KTM 790 ADVENTURE R – First Look

The all-new parallel-twin powered ADVENTURE bike has been developed alongside KTM’s latest Dakar-winning weapon, the KTM 450 RALLY, to be the link between its enduro bikes and street range for 2019.
The annual European event, this year hosted in Olbia, Sardinia, provided incredible on and offroad tours across three days of guided riding and tuition from KTM ambassadors and racers. Exclusive to just 150 places, like-minded KTM ADVENTURE owners conquered the island’s incredible variety of sea view sandy trails, twisty mountain passes and even extreme offroad routes with unexplored terrain.
Riders were given an exclusive opportunity to see an early preproduction version of the KTM 790 ADVENTURE R ridden by Chris Birch – an eight times New Zealand Enduro champ and triple Roof of Africa winner.
Made in the READY TO RACE style and comprising of KTM’s unparalleled offroad competition DNA, the lightweight KTM 790 ADVENTURE R will have the performance and pose for enduro riders who demand to go further or adventurers who desire to tackle the paths least explored. This is a motorcycle to back-up the ambitious.
After riding the bike, Chris Birch said: “I’m honestly blown away by the new KTM 790 ADVENRTURE R. Naturally, I’ve got a lot of experience on enduro bikes and the awesome ability of the big KTM ADVENTURE models, and this just feels like the perfect combination of them both. Obviously, what I rode is still a prototype, but it´s looking in terrific shape. Can’t wait to ride the final product!”
KTM PR Manager – Street, Luke Brackenbury, said at the event: “KTM listens to its customers and dealers throughout the world and the demand for a very hardcore, mid-capacity ADVENTURE bike was repeatedly raised. Make no mistake, this new KTM will be the most performance-focused middleweight travel enduro on the market with a spec sheet to rival machines of a much bigger displacement.”
For extreme travel enduro riding, the KTM 790 ADVENTURE R will be a street bike with serious offroad capabilities and unrivalled performance in its segment. Full details of the bike will be revealed at EICMA, Milan on 6 November 2018.

KTM Announces Partnership With FMF Racing

KTM is excited to announce a new and exclusive partnership with exhaust manufacturer FMF Racing for the development and production of specialist KTM Offroad PowerParts.
Since 1973, FMF Racing has been renowned for its association with dirtbike success on the racetrack and for providing its customers with high-quality, performance enhancing aftermarket exhaust systems. It’s expertise, passion and vision for building the world’s best performing exhausts has seen the California, USA, based company move from strength to strength to become an ideal partner to create premium products for KTM’s READY TO RACE SX and EXC models.
This new partnership sees FMF Racing and KTM’s R&D department in Mattighofen, Austria, develop high-performance exhaust systems for the newly released model year 2019 range, from the KTM 50 SX for junior riders, right up-to the KTM 300 EXC TPI and KTM 450 SX-Fpowerhouses.
The two brands have long enjoyed an association through numerous official KTM race teams worldwide. Now this partnership is strengthened right from the early stages of design to exclusively offer KTM customers the very best options for enhancing their offroad machines.
FMF Racing developed KTM PowerParts for model year 2019, will soon be available in KTM dealers.
“FMF Racing is a world-renowned aftermarket exhaust manufacturer known for high quality and performance boosting products. With their philosophy for success that’s synonymous with KTM, this new partnership provides the opportunity for FMF to develop products closely with our KTM R&D team” said Thomas Friedrich, Head of Product Management Technical Accessories.
“Crucially this process starts from the very beginning of the development of each of our new KTM machines, which ensures that these KTM PowerParts options are not just add-ons, but they are fully integrated and specially developed aftermarket products for our customers. A wide range of FMF Racing exhaust options are available for both KTM 2-stroke and 4-stroke offroad machinery, and we are looking forward to them arriving in our dealers as part of the KTM PowerParts collection” concluded Friedrich.
“Since 1973 the Flying Machine Factory (FMF) has been pushing the envelope of R&D and Racing. 45 years later to see the long-standing relationship with KTM flourish from global racing to exclusive partners is advancing our brand to the next level worldwide. The amount of testing and development the KTM R&D team does is a perfect fit to ensure that the FMF product line is in line with the performance required to achieve the same goal of giving our riders and customers the championship power that both brands strive to work hand in hand for” said FMF Marketing and Brand Director Don Emler Jr.

