These new airbags are equipped with AIRFLOW CHANNEL technology, a unique and advanced ventilation system that provides maximum cooling for the body. The air flow is guided in and out of the airbag by 3D Mesh channels along the entire back and torso of the lining, inside the airbag. The specific 45° orientation of the 3D Mesh channels and the two central ventilation channels – on the torso on either side of the central zip and in the back in a central position – ensure optimum diffusion of the air flow and regulation of body temperature.

This technology has been developed in competition, directly with IXON MotoGP riders: it is used in the suits worn by Aleix Espargaro, Brad Binder, Miguel Oliveira and Takaaki Nakagami. The result of several years’ work on the track with some of the world’s best riders, AIRFLOW CHANNEL technology is now available to the general public.

The IX-AIRBAG U04 and IX-AIRBAG U05 offer perfect riding sensations thanks to the choice of ultra-light materials, a design that doesn’t restrict movement and a cut that’s very close to the body.

With a leather upper with pull-up finishing – infused with hot oils and wax rather than dyed – the Lady Blend 2 WP boots offer ideal protection against rain and adverse weather conditions thanks to the T-Dry waterproof membrane. The race-derived GP Plus V4 sport Leather Jacket is more than just an evolution of the world-renowned V3, it’s a complete revolution. With a revised silhouette, improved material selection, a new modernised look with refined detailing, and a lighter overall weight, the GP Plus V4 Jacket is the perfect choice. The three main differences new to the GP Plus V4 are the use of A-CS™ Plus stretch material, GP-R Lite extended elbow armour, and a new, modernised graphic. A-CS™ Plus stretch material is Alpinestars composite stretch, which is found in the large side panels of the jacket. Today Alpinestars is launching the new Tech-Air® 3 Leather & Canvas vests at the legendary Daytona Bike Week. Alpinestars’ packable autonomous Airbag System is designed to ideally be worn over a motorcycle jacket, but can be worn under the jacket as well, providing effective and practical protection for V-Twin riders, touring riders, urban city commuters, and weekend warriors who want to ride protected.

The latest addition to the Alpinestars’ Tech-Air® family, Tech-Air® 3 Leather & Canvas Systems enable riders of all disciplines to benefit from a standalone, wearable garment featuring all the protection that Tech-Air® delivers, regardless of the bike they ride, or the style of riding they do.

AI TECHNOLOGY AND CRASH MONITORING PERFORMANCE

The Leather and Canvas Tech-Air® 3 incorporates 6 integrated sensors (1 triaxial accelerometer and 1 triaxial gyroscope) to provide the best crash monitoring performance and active airbag protection in a variety of dynamic street riding scenarios, even when stopped.

An LED display on the front chest indicates the airbag’s operational status. The LED display also incorporates a haptic alert, which vibrates to confirm the System is armed and alerts the rider when the battery is running low.

PROTECTION
Alpinestars’ crash detection triggering algorithm has been developed and refined over millions of kilometers of riding data and thousands of crashes, allowing the system to accurately assess when to deploy the airbag ahead of an impact or other dangerous situations like a lowside or highside crash. In the event the Tech-Air® 3 detects the start of a crash, the System will activate the protective airbag in milliseconds, providing upper body protection, and reducing up to 95% of the impact energy transferred to the rider anywhere the airbag protects, which includes the full chest and back.

SYSTEM OPERATIONAL STATUS
A discretely hidden but easily visible LED display on the front chest indicates the Airbag System’s operational status and incorporates a haptic alert, which vibrates to confirm the System is armed, as well as alerts the rider when the battery is running low. Bluetooth connectivity to a Tech-Air® App allows monitoring of both the System’s operational status and battery status and mapping of your journey via MyRide.

TECH-AIR® APP AND SYSTEM SOFTWARE UPDATES

Alpinestars launches Tech-Air® Off-Road: the most advanced electronic airbag system for ultimate off-road protection.

The world’s first dedicated off-road Airbag System, Tech-Air® Off-Road, is an FIM* homologated Airbag System designed specifically to handle the rigors of fast off-road riding and Rallies as well as provide unrivalled upper body protection on the trails. The System comes with the ability to select 3 separate Riding Modes: ENDURO, RALLY, AND STREET. Each Riding Mode offers an optimized riding algorithm allowing the System to detect an imminent impact and deploy the protective airbag in crash situations.

