MV Agusta Goes Electric And Extends Its Two-Wheels Concept

MV Agusta Goes Electric And Extends Its Two-Wheels Concept by launching exclusive lightweight e-vehicles, in pure MV Agusta style.

MV Agusta Motor S.p.A. is announcing its upcoming entry into the electric mobility market with a range of lightweight e-vehicles bearing its iconic wings and gearwheel logo. A long awaited brand extension that leverages MV Agusta’s growing brand equity in the urban mobility segment. With this move, the brand from Schiranna is directly targeting the untapped market of sophisticated, discerning urban dwellers for whom moving around the city on a sports motorcycle is not the most practical option. MV Agusta e-mobility light vehicles will fill the gap and meet the need for a fast, stylish and eco-friendly way to roam the metropolis.

E-bicycles will be launched first, soon to be followed by kick scooters. MV Agusta chose the name AMO, Italian for “I love”, for this first e-bikes series. It takes after the company’s passion for the two wheels world. There will be two models in the series, the RR and the RC, both featuring a 250W silent Mahle engine with assisted speed of up to 25km/h, a 250Wh Panasonic battery providing 75km autonomy on a single charge, and premium quality components such as the Pirelli tyres, the Magura disc brakes and the Gates Carbon Drive belt. At just 15.5 kg, AMO bicycles are lightweight and inconspicuous, ideal for urban commutes or leisure trips.

The elegant RR version will come in a choice of two liveries, one yellow and black, the other red and black, while the limited edition RC will be offered in the classic red, white and black Reparto Corse livery.

The newcomers in the MV Agusta family will be designed and engineered in Italy, following the brand’s tradition of impeccable craftsmanship, using the latest technology and advanced, premium materials. Partnerships have been developed with established manufacturers for kick-scooters, while e-bicycles will be entirely assembled in-house. Both product series will be available online at www.mvagusta.com in the e-mobility section as well as through MV Agusta’s traditional sales network. External partners will also be involved to boost launch and distribution.

The development of a strong, scalable online platform for the brand’s e-mobility vehicles is an important part of MV Agusta’s strategy for the future of this segment. The plan includes a dedicated online space to learn about the products, an online store and in general a robust ecosystem where clients can order e-products, and buy or return parts.

Timur Sardarov, CEO of MV Agusta Motor S.p.A., commented: “Our world is moving fast, society is evolving at a cadence the pandemic and the new-normal have dramatically accelerated. The motorcycle industry has come to form part of a single, larger market of lightweight mobility that encompasses all two-wheel vehicles. There is a growing need for affordable, light and eco-friendly mobility solutions, especially in large, busy urban contexts. An entire segment, almost untouched. We realised the time was right for us to unlock the full potential of what the MV Agusta brand stands for. Speed, quality of engineering and authentic Italian design are values that resonate with urban dwellers and bikers alike. I am confident this move to diversify our product portfolio with an exciting and different product range will be well received by the markets and bring us the expected returns.”

Australian Tech Company Stealth Electric Bikes Announces New Business Plan

Australian tech company  announces new business plan supported by new capital and partnership with C-Creative, leader in industrial and automotive design.

Stealth Electric Bikes, the tech company founded in 2008 by Australian engineer John Karambalis, a pioneer in the field of e-mobility for more than a decade, is preparing to launch a new range of products focused on urban mobility and outdoor, civilian, and military products.

As part of a four-year strategic plan, Stealth has made a significant capital increase, and bought in a new shareholder, C-Creative. C-Creative was founded by Giovanni Castiglioni, one of the main players in the world of two-wheels.

To date, the Australian company has focused on the production and marketing of off-road products for civil and military use. Its products, a concentration of power and technology, have for years been a reference point in their category. Inspired by the famous American bomber plane, the B-52 Bomber, Stealth’s top-of-the-line model, opened a new era in the world of high-powered electric bikes by combining the fun and agility of a mountain bike with the power and freedom of a dirt bike, leaving all competitors in its dust.

With C-Creative joining its shareholders, Stealth announces an ambitious commercial and industrial growth plan.  The plan is based on a new range of high-performance off-road products and L1e-B road-legal products designed for urban commuting.

