The New KTM SX Range Is Out Now

KTM’s desire to win in AMA Supercross and FIM Motocross World Championship continues to be demonstrated by outstanding performances in each series thanks to KTM’s focus in creating the sharpest weapons for the toughest battles. This READY TO RACE mindset and development in the most challenging arenas is translated directly into our production models.
For model year 2020 the new generation of KTM SX 2-strokes, KTM 125 SX, KTM 150 SX and KTM 250 SX and 4-strokes, KTM 250 SX-F, KTM 350 SX-F and KTM 450 SX-F have received performance enhancing engine updates to ensure they remain as battle-ready as ever. These detailed refinements have been developed with KTM´s test riders in Europe and the USA along with factory racers around the globe and complement the high-quality serial components that the KTM SX already boasts.
New graphics and colours give the range a fresh look for the season, while an E-starter and a map select switch with integrated traction control and launch control on 4-stroke machines are fitted as standard. Premium brakes supplied by Brembo and No-Dirt footpegs also feature in KTM’s class-leading line-up. High quality exhaust systems, plastics and seats join the reworked WP XACT suspension with proven AER technology, offering enhanced handling for model year 2020.
Designed by the same engineers that are responsible for the bikes raced by Jeffrey Herlings, Antonio Cairoli and Cooper Webb, the KTM sportminicycle line-up continues to set the benchmark in out-of-the-crate performance for junior riders. The KTM 50 SX, KTM 65 SX and KTM 85 SX have a new look and feature WP XACT suspension for precise handling and stability in the toughest motocross terrain.
All of the junior models boast premium components such as Formula brakes, a steel frame and ergonomically designed bodywork. For model year 2020 the KTM 65 SX has a reworked ignition curve for improved performance, while the carburettor has been optimised for better power delivery. Its bigger brother, the KTM 85 SX, has a new transmission drive shaft for safer sprocket fixation and a reworked exhaust system.
In addition, the KTM SX-E 5 joins the sportminicycles this summer as another competitive option for junior riders. Based on the KTM 50 SX with its high-end chassis the KTM SX-E is powered by an electric motor, has zero emissions, low noise and requires minimal maintenance – giving riders more options for places to ride. The height of the bike is also completely adjustable making it suitable for riders aged 4 to 10 years old.
“To be the consistent performer at any level of racing, you have to continue to progress in development. The work never stops – whether that’s here in Mattighofen, or with our engineers in the USA. The KTM SX range model year 2020 has received a number of updates to complement last year’s groundbreaking new generation models, and we can see that our continued efforts in development are paying off – our athletes both in Supercross and Motocross have enjoyed some fantastic results so far this season. Utilising the same R&D team as their bigger brothers, the KTM sportminicycle models remain at the very forefront of junior racing competition with detailed refinements for MY2020. The ELEMENTAL GTX TECH-AIR® JACKET was designed for hitting the road – literally! Exclusively created by Alpinestars for KTM, it provides the rider with all the necessary comfort and safety features. Compatible with ground-breaking TECH-AIR® airbag deployment technology (available separately), it offers superior body armour and abrasion resistance that sets a new benchmark in rider protection and all-weather adaptability.
 
ADV R GLOVES 
True performance offroad rally gloves, these provide perfect protection thanks to a double synthetic leather palm with thumb reinforcement, a protector on the heel of the hand and a breathable wind and waterproof OutDry™ performance membrane. New Adventures Start Now With KTM

The KTM 790 ADVENTURE and R version are serious offroad motorcycles at their core; developed with the intent of adventure riding but also accessible for riders of all sizes, experience and ability. Powered by a specifically-developed version of the LC8c 799cc parallel twin, these are fully-equipped machines for extreme-minded adventurers who want to charge off and tackle a wide range of terrain, whilst enjoying the comfort of long-distance travel ergonomics, sporty street handling and sophisticated electronics.

These completely new adventure bikes allow riders to push their own limits, ride harder and take the paths least explored, creating exceptional memories that are only possible on powered two-wheelers. Thanks to a 450km fuel range, these machines will encourage explorers to not only ride over the horizon but be driven to carry on past the next one.

Soaking up KTM’s experience in this segment and developed alongside the seemingly unstoppable Dakar-winning KTM 450 RALLY, these bikes set new benchmarks in adventure motorcycling while complementing the existing KTM Travel range.

Both machines share many characteristics and performance, but key differences to components and electronic functions give each bike its intended focus and rider appeal.

KTM 790 ADVENTURE
The KTM 790 ADVENTURE is the most offroad capable travel bike, ready to take on the roughest dirt trails and remains a high-performing street motorcycle. Running on conventional offroad wheel sizes using Avon TrailRider tires and with street focused WP suspension delivering performance on the long straight runs and – more importantly – when the tarmac twists. Aiding conviction for shorter riders is a low seat (height adjustable 830/850 mm) and with the option to lower it as far as 800 mm using an official KTM PowerParts seat and suspension options.

As well as the split rider and passenger seat, the KTM 790 ADVENTURE is set further apart from its R sibling with a longer screen and front fender design for increased wind protection. Larger mirrors also underline its need for more visibility on the street. Visually, it is instantly recognisable by a black frame and available in orange or white bodywork options.

The most travel capable offroad bike. The rally never has to end with the KTM 790 ADVENTURE R; The most performance-focused travel bike in its segment is able to travel longer distances than any other offroad bike.

Immediately distinguished by its white bodywork and orange frame, the R is set apart from its stablemate and all other adventure machines by the high-performance WP suspension it boasts.

Positioned more towards challenging offroad use, the fully adjustable XPLOR 48 mm upside-down fork and PDS shock absorber are the results of an intensive development program that has given the R true enduro-level suspension in a real and capable adventure bike package, that can also be ridden superbly on the street.

The rally ride mode (optional on the KTM 790 ADVENTURE) allows riders to choose their throttle behavior and control the amount of traction control between 9 different levels; perfect for when riding in changing terrains. The anti-wheelie mode is also deactivated in this mode.
