The Ultimate Gravel Traveller Introducing The New KTM 890 Adventure

The ride doesn’t need to end when the road does… Rolling into view as the perfect choice for finding new boundaries off the beaten tracks, the 2021 KTM 890 ADVENTURE comes with more engine grunt, improved handling, added suspension adjustability and rider focused technology to form the right tool for endless road or gravel exploration.

It has never been a better time to reach out to the world on a bike. Getting from A to B safely, quickly and efficiently has always been important, but to do it aboard a machine carrying KTM’s READY TO RACE DNA takes the experience to new levels. A new model for 2021, the KTM 890 ADVENTURE takes the lightweight and sporty characteristics you’d expect from a KTM ADVENTURE motorcycle to deliver a supremely capable adventure tourer – both on and off the tarmac.

The KTM 790 ADVENTURE formed a robust basis for KTM engineers to begin their search to offer more – much more – while still maintaining that resourcefulness, light touch and confidence-inspiring handling. The new 889cc compact engine raises performance figures to 105 hp and 100 Nm of torque and the 20% extra rotating mass of the crankshaft brings an improved feeling at low revs while augmenting the centralised sensation and traction through corners. The KTM 890 ADVENTURE comes with a refined and stronger clutch to cope with the boosted performance and the powerplant is Euro5 compliant.

A new WP APEX rear shock offers greater rider customisation potential through a new rebound damping adjuster and an additional hand adjuster for spring preload. The suspension matches the rest of the chassis configuration in placing the bike firmly between use for the tarmac and the trail.

Want the thrill of the gravel and breaking traction? Then count on 200mm of suspension travel, Dakar Rally-inspired ergonomics that mean the bike is comparably slim, light and manageable, an accessible seat height, a low fender, a 20-litre tank and KTM MY RIDE navigation.

Prefer the flat expanses of the road? The KTM 890 ADVENTURE has Adventure-spec tyres, a full-size TFT dashboard, Cornering ABS, Motorcycle Traction Control and Motor Slip Regulation, a seat that is adjustable in two heights and a strong yet lightweight subframe for pillion or baggage.

A range of KTM PowerPart upgrades means that Cruise Control (with the handlebar switch now provided as standard), a Quickshifter+ (with optimized settings), heated seat and grips together with a wide compliment of luggage widens the travel potential of the KTM 890 ADVENTURE even more.

With the new engine we worked a lot on optimising the overall performance and feeling while out riding. The result is a big improvement in the bike’s rideability, better stability, less gear shifting and added comfort for the long days on the saddle. The MYKTM App and Kit Offer Factory Bike Set-Up at The Touch of a Button

Available now: the MYKTM app and connectivity unit kit offer factory bike set-up at the touch of a button.

Placing added control in the hands of KTM SX-F riders, the myKTM app allows for quick and easy bike set-up with key tuning tools and helpful advice from the comfort of your smartphone device. With the software now downloadable for both iOS and Android, the KTM PowerParts Connectivity Unit kit is now available to purchase.

Thousands of hours and testing have gone into the creation of KTM’s advanced myKTM app that for 2021 graces the complete line-up of KTM SX-F 4-stroke bikes. This innovative tool places simple and concise adjustability of engine mapping and performance, along with precise recommendations for suspension settings using well-presented and intuitive menu screens.

The myKTM app functions through a straightforward Bluetooth connection with a Connectivity Unit that is located on the handlebars. Once synced, the bike will be added onto your virtual GARAGE and will immediately become available for a range of tuning options and recommendations described in the respective ENGINE and SUSPENSION sections.

Entering ENGINE allows riders to customise parameters of the engine to their taste or to suit the terrain and conditions they are about to face. It involves a basic ‘sliding scale’ approach, with several pre-sets allowing modifications of vital parameters such as ENGINE BRAKING, THROTTLE RESPONSE, TRACTION CONTROL and LAUNCH CONTROL. The changes made through the app are tangible, effective and very noticeable from the first metres of a new lap.

Selecting SUSPENSION means that riders can make their KTM SX-Fs even more specialized in terms of handling. It removes some of the guesswork to deal with hard-pack, muddy or sandy tracks thanks to the SAG ASSISTANT and the SUSPENSION SETTING recommendation. Again, the choices can be clear-cut for the first-term user but still a valuable guide for the experienced rider and racer.

