed against the elements with a final clear coat of lacquer.

The paints used for the gold lining are specially formulated by mixing a powered colour with a cellulose lacquer for exactly the right consistency, as normal automotive paint is too thin for brush work.

Just like every hand-lined Triumph, the artist adds the finishing detail to each Gold Line Edition by signing their work with their initials, providing a personal touch that makes every hand-painted Triumph special.

Bonneville T100 Gold Line Edition
The Bonneville T100 is the perfect entry-point to Triumph’s acclaimed Modern Classics range, with confidence-inspiring handling, a punchy 900cc twin engine, and a high level of specification including cartridge forks, Brembo front brake with ABS, torque assist clutch and switchable traction control, and of course all of the Bonneville’s signature style.

The Bonneville T100 Gold Line Edition features all of the latest generation updates including the additional 10PS peak power, for a total of 65PS at 7,400rpm and punchy peak torque of 80Nm at 3,750rpm. The low inertia engine is responsive and fully Euro 5 compliant.

The Bonneville T100 Gold Line Edition features a beautiful Silver Ice fuel tank, front and rear mudguards, and side panels, combined with a classic Competition Green fuel tank infill, edged with hand-painted gold lining and subtle ‘gold line’ logo. The Competition Green is also present on the side panel stripe graphics with unique new white and gold Bonneville T100 logos and hand-painted gold lining.

Completing the look, the accessory fly screen is now available in a matching Silver Ice.

Street Scrambler Gold Line Edition
Triumph’s stylish and accessible urban Street Scrambler is powered by the latest generation Euro 5 compliant High Torque 900cc twin engine, with a unique Scrambler tune. It delivers strong power and torque exactly where you need it, with 65PS peak power at 7,250rpm and 80Nm peak torque at 3,250rpm. It’s comfortable, fun and really intuitive to ride, with high-specification cartridge forks and preload-adjustable twin rear shocks, wire spoked wheels with Metzeler Tourance tyres, and a Brembo front brake with switchable ABS

The Gold Line Edition adds to the Street Scrambler’s premium custom style and detailing, with a special Matt Pacific Blue scheme that perfectly suits the bike’s urban attitude and rugged style. The rich blue of the tank beautifully contrasts with the Graphite tank stripe and brushed foil knee pad graphics, both of which have accompanying hand-painted gold lining. The Triumph tank logo echoes that same gold.

The mudguards are finished in a premium Matt Jet Black, as is the side panel, which features a new gold Street Scrambler logo.

An accessory fit matching Matt Pacific Blue flyscreen and high-level mudguard will further add to the authentic Scrambler style.

Bonneville Speedmaster Gold Line Edition
Already a custom classic icon, the new Bonneville Speedmaster Gold Line Edition adds another level of sophistication and style. The beautiful Silver Ice fuel tank with Sapphire Black twin stripe design and brushed foil knee pad graphics is enriched by the hand-painted gold lining that edges every design element and is signed off with the elegant ‘gold line’ logo.

The Sapphire Black is carried across the side panels, which feature a unique new gold and silver Bonneville Speedmaster logo and more hand-painted gold lining. The headlamp bowl and mudguards are finished in Sapphire Black too, with the option of a matching accessory fit short front mudguard.

As with the rest of the Gold Line Editions, the Speedmaster Gold Line Edition is the very latest specification and delivers all of the comfortable, controlled and refined ride that customers expect from the Speedmaster thanks to its 47mm Showa cartridge forks, pre-load adjustable hidden monoshock RSU and twin Brembo front calipers. The low 705mm seat height, swept back beach bars and forward foot controls deliver a laid back, comfortable cruiser style.

The new Speedmaster Gold Line Edition is powered by the latest Euro 5 compliant version of the 1200cc High Torque Bonneville twin engine, delivering 78PS peak power at 6,100rpm and 106Nm peak torque at 4,000rpm.

Bonneville Bobber Gold Line Edition
The new Bonneville Bobber Gold Line Edition’s main design theme is Carnival Red, which is carried across the fuel tank and mudguards. The tank is enriched by a twin stripe design, with brushed foil knee pad graphics. These elements are edged with hand-painted gold lines, complementing the gold Triumph tank badges and the ‘gold line’ signature logo.

The side panels are finished in Sapphire Black, with a unique new gold and silver Bonneville Bobber logo and additional hand-painted gold lining.

The new Bonneville Bobber Gold Line Edition offers all of the latest generation’s updates which, together with the custom-inspired looks, delivers an excellent level of standard equipment, including twin Brembo front brakes with ABS, high-specification Showa suspension and a fat front wheel. The new Bobber Gold Line Edition is equipped with the responsive Euro 5 compliant High Torque 1200cc twin engine with dedicated Bobber tune, which delivers 78PS peak power at 6,100rpm and 106Nm peak torque at 4,000rpm.

An accessory fit matching Carnival Red short front mudguard is also available.

Bonneville T120 and T120 Black Gold Line Editions
Being the very latest specification Bonnevilles, the T120 and T120 Black Gold Line Editions feature all of the Bonneville’s torque-rich 1200cc twin performance, with 80PS peak power at 6,550rpm and 105Nm peak torque at 3,500rpm. Their sophisticated chassis set-up with 41mm cartridge forks, preload-adjustable twin RSUs and twin Brembo front calipers with ABS delivers a dynamic, agile and neutral ride.

The Bonneville T120 Gold Line Edition comes in a wonderful Competition Green and Silver Ice colour scheme. The classic Competition Green infill on the tank is edged with a hand-painted gold line and the subtle ‘gold line’ logo, while the side panels carry a stripe graphic, with a unique white and gold Bonneville T120 logo and hand-painted gold lining.

The mudguards are finished in Silver Ice and there’s an accessory fit matching Silver Ice flyscreen available too.

The Bonneville T120 Black Gold Line Edition, instead, has a darker edge thanks to the sophisticated Matt Sapphire Black paint scheme running across the tank, front and rear mudguards, headlamp bowl and side panels.

The tank infill is Matt Silver Ice, hand-edged with gold line detailing, as are the side panel stripe graphics, which feature a unique new black and gold logo design. The scheme perfectly complements the blacked-out engine, black exhaust system and the wealth of blacked-out details that give the Bonneville T120 Black its characteristic mean and moody attitude.

Both versions of the T120 feature all of the latest generation updates, such as the lightweight aluminium wheels, cruise control and enhanced riding modes, making the T120 and T120 Black Gold Line Editions even more premium and desirable.

Scrambler 1200 XC and XE Gold Line Editions
The Scrambler 1200 also gets its own Gold Line Editions – the versatile XC with its plush suspension and unrivalled, all-road, all-day performance and comfort, and the stunning XE – the world’s first genuine dual purpose modern classic adventurer, with a category-leading level of performance and specification.

Both models are powered by the latest generation Euro 5 High Power 1200cc Bonneville twin engine and both benefit from state-of-the-art rider-focused technology and an exceptional level finish and detailing.

The Scrambler 1200 XC Gold Line Edition comes in a stylish combination of Carnival Red and Storm Grey, with a hand-painted gold line running alongside an Aluminium Silver tank stripe and the subtle signature ‘gold line’ logo. The brushed foil knee pad graphics are also edged with a hand-painted gold line.  The side panel and headlamp bowl are both finished in the classic Jet Black.

The scheme for the Scrambler 1200 XE Gold Line Edition consists of a striking Baja Orange and Silver Ice tank, with a Pure White stripe and hand painted gold line.  As with the XC model, the brushed foil knee pad graphics are gold-lined, and the side panel and headlamp bowl are Jet Black.
