Kawasaki Motors UK Partner with Steve Brogan Superbike School

Ex British Superbike racer, Steve Brogan has deployed a fleet of Kawasaki Ninja motorcycles for use at his renowned Superbike training school.

A family of Ninja ZX-6R and Ninja ZX-10R motorcycles have joined Steve Brogan’s coaching stable and they are now available to hire by aspiring track riders of all skill levels at circuits around the UK and further abroad in Europe.

Steve Brogan’s experience spans from racing 600cc Supersport and 1000cc Superbikes, to competing in the highest level of the British Superbike Championship and making an appearance in selected rounds of European and World Championships. Steve also managed a Kawasaki supported Superstock 1000cc racing team in the British Superbike championship. With hundreds of clients and more than five years of coaching experience to his name, ‘Brogie’ has fine-tuned a technique of quickly understanding what riders are doing wrong and pointing them in the right direction.

“I’ve learnt quite a bit over the last twenty years of racing, doing things the right way and wrong way. I’ve paid the price of getting things wrong and one of the biggest motives for my Superbike school is to give all the track riders the education they need to not make the same mistakes I did over the years,” commented Brogan.

“I have worked with different levels of riders on track from novice to intermediate and up to club level racers. Even club riders can still make big improvements but the margins are a little smaller.”

“I’m very passionate about what I do because when you get it wrong on a race track it can cost a lot of money, so I see my school as an investment that will pay off in the long run where riders will avoid simple yet costly mistakes, learn skills that will not only improve their track riding but also their road riding skills and ultimately this will help clients enjoy their riding so much more I believe,” said Steve.

Customers can expect to begin their day with Steve explaining everything he will be doing on the track. Riders will follow Steve to view his riding techniques and eventually overtake him so that an analysis of their riding can be made. “I’ll have a look at them and see what they are doing and I’ll give them feedback after every session with a debrief. Everyone receives one-on-one tuition in the group, even with a full group, our customers will get plenty of individual tuition and that is our promise.”

The decision to partner with Kawasaki was an easy one for Brogan who said, “I’ve always had a good relationship with Kawasaki over the years and it has always been a special brand for me because it was the first bike I raced in 1994 (Kawasaki AR80), when I was fourteen years old and it was also my last race bike in 2013 which was the Ninja ZX-10R. I ran my own Kawasaki supported team in 2014 and from there it was a natural partnership as there was only ever one choice.”

The Ninja ZX-10R has made an impression on Brogan who said, “I absolutely love it. It lives up to all the hype and it surprised me in a few areas. I have a lot of experience with the top sports bikes because I’ve ridden and raced most of the brands so I’m definitely impressed with the Ninja ZX-10R.”

Kawasaki Motors UK Senior Racing Coordinator, Ross Burridge said, “Kawasaki have enjoyed a long working relationship with Steve, back to when he was successfully racing a ZX-10R in the National Superstock Championship. When the opportunity arose to work with Steve on this exciting new project, we jumped at the chance. With Steve’s skill set as a racer, but more importantly as a coach, we couldn’t think of anyone better suited to help aspiring track users hone their skills and enable them to enjoy their bikes to the fullest. The Ninja family is such an important part of our business and with the recent successes we have enjoyed in racing, it’s great to see an opportunity for customers to try these bikes out under the guidance of such an experienced mentor.”

“After wobbling around the track for three days I decided to have a day’s tuition with Steve and wow what a difference Steve made in my riding style in just 5 x 20 minute sessions. Steve’s methods and teaching ability are second to none, everything just seemed to sink in and I was given the confidence to go faster everywhere on the track,” said Sean Chantrey after attending a Steve Brogan Superbike School day.

2019 Kawasaki Racing Team Clothing Range in Pole Position

As the Kawasaki Racing Team works through its pre-season test schedule and prepares bikes and riders for the new season, one vital element of the team identity is now ready for a new year of racing.

The KRT (Kawasaki Racing Team) WorldSBK clothing range has been through its own design, testing and construction phase and is now grid-ready for the 2019 season.

As worn by riders Jonathan Rea and Leon Haslam plus the entire KRT pit crew and support team, the full clothing range is now available to order at Kawasaki dealers.

The ever popular T-Shirts, Sweatshirts and Polos feature not just the Kawasaki Racing Team logo but also that of valued primary sponsors Motocard, Elf and Monster Energy. Along with the other items in an extensive range that caters for men, women and children, these are the only official Kawasaki clothing items to feature the team main sponsor logos and therefore the only source of genuine Kawasaki race-wear.

