IZI’s Ride’ – a unique Custom Shotgun 650

‘IZI’s Ride’ – a unique Custom Shotgun 650 exclusively designed for Netflix’s new feature film ‘THE KITCHEN’

In late 2021 – Royal Enfield, the world’s oldest motorcycle manufacturer in continual production, was shared the script to a new Netflix film, about to start production; co-directed, co-written and co-produced by Oscar and Golden Globe winning Daniel Kaluuya, with Top Boy’s Kane Robinson, a.k.a Kano in the lead role.

A unique challenge was laid to Royal Enfield – to design a one-of-a-kind motorcycle to perfectly fit into the near-future world of ‘THE KITCHEN’. Set in a dystopian London where inequality is unchecked and social segregation based upon income and racial lines is endemic, Izi (played by Kano) and Benji (played by Jedaiah Bannerman, in his debut role) fight to navigate the world they find themselves in. As life-long residents of ‘The Kitchen’, a community existing in one of London’s last-remaining housing estates that refuses to succumb to demands of oppressive authoritarian forces, Izi and Benji face challenges and questions that will alter their futures forever.

The Royal Enfield custom build would play an integral part of the film’s narrative, as well as being a source of status, independence and identity to the life of Izi – Kano’s character. And so, in creative collaboration with London based multidisciplinary artist and musician Gaika Tavares (brother of the film’s co-director Kibwe Tavares), the in-house Custom Team at Royal Enfield’s UK Technology Centre began a creative process of conceptual ideation to develop a machine that would feel fully integrated into this unique landscape.

The boundaries of functionality, form and aesthetics were pushed to the nth degree with each of the multiple sub-designs that were brought to the creative table for consideration. Some designs were heavily inspired by iconic sci-fi references, some were more brutalist and neo-retro in their look and feel, and others played homage to certain aspects of cyber-punk film culture and nods to nostalgic street fashion. Through a process of creative refinement and amalgamation, taking cues and inspiration from the various directions – an anarchic custom ‘mutant’ was born.

Built upon the brand-new Shotgun 650 platform, ‘IZI’s Ride’ is a bold tribute to this very culture of customisation embedded into the DNA of the Royal Enfield brand and celebrates the unique sense of individuality that defines any custom build. Paying homage to its precursor, the SG650 Concept (shown for the first time at EICMA 2021) with its neo-dystopian design and radical aesthetics, ‘IZI’s Ride’ pushes the limits to what the customs of tomorrow could potentially look like.

Custom features developed for ‘IZI’s Ride’ include:

● Front and rear wheel hub covers – rapid prototype
● Monocoque tank & seat unit cover – rapid prototype and milled foam
● Integrated perspex and LED tail lamp
● New sub-frame – fabricated steel
● Replacement side covers – rapid prototype
● Front fork covers with integrated LED lighting – rapid prototyping and milling
● Swingarm covers – rapid prototyping
● Bespoke colour and graphics – paint and vinyl

Says Adrian Sellers, Head of Royal Enfield’s Custom & Motorsport programme; “We’re really excited to write another chapter in the rapidly evolving story of Royal Enfield design and customisation with ‘IZI’s Ride’. It’s been a real honour and certainly a first for us as a brand to be so prominently involved in a major Netflix film, and to take design inspiration and start the conceptualisation process quite literally from reading the pages of a major film script written by an Oscar winner. To have the opportunity to work with such a wide team of incredible creatives, actors, directors and designers all at the very top of their game was an experience we’ve relished.”

“It is always exciting to design for a ‘what if…’ scenario, to really push the bounds of convention and fulfil a creative brief that’s quite like no other that’s come our way before. The constructed world of ‘The Kitchen’ is so incredibly visceral, and so masterfully engineered by the production and directorial team, that to create a motorcycle that would feel utterly believable and at home within such a future-dystopian environment while at the same time be instantly recognizable in carrying Royal Enfield’s custom DNA was a real challenge. In fact, we ended up creating two identical motorcycles as there were a number of requirements in the script for the bike to be crashed, scraped and generally thrown about. The riding scenes and the stunt work in the film are very impressive, and the film certainly shines a light on various elements of underground bike subcultures which are largely misunderstood. The whole project was wonderfully collaborative and rewarding to develop, requiring the creative input of many different aspects of our internal design team – from Industrial Design to Color Trim and Graphics and CGI – as well as drawing upon the vision and creativity of such a renowned and respected artist as Gaika. Each member contributed their own piece to the puzzle in bringing this iconic build to life.”

