SPIDI unveils Race One

SPIDI unveils Race OneThe new 100% Made in Italy gloves, in which racing heritage becomes a style experience

SPIDI releases Race One, the 100% Made in Italy gloves produced in the Safety Lab, the in-house laboratory where the first ever inclined motorcycle glove was created in 1977, designed according to the anatomy of the hand. A place that has always been dedicated to innovation, where today technologies for MotoGP – such as electronic airbag -, are developed, together with collaborations with the most influential streetwear brands in the world.

With Race One, heritage racing becomes aesthetic exploration. These gloves, in fact, reinterpret the racing DNA of the Brand, which has been partnering with two-wheel champions since the Seventies, and combine it with the stylistic research that distinguishes SPIDI in the world of motorsports.

Technologies have changed in 45 years, but the inspiration from which Race One was born is always the same. From the SPIDI headquarters located in Sarego-Italy you can indeed enjoy an ambitious perspective on the Alps which, majestic, invite you to face ever greater challenges, through increasingly ambitious projects.

To translate into reality, however, inspiration must meet the perfect materials. SPIDI relies only on the best know-how in leather processing, which is an art in the Chiampo valley. It is in fact this Italian region where all best leathers for technical gloves come from. While in the same area, craftsmanship meets high-tech innovation to print the studs which, once incorporated into the gloves, deliver comfort in wearability and maximum protection in the event of a crash.

In the Sarego workshop, the worlds of racing and fashion merge inextricably into a unique goal: Race One. Innovation is the soul of this place that changed the history of motorcycling with its prototypes, including the first anatomical motorcycle gloves (1977), the first motorcycle jeans (1988), the first jacket with integrated airbag (1998), the first rider cooling device (2004) and the first anti-smog riding jacket (2019). Milestones of motorcycle gear, but also opportunities to test advanced technologies from which, for example, applications for the medical sector were born.

The colors of Race One are two, like its souls: black and white. The elongated lines reinterpret the concept of speed, recalling the acceleration and forces that these gloves are designed to challenge. Even the protectors placed on the glove are in balance between performance and style: obtained through direct injection and designed to limit abrasion in the event of a slide, with their design they become distinctive elements.

Craftsmanship and high-tech, racing and fashion, performance and comfort. In Race One contrasts coexist and strengthen the identity of the glove, giving life to a unique object, destined to leave its mark.

SPIDI STEP-INARMOR technology

Three layer jacket. RE-INVENTED.
25 years after the introduction of the first ever motorcycle garment with removable waterproof membrane, SPIDI reinvents the three-layer jacket with STEP-INARMOR, a new technology that places the protective layer close to the body. The outer layers are lightweight, more casual items of clothing. STEP-INARMOR revolutionizes the concept of layering. It’s a new jacket technology with protections on the inside, offering riders everything they need in a single garment. Motorcycle jackets designed with this technology combines 3 layers (Armor/ Soft Shell/ Hard Shell) in multiple combinations, able to challenge any climatic condition.

Armor.
STEP-INARMOR jackets feature an inner net layer (CE Certified to the Pr En 17092-3:2017) integrating all necessary protections. This revolutionary concept allows riders to be fully safe even whilst wearing the lightweight armor alone, for example during the warmest summer days. The armor fit is slim, to better keep the protectors very tight to the body and reduce the protectors rotational motion during a crash.

Soft Shell.
The middle layer, a Comforce Technology thermal liner wearable as a stand alone, features Windout membrane to block the wind while maintaining an extreme breathability level, thus granting a dramatic reduction of wind chill effect. Light, comfortable and finely designed, this casual garment can be sported whilst taking a break from the road or in combination with the other layers.

Hard Shell.
A groundbreaking innovation inspired by extreme mountaineering, the external layer is a super high-tech, ultra-lightweight hard shell protecting riders from the elements, without compromising on comfort or style. Handy and versatile, this water- and wind-proof shell perfectly combines comfort and style, thanks to H2Out® waterproof & breathable membrane. H2Out® is the proprietary SPIDI membrane, a windproof, waterproof shield, which is at the same time breathable, light, flexible with micrometric thickness, a result of years of co-operation into research in Japan with Toray®. The hard shell can be used as a rain jacket over any other multi-functional garment.

One jacket – Six possible configurations.
By freely combining the three layers through a practical zip and loop system, riders can create six different configurations, adapting the jacket to their surroundings. The lightest adventure jacket ever designed by SPIDI Safety Lab: safe but extremely lightweight, the STEP-INARMOR technology offers riders everything they need – protection, soft-shell and hard-shell – in a single garment. This technology is a project by SPIDI Safety Lab. Its team of experts is committed to integrating the success of SPIDI design with the most advanced solutions in the field of safety worldwide, without compromise.

The Mission-T Jacket.
The first ever jacket integrating STEP-INARMOR technology is the Mission-T (www.spidi.com/product/D238-026), featuring premium materials and compnents such as Dermizax® laminate, Level 2 protectors and bi-elastic soft shell for an unparalleled comfort in any weather condition.