A New Generation of KTM SX is Here

A new generation of ground-breaking motocross technology is here with the KTM SX model year 2019 range. In keeping with KTM’s READY TO RACE promise, these world-beating, ultra-light machines have been radically refined to ensure KTM continues to lead the way in the offroad market. The latest models, from the KTM 50 SX for the youngest orange fans right up to the Motocross World Championship winning KTM 450 SX-F powerhouse, are currently being launched at the home track of our champion Tony Cairoli in Malagrotta, Italy, and will be available in dealers soon.

KTM is dominating the battle. In the championships around the world over the last 10 years the Austrian brand has been the consistent performer in the fight for competition supremacy. Tony Cairoli’s ninth FIM Motocross World Championship title last season, as well as the first for the star of the show, the KTM 450 SX-F, was a true highlight. Pauls Jonass’ MX2 World Championship continued the orange brand’s dominance in the class with nine victories in 10 seasons for the KTM 250 SX-F, while the 2017 AMA 450 Supercross title was won in the hands of Ryan Dungey prior to his retirement. KTM has also enjoyed race wins in both the 250 SX and 450 SX classes this season.

To add to these incredible achievements requires strong motivation, a commitment to development for racing and investment in KTM’s talent development programs. This creates the best platform for the KTM SX range, as these world-winning technologies are tested in the heat of the battle prior to being available on serial production machinery. The KTM 50 SX, KTM 65 SX and KTM 85 SX sportminicycles provide a strong basis for juniors to step up to the adult ranks where the KTM 125 SX, KTM 150 SX and KTM 250 SX 2-strokes, along with the KTM 250 SX-F, KTM 350 SX-F and KTM 450 SX-F 4-stroke machines provide the sharpest weapon in each class.

Chassis
For model year 2019 all adult models receive a generation changing update with KTM engineers targeting a further weight reduction that once again sets a clear benchmark in each class. In fact, in the higher capacity 450cc segment the KTM 450 SX-F is a lot lighter than its rivals. All SX models feature a re-worked frame for improved stiffness, handling and straight-line stability, a longer subframe, a revised rear axle slot and all-new bodywork for enhanced ergonomics with more freedom of movement. A brand-new appearance with new graphics compliment a newly shaped seat and new fuel tank. A new air filter box offers improved protection of the air filter and better air flow for both the 2-strokes and 4-strokes that contributes to a more efficient power delivery and improved performance.

New radiators offer efficient cooling with improved positioning for mass centralization, while a stronger lithium ion battery for the E-starter is harmonious with the reworked wiring harness for a compact electrical system. An updated triple clamp for improved handling compliments new suspension settings, while a newly developed, dual purpose, plug-in stand is yet another feature of the new range. All models continue to enjoy impressive serial components such as Brembo brakes, WP suspension, NEKEN handlebar, Dunlop tires, plus a map select switch with integrated traction control, launch control and map selection on the 4-stroke machines. This is no refinement model year, it’s an evolution; around 60% of each bike’s components are new.

Engine
All models in the KTM SX range have received major engine revisions over previous models. The KTM 250 SX-F and KTM 350 SX-F models enjoy a newly designed DS clutch, while all 4-strokes boast revised transmissions and a state-of-the-art Keihin engine management system with a reworked throttle body and improved electronics package. The KTM 125 SX, KTM 150 SX and KTM 250 SX all offer revised carburetor settings, with a new transmission and new clutch in each amongst other improvements. In addition to engine refinements on all models, the highlight KTM 450 SX-F model enjoys a newly developed SOHC cylinder head for reduced weight and improved mass centralization, a new camshaft with a shorter valve timing and improved surface along with a low-friction chain guide with a DLC coating.

