Aprilia Tuono V4 and Tuono V4 Factory

It’s arrived the evolution of one of the most acclaimed bikes of all time by the public and critics: it is an Aprilia product and it bears a name that is respected by all sport riders and identified as a true thrill generator. It is not a sport naked: it is the Tuono. After making the RSV4, the best superbike of the new millennium, Aprilia shocked the hypernaked world with the astonishing Tuono V4, which has always been considered a point of reference in the category in terms of effectiveness and feeling in terms of sport street riding, as well as at-the-limit track riding. Aprilia was the first to see the advantages of making a more minimalist version with a more raised ride, starting from a chassis architecture and engine born for racing, giving every generation of Tuono incomparable dynamic qualities. The new Aprilia Tuono V4 is the heir to a motorcycling dynasty that has been voted one of the most adrenaline charged of all time and it now reaches incredible levels of performance and sophistication, thanks to the know-how Aprilia has acquired in years of victorious top level competition.

Tuono V4

The new Tuono family is now completer and more diverse than ever, capable of accompanying the rider on his path of personal growth, but made up strictly of sporty and thrilling models, worthy of the prestige of the name. The range includes Tuono 125, the entry-level bike with a strong character, Tuono 660 with its record-setting weight/power ratio, extremely lightweight and accessible to all, and Tuono V4, the pinnacle of a motorcycling career.

The two available Tuono V4 models now have a more marked characterisation: Tuono V4 is an exceptionally fun machine, but with a greater street connotation and is dedicated towards sport touring; Tuono V4 Factory is the more exclusive version, dedicated to an extremely demanding public. This bike is equipped with components that are largely derived from the Aprilia RSV4. It is the high-handlebar superbike, unbeatable in competition and on the track.

Tuono V4 Factory

Design: new aerodynamic solutions to enhance riding pleasure
Simply unrivalled, even in design, totally revamped with respect to the previous generation, but still interpreting the typical language of all Aprilias in a modern and aggressive way, characterised by compact and essential shapes that skilfully enhance its sportiness.

As per tradition, the new Tuono V4 machines also have the top fairing fixed to the frame, essential for leaving the front end free of weight, precise and responsive, as well as guaranteeing a good level of protection against the air, unheard of on classic sport naked bikes. Although with less extensive surfaces, Tuono V4 and Tuono V4 Factory follow the innovative dual fairing concept, introduced on RSV4, that acts as an aerodynamic appendage – confirmation of Aprilia’s commitment to in-depth development of increasingly more complex aerodynamic solutions to improve performance and comfort. Inspiration clearly comes from the racing world: the pressure of the air channelled between the two walls contributes to optimising stability at high speeds and, at the same time, increases rider comfort by protecting against direct air flow, also deflecting the hot air extracted from the engine.

The top fairing houses the LED headlight unit that features perimeter DRL, positioned around the two main lights, a light style that makes the Tuono V4 and Tuono V4 Factory unmistakeable in any lighting conditions. The turn indicators are built into the two DRL profiles, making the front section even more compact. The lighting system has a few unique features to guarantee greater safety: thanks to the presence of a twilight sensor, the low beam lights are activated automatically, while the self-cancelling indicators flash in case of emergency braking. Furthermore, thanks to the “bending lights” feature, the pair of supplementary lights in the parabolas light up the inside of the turn, increasing visibility when cornering.

The ergonomics of both models underwent in-depth development, albeit with different end purposes: effectiveness and feeling in sport riding for Tuono V4 Factory, rider and passenger comfort for Tuono V4. The introduction of the new fuel tank with a different design and narrower on the sides, although the same capacity of 18.5 litres, improves the rider’s fit on the bike, providing better support for the upper limbs in braking, thereby decreasing the force required from the arms in this phase, in addition to providing a better resting position for the external leg when riding through corners.

Tuono V4 Factory

Tuono V4 Factory features a new saddle, more comfortable than the one on the previous model, longer and also suited for tall riders; it also implements semi-active electronic suspension, the most advanced currently available on the market, developed by Öhlins and fine tuned with the collaboration of Aprilia engineers. Calibration is facilitated thanks to simple handlebar controls, for an even more thrilling riding experience whatever the field of use.

In keeping with the tradition of Aprilia’s most sporty models, the new Tuono V4 Factory was also designed to facilitate the elimination of those elements that are not needed for track use such as mirrors, passenger footpegs and licence plate bracket, all of which can be quickly and easily removed.

Chassis: Tuono V4 sets the standard in the category
The chassis architecture of the Tuono V4 has always set the standard in the category. The feeling with the front wheel that it provides is probably its most popular strong point. There is no need for an apprenticeship period to get used to it. Instead, the rider feels confident straight away with a front end capable of following impeccable lines with precision and easy execution. Credit for this goes to Aprilia’s know-how in putting ultra fine chassis architectures together, an aspect that has reached an exceptional level of maturity in the new Tuono V4 models. According to Aprilia tradition, by now well established, the aluminium frame on the Tuono V4 and Tuono V4 Factory exploits the strength and flexibility of cast and pressed elements, which are welded together: a structure characterised by torsional rigidity levels calibrated to provide immediate feeling and maximum riding control. The new swingarm uses the same construction technology as the frame, but it now has a lower reinforcing brace and it has been simplified with respect to the previous unit, reducing the number of welded elements from seven to three. Furthermore, thanks to the reinforcing brace’s longer arms, the transversal rigidity of the swingarm increases by 48% in the wheel pin area, with significant traction benefits.

As standard equipment, Aprilia Tuono V4 Factory offers the most advanced and efficient electronic suspension system currently available, the latest technological frontier proposed by manufacturer Öhlins and developed closely with Aprilia engineers. The particular technology of the Smart EC 2.0 semi-active suspension system allows simple and even customised calibration of the fork and shock absorbers with two operating modes on the units: semi-active mode and manual mode, both of which can be selected using the buttons on the handlebar. Three maps adjust the suspension in different ways and select the semi-active contribution: A1, A2 and A3. The first, developed for use with slick tyres, particularly suits circuits with a very smooth surface; the second, for use with compound tyres and at tracks with uneven asphalt; the third is dedicated to the road, characterised by freer hydraulics that better absorb imperfections in the road surface. In manual mode, on the other hand (M1, M2 and M3), the 3 maps provide as many predefined calibration types without semi-active assistance, in the same way as mechanical suspension systems operate. Both in the semi-active and manual mode, the user still has the possibility, within the three aforementioned logic maps, to fine tune suspension calibration based on personal taste and riding style, of particular advantage to more expert and demanding riders. The Öhlins steering damper is also managed electronically by the Smart EC 2.0 system and can be fully customised to best adjust the calibration depending on that of the fork and shock absorber. The OBTi (Objective Based Tuning Interface), visible on the new 5-inch colour TFT instrument cluster of the Aprilia Tuono V4, makes the settings intuitive. The operating logic of the new OBTi is based on the situations of use and the sensations the rider has. The system allows the rider to customise suspension calibration in every single situation in which the suspension system is stressed such as the acceleration and braking phase for example, in order to have the ideal settings in each of these areas. Simple and quick to adjust, as well as extremely effective in any condition, the innovation introduced by the electronically managed suspension system is important on a motorcycle like the Tuono V4 Factory, designed for use in very different environments (from the track to the road) which demand as many different set-ups to provide the best riding experience.

The braking system on both the new Tuono V4 units includes a pair of Brembo M50 callipers, lightweight and efficient, fitted with extremely high performance friction coefficient pads. The brake callipers can be combined with the pair of carbon air ducts (available as an original Aprilia accessory), which let you control the operating temperature, ensuring the same exceptional braking performance even in the most extreme use.

The unbeatable character of Aprilia’s V4 1100 engine
Tuono V4 and Tuono V4 Factory are the only sport naked bikes powered by a 65° V4 engine with unique characteristics. The narrow V architecture has made it possible to make an engine that is extremely compact lengthways which helps to centralise weights and achieve a compact chassis. No other engine can boast a ten-plus-year-long history of wins. A platform capable of satisfying the needs of the most advanced sport rider and also an exceptional base around which to develop a racing bike. The timing system uses very particular kinematics: the chain camshaft drives only the intake camshaft which in turn drives the exhaust camshaft via a gear. This allows for extremely compact heads, to the advantage of the frame layout which, on the Tuono V4 units, is as compact as that of a Grand Prix bike. the crankcase is monobloc with integrated aluminium cylinder liners to ensure maximum rigidity and consistent performance. The countershaft dampens vibrations. The extremely high performance 1077 cc powerplant benefits from some significant improvements: the distribution system adopts lighter and more efficient valve spring bucket tappets, which allowed an increase of 300 rpm in maximum revs, going from 12,500 rpm on the previous unit to 12,800 rpm the new one, thereby guaranteeing more incisive and thrilling performance. The engine now complies with the strict Euro 5 emissions standards, thanks to the new exhaust system with ceramic matrix substrate catalytic converter, more robust and with lower thermal inertia (it reaches operating temperature more quickly, thereby contributing to decreasing polluting emissions), despite being lighter than the one used previously on the Tuono V4 1100 RR. The new Magneti Marelli ECU 11MP ECU has also been introduced which guarantees the possibility of connecting more elements and managing more complex algorithms, thanks to the higher number of pins (from 80 to 144) and thanks to a calculating capacity that is four times faster than the previous one. Thanks to these modifications and in spite of the fact that the engine complies with the stricter Euro 5 standard, performance remains the same: maximum power is 175 HP at 11,350 rpm and maximum torque is 121 Nm at 9,000 rpm, values which, combined with the unique character of the Aprilia V4, thrill the rider with every twist of the throttle, providing enormous thrust that is always available at any rpm.

New APRC from Aprilia: State of the art electronics
Making its début on Tuono V4 and Tuono V4 Factory is the new, further evolved active electronic controls system from Aprilia, which has always been a point of reference for critics and the general public in terms of effectiveness and fine tuning. The new generation of APRC (Aprilia Performance Ride Control), the renowned control systems package derived directly from racing, integrates perfectly with the precision electronic management guaranteed by the fully integrated Ride-by-Wire throttle and uses a six-axis inertial platform with extremely high calculating capacity, therefore allowing a high potential for detecting the bike’s dynamic conditions and, consequently, extremely precise electronic control strategies.

One of the new features of the new APRC is the AEB (Aprilia Engine Brake), the adjustable engine brake control, now independent of the selected engine map.

The new APRC, standard equipment on Tuono V4 and Tuono V4 Factory, includes:

  • ATC: Aprilia Traction Controladjustable on the fly, without closing the throttle, to 8 levels, boasts higher performance operating logic.
  • AWC: Aprilia Wheelie Control, the wheelie control system that can be adjusted to 5 levels, has more precise operating strategies. Wheelie control can be adjusted on the fly without closing the throttle, like the ATC, thanks to the practical left-hand electronic block.
  • AEM: Aprilia Engine Map, 3 different mappings available to change the character of the engine and the way it delivers power.
  • AEB: Aprilia Engine Brake, the engine brake system that can be adjusted to 3 levels, with a specific algorithm that optimises operation, taking the lean angle into consideration.
  • ALC: Aprilia Launch Control, for use on the track only, with 3 settings, uses highly effective operating strategies.
  • AQS: Aprilia Quick Shift, the electronic gearbox, which includes a new operating strategy, allows for very rapid shifting without closing the throttle or using the clutch. It is also equipped with the downshift function, to allow for clutchless downshifting. It also allows you to downshift with the throttle open.
  • APL: Aprilia Pit Limiter, the system that lets you select and limit the top speed allowed in pit lane at the track or simply to make it easier to comply with posted speed limits on the road.
  • ACC: Aprilia Cruise Control. Electronic management has allowed cruise control to be introduced, very convenient on longer trips because it lets you maintain the set speed without touching the throttle.

