The X-Line range, made up of bags that easily adapt to different types of riding, from touring to adventure, and which are manufactured with high quality materials, adds a new member to the line in 2023: the XL08. SHARK’s latest UN ECE 22.06 certified full-face helmet – the Skwal i3 – is now available in UK dealers.
The brand-new helmet features two brand-new patented technologies and integrated active brake lights for ‘Intelligent Visibility’.
Designed without the need for Bluetooth or wires, the innovative LED system offers active brake lights as standard with industry-leading tech that uses an inbuilt triaxial accelerometer to activate the red LED’s on the rear of the helmet when braking. There are white LEDs located on the front of the helmet for active rider visibility to oncoming traffic.
When the unit is turned on, there are a total of three modes to choose from:
White LEDs on front and red LEDs on back constantly on – smart brake lights flash when braking.
White LEDs on front and red LEDs on back flashing – smart brake lights flash when braking.
White LEDs on front and red LEDs on back off – smart brake lights flash when braking.
The smart brake lights will flash three times per second under steady braking and five times per second under hard braking conditions.
The integrated battery is charged via a USB-C cable with three hours of charge offering 12 hours of usage. Sleep mode activates after two minutes of no movement and after 24 hours the unit will turn off completely to reserve battery.

The Italian firm adds three new versions to the 60.1 helmet, bringing the number of colour variants to 13 which will suit the tastes of all bikers.
GIVI’S first off-road helmet, the 60.1, was born less than a year ago. It was the result of countless hours of research, laboratory tests and various competition tests carried out by Simone Cristini, a World Enduro rider who worked with the transalpine firm on the helmet’s design. The multitude of graphics and variants available on this model mean it is sure to match with any of the best-selling enduro bikes currently on the market. Two new versions of its already well-known Invert graphics as well as the Gloom, a completely new design which features an innovative and rogue aesthetic, are new for 2023.
GIVI is a benchmark in the motorbike and motorcyclist accessories sector, partly due to its highly developed R&D department. Throughout the design process at its Brescia factory, GIVI believes it’s essential to listen to its users’ needs. Often when we buy something for our motorbike, it can be difficult to understand the instruction manual to mount it, to know what accessories we can add to it or even to manage its warranty. GIVI, the Italian motorbike and motorcycling equipment company, launched the first version of the MAXIA top case, the E50, in 1991. 32 years later, the essence of that first top case has been maintained, with which the brand sought to solve the need for extra space of those who get about on a motorbike or travel longer distances on it. But everything else has evolved into a high-end product with the latest technology, a top case whose versatility makes it an unbeatable option for urbanites as well as for those who enjoy long trips on two wheels.
The versatile fifth version of this iconic suitcase is a complete redesign, where elegance and sophistication are still present, but with a futuristic character. Thanks to the application of the Innovative Molding process, the MAXIA 5, features an optimised weight of 5.4 kilos and boasts a greater strength than its predecessor. Its total capacity is 58 litres (the size of two modular helmets), making it the largest plastic top case from GIVI in its sector. In addition, its bottom is covered with a mat to prevent objects from sliding around and it has a cover to store documentation.
It’s also equipped with a Security Lock (double hook lock for greater security) and opening and closing is much easier than the previous model, thanks to the incorporation of comb-type hinges with end stop. As a result, it’s only necessary to exert light pressure on the lid to close it. What’s more, the adhesion between lid and bottom has been improved, thus increasing the case’s anti-theft security.
The MAXIA 5 top case features four customisable aluminium-coloured overlaps (which improve the aforementioned resistance), a red reflector that runs along the entire front of the lid and two chrome-plated trims on the front of the bottom.