  • ENDURO Mode is optimized for low and medium-speed trail riding, on unpaved surfaces like gravel, riverbeds, mud, and other natural terrain.
  • The RALLY algorithm is optimized for fast off-road action on any type of terrain, including cross-country, Baja, and Rally Raid competition type use. RALLY Mode is recommended for riding characterized by longer straight sections with multiple bumps and different types of terrain crossed at higher speeds, most typical desert terrain with dunes and sandy ground, gravel, and open countryside settings.

AIRBAG COVERAGE AND RIDER PROTECTION

This means a rider can experience a deployment, get up, and keep on going, knowing there’s another deployment ready to protect them if needed. Dainese Introduces its 2024 D-AIR® Racing Suits: Three New State-of-the-Art Motorcycle Suits

Dainese presents the new MUGELLO 3 D-AIR®, MISANO 3 D-AIR® and MISANO 3 D-AIR® WMN: three state-of-the-art, lightweight, high-performance motorbike suits, equipped with the revolutionary triple-activation D-air® Racing airbag and the pentaxial elastic system, designed to offer the very highest levels of performance and safety on the track, as well as maximizing comfort and ergonomics.

The metal plates (titanium for the Mugello 3, aluminum for the Misano 3 and Misano 3 WMN) on the knees, shoulders and elbows – an iconic technology used across Dainese racing clothing – are designed to facilitate sliding in the event of a fall, minimizing the risk of rolling and maximizing energy dissipation.

Innovation in every detail: the latest evolution of the Replaceable Slider System (RSS) 4.0 now enables the knee slider to be changed without altering the position of the base attached to the Velcro on the suit. This makes it possible to maintain an ideal position at all times, simply replacing the new slider. Innovation also comes to the elbows of the suit, which now offer two different slider positions; these can be easily adjusted with one hand with no need for tools, so riders can always choose their preferred position on the basis of the lean angle achieved.

Thermal comfort is guaranteed through the perforated areas on both sides of the suit, with larger vents at strategic points, for the best performance even on the hottest days at the track.

New additions to the Dainese 2024 boot line-up

For 2024, Dainese is pleased to present several new boots to its range of riding footwear – including the urban, sneaker-style Suburb D-WP, Suburb Air and a new colour to the sporty Nexus 2 boots.
Suburb Air

Suburb 
The new Suburb WP and Suburb Air are certified to CE – Cat. II – EN 13634 Standard, with rigid inserts on the malleolus area and soft D-Foam on the internal side for protection in the areas where it’s needed the most in the event of an accident. There is a gear shifter guard in PU to help with the longevity of the boots too.

The Suburb WP is constructed from suede leather and an abrasion-resistant fabric upper with a waterproof D-WP® interior, ideal for wet days. The Suburb Air has the same great look as the Suburb WP but, as the name would suggest, is perfectly suited to those warmer rides thanks to its highly ventilated construction of a microfibre upper and mesh lining.

To ensure comfort for all-day wear, both the Suburb Air and Suburb WP have an Ortholite® footbed and Groundtrax® outsoles. This technology has been specifically engineered to provide grip, stability and comfort on and off the bike. For ease, there is a bootstrap to help pull on the boots and fastening is achieved through lacing – with an elastic strap to secure the laces.

Suburb WP

The Suburb WP has an RRP of £169.95. Available in sizes EU39-47, men can choose from three colours – Black/White/Iron-Gate, Black/White/Red-Lava and Black/Camo/Acid Yellow. Women can choose from Black/Iron Gate/Metal and Black/White/Metal Purple both in sizes EU36-42.

The Nexus 2 boots from Dainese are the ‘ideal sports boots for any road’ and are now available in a Black/Lava-Red/Iron-Gate colourway. The boots are made from microfibre and D-Stone* for exceptional comfort and high abrasion resistance.

Certified to CE – Cat. II – EN 13634 Standard, the Nexus 2 boots feature an Internal AXIAL Distortion Control System, an articulated structure integrated into the boot that serves a triple purpose: protecting against sprains, reducing the intensity of impact by distributing it over the structure‘s entire surface, and stopping objects from entering the boot. For further protection, there is a nylon heel, a protective inner nylon hull, a reinforced nylon toe and thermoplastic polyurethane inserts on the shin.

Easy to wear and fit, there is a zipper at the back to close, flexible joints for extra walking comfort and an adjustment strap for a customised fit. The sliders on the toe are removable and the boots come with a setscrew wrench for any adjustments.

The Nexus 2 boots have an RRP of £289.95 and are available in sizes EU39-47. Riders can choose from Black, Black/Anthracite, Black/Fluro-Red or the new colour Black/Lava Red/Iron-Gate.