Joachim Sauer, KTM Senior Product Manager Offroad: “It’s exciting to bring the myKTM app to the market. Allowing for a whole new spectrum of adjustment possibilities, this is a tool designed to enhance the riding experience and make every KTM SX-F rider get the best out of their bike. We’re happy with the versatility of the app and how alterations made with a smartphone can have such an interesting and immediate effect once out on the track. The work continues for us and for the foreseeable future we look at expanding the use and scope of myKTM to many more models from the KTM Offroad range.”

KTM Unveils 2021 KTM 250 SX-F Troy Lee Designs Motocross Machine

KTM is pleased to lift the covers off the 2021 KTM 250 SX-F TROY LEE DESIGNS, a special tribute to the collaboration with world-renown artist and designer Troy Lee and the highly successful Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/KTM Factory Racing team during the course of the last five years. Featuring KTM’s proprietary Connectivity Unit as standard, the new KTM 250 SX-F TROY LEE DESIGNS machine allows to explore the huge potential of the innovative myKTM app right from the crate.

Developed with feedback directly from elite Supercross and Motocross racers, the limited- edition KTM 250 SX-F TROY LEE DESIGNS comes with meticulously selected and race-derived upgrades over the already agile and powerful KTM 250 SX-F. Dunlop Geomax MX 33 tires put the power to the ground using the proven block-within-a-block design to keep driving forward. Factory triple clamps anodized in orange perfectly fit with the WP XACT forks and have a precisely calculated stiffness to match the flex characteristics of the frame and fork. The result is a front end that all works in perfect harmony, contributing to the bike’s next-level handling and stability.

The KTM 250 SX-F TROY LEE DESIGNS also comes with an Akrapovič Slip-On silencer as standard that further improves the low-end grunt of the 250 cc engine, while reducing weight thanks to its titanium construction. Designed to dominate the competition, a Factory start for the fork to lock in holeshots and a composite skid plate to protect vital components are also included. In addition, the bike has a semi-floating front disc ensuring maximum braking performance, a front brake disc guard, and a lightweight black aluminum rear sprocket. A billet Hinson clutch cover has been added for increased durability and to enhance the factory look.

Sure to catch a lot of attention out on the track, the special graphics found exclusively on the KTM 250 SX-F TROY LEE DESIGNS embrace the unique creativity that goes into every detail of the Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/KTM Factory Racing’s race day aesthetic. An iconic blue seat cover with silicone strips contributes to the bold looks of the bike and provides optimal feel and grip for the rider. The 2021 KTM 890 ADVENTURE R RALLY & KTM 890 ADVENTURE R Open New Horizons

Two stunning new KTM ADVENTURE machines are here to let riders #AdventureHarder and faster than ever before thanks to a series of upgrades and race-inspired specs. The exclusive 2021 KTM 890 ADVENTURE R RALLY and the updated KTM 890 ADVENTURE R capitalize on KTM’s achievements in the racing environment to embolden the brand’s prestige in the Travel sector.

Two years ago, KTM funneled track experience, premium technology and race-inspired design into some of the most versatile and exciting Adventure motorcycles to roll off the brand’s production lines. As a result, the KTM 790 ADVENTURE line-up quickened the pulse in the midweight segment. For 2021 and beyond, KTM is raising heart rates further with the launch of the KTM 890 ADVENTURE R RALLY and KTM 890 ADVENTURE R machines; a pair of new bikes based on new engine platforms with more power and torque, which are ready for extreme escapes off the beaten track.

In the KTM 890 ADVENTURE R RALLY, KTM is crafting one of the most desirable Adventure offerings in any catalog thanks to a series of components and settings derived from the efforts of the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Rally team. The data recorded across landscapes around the world has been analyzed and applied directly to the form of the KTM 890 ADVENTURE R RALLY.

Top of the range WP Pro Components ensure all-action, fully adjustable suspension while the power output of the new 4-stroke, twin, DOHC, Euro5-ready engine is boosted by an ultra-light Akrapovic silencer. The Ol’ Man, normally a cruiser rider, gives you his opinion about the naked super sport hyper naked crazy mental motorbike – get the gist?

