The 2024 KTM 390 Adventure Brings New Colourways Along For The Ride

Having set the benchmark for the sub-500 cc Adventure segment, the ever-impressive KTM 390 ADVENTURE heads into 2024 with fresh new colour schemes.

Merging all-road versatility and proven reliability with real-world performance, the KTM 390 ADVENTURE is known for its outstanding power-to-weight ratio, top-shelf technology and overall riding agility. For 2024, it brings the same impressive list of features to the fore, including adventure-ready 19″ front and 17″ rear cast wheels and a proven 373.2 cc powerplant, producing 44hp and 37 Nm.

The KTM 390 ADVENTURE is engineered with the rider in mind and encouraged by its versatile design and ergonomics, riders can charge with confidence down any road they choose. From its rally-style windscreen to its offroad-focused footpegs, all-day riding comfort, supreme offroad agility and unmatched rider involvement, the KTM 390 ADVENTURE is elevated to a class of its own – now more so than ever due two all-new colour combinations for 2024. In typical KTM fashion, a classic core palette of orange and black is joined by a new grey and white colourway. Both colour options perfectly match the KTM 390 ADVENTURE’s proportions and give this versatile TRAVEL machine a premium feel whilst remaining durable and resilient when tearing up all terrains.

2024 KTM 390 ADVENTURE highlights:

  • Class-leading electronics as standard, including OFFROAD Mode
  • Offroad-ready 19” front, 17” rear tubed cast wheels
  • 44 hp and 37 Nm of torque through the latest Euro 5, 373 cc engine

Take The Rougher Road With The Extra Potential Of The Revised 2023 KTM 390 Adventure

The KTM ADVENTURE family has all the performance and travel/adventure segment-leading features a rider will ever need. Sometimes, however, riders just want the most effective and exciting way to get from ‘A to B’, on a motorcycle that entices to an alternative path. This is where the sheer useability, superb power and handling, and engineering of the new spoked wheel 2023 KTM 390 ADVENTURE comes to the fore.

This compact and highly advanced package is one of the most versatile in the KTM range. The 2023 KTM 390 ADVENTURE is not only about the epic outings but also the ‘everyday’. Want that serviceable and dependable machine for the commute but also something that can handle a light offroad blast? No problem. Desire a bike that can still put out the torque and motor performance for a longer weekend ride-out with buddies? Easy. Need a modern, developed, race-informed, A2 compliant all-rounder to discover the delights of a trail for the first time? Look no further.

For 2023 KTM have not only splashed the KTM 390 ADVENTURE with a sharp, fresh look but have also beefed-up the offroad credibility even more. The bike now has tough, light black anodised aluminum rims and spoked wheels – 19” front and 17” rear – so even the rockiest routes of bumps and stones will not hinder or halt the journey home. The introduction of spoked wheels to the 2023 KTM 390 ADVENTURE further adds to existing strenghts to emphasise that ‘adventure’ really can be part of the daily routine.

Elsewhere, the impressively compact 4-stroke 373cc single cylinder engine uses twin overhead camshafts, four valves, a balancer shaft and electronic fuel-injection for smooth and uninterrupted momentum to the beat of 44hp and 37Nm of torque at 7000rpm. Two catalytic converters ensure the system breathes within Euro5 emission targets, while the 14.5-litre fuel tank vapour design also boosts the eco-friendliness of this particular KTM ADVENTURE.

The 2023 KTM 390 ADVENTURE may have smaller dimensions and specs compared to some of its larger siblings but it does not lack the adventure essentials. Ride-by-wire, Motorcycle Traction Control, Cornering ABS, OFFROAD mode (more rear wheel slip) and linked OFFROAD ABS (disengaged on the rear, reduced on the front) are feathered by the 46mm throttle body and the slipper clutch while being administered through the 5” colour TFT and intuitive handlebar switch.

Light weight and unbeatable agility is partly supplied by a chassis that takes its design cues from KTM’s work at the sharp end of rally competition. The KTM 390 ADVENTURE’s ’23 color also comes from this racing background. The steel trellis design and subframe construction achieves a satisfying blend of both feel, flex and long-term comfort; even the wind of the exhaust system is optimised for prime centralisation. WP Suspension APEX hardware is adjustable for compression, rebound and preload and achieves that rare chemistry of tactile grip with the road and confidence-inspiring efficiency for the dirt.

Add bodywork that has been angled to protect zones of the bike and to thrust the rider into full-control stance, a two-tier seat (that can be easily removed to reveal storage space and even swapped out for other models in the KTM PowerParts collection), LED lights, a windshield with two positions and wide ‘all-day’ footpegs, Brembo BYBRE brakes (320 front and 230mm rear discs with four-piston calipers on the front) and the 2023 KTM 390 ADVENTURE is complete. Live adventurously.

