For every day and every ride. Introducing the NEW Triumph Tiger Sport

The new 2016 Triumph Tiger Sport is designed to excel at every aspect of your motorcycling personality – from commuting to scratching to touring and more! Taking versatility to a new level, the new Tiger Sport features a host of developments including a next generation 1050cc triple engine, a suite of rider-focused technology and enhanced comfort and capability. Designed to tackle every journey, from a trip to the office to a lap of your favourite Sunday afternoon ride, the new Tiger Sport isn’t just an everyday motorcycle – it’s a motorcycle you will want to ride every day.

Superior drive and control
The latest evolution of the Tiger Sport centres around an iconic 1050cc triple engine. Featuring a multitude of developments to optimise power delivery, which include a completely revised combustion chamber, this new generation powerplant delivers waves of immediate torque. Instant throttle response, thanks to a new ride-by-wire throttle system, allows the rider to make maximum use of the triple engine’s signature drive in any situation from highway cruising to cross-town commuting. The new, freer flowing exhaust not only sounds richer but also contributes to improved fuel economy.

Technology for the ride
The introduction of a new ECU and ride-by-wire throttle system opens up the new Tiger Sport to a host of rider-focused technology. This means the new Tiger Sport gives an instant response to rider input, with seamless power and a wall of torque immediately on hand. Added to this are a choice of rider modes, enabling the rider to select the throttle response and traction control to suit the conditions. Available modes are Rain, Road and Sport, tailoring each system to optimise the bike’s performance and control. The Sport mode allows the rider to explore the maximum character and punch of the triple engine while Rain softens and reduces overall power delivery. Cruise control completes the suite of original equipment rider aids while an all-new instrument panel, including two trip computers and a live fuel gauge gives clear access to all the information a rider requires, with the benefit of simple navigation through the displays.

Reduce the strain of riding
A slip-assist clutch eases the strain of both city commutes and long-distance adventure by reducing the effort required for each operation, thus contributing to reduced rider fatigue. The new clutch system is coupled to a slick six-speed gearbox to allow the rider to make maximum use of the available power whilst providing a comfortable ratio for top gear long distance cruising.

Style that performs
Restyled and with all new livery available in subtle matt black – with neon yellow detailing – or striking aluminium silver with red details, the Tiger Sport makes a stylish statement for every-day, every-journey motorcycling. The Tiger Sport’s single sided swingarm gives a clean finish while completing the new look are revised engine covers, new mirrors and a billet machined rear wheel spindle finisher. Rider comfort reaches a new level of sophistication too – with restyled, grippier footpegs, a tinted, adjustable screen and handguards as standard. The new screen offers superior wind protection with innovative ‘screen aero diffusers’ deflecting the air away from the rider and passenger without compromising the sporty stance, while the single handed operation makes adjustment easy.

With a huge fan base worldwide, thanks to its great handling, excellent rider and pillion ergonomics and a large load-carrying ability, we’ve built on these foundations to make the new Tiger Sport better in every way for the motorcyclist who wants a single bike that absolutely does it all.

The new Tiger Sport will be unveiled at the MCN London ExCel Motorcycle Show (12 – 14 Feb).

Suzuki Adds Bandit 600 to Race Parts Programme

Suzuki has announced the addition of the GSF600 Bandit to its popular Race Parts Programme, following the launch of the Suzuki Bandit Challenge series that will run with Formula Prostocks Racing in 2016.

The series, which is open to Mk1 and Mk2 600cc Bandits, is aimed at providing a competitive class of racing, while keeping costs to a minimum with reliable machinery and by limiting modifications.

To help make the class even more affordable Suzuki is offering ACU licence holders discounts of up to 58% on Bandit 600 parts, from complete gasket sets to carburettor assemblies, replacement crankcases to con-rods and pistons, and even replacement frames.

Suzuki GB’s Tim Davies said, “Here at Suzuki we love racing and it’s an important part of our brand heritage. The Formula Prostocks Suzuki Bandit Challenge is going to be a really great series, with close and competitive racing on similar machinery, all while keeping costs down by using a bike that’s developed a reputation for being incredibly reliable. However, we know going racing does cost money, which is why we’re delighted to offer ACU licence holders discounts on parts to keep their bikes on the track and keep them competitive.”