In addition to the APRC system, Tuono V4 and Tuono V4 Factory come standard with Cornering ABS, adjustable to three levels, developed in collaboration with Bosch to guarantee not only extreme safety on the road, but also the best possible performance at the circuit. With its remarkably contained weight and dimensions, the 9.1 MP system is able to optimise braking and ABS intervention through the corners, thanks to a specific algorithm that constantly monitors various parameters such as lateral acceleration, the pressure applied to the front brake lever, and the lean, pitch and yaw angle, modulating the braking action in order to better guarantee the ratio between deceleration and stability. The ABS system works in unison with the Aprilia RLM (Rear Liftup Mitigation) system that limits the lift of the rear wheel during more abrupt braking. The first of the three sensitivity levels it can be adjusted to allow the ABS to be disabled at the rear wheel, which is an ideal solution when seeking top performance and thrills on the track.

Six Riding Modes are introduced that aim to not only maximise the riding experience in different conditions of use, but also simplify life on board. the rider just needs to choose the Riding Mode that best interprets his or her riding needs to automatically obtain the best settings in terms of Traction Control, Wheelie Control, engine brake, ABS and the other managed parameters.

There are three Riding Modes for road use:

Tour, for daily riding;
Sport, for sporty riding on the road and
User, that lets you fully personalise the electronic controls.

Three Riding Modes are designed for track use:

Race, fine tuned by the Aprilia development team’s experience and ideal for supporting the rider during track sessions, taking advantage of the Tuono V4 and Tuono V4 Factory’s full potential;

Track 1 and Track 2, which allow more expert riders to fully customise the electronic setup, storing the memorised parameters for their two reference tracks.

Managing the electronic settings is streamlined by the new electrical handlebar controls: the one on the left-hand electrical block is easy and intuitive thanks to the four buttons and the quick-management cruise control and traction control commands.

The new 5 colour TFT digital instrument cluster boasts exceptional display options. The two screens available for selection, Road or Track (both with automatic night or day backlighting, thanks to the presence of a twilight sensor), correspond with two represented indices. The list of accessories includes Aprilia MIA, the new Aprilia multimedia platform that allows a smartphone to be connected to the bike, further extending instrument cluster functions, is available as optional. The Aprilia MIA system provides a connection protocol that reduces smartphone battery drain to a minimum and includes both the infotainment system to manage the voice assistant, telephone calls and music using the intuitive handlebar controls, and the navigation function. With this feature, once your trip destination has been set on the smartphone, it is possible to display the directions directly on the bike’s instrumentation. The Aprilia MIA app also allows the rider to save completed trips and analyse the data acquired directly in the app using the geo-referenced telemetry function.

Tuono V4: the more street-oriented version dedicated to sport touring
The characterisation of the two new Tuono V4 machines is now much more distinct than in the past. Tuono V4 was developed in parallel with its sportier sibling, Tuono V4 Factory, pursuing different goals, in search of a greater street and fast (or rather, extremely fast!) sport tourer connotation. So, if Tuono V4 Factory is dedicated to an extremely demanding, informed and absolutely sporty public, Tuono V4, on the other hand, was born out of the desire to provide a more street-oriented and versatile version which would exploit the exceptional technical and motoring base of the  Tuono V4, to provide the peculiarities and unique riding pleasure of Tuono V4 to those riders who use their bikes in a more transversal way, including two-up travel. Consequently, ergonomics were the focus of in-depth development with the goal of rider and passenger comfort. Tuono V4 features a raised handlebar to provide a more upright and relaxed riding position, as well as a larger top fairing designed in the wind tunnel in order to guarantee better protection from the wind. The passenger benefits from a larger and more comfortable seat cushion, as well as a sturdy grab handle and a pair of lower footpegs so the lower limbs are not as bent, ensuring overall good riding comfort even on long trips. The range of available accessories includes spacious, asymmetric side panniers. In line with the more street-oriented and fast sport tourer inclination, Aprilia Tuono V4 is equipped with a fully adjustable Sachs suspension trio. Fork and rear shock absorber have a calibration which, although taking the exuberant performance of its 175 HP V4 engine into consideration, allow for a more comfortable ride for both the rider and the passenger. Being fully adjustable, in any case, they let each rider find their favourite setup. The V4 engine with its one-of-a-kind character and sound is the same unit installed on Tuono V4 Factory, but with a longer final drive ratio that guarantees smoother acceleration and easier management of the exuberant available power, in addition to ensuring lower revs at legal motorway speeds. The OEM tyres are also street sport products: high performance and long lasting Pirelli Diablo Rosso III, with a 190/55 size at the rear. Another way to distinguish the new Tuono V4 lies in the more sombre and elegant colour schemes.

Versions and colours
Tuono V4 is an exceptionally fun street legal machine, also developed for fast touring use. It is available in two elegant colour schemes: Tarmac Grey, dominated by grey and black, emphasising its mature spirit; Glacier White, dominated by matte white to enhance the purity of the Tuono V4’s lines. Tuono V4 Factory boasts an even richer equipment package including forged aluminium wheels and the semi-active Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 suspension system (instead of the Tuono V4’s adjustable Sachs mechanical suspension trio). It is available in the Aprilia Black colour scheme, which alternates glossy black with a few red elements to highlight the lines of the aluminium frame. Tuono V4 Factory is equipped with the sportier Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa, with a wider 200/55 on the rear, in any case approved for street use and available for the Tuono V4 as well.

New Aprilia SXR 50

The first motorcycle manufacturer to have introduced, since the nineties, the sport scooter concept with the iconic Aprilia SR 50, the manufacturer from Noale continues to explore new horizons in the small-engine segment, unveiling the new Aprilia SXR 50 online at APRILIA.COM.

Aprilia SXR 50 launches a new trend in the 50 cc scooter segment, vehicles that, in addition to a very young user base, now also appeal to a much broader and diverse public.
In fact, Aprilia SXR 50 is the first small-engine urban scooter to offer comfort, functionality and content usually reserved for higher-end scooters, maintaining unaltered its traditional rideability, agility and the typical, distinctive look of Aprilia sport scooters.
Agile and with reduced operating costs, SXR 50 is the ideal means of transportation to meet the widest variety of everyday mobility needs in an urban environment, guaranteeing comfort, rideability and practicality levels worthy of higher categories.

SXR 50 is powered by an ultra modern 50 cc single-cylinder engine, 4-stroke, Euro 5, quiet and nimble for that city riding characterised by frequent “stop and go” traffic, not to mention extremely economical in terms of consumption

Sporty design, ergonomics dedicated to maximum comfort
The design of Aprilia SXR 50 is modern and strongly distinctive: the front end is dominated by a large leg shield with the LED headlight unit at the centre. The dual headlamp is separated in the centre by a third element, clearly reminiscent of the triple headlight on Aprilia sport bikes. The front light cluster has built-in daylight running lights, also LED, and turn indicators. The raised handlebar and the windscreen built into the leg shield give the vehicle the look of a large GT scooter, as well as guaranteeing a comfortable and perpetually protected riding position.

When seated in the riding position, the immediate sensation is that you have everything under control. The large, fully digital LCD instrumentation is always easy to read and includes a digital speedometer and rev counter, total and trip odometer, air temperature, digital clock, fuel level, and a wealth of trip information that can be selected using the MODE button on the right-hand control block: highest speed, average speed, instantaneous consumption, average consumption, battery range and charge level.

The Aprilia MIA connectivity system, available as an optional accessory, also allows you to connect your smartphone to the vehicle via Bluetooth, taking advantage of the potential offered by the digital instrumentation. This content is totally new for the 50 cc scooter segment, further demonstrating the excellence of the new Aprilia SXR 50’s technological equipment.

The central part of the vehicle is characterised by a flat footboard that provides plenty of space for the rider’s feet in any conditions and lends itself well for carrying small bags. For the passenger’s feet, on the other hand, there are practical, fold-out footrests.

The conformation of the seat is designed to provide maximum comfort and full freedom of movement, even when riding two-up. In fact, it is a full 850 mm long and the height from the ground is just 775 mm in order to make manoeuvring from a standstill as easy as possible for riders of any height.

The seat is also enhanced by double stitching. This attention to detail also comes through in elements with a particular glossy grey finish such as those on the side panels, which contribute to giving the rear of the vehicle a sleek look, as well as the silencer cover.

The modern profile of the LED lights are once again the protagonists of the rear view: a sporty look highlighted by the 12” alloy wheel rims with a five-spoke design.

The spacious compartment under the seat, with a capacity of 20 litres, features a courtesy light and is big enough to hold a jet helmet; Cargo capacity is rounded out by the practical luggage rack with its integrated passenger grab handles, the glove box incorporated in the leg shield back plate, complete with a USB port inside to charge mobile devices, and the retractable bag hook.

Aprilia SXR 50 is available in four colour schemes: two more classic ones, Essence White and Instinctive Grey, and two sportier ones with relative dedicated graphics: Power Red and Enigma Black, the latter matte.

Engineering: efficiency, reliability and ease of riding
Aprilia SXR is equipped with a modern 50 cc, 4-stroke, Euro 5, fuel injected engine from the i-get family, characterised by 3-valve timing; a brilliant single-cylinder engine, it is the result of a design aimed at maximising quality and reliability, as well as reducing consumption and emissions, all to the advantage of economic operation and respect for the urban environment. In fact, its range exceeds 40 km on one litre of fuel in the WMTC.

An efficient injection system – with an eight-hole injector that emits a fine spray of petrol for optimum combustion – contributes to its good acceleration from low rpm, which translates into quick response in typical city riding, characterised by constant stop-and-go traffic.
The powerplant also keeps mechanical noise to a minimum, thanks to the gearbox settings which allow quickness and pure performance to be maintained even though the rpm are lower.

The frame is made up of a sturdy, single-cradle structure made of tubular steel and elements in moulded sheet metal with stiffness values that translate into handling and riding stability for the rider worthy of a higher category, with a feeling of total control over the vehicle.
A telescopic hydraulic fork operates on the front end, whereas a single shock absorber on the rear, adjustable to 5 positions, allows the vehicle to be perfectly adapted to rider or rider plus passenger.
The 12” wheel rims are shod with generous 120/70 tyres that guarantee grip and stability without compromising agility and manoeuvrability. The braking system comprises a 220 mm front disc with double-piston calliper and a reliable 140 mm rear drum.

Accessories
The range of accessories for Aprilia SXR 50 is designed to increase vehicle comfort and functionality.

Combined with the spacious under-seat storage compartment, in order to further increase cargo capacity, the 32-litre top box is available, capable of holding a flip-up helmet. The back rest, in the same colour and material as the saddle, is available for purchase separately.

Other practical accessories handy for everyday use are a larger and more protective windscreen, the non-slip rubber mat for the footboard and the practical side stand. Designed for the cold season, the dedicated leg cover fastens perfectly, thanks in part to the anti flapping system that guarantees maximum protection. It has an antitheft system with steel cable and a waterproof saddle cover.

The range of accessories is completed by the Aprilia MIA connectivity system that lets you connect your smartphone to the vehicle via Bluetooth.

Aprilia RS 660 – A new era begins

A new era beckons for Aprilia. Resting on an all-new technical basis and defined by the brand-new 100-bhp 660cc parallel-twin engine, a new generation of lightweight yet high-performance bikes is born, featuring sophisticated design and cutting-edge technology. This marks a re-emergence of mid-displacement engine sizes, allowing you to rediscover the pleasure and joy of everyday riding.

The Aprilia RS 660 is the first of a brand-new range of motorcycles in response to the demand from new generations for fun, easy and satisfying bikes, just as apt for thrilling road riding as they are for occasional outings on the racetrack.

The RS 660 raises the concept of sportiness to a new level, focusing on an excellent power-to-weight ratio that is will really excite but that is also easy to handle, making it an accessible bike for anyone. A unique bike stylistically, from the ground up, maintaining the Aprilia values of state-of-the-art technology and style that is evident even in its colours.