KTM 450 SMR Roars To Racetracks Again

Seven years after KTM last fashioned the ultimate lightweight Supermoto powerhouse with the KTM 450 SMR, the motorcycle makes a stunning return for 2021. The supreme technical base of the championship-winning KTM 450 SX-F provides the platform for the factory to revamp and re-establish their Supermoto sporting prowess.

It’s been far too long since that last 450-gunned Supermoto power-drift, so KTM decided a renewal of their pedigree in the segment was long overdue. The company wanted to address a race bike ‘absence’ in their hefty arsenal and have taken great care to fabricate a brand-new version of their KTM 450 SMR for riders hungry for the track.

The KTM 450 SMR is a pure expression of the company’s philosophy: READY TO RACE direct from the dealership floor and with a standard setting of performance that will cause throttle hands to tremble. This is the complete Supermoto racer.

The heart of the 2021 KTM 450 SMR is provided by the decorated 450cc engine that made the KTM 450 SX-F such a formidable motocross and supercross weapon. The latest generation of 4-stroke engineering from the firm offers a 63hp boost at a weight a little over 27kg. The motor has been orientated in the frame to emphasize mass centralization: Supermoto riders and racers demand peak tactile feeling and contact with the asphalt and the ability to manipulate the condensed form of the KTM 450 SMR to their will. Underneath the SOHC cylinder head lives the 95mm bore lightweight aluminium cylinder, housing a 320g piston that pumps out mounds of torque while the strategically positioned crankshaft is another asset towards the bike’s centralized handling. A high-end conrod contributes to the long 100-hour service intervals.

Harnessing the potency of the engine is possible thanks to the PANKL Racing Systems 5-speed gearbox with an advanced sensor, permitting specific engine maps for each gear. A SUTER slipper clutch is added to enhance rear wheel stability: an essential ingredient for the Supermoto racer – and fan.

The output of the bike is molded through a special chromium molybdenum steel frame; the robotic welded fabrication of which ensures precision and quality. The torsion and flex characteristics are optimum for the use and purpose of the KTM 450 SMR and riders will not be disappointed – in fact they’ll be exhilarated – from the very first lap. Stability in a straight line to maximize grip and acceleration is complemented by the sensation of rapid ‘flickability’ that delivers reassuring feedback in droves. The chassis is robust but light; the 900g aluminum subframe is a key part. The frame is cast with 16mm offset through the CNC-machined triple clamps with three-way amendable handlebar adjustment. A die-cast swingarm is another featherweight chassis ingredient and means the wheelbase can be tweaked to optimize feel for any given track.

The triple clamps house the WP Suspension XACT front forks: a 48mm air type featuring AER technology with split damping function, and the mid-valve damping system is a hike in terms of performance. Supermoto competitors need deft connection with the Tarmac, but also trustworthy reactions from bumps and various conditions on the offroad sections, so the compact and light WP Suspension XACT rear shock is a valuable and fully adjustable component. The rear wheel travel of 266mm (285mm on the front) is part of a Supermoto-specific package where the linkage system and rear set geometry push usability and handling to the fore.

Stopping power is essential for the KTM 450 SMR and KTM rely on peerless partners BREMBO with premium 4-piston radial caliper and master cylinder on the front brake to convey the necessary mastery administered through the 310mm floating disc and dependability on the 220mm rear. Balance, belief and balls-out braking fun are definitely on the agenda with these specifications.

KTM knows that details can really make the difference to the entire motorcycle. R&D engineers wanted the KTM 450 SMR to strike an immediate impression. The radiator is built from strong aluminum and designed with computational fluid dynamics for maximum efficiency. The part is also placed to augment centralization. A 44mm Keihin throttle body means that delicate throttle response can be taken for granted and the complex Keihin Engine Management System regulates the rider’s personal needs for maps, launch control and traction control. A specifically designed airbox helps the engine generate the sensitive but fiery response a rider or racer needs. Extended thrills are possible due to the 7-litre fuel tank (with the fuel line tucked further into the bike and away from potential damage). Supermoto 16.5/17 ALPINA light, spoked tubeless wheels will carry the expected strength and are graced by Bridgestone slick tires. Expect the bike to really look the part with slim, race-friendly plastics and a graphic scheme apt for the first year of the new decade.