Two revolutionary 250w city bikes and 250w dual purpose bikes will also go into production in 2022, designed, like the entire range of new products, from the pen of Adrian Morton, world famous designer and creator of the most iconic motorbikes of the last 25 years.

Not only will Stealth focus on bicycles, electric motorbikes, innovative and revolutionary mobility solutions; It will also increase its investment in the military sector, the original inspiration for the company.

For John Karambalis, CEO of Stealth: “This is a key moment for the future of Stealth company and I’m excited to have joined forces with such an experienced team. New developments in the market have prompted us to broaden our horizons and shape the future of the recreation and mobility sectors across the globe. Collectively we will continue to be the industry’s point of reference for engineering and design and set new benchmarks for technological advancement. “.

Giovanni Castiglioni, founder of C-Creative commented: “I have been a Stealth customer for several years now and I have never found anything more exciting in the e-bikes scene. Stealth is a brand that has a unique charm and charisma, and the C-Creative team is thrilled to be able to bring decades of experience is the world of two wheels to the company.”

From retro muscle power to Retro Pure Power

From retro muscle power to Retro Pure Power – that’s the story of AC in 2021- and the new tech is ready to take the two-wheel market by storm too!

The transformation of the iconic AC Cobra racing car with its huge, gas-guzzling ‘classic’ V8 petrol engine to one now powered by an advanced, equally powerful but totally clean electric motor caused shock waves around the heritage auto sector when the news was announced earlier this year.

Now there’s more shock news. Electric power will appear under the saddle of AC’s first ever two-wheeler! The ‘Autokraft by AC’ name badge (recreating a form of branding which was a key part of AC’s history dating back to the 1970’s) will be once again a regular sight on the roads of Britain. The new products, scooters, are being manufactured in the UK.

The scooter is likely to become a new and sort-after fashion icon too. In Britain’s financially constrained, post-COVID economic environment – never mind an urban street network blighted by traffic-coagulating measures designed to force drivers on to public transport – speed, manoeuvrability and, of course, environmental credentials will all be high on the shopping list considerations for new ‘wheels’.

This will mean that Britain will be seeing a surge of interest in electric scooters which are currently illegal for road use but where a planned change in road traffic legislation already announced by the Government will give the green light to sales in the sector.

Priced at a competitive £1,692 including VAT, the new Autokraft scooters are certain to make a strong impact in a market dominated by imports from China.

Alan Lubinsky, the man behind AC’s continued survival over 25 years and the architect of its recent rebirth with exciting new impetus and product ranges, explains why he is confident of success:

“Scooter buyers and riders in the UK need to understand where their product is coming from, the proven automotive standards used in its design and manufacture and the heritage behind our famous brand. Our TR560 scooter has a 24 volt lithium ion battery pack with a built-in charger and its key performance figures are more than a match for other machines in the market. Top speed is 25km/h, estimated range between charges (which take just 4.5 hours from empty) is 50km – and those figures can be further enhanced by selecting an optional higher output battery for just £50.

Its no accident that Autokraft Advanced Technology Ltd is based on land in Hethel, Norfolk once owned by  Lotus and which is forever associated with that company’s glory days in motorsport. (See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AC_Cars).

Alan Lubinsky explains that the car on which rest many of AC’s hopes for sales success in 2021 and beyond, together with those of its loyal and enthusiastic fan base, are focused is the AC Cobra Series 4 electric, a close relation to the well regarded AC Cobra Superblower model which was launched in 1999.

Further details, including how to purchase a scooter online, are available at https://www.autokraft.technology

New ‘Matte Grey’ colour for the e-Scrambler

Ducati e-Scrambler, the trekking e-bike created in collaboration with Thok, is now available in a new ‘Matte Grey’ colour, as well as in the iconic Ducati Scrambler yellow.

The ‘urban ready’ pedal-assisted bike inspired by the ‘Land of Joy’ is presented to the public in the new livery on the occasion of the Italian Bike Festival in Rimini (11-13 September), where it will be accessible for test rides.

Perfect for getting around city traffic and exploring open country roads, the e-Scrambler has an aluminium frame and high-end components. The 250-Watt Shimano Steps E7000 motor with 504 Wh battery and Pirelli Cycl-e GT tyres guarantee this model a great autonomy to cover even the longest routes in agility and total safety.