The great evolution of the transalpine company has led it to achieve the greatest comfort, style and safety in head protection on a motorbike.
GIVI, motorcycle and motorcyclist equipment brand, has been working for more than 20 years in the design and manufacture of top level helmets. Two decades in which, through innovation, active listening and constant effort, it has achieved that its products reach the highest levels of quality and safety, becoming one of the first manufacturers to launch models on the market that have passed the tough and demanding tests of the ECE 22-06 standard.
1920 marked the beginning of the technical evolution of motorcycling helmets with the first soft leather models derived from the world of aviation. Thirty years later, jet helmets appeared and in the 1970s the first full-face helmet was developed. It was around this time – in 1978 to be precise – that GIVI was founded by Giuseppe Visenzi as a manufacturer of motorbike accessories. But it was not until 2002 that the transalpine company began its journey in the world of helmets, with the 10.1 jet. Two decades have passed since then, a time in which it has continued to produce and improve its products to the point it has become a reference in a sector that has recently seen the approval of a new and demanding regulation: ECE 22.06.
With the 10.1, the Italian brand managed to catch up with its rivals. Despite marking GIVI’s beginning in the sector, the jet included a removable visor and adjustable air intake – features on a par with the competition’s models.
Their first modular, the X.08, came out in 2008 with the same features as most helmets in the industry, with two different sizes of thermoplastic shells depending on size and a synthetic polyester foam liner. What’s more, there was a micrometric quick release fastener to speed up putting the helmet on and taking it off.
In 2013 it launched its first full-face model, the X.01. Made of thermoplastic with an EPS interior and a synthetic polyester fabric lining bonded with polyurethane foam, it more than met the standards of the time. It also had a ZSP Micro 01 micrometric closure with a polyester strap, features and materials that, although they have improved over the years, are still present in GIVI helmets.
GIVI’s path in this sector wasn’t an easy one. They had to carve out a niche in a sector filled with brands and specialists who boasted years of experience. It wasn’t enough for them to have earned a leading position in the production of motorbike and scooter accessories. So they set up an in-house laboratory with state-of-the-art technology and specialised engineers and technicians. Here they carry out crash tests and recreate all possible riding situations, taking into account atmospheric conditions and simulating the tests that the helmet has to pass in order to achieve certification. All this is what has made the difference, allowing the brand to quickly catch up with its competitors.
All the helmets mentioned above, as well as the rest of the previous GIVI ranges, have been tested under the ECE 22-05 standard since its inception as a helmet manufacturer. Therefore, the enormous trajectory of its R&D department, together with its experience in carrying out the tests required by this standard, has led to the production of increasingly safer helmets. And with the incorporation of the ECE 22-06 homologation, their adaptation to it has been much quicker, simpler and more efficient.
Thanks to their long history of developing and testing these products, last year GIVI launched models with the new standard. Their first off-road helmet, the 60.1, together with the 50.9 and 50.8 full-face helmets, presented at EICMA 2021, were the first with ECE 22-06 homologation, demonstrating had successfully anticipated its obligatory nature. From that moment on, the new GIVI helmets are produced under this standard and work is already underway on the homologation of all its previous models that are still on the market.
With this, GIVI proves it’s at the forefront, not only in the motorbike accessories sector, but also in the motorbike equipment sector. This is the perfect end to 20 years of history as a helmet manufacturer, and the road ahead is full of innovation and quality.

Nolangroup presents two new full-face helmets: Nolan N80-8 and N60-6.
It was in 1972 that Nolan presented the N01, the first injection-moulded jet helmet in LEXANTM polycarbonate. In 2022 the company will celebrate 50 years of history and continues to offer the market helmets that have contributed to the involvement of the sector, with the same passion that it has always demonstrated. In 2022, Nolangroup will be celebrating 50 years of Italian manufacturing history. Its sponsorship of the Made in Italy and Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix represents the first stage of celebrations. Accompanied by Casey Stoner and the riders Danilo Petrucci, Álex Rins and Arón Canet, the CEO of NolangroupEnzo Panacci took the opportunity to sum up the company’s current economic situation, which is approaching this important anniversary with record results.
“We are truly proud to be representing Italy in this prestigious sports event. The Nolan Made in Italy and Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix is an important showcase for our company, not only for the media attention that the event attracts, but also for its very name, which once again underlines one of our strengths: made in Italy quality. It is here, from the track side at Misano, that I would like to highlight the latest economic results. Nolangroup is closing the 2020/21 period with a turnover of 50 million euros, seeing an increase of 25% over the previous year and an EBITDA of around 9 million” – stated Enzo Panacci.
The company, the number one manufacturer in Europe, with 400,000 helmets per year under the Nolan, X-lite and Grex brands exported to 85 countries worldwide, has managed to face up to the pandemic, thanks to the constant efforts in Research and Development and the contribution of its 400 employees working at the production plants in Brembate di Sopra (in the province of Bergamo). Since the beginning, Nolangroup has been running its entire manufacturing chain in Italy, an additional aspect that renders the company unique.