For those looking to intensify their ride and fine tune their machines to their own individual requirements, KTM has created a full range of aesthetical and performance parts available in its KTM PowerParts collection. Developed in parallel to the new SX generation from conception to production, and by some of the finest engineers in the world at KTM in conjunction with leading accessories manufacturers, this wide choice of products can certainly take each SX model to new heights. Not only that, the KTM PowerWear range provides a diverse catalog of READY TO RACE, high-quality products for those gearing up for the toughest of battles. With protective gear, riding wear and casual wear on offer, riders can look great both on and off the track.

“After the race is before the race. This is certainly a statement that we at KTM live by. Once again we enjoyed incredible success around the globe with our offroad teams last season, but this is a testament to all the hard work of those involved and especially to the R&D teams in both Mattighofen, Austria, and the USA; racing success is part of the motivation that ensures we continue producing READY TO RACE serial machinery right out of the crate,” said Joachim Sauer, KTM Senior Product Manager Offroad.

“A tireless strive to continue thinking and re-thinking on how we can develop our machines has led us to the next generation of KTM SX models that will soon be available on the market. There are some serious revisions over previous models with the KTM 450 SX-F a true highlight with its incredible handling thanks to its light weight and powerhouse engine. Our program to develop the next generation of raw talent is complimented by a full range of models from the KTM 50 SX to bikes capable of racing at Grand Prix level. Our goal is clear – setting the benchmark in motocross technology by creating the sharpest weapons for the job, for amateurs to the pros,”concluded Sauer.

KTM EXC Model Year 2019 Has Arrived

Following on from revolutionary model introductions in enduro in the last two years, KTM is proud to announce its refined and updated EXC model year 2019 line-up.

KTM’s continued strive for excellence has ensured the orange brand remains the enduro market-leader with the KTM EXC line-up. Last years announcement of the world’s first series-production, fuel-injection 2-stroke offroad competition machines, the KTM 250 EXC TPI and KTM 300 EXC TPI takes the possibilities of enduro to new heights, whilst complimenting the high-performing 4-stroke models within the range.

Improved WP fork settings and a reworked WP shock absorber with a re-designed main piston and settings, provide improved confidence-inspiring damping characteristics. A new seat cover, stronger battery and new graphics with a READY TO RACE orange frame compliment high-quality Brembo brakes, No-Dirt footpegs and NEKEN handlebar. CNC milled hubs with high-end black Giant rims also come as standard on these championship winning machines.

The KTM 125 XC-W and KTM 150 XC-W 2-strokes, designed for closed-course use, receive a new cylinder with a machined exhaust port and a new power valve for high-end performance. An optimized kick-starter seat along with an ultra-compact, newly designed DS clutch and cover reduces overall engine width to previous models. In addition, a re-worked 6-speed transmission offers better function and improved reliability.

To accompany the new KTM EXC model line-up is the KTM PowerWear collection. Suit up and ride to the limit, with our wide range of offroad and casual gear to tackle the toughest terrain or to stay READY TO RACE on non-dirtbiking days.

For those wishing to customise their machine, our engineers along with leading accessory brands have developed a selection of KTM PowerParts enabling you to take your ride to new heights.

“The last two years have been incredibly exciting for our Enduro machine development here at KTM. A brand new ground-breaking generation for model year 2017 that had been re-designed from the ground up has been followed by series-production fuel-injection 2-stroke models for 2018. It’s been an incredibly fast-moving but fruitful few years in terms of development for this segment in which we remain the market leaders.