Keith Chambers from Formula Prostocks Racing, added, “Myself and a few friends were discussing how we started racing 15 or 20 years ago, and we all started in basic, affordable, production classes, where you would buy a road bike, strip off the lights, put on some decent tyres and go racing. And that’s how the Suzuki Bandit Challenge came to be. Although we all know that racing isn’t cheap, with the Bandit’s bulletproof motor, the fact that they sold so well and there are so many around, and Suzuki GB’s parts support, you can get a competitive race bike put together for relatively little money.”

The Bandit 600 joins the full stable of GSX-R machinery that is also included on Suzuki’s Race Parts Programme, as well as the SV650 and SFV650.

Weise Clifton And Docklands Vintage Style Jackets

New to the Weise® range for 2016, the Clifton and Docklands jackets are made for riders who want vintage style combined with modern safety and comfort.

With a tough, 500-Denier outer shell and CE-approved armour at the shoulders, elbows and back, the Clifton Textile Jacket offers significantly more impact resistance than the ‘traditional’ wax cotton riding jackets that inspired it.

It’s also designed to do a much better job at protecting the wearer from the elements, with a waterproof, windproof and breathable drop liner and a removable fleece inner, too.

A fully adjustable waist belt, plus a buckle fastened-collar, seal out the elements and offer plenty of adjustment for a snug fit. A sliding fabric cover built into the waist belt prevents the buckle from scratching fuel tanks/bodywork.

There are plenty of pockets – four generously-sized ones on the outside, as well as two hand-warmer pockets and internal ones. Branding is kept to a minimum – just a subtle, embroidered Weise logo on the left-hand waist pocket. The classic look is finished off with brass-coloured poppers on the storm flap, pockets and cuffs, and stitch detailing on each shoulder.

The Clifton comes in men’s sizes S-5XL at a very retro retail price of just £159.99.

The Docklands Leather Jacket also offers the best of both worlds, being made from tough yet flexible natural-milled cowhide with CE-approved armour throughout, including the back. The leather has an antique brown finish with padded detailing on the shoulders and elbows plus brass fasteners for an authentic vintage look.

With zipped pockets on the chest and inside, the Docklands provides practical carrying space and there are two hand warmer pockets as well. Quality YKK® vintage-styled zips are used throughout, including on the cuffs, which are secured with popper fastenings. The collar is fastened by a traditional buckle, which is adjustable to allow for a neck warmer or scarf, and has a soft lining for added comfort.

The Docklands has a retail price tag of just £199.99 and is available in sizes S-3XL.

Suzuki GSX-R1000 Concept Headlines London Show

The new GSX-R1000 concept model will take centre stage at this year’s MCN London Motorcycle Show, which takes place at the ExCeL centre from 12-14 February.

First unveiled last year at EICMA in Milan, the new GSX-R1000 is all-new. Using technology taken directly from Suzuki’s GSX-RR MotoGP machine, a new engine features variable valve timing, while the new GSX-R also benefits from ABS, traction control, quickshifter, launch control, and multiple power modes. Showa Balance Free suspension is fitted to a new, lightweight frame.

Also unveiled in Milan and on display at the London Motorcycle Show is the new SV650, which is lighter and more powerful than Suzuki’s previous offering in the mid-capacity naked market. The new SV is sportier with sharper steering and a punchy, V-twin engine packed with character. The new VanVan 200 will also feature on Suzuki’s stand.

The full stable of GSX-R machinery for 2016 will be displayed in a mixture of the MotoGP livery and the commemorative 30th anniversary paint scheme, plus the original GSX-R750F that was restored over the course of Motorcycle Live will also be on display. Other models on display from Suzuki’s 2016 model range include the GSX-S1000 and GSX-S1000F, GSR750, V-Strom 1000 and V-Strom 650XT, Burgman 650 Executive, Hayabusa, Address 110, Inazuma 250F, and the Intruder M1800RBZ.

The Team Classic Suzuki XR69, which is sponsored by Suzuki GB’s Vintage Parts Programme and will be raced by both Michael Dunlop and Lee Johnston at this year’s Classic TT on the Isle of Man, will also feature on the Suzuki stand for the duration of the show.