The KTM 450 SMR is back: Are you ready to get forward?

Out Now: The 2021 KTM 450 Rally Replica Gains Sharper Edge

KTM’s READY TO RACE mantra is perfectly channeled in the 2021 version of the KTM 450 RALLY REPLICA. In recent years, this limited production model has gained elevated status thanks to the components and performance that have come directly from requests by Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Toby Price, Matthias Walkner and Sam Sunderland. This is a motorcycle designed to excel in multi-stage cross-country rallies, to satisfy even the toughest demands of the rally racer and to win.

The fiery 450 cc SOHC fuel-injection motor is wrapped in a competition-based chassis with a series of finer details to denote the exclusivity of this machine. Those specs include refined WP XACT PRO closed cartridge suspension with sophisticated Cone Valve technology and purposeful aerodynamics and ergonomics crafted for peerless handling across a wide breadth of terrain.

For 2021, KTM has honed the engine package with a brand-new gearbox and revised shift mechanism. The direct influence of PANKL Racing Systems materials inside the KTM Motorsport department meant technicians were able to further hike the bike’s excellent reliability, but also benefit the rider with a larger gear spread.

The habits and styles of the three Red Bull KTM Factory Racing riders – all of whom have sampled Dakar Rally winning success in the last half a decade – assisted in the finalization of gearing ratios. The result is that the KTM 450 RALLY REPLICA now comes with the same gear ratios as those advocated on the machines of Dakar Rally champions.

Stefan Huber, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Rally Team Leader: “The work goes on! We’re proud of the 2021 KTM 450 RALLY REPLICA. With this model we have already set the bar very high in giving the customers a product so close to what we prepare and take to rallies across the world. Of course, we always make new discoveries, and this means the 2021 bike is a significant upgrade. The gearbox construction and configuration will make a difference to the riders who want to push the KTM 450 RALLY REPLICA. It is crucial for us to be able to transfer what we learn directly into the hands of KTM riders. We’re here to win races but making a better product is very important and satisfying. I personally look forward to seeing this incredible machine in racing action at the upcoming 2021 Dakar Rally!”

The 2021 KTM 450 RALLY REPLICA is a highly sought-after, limited edition model restricted to 85 units worldwide. The price tag is fixed at EUR 25.900 (plus VAT & shipping) with availability from September 2020 onwards. A service and support package is available for a limited number of riders at the Dakar Rally at an additional cost for all KTM Rally models. For more information, please refer to your authorized KTM dealer or visit www.ktm.com.

The 2021 KTM SX Range Reaches New Levels Of Technology And Performance

Drawing on feedback from elite racers, the 2021 KTM SX line-up introduces carefully considered refinements and performance updates across its range. Making a massive step forward, the 2021 KTM SX-F line-up offers wireless connectivity via the all-new myKTM app, a sophisticated yet highly accessible tool that launches a new era of efficient track-side bike tuning.

All of the laps, victories, trophies and technical research through Motocross and Supercross races have flowed into the enhancements and upgrades found in the 2021 KTM SX range: the widest and most technically advanced pool of READY TO RACE machinery available on the market to this date.

During 2019, KTM secured its fourth AMA 450SX Supercross Championship with Cooper Webb’s triumph on the KTM 450 SX-F FACTORY EDITION. In the FIM MXGP Motocross World Championship, KTM obtained 13 podium finishes with three different riders banking six wins aboard the KTM 450 SX-F.

The prolificacy of the KTM 250 SX-F continued in MX2, with Jorge Prado clinching his second FIM MX2 World Championship in 2019. Also, on the international stage, eight of the first nine positions in the 2019 FIM 125cc Motocross World Championship belonged to the KTM 125 SX and crowns were lifted in both the 85 cc and 65 cc divisions.

The feedback collected by racing achievements globally helped KTM R&D update the KTM SX model range for 2021 with two core objectives: to create the lightest, best-handling, most powerful, usable and well-equipped motocross bikes and to ensure that riders of any age or ability will find the exact technical package they require.

