Riding Route 66 – Henry Cole’s new book

Riding Route 66: Finding Myself on America’s Mother Road

RIDING ROUTE 66 follows Henry Cole as he travels along America’s most famous highway on a journey of self-discovery.

Known as ‘Mother Road’, Route 66 is one of the most famous highways in the USA. Crossing the width of the country, it is an immensely challenging route to travel and Henry has ridden it three times. This book is about the freedom that only the road and a motorcycle can give you, and the importance of embracing the highs and lows of life equally.

The book is more than the story of a road trip, as Henry explains; “Every time I have ridden 66, within 10 miles of setting off, I never want that ride to end. I think it’s because Route 66 encapsulates struggle and, ultimately, triumphing over unimaginably difficult conditions. I think everyone can connect with that.”

One of the most-recognised faces in UK motorcycling, Henry Cole is on television most days of the year as the presenter of shows like The World’s Greatest Motorcycle Rides, The Motorbike Show, Shed and Buried, Junk & Disorderly and Find It, Fix It, Flog It! His career also involves producing and directing and he has his own television production company, HCA Entertainment. Henry is the author of two previous books, A Biker’s Life and The Life-changing Magic of Sheds.

Riding Route 66: Finding Myself on America’s Mother Road is on sale from 6th June priced £22- (hardback, 272 pages) and is available on Amazon and from all good book shops.

Shed & Buried Series 6 starts in June

Henry and Fuzz return to Quest for some serious shed searching

Henry Cole and Fuzz Townshend will return to the nation’s small screens – and outbuildings – this June, with brand new episodes of Shed & Buried.

Now in its sixth series, Shed & Buried brings together bike-mad Henry with fellow vehicle fanatic Fuzz and expert restorer Guy Willison, to do what they do best – unearthing the automotive antiquities buried in Britain’s sheds, outbuildings and barns.

Top haggler Henry has a real eye for a bargain and loves all things two- three- and four-wheeled – and is rather partial to a period petrol pump. He’ll be on the hunt for cars, bikes, boats, tractors and anything else motoring-related he can lay his hands on.

Helping him out – and holding him back from buying something before they can give it the once over – are Fuzz Townshend and Guy ‘Skid’ Willison. They’ll have the unenviable task of getting whatever Henry finds up and running again. Engineering genius Allen Millyard is also on call again, for engines that refuse to run.

Will they find a nice little earner? Maybe. Whatever happens, there’s guaranteed to be a lot of rummaging, a bit of fiddling, fettling and polishing, tea and biscuits, and plenty of pleasure in resurrecting long-neglected vehicles.

Shed & Buried returns to Quest (Freeview channel 12) from 11th June. It’s also available to stream on the discovery+ website at www.discoveryplus.co.uk.

NEW TV – Shed & Buried: Classic Cars

Shed & Buried supremos Henry Cole and Fuzz Townshend team-up with workshop wonders Allen Millyard and Guy Willison for eight one-hour specials with a focus on four-wheelers.

Henry Cole, Britain’s most enthusiastic TV biker, is turning his attention from two wheels to four this spring, for eight special one-hour episodes of Shed & Buried.

Shed & Buried: Classic Cars sees Henry team-up with Fuzz Townshend once again. The duo will be doing what they do best: digging in the nation’s sheds, barns and outbuildings, this time to (hopefully) find a tidy profit in some vintage motors.

Henry’s love of motorbikes and tractors is well-known, but he still has a soft spot for classic cars. Fuzz – who has an encyclopaedic knowledge of all things automotive – is the perfect partner to help him unearth some classic four-wheelers and turn them into nice little earners.

That’s only half the battle – once their finds are back in the shed, restorer extraordinaire Guy Willison and engineering genius Allen Millyard will be put to the test, turning the rusty wrecks the lads have unearthed into right royal runners.

As always, Henry will need to keep Fuzz focused, to make sure he doesn’t buy an obscure vintage bus or lorry. Fuzz will have to keep an eye on Henry too, as he’s usually done a deal before Fuzz can even lift the bonnet.

“Fuzz might have to steer me away from a few two-wheelers while he’s at it, as old habits die hard” says Henry. “I’m hoping to sneak the odd classic bike past him on the QT”.

We can’t guarantee they’ll turn a profit, but there will be plenty of entertainment, when the team take the restored cars for a test ride in their natural environment.

Shed & Buried: Classic Cars is due to be shown Quest (Freeview channel number 12) starting 7th March 2024.

It will also be available to stream on the discovery+ website www.discoveryplus.co.uk

Five-date theatre tour gives fans chance to get up close and personal with TV’s Henry Cole.

Henry Cole fans will be able to get up close and personal with the man himself, as the effervescent presenter of Shed and Buried and The Motorbike Show embarks on his first ever theatre tour in 2024.

There will of course also be plenty of chat around his lifelong passion for motorcycles and the tinkering and restoring of vintage machinery. Plus a good smattering of fishing, tractors, cycling and most importantly his wife Janie, two sons Charlie and Tom, and his dog Jelly Bean.

If that’s not enough, host Steve Parrish – former British Motorcycling champion, teammate to Barry Sheene and ex-MotoGP commentator – will doubtless pull out a few anecdotes along the way too.

New Series of Shed & Buried in October

Henry Cole and friends return with a new series of Shed & Buried from 16th October

Henry will be joined by fellow fanatic Fuzz Townshend, with top restorers Allen Millyard and Guy Willison, on the hunt for vintage treasures in the nation’s sheds. They’re going to buy them, fix them up, then sell them for a tidy profit.

That’s the plan and fans will be able to follow the team’s progress in ten brand new 30-minute episodes, as they wrestle with neglected motorcycles, cars, trucks, tractors, petrol pumps and more, in an effort to bring them back to life.

Motorbike-mad Henry will be haggling, while Fuzz uses his automotive expertise to spot hidden gems on four wheels. Back in the shed, Guy’s talent for restoration will be needed to transform rusty iron into ‘gold’ while Allen’s engineering genius will be put to the test, making machines run for the first time in decades.

Tune in to Quest (Freeview channel number 12) from week commencing 16th October to view the new series.

New Series of Shed & Buried on TV in May

Henry, Fuzz and Guy are back on the box, finding and fixing automotive treasures

The nation’s shed supremos, Henry Cole, Fuzz Townshend and top restorer Guy Willison, are back on the road hunting for automotive treasure lying dead in the nation’s sheds, hoping to restore their finds and sell them on for a tidy profit.

The challenge is to find neglected motorcycles, cars, trucks, tractors and general trinketry that is ripe for restoration. Henry’s job is to haggle for the best possible deal; Fuzz is on hand for expert advice and to spot anything that is likely to be more trouble that it’s worth. And Guy brings his restoration skills to the party, not only fixing, but often enhancing rusty relics. With occasional help from engineering genius Allen Millyard, when engines stubbornly refuse to run.

Ten brand new 30-minute episodes of Shed & Buried are due to broadcast on Quest (Freeview channel number 12) starting on 23rd May at 9pm.

Shed & Buried is also available to stream on the discovery+ website at www.discoveryplus.co.uk.