The first manufacturer to break the black and red monopoly with its spectacular coloration in the 1990s, Aprilia now returns to its role as stylistic ground-breaker, debuting the RS 660’s new Acid Gold – a colour yet to be seen in the motorcycle world – adding a new perspective to the most up-to-the-minute sportiness and setting a new benchmark for high-performance motorcycle sports styling. The RS 660 thus rekindles the pleasures and everyday enjoyment of the sports bike experience.

A new concept in sportiness and an excellent all-round bike – whether for commuting or full-throttle riding – the same sense of exhilaration can be expected. The RS 660 offers, for the first time in its class, first-rate technical content, honed from Aprilia’s competition racing experience, made available for street-riding fun. A perfect formula for maximum enjoyment, at a slender wet weight of 183 kilos, featuring a package of APRC electronic rider aids that would be at home even in superior classes.

Style: the new generation of Aprilia

The Aprilia RS 660 also clearly stands out in terms of style and dictates the shape of the Aprilia sports bikes to come. The design is innovative, sophisticated and genuinely sporty. The main objective of the Aprilia Style Centre was to create dynamic, modern shapes with low surface area, although without taking the concept to extremes, to offer a sense of space and comfort to

both rider and passenger, even aboard a sports bike, while at the same time, enhancing both its lightness and slenderness.

The main features of the fairings speak typical Aprilia sporting parlance, and are characterized by a triple LED headlight assembly, equipped with perimeter Daytime Running Lights positioned around the two main headlights, making the RS 660 immediately distinguishable in any lighting conditions.

Direction indicators are integrated into the DRL profiles, making the front end even more compact. The lighting system is equipped with several features to make riding even safer: thanks to the presence of a twilight sensor, the dipped beams are switched on automatically, while the self-cancelling turn indicators flash in the event of emergency braking. Finally, thanks to the cornering lights function, a pair of additional headlights in the parabolas illuminate the inside of the curve, increasing visibility when taking bends.

The Aprilia RS 660 boasts a double fairing with integrated aerodynamic features, an extremely cutting-edge solution that reaffirms Aprilia’s commitment to aerodynamic research.

The analysis of these two-dimensional surfaces in order to achieve the twin objective of combined design and functionality, proved a particularly taxing one. Efficiency was first analysed with the help of CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) calculation software, followed by wind tunnel analysis, then further evaluation on both road and track. The inspiration clearly derives from the world of racing: one of the functions of the double-walled fairing is, indeed, to optimize stability at high speeds, while increasing rider comfort by protection from air pressure and the dispersion of hot air flows emanating from the engine and radiator.

Aboard the RS 660, the ergonomics are perfect. The riding position is coherently designed with everyday sportiness in mind, with Aprilia culture having always designed bikes based on perfect rider integration. The seat-footpeg-handlebar triangulation welcomes riders of all stature, offering comfort and spaciousness, with a posture that is neither heavily loaded onto the handlebars, nor with legs excessively bent due to highly placed footrests. The rider can therefore enjoy a position that guarantees maximum control without causing long-distance fatigue, making the RS 660 perfect for either full-throttle racing or everyday riding.

The seat features very comfortable padding and is tapered at the sides to facilitate the resting of the feet on the ground which allows easy manoeuvres from a stationary position. The generously sized pillion pad is positioned on the tail, whose design was once again inspired by the V4 family, while a single-seat tail comes as an optional extra.

The choice of placing the exhaust pipes beneath the engine brings an added benefit of allowing greater freedom to position the passenger footrests, thus increasing comfort. The 15-litre capacity petrol tank is designed to enhances the compactness, letting the rider embrace it comfortably while protectively positioned behind the fairing.

In the traditional vein of Aprilia sports models, the RS 660 has also been designed to facilitate the fast, easy removal of any surplus elements when used on the track, such as mirrors, passenger footrests and license plate holders.

The Aprilia chassis: a benchmark in handling and precision

Aprilia’s ability to manufacture first-rate chassis is the stuff of legends: “It’s an Aprilia” signals a guarantee of design and construction quality, feeling and handling effectiveness.

In keeping with this fine tradition, the RS 660 features a magnificent, brand new structure focusing on slenderness, made up of a frame and swingarm both in die-cast aluminium, featuring unique characteristics within their class. The chassis dimensions favour agility: thanks to its 1370 mm wheelbase and the 24.1° inclination of the steering head, the RS 660 boasts exceptional handling capabilities, combined with all the precise features and sensations that characterize the front end of classic Noale-produced motorcycles.

The frame is made up of twin lateral beams bolted into the steering head area and, to the rear; the engine is maximized as a load-bearing element and contributes to forming a compact, lightweight yet rigid structure. In order to make the frame even lighter and more essential, the swingarm is pivoted directly into the engine: this is a monobloc element characterized by its considerable length, useful for having optimum traction and asymmetrical arms – a typical technical choice in the history of the Aprilia RS. The mounting of the adjustable shock absorber allows for excellent progression even without the insertion of any linkage, thus reducing even more precious weight.

In designing the frame, Aprilia designers paid close attention to the area of the steering head to ensure the necessary sturdiness for both road and track use, while keeping the turn radius very low to facilitate everyday riding use.

The chassis is completed by an adjustable upside-down 41 mm Kayaba fork and a braking system made up of a pair of 320 mm diameter steel discs, at the front and a pair of radial mount calipers and a radial master cylinder on the handlebars, both manufactured by Brembo. The RS 660 is equipped with high-performance Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa II tyres in sizes 120/70 ZR 17 at the front and 180/55 ZR 17 to the rear, guaranteeing safety and enjoyment on the road, as well as plenty of grip for maximum performance on track. The handling, nimbleness and compactness of the RS 660, combined with its engine performance, invite pleasure and thrills on winding curve-filled routes, requiring a very limited amount of work on the rider’s part.

Great performance from Aprilia’s new 100 hp twin-cylinder

An all-new engine makes its debut in the Aprilia RS 660 – a new engine which will subsequently feature in a full range of new motorcycles.

This is a 660cc parallel-twin cylinder unit, a highly compact latest-generation engine derived from the front bank of the 1100cc V4, whose line it follows in both concept and measurements and sports a Euro 5 homologation.

This configuration was chosen for its compactness and lightness. An engine with reduced horizontal and lateral dimensions allows great design freedom both for the arrangement of fundamental parts such as the intake and exhaust. As far as the chassis is concerned, the engine also features load-bearing functions, while housing the swingarm to its rear.

The front-leaning configuration affords the rider more comfort thanks to the greater heat dissipation and leaves the designers plenty of freedom to exploit the space. Furthermore, the engineering lends itself to superior cooling, helped also by the ingenious double-walled fairing system which aims at accelerating the air flows passing through it. With the same objective in mind, long exhaust manifolds were engineered to funnel flows into a single-piece tailpipe with an asymmetrical split outlet, all fully positioned beneath the engine, with the added advantage of superior weight distribution and a lower centre of gravity.

The new Aprilia twin-cylinder is the result of experience gained developing the extremely powerful engine that equips the RSV4 and is therefore based on a background of highly efficient and technical trials: the cylinder head, combustion chambers, ducts, cylinders and pistons all derive from the V4. Likewise, it features an 81 mm bore – as in the 1078cc V4 – with a 63.9 mm stroke. The decision to take advantage of the V4 technology guarantees top-class performance, while taking into consideration the high piston stroke speeds relative to its displacement size. Naturally, all engine components, including castings and molds, have all been designed and developed from the ground-up.

The new engine has the crankcase split horizontally into two pieces with the cylinders integrated into the upper crankcase to reduce overall dimensions to render the structure more robust. The cylinders are offset from the crankshaft to minimize internal friction during piston thrusts.

The hollowed camshafts of the 4-valve-per-cylinder twin-shaft are side chain driven. The mechanically operated oil bath multi disc clutch has a built-in assist and slipper system.

Wet sump lubrication involves an oil sump protruding downwards and crafted around the intake port, in order to best gather the lubricant in every type of riding phase, even when the bike is at its maximum inclination or during periods of braking and acceleration.

For a parallel-twin of this displacement, the performance obtained is ground-breaking and comparable to that of a much higher cubic capacity two-cylinder: 100 hp at 10,500 rpm, with an extension capacity that allows the limiter to be moved up to its 11,500 rpm threshold. The maximum 67 Nm torque is offered at 8,500 rpm, with 80% of the torque available from 4,000 rpm, which becomes 90% when 6,250 rpm are reached. The RS 660 is also available in the 95 hp version which can be disabled, ideal for beginners or less experienced riders.

In addition to performance and lightness, another aim of the project was to obtain from the engine the same character and grit typical of V-twin cylinders. To this end, valve timing with connecting rod pins arranged at 270° were chosen. Combustion is thus asymmetrical and offset by 270° to obtain irregular bursts which perform and sound similar to a V-twin. Furthermore, this type of configuration allows, by means of a single countershaft, easy balancing of the alternating forces of first and second order.

The injection system includes a duo of 48 mm diameter throttle bodies, with intake ducts of varying lengths to optimize delivery at high and medium speeds.

The performance of the new engine is guaranteed by electronics directly loaned from the Aprilia V4, including Ride-by-Wire with multi-mapping, an electronic accelerator, for the subtle management of subtle, yet progressive acceleration, even at low revs and optimal consumption.

First-class electronics: performance and security

Another of the unique features of the Aprilia RS 660 is its provision for electronic systems aimed at performance and safety – the most complete currently available in the category – and even higher than those offered by certain super sports bikes in the superbike class.

Aprilia has always been at the forefront in the field of electronics (it was the first to introduce the Ride-by-Wire throttle in 2007) and currently boasts the complete APRC (Aprilia Performance Ride Control) electronic command package honed in top-level competitions and praised as among the most advanced on the market by both public and critics alike.

The RS 660 is equipped with a six-axis inertial platform which, thanks to the built-in accelerometers and gyroscopes, is able to recognize the condition of the bike with respect to the road; it records and processes inputs deriving from the rider and sends the data to the control unit which intervenes seamlessly in the control parameters.

The RS 660 APRC, developed to support performance and make riding on the road safe and exhilarating, includes:

– ATC: Aprilia Traction Control, adjustable traction control characterized by fine and high-performance intervention logics

– AWC: Aprilia Wheelie Control, adjustable wheelie control system.

– ACC: Aprilia Cruise Control, maintains the set speed without using the throttle control.

– AQS: Aprilia Quick Shift, the electronic gearbox, for high-speed changes without easing off the throttle or without using the clutch, also equipped with a downshift function which allows downshifting without touching the clutch. Thanks to the software offered among the original accessories it is possible to reverse the gearbox for track use without the need to replace components.

– AEB: Aprilia Engine Brake, the adjustable engine brake control system for the deceleration phase.

– AEM: Aprilia Engine Map, various forms of mappings available to change the character and the way engine power is delivered.

The Aprilia RS 660 adopts the advanced multi-map Cornering ABS, to ensure maximum safety on the road, without detracting from its sporting performance. The system, with extremely low weight and dimensions, is able to optimise braking and ABS intervention when cornering, thanks to a special algorithm which constantly monitors various parameters such as lateral acceleration, the pressure exerted on the front brake lever, the angles of lean, pitch and yaw, modulating the action of the brakes for an optimized combination of deceleration and stability.

Aprilia has developed five riding modes, not merely to maximize the riding experience in different riding conditions, but also to simplify life on board. Riders are only required to choose which riding mode best suits their needs to automatically obtain the best set-up regarding traction control, wheelie control, engine braking, ABS and the other tweakable parameters.

There are three Riding Modes for road use:

Commute – for everyday riding

Dynamic – for sports riding on the road

Individual – which allows for complete customization of electronic controls

There are two Riding Modes designed for on-track use:

Challenge – suitable for on-track racing sessions capitalizing on the full potential of the RS 660

Time Attack – a system that allows more adept riders to fully tweak the electronic setup.

Electronic settings are easily managed by a user-friendly four-button control on the left-side electric switch block with quick commands for managing cruise control and traction control.

In order to minimize weight, the RS 660 is equipped with a lightweight lithium battery.