Improvements for 2021 across the full-size range focus on suspension and chassis modifications, tweaks to engine architecture to further enhance reliability, new Dunlop tires and a reworked graphics aesthetic. The WP XACT front forks and rear shocks have been overhauled with new components as well as being reconfigured with a slightly firmer standard setting to increase confidence and comfort across a wider spread of surfaces. Dunlop’s Geomax MX-33 is the rubber of choice for the KTM SX models thanks to its versatility and race proven performance.

As the flagship model in the 4-stroke range, the KTM 450 SX-F benefits from modifications to the piston, crankshaft, engine casing, rocker arms and shift locker to further hike the bike’s excellent reliability, shave more weight and aid practicality in terms of general maintenance.

In addition, the 2021 KTM 450 SX-F together with the new KTM 350 SX-F and KTM 250 SX-F machines can connect with the advanced myKTM app using an extra Connectivity Unit kit – available in the KTM PowerParts catalogue. With the bar-pad-integrated Connectivity Unit fitted and the myKTM app installed, riders can personalize their KTM SX-F according to their preferences and track conditions without technical assistance. Offering the finest technical touch, the myKTM app allows for a wide spectrum of adjustability on the fly, a privilege that was limited to elite KTM factory riders until recently.

As a towering example of power-to-weight ratio excellence in the KTM 2-stroke range, the 2021 KTM 125 SX is boldened with a fresh piston and clutch internals, with the treatment extending to the 250 cc-bothering KTM 150 SX.

KTM treats its Sportminicycle roster with the same ground-up priority for development as the full-size bikes. The KTM 85 SX, KTM 65 SX and KTM 50 SX & KTM 50 SX MINI therefore count on a new throttle assembly for better and smoother throttle action. For the KTM 85 SX, braking potential is much higher thanks to larger discs and a completely new front and rear brake system made by FORMULA. All three junior motocrossers now have a tapered handlebar allowing fitment of ODI lock-on grips. For the KTM 50 SX and KTM 50 SX MINI, the new tapered handlebar allows fitment of thinner grips.

“The development work never stops for our engineers here in Mattighofen or over in the USA. Gathering feedback from top-level Motocross and Supercross racers from every part of the world, for model year 2021 we are proud to introduce the most technically advanced line-up of motocrossers on the market. Class leaders in terms of performance, the 2021 models enjoy detailed refinements combined with updated racy looks across the range. For 2021, we are very pleased to introduce the myKTM app for all 4-stroke models, an advanced tool designed to help riders get the best out of their potential,” confirmed KTM´s Product Manager Offroad, Joachim Sauer.

To intensify the updated 2021 KTM SX and KTM Sportminicycles look no further than the KTM PowerParts range. Designed by the engineers in Austria, these premium components can take any KTM SX to new heights.

In addition, adult and junior riders alike can stay READY TO RACE with the KTM PowerWear collection. High-quality riding gear, premium protection and casual clothing are included in the KTM PowerWear line-up.

The 2021 KTM SX range will become available at KTM dealers worldwide from June 2020 onwards. For more info visit www.ktm.com.

Introducing a series of refinements and key touches to its advanced 2-stroke and 4-stroke model line-up for 2021, KTM has reinforced the best and most comprehensive Enduro range available in the market today.

For 2021 the combination of three 2-stroke models with the ground-breaking transfer port injection (TPI) system and four 4-strokes ensure that adult riders and racers of all ages and abilities will have the equipment to suit their needs whether for competition or the ultimate play weapon on the toughest trails around the globe.

As the latest expression of KTM’s offroad vision, the 2021 KTM EXC portfolio is denoted through a fresh and truly READY TO RACE livery. The major upgrades for 2021 take the form of changes to suspension components, as well as engine reinforcements and brand-new graphics.

The KTM 300 EXC TPI is the leading 2-stroke with an impressive power-to-weight ratio and supreme handling to thrill even the most demanding rider. 2021 marks the fourth year of KTM’s advanced and electronically controlled 2-stroke fuel injection system. Breathing new life into the 2-stroke engine, TPI extended the possibilities for performance, rider sensation and the delivery of dependable power right into the rider’s fingers. The advantages are obvious: there is no need for re-jetting or concern for the climate, altitude or conditions. Automatic and electronically applied lubrication is another major asset.