“Model year 2019 sees some key adjustments across all models, along with more in-depth refinements for our KTM 125 XC-W and KTM 150 XC-W machines. As we step into a new era of enduro, we are looking forward to the latest KTM EXC models reaching the dealer floors”, commented KTM Senior Product Manager Offroad, Joachim Sauer.

Due to arrive at UK dealers in late March, the completely new KTM 790 DUKE (£8,499) is set to inject fresh levels of excitement, technology and style into the naked middleweight market. Taking The Beast further and faster is the KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE GT (£15,999). The 1090 ADVENTURE, 1090 ADVENTURE R, 1290 SUPER ADVENTURE R and 1290 SUPER ADVENTURE S are always ready and backed up with a huge array of official PowerParts to be tailored to individual needs.

KTM: 100% SX Appeal, 0% Finance

Finance option of 0% APR introduced across all KTM motocross models

KTM UK is now offering 0% finance deals* on its entire 2018 SX range of two-stroke and four-stroke youth and adult motocross machines.

Every KTM is built to the READY TO RACE mantra and none more so than the ten-strong SX range of motocross bikes. From 50cc to 450cc, KTM’s relentless commitment to off-road racing continues to fuel the development of this full range of 2-stroke and 4-stroke motocross models, catering for athletes of all age groups and proficiency levels.

After the sweeping series of innovations launched in time for the past model year, the SX bikes now have been further tuned for model year 2018 with a number of minor but thoroughly considered changes, keeping them on the front lines and further enhancing reliability for extreme racing duty.

Running until March 31, 2018, the 36-month finance packages start from £89 per month for the 50 SX – the first choice as a stepping stone into the world of MX – up to £199 per month for the world-beating 450 SX-F, as used to devastating effect by Antonio Cairoli, Jeffrey Herlings and Marvin Musquin.

Whether it’s riding for fun or wanting to battle at the front of your chosen series, no other manufacturer offers such a diverse range of dedicated race machines with winning pedigree.

Find your nearest KTM dealer at www.ktm.com and discover more about the 2018 KTM SX range and the finance options available.

KTM 450 SX-F
For maximum power and extreme torque, the KTM 450 SX-F is the way to go. This model has proven itself in the main championships around the world over the years with its class-leading performance. Thanks to its compact SOHC (single overhead camshaft) engine that delivers explosive but controllable power, it is the weapon of choice for the US Red Bull KTM Factory Team’s 2014 and 2015 AMA Motocross Championship overall victories, as well as Ryan Dungey’s three consecutive AMA 450 Supercross World Championships in 2015, 2016 and 2017.

KTM 350 SX-F
The KTM 350 SX-F is the best of both worlds. Known as one of the most amazing success stories in motocross, this nimble model packs a punch and is the choice of many racers around the globe. This machine has dominated one world championship series after another in an astonishing manner. Since Tony Cairoli’s first win in the big class at his first attempt, the Sicilian KTM factory rider achieved five consecutive world championship titles in MXGP, the top tier of motocross with the KTM 350 SX-F. The key to this success: at very nearly the power of a 450, the bike still delivers the agility of a 250, besides all the “made in Austria” quality of a genuine KTM – a basic idea, which remains good for a lot of race wins. In model year 2018, the well-balanced 350 gains carefully thought out engine and transmission enhancements for even greater reliability.

KTM 250 SX-F
With its powerful, responsive engine in a lightweight and agile chassis, the KTM 250 SX-F once again turns out to be a great contender. This outstanding machine won the MX2 World Championship series an incredible nine times since 2008, with Pauls Jonass winning in 2017.
The lightest and best performing bike in its class remains a great choice for amateurs and professionals in model year 2018, not least due to its high-quality equipment like the E-starter, Brembo brakes, traction control and hydraulic clutch.