The full-colour TFT dash boasts exceptional display capabilities for its various parameters. The two selectable Road or Track screens (both with automatic night or day backlighting thanks to the twilight sensor) correspond to the same number of indices represented. A further option is the Aprilia MIA, Aprilia’s multimedia platform that allows you to connect your smartphone to the bike extending yet more the range of instrumentation functions. The Aprilia MIA system offers a connection protocol that minimizes smartphone battery consumption and includes both the infotainment system for managing voice commands, calls and music via intuitive controls located on the handlebars and the navigation function. It is thus possible – once the destination has been entered into the smartphone – to view the directions directly on the dashboard. The Aprilia MIA app also allows any routes travelled to be recorded and the data, which is gathered by means of the geo-referenced telemetry function, can subsequently be analysed directly in the app.

Versions and colours

Aprilia boasts a unique history of graphics and liveries, having always been a stylistic pacesetter. Aiming to both respect this heritage, while doing the utmost to stand out graphically, the Aprilia RS 660 colour range features the funky new Acid Gold, which most suitably reflects the dynamic, young character of the RS 660, enhancing even more the design features of the new Aprilia.

The Aprilia RS 660 is available in two other graphic variations: Lava Red is clearly dominated by colours that hark back to Aprilia’s great sporting heritage. The combination of purple and red is a tribute to the RS 250 in the 1994 Reggiani Replica version, the last true sports bike of the two-stroke engine era, still cherished by motorcyclists and highly sought after by collectors. The second, an Apex Black graphic is characterized by a total black look, which has also long since become part of Aprilia’s sporting history, which help the multiple bright red references to stand out considerably.

The Aprilia RS 660 is also available with a low-power 95 hp engine option, ideal for beginner riders, although all other technical features remain unchanged.

A wide range of original accessories

During the evolution of the RS 660 Aprilia a range of accessories that emphasize its various incarnations have been developed, enhancing performance and improving comfort and functionality.

– Complete “For Race Use Only” Aprilia exhaust by Akrapovic: complete exhaust system with collectors and carbon terminal for use on the circuit, not homologated for road use. This reduces weight and enhances both the sound and performance of the twin cylinders. The specialized ECU

mapping is included in the kit, with the software for using the quickshift with the gearbox in reverse configuration. The software (also available as a separate accessory) enables the pit-limiter function.

– Complete homologated Aprilia exhaust by Akrapovic: complete exhaust system with manifolds homologated for road use. Enhances the performance, sound and look of the RS 660.

– Software for inverted gearbox: to use the quickshift with the gearbox in inverted configuration it is enough to load the accessory software into the control unit, without the need to replace any bike parts. The software enables the pit-limiter function.

– Brake and clutch lever: in billet aluminium, these are adjustable and complete the sporty look of the vehicle.

– Wheel stickers: adhesives to be applied to the rim channels to give the RS 660 a more aggressive look.

Aprilia Tuono V4 X

After the success achieved by Aprilia RSV4 X, the special version of the supersport bike from Noale, one of the most powerful and lightest ever, of which 10 available units were sold in just a few hours, Aprilia is back to advancing the extraordinary V4 project, presenting a truly unique version of the Tuono V4, the hypernaked par excellence.

Introducing Aprilia Tuono V4 X, the exclusive “super Tuono” produced in a numbered and limited edition, developed and assembled directly by Aprilia Racing, the factory with 54 world titles, seven of which were won in the World SBK championship specifically with the narrow V4 engine.

Thanks to the painstaking care of Aprilia Racing, the most advanced Piaggio Group platform for motorcycle technology development, Tuono V4 X is now a true flat-handlebar racing bike, capable of providing an exclusive riding experience and visceral thrills, reserved for the most advanced and demanding consumer.

Considering the fact that, since its birth in 2011, the Tuono V4 has been consistently deemed the best hypernaked on track, you can just imagine the credentials of the Tuono V4 X, which is capable of lapping at a pace of 1 minute and 50 seconds round Imola in the capable hands of Aprilia rider Lorenzo Savadori. Savadori, who was entrusted as the development rider for the Tuono V4 X, commented: “It is the most fun bike I’ve ever ridden. In my opinion, the mix of comfort and performance is unique. The insane engine is also easy to manage, both for experts and novices, and the aerodynamics package provides incredible stability for a naked. I think that the Tuono V4 X has once again created a new segment.”

With the performance and thrills that Tuono V4 X is capable of providing, Aleix Espargaró also caught the fever and the Aprilia Racing team MotoGP rider put it through its paces round the Austrian Red Bull Ring circuit, commenting afterwards: “The Tuono V4 X is out of this world. I had never tested a high-handlebar bike on the track and I was surprised at the feeling of stability. The engine is insane, but the chassis architecture doesn’t struggle – to the contrary: the riding position and the electronics make it extremely fun. You can ride it cleanly, but you can also drift with it if you want to. It is a pure sportbike with a hooligan side!”

The experience that the Racing Department from Noale has in the top championships

contributed to the development of the Aprilia Tuono V4 X: for the first time on a bike of this type, Aprilia has introduced a generous front aerodynamic fin made from carbon-fibre, clearly derived from the one fitted to the Aprilia RS-GP used in MotoGP. This choice contributes to increasing stability at high speeds and in the critical phases of braking and acceleration.

The goal of making this special Tuono a true flat-bar naked racing bike exclusively for track use was achieved in full, thanks to a skilled focus on cutting weight to reach the exceptional landmark of 166 kg dry weight on the scales – specs that are rather close to those of MotoGP prototypes.

All the fairings/bodywork are made from carbon, enhanced by the dedicated “Bol d’Or” graphic, inspired by the Aprilia RSV 1000 R Factory which participated in the 2006 edition of the legendary French endurance race. The fuel tank is the same shape as the original, but it is lighter, while the factory electrical system has been simplified. Another obviously sports-derived element is the racing panel which is to adjust the main electronic controls of the Tuono V4 X. There are numerous billet aluminium parts that contribute to lowering the weight, such as the clutch lever, the brake lever guard, the engine crankcase guards, the adjustable footpegs and the fuel cap. The forged magnesium Marchesini wheels are shod with racing slicks to provide improved handling that is out of reach even for fully faired supersport bikes.

The engine is derived from the unit that successfully powers the RSV4 1100 Factory. The Akrapovič exhaust system features titanium collectors and a carbon end can, while the air filter is a Sprint Filter element, specifically the air filter that offers the highest permeability of those available on the market (as well as being waterproof) – the same unit that Aprilia Racing uses in MotoGP.

Electronic fine-tuning is guaranteed by the ECU which has been revamped in terms of logic and functions, featuring engine control and vehicle dynamics maps developed by Aprilia Racing. The engine maps are all “full power” and optimised for the racing exhaust system. The engine braking, traction control and anti-wheelie levels are specifically designed for use on the track. The bike comes standard with the electronic quick-shifter (including downshifting) and the colour TFT instrument cluster reprogrammed with lap time display using the built-in GPS sensor.

The maximum power of the V4 from Noale increases from the 217 HP of the Factory unit to the value of 221 HP measured at the shaft. This is performance that can be fully exploited thanks to the proverbial quality of a frame which is heir to a dynasty that won 18 titles and 143 Grand Prix races in the 250 class, and the advanced semi-active Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 suspension system.

The Brembo braking system is also entirely dedicated to racing, thanks to the use of refined and extremely effective GP4-MS billet aluminium callipers that grip a pair of steel discs with T-Drive technology and are controlled by a 19×16 radial master cylinder, also made from billet aluminium.

Each Aprilia Tuono V4 X unit, available at a price of €34,900, can already be reserved exclusively online by going to the Aprilia website. Buyers will be able to pick up their

unit directly from Aprilia Racing, simultaneously with an exclusive tour of the racing department in Noale, and they will receive a dedicated KYT NX-Race helmet with a graphic inspired by the bike’s colour scheme.

Tuono V4 X is part of the Factory Works programme launched by Aprilia Racing: unique in the world, it takes the same technology developed in competitive racing and makes it available to those planning to compete at high level in factory derivative championships or to those who want an RSV4 or a Tuono V4 with performance optimised for track use.

Aprilia SX 50 and RX 50

Extreme look, high performance and top shelf chassis architecture, Aprilia SX and RX 50 are the ideal bikes for taking your first steps in the off-road and motard world.

Aprilia SX 50 is available in a “friendly” version with low saddle and in the new and attractive white acceleration graphic

Heirs of the prestigious Aprilia off-road heritage which culminated with 7 world titles won in the Supermoto World Championship, SX and RX pack all of the benefits of larger displacement vehicles into the 50 cc engine capacity: Aprilia always uses competitions as a testing ground for new ideas and solutions to spread across the range, from the most powerful model to entry level.

The three models of Aprilia’s small off-road bikes, SX, SX Factory and RX Factory, target youngsters who demand the technological content of the Aprilia tradition and a modern look:: reliable, thrilling to ride, with an energetic character that fully expresses itself on city roads and suburban routes, now even “easier”: SX 50 can be purchased in the low saddle version (815 mm), extremely accessible with performance that is just as good. In fact, don’t be fooled by the engine capacity: SX and RX are real bikes, entirely at ease on the home-school commute and on the most competitive track. A motard and a sporty enduro, equipped with latest generation Euro 4 approved engines and with chassis architecture solutions that have nothing to envy of larger engine capacity bikes.

Aprilia SX 50

The lines are bold and dynamic, the expression of a contemporary style and faithful to the sporty DNA of the manufacturer from Noale: streamlined fairings, compact, enriched with racing style graphics.

The headlight is integrated into the fairing and delimits the new digital instrument panel, complete, clear, modern and easily accessible thanks to the new more ordered positioning of clutch and brake cables. The large multifunction digital dashboard, clearly and fully processes and displays all the information as well as more common functions. Its new features include the travel diary, with the ability to view maximum speed, battery voltage and two partial mileometers showing the miles travelled during riding sessions..

The saddle, slim, compact, positioned just 860 mm off the ground in the standard version, easily accommodates rider and passenger in an ergonomic position, guaranteeing plenty of freedom of movement both in sport riding and in everyday use. From 2019, a version will be available with a low saddle, just 815 mm off the ground, that caters to the constantly growing female target in the segment.

The locking fuel tank cap is perfectly built into the tank itself and significantly improves the mobility of the passenger in longitudinal movements. The tail fairing finally, integrates the passenger grab handles for big clean lines and just as importantly, passenger comfort.

The refined frame and suspension, a star feature of every vehicle made in Noale, is the result of years of experimentation in high quality frame production and the frame of the Aprilia SX 50 is no exception. Available in an original silver colour, it creates a direct connection between head pipe and swingarm pivot and is made of high-strength steel so as to better absorb the heavy stresses of off-road riding. A synthesis of toughness and lightness that fits in well with the ambitions of Aprilia SX 50.

The braking system ensures fast and safe braking and stopping. The ventilated steel disc measures 260 mm at the front and is braked by a floating calliper.

The rear braking system is equipped with a stainless steel disc 220 mm in diameter coupled with a single piston calliper.

The wheels, another distinctive element of the small Aprilia motard, are fitted with 17″ alloy rims and large tyres to ensure lightness and resistance to any stress.

Such a sophisticated frame could only be combined with a latest generation engine. The single-cylinder two-stroke, liquid cooled engine is characterised by an intake reed valve.

Use of the latest technology allows this new engine to deliver exceptional performance for the category at a contained weight.

The lubrication uses a separate mixing system with a variable capacity volumetric pump. Starting is handled by the kick starter. To top it off, the 6-speed gearbox allows you to make the most of the top level engine performance. Compliant with the Euro 4 standard, it comes with an electronically controlled carburettor and three catalytic converters for controlled emissions and consistently high levels of performance.

The exhaust in polished stainless steel stresses its racing inspiration, further echoed by the gritty sound.

The tank, sized to match fuel consumption, can hold up to 7 litres of fuel.