Royal Enfield Debuts The Shotgun 650

Royal Enfield debuts the Shotgun 650 a motorcycle inspired by custom, for custom.

After a spectacular debut of a very special limited edition motorcycle at Motoverse 2023 – the Shotgun 650 Motoverse Edition – Royal Enfield today debuted the production version of the Shotgun 650. A stunning, one-of-its-kind custom inspired motorcycle, the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 will be available in four unique colourways Stencil White, Plasma Blue, Green Drill and Sheetmetal Grey.

Siddhartha Lal, Managing Director & CEO of Eicher Motors Ltd., says “The Shotgun 650 is inspired by the work of our custom community and our years of work with them. It is a retro-futuristic interpretation of what a factory custom motorcycle with thoroughbred Royal Enfield DNA would look like. A shape-shifting machine that defies categorization, both in form and in spirit, the Shotgun 650 is something absolutely new and different. It is super fun to ride with confidence inspiring ride ergonomics and handles well in downtown city streets, through twisties and powers through straight highways. The Shotgun 650 is our attempt to bring niche and newer categories of motorcycles to growing enthusiasts of self-expression”.

Built on Royal Enfield’s globally proven 650-Twin platform, the Shotgun 650 is a tribute to the culture of customisation and a new chapter in design for Royal Enfield with an exciting vision of the future. With its retro-futuristic design the Shotgun 650 pays homage to its precursor, the SG650 Concept – showcased at EICMA 2021- and celebrates creativity, as a blank canvas for customization and personalisation for thousands of riders across the world.

Commenting about the ‘heart’ of the new motorcycle, its engine, B Govindarajan, CEO – Royal Enfield, says, “The Shotgun 650 is a very unique motorcycle within our portfolio, but at its heart is the same Royal Enfield pure motorcycling DNA. The 648cc parallel twin engine that powers this machine is a characterful and versatile platform that is capable of adapting to any kind of riding form and format. On the new mould-breaking Shotgun 650, this engine fuels an extremely engaging and joyful ride with power for real world usage, strong mid-ranges and with ample torque across the board. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed creating and riding the Shotgun 650, and are super happy to present this to the world of motorcycle expressionists”

In the true spirit of customization, the new Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 is a motorcycle defined by its rider. Its all new bodywork and stance is a blank canvas, defying traditional categorisation of motorcycling and taking on a personality of its rider. Its modular design enables it to switch between three modes—from single seater to double seater to luggage-carrying tourer, with ease. With the twist of a key, the pillion seat pops off, offering ultimate flexibility. For those seeking an engaging and aggressive ride, or for those looking for a more chilled out experience, the Shotgun 650 effortlessly obliges with its upright and confident riding position that encourages both, and adapts to the rider’s mood and style of riding.

Speaking about the design and development journey of the Shotgun 650, Mark Wells, Chief of Design, said, “The story of Royal Enfield is one of customization. Our customers have been taking our motorcycles and personalising them for decades. Looking to that rich creative culture for inspiration, we unleashed our designers to ideate in that same spirit of unfettered imagination. The resulting design is both fresh and respectful of our heritage and a future vision of what a custom Royal Enfield could look like years down the road.”

With the globally award-winning 650 Twin platform at its core, the Shotgun 650 is loaded with a double barrel of fun. It is ergonomically optimised, with mid-set foot position, a low 795mm seat height and an intuitive handlebar position that give the rider a commanding sense of presence and control, while the floating single seat is both retro and modern at the same time. The Shotgun’s specially tuned suspension with 43mm dia. separate function big piston Showa forks on the front, twin tube 5-step preload adjust RSU at the back, 1465mm wheelbase and a low centre of gravity come together to make riding in traffic, on highways and down twisty back roads equally fun, without compromising on comfort. Wide 18” front and 17” rear tubeless tyres, combined with 320mm and 300mm disc brakes, ensure a steady grip, keeping you engaged and in control at all speeds.

The Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 blends retro-futuristic design with modern features. An LED headlamp fitted in a gorgeous custom, neo-modern nacelle stays true to the neo-retro fusion aesthetic while offering improved visibility. The motorcycle has a digi-analogue instrument cluster, which comes equipped with the Tripper navigation system and is designed to deliver all the information you need as you head out. It also features a USB charging port to keep your devices charged on the go.