As with all KTM EXC motorcycles in the 2021 ensemble, the KTM 300 EXC TPI benefits from an additional preload adjuster in the WP XPLOR front fork that allows for easy setting changes for varying track or trail conditions. Additionally, the ultra-lightweight KTM 150 EXC TPI has been given a new piston, which brings increased performance in terms of consistency.

KTM refuses to knock down a gear in its mission to continue making the KTM EXC-F models the best 4-stroke Enduro machines in the market. The level of the 2021 KTM EXC-F models not only ensures their presence near the top of race standings, but also makes them serious consideration for riders of any skill range. While the KTM 350 EXC-F is the definitive statement of a bike that welds the power of a 450 with the handling prowess of a 250, the new KTM 450 EXC-F and rasping KTM 500 EXC-F powerhouses take advantage of reworked shift lockers.

The 2021 KTM EXC range is further enhanced by the KTM EXC SIX DAYS models and the KTM 300 EXC TPI ERZBERGRODEO, a series of limited-edition machines designed to conquer the toughest trails and most demanding races. The new KTM 300 EXC TPI ERZBERGRODEO is a special tribute to the iconic ErzbergRodeo Red Bull Hare Scramble. A truly limited-edition machine, the KTM 300 EXC TPI ERZBERGRODEO features a long list of special parts that reinforce its READY TO RACE bloodline.

The updated KTM EXC SIX DAYS range continues a tradition that sees KTM enhance its Enduro line-up with a series of truly race-ready machines. For 2021, the KTM EXC SIX DAYSmodels demonstrate KTM’s continuous support to the historic International Six Days Enduro. In each of these models, KTM has developed a race-winning package that is ready for the hardest special tests straight out of the crate.

Alongside the 2021 KTM EXC models, dedicated line-ups of KTM PowerWear and KTM PowerParts have been developed to deliver the highest levels of performance, protection and agility for both the rider and their motorcycle.

Bikes will be arriving in dealers from July onwards. For more information visit: www.ktm.com/enduro-2021.

All details for each of the 2021 KTM EXC models will be available on www.ktm.com from June 22 onwards.

KTM Reveal Triple Model Threat at EICMA 2019

KTM revealed their latest innovations on the first day of the EICMA motorcycle show in Milan, Italy. The company unveiled three brand new models – the KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE R, the KTM 890 DUKE R, and the KTM 390 ADVENTURE – as well as displaying their full range of motorcycles for 2020. Pride of place was reserved for KTM’s outstanding achievements in the world of racing with the KTM 450 RALLY, the KTM 250 SX-F, the KTM 300 EXC TPI and the KTM RC16 (MotoGP™) prominent.

The KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE R has been ‘re-Beasted’. KTM’s flagship bike has won rave reviews by catering for the preferences and skills of a vast range of motorcyclists and has undergone its most radical re-invention yet for 2020. A completely new chassis, styling and electronics mean the KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE R has trimmed weight across the board, while a reworked LC8 engine has unleashed even more power.

KTM have increased their potency in the midweight segment with the new KTM 890 DUKE R. Foregoing some of the excellent daily capabilities of its younger brother, the KTM 790 DUKE, the KTM 890 DUKE R is a sportier and edgier naked bike for hard riding. More power and more torque come from the new engine, which has been teamed with racier ergonomics, better brakes and fully adjustable WP APEX suspension. The KTM 890 DUKE R is ideal for the motorcyclist wanting a more extreme experience or searching for bigger thrills and flickability compared to a larger capacity model.

The new KTM 390 ADVENTURE has harnessed the attributes and DNA from the popular and highly rated KTM 790 ADVENTURE, as well as the development information learnt from nearly two decades of Dakar Rally success. An agile and ideal entry model for riders keen to discover the Adventure sensation, this motorcycle offers added versatility for touring and light offroading. Using elements of the KTM 390 DUKE as a base, the KTM 390 ADVENTURE offers proximity to the feeling and performance found at the root of the all-conquering KTM 450 RALLY but with crucial A2 license compatibility and current Euro emissions standards as part of the package.