Aprilia SX 50 is available in dealerships in the new White Acceleration colour scheme and in the already well-known Green Energy variation.

Aprilia SX 50 Factory

The handlebar in double section black anodised aluminium is a technical and aesthetic hallmark of the factory versions; equipped with handguards that ensures agility and handling on all road surfaces and that delimit the new digital instrument panel. The front is completed by the powerful telescopic upside-down front fork 41 mm in diameter, with a travel of 240 mm; at the rear, the aluminium swingarm is connected to the frame and hydraulic shock absorber via the “progressive link system”. The rear wheel has a travel of 200 mm.

Another distinctive mark is the powerful braking system, equipped with floating front brake calliper with two pistons.

Aprilia SX And RX 125

For young, sporty and demanding riders, aprilia sx and rx 125 offer top level sports contents. Two high performance bikes with a strongly distinctive design

The only bikes in this segment to sport an ABS braking system

Heirs of Aprilia’s history of success in off-road competitions, the updated SX and RX 125s boast a sophisticated design, powerful performance and advanced technology that makes them bikes for people who want to stand out from the crowd right from the start of their two-wheel career.

The SX and RX offer great riding satisfaction to anyone climbing on-board. The same basic technology has been adapted to suit different tastes and needs: SX and RX have superstructure, frame, engine and suspensions in common, but each has a distinct character to suit different passions.

The wheels fitted with 17″ sports tyres, make Aprilia SX one of the most effective 125s on mixed runs; nimble and lightweight, it provides the performance of larger engined supermotard bikes without exceeding the power limit of the class, partly due to its sophisticated and generous engine performance. All complemented by a line inspired by the Aprilia motorcycles that marked a new trend in off-road design.

Aprilia RX is perfect for off-road enthusiasts. The large 21” rims on the front and 18” on the rear shod with knobby tyres leave no doubts as to the objectives the RX sets for itself: rigorous performance and absolute control in any terrain conditions.

Design
Aprilia was the first to introduce a unique and highly innovative design on basic motorcycles like the motard and enduro . The SX and RX are destined to leave a mark in their segment with design at the service of functionality, where effective riding control is never sacrificed for fancy shapes or unnecessary trappings. Indeed, the unmistakable lines of these bikes make them truly unique in their segment. A distinctive trait of this revamped design can be found in the spoked wheels with black anodized rims, the double-section black anodized aluminium handlebar and the handy engine guard.

The engine
The single cylinder 125 cc is the heart and soul of the new Aprilia. A modern engine, at the state of the art for four-stroke engines. A classic example of how technology developed in competitions can not only obtain benchmark performance but also make for extremely clean engines. With these bikes Aprilia has perfected the four-stroke engine to bring it in line with the strict Euro 4 standard without detracting from performance.

The brilliant lightweight single-cylinder engine easily reaches the maximum power ceiling for this displacement, with a thrillingly brilliant acceleration.

Chassis architecture
For impeccable safety, the Aprilia SX and RX boast advanced suspension and a new class-beating brake system with ABS, offering extraordinary, perfectly controllable stopping power. Increased safety, better efficiency, Aprilia is the first to introduce the Bosch ABS system with anti roll-over mode that acts on the front wheel, guaranteeing precision and total control in braking on one hand and adjusts rear wheel lift in the most abrupt braking on the other. The SX’s 300 mm front disc with double piston floating calliper is assisted by a 220 mm rear, also with floating calliper. The RX instead comes with two beautiful wave discs, 260 mm front and 220 mm rear, clearly taken from the racing world.

The sturdy double cradle steel frame is coupled with oversized suspension: the powerful 41 mm upside down telescopic fork offering wheel travel of 240 mm.. At the rear, the long steel swingarm optimises traction, with a wheel travel of 220 mm, connected to the frame and shock absorber with progressive linkage.

Specialist motorcycles like the SX and RX also need high-level components, especially for the wheels, a key element for combining sturdiness and lightness. Aprilia RX uses prestigious spoked wheels with new anodised black hubs. Aprilia SX also adopts spoked wheels, 17 inches in this case, with wide channel and generously sized sports tyres – 100/80-17″ and 130/70-17″ – to provide maximum grip in any conditions.

Instrument panel
Confirming their commitment to building advanced motorcycles that are versatile and practical in everyday use, Aprilia has equipped the SX and RX with sophisticated, compact, modern and easy to read digital instruments; as well as offering more common functions. Its new features include the travel diary with the possibility of viewing top speed and two trip odometers showing the miles travelled during riding sessions.

Aprilia SX 125 is available in the new graphic variations Red Raceway and Silver Speedway, while the RX 125 will be available in Red Raceway.

Aprilia RSV4 1100 Factory and RSV4 RR

The Aprilia RSV4 has always set the bar in terms of sportiness and performance, the best example of just what can be accomplished when drawing on the valuable experience of a winning Racing Department like that of Aprilia which, in its brief history, has earned 54 world titles, seven of which in the World SBK championship. Skills honed on the track and transferred to the production range, to provide everyone with the same excitement offered by Aprilia Racing motorbikes.

Unmistakeable in its design lucidity and applied technology, the RSV4 is conceived around a 65° V4 engine never before seen on a factory sport bike, and a frame which is the heir to a dynasty that has won 18 titles and 143 Grand Prix races in the 250 GP class, enhanced by the latest applied electronics systems to manage the engine and the bike’s dynamic performance. This is a true vocation of Aprilia, the first manufacturer to adopt the Ride-By-Wire multimap accelerator as standard, but above all the first to patent the APRC dynamic control system, with the exclusive features of self-calibration and wheelie control, in the spirit of maximum effectiveness at the service of ultimate performance. The Aprilia RSV4 1100 Factory adds to the exclusive range of electronic equipment with semi-active suspension, developed in collaboration with Öhlins and able to offer both feeling and performance for track riders as well as comfort and usability for riders on the road.

Aprilia RSV4 1100 Factory
The RSV4 project has always pursued a stated goal: to be the absolute best and fastest uncompromising superbike, the closest to Aprilia racing bikes in terms of performance and effectiveness. A premium product at the top of its category, dedicated to extremely demanding customers who want top shelf performance and refined technical equipment, provided thanks in part to the use of prestigious materials such as aluminium, titanium and carbon.

The Aprilia RSV4 1100 Factory boasts exceptional performance combined with a racing frame and suspension and a series of first-rate electronic controls, added to which is the semi-active suspension.

In line with the exclusivity of this model, the Aprilia Style Centre has worked hard to make the RSV4 1100 Factory unique and recognisable even in its colours and attention to detail. The colour combinations aim to enhance the exclusive nature of prestigious materials such as carbon (utilised on the front mudguard, the side panels, the exhaust terminal guard, the aerodynamic appendages, and the new front tank cover), in contrast with the titanium finish of the street-legal Akrapovic exhaust tailpipe, the same colour as the forged aluminium wheels. For the graphics of the superstructure, an attractive total matte black look enhances all the beauty of the sculpture-like twin-spar frame and swingarm made of aluminium. Given the incredible performance achieved by the RSV4 1100 Factory, Aprilia adds aerodynamic winglets to the fairing for the first time on a factory superbike, thanks to developments made by Aprilia Racing on the RS-GP prototype from which they are derived. Their particular shape, designed in the wind tunnel, and the angle at which they are mounted exploit the downforce of the channelled air, allowing the winglets to increase stability at high speeds, which helps reduce the tendency to wheelie out of the corner, while also increasing stability during hard braking.

Chassis: greater track feeling and efficiency thanks to semi-active suspension
Aprilia always said it would never use semi-active suspension until the stopwatch demonstrated an improvement in terms of lap times. That time has come. After two years of development in close contact with Öhlins technicians and thanks also to experience gained with the Tuono V4 1100 Factory, which already adopts it, semi-active suspension now features on the top of the range RSV4 model, or rather the RSV4 1100 Factory. The Smart EC 2.0 system by Öhlins is fine tuned for the RSV4 thanks to intense development work by the Swedish and Italian technicians, who spent a great deal of time at the toughest, most testing tracks such as Imola and Mugello (but also on the road), before the stopwatch, the only judge when it comes to improvements made to the extraordinary RSV4 project, finally confirmed that the primary goal had been achieved, riding feel and performance both improved, and quantified on average by a lap speed half a second faster than the previous version of the RSV4 1100 Factory, equipped with the same Öhlins suspension, but with mechanical operation. In reality, the Öhlins suspension of the previous generation of Aprilia RSV4 1100 Factory and the semi-active system are very different, also on the inside, the hydraulics fully revised so as to allow the system to work as efficiently as possible and achieve the project goals set out by Aprilia.

The control unit that governs the Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 suspension has access to all the bike’s electronic systems, meaning it is able to recognise all riding phases and therefore adapt calibration of the fork, shock absorber and steering damper hydraulics thanks to the development of an algorithm, fruit of the collaboration between Öhlins and Aprilia. As a result, this suspension better supports the rider through every riding phase on track, also offering greater feeling with the front wheel, a characteristic that was already at a high level with all previous RSV4 models. In addition, its increased ability to mirror any asphalt unevenness makes for greater ease of use and riding pleasure on the road.

The particular technology of the Smart EC 2.0 semi-active suspension system allows simple and even customised calibration of the fork and shock absorbers with two operating modes: semi-active mode and manual mode, both of which can be selected using the buttons on the handlebar. 3 maps adjust the suspension in different ways and select the semi-active contribution. A1, A2 and A3. The first, developed for use with slick tyres, particularly suits circuits with a very smooth surface; the second, for use with compound tyres and at tracks with uneven asphalt; the third is dedicated to the road, characterised by freer hydraulics that better absorb imperfections in the road surface. In manual mode, on the other hand, the 3 maps (M1, M2 and M3) provide as many predefined calibration types without semi-active assistance, in the same way as mechanical suspension systems operate. Both in the semi-active and manual mode, the user still has the possibility, within the three aforementioned logic maps, to fine tune suspension calibration based on personal taste and riding style, of particular advantage to more expert and demanding riders. The Öhlins steering damper is now also managed electronically by the Smart EC 2.0 system and can be customised to best adjust the calibration depending on that of the fork and shock absorber. The OBTi (Objective Based Tuning Interface), visible on the 4.3 inch colour TFT dashboard of the Aprilia Tuono RSV41100 , makes for intuitive setting operations. The OBTi operating logic is based on the goals the rider wants to achieve during each riding phase: for example, greater support during braking if one wants more controlled descent of the NIX fork, or greater support in acceleration if one wants greater support from the TTX shock absorber when the throttle is fully opened. There is also the possibility for manual adjustment of the shock and fork spring pre-load.

Aprilia is known as one of the best chassis manufacturers in the world and the RSV4 represents the synthesis of the technical prowess Aprilia has acquired in top level world championships. A particularity which is still exclusive to the RSV4 RR and Factory (and which has always been a characteristics of the previous generations) is the exceptional range of possible adjustments that the standard equipment chassis is able to provide. In fact, the Aprilia RSV4 is the only superbike that allows the rider to adjust the engine position in the frame, the headstock angle, the swingarm pivot and rear end height, in addition to fully adjustable suspension of course. Just like a real racing bike.

The braking system remains unaltered, already top of line with the previous version and comprising a pair of Brembo Stylema® callipers, lightweight, efficient and equipped with pads with a high-performance friction coefficient. The brake callipers can be combined with the pair of carbon air ducts (similar to those used by Aprilia Racing on the RS-GP), which let you control the operating temperature, ensuring the same exceptional braking performance even in the most extreme use. The kerb weight of the RSV4 1100 Factory with a full tank is 199 kg, thanks also to the adoption of the Akrapovic titanium exhaust tailpipe and the ultra light lithium battery.