Continuing the concept of customization and personalization, a diverse range of 31 Genuine Motorcycle Accessories for the Shotgun 650, have been designed to further highlight the custom aesthetic, bar end mirrors, a sculpted solo seat and contrast-cut billet rims are available.

Test ride bookings and retail begins across Europe from the 1st February, with four unique colourways available; Stencil White, Plasma Blue, Green Drill and Sheetmetal Grey, starting from £6,699.

Royal Enfield Unveils The Shotgun 650

Royal Enfield unveils the Shotgun 650 – a custom inspired neo-retro motorcycle.

After decades of inspiring as well as being inspired by custom culture, Royal Enfield has unveiled a stunning, one-of-its-kind, custom-inspired roadster.

The Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 made its global debut in Goa today, at Motoverse 2023. While the continuous production motorcycle itself will be launched early next year, the Shotgun 650 Motoverse Edition is a limited release, custom-designed colourway, only 25 of which will be available for reservation until 25th November at midnight. Available exclusively for the Motoverse community, nothing like these machines will ever be made again, making the event a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own this collectable motorcycle.

Built on Royal Enfield’s 650-Twin platform, the Shotgun 650 Motoverse Edition is a tribute to the culture of customisation. It pays homage to its precursor, the SG650 Concept, with its neo-destopian design and celebrates the possibilities offered by Royal Enfield motorcycles as a canvas for the most creative minds in motorcycling.

Speaking about the launch of this new motorcycle, Siddhartha Lal, Managing Director of Eicher Motors Ltd., said, “The Shotgun 650 is a drop-dead gorgeous, custom-inspired motorcycle that brings together more than a century of Royal Enfield’s pure motorcycling DNA with the renegade spirit of custom culture. The objective was to build this modular, shape-shifting machine that is almost like a mutant disguised as a motorcycle. Powered by our award-winning 650-Twin platform, and an absolute delight to ride on straights and the twisties, the Shotgun 650 is our attempt to bring niche and newer categories of motorcycles to growing enthusiasts of self-expression across the world”

The Motoverse edition of the Shotgun 650 takes inspiration from the motorcycles of the future. Its custom- designed, hand-painted body features a carefully crafted gradient and neon detailing that no factory can produce. Each of these 25 motorcycles have been customised over months, making it unlike any other Royal Enfield or unlike any other motorcycle on the road today.

Speaking about the inspiration and the design of the motorcycle, Mark Wells, Chief of Design at Royal Enfield, said, “Designing the Shotgun 650 Motoverse Edition was an exhilarating journey for the design team into the future of Royal Enfield. After we had shown the SG650 Concept at EICMA in 2021, it gathered huge interest from international custom builders and got heads turning, so much so that we decided to build it as a production motorcycle. The Shotgun 650 Motoverse Edition is built by the same team that designed the Concept and is therefore remarkably close to the concept – much more so than is usually possible. It retains the cast aluminium nascelle, chopped fenders, angular bodywork and that confident, aggressive stance. At the heart of this motorcycle is the simplicity of its form and the pure metal composition that is testament to its inspiration – custom culture. The Shotgun 650 offers a perfect canvas for experienced builders as well as for someone who is just starting on their journey of customization.”

The Shotgun 650 takes Royal Enfield’s legacy of customization further by offering a canvas that allows motorcyclists to make a statement without sacrificing the benefits of Royal Enfield’s dedicated after-sales service ecosystem. Conceived as a revolutionary neo-retro roadster, the intent of the Shotgun 650 was to break free from historical constraints while preserving the brand’s core DNA. The motorcycle represents a harmonious blend of tradition and progress, with meticulously made aluminium parts that seamlessly integrate classic aesthetics with modern graphics. Featuring a revolutionary modular design, the Shotgun 650 is capable of transforming from a classic single-seater to a dual-seater to a weekend tourer in minutes, inviting riders to embark on a journey of personalization like never before. Its tight proportions and low-slung silhouette allow for planted handling with optimum ergonomics.