KTM welcomes a ninth consecutive year of growth and another sales record in 2019 while continuing to pursue an even greater global market share and further consolidation as Europe’s leading manufacturer. KTM will also be seeking to build on the strengths of their dealer network and international strategic partnerships.

After a grand opening this summer, the work, innovation and history of the brand is now fabulously displayed in a visual and interactive manner at KTM’s new Motohall, located in Mattighofen. Mr. Trunkenpolz, together with KTM Motorsport Director Pit Beirer, also took time to reference the impact and importance of MotoGP™ and the firm’s presence at the elite level of racing as the conclusion of a third season in Grand Prix draws near.

There was considerable interest in a number of other motorcycles, especially the new KTM SX-E 5; an adjustable and versatile junior electric bike that has the potential to introduce a vast fresh generation to the buzz of riding.

In what is now customary fashion, KTM celebrated their competitive triumphs for the year. The Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Team earned their 18th Dakar success as well as the FIM Cross Country Rallies World Championship with two different riders. The KTM 450 SX-F was the basis for Cooper Webb’s rookie AMA 450SX Championship win and victories for Tony Cairoli, Jeffrey Herlings, and Glenn Coldenhoff in MXGP. Spanish sensation Jorge Prado used the KTM 250 SX-F to accumulate a record amount of Grand Prix holeshots and won his second consecutive MX2 title. KTM recently launched the KTM 450 SX-F CAIROLI and KTM 250 SX-F PRADO limited editions in recognition of their feats.

Back on the slicks, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing made fantastic progress in MotoGP™ with four bikes on the premier class grid, two front row starts and a slew of top ten results from the 19 rounds of a season that is still delivering thrills. Moto2™ and Moto3™ victories were acknowledged and celebrated.

KTM announced that the fourth instalment of the unique European KTM ADVENTURE RALLY will take place in Greece in June 2020. A KTM ADVENTURE RALLY is the company’s scheme for Adventure riders who want to fully embrace the KTM READY TO RACE spirit and share offroad experiences in incredible surroundings to form unforgettable memories with likeminded motorcyclists, including KTM Ambassadors and factory riders.

KTM look to 2020 with great optimism. The surge of almost 10 years of expansion shows no signs of slowing as the company evolves their R&D activities and output for both STREET and OFFROAD markets, fueled by their racing endeavors. They will look to further consolidate their position as the continent’s #1 manufacturer while also exploring other areas of global growth.

KTM Announces Prado And Cairoli Special Edition Models

2019 was a year of domination for KTM’s Jorge Prado where the young Spaniard demonstrated his talent, dedication and consistency to take his second consecutive FIM MX2 Motocross World Championship title. With 31 moto wins and 16 overalls including 14 1-1 finishes this season, the 18-year-old has been nothing short of exceptional aboard his Red Bull KTM Factory Racing KTM 250 SX-F, which earned its 11th title win from the last 12 campaigns. In celebration of Prado’s incredible year, KTM is pleased to announce the limited edition KTM 250 SX-F PRADO MY2020.

This READY TO RACE machine offers premium components such as Factory triple clamps anodized in orange, a composite skid plate and a Selle Dalla Valle Factory seat. In addition, it has a race-inspired orange frame, semi-floating front disc, a front brake disc guard, an orange rear sprocket, a Regina gold chain and of course Red Bull KTM Factory Racing style graphics with Prado’s number ‘61’ front and rear. For riders who want the sharpest weapon with an exclusive specification, they should look no further than the KTM 250 SX-F PRADO.

To have a production bike with the number ‘61’ on it is something that you can only dream of as a child – it’s really special and I think it looks great. We’ve had a fantastic season and I’d like to thank KTM for this celebration of our success together. It’s really cool. I am very proud to be part of the Orange family and it’s a big honor to see the KTM 250 SX-F PRADO machine go into production,” confirms Prado.

When it comes to a championship-winning pedigree, the KTM 450 SX-F is a model developed in racing with victory in mind. A lot of this incredible bike’s success can be associated with legendary rider Antonio ‘Tony’ Cairoli, who continues to build a legacy thanks to his nine world championship titles and continued presence at the sharp end of the MXGP field.

