Test ride a GSX-R1000R at Suzuki All-Star Silverstone Track Day
Suzuki’s All-Star track day makes its return to Silverstone in 2018, the annual event again taking place on the prestigious Grand Prix circuit with a fleet of GSX-R1000R test ride machines available and a host of Suzuki racers and legends set to join in the fun on July 17.
Participants will be joined on the day by the Buildbase Suzuki British Superbike team, which will bring along its pit setup, race bikes, and riders Bradley Ray, Richard Cooper, and Billy McConnell – all three of who will take to the track and be on hand to offer expert tuition and advice. They will also be joined by Motovudu’s on-track instruction guru and 500 Grand Prix race winner Simon Crafar, Suzuki legend and three-time British Superbike champion John Reynolds, as well as former racer and current TV commentator and track day instructor James Whitham.
The Japanese brand will also provide a fleet of GSX-R1000Rs that will be available for attendees to take for on-track test rides at no extra cost. Test rides will last for one session, and will give participants the chance to experience the bike’s MotoGP-derived technology, including its clever variable valve timing system that boosts both peak power and torque, as well as its 10-stage and IMU managed traction control system and Showa Balance Free suspension.
The popular event will run out of the Wing paddock and pit lane, with participants able to book into one of three different groups on the day based on their ability. Those who take part will also get a Suzuki goody bag that will include a celebratory t-shirt and stickers.
Suzuki GB marketing manager, Rob Cooper, said, “We are delighted to return to Silverstone for another year of our All-Star track day. It’s a brilliant circuit, which we’ve been able to call home over the last half a dozen years, and it’s also a fantastic opportunity for us get out on track with our customers and just spend some time in a relaxed environment doing what we all enjoy doing. It also allows us all to share the track with people like Bradley Ray and Simon Crafar; people that do this for a living, and hopefully we can all benefit from their experience and get some hints and tips from the professionals.”
Spaces on the Suzuki’s 2018 All-Star Track Day will cost £209 per person and can be booked here