2023 KTM 390 ADVENTURE highlights
// New tougher aluminum spoked wheels for robust extra offroad potential and all-round topline performance granted by the CONTINENTAL TKC70 tyres
// Brand new 2023 colour and graphics scheme for fresh vibrant and sporty look
// Dependable 373cc 4-stroke single engine pumping out 44hp at 9000 rpm & 37 Nm of torque at 7000 rpm. Euro5 ready for the best emissions count
// Lightweight and reassuring steel trellis chassis with adjustable WP APEX 43 mm forks and shock
// Bosch electronics helping to inform the latest generation of Motorcycle Traction Control and Cornering ABS systems
// 172 kg fully fuelled, 14.5-litre tank and 830 mm lowest seat height
// Wide selection of KTM PowerParts including accessories, aftermarket components, aesthetic touches, riding gear and more

For 2023 the KTM 390 ADVENTURE comes in two different choices: the ‘spoked wheeled’ edition and the version with cast wheels and black/orange or blue/orange colour scheme.

Touratech parts for the KTM 390 Adventure

High-quality workmanship, available at a favourable price and suitable for the A2 driving licence – the KTM 390 Adventure is the perfect introduction to the world of adventure bikes.

With tailor-made accessories from Touratech, this easy-to-handle machine can be optimally equipped for journeys near and far.

For almost 25 years, adventure bikes from Mattighofen have proven that the model designation “Adventure” is not a marketing gimmick, but an honest commitment. Since the legendary 620, the Austrians have continued to develop their adventure models with great seriousness, and currently offer six models ranging from 390 to 1290 cubic centimetres.

Perfect base for adventurous tours
Even the entry-level model, the KTM 390 Adventure, provides the perfect basis for having fun on adventurous excursions: a feisty engine, solid spring elements and agile handling. If you are planning to ride the small Adventure off-road or on a longer trip, however, this is where Touratech parts come into play – extra-robust, well-engineered and tested over thousands of kilometres of trails.

Wide range of luggage systems
The Touratech range for the KTM 390 Adventure starts with the robust ZEGA aluminium pannier system, which is attached to an indestructible 18×2 steel tube rack. Several pannier sizes and designs are available. For even more storage space, there is the ZEGA Topcase, mounted to make it trail-proof on a rack with a quick-release fastener. Then there are the tank bags from the Ambato series. Depending on space requirements, there are three variants of this proven line to choose from.

Rugged parts for heavy use
When the going gets rough, the extra-rugged stainless steel engine crash bars come into play, offering effective protection in off-road use. Protectors are also available for the headlight as well as the rear ABS sensor. Also highly recommended for off-road riding are the folding foot brake lever and the folding rear view mirrors.
And last but not least, the 25 millimetre handlebar riser demonstrates its strengths on long stretches that demand a standing rider position. The handlebars are more comfortable to hold, and the rider’s position is much more upright. A better line of sight and less fatigue are the rewards of this small modification.
Wherever you plan to go with the KTM 390 Adventure – accessories from Touratech get the most out of this machine’s great potential.

KTM Bolsters New KTM 390 Adventure

KTM bolsters new KTM 390 adventure with more free-roaming spirit for adventurers of all demands.

Receiving selected key upgrades in its 2022 trim, the KTM 390 ADVENTURE is here to let every biker go out and adventure even more. No matter the rockiness of the mountain pass, the length of the wilderness trail or the demands of daily mileage, the new KTM 390 ADVENTURE is a highly capable and exhilarating exploration companion every step of the way.

Setting the benchmark in the smaller cylinder segment for outstanding power-to-weight, technology, and riding agility, the KTM 390 ADVENTURE is getting a fresh look and some key upgrades for 2022 that bring it closer than ever before to the full range of larger-displacement KTM ADVENTURE machines.

Further enhancing its potential to take riders to places far beyond the ordinary paths, the 2022 model’s extensive list of electronic features has been amplified with the addition of STREET and OFFROAD modes for Traction Control. Selecting OFFROAD from STREET will give the KTM a degree of rear wheel slip to enable even easier use of the bike in loose or wet terrain.

The KTM 390 ADVENTURE can be taken and pushed to the extreme and – if the conditions momentarily get the better of the rider – the OFFROAD TC will remain activated in the event of a brief stall or fall. The additional Traction Control capabilities mean it’s easier to get even more exploratory, allowing the KTM 390 ADVENTURE to consolidate its spot as the segment leader in terms of technology and electronic features.

Allowing riders to reach new extremes, KTM has given the 2022 KTM 390 ADVENTURE a set of even more robust cast wheels. The construction of the components is based around five spokes instead of six and this configuration permits increased stiffness and resistance for the rims.

For 2022, the visual identity of the KTM 390 ADVENTURE is bringing it even closer to the race-winning machines in the dunes and deserts around the globe. Available in two distinct color versions, both options highlight the sharp lines of KTM’s ultra-versatile adventurer.

Curious and skilled riders can also find all their requirements and juice at the throttle of the 2022 KTM 390 ADVENTURE. To prove the point, KTM enlisted the help of multi-time Baja winner Quinn Cody and world traveler Paolo Cattaneo to provide the ultimate verdict from their own weekend adventure here.

Enviable power is provided by the state-of-the-art, single cylinder, 4-stroke Euro5 motor hitting 43 hp and 37 Nm of torque. Additionally, the frame is based on the knowledge collected from millions of race kilometers for the right blend of flex, stability and control in straight line performance.

