Warranty Solutions Group (Wsg) Expands Its Footprint In The Two-Wheel MarketWarranty Solutions Group (WSG) reveals real-world motorcycle repair costs as the company expands its footprint in the two-wheel market.

Warranty Solutions Group (WSG), one of the UK’s fastest-growing warranty and aftercare providers, has released new insight into the most common and most expensive motorcycle repairs affecting UK riders, based on hundreds of live claims processed between January – December 2025.

The findings highlight the true cost of keeping modern motorcycles on the road, with electrical faults, suspension failures and high-value engine-related repairs dominating across brands including Honda, Kawasaki, Triumph, Yamaha and Harley-Davidson.

WSG’s latest claims insights show clear patterns across real-world motorcycling. Electrical components continue to be a leading cause of breakdowns, with batteries, rectifiers and starter motors appearing frequently, reflecting the growing complexity of modern motorcycle electronics. Suspension-related failures, such as leaking fork seals and shock absorber issues, also remain common and increasingly costly, with several of the highest-value claims involving suspension rebuilds or replacements.

Engine-adjacent repairs, particularly ECU-related faults, appear repeatedly across the most expensive claims and often exceed £1,500, demonstrating the financial impact riders face when core systems fail. Premium manufacturers such as Honda, Kawasaki and Triumph dominate the upper tier of high-value claims, illustrating that advanced engineering does not necessarily translate into lower repair costs.

Beyond the headline failures, WSG’s wider dataset also shows a sharp rise in faults linked to modern electronics and rider-assist systems. As more bikes adopt advanced dashboards, integrated ABS systems, ride-by-wire throttles and multi-mode ECUs, diagnostic complexity is increasing, and so are labour hours.

Many of these claims involve multi-component repairs, such as ABS module replacements paired with recalibration or ECU faults requiring extensive electrical tracing. These system-linked issues push total repair costs higher even when individual parts are not the most expensive items, highlighting how interconnected modern motorcycle technology has become and why riders increasingly benefit from comprehensive protection.

Steph Newbery, Group Director, Warranty Solutions Group, comments: “WSG’s latest motorcycle claims data shows that it’s the everyday parts that catch riders out most often, batteries, fork seals, sender units and electrical regulators. These aren’t dramatic blow-outs but the essential components that keep a bike moving. As parts and labour costs continue to increase across the industry, the financial shock of even routine failures can be significant.

“Our high-value claims highlight the other end of the spectrum: shock absorbers at over £2,000, ABS modules at £1,500 and engine-related work pushing beyond £1,600. Modern motorcycles are more capable than ever, but also more complex, and that means the cost of getting back on the road has never been higher. This data reinforces why riders benefit so greatly from comprehensive, transparent warranty cover.”

WSG Strengthens Motorcycle Presence with New Buell Partnership
WSG has expanded its footprint in the motorcycle sector through a major collaboration with Buell Motorcycles and UK importer Rainbow Moto. As Buell returns to the UK after a 15-year absence, WSG will provide Platinum Cover for Years 2 and 3 on all new bikes, extending the manufacturer warranty and giving every customer three years of protection as standard. The partnership supports Buell’s growing UK dealer network and reinforces WSG’s long-term commitment to premium motorcycle coverage.
