Kawasaki adds original Ninja colourways to 2024 model line

Having already unveiled several 40th anniversary Ninja models for the 2024 range in the racetrack influenced ZXR livery of blue, white and green, Kawasaki has now gone full throttle with the announcement of two further celebration models – but with a twist.

Reimagining the famous 1985 Ninja 900 colours for a today’s riding generation, the new season line will now include 40th Anniversary Editions of the Ninja 1000SX and Ninja 650, resplendent in black, silver and red livery redolent of early USA market Ninja models retailed in Europe under the GPz brand name.

The unmistakable two-tone Firecracker Red and Ebony colours are inspired by the 1985 Kawasaki GPZ900R with the colour of the silver line separating the red and ebony panels carefully selected to match the brightness of the original.

Additionally, on top of the fuel tank, a 40th anniversary emblem sits proudly. Designed in a style similar to a championship sticker and reminiscent of the 1980s racing scene, the outline of the “Ninja” logo was reproduced using the original designs while the “Liquid-Cooled” logo used elsewhere symbolises the transition from air-cooled to liquid-cooled engines in the late 80s.

Attention to detail abounds with the eye-catching addition of silver-coloured wheel rim tape representing the texture of the machined wheels of the 1980s.

Predicted to be a highly popular and collectable iteration of the Ninja family, all 40th Edition models will be available in showrooms alongside a vibrant range of standard colourways for the 2024 season.

Making the future a feature of today, Kawasaki hopes that a new generation of riders will enjoy and celebrate four decades of Ninja in the best way possible; on the open road at the controls of an iconic sports machine.

Both machines will be available in dealers from January, with the Ninja 650 priced at £7,589, and the Ninja 1000SX £12,399

Ninja 1000SX Sport Touring story extends into 2022

With few, if any, rivals, the Kawasaki sport touring Ninja 1000SX has been one of the stand-out machines of recent years. Carving itself an enviable niche as a machine that has supersport handling and DNA combined with the comfort and flexibility to tour solo or with passenger, the Ninja 1000SX has won the highest praise winning countless magazine and web site road tests.

Now in its fourth iteration, the Ninja 1000SX has been gradually refined and features a magical mix of features that combine to create a machine with real pedigree. The recent adoption of a sporting four into one exhaust and more angular cowling combine with radial mount mono-bloc front brake calipers, a radial mount master cylinder and horizontal back-link suspension plus up/down quick shifter to display authentic Ninja credentials.

And from a touring perspective, clever touches abound. In terms of luggage capacity, the combined total capacity of the accessory panniers is an impressive 56l plus a clean mount pannier system means that the supersport style of the machine is not marred by an ugly framework when the panniers are removed. Seat comfort has also recently been upgraded along with greater wind protection from a screen offering a wide range of adjustment to fine tune the ride.

In terms of electronic rider aids, the assistance is myriad thanks to the adoption of an IMU that, along with the ECU, measures inertia in six axis plus electronic cruise control as standard. Alongside this, selectable integrated riding modes and a cornering management function are standard as well as power mode selection, KTRC traction control, supersport level ABS and smartphone connectivity between the all-digital TFT colour meter and the riders’ smartphone via Kawasaki’s Rideology App.

Default choice for a legion of riders who want their machine to multi-task and excel at whatever it is asked to do, the 2022 Ninja 1000SX will deliver a truly unique combination of competencies.

The 2022 Ninja 1000 SX will be available during October, and comes in the following colours:

–           Metallic Diablo Black/Pearl Robotic White (Priced £11,399)

–           Emerald Blazed Green/ Metallic Diablo Black/Metallic Graphite Gray (Priced £11,599)

–           Metallic Matte Graphenesteel Gray/Steel Gray/ Metallic Diablo Black (Priced £11,599)

Also available in three further editions, including the ever popular Tourer edition priced from £12,499.  For further details please visit www.kawasaki.co.uk.

2020 Ninja 1000SX – The Best of Both Worlds

The 2020 Ninja 1000SX marks the fourth generation of a successful sport touring platform.  Cleaner emissions with the same great performance, sportier, more dynamic new styling, a single-sided muffler and all-LED lighting feature on the new spec list. Sport and Touring capability; the 2020 Ninja 1000SX truly offers the Best of Both Worlds.

Increased seat comfort for both rider and passenger is just one of the modifications that also include the debut of Electronic Cruise Control, a Quick Shifter, integrated Riding Modes combining KTRC and Power Modes and 10.9cm all-digital TFT colour instrumentation with smartphone connectivity – making this refined Sport Tourer more attractive than ever.

The new styling accentuates the new all LED lights including head and tail lights plus licence plate light and indicators while grip is delivered via Dunlop Roadsport Sportmax 2 tyres.

Ergonomically thicker, wider rider and passenger seats deliver increased comfort, facilitating longer hours in the saddle with the rear seat cushion being wider, it offers a greater surface area. Couple this with a new design of screen adjustable in no less than four positions – plus the option of a larger accessory screen – and distance riding is enhanced further still for the coming year.

Rider aids that previously included an electronic cornering management function plus intelligent anti-lock braking are augmented by four selectable rider mode options.

For further convenience, a Bluetooth chip built into the instrument panel enables riders to connect to their motorcycle wirelessly.  Using Kawasaki’s Rideology smartphone application a number of instrument functions can be accessed, contributing to an enhanced motorcycling experience.

Functions include vehicle information such as remaining fuel, distance covered and maintenance schedule. General settings such as preferred units and date format can be adjusted via Smartphone while the TFT screen itself can also show – via an icon – if a telephone call or email has been received by the smartphone plus the screen brightness automatically switches between three rider-set levels to suit the available light.

An up and down quick shifter is standard equipment in 2020 while twin silencers make way for a single sporty silencer mounted on the right hand side. Dynamic sport riding is enhanced by the adoption of Bridgestone Battlax Hypersport S22 tyres while the overall look becomes more sporting with numerous subtle changes to the styling including a new front mudguard.

Touring fans can be reassured that the innovative clean mount accessory pannier system continues for 2020 plus the option of accessory heated handlebar grips and even an under seat USB port as part of a long line of practical and sporty genuine accessory items.

Three new colours appear for the new season, metallic graphite gray / metallic diablo black sits alongside emerald blazed green / metallic carbon gray / metallic graphite grey and pearl blizzard white / metallic carbon gray / metallic spark black.

Sport or Tour, the Ninja 1000SX is more defined, more dynamic and more desirable for the new season and offers ‘The best of Both Worlds’.