Riding pleasure and ease of use are guaranteed by the SRAM NX 11-speed gearshift, the Sram 4-piston brakes and a wealth of accessories essential for everyday use such as luggage racks, mudguards, kickstand and signal lights. The supplied telescopic seat post increases comfort, allowing the rider to easily get on and off the saddle and ensuring a secure footing in stops.

The e-Scrambler in the new ‘Matte Grey’ colour is available at Ducati dealers and on the Ducati.com website at a price of €3,699, including VAT and shipping.

Dualways launched its hugely popular Amped A10 e-powered kids balance bike last year and has now expanded the range to include the all-new Amped A16, the first bike of this genre to feature a fully integrated rear hub motor. This new design means that the power is instant, creating less drag, no noise and very low maintenance.

The A16 not only bridges the gap between conventional youth balance bikes and motorcycles, but provides a stepping stone for young wannabe bikers to get a feel for controlling a bigger machine with a choice of two-speed settings; Eco and Boost mode. In Eco, the A16 is limited to 7.5mph. On Boost the bike is limited to 12.5mph.

On the safety front, the A16 is fitted with a rear disc brake to give excellent stopping power with the slightest input from the rider.

Saigon-based Modmo leads the revolution of e-bikes

Modmo, a Saigon-based e-mobility startup, recently launched a powerful electric bicycle, with integrated battery, Bluetooth, GPS and a patented Modular Mounting system called Saigon.

As urban cities are getting more crowded and polluted, statistics have shown a significant growth in the number of people replacing their cars with electric bicycles. Emission- and traffic-free commuting is predicted to be defined by a revolution of two-wheeled electric transport, and the vehicle that leads this revolution will be electric bikes.

With an aim of pioneering the zero-emission two-wheeled electric transport revolution, Modmo is a disruptive e-mobility startup based in Saigon that focuses on design, versatility and superior user experiences through seamless integration of technology.

Modmo was founded by Jack O’Sullivan, a lifelong cyclist who believes cycling is the best way to get from one place to another, who understands the core issues that bicycle commuters often have; sweat, theft & utility. To address these three recurring pain points, Jack developed a concept of electric bicycles that replace cars for urban transport and decided to take a trip to Asia to find the finest bicycle factory. As Jack did not find what he was looking for in China & Taiwan, he decided to take a spur-of-the-moment trip to Vietnam where he met with a world-leading motorbike factory.

Instead of taking a flight home, Jack stayed in Vietnam and began building a team of capable engineers who, within 8 months, turned 3D designs into a manufacturable product called Saigon.

Designed to be the bike that will replace your car, Saigon is the first-ever fully modular bicycle, adding a whole new level of utility to your ride. Saigon stands out from the crowd with its 17.5Ah Panasonic lithium-ion battery allowing up to 200 km of pedal-assisted cycling per charge.

It uses a fully integrated and removable battery paired with a front 250-watt motor to get you from A to B effortlessly without any sweat. Simple on the outside but high-tech inside, Saigon boasts a handlebar display, GPS for location tracking and Bluetooth for function control via the IOS/Android app.

The front and rear modular mounts allow our range of MODs (modular accessories) to easily slide on/off, letting you customise Saigon into something just for you every ride. MODs in production include; child seat, basket, food delivery boxes and a
pannier rack.

About Modmo
Founded in June 2019, Modmo is a Saigon-based e-mobility startup with a focus of creating zero-emission electric bicycles powerful enough to replace cars for traffic-free commuting. Although Modmo was originally founded in Ireland, their products are manufactured by a world-leading factory in Vietnam.

More information about Modmo and their product, Saigon, can be found on their
website, Facebook & Instagram profiles.

Yamaha introduces its lightest drive unit and most practical battery to the 2021 line-up of e-Bike systems.

New PWseries CE drive unit delivers a natural and enjoyable ride as the External Crossover 500 battery combines Yamaha’s high standard reliability with easy-handling design.