Suzuki GB Marketing Manager, Rob Cooper, said, “The MCN London Motorcycle Show is always a great opener to our events calendar for the year ahead. The show gets better every year and we’re delighted to be back in 2016. We’re very excited to be bringing the new GSX-R1000 with us to the event this year, after a lot of popularity at Motorcycle Live last year, as well as the new SV650 and VanVan 200 that will join our range this year. The original GSX-R750 and XR69 race bike also add some extra attractions to our stand and really highlight our heritage in inline-four cylinder sports bikes. We’re looking forward to welcoming visitors onto our stand.”

Suzuki can be found on stand M90, and will have information available for all of the bikes on display, as well as on the 0% APR representative finance offer currently available. Suzuki’s current campaign covers almost all of its range, with agreements available for 24 to 48 month terms, depending on the model chosen.

The London Motorcycle Show runs from 12-14 February, 2016, at the ExCeL in London. For further show information visit http://www.mcnmotorcycleshow.com

AGV Limited Edition – Mind the Sharks

Valentino Rossi arrived at his home track of Misano Adriatico leading the standings. During qualifying, the “Dottore” wore a special edition version of his AGV Pista GP helmet which featured a marine theme reminiscent of the Adriatic Riviera.

Aldo Drudi who has been designing Rossi’s helmets for many years commented: “Marine setting and cartoon style this time for Vale’s helmet. The little fish is Valentino, he’s not afraid but is doing his best to run away. (…) The idea is to show a Valentino who is fully committed but under a lot of pressure”. So, the expression of the face of the little fish Valentino isn’t one of fear or panic, just concentration and determination to get away.

“Mind the sharks!”: obviously refers to his situation at that time in the 2015 MotoGP Championship standings. In the cartoon, Valentino sees himself as the little yellow fish, complete with earring and determined look, being chased by “sharks” who symbolise his rivals and the pressure he’s under in the Championship, but more importantly, he also shows he has no intention of letting them catch him in front of “his” public.

A message on the left of the helmet says “via, via, via!” (go, go, go!) in case of approaching rivals, while the back of the helmet bears his classic battle number 46 and a big 58. The back also features his lucky pet dogs Cesare and Cecilia along with his cat Rossano who, for the occasion are also wearing masks and snorkels to tackle the swim in the Adriatic alongside the Dottore.

A Corsa replica model will be available from June and will cost £699 SRP . Orders are now being taken at your usual AGV retailer. This limited edition will reproduce the graphics on Valentino’s helmet except for other sponsor’s logos and visor components and accessories.

The Corsa originates from AGV Extreme Standards Helmets, an innovative process that revolutionises the helmet design method to measurably and demonstratively improve impact protection, compact design, field of vision, aerodynamics, lightweight, ventilation and ergonomics. AGV have set higher safety standards for their helmets. The AGV Extreme Standards method sets homologation protection standards that are even higher than the legally required ones and checks the results with virtual and laboratory tests.

*Please note that the MONSTER logos will not be on the final design of the helmet*

KTM Capitalises On London Show

New Street range from KTM hits the London Motorcycle Show and 2016 prices announcement

KTM will be in attendance at the MCN London Motorcycle Show on February 12-14 with its latest range of Street models.

In 2016, Europe’s biggest motorcycle manufacturer boasts its most complete and diverse road-going model range to date and these distinctive machines will be on display at the MCN London Motorcycle Show held at the Docklands-based ExCeL exhibition centre for riders to discover more in detail about them.

Beyond simply entering the sports tourer class this year, the new 1290 SUPER DUKE GT (£15,999) will redefine this segment with its incredible levels of performance matched to a comprehensive range of equipment, including cutting-edge riding assistance and safety systems – all fitted as standard. Thanks to intelligent and innovative solutions from semi-active suspension to a quick-shifter, the GT masters the seemingly impossible split between passionate fun riding, comfortable long distance travelling and breath-taking track day use.

The infamous 1290 SUPER DUKE R also shifts up another gear in 2016 with the release of the Special Edition (£14,999). Boasting a unique paint design and dripping with the most desirable options from the official KTM PowerParts collection, including a titanium Akrapovič exhaust, machined anodised triple clamps and wave brake discs, the 1,301cc V-twin ‘Super Naked’ looks sharper than ever for only £1000 more than the standard version.

Also new for this year is the 690 DUKE (£7,699) and DUKE R (£8,999). The world’s most powerful single-cylinder bikes feature new levels of refinement and electronic rider aids. With an engine that is 55% changed from the previous incarnation, the motor offers improved levels of power and torque over a larger powerband delivered with smoothness usually reserved for multi-cylinders. Adding to its class-leading low weight and low running costs, the Duke features leading components by Brembo and WP to be equally at home commuting through town as it is slaying corners on favourite roads or tracks.