Record performance for the Aprilia 1100 V4
The level of performance offered by the Aprilia RSV4 1100 Factory is the very best a sports rider could hope for, and is combined with the character and inimitable sound of the V4 from Noale. No other engine of this kind can boast a ten-year-long history of wins. A platform capable of satisfying the needs of the most advanced sport rider and also an exceptional base around which to develop a racing bike. This is the world’s first full scale production motorcycle with a narrow high performance V4 engine, the most revolutionary and powerful engine ever built by Aprilia. An engine that is unique and unmistakeable due to its use of “total” electronics, its extremely compact size and its lightness, to which the magnesium external housings, oil sump and cylinder head covers all contribute. The narrow V architecture has made it possible to make an engine that is extremely compact lengthways which helps to centralise weights and to have an extremely high performance chassis. The timing system uses very particular kinematics: the chain camshaft drives only the intake camshaft which in turn drives the exhaust camshaft via a gear. This allows for extremely compact heads, to the advantage of the frame layout which, on the RSV4, is as compact as that of a Grand Prix bike. the crankcase is monobloc with integrated aluminium cylinder liners to ensure maximum rigidity and consistent performance. The countershaft dampens vibrations.

RSV4 1100 Factory engine displacement is achieved thanks to pistons with 81 mm bore and 52.3 mm stroke; The compression ratio is 13.6:1. The wet sump lubrication system uses an oil pump, the payload of which is able to control the temperature of the piston, thanks to the use of a double oil jet. With respect to the one litre version that equips the Aprilia RSV4 RR, the timing system boasts optimised intake valve timing, while the primary drive now counts on a longer ratio for fifth and sixth gear. The electronic injection system now uses a throttle valve support with a more aerodynamic profile in order to improve fluid-dynamic permeability. The Magneti Marelli 7SM ECU has a specific mapping with limiter management set at 13,600 rpm. This brings maximum power to 217 HP at 13,200 rpm, setting the bar in the category; maximum torque also benefits from these changes, obtaining a clear increase of more than 10% across the entire curve with respect to the 1000 cc engine and reaching a maximum value of 122 Nm at 11,000 rpm. This is a very important value that makes the RSV4 1100 Factory not only more effective in acceleration even at low speeds on track, but also more thrilling to ride on the road. Lastly, the exhaust system with specific Factory layout includes the  street-legal Akrapovic titanium exhaust tailpipe as standard, significantly lighter than the unit that equips the Aprilia RSV4 RR. Aprilia RSV4 1100 Factory also benefits from specific calibration of the APRC electronic controls.

APRC: APRC: from Aprilia, the cutting-edge in electronics
Aprilia RSV4 1000 RR and RSV4 1100 Factory are fitted with an exceptional dynamic controls package designed and patented by Aprilia. Each of the two models benefits from specific calibration of all controls in line with the different performance levels the two bikes can boast. APRC (Aprilia Performance Ride Control) is the well known dynamic control package derived directly from winning World Superbike technology, one of the most complete and refined currently available on the market. The particular positioning and orientation of the inertial platform that governs the operation of the system allows for optimum possibilities of detecting the bike’s dynamic conditions and, consequently, more effective electronic control strategies.

The fourth evolution of Aprilia APRC is perfectly integrated with the electronic fine tuning guaranteed by the full Ride-by-Wire throttle control which is completely built-in and requires no other components for electronic throttle valve management. This provides clear benefits in terms of weight (compared to a traditional system, the savings can be quantified at 590 grams).

The APRC, which comes as standard on the Aprilia RSV4 RR and RSV4 1100 Factory, includes:

  • ATC: Aprilia Traction Control, adjustable on the fly (without having to release the throttle) to 8 settings thanks to a practical joystick, boasts high performance operating logic.
  • AWC: Aprilia Wheelie Control, the wheelie control system that can be adjusted to 3 levels, has extremely precise operating strategies. Wheelie control can be adjusted on the fly without closing the throttle, like the ATC, thanks to the practical left side electric block.
  • ALC: Aprilia Launch Control, for use on the track only, with 3 settings, uses highly effective operating strategies.
  • AQS: Aprilia Quick Shift, the electronic gearbox that allows shifting without closing the throttle and without using the clutch, also equipped with the downshift function, to allow clutchless downshifting. Its open-throttle downshifting feature is exclusive.

In addition to the fourth generation APRC system, RSV4 RR and Factory come as standard with advanced multimap Cornering ABS, developed in collaboration with Bosch to guarantee not only extreme safety on the road, but also the best possible performance at the circuit. With its remarkably contained weight and dimensions, the 9.1 MP system is able to optimize braking and ABS intervention through the corners, thanks to a specific algorithm that constantly monitors various parameters such as lateral acceleration, the pressure applied to the front brake lever, and the lean, pitch and yaw angle, modulating the braking action in order to better guarantee the ratio between deceleration and stability. The ABS system works in unison with the Aprilia RLM (Rear Liftup Mitigation) system that limits the lift of the rear wheel during more abrupt braking. Cornering ABS, fine tuned in accordance with Aprilia’s specific indications, is adjustable to 3 levels of sensibility. Each of the three Cornering ABS maps can be combined with any of the three engine maps (Sport, Track, Race), allowing riders with different experience and skill levels to find the best possible combination for their style. The three maps are “full power” and differ in the way they unleash the power of the Aprilia V4, in its two configurations, onto the asphalt, as well as the percentage of engine brake dedicated to each.

The colour TFT instrumentation is a true digital computer with exceptional display features. The two selectable screen pages (Road and Race, both with night and day backlighting) correspond to as many represented indexes. Available as an accessory for both the RSV4 RR and the RSV4 1100 Factory is Aprilia MIA, the Aprilia multimedia platform that allows the rider to connect a smartphone to the vehicle via Bluetooth, introducing a true corner by corner electronic settings calibration system for the first time, with data that can be subsequently downloaded to a laptop (or displayed directly on the smartphone) for analysis, just as is done at the races. Aprilia MIA is characterised by a new connection protocol that reduces smartphone battery consumption to a minimum, in addition to providing a wide range of already mapped circuit in which you can manage the electronic settings corner by corner, as well as user acquisition and timing of a new circuit that is not in the list Aprilia has provided. Aprilia MIA also includes the infotainment system, introduced by Aprilia for the first time on the RSV4, to manage voice commands and incoming/outgoing telephone calls on a smartphone. These activities are also displayed and managed by the digital instrumentation.

Aprilia RSV4 RR
Aprilia RSV4 RR represents a top shelf technical platform, ready to provide the rider with a “race replica” performance and feeling. In order to support the most demanding riders, one of the available accessories Aprilia offers is the Track kit, a package of prestigious parts that work together to improve many aspects of the RSV4 RR such as its weight, handling, aerodynamics and, last but not least, its appearance. The MY 20 version of the RSV4 RR has not undergone any technical changes with respect to the previous version.

The inimitable character and performance of the 1.0 litre Aprilia V4
The primary and unique characteristics of this 999.6 cc Italian technological gem, those that led to the creation of the best superbike of all time, are shared with the 1077 cc engine that powers the Factory version.

Power and maximum torque are respectively 201 HP at 13,000 rpm and 115 Nm at 10,500 rpm, bar-setting values that are joined by the one-of-a-kind sound, a true soundtrack offered by all Aprilia V4 engines. Like the Factory 1100 cc V4, the RR’s 1000 cc also boasts ultra lightweight pistons fitted with segments that reduce the blow-by effect in order to combine high performance and reliability. There is also a honing treatment for the connecting rod heads that contributes to reducing friction. The valve return springs also guarantee reliability during heavier work loads, while the valves benefit from optimised timing. The gearbox has a linear sensor that guarantees impeccable shifting operation, while the RSV4 RR exhaust system with double lambda probe features a silencer with integrated valve.

Chassis: Just like a real racing bike
Aprilia RSV4 perfectly represents the Aprilia tradition of packaging state of the art chassis architectures, thanks to the know-how acquired during high level international competition. The frame, with exceptional adjustment possibilities, and the swingarm both exploit pressed and cast elements that are welded to one another. The ratio between torsional stiffness and flexibility is one of the secrets behind the RSV4 chassis architecture’s success. It is the same structure that equips the Aprilia RSV4 1100 Factory, although the latter boasts a different steering geometry.

The chassis architecture of the RSV4 RR is completed by a Sachs suspension trio comprising a fork with 43 mm stanchions, a shock absorber with separate “piggy back”, and a steering damper, the first two fully adjustable in terms of all their hydraulic functions and spring pre-load (the shock absorber also has a centre-to-centre length adjustment that allows the height of the rear end to be changed).

On the RSV4 RR, Aprilia offers a pair of cast aluminium wheels and a Brembo braking system that is top of line in this category: the front relies on a pair of new 5 mm thick steel discs with a diameter of 330 mm, gripped by the monobloc M50 callipers fitted with high friction coefficient brake pads.

Versions and colours
The Aprilia RSV4 RR is available in two attractive colour schemes with a black or grey base (Rivazza grey and Arrabbiata black) and with red wheel rims.

The Aprilia RSV4 1100 Factory is the exclusive version that comes as standard with Öhlins semi-active suspension, lightweight aluminium forged rims and the titanium Akrapovic exhaust tailpipe. Aprilia Tuono V4 1100

Simply unrivalled. Heir to a family of motorbikes that have been voted some of the most adrenaline pumping and efficient bikes ever over the years, the Aprilia naked range achieves ultimate levels of performance and sophistication, thanks to the know-how Aprilia has acquired over years of successful racing and its experience with the Tuono, unbeatable on the track and lots of fun on the road. The Tuono V4 family of motorbikes is made up of two distinctly outfitted models. Tuono V4 1100 RR represents an exceptional thrill machine, the heir to a dynasty of naked sport bikes acclaimed by critics as the most effective and fastest bikes in the segment. Tuono V4 1100 Factory is the more exclusive version, dedicated to an extremely demanding public. This bike is equipped with components that are largely derived from the Aprilia RSV4 RF superbike. The Factory features a series of carbon fibre details as well as semi-active electronic suspension, the most advanced currently available on the market, developed by Öhlins and fine tuned with the collaboration of Aprilia engineers. Calibration is facilitated thanks to simple handlebar controls, for an even more thrilling riding experience whatever the field of use.

First-rate electronics thanks to the introduction of semi-active suspension
The Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 Factory offers, as standard, the most advanced and efficient electronic suspension system currently available, the latest technological frontier proposed by manufacturer Öhlins and developed closely with Aprilia engineers. The particular technology of the Smart EC 2.0 semi-active suspension system allows simple and even customised calibration of the fork and shock absorbers with two operating modes on the units: semi-active mode and manual mode, both of which can be selected using the buttons on the handlebar. The user can choose between 3 mappings: Track, Sport and Road. In the semi-active mode, suspension performance is managed by the Smart EC 2.0 system which actively intervenes on operation thanks to an algorithm that processes the data transmitted from the vehicle to the dedicated ECU in real time. In this mode, the Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 Factory suspension adjusts its hydraulic calibration, second by second, to the type of route and the riding style used. In manual mode, on the other hand, the 3 maps provide as many predefined calibration types without semi-active assistance, in the same way as mechanical suspension systems operate. Both in the semi-active and manual mode, the user is still left with the possibility, within the three aforementioned logic maps, to fine tune suspension calibration based on personal taste and riding style, of particular benefit to more expert and demanding riders. The Öhlins steering damper is now also managed electronically by the Smart EC 2.0 system and can be fully customised in order to best adjust calibration depending on that of the fork and shock absorber. The OBTi (Objective Based Tuning Interface), visible on the 4.3 inch colour TFT dashboard of the Aprilia Tuono V4, makes the settings intuitive. The operating logic of the new OBTi is based on the situations of use and the sensations the rider has. The system allows the rider to customise suspension calibration in every single situation in which the suspension system is stressed such as the acceleration and braking phase for example, in order to have the ideal settings in each of these areas. Simple and quick to adjust, as well as extremely effective in any condition, the innovation introduced by the electronically managed suspension system is important on a motorcycle like the Tuono V4 1100 Factory, designed for use in very different environments (from the track to the road and touring) which demand as many different set-ups to provide the best riding experience.