As the inventor of the Electrically Power Assisted Cycle (EPAC), Yamaha is at the forefront in the development of innovative new technologies that are helping to make the e-Bike the most significant force in future urban mobility. In order to ensure an even faster and more flexible service to European bicycle manufacturers in a rapidly expanding marketplace, Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd (YMC) in Japan transferred the responsibility for distributing its OEM e-Bike systems to Yamaha Motor Europe (YME) from July 1st, 2020. Ducati and MT Distribution present a new line of folding e-bikes

After the success of the electric scooters, Ducati and MT Distribution, licensee and commercial partner, present three new models of folding bicycles with pedal assistance.

The folding e-bike line, born from the partnership between Ducati and MT Distribution, is designed for those who want to move around the city without compromising on style and comfort and is made up of three models: Urban-E, under the Ducati brand, and SCR -E and SCR-E Sport, dedicated to the Ducati Scrambler world.

As for the scooters, considerable attention has been paid to design in the development of the e-bikes, for which the Centro Stile Ducati was responsible. For the Urban-E model, Ducati designers collaborated with Italdesign, to propose a unique model of its kind, with customized components characterized by an original and distinctive style.

The two folding e-bike models dedicated to the Ducati Scrambler “Land of Joy” are available on the market since July, while the Ducati branded e-bike will be available to buy from October.

SCR-E is one of two pedal-assisted bicycle models made with the Ducati Scrambler brand. The fat wheels 20” x 4” allow riders to travel with full grip even on rough or off-road sections. The 374.4 Wh battery is fully integrated into the frame and, when fully charged, allows to travel up to 70 km. The frame is in aluminium and is equipped with a deluxe handle with easy-folding technology for a simple and quick closure of the vehicle. The rear lights are integrated into the seat post to maintain a clean and attractive aesthetic line. The LCD display is of the latest generation and mounts a twilight sensor for the automatic switching on of the lights and the detection of the external temperature.

SCR-E SPORT is the sportiest evolution of the SCR-E model, also branded Ducati Scrambler. The full suspension model is equipped with a double shock absorber: front fork and rear spring shock integrated in the frame. The single wall alloy wheels and road tyres give the model a refined and sporty appearance. The enhanced 468 Wh battery is fully integrated into the chassis and can travel up to 80 km.

Urban-E , available in black or grey, is built around the special aluminium frame with easy-folding locking system created by the designers of the Centro Stile Ducati in collaboration with colleagues from Italdesign’s Industrial Design division. The handlebar has a fully integrated LCD display in the stem that allows the rider to control all the assistance functions, to check the remaining battery charge and to turn the LED lights integrated in the frame on and off. Designers and developers have worked together to create an e-bike with a clean and linear style. The 378 Wh battery is integrated into the frame and becomes an element of style itself, recalling the motorbike fuel tanks in its typical Ducati red colour and curved shape. The suspension fork, the fat 20″ x 4″ tyres with Kevlar anti-puncture technology mounted on double wall aluminium rims and the rear mudguard, in addition to accentuating the racing style, ensure maximum riding comfort, even on the most irregular of surfaces.

For further information on the purchase and availability of products, please contact MT Distribution, whose contacts can be found on the website www.mtdistribution.it. A selection of e-bike modes will also be available at Ducati dealers and in the Ducati Shop Online.

Ducati builds an exclusive Scrambler Ducati 1100 series for Scuderia Club Italia members

e-Scrambler: the e-bike to move freely and with style

Moving in city traffic and exploring the open country roads in safety, without sacrificing the style and feeling of freedom typical of the Ducati Scrambler world, is possible on an e-Scrambler, the trekking e-bike built by the Borgo Panigale manufacturer in collaboration with Thok.

The e-Scrambler is an “urban ready” e-bike with aluminium frame and high-end components, which is inspired by the design and attitude of the “Land of Joy”. The 250-Watt Shimano Steps E7000 motor with 504 Wh battery and Pirelli Cycl-e GT tyres guarantee this model great autonomy to travel even the longest itineraries in agility and total safety.

Riding pleasure and ease of use are guaranteed by the Sram NX 11-speed gearbox, Sram 4-piston brakes and a complete set of accessories essential for daily use such as luggage racks, mudguards, stand and signal lights.

The low centre of gravity and the geometry of the frame allow the e-Scrambler to offer the same riding sensations as a traditional bike, making it in fact the ideal companion for the city or to enjoy the country roads. The supplied telescopic seat post also increases comfort, allowing the rider to get on and off the saddle easily and guaranteeing safe support during stops.