KTM 250 SX
The KTM 250 SX has consistently boasted the most powerful and most competitive 2-stroke engine of its class, with the recent model year 2017 re-design of the powerhouse once again securing the lead while underscoring the company’s commitment to 2-stroke technology. Designed using all the know-how of the KTM R&D departments as well as the factory racing team, the latest generation has proven to continue this kind of class-leading performance while being much easier to ride and faster than any 250cc 2-stroke before. The unrivalled performance of the lightweight 2-stroke engine makes it a true contender against more complex 4-strokes. With enough power to excel on all sorts of tracks and terrain, combined with an extremely lightweight chassis, the new KTM 250 SX boasts one of the best power-to-weight ratios in all of motocross.

KTM 125 SX & KTM 150 SX
The high-performing and well-proven KTM 125 SX has been the frontrunner of its segment for years and the ideal tool to enter top-level motocross. Powered by a lightweight, compact and high performance 2-stroke engine fitted in a state-of-the-art chassis, it remains a solid favourite among young champions and the benchmark of its class. The KTM 150 SX adds extra power and torque to take the fight to the 250 cc 4-strokes, making it an even more fun and lively ride for avid 2-stroke fans. With the lowest weights of their classes, awesome brakes and amazing agility, both offer great fun and performance while keeping the ownership costs down.

KTM 85 SX
Raising the bar in the competitive 85 cc class, the all-new KTM 85 SX features much of the same technology as found in the full-size KTM SX line-up. With an all new frame and state- of-the-art WP suspension, young riders can push the limit with confidence while the new engine delivers increased power as well as an even more controllable power delivery, supporting the stars of tomorrow with top performance and durability.

KTM 65 SX
A transitional model for those who have outgrown the 50cc class, the KTM 65 SX is clearly already
a fully-fledged piece of racing kit for more advanced young riders. With an air sprung WP AER 35
front fork system, cool graphics and a host of top quality details, it sets the standards in terms of power, riding dynamics, equipment and craftsmanship. Like its full-size counterparts, the KTM 65 SX is truly READY TO RACE!

KTM 50 SX
The KTM 50 SX is a genuine KTM for young motocross riders aged between around four to ten years old and up to a body height of 1.30 m. Like its bigger siblings, this genuine dirt bike uses top-quality components, making it a great choice as the first step on the racing ladder. Designed with young riders in mind, its engine delivers steady, controllable power while an automatic clutch removes a great deal of distraction, helping the novice rider focus on what is most important at their stage of development. Built for the smallest of racers, the KTM 50 SX MINI combines much of the same technology with an even more friendly power delivery, smaller wheels and a lower seat height.

New For 2018: KTM Introduces RC 390 R

Track focused R version backed-up with READY TO RACE Supersport 300 competition kit

KTM has further sharpened its street supersport RC 390 with the introduction of the new KTM RC 390 R – a homologated, limited edition machine ready for Supersport 300 competition when combined with the optional and dedicated SSP300 Race Kit.

With a relentless commitment to developing lower capacity models with high levels of performance and a history of presenting hardcore ‘R’ models, KTM introduces the new RC 390 R taking inspiration from the new Supersport 300 category racing.

Limited to just 500 units overall, this new R version embodies the typical KTM READY TO RACE spirit and builds on the abilities and pure appeal of the KTM RC 390. Armed with a series of hardware upgrades, the KTM RC 390 R is also perfectly placed to suit extreme track riding use.

Fully adjustable WP suspension front and back was tailormade for this exciting new model, providing huge levels of adjustment in order to get the KTM RC 390 R perfectly set-up for both rider and riding conditions.

With less focus on all-day comfort, a new top yoke and handlebar kit allows a more extreme racing handlebar position and adjustable for riders of all sizes. Beautifully finished, its machined construction provides precision, strength and weight saving. The addition of CNC milled, foldable brake and clutch levers provide increased feedback at fingers and are designed to flick-up in the case of a spill, helping to keep the KTM RC 390 R READY TO RACE!