Manufactured to the highest quality standards, the range also features outerwear such as waterproof KRT WorldSBK jackets and the body warmers that are so popular with hard-working KRT pit crew members plus long leg pants featuring embroidered logos.

For those fly-away race rounds, sunny days at home or on holiday there is the option of stylish and practical Bermuda shorts.

As Ana Carrasco proved in WSSP300 this year it’s not just a man thing so the T-Shirt and sweatshirt are both available in tailored female cuts. Plus kids get a look in too with their own sweatshirt and T-shirt sizes.

If you want to dress like the best and share in the success of Kawasaki’s WorldSBK winning team there is only one way to qualify for pole position and that is with new genuine 2019 range clothing from Kawasaki dealers.

New 2019 Kawasaki W800 Street and W800 CAFE unveiled for first time in Europe at 2018 Motorcycle Live

Earlier this month Kawasaki revealed plans to revive one of the most enduring and identifiable Kawasaki brands in the form of the new W800 Street and W800 CAFE parallel twin, air-cooled motorcycles.

We are pleased to announce that the first European public unveiling for the new 2019 Kawasaki W800 Street and W800 CAFE will take place at 2018 Motorcycle Live from 22nd Nov.

Having little in common with previous iterations, the newly born Euro4 compliant twins are “90% new” with a whole host of styling, technical and practical changes, many of which are, at first, hard to detect. Sharing a completely new chassis, each machine has powerful new brakes – including a rear disc for the first time on a W – as well as ABS and, in another nod to contemporary riding, LED lighting.

Celebrating the fact that “original never goes out of style” both the stripped for action 773 cm3 bevel driven camshaft W800 Street and W800 CAFE can trace their roots back over half a century to the original 1966 W1 650; at the time the largest capacity four stroke machine manufactured in Japan.

Fully A2 licence compliant and with a targeted maximum power of 35kW*, the authenticity, classic style and seductive good looks of the new W800 Street and W800 CAFE are sure to attract new riders… as well as tempting existing licence holders who appreciate classic style and carefully considered simplicity of form and function.

* Targeted figure subject to final homologation

Kawasaki Motors UK joins forces with Fuchs Silkolene

Kawasaki Motors UK have formed a partnership with established and well respected motorcycle oils manufacturer, Fuchs Silkolene including title sponsorship of Team Green racing activities.

Both Fuchs Silkolene and Kawasaki Motors UK have already enjoyed a history of shared success on the track with the Silkolene sponsored JG Speedfit Kawasaki team taking the British Superbike Championship title this year, ensuring that the partnership has taken off to a winning start.

The alliance will be elevated moving into 2019 with a commercial element that will see Fuchs Silkolene expand their presence in Kawasaki dealerships nationwide, as well as having a significant involvement with Kawasaki’s Team Green racing program.

Joost Van Genderen, Head of Motorcycle Division for Fuchs Silkolene said, “Silkolene already enjoys a great history with the Kawasaki brand. We have been official lubricant partners with many Kawasaki race teams over the years including MotoGP, WorldSBK and BSB. Most recently we worked closely with the Bournemouth Kawasaki JG Speedfit team and the newly crowned BSB champion Leon Haslam, running on our premium range of high performance engine oils to secure the title.”

“We plan to work closely with the great team at KMUK, to deliver the very best lubricant solutions and product range available to their dealer network and their customers, offering the best performance, protection and maintenance for their motorcycles.”

Craig Watson, Sales and Marketing Manager for Kawasaki Motors UK said, “We are absolutely delighted to be taking our already successful partnership with Fuchs Silkolene to yet another promising level. Fuchs Silkolene products have time and time again proven to be of unsurpassable quality and reliability, which are characteristics that are shared with Kawasaki products, therefore we believe that our collaboration can only result in ultimate success.”

Kawasaki Motors UK Senior Racing Coordinator, Ross Burridge anticipates the partnership to be of a huge benefit to Kawasaki UK racing efforts, saying, “Silkolene have had a huge presence in racing for many years, so the opportunity to move into the 2019 racing season as official partners is an exciting one. The high quality oil and associated products they produce are of a huge benefit to race teams across a variety of disciplines. From youth motocross all the way through to our British Superbike team, our riders will get to reap the rewards of knowing their race tuned engine is lubricated with the best.”

New Kawasaki Versys 1000/SE – Pricing and Availability

Established as a highly regarded “all-rounder”, the Versys 1000 takes on the competition in 2019 with a radical upgrade focusing on a wide range of refinements and innovations making it the most accomplished iteration yet created.