The e-Scrambler is available at all Ducati dealers and on the Ducati.com website.

Superstrata Debuts World’s First Custom 3D-Printed Unibody Carbon Fiber E-Bicycle

Superstrata, a Silicon Valley-based bicycle brand, has unveiled its flagship product, the world’s first made-to-measure 3D-printed e-bicycle with an impact-resistant unibody carbon fiber frame.

The Superstrata touts a true unibody construction, 3D-printed in a single pass of continuous carbon fiber thermoplastic composite. Unlike other carbon fiber bikes whose frames are glued and bolted together using dozens of individual parts and fabricated from previous-generation thermoset composite materials, the Superstrata frame is constructed without joints or glue for seamless strength. It’s also produced using next-generation thermoplastic materials, making it extremely impact resistant, yet remarkably lightweight.

Superstrata uses an advanced 3D-printing process which allows for an unprecedented level of customization. The frame can be tailored to riders’ heights, weights, arm and leg lengths, riding positions and even preferred stiffness levels. With over 500,000 possible combinations, Superstrata is the most versatile carbon fiber bike ever made.

“This bike was designed to leverage all the benefits of this new manufacturing technology to get the best of both worlds: strength and lightness,” said Bill Stephens, an award-winning bicycle designer and the creative force behind Superstrata.

Two versions will be available: 1) Terra, a bicycle and 2) Ion, an e-bicycle which can be fully charged in two hours, providing for up to a 55-mile range. Both Terra and Ion will feature integrated data and power wiring throughout the frame, enabling a variety of electronic upgrades. Additional options include: different riding styles (racing, street, gravel, or touring), wheel material (metal or carbon fiber), and colorways (light or dark).

“My Olympic race bikes were light, but would crack when pushed too hard or crashed. Having a bike that’s light like other carbon fiber bikes but really tough is a dream come
true,” said Sky Christopherson, two-time former Olympian cyclist and world record holder for the velodrome sprint.

The Superstrata Terra Bicycle will retail for $2,799 / £2,599 and the Ion E-Bicycle for $3,999 / £3699, and the early bird prices are Terra $1,499 / £1,420 and Ion $1,999 / £1,895

Both are available for pre-order now. Shipping begins in December 2020.[wptb id=64599]

Ducati reopens the Museum, combining the visit with new motorcycle or e-bike experiences

On Saturday 4 July, on the same date that Ducati was founded 94 years ago, the Ducati Museum and the Fisica in Moto educational laboratory of the Borgo Panigale factory will reopen their doors to visitors, after the forced stop due to the health emergency.

The reopening will be gradual. Until 30 September the visit to the Ducati Museum and the educational laboratory will be limited to Saturday and Sunday, with the exception of the weeks from 3 to 9 August and from 17 to 23 August, when visits on weekdays will also be possible.

A single ticket will be available for visitors at the special price of € 25, which includes admission to the Museum and a guided tour of the Fisica in Moto Laboratory , a truly unique opportunity to discover the history of the Borgo Panigale motorcycle manufacturer and the laws of physics applied to the world of motors. Visits to the factory remain suspended for safety reasons, but a new virtual tour will be soon available on the Ducati.com website which allows visitors to go inside the production lines.

In line with the safety regulations against the spread of Covid-19, access to the facilities will be allowed for a maximum of 7 people per turn and after booking and purchasing the ticket on the website https://www.ducati.com/ww/en/borgo-panigale-experience. Visits are scheduled every 15 minutes from 9.00 am to 18.00.

For the entire period of stay within the company area it will be necessary to always keep social distancing of at least 1 metre and it is mandatory to wear a surgical mask . In the event that the visitor does not have one, it will be provided by the Museum staff.

In order to ensure greater availability for visitors and avoid gatherings, the maximum duration of the visit is one and a half hours (45 minutes at the Museum and 45 minutes at the Fisica in Moto Laboratory).