The bike’s famed agility is combined with the carefully considered ergonomics that place the rider right in the heart of the bike’s movements. The 2022 KTM 390 ADVENTURE can be steered like an offroader as much as it can flip into cruise for longer highway stretches, and the new look through the colors and graphics mean that the aesthetic is as sharp as the attributes.

KTM 390 ADVENTURE – HIGHLIGHTS
// Enhanced electronics as standard & OFFROAD TC for added adventuring potential
// Stronger and more resistant wheels for tougher riding
// 43 hp and 37 Nm of torque through the latest Euro5 crafted engine

KTM Reveal Triple Model Threat at EICMA 2019

KTM revealed their latest innovations on the first day of the EICMA motorcycle show in Milan, Italy. The company unveiled three brand new models – the KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE R, the KTM 890 DUKE R, and the KTM 390 ADVENTURE – as well as displaying their full range of motorcycles for 2020. Pride of place was reserved for KTM’s outstanding achievements in the world of racing with the KTM 450 RALLY, the KTM 250 SX-F, the KTM 300 EXC TPI and the KTM RC16 (MotoGP™) prominent.

The KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE R has been ‘re-Beasted’. KTM’s flagship bike has won rave reviews by catering for the preferences and skills of a vast range of motorcyclists and has undergone its most radical re-invention yet for 2020. A completely new chassis, styling and electronics mean the KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE R has trimmed weight across the board, while a reworked LC8 engine has unleashed even more power.

KTM have increased their potency in the midweight segment with the new KTM 890 DUKE R. Foregoing some of the excellent daily capabilities of its younger brother, the KTM 790 DUKE, the KTM 890 DUKE R is a sportier and edgier naked bike for hard riding. More power and more torque come from the new engine, which has been teamed with racier ergonomics, better brakes and fully adjustable WP APEX suspension. The KTM 890 DUKE R is ideal for the motorcyclist wanting a more extreme experience or searching for bigger thrills and flickability compared to a larger capacity model.

The new KTM 390 ADVENTURE has harnessed the attributes and DNA from the popular and highly rated KTM 790 ADVENTURE, as well as the development information learnt from nearly two decades of Dakar Rally success. An agile and ideal entry model for riders keen to discover the Adventure sensation, this motorcycle offers added versatility for touring and light offroading. Using elements of the KTM 390 DUKE as a base, the KTM 390 ADVENTURE offers proximity to the feeling and performance found at the root of the all-conquering KTM 450 RALLY but with crucial A2 license compatibility and current Euro emissions standards as part of the package.

KTM welcomes a ninth consecutive year of growth and another sales record in 2019 while continuing to pursue an even greater global market share and further consolidation as Europe’s leading manufacturer. KTM will also be seeking to build on the strengths of their dealer network and international strategic partnerships.

After a grand opening this summer, the work, innovation and history of the brand is now fabulously displayed in a visual and interactive manner at KTM’s new Motohall, located in Mattighofen. Mr. Trunkenpolz, together with KTM Motorsport Director Pit Beirer, also took time to reference the impact and importance of MotoGP™ and the firm’s presence at the elite level of racing as the conclusion of a third season in Grand Prix draws near.

There was considerable interest in a number of other motorcycles, especially the new KTM SX-E 5; an adjustable and versatile junior electric bike that has the potential to introduce a vast fresh generation to the buzz of riding.

In what is now customary fashion, KTM celebrated their competitive triumphs for the year. The Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team earned their 18th Dakar success as well as the FIM Cross Country Rallies World Championship with two different riders. The KTM 450 SX-F was the basis for Cooper Webb’s rookie AMA 450SX Championship win and victories for Tony Cairoli, Jeffrey Herlings, and Glenn Coldenhoff in MXGP. Spanish sensation Jorge Prado used the KTM 250 SX-F to accumulate a record amount of Grand Prix holeshots and won his second consecutive MX2 title. KTM recently launched the KTM 450 SX-F CAIROLI and KTM 250 SX-F PRADO limited editions in recognition of their feats.

Back on the slicks, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing made fantastic progress in MotoGP™ with four bikes on the premier class grid, two front row starts and a slew of top ten results from the 19 rounds of a season that is still delivering thrills. Moto2™ and Moto3™ victories were acknowledged and celebrated.

KTM announced that the fourth instalment of the unique European KTM ADVENTURE RALLY will take place in Greece in June 2020. A KTM ADVENTURE RALLY is the company’s scheme for Adventure riders who want to fully embrace the KTM READY TO RACE spirit and share offroad experiences in incredible surroundings to form unforgettable memories with likeminded motorcyclists, including KTM Ambassadors and factory riders.

KTM look to 2020 with great optimism. The surge of almost 10 years of expansion shows no signs of slowing as the company evolves their R&D activities and output for both STREET and OFFROAD markets, fueled by their racing endeavors. They will look to further consolidate their position as the continent’s #1 manufacturer while also exploring other areas of global growth.