The Aprilia Tuono V4 on board electronics remain unchanged, already considered “best in class”. Aprilia Performance Ride Control is the patented control package derived directly from winning World Superbike technology, the most complete and refined of those available on motorbikes in the same segment. The fourth generation of APRC, standard on the Tuono V4 1100, integrates seamlessly with the fine electronics management guaranteed by the fully integrated full Ride-by-Wire throttle control and the inertia platform that allows an optimum possibility of detecting the dynamic conditions of the bike and therefore effective electronic control strategies.

The Tuono V4 1100 RR and Tuono V4 1100 Factory APRC includes:

  • ATC: Aprilia Traction Control, adjustable on the fly (without having to release the throttle) to 8 settings thanks to a practical joystick, boasts precise and high performance operating logic.
  • AWC: Aprilia Wheelie Control, the wheelie control system that can be adjusted to 3 levels, has extremely precise operating strategies. Wheelie control can be adjusted on the fly without closing the throttle, like the ATC, thanks to the practical left-hand electronic block.
  • ALC: Aprilia Launch Control, for use on the track only, with 3 settings, uses extremely effective operating strategies.
  • AQS: Aprilia Quick Shift, the electronic gearbox that allows shifting without closing the throttle and without using the clutch, also equipped with the downshift function, to allow for clutchless downshifting. Its open-throttle downshifting feature is exclusive.
  • APL: Aprilia Pit Limiter, the system that lets you select and limit the top speed allowed in pit lane at the track or simply to make it easier to comply with posted speed limits on the road.
  • ACC: Aprilia Cruise Control. This is very convenient on longer trips because it lets you maintain the set speed without touching the throttle.

The Tuono V4 1100 range is fitted with the advanced multimap Cornering ABS system, developed in collaboration with Bosch to guarantee maximum safety on the road, without sacrificing performance on the track. Cornering ABS, fine tuned in accordance with Aprilia’s specific indications, is adjustable to 3 levels of sensibility and can be switched off. In order to allow riders with various levels of experience to find the best possible combination, each of the three Cornering ABS maps can be combined with any of the three engine maps (Sport, Track, Race). The latter are all three “full power” and differ in the way they deliver the 175 HP of which the Aprilia V4 is capable, as well as the percentage of engine brake dedicated to each.

The colour TFT digital instrument cluster boasts exceptional display options and is capable of managing the user interface required for intuitive electronic adjustment of the new Tuono V4 1100 Factory suspension system. The two selectable screen pages (Road and Race, both with night and day backlighting) correspond to as many represented indexes. Aprilia MIA is available as an option. This is the Aprilia multimedia platform that allows the rider to connect a smartphone to the vehicle, for true corner by corner calibration of the electronic settings. The data can then be downloaded to a laptop (or displayed directly on the smartphone screen) for analysis, just as is done at the races. The Aprilia MIA system offers a new connection protocol that reduces smartphone battery consumption to a minimum, in addition to providing a larger range of already mapped circuits in which you can manage the electronic settings corner by corner, as well as user acquisition and timing of a new circuit that is not in the list Aprilia has provided. Aprilia MIA includes the infotainment system, introduced by Aprilia for the first time on the Tuono V4, to manage voice commands and incoming/outgoing telephone calls on a smartphone.

The Aprilia V4 with unrivalled performance
The Tuono V4 1100 is the only naked powered by a 65° V4 engine with unique characteristics. The narrow V architecture has made it possible to make an engine that is extremely compact lengthways which helps to centralise weights and achieve a compact chassis. The changes made in this evolution of the Italian V4 have resulted in an increase in overall reliability and performance, without sacrificing any of the great character and marvellous sound that bikers love so much. The engine adopts an exhaust system with a silencer that has a double oxygen sensor and a built in valve. The engine ECU has high calculating capacity and is capable of managing the significant maximum rotation speed. In order to guarantee maximum reliability, decreasing friction at the same time, the piston pins have DLC surface treatment, whereas the connecting rod heads boast a surface honing treatment. The combustion chambers are no longer obtained through a fusion process, but by a finer, numerically controlled mechanical process, whereas the gearbox has a linear sensor that guarantees impeccable gearshift operation.

Top of line suspension systems and brakes
The new Tuono V4 range fully confirms all the proverbial qualities of handling and stability provided by a frame that is closely derived from that of the Aprilia RSV4, seven-time World Superbike champion, assisted by top of line braking and suspension systems. The front Brembo braking system comes from the one on the RSV4 and relies on a pair of steel discs with a diameter of 330 mm, gripped by monobloc M50 callipers and activated by a radial master cylinder on the handlebar. The Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 Factory features the Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 semi-active suspension system, which incorporates the steering damper, NIX fork and electronically adjusted TTX shock absorber. With respect to previous mechanically adjusted units, the latter offers greater comfort (in Road map), while spring preload is easily adjusted thanks to a practical hexagonal head screw.

Versions and colours

The Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 range includes two models distinguished by different technical equipment and different colour schemes:

  • The Tuono V4 1100 RR is available in two attractive colours, Sachsenring red and Magny-Cours grey.
  • The Tuono V4 1100 Factory is offered in the new Atomico Racer colour scheme, in line with that of the RSV4 1100 Factory and characterised by a matte black base and tricolour graphics, a colour choice very similar to that seen on the Aprilia RS-GP competing in MotoGP.

Tuono V4 1100 Factory stands out technically thanks to its refined trio of Öhlins semi-active electronic suspension systems and, stylistically, because of its magnificent tail fairing (approved for two-up) derived from the RSV4. The front mudguard, engine cover and side panels are now in carbon fibre, a prestigious material that, as well as being lightweight and resistant, is able to boost the level of construction quality, at a maximum with the Tuono V4 1100 Factory. The wheel rims are the same for both models, their lightweight quality contributing to maximum reduction of the gyroscopic effect, all to the advantage of great handling. Tuono V4 1100 Factory is shod with the more sporty Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa, with a wider 200/55 on the rear, street-legal nevertheless and also available for the Tuono V4 1100 RR, which comes as standard with 190/55 on the rear and Pirelli Diablo Rosso III tyres.

Aprilia Tuono 125

Aggressive, sporty, expressing dynamism and lightness with a unique and unmistakable style. 125 cc of pure fun in a true great Aprilia.

Designed, developed and built in Italy, Aprilia Tuono 125 offers the youth market and also fans of small engine capacities, the very best in design, build, components and technical equipment.

An exaggerated line
The line is unequivocally inspired by that of the Tuono V4 1100, the record-setting Street Fighter, the crown jewel of Noale production along with the highly decorated RSV4 from which it was derived.

A sporty look on the fairing, a futuristic frame underlined by the new black graphics, and a top performance engine: the new Aprilia Tuono 125 is the synthesis of a supersports bike without the fairing. It is a bike with an extremely strong personality, a true naked but with an aggressive spirit, capable of providing top performance on flowing rides and unattainable handling thanks to the riding set up, also effected by the wide and high handlebar.

The line of the Tuono 125 is distinguished by the headlight which, like its big sister, the Tuono V4, gives the bike a decidedly original and attractive look, improves active safety for night riding and makes the bike immediately visible during the day.

The details of the Aprilia Tuono 125, available in new Red Hero and Dark Warrior colours, are also special: The 14-litre petrol tank offers exceptional range and, thanks to its design, allows perfect integration between rider and motorbike. The storage compartment, spacious enough for a 6” tablet, is the largest in its segment. A practical USB port can also be mounted to conveniently recharge your smartphone or any other compatible device.

A benchmark chassis
The Tuono 125‘s frame, with a new and aggressive black colour, is a work of art inspired by speed and total control of performance. Made entirely of aluminium, this is exclusive to Noale’s new 125 ‘scallywag’. Designed on the basis of Aprilia’s experience on the track, the spectacular perimeter frame consists of die cast aluminium spars with crossed reinforcement ribs. The result is a lightweight structure, capable of providing high torsional rigidity in order to guarantee top performance.

The solid upside-down fork, completely redesigned and the rear suspension with monoshock secured to the asymmetrical swingarm, ensure top level performance, safety and comfort. The design of the 6-split-spoke wheels emphasises the gritty character of the Tuono 125. This configuration that also ensures superior lightness and speed when cornering, guaranteed by Michelin Original Equipment Tyres.

The braking system mounts a four-piston radial calliper on the front wheel, assisted by Bosch ABS, that grips a 300 mm diameter steel disc. On the rear, the new J.Juan calliper grips a 220 mm disc and has a tone wheel to guarantee anti roll over protection. The asymmetric swingarm ensures the greatest possible torsional rigidity, a technology clearly derived from racing. This delivers maximum performance and safety at every turn, and is something the new Tuono shares with its sister RS 125.

Ergonomics, total control and comfort on the road
While still boasting content of a supersport bike, APRILIA Tuono 125 was developed privileging rider and passenger comfort: a riding position that is not extreme, handlebar positioned to guarantee comfort and, at the same time, maximum control and complete control over the vehicle, rider footpegs designed not to fatigue the rider, rubber inserts on the rider and passenger footpegs to improve vibration damping.

Aprilia Tuono 125 is the only naked bike in its class to have a half-fairing attached to the tank, for greater rider comfort. The generous twin seat is integrated in the tail fairing, so as not to disrupt the bike’s clean and essential line; the passenger sits comfortably on the Tuono 125, with its wide and amply padded seat.

The tail fairing, another element that is closely derived from the Tuono V4 1100, optimises aerodynamics, mounts the practical passenger grab handles and provides a spacious, locking storage compartment.

Racing instrumentation
Compact and extremely lightweight, the new instrument panel offers all the functions of a real racing machine: from the analogue rev counter, to the multifunction digital display complete with speedometer, trip master (I,II), top speed, cooling circuit temperature gauge, fuel reserve light, OBD light and ABS malfunction light. The APRILIA MIA system control unit is also available as an accessory, to connect your motorcycle to your smartphone.

Motor
At the heart of the Aprilia Tuono 125 is a modern and technological 125 cc four-stroke liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine, with electronic injection and four valves: reliable and generous, it is equipped with particularly sophisticated technologies such as DOHC distribution. With ultra-modern conception and design, lightweight and compact, it has allowed development of a refined chassis. Its power, optimally calibrated, guarantees responsiveness even at low revs. Vibrations are reduced to the minimum by a balancing countershaft. Euro 4 homologated, it guarantees maximum performance while respecting the environment.

The Tuono 125 is installation-ready for Quick Shift, the innovative gear shifting system that Aprilia has used and perfected on tracks all over the world. Just like with its big sister, the Tuono 1100, the electronic system manages torque interruption for the engaged gear change, based on how far the throttle is open and the engine revs, allowing the rider to upshift while holding the throttle open and without using the clutch.

The exhaust, which is unmistakably racing inspired, is completely integrated within the lower part of the fairing. A solution with a strong aesthetic impact that effects the dynamic performance of the vehicle, based on the centralisation of the masses.

Aprilia RS 125

Born from the racetrack, gutsy, and expressive of dynamism and lightness with its own personal and recognisable style, the RS 125 underlines Aprilia’s passion for sport, combining all the technological refinements of a true Superbike. Exclusive ergonomics of a true supersport bike, streamlined fairing, aluminium frame, a generous engine and the best components and technical equipment with a look even closer to that of Noale’s flagship RSV4.

A big look to suit youthful passions
The styling of the Aprilia RS 125 is inspired in shape and colour by that of its multi-titled big sister, the RSV4, queen of sports bikes, an aggressive and original look that is underlined by the triple headlamp at the front, the motifi of its “big sister”. The sleek fairing enhances the exclusive aluminium frame, an entirely racing-inspired refinement that no competitor can boast. A winning solution that Aprilia takes from its experience on the track to reduce weight and bulk and give the vehicle textbook agility and handling. The tapering lines of the slender tail fairing seem to melt away into nothing, joined together with the LED taillight that, in the spirit of road safety, guarantees outstanding lighting power.