Other changes include a shorter intake trumpet to increase the overall efficiency of the KTM RC 390 R in race conditions and to create an engine characteristic with a slightly wider power band. Finished with new high quality graphics to display the intent of this new machine, the KTM RC 390 R will be available to order through official KTM dealers in Europe as well in oversea markets and will cost 8,500 euros, incl. German VAT.

SSP300 – READY TO RACE
Homologated for competition use, aligned with the current official motorsport rulebook, the KTM RC 390 R is also the perfect platform for top-level Supersport 300 racing with the addition of the SSP300 Race Kit.

Limited to just 50 kits per year directly through KTM Customer Racing and made specifically for the new R model, the additional SSP 300 Race Kit contains more than 230 individual parts and gives motorsport teams the ability to make and maintain the homologated version into a dedicated Supersport 300 contender.

The kit aligns with the international SSP 300 FIM regulations for 2018 and offers everything which is needed for competition, including a full titanium Akrapovič SSP300 EVO02 system with race ECU, STM slipper clutch, quickshifter, wiring harness, spare wheels, a huge selection of gearing options, increased cooling system and a full bodywork kit made from lightweight and strong materials, among many other detailed parts.

The kit costs 11,000 euros (MSRP), including German VAT, and is not compatible to existing KTM RC 390 CUP motorcycles or any RC specification before 2017.

With the new KTM RC 390 R, the lower capacity supersports market has a new performance benchmark. Combining this superior base model with the most comprehensive race kit and a professional service back up through KTM Customer Racing creates a truly READY TO RACE formula for Supersport 300 competition.

EICMA 2017: New Power Generation For KTM

KTM pulled the covers off its all-new, production ready KTM 790 DUKE at EICMA, Milan, today (November 7, 2017) along with a KTM 790 ADVENTURE R prototype, hinting how the Austrian firm’s model line-up will further expand, thanks to a completely new engine generation with its 799cc LC8c parallel twin powerplant.

KTM CSO Mr. Hubert Trunkenpolz updated the assembled media and guests on the status of the company, scheduled for another record year of growth and profit in 2017 – underlining its position as the largest European motorcycle manufacturer. With a completely new engine platform, an expanding R&D facility, increased staff globally and now more than 280 World Championships in its trophy cupboard, KTM refuses to shut the throttle on progress.

Last year at the same event, the KTM 790 DUKE prototype – The Scalpel – was unveiled on stage; the exhaust note of its LC8c engine thundering through the halls. This year, KTM returned with the full production version, boasting performance figures and a specification that will blow up the fiercely competitive 600 to 1,000cc naked bike segment.

Formally introduced on stage by Mr. Trunkenpolz, the KTM 790 DUKE punches out 105 hp and 86 Nm of torque from the extremely compact and all-new LC8c parallel twin engine with an unrivaled electronics package. This is a pure KTM – potent and precise, to satisfy the needs of riders who know that power-to-weight ratio and agility can be more important than raw, straight-line brute power. From prototype to production, ‘The Scalpel’ lost none of its edge.

EICMA was also an opportunity for indicating what highly exciting further options to utilize the LC8c parallel twin are looming on the horizon. Just one example: the KTM 790 ADVENTURE R. This is what the ADVENTURE community has been eagerly awaiting; a lightweight, compact midrange travel enduro with outstanding cross-country ability. And that wait is almost over …

The KTM 790 ADVENTURE R prototype fully embraces the Austrian company’s READY TO RACE philosophy. With its high dashboard tower, single seat, tiny LED lights and low-slung fuel tanks, the KTM 790 ADVENTURE R is clearly inspired by the KTM Rally machines that dominate competition the world over. The LC8c punches hard from inside its lightweight and extremely rugged chassis, complete with top-quality WP Suspension components front and rear. Naturally, a production version of this would come with the very best electronic rider assistance package too.

Mr. Trunkenpolz: “We aimed to design the most performance-focused mid-weight travel enduro of its class, with the dynamism of much bigger engine machines, by giving it a leading power-to-weight ratio. The KTM 790 ADVENTURE R prototype is built from a pure offroad obsession. KTM is the market leader in the dirt; our heritage in this field is something no other motorcycle brand can easily copy and this is another exciting indication of the future.”