Ranging from £10,999 to £16,199, the four-strong Adventure range of 1050 ADVENTURE, 1190 ADVENTURE, 1190 ADVENTURE R and 1290 SUPER ADVENTURE continues to win awards and cement their reputation as true travel enduro machines with the ability to take riders on unforgettable journeys – no matter the distance or road. Despite only a 251cc difference between these models, there’s a huge diversity of performance and specification to match the intended use, rider and affordability.

For young, new or returning riders looking for machines with exhilarating performance, exciting looks and high-end components matched to lightweight and confidence-building chassis, look no further than the 125 DUKE, RC 125, 390 DUKE and RC 390. Designed and developed in Austria and made to the same demanding READY TO RACE commitment as all of its models, these bikes have the ability to put a smile on the face of any rider, no matter their age or experience. Better still, the class-defining RC 125 now costs £300 less than in 2015.

Also at the show, Croydon-based KTM dealer, InMoto, will operate a retail area of the main KTM stand selling clothing and accessory items from the eclectic official PowerWear range.

Billed as ‘the biggest and best motorcycle show in the capital’, the London Motorcycle Show also offers visitors a huge array of other attractions and live action entertainment for a great day out. Discounted tickets are now on sale, with adult advance tickets at £17 available online until midnight 08.02.16. Senior and student tickets cost £15. SW Motech have introduced some of the first model-specific accessories for Honda’s much-anticipated CRF1000L, so owners can start to tailor their big Twin to their needs.

CARRYING CAPACITY
A spacious and versatile luggage system is a priority for any traveller, and now Africa Twin owners can have all their kit close to hand with the Quick Lock EVO Tankbag system and Bags Connection Tail Packs.

With a comprehensive range of bags, and the unique click-on-ride-off tank ring system, Quick Lock EVO Tankbags give quick and easy access to travel documents, maps, mobile phones and other essentials. They come in a variety of styles and capacities, so the rider can choose what’s right for the journey:

Expandable from 2.5-5L and with a cable port and rain cover, the Micro Tank Bag (£56.32) is the perfect solution for short hops.

The Daypack (£80.08) holds between 5-9L of kit, perfect for the longer rides and when larger items like a rain suit need to be close to hand. It also has rain covers, cable ports and carry handles for use off the bike.

For the real explorers, the GS Tank Bag (£136.39) carries up to 22L when fully expanded. It has three outside pockets and inner compartments to keep everything organised, as well as a rain cover, shoulder straps, cable ports and much more

EVO tank rings have a slim design, so all bags sit closer to the tank, and an improved four-point mounting, so they’re held securely and can be clipped on and off in seconds. Purchased separately from the bags, the EVO ring adaptor for the Africa Twin costs £24.64.

For those needing additional carrying capacity, there’s also a complete range of Tail Packs suitable for the Honda; capacities range from 13-90 litres and all are made from tough 1680 Ballistic Nylon, with secure and stable four-point attachment. Compression straps, expanding sections and waterproof inner bags and zips also feature.

SPIDI – Tank

Tank motorcycle jacket is a mix of tradition and innovation that expertly combines style with functionality; the name comes from the jackets used inside of the allied tanks, from which it takes the concept and the short cut.

To fit perfectly with the motorcycle use, were then introduced all the concepts of SPIDI Motorsport Lifestyle, blending ergonomics, protectiveness and style. For this reason, prime quality full Italian cowhide has been carefully selected by SPIDI’s artisans, whom have then applied a peculiar wax treatment so to make this product really unique.

“This is our place. Here we can be free. We are the one in power. This is it, this is what we ride for.”
Wearing the Tank jacket is indeed not just a simple pleasure, but a real discovery of an ancient world, made of sensations, touch and scents; those same sensations of a masterfully tailored cloth, the same touch of a fine felt liner and the same scents of a naturally tanned cowhide.

Nonetheless, Tank jacket is equipped with top-notch EN1621-1 certified Forcetech and Multitech protectors on shoulders and elbows and comes ready to be equipped with SPIDI’s EN1621-2 Lev.1 and Lev.2 Warrior back protectors.