With a unique to class four-cylinder across the frame format at its heart, the adventure focused 1,043 cm3 machine now benefits from electronic throttle valves which allow the adoption of electronic cruise control. The useful addition of Kawasaki’s IMU linked cornering management function facilitates a total engine and chassis management package.

Practically speaking, the ergonomic package is well thought through with an adjustable screen for protection and, in the comfort stakes, two possible seat heights thanks to an optional Ergo-Fit lower than standard seat available as a genuine accessory.

Bringing the comfortable long travel suspension equipped machine to a halt, the KIBS intelligent anti-lock brakes rely for the first time on powerful radial mount front brake calipers while twin LED headlamps ensure that the route ahead is clearly defined.

Defining what the next step is in the Versys dynasty, is the job of the highly specified Versys 1000 SE, the top of line machine for 2019. Taking the Versys concept to a new level, not only are a TFT meter panel and LED cornering lights part of the specification, but also electronically controlled front and rear suspension is fitted for the first time along with a Kawasaki quick shifter for fast and seamless changes up and down the gearbox allied to an assist and slipper clutch common to both variants of the Versys 1000.

With smartphone connectivity between rider and machine now possible thanks to the new Kawasaki Rideology App, Versys 1000 SE owners can not only adjust their suspension via their smartphone screen but also see riding logs, service and oil change intervals plus clever additional items like the display of received phone calls and incoming email arrival.

With equipment levels similar to a top end luxury car, it will come as no surprise to learn that the Versys 1000 SE is also equipped with Kawasaki’s new Highly Durable paint which, via a “trampoline effect” of still semi-liquid molecules, can change the appearance of light scuffs back to standard looking paintwork using a high-tech recovery process.

Touring focus on the Versys 1000 SE is ably handled with clever additions such as a 40W power source for powering not just satellite navigation systems but a host of other power hungry essential items. Additionally the standard fitment of grip heaters, hand guards and a large windscreen on this top of range model (all available as accessories for the Versys 1000) ensures that when the weather changes for the worse the Versys 1000 SE rider can rely of comfort, safety and convenience as the kilometers (or miles) rush by.

Hyper Touring pinnacle targeted by new Ninja H2 SX SE+

With the stated intent to “Supercharge your journey”, the third iteration of the successful Ninja H2 SX family has been dubbed the Ninja H2 SX SE+.
Targeting the heights of touring excellence, the Supercharged 998 cm3 machine has been conceived to be equally at home dismissing hundreds of highway kilometers or a complete range of mountain roads in a single day.
Literally a “tour de force”, the Ninja H2 SX SE+ features the most advanced array of rider aids yet assembled on a Kawasaki tourer. Headed up by KECS electronic control suspension, the new system has ability to adjust from the handlebar, or as part of a suite of functions offered by Kawasaki’s new Bluetooth rider-to-machine Rideology App.
The functionality of the App expands way beyond suspension adjustment and includes machine logs, service interval reminders, riding logs and even a note of received incoming calls and emails.
Adding to the smartphone pairing function and information screens, the colour TFT meter panel of Kawasaki’s hyper tourer shows an array of functions from the expected to such engaging features as bank angle, supercharger boost indicator, average fuel consumption plus a handy economical riding indicator for when “full gas” turns to “frugal”.
Counting on its accomplished trellis style chassis for confidence inspiring handling, the job of halting progress in 2019 has been allocated to Brembo’s latest Stylema front calipers which boast cooler, more consistent operating temperatures plus an even more direct feel at the brake lever.
Additionally, the Ninja H2 SX SE+ also benefits from body panels treated with Kawasaki’s new Highly Durable Paint that allows minor scuffs to self-repair thanks to a layer of paint which acts like a trampoline absorbing abrasions and then flowing back into the damaged areas.

Boasting – or should that be boosting? – a balanced Supercharged engine, the 100% in-house designed and manufactured integrated supercharger has been fine tuned to offer not simply incredible high rev performance but also manageable low and mid speed response plus remarkable fuel economy, surely the best of all possible worlds.

Available with “clean fit” accessory panniers that do nothing to disturb the sleek lines of the machine, the sheer quality of components, design and staggering all round ability of the Ninja HS SX SE already wrote a new page in the hyper sports touring book, now the Ninja H2 SX SE+ is destined to add not another page but an entire chapter.

Refined Raw Z400 beefs up Kawasaki mid-weight naked offering

At the forefront of the naked bike trend in Europe with its Z brand, Kawasaki has augmented the range further still for 2019 with the introduction of a new middleweight offering in the form of the new Z400.