The SPIDI Style.
Since 1977, SPIDI has been delivering premium products for the motorsport lifestyle community, driven by a deep sense of responsibility in devising design solutions to protect riders on the road and by a constant strive for innovation to patent and integrate new and more efficient technology. Style also plays an important part in SPIDI’s worldwide success. Designing premium quality garments with extreme levels of technology and an understated, fashion-oriented look is the challenge that the company has taken on with unwavering commitment and that will shape the future of the motorbike community.

SPIDI Allroad H2Out Suit

SPIDI, Creators Of Revolutionary Four Season Capable Jackets

Combining the functionality of three motorcycle jacket types into a single jacket has been a priority for SPIDI since 1994, when the first ever motorcycle jacket featuring this construction concept was introduced.

At the time SPIDI jackets were of two primary types: summer jackets, with removable liners, and winter jackets, with a z-liner construction membrane. These winter jackets had no ventilation and for this reason they were too hot to use in warmer climates. In order to solve this problem the team at SPIDI have developed a revolutionary new removable insulating membrane – creating a jacket that can be worn in all four seasons, from summer through winter, simply by adding or removing internal layers.

4Season Technology – Tested Over 1,000,000 Kilometers Across Europe, Iceland, and the Sahara.

Over the past 5 years the SPIDI 4Season suits have represented a benchmark in terms of functionality and design. The 4Season suit was tested by 100 riders participating to Test and Ride, a contest where only riders crossing 3 European borders could take part. More than 1,000,000 kilometers have been ridden taking 4Season to extreme conditions, from freezing Icelandic coasts to the baking heat of Moroccan deserts. An incredible and inprecendented series of product tests that generated a new generation of multilayers products, the Allroad collection.

SPIDI Allroad, The Ultimate Step-In-Wear Suit

SPIDI Allroad represents the ultimate evolution of this technology, the sum total of all SPIDI adventure-touring apparel knowledge. The main chassis integrates high-tenacity Extra Tenax 3-layered nylon 6.6 – offering excellent abrasion and puncture resistance – and a PU-coated polyester, in comfort-sensitive areas. The Allroad jacket has CE certification to the Pr En 17092-3:2017 Class AA standard, and it comes with ForceTech removable protectors in the shoulders and elbows which are CE Level 2 certified to the EN 1621-1:2012 standard. There are 3M® Scotchlite® reflectors for excellent nighttime visibility and there’s a jacket-to-pant zipper connection for additional safety. In order to ensure that the jacket can be tailored to fit perfectly, it has the SPIDI integrated adjustment Ergofit System, with an adjustable E.S.T. fastener on the collar.

The InsideOut H2Out Membrane

The jacket also features the innovative InsideOut System, a waterproof triple-layer H2Out 10K/10K membrane that can be worn inside the jacket during a light rain, or outside in the case of thunderstorms and heavy downpours. When riding for hours in heavy rain, it is recommended to wear the membrane in Outside mode – keeping you lighter and drier. The membrane has adjustable “gaiters” to adapt for InsideOUT-specific use.

Spidi Track Wind Pro Suit

SPIDI experiences in MotoGP and World Superbike series generated a perfect mix of performance and design: the Track Wind Pro Tracksuit.

With many innovation tested by MotoGP riders such as Scott Redding and Hector Barbera, these leathers are made of 1.2/1.3mm thick cowhide tanned in the Vicenza’s leather district, with advanced fitting thanks to its balance of stretch materials, neoprene inserts and Multitech/Biomechanic/Forcetech protectors, all developed in Spidi’s Safety Lab.

Track Wind Pro comes with a back protector-ready pocket and chest protector-ready front attachments.

Spidi – Bolide

The Spidi Bolide is a motorcycle jacket for sportbike riders who want the best possible protection options without wearing a full leather race suit.

The Bolide is a CE prEN 17092-2:2017 Class AAA certified jacket with external Warrior shields on the shoulders and elbows, removable internal Warrior Lite Protectors (EN 1621-1 Level 1) in the shoulders, and Force-Tech protectors (EN 1621-1:2012) in the elbows.
For additional protection, there is an internal arrangement for either a level 1 or 2 Warrior back protector, and a Warrior chest protector, both sold separately. The primary chassis of the Spidi Bolide is 1.1 to 1.2 mm thick cowhide leather with high-tenacity elastic Flex Tenax Nylon 6.6 flex sections.

Both zip and clips are provided for attaching pants, and there’s an adjustable waist fastening to ensure a perfectly tailored fit.

SPIDI was born in the most important district for leather processing. Tanning in the Chiampo Valley boasts roots in the fifteenth century when farmers themselves began to tan and sell leathers. The beginning of the industrial process of tanning can be dated to the ‘800s; it’s towards the middle of the twentieth century that the art of tanning invades the whole valley, thanks to the electromechanical development, and counting now over 700 factories in that industry.

Almost six hundred years of tradition, innovation and research allow SPIDI using the finest leathers from around the world, wisely worked in this district in northern Italy, where tanning handed down for generations and where the common goal is to continue to refine the tanning process of leathers that will then be used in a variety of categories, such automotive, footwear, clothing and more. Spidi benefited from this amazing know-how to create the quality standards of leathers used in the motorcycle world.
The proximity to the world’s most important tanning district allowed to select the leathers and to define all the stages to reach the highest quality products that exceed standards.