The Aprilia RS 125 is available in two liveries: Silver Speed and Black Speed. Both are sporty and characterised by graphics marked by a big ‘a’ on a red background, the emblem of the Aprilia motorcycles that compete on race tracks around the world. The tank graphics take up the motif of the Italian flag, highlighting the exclusivity of the RS 125, the only small sports bike to be designed, developed and built in Italy.

The 2020 range includes a special version, the Aprilia RS 125 GP Replica, with dedicated graphics strongly inspired by the racing world, equipped with Quick Shift transmission and standard seat cover.

The Aprilia RS 125 also boasts the most spacious storage compartment in its segment, a space that can hold a 6” tablet. A practical USB port can also be mounted to conveniently recharge your smartphone or any other compatible device.

Unique ergonomics, benchmark chassis
The overall ergonomics of the Aprilia RS 125 are designed for the track. No other 125 can convey a racing character like Noale’s 8-litre machine. It has a unique driving position: the half-handlebars, further forward and lower with respect to the steering plates, and the rearward footpegs, along with the overall seat-tank package, guarantee a true and uncompromising supersport riding position.

Developed on the basis of Aprilia’s experience on the track, the spectacular perimeter frame consists of die cast aluminium spars with crossed reinforcement ribs. It is a lightweight structure, capable of providing high torsional rigidity in order to guarantee top performance on the road and on the track.

The solid upside-down fork and the rear suspension with racing-derived monoshock secured to the asymmetrical swingarm ensure performance, top level safety and comfort. The split 6-spoke design of the wheels emphasises the purposeful character of the RS 125. A configuration that is once again the result of racing experience, ensuring lightness and speed in corner entry. The braking system involves a four-piston radial calliper at the front wheel, assisted by Bosch single channel ABS, which acts on a 300mm steel disc. The rear mounts a single-piston calliper that grips a 220 mm disc and has a phonic wheel to guarantee anti roll-over protection. Maximum performance and safety at every turn, thanks also to the new Michelin Original Equipment Tyres. The license plate mount and turn indicators can be easily removed for track use.

Racing instrumentation
Compact and lightweight, the instrument panel offers all the functions of a real racing instrument: from the analogue rev counter, to the multifunction digital display complete with speedometer, trip master (I,II), top speed, cooling circuit temperature gauge, fuel reserve light, OBD light and ABS malfunction light. APRILIA RS, a unique sports history
With 20 world titles including Rider and Manufacturer championships and unsurpassed commercial success over time, the Aprilia RS 125 is symbolic of the Noale manufacturer’s sports DNA. It made its début in ’92 as the first example of combined content that was to become the true essence of Aprilia, that constant exchange of knowledge between the track and the road that infects both the sport and commercial spirit. The Venetian manufacturer’s first world title came in the 125 class, with Alessandro Gramigni in 1992; the latest – of the twenty it has collected – arrived in 2011, at the hands of Nico Terol. In between were two decades of near absolute domination in the segment which clinched the title as the most victorious European racing team in Grand Prix Motorcycle Racing.

Deliveries Begin Of The Aprilia Aprilia RSV4 X

Aprilia RSV4 X, a special celebratory version of the V4 from Noale made by Aprilia Racing in a limited edition of ten units to celebrate the ten-year anniversary of a project that won seven WSBK titles, is being delivered to the lucky buyers of the most exclusive super sport bike.

The “launch” of the RSV4 X deliveries was christened by an exceptional tester, Max Biaggi, who decided to take his RSV4 X out on the track immediately, which confirms that this is a special bike for special enthusiasts. One is also on the way for Andrea Iannone, one of Aprilia’s MotoGP riders. Max and Andrea were among the first to place their orders after testing it at a global sneak peek on 23 March at Mugello during the Aprilia All Stars event, the big festival where 10,000 fans participated.

“Tackling the corners at Mugello astride the RSV4 X is always a fantastic thrill! – the six-time world champion commented after taking to the track on 1 and 2 September – On this bike, the sensations are exactly like those of a racing bike and, as soon as I got on it, I felt like I had never quit racing”.

Built on the base of an Aprilia RSV4 1100 Factory – winner of the major comparative tests organised by the most important motorcycle magazines in the world, thereby reaffirming multiple years of technical leadership – in April, the Aprilia RSV4 X was “sold out” just a few hours after online reservations opened. Now the Noale racing department is ready to open the doors to an exclusive ten lucky buyers so they can take delivery directly in the Factory of the 54 world titles of this valuable gem of Italian engineering, dedicated exclusively to track riding.

The department’s racing experience has been fully harnessed in order to lighten the Aprilia RSV4 X and achieve an exceptional dry weight of 165 kg. Aprilia Racing has selected a series of refined, lightweight components, such as the carbon fairing – enhanced with special dedicated graphics inspired by the livery of the 2019 MotoGP Aprilia RS-GP – as well as a more lightweight tank. Another obvious sports-derived element is the racing panel via which to adjust the main electronic controls of the RSV4 X. There are numerous billet aluminium details, such as the clutch lever, the front brake lever guard, the engine sump guards, the adjustable foot pegs and the upper steering plate, important details that make for a further weight saving. Marchesini forged magnesium wheels magnify the already spectacular handling of the RSV4 and mount Pirelli slick tyres.

The inimitable 1078 cc V4 is prepared directly by Aprilia Racing, the most advanced platform of the Piaggio Group for the development of technology applied to motorcycles. This special preparation involves hand assembly and the subsequent fine-tuning of all tolerances, just as is done for racing engines. The timing system uses new intake camshafts, new valve return springs and relative caps, as well as brand new rounded bucket tappets that allow SBK-derived shafts with more aggressive cam profiles to be used.

The Akrapovic exhaust system features titanium collectors and a carbon outlet, while the air filter has been replaced with a Sprint Filter element, specifically the air filter that offers the highest permeability of those available on the market (as well as being waterproof), the same unit that Aprilia Racing uses in MotoGP. The electronic fine-tuning is guaranteed by a specific ECU mapping. These components ensure an increase in maximum power, from an already excellent 217 HP for the standard model, to an impressive 225 HP. The Aprilia V4 is equipped with the ANN system (Aprilia No Neutral), the gearbox with neutral positioned below first gear that speeds up shifting from first to second and prevents any up-shifting errors. A solution that derives directly from Aprilia’s experience in SBK and MotoGP and that is made available on a model on public sale for the very first time.

Another world first comes in the shape of the Brembo braking system, the firm having selected the Aprilia RSV4 X for the début of its GP4-MS billet callipers that act on a pair of steel discs with T-Drive technology and are controlled by a 19×16 billet radial pump.

Aprilia RSV4 X is part of the Factory Works programme launched by Aprilia Racing: unique in the world, it takes the technology developed for the Aprilia RSV4, a seven-time Superbike world champion, and makes it available to those planning to compete at high level in production-derived championships or who want a RSV4 with performance optimised for track-use.

WIDE RANGE OF PERFORMANCE ACCESSORIES FOR  RSV4 1100 FACTORY

For the Aprilia RSV4 1100 Factory, the bike from which the RSV4 X is derived, a wide range of accessories is available to increase its performance even more for track use. High quality parts that bring it very close to the extremely special X version, made in a limited edition of just ten units.

RSV4 1000 RR

With Aprilia’s world title winning heritage coursing through it, the 201hp RSV4 1000 RR is just at home on the road as it is on the track. Razor sharp and bristling with technology including colour TFT

screen, quick shifter for clutchless up and down shifts, and cornering ABS, until 30th June it comes with a free road legal Akrapovič slip-on exhaust.

Shiver 900 & Dorsoduro 900

The fun loving, intuitive, agile, torquey Shiver (£7,999) and Dorsoduro (£8,999) are both available with 0% finance with a minimum deposit of just £1600 to make ownership even more accessible and convenient than ever.

Tuono 125, RS 125, RX 125 & SX 125

Quality riding kit is a must – especially for a rider buying a first set of kit to accompany their first bike. That’s why customers who buy a Tuono 125 (£4,399), RS 125 (£4,499), RX 125 (£3,499) or SX 125 (£3,499) between now and 30 June will receive a free Aprilia full face or adventure helmet and summer gloves. That means less time spent shopping and more time for riding.

Aprilia RSV4 X

The Aprilia RSV4 sets the benchmark in terms of sports riding and performance, the ultimate example of what can be achieved by harnessing the valuable experience of a winning Racing Department like that of Aprilia which, throughout its short history, has scored 54 world titles, seven of which in the SBK world championship. Skills honed on the track and transferred to the factory product to provide everyone with the same sensations that the motorbikes prepared by Aprilia Racing do.

Unmistakeable in its design lucidity and applied technology, the RSV4 is created around a 65° V4 engine, never before seen on a factory sport bike, a frame which is the heir to a dynasty that has won 18 titles and 143 Grand Prix races in the 250 GP class, enhanced by the latest applied electronics systems to manage the engine and the bike’s dynamic performance. This is a true vocation for Aprilia, the first manufacturer to adopt the Ride-By-Wire multimap accelerator as standard equipment, but above all the first to patent the APRC dynamic control system, with the exclusive features of self-calibration and wheelie control, in the spirit of maximum effectiveness at the service of top performance.

Ten years after the birth of the first model in 2009, a bike that already had one eye on the category’s future, Aprilia introduces the RSV4 X, a very special commemorative version limited to just ten units of the new RSV4 1100 Factory: a jewel of Italian manufacturing and a collector’s item, dedicated exclusively to the track. That Aprilia Racing experience is also evident in the work carried out to lighten the motorbike, which results in an exceptional dry weight of 165 kg. To achieve this, Aprilia Racing selected a series of precious, lightweight components, such as the carbon fairing, enriched with special dedicated graphics inspired by the livery of the Aprilia RS-GP competing in the 2019 MotoGP World Championship, as well as a tank that is the same shape as the original, but more lightweight. Another competition-derived element is the racing push-button panel for adjustment of the main electronic controls making up the RSV4 X.

The inimitable 1100 cc V4 engine is selected and prepared directly by Aprilia Racing, the most advanced Piaggio Group platform for the development of technology applied first to racing bikes and then to factory models. This special preparation involves hand-assembly and the subsequent fine-tuning of all tolerances, just as is done for competition engines. The distribution system is also overhauled, with the adoption of new intake camshafts, new valve return springs and caps, as well as brand-new convex bucket tappets that, similarly sized, allow for the use of shafts with more aggressive cam profiles, deriving from SBK.

The Akrapovic exhaust system features titanium manifolds and a carbon tailpipe, while the air filter has been replaced with a Sprintfilter element: the air filter with the highest permeability available on the market (as well as being waterproof), the same unit used by Aprilia Racing in MotoGP. Electronic tuning is guaranteed by a specific ECU mapping, with dedicated track settings. These components ensure an increase in maximum power, from an already excellent 217 HP for the standard model, to the impressive 225 HP of the RSV4 X. The Aprilia V4 is equipped with the ANN (Aprilia No Neutral) system, the gearbox with neutral positioned below first gear that speeds up shifting from first to second and prevents any up-shifting errors. This solution derives directly from Aprilia experience in WSBK and MotoGP and is made available to the public on a production model for the very first time.

Another world first involves the Brembo braking system, the company choosing the Aprilia RSV4 X to debut its refined and extremely efficient machined from solid GP4-MS callipers. These act on a pair of steel brake discs with T-Drive technology and are controlled by a machined from solid 19×16 radial pump.

Each of the ten Aprilia RSV4 X bikes, offered at a price of 39,900 Euro, can be reserved exclusively online from the second half of April, by accessing the website factoryworks.aprilia.com. The lucky buyers will have the chance to collect their bike from Aprilia Racing and enjoy an exclusive tour of the Noale racing department.

RSV4 X is part of the Factory Works programme launched by Aprilia Racing: unique in the world, it takes the technology developed for the Aprilia RSV4, a seven-time Superbike world champion, and makes it available to those planning to compete at high level in production-derived championships or who want a RSV4 with performance optimised for track-use.