Created with the benefit of Kawasaki’s unique Sugomi design philosophy which matches every engineering highpoint with a styling success, the Z400 is powered by a responsive, rider-friendly 399 cm3 parallel twin engine complete with an assist and slipper clutch.

Building on the formidable reputation of the outgoing Z300, the new Z400 is both lighter and more powerful than its predecessor.

Wrapped in a hallmark Kawasaki trellis chassis redolent of the mighty Ninja H2, the Z400 benefits from light, predictable handling plus low weight, the ideal combination for a machine focused on the A2 licence category.
With an easy reach to the ground stance, the Z400 possesses lithe handling characteristics and great ergonomics that belie its impressive “large volume” bodywork styling approach. For the rider it’s not just maneuverability that appeals, the view over the handlebars is complemented by compact multi-function meter panel.
Featuring a digital speedometer plus gear position indicator, additional convenience is supplied courtesy of indication of fuel consumption and an economical riding indicator among other rider-centric features.
Casting a confident light ahead, the LED headlamp of the new Z400 shines like a beacon into the distance from a machine that shares the same appealing and ominous crouching stance so characteristic of the entire seven bike Z range from the new Z125 all the way to the mighty Z1000R.
Adding meat to the bone of a remarkable seven model Z family, the Z400 is set to be the middle-weight naked “go-to machine” in the coming season.

Street or CAFE – Kawasaki adds to the W legend at EICMA

One of the most enduring and identifiable Kawasaki motorcycle families, the Kawasaki parallel twin, air-cooled W stable will house two more thoroughbreds in 2019 bearing the names W800 Street and W800 CAFE.

Highlighted as 2019 arrivals Kawasaki made the initial announcement of the new W800 Street and CAFE at EICMA with full information to be released at the beginning of 2019.

Kawasaki and Arenacross announce single-make Big Wheel KX85 series in 2019

Kawasaki UK and the Arenacross Tour have joined forces to create an inspiring, all-new Kawasaki Big Wheel KX85 race series for the 2019 Tour.

The Team Green Supermini Cup will cater for the best BW85cc riders in the land, with the leading 10-to-15-year-old racers from this category selected to participate in a UK motocross-first.

This unique initiative will present an incredible opportunity to twelve talented young riders whereby identical, race-ready machines will be taken to each round of the 2019 Arenacross race series at Belfast, Birmingham, and Sheffield.

The brand-new BWKX85 motorcycles will be professionally prepared and individually set up for each rider by Kawasaki Motors UK, with a Pro Circuit exhaust system, individually adjusted suspension settings and different handlebar bends. The beauty of the Team Green Supermini Cup is that the engine will be stock, thereby making it a level playing field and allowing the rider’s race-craft and skill to shine through. Two sets of full THOR race kit will be supplied for each rider, together with a Bell helmet and a set of Alpinestar boots; these will be exclusive to each rider and can be kept at the end of the series.

At the Arena, the whole operation will be housed within and work out of a Factory-style team pit. There will also be a dedicated Team Green Supermini Cup co-ordinator and mechanic at each event.

The only outlay to the rider will be the MCF licence, entry fees for each round, travel and accommodation. Other than that, each one of the privileged few simply need to attend the Arena and get ready to race.

Reflecting on the new race programme, Senior Racing Co-ordinator for Kawasaki Motors UK, Ross Burridge said, “Having already been a part of the Arenacross Tour for a number of years, we’re thrilled to extend our relationship with the series in this exciting new capacity. With our KX85, a big part of Team Green is nurturing youth talent and we think this Arenacross initiative is the perfect way to introduce young upcoming riders to our brand. I personally can’t wait to see twelve KX85 motorcycles lined up next to each other when we open at Belfast in January – it’s going to be a terrific spectacle.”

Matt Bates, CEO of Arena Sports Live shares Kawasaki UK’s sentiments towards the series, saying, “Ever since we started Arenacross in 2013, it’s always been about delivering ground-breaking new ideas. I can’t thank Ross and the team at Kawasaki enough for supporting the idea of the Supermini Cup and making a dream come true for so many young riders.”

Riders interested in taking part in the Team Green Supermini Cup are invited to apply online via www.arenacrossuk.com

The application process will open at 10am Thursday, the 1st of November, and close at 10am on Saturday the 10th of November 2018.

Once all applications are received, a panel of judges will consider the merits of each rider and select the ones lucky enough to get seeded through to the most comprehensive range of high-profile youth classes ever to grace UK motocross soil.

Never before have youth riders been offered such extensive opportunities – remember, there’s a very short window in which to apply online.
