Pricing and availability of 25th anniversary Hayabusa announced

Suzuki has announced that the special edition Hayabusa, launched to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the legendary hyperbike, is available in dealerships now with an OTR price of £18,599, and will also be available on 2.9% APR finance on PCP or HP.

The anniversary edition, launched to celebrate a quarter of a century of an icon after the first generation Hayabusa changed the game in 1999, comes in a head-turning glass blaze orange and glass sparkle black, and with a list of standout features including: special anniversary logo on the fuel tank and laser-etched into the twin exhaust mufflers, gold-anodised brake disc carriers and drive chain adjusters, raised Suzuki lettering on the fuel tank, a standard-fit single seat cowl in addition to the pillion pad, and new gloss black trim.

Underneath, it packs the same torque-rich, 1340cc inline four-cylinder engine as the current third generation Hayabusa, which produces more cumulative power and torque than any of its predecessors. Thanks to a heavily redesigned engine for 2021 – with new pistons, conrods, crankshaft and camshaft – the latest iteration of the Hayabusa is the fastest-launching one yet.

Helping that cause is a comprehensive suite of electronics that features three launch control settings, 10 traction control modes, and three power modes, plus lean-angle sensitive ABS, three levels of engine brake settings, cruise control, hill hold, low RPM assist, and easy-start.

Launched in 1999 the original Hayabusa stunned the motorcycling world and gave birth to the hypersport category. Taking its name from the Japanese for Peregrine falcon – famed for feasting on blackbirds – it delivered unrivalled performance, was immediately recognisable thanks to its now-iconic silhouette, and went on to develop cult status.

The launch of the second generation Hayabusa in 2008 boosted capacity and power, while a mid-term update in 2013 added Brembo monobloc calipers and ABS. The third generation was launched in 2021, after 200,000 units had been sold worldwide.

Suzuki GB head of motorcycles, Jonathan Martin, said, “There aren’t many – if any – motorcycles that can boast the same sort of history, legacy, and standing that the Hayabusa does. It’s not hyperbole to call it an icon, or game-changing, or legendary; it is all of those things. It really is in a class of one, and moving into its 25th year, customers can own a piece of history with this special edition, and to make it even easier to do so we’re pleased to be able to launch it with a low finance rate of 2.9% on PCP or HP.”

Your Suzuki your way with new 2, 3, 4 offer

Suzuki has launched a new offer that will give customers greater flexibility to build a deal that best suits their circumstances, allowing them to choose from either a PCP or HP deal over two, three, or four years, with an APR to match and just a £500 minimum deposit required.

The offer is available across almost all of Suzuki’s on-road range until the end of September 2023, while there’s an added sweetener of a £500 test ride bonus on the V-Strom and SV650 twins.

The range-topping Hayabusa – with its stomping 1340cc inline four-cylinder engine and comprehensive suite of electronics, that covers lean angle-sensitive traction control and ABS, a bi-directional quickshifter, power modes, cruise control, and launch control – is included, as is the GSX-S1000GT; the best-selling sports tourer of 2022.

Also included is the GSX-S1000, which shares the same 152PS, superbike-derived motor as the GSX-S1000GT, along with the new-for-2023 V-Strom 1050DE and the updated V-Strom 1050.

Sticking with the V-Strom stable, the V-Strom 650 and V-Strom 650XT feature, alongside both the SV650 and its café racer-inspired sibling, the SV650X, buyers of which can also benefit from an extra £500 off, simply by taking a test ride.

Suzuki GB head of motorcycles, Jonathan Martin, commented, “We know everyone has different needs and requirements when it comes to buying a new bike, and so we’ve set out to make it so customers can really tailor their finance deal to best suit their circumstances, with choice of term and interest rate, and whether it’s a PCP or HP agreement.”

As part of the 2, 3, 4 offer, the iconic Hayabusa is available for £149 per month on a three-year PCP deal, with a £4,424.14 deposit. Over the same period the GSX-S1000 can be had for just £99 per month after a  £2,439.95 deposit.

Suzuki’s Hayabusa leads a summer sales campaign that sees seven of the brand’s key models available on a 2.9%, low-rate finance offer, available over three years with no deposit required. Customers can choose from a PCP or Hire Purchase agreement.

Suzuki introduces white Hayabusa for 2022

Suzuki has added a white version of the new Hayabusa to its range for 2022, which joins the existing black and orange and matt silver and red versions launched this year.

With an RRP of £16,499, the third generation of the legendary hyperbike gets Suzuki’s most advanced suite of electronics ever, with 10 lean angle-sensitive traction control modes, lean angle-sensitive ABS, three power modes, a bi-directional quickshifter, cruise control and a speed limiter, and three stages of launch control, all controlled via easy-to-use switchgear and managed through a neat colour TFT display, nestled between two analogue dials reminiscent of the original Hayabusa’s clocks.

A heavily redesigned engine – including new pistons, conrods, crankshaft, and camshaft – specifically aimed at producing enhanced performance in the lower to mid rev ranges making it the fastest-launching Hayabusa yet with more cumulative torque than its predecessor. All this is wrapped in sharper, more angular bodywork that nonetheless is immediately recognisable as Hayabusa, taking heavy design cues from the original.

The new pearl brilliant white Hayabusa, with its chrome trim and subtle metallic matt stellar blue accents, is available in dealerships now.

Akrapovič also supplies its exhaust-making expertise to Suzuki’s MotoGP team.

Akrapovič Takes Flight with the New Suzuki GSX1300R Hayabusa

Akrapovič has unveiled its brand-new exhaust system for the latest version of the Suzuki GSX1300R Hayabusa – a bike named after the peregrine falcon and a legend among superbikes.

The Slip-On Line (Titanium) exhaust system with its laser-engraved Akrapovič logo is a unique design that integrates seamlessly within the lines of the bike’s futuristic appearance. Its aerodynamic shape was an important requirement for the Akrapovič R&D department because the Hayabusa model has one of the highest top speeds among motorcycles, and the integration of the exhaust needs to follow the bike’s aero for optimum efficiency.

Constructed from a black-coated lightweight titanium outer sleeve on the mufflers and high-grade stainless steel link pipes, along with carbon-fibre end caps and carbon-fibre heat shields, everything about this exhaust is designed to save weight. It is 31.6% lighter than standard stock and perfectly allied to the bike’s high-speed performance and aerodynamic credentials.

With the Slip-On Line (Titanium), Akrapovič’s engineers have produced an exhaust system with great throttle response to give the rider the feel of the bike’s engine and performance, while also adding 1.2 kW (1.6 hp) at 8,700 rpm and 1.9 Nm of torque at 8,400 rpm when tested on the Akrapovič dyno against a Hayabusa with a standard stock exhaust. The whole system is harmonized with a vivid, sporty, and deep soundtrack to add another dimension to the exhaust and further thrill the senses.

Meeting Euro 5 EC/ECE type approval due to a catalytic converter within each muffler, the exhaust is a simple plug-and-play product with no need for remapping. The Slip-On Line (Titanium) is a performance exhaust that will be right at home on one of the world’s fastest motorcycles.
