New Bluetooth flip-front helmet from Sena

New from Sena, the Outrush R is a fully Bluetooth® 5.0-integrated flip-front motorcycle helmet, made for complete wireless connectivity on the move, without the need to fit cables, microphones, speakers or intercom units.

Mating Sena’s latest mobile communications technology with a premium, dual homologated modular helmet, the Outrush R allows the wearer to pair with a smartphone to hear turn-by-turn GPS directions, listen to music or FM radio, take phone calls and chat with up to four other riders.

Bluetooth 5.0
Powered by Bluetooth® 5.0, the Outrush R can link up with one other Sena Bluetooth® device for full High Definition intercom, or up to four for quick and easy communication on group rides – with a range up to half a mile (900-metres) and a talk time of up to 12 hours.

Advanced Noise Control filters cut out road and wind noise, so conversations, turn-by-turn navigation instructions, and music are crystal clear.

Meanwhile Audio Multitasking allows you to have an intercom conversation while simultaneously listening to music, FM radio, or GPS directions. The overlaid audio is played in the background and will return to normal volume once the conversation is finished.

A charge time of just 2.5 hours means the user can stay connected on longer tours with minimal fuss – no more being left out of the loop.

Set-up couldn’t be easier, as the Outrush R is fully compatible with the Sena Headset App – available free for download on both iPhone and Android – which allows the user to change feature settings, access the device Quick Start Guide and more.

The Sena App also features Smart Intercom Pairing for quick and easy connections: simply scan the QR code on the other rider’s Utility App – no button pressing sequences or beeps to listen for.

Dual homologated flip-front
The helmet itself has a light yet tough ABS shell and multi-density EPS liner for first class protection. It’s fully ECE certified and dual P/J homologated, so it is legal to ride with the chin bar up or down.

Air intakes at the chin and forehead, along with a rear exhaust port, keep the wearer cool. The lining is removable and washable for season-long freshness.

A quick release, fog-resistant visor gives a clear view of the road ahead and a drop-down sun visor shields the eyes from glare.

Topping off the spec are a fully Reinforced Chin Strap and Steel Quick Release Buckle.

The Outrush R helmet is available in Matte Black and Glossy White, in sizes S-XXL and is priced at £249.99. It comes with all of the tech pre-installed and is ready to use straight out of the box.

COMFORT AND CLARITY
The Sena 5S has in-helmet speakers that are optimised for both physical comfort and audio performance. Slimmer, with a bevelled taper, they’re designed to be unobtrusive and comfortable inside close-fitting motorcycle helmets. Mesh 2.0

At the heart of the 50 series intercoms is Mesh 2.0 Intercom™ technology, transferring 80% more data across harsh and challenging conditions, providing superior intercom audio quality with a rock-solid connection.

Out on the road there are three different intercom modes: Group Mesh Intercom, Multi-Channel Open Mesh Intercom and Bluetooth Intercom.

With Group Mesh, you can create a private group with up to 24 participants over a range of up to 5 miles. Users are invited into Group Mesh, giving added control and privacy.

Multi-Channel Open Mesh lets you communicate with virtually anyone participating in the Mesh 2.0 network within a range of up to 5 miles and also features multi-channel options – an industry first. With nine channels available, you can switch to a new frequency for conversations with different riding groups within the larger Open Mesh group.

Additionally, traditional Bluetooth Intercom mode offers additional flexibility to connect with other riders.

Best of all, Mesh users stay connected, even when they stray out of range, so there is no need to pair intercoms again once back in range.

H-D Clarity

Both the 50S and 50R come with speakers optimised for size and sound. Slimmer, with a beveled taper, they’re designed to be unobtrusive and comfortable inside close-fitting motorcycle helmets, yet the output is now crisper, clearer and louder than previous models.

WiFi Adapter

Real multitasking; the WiFi Adapter recharges the Sena 50 series and automatically installs firmware updates, when connected to Wifi – no more connecting to PC.

The fast-charge battery recharges 30% faster than its predecessors. A full charge of the unit happens in just an hour so your 50 series is ready to go in as little as 20 minutes for up to three hours of Mesh communication or five hours of Bluetooth intercom.

Voice activation

The 50 series lets you keep your concentration firmly on the road without lifting a finger. Functions can be selected by voice commands, including entering Open Mesh or answering phone calls. The 50 series supports multi-language voice commands, responding to English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Chinese, Japanese, and Russian. However the most powerful upgrade is the new direct access to Google or Siri digital assistants through your smartphone.

Brand New App

Alongside the updates to the units, Sena have also created a new mobile app to provide riders with an intuitive way to get the most out of their 50 series intercoms.

Two designs

There are two designs to choose from in the 50 series, offering different control options. The 50S has a tried-and-trusted jog dial design, while 50R has a sleek three-button layout . Both retail for £309- in a  single pack and the dual pack sells for £549- (including VAT).

Sena Savage Helmet – Sound Styling

New from Sena, the Savage is the first open face motorcycle helmet with full Bluetooth 4.1 capability built-in; packing the premium communication technology Sena is known for, while keeping classic uncluttered lines.

Hidden beneath the Savage’s composite fiberglass shell is all the technology you’d expect from a top-of-the-line Sena communication system for bike-to-bike comms, phone calls, turn-by-turn GPS and FM Radio or Mp3 music on the move.

Just like a normal intercom the Savage can connect with up to three riders and works up to an impressive 1.6km (1 mile) range for easy bike-to-bike chat.

HD Bluetooth speakers built into the ear cavities and a high quality mic hidden in the upper rim of the helmet allow crystal clear audio and voice. Both feature Sena’s advanced Noise Control software, to minimise wind noise.

All functions are controlled with the easy-to-use Jog Dial Control, which is built into the Savage – no fiddly buttons to find or press sequences to learn. Voice prompts also feature for ease of operation.

It also boasts a talk time of 11 hours and a charging time of just 3 hours – ideal for touring and weekends away.

The Sena Headset app allows easy configuration of settings, the creation of FM radio and speed dial pre-sets, and access to an interactive quick start guide.

As with all Sena units the Savage can be kept up-to-date with firmware upgrades, which can be downloaded straight into the helmet.