Cairoli helped shape the latest generation of this proven race-winner, which is simply the most competitive Motocross bike out on track. In tribute, KTM would like to announce the launch of the KTM 450 SX-F CAIROLI MY2020. This bike is even more READY TO RACE and like the KTM 250 SX-F PRADO, it enjoys exquisite features as well as exclusive Red Bull KTM Factory Racing graphics with Cairoli’s globally recognised ‘222’ number.

My bike is something really special to me and over the years we have made so many big steps in development of the KTM 450 SX-F as we hunted success at the races. A lot of work went into the latest generation of the 450 and I love racing as much as I always have. To have this tribute from KTM is very humbling. To see riders out there with the number 222 on a bike that looks so much like my Red Bull KTM Factory Racing machine is really cool. It’s an exceptional bike that has been developed by the best engineers in the world, and this is a really special model. I look forward to seeing them out there,” said Cairoli.

At KTM we are proud to have two of the world’s greatest Motocross athletes influence the development of our machines and we are happy to take full advantage of it. In celebration of Prado’s incredible season and in tribute to Cairoli’s continued success in MXGP we decided to build two special models that feature some premium components and a true Factory look, which will be available during the final quarter of 2019,” told KTM Senior Product Manager Offroad, Joachim Sauer.

The KTM 450 SX-F CAIROLI will arrive in KTM dealers across Europe at the end of October, whilst the KTM 250 SX-F PRADO will be available in December.

For more information, visit your local KTM dealer or head to www.ktm.com.

Adventure With No Limit: Introducing The KTM 790 Adventure R Rally

KTM lifts the covers off its most hardcore Adventure bike for 2020 – the limited edition KTM 790 ADVENTURE R RALLY

Restricted to just 500 units worldwide, the third and newest member of the KTM 790 ADVENTURE family is positioned as the most travel capable rally bike. For those riders who demand the most hardcore performance and the very best suspension equipment available, this is the machine that will easily cross continents in order to ride to the start line of a rally.

Based heavily on the KTM 790 ADVENTURE R, this exclusive model retains the same steel trellis chassis and the potent and compact 95hp LC8c parallel twin engine, with the major component difference being the addition of the special WP XPLOR PRO suspension. Built in the same department as WP’s Factory Racing equipment, it offers similar levels of performance for extreme riding. An additional 30mm of suspension travel front and back helps clear the most awkward obstacles and also creates a seat height of 910mm for this special model.

The WP XPLOR PRO 7548 fork uses cone valve technology; a unique valving system that permits almost limitless damping performance and combines comfort with bottoming resistance. Setting levels that normally can only be achieved by changing the shim stack can now be adjusted from the outside. The cone valve allows unlimited opening, so any harshness of the suspension is reduced.

The high quality and fully adjustable WP XPLOR PRO 6746 shock absorber for the KTM 790 ADVENTURE R RALLY has been developed based on KTM’s unrivalled experience from top-level rally competition. Due to modern, low-friction components, the shock absorber shows a significant increase in its damping performance and reduces the physical strain for riders. The shock absorber employs a progressive damping system (PDS) and has completely – and easily – adjustable damping behaviour. To emphasize its READY TO RACE credentials, along with the WP XPLOR PRO suspension the KTM 790 ADVENTURE R RALLY features a weight-saving Akrapovič exhaust, carbon fibre tank protectors and Quickshifter+ as standard. Easily distinguished by its unique color and graphic design with a clear screen and winglets, this special edition model comes with narrower rims fitted with tubes for hard offroad conditions, a high, straight racing seat to improve racing ergonomics and Rally footrests for comfort and grip when standing for long days.

Hubert Trunkenpolz (CMO KTM AG): “Quite simply, we’ve built the KTM 790 ADVENTURE R RALLY because we can! At KTM we continually try to push ourselves and the development of our products – this is the READY TO RACE way. We have the equipment at our disposal and we know how to make a truly special bike for our hardcore customers. With its Pro Components range, WP offers suspension close to the same level used by the Dakar-winning Red Bull KTM Factory Racing Rally team on the KTM 450 RALLY. The new KTM 790 ADVENTURE R RALLY is exactly as it says: A rally bike ready for any adventure.”

Further details on pricing, availability and the ordering process for purchasing one of the limited number KTM 790 ADVENTURE R RALLY machines will be announced in the months to come.