The tank, closely matching that of the SG650 concept, represents a new direction while respecting Royal Enfield’s historical forms, as do the unique ten spoke wheel rims with integrated ABS. The front suspension features upside down forks and an integrated aluminium top yoke with low-rise extra-wide handlebars. At the rear, twin shocks are mounted to the iconic chassis loop, with a hand-stitched black leather floating solo seat that showcases contemporary craftsmanship with a nod to the past. The Shotgun 650 is built on the robust 650cc platform, celebrated for its impressive performance and adaptability. The engine, a blacked-out 650-Twin with all new gloss black engine covers, is paired with a custom exhaust system that heralds the aesthetics of the future, while simultaneously harking back to the joy of an aural experience that has long been the hallmark of Royal Enfield. The motorcycle comes preloaded with bespoke Royal Enfield Genuine motorcycle accessories such as bar end mirrors and LED black indicators. In addition to this, the limited edition motorcycle will be offered with extended warranty.

The exclusive, limited production Shotgun 650 Motoverse Edition embodies the spirit of originality and self- expression, guaranteeing its owners access to an exclusive club that owns a unique piece of the brand’s heritage. The always-on production motorcycle will be launched early next year across the world, starting with Europe and India.

King Nerd X HNTR 350 Collaboration Revealed

Royal Enfield, the global leader in the mid-size (250cc-750cc) motorcycle segment, announced a dynamic collaboration with London based artist, designer and engraver Johnny Dowell, otherwise known as King Nerd, who has gained a cult following by combining old and new aesthetics in his distinctive style.

Whether it’s creating bespoke watches, designing limited edition footwear or engraving bespoke pieces, Johnny’s work is instantly recognisable and coveted by hypebeasts and celebrities alike. He may have been trained to the highest standards by a centuries old luxury institution, but his own sensibilities lean towards streetwear, ‘90s Hip-Hop and the city that made him who he is – London.

As a lifelong motorcycle fan, there was one Royal Enfield model that spoke to Johnny more than any other, the urban inspired HNTR 350 mirrors the King Nerd ethos of classic-meets-contemporary and it was designed for the city streets that inspired his style growing up. Dialling up the HNTR 350’s city-focused design even further, the HNTR X King Nerd project pulls together all of Johnny’s inspirations into five dynamic neon colourways united by a common urban survival theme.

Developed from the ground-up, and built to have a strong Royal Enfield character combined with fresh and appealing compact urban design, the HNTR 350 has been instrumental in bringing a new set of consumers into the Royal Enfield community, with sales exceeding 200,000 units worldwide in just 12 months on-sale, its growing acclaim and adoption by trend makers such as King Nerd is a strong testament that it is doing just that.

Manufactured in-house by Royal Enfield’s Custom World division, these King Nerd HNTR 350 machines have been redesigned with numerous special touches from the mind of King Nerd, including practical hand-made pieces such as the side panel mounted storage pouches for every day essentials, adding practicality without interrupting the stripped back style of the machines. A custom King Nerd headlight graphic lights the way through the city, mounted in a bespoke headlamp surround. The sports tail cover gives these machines a unique style, combined with a custom finished Royal Enfield GMA seat trimmed in Alcantara with contrast design and stitching, hand spun aluminium wheel covers complete the look for an aggressive first read profile.

Each of the five HNTR 350’s feature unique custom paintwork with an ornate scroll design and King Nerd 350 logo, individual hand engraved plaque and custom keys with the King Nerd logo.

The final three machines in the King Nerd X HNTR 350 line-up will be revealed for the first time at Royal Enfield’s global rider gathering MOTOVERSE in Goa from the 24-26th November, after which they will tour the world as art installations – Keep a look out for them at a Royal Enfield event near you.

The 2023 Royal Enfield Bullet – New Heart. Same Beat.

A gleaming symbol of limitless resilience and an enduring name in motorcycling and automotive history, the Royal Enfield Bullet 350 continues its legendary legacy in a new avatar as Royal Enfield, the global leader in the mid-size (250cc-750cc) motorcycle segment, today announced the launch of the 2023 Bullet 350.

Introduced on Royal Enfield’s proven, super-refined and smooth J-series engine platform, this iconic motorcycle, with over nine decades of heritage, proudly continues to be a fusion of resilient aesthetics and craftsmanship, the vibrant culture it has catalysed over the last nine decades, and the community and characters it represents.