As a clear example of the relentless push that drives the KTM motorsport division forward and not leaning on past successes, KTM also presented an entirely new generation KTM 450 RALLYin a bid to claim a seventeenth consecutive Rally Dakar victory.

Representing two years of intense development and debuted at the OiLibya Rallye Maroc in October, the bike is faster and lighter while being more agile and stable. Wrapped in new bodywork and housed in a bespoke, freshly developed chassis is a new 450cc single cylinder engine. Controlled by a new engine management system and a revised throttle body, the result is better peak performance and improved throttle response. And in the true KTM style and for non-factory pilots, a customer version KTM 450 RALLY REPLICA will become available during 2018.

KTM Unveils New FREERIDE E-XC and Announces Future E-Mobility Plans

KTM unveiled its second-generation FREERIDE E-XC model year 2018 at the Red Bull Hangar-7 in Salzburg, Austria and presented its future plan for the e-mobility segment.

The powerful and agile KTM FREERIDE E-XC is now even better. Powered by a state-of-the-art electric motor with a peak of 18 kW fitted into a re-designed composite frame that provides even better stability, this e-machine now benefits from a 50 % capacity increase in its new KTM PowerPack, which offers up to one and a half hours of riding time with just one battery charge. The new KTM FREERIDE E-XC now also utilises energy recuperation when coasting or braking for an additional range boost, and the battery has a quick charging time, while also providing 70% of its initial capacity after 700 charge cycles. In addition, this lightweight bike boasts a new WP Xplor 43 upside-down fork system with enhanced sensitivity, and a new WP PDS Xplor shock absorber with improved progression and adjustment options.

The KTM FREERIDE E-XC features three riding modes: Economy, Enduro and Cross. Its easy operation, with no clutch or gear shift lever, and a confidence inspiring low seat height of just over 900 mm, combined with its extreme cross-country agility, ensures that this is the ultimate electrically powered machine for beginners to experienced level riders. Stylish new bodywork with racy graphics, trim and colors, a new dashboard and re-positioned ignition lock provide further benefits over the previous model. Complying with A1 licence requirements and producing zero local emissions with minimal noise pollution, the possibilities are endless with the ultra-playful KTM FREERIDE E-XC.

Not only does the KTM FREERIDE E-XC offer major environmental advantages, the cost of running the bike is vastly reduced over an equivalent combustion motorcycle. To fully charge the KTM PowerPack for the KTM FREERIDE E-XC the cost is less than EUR0.8 (20 Cent/kW x 3,9 kW) and when compared to the KTM FREERIDE 250 F, for 1.5 hours of riding the cost in fuel would be approximately four or five times more.

This latest e-powered machine is part of KTM’s long-term commitment to e-mobility, which began over 10 years ago in KTM’s research and development department in Mattighofen, Austria. The Austrian brand plans a range of machines for the future including e-mini, and an e-scooter, as well as maximising its partnership with PEXCO with a new possibility to produce crossover products in the bicycle sector. The vision is clear, and by 2025 KTM will increase emphasis on machines from 250 watt to 11kWh due to market suitability and efficiency.

Stefan Pierer (KTM CEO): “We are proud to present the new KTM FREERIDE E-XC, which marks the next step in development of e-mobility within KTM and is a continuation of our commitment to this segment. We know that e-mobility will change the landscape of travel in the future, and our vision is very clear. Looking ahead to 2025 we expect to have a wider range of models available with a focus in the commuting arena. We also plan crossover machines with our collaboration with PEXCO, as well as using our e-mobility expertise in other applications.”

The new KTM FREERIDE E-XC will arrive in dealers in certain markets at the beginning of next year, and for more information please visit www.ktmfreeride-e.com