New experiences to discover the territory
It will also be possible to combine a visit to the Ducati Museum and the educational laboratory with the new “experiences” that the Ducati Museum staff offers visitors. These are options, in any case related to the visit of the Museum and of Fisica in Moto, which are divided into two types of proposals that aim to discover the history, tradition and beauty of the Emilia-Romagna area of which Ducati is one of the most representative brands. The proposed itineraries can be done in one day, visiting Bologna riding one of the new Ducati e-bikes, accompanied by E-xplora guides certified by the National MTB Academy. Or by motorbike, divided over several days, independently but with the possibility of following an expressly designed itinerary, renting a Ducati to travel in the beauty of the Apennine landscape or experience the Romagna Riviera, reaching it through alternative roads and routes that can be enjoyed on the bike.

Here are the proposals:

1. E-bike: Bologna by E-xplora – a short and a longer tour to visit the city centre of Bologna, its historical monuments and the Bolognese hills on a Ducati Scrambler e-bike in one day. In both tours visitors will be accompanied by an E-xplora certified National MTB Academy guide. The cost of the city centre tour is € 65, with the city centre and Bologna hills tour € 85, Ducati Scrambler e-bike rental and guide included. For those who so desire, there is also an opportunity to have lunch at the Ducati Scrambler Food Factory in Bologna.

2. Motorbike: Mid-Reno and Savena Valley – a perfect route for a motorbike tour, to discover the ancient history of the Bolognese Apennines and its waters along two legendary roads: the “Porrettana” and the “Futa”. From the Ducati Museum, in fact, you can easily take the “Porrettana”, the road between Bologna and Pistoia built in the crucial years of our country, between the wars that brought about the independence and the unification of Italy. To be done independently or by renting a motorcycle at the Ducati Factory Store (price list for motorcycle and clothing rental on the Ducati website).

3. Motorbike: The Stradelli Guelfi. From the Middle Ages to the origins of Romagna motorcycling, from Baracca and Taglioni, to Cervia and Cesenatico, the origins of the Mototemporada Romagnola – the Stradelli Guelfi route represents an intelligent alternative to go to the seaside, avoiding the daily summer traffic heading for the destinations of the Romagna Riviera and retracing the roads that tell the origins of motorcycling in the region. An authentic example of a “slow ride”, the Stradelli cover the stretch of Romagna that arrives at the Riviera of Ravenna, immersed in the colourful countryside. To be done independently or by renting a motorcycle at the Ducati Factory Store (price list for motorcycle and clothing rental on the Ducati website).

To learn more about the stages of the different routes go on the Ducati website. For information and reservations, write directly to the Ducati Museum reception service: accreditamento.visitatori@ducati.com.

The new E-MTB Ducati MIG-RR Limited Edition has already sold-out

Shown to the press during the Ducati World Première 2020, the latest Ducati Ebikes were officially presented to an enthusiastic public at EICMA 2019.

Now, after going on sale just three weeks ago, the most exclusive of the three new Ebikes for 2020, the Ducati MIG-RR Limited Edition, has already sold out. Designed as a “race ready” enduro, built with the very best components and featuring a second battery and relative Evoc E-Ride backpack to carry it, the MIG-RR Limited Edition is Ducati’s top-of-the-range Ebike. Only 50 of these individually numbered bikes have been built. Assembled in Italy, they feature Öhlins suspension, carbon fibre wheels and electronic gear shift, not to mention the exclusive design and unique Ducati Corse graphics.

The new Ducati MIG-RR Limited Edition bikes will be delivered pre-customised, with suspension calibrated as per individual customers’ requests, starting January 2020.

Completing the new 2020 Ebike range are the Ducati MIG-S, an All Mountain model with a real sports feel for those who want agility, performance and fun whatever the terrain, and the E-Scrambler, a Trekking model with high-grade components that’s perfect for city streets or country roads, ideal for freedom lovers who like to get around in style.

Great feedback from EICMA and the sales success of these first few weeks underscore the soundness of the technical decisions that were made. To the delight of enthusiasts, the style, sophistication and performance that characterise every Ducati product have now been carried over into the Ebike world.

While the Ducati MIG-RR Limited Edition may have sold out, the new E-Scrambler and Ducati MIG-S can – like the Ducati MIG-RR that has been part of the range since last year – be ordered or test-ridden at Ducati dealerships throughout Europe or on the website ebike.ducati.com.