Reminiscing about his memories with the Bullet at this significant juncture of its journey, Siddhartha Lal, Managing Director – Eicher Motors Ltd, said, “The summer ‘94 was when I rode solo across Europe, fearless and adventurous, on a Bullet 500. Many before me, and many after me have perhaps traversed the same journey, literally and figuratively, but it was my most memorable experience. Undoubtedly, while the Bullet has been a definitive towering symbol of what we call pure motorcycling for generations of riders, it has also been a crucial part of Royal Enfield’s history. From being a resilient, undiluted character of the communities that have adopted this iconic machine, the Bullet has become a beloved badge of honour and identity for many riders and automotive enthusiasts. Today, as the Bullet rides ahead in a new avatar, we are truly honoured to be able to play a key role in taking its legacy forward.”

If ever there was a motorcycle that has stood the test of time, it is the legendary Royal Enfield Bullet. When unveiled in 1932, its advanced features were at the forefront of motorcycle design. Radically updated in 1948, its groundbreaking swinging arm rear suspension took the motorcycling world by storm and all other motorcycle manufacturers quickly followed suit.

Its prowess over the toughest terrain, success in service with the Indian armed forces and subsequent move to production in Madras in 1955, kickstarted its stellar rise to become, for decades, the king of India’s roads. Its 2010 reinvention, with Royal Enfield’s seminal UCE engine, ensured it continued to be aspirational, as both a motorcycling and a cultural icon.

There is little that cannot be done on a Bullet! Over its remarkable lifespan Bullets have undertaken almost every task imaginable including championing in trials and International Six Days Trials competitions, setting lap records on the Isle of Man, conquering the highest mountain passes, being a trusted companion on every kind of trip, from weekend getaways to round-the-world adventures, employed as a dependable commuter and hardy workhorse, being used as a versatile platform for customisation, going into battle and being a loyal partner to more than a million passionate riders around the globe.

Not only is the Bullet the longest-running motorcycle model in production anywhere in the world, but it has also become a part of India’s social fabric, an heirloom handed down from one generation to the next and has spawned more than 1000 riders’ clubs. For these loyal enthusiasts, Bullet Meri Jaan (‘Bullet Is My Life’) is not just a grainy video and catchy song, but embodies a powerful symbolism that represents authenticity, stoicism, dependability and individuality.

And now this most practical, all-purpose motorcycle takes its unique heritage, majestic stance, rock-solid handling, torquey engine with a thumping heartbeat and simple, uncluttered looks, into an exciting new epoch.

Speaking about the launch of the new 2023 Bullet, B Govindarajan, CEO, Royal Enfield said “To me, the Bullet has been an undeniable symbol of resilient engineering and aesthetics. It has endured war and peace with unflinching reliability and has been an ally for over 90 years to the bravest of the brave. Pinstriped and handcrafted by three generations of artisans, the Bullet has retained its regal appeal without surrendering to fads and whims. The uncluttered simplicity of its form is a sharp contrast to its sturdy dependability, its mettle and character. We have purposefully endeavoured to retain the essence of the legacy of the Royal Enfield Bullet as it readies to transition to a new form and avatar and steadfastly rides on to a century and beyond”

The 2023 Bullet 350 is powered by the modern, globally acclaimed 349cc air-oil cooled single cylinder engine that also powers the Meteor, Classic and Hunter. Fuel-injected, it produces 20.2 bhp at 6100 rpm and 27 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm resulting in strong, low-end grunt, super smooth linear power delivery and a ride that’s both refined and invigorating. With a primary balancer shaft to cut down vibrations, it feels responsive and refined while its gear shifting is crisp and smooth thanks to an optimised 5-speed gearbox, ensuring a superlative ride experience. At the front are 41mm forks, a 100/90 -19 tyre and a 300mm disc brake. The rear sports a wider 120/80 -18 tyre and 270mm disc brake. Comfort is ensured by a new take on the single bench seat with careful attention paid to both ergonomics and quality materials.

The chassis is designed for improved handling and manoeuvrability. Firmer than on previous Bullets, it encourages confidence at higher cornering speeds and feels planted and stable on straight roads. This is enhanced by large diameter 41mm front forks and wider section tyres, a 100/90 -19 at the front and 120/80 -18 at the rear as compared to past Bullet versions. A 300mm disc brake is fitted at the front and 270mm disc at the rear. Comfort is ensured by a new take on the single bench seat which, along with redesigned mudguards, contributes to the subtly evolved styling, a marked improvement in the proportion, stance and aesthetic balance of the motorcycle.

The 2023 Bullet 350 for Europe is released in two distinct editions, all handcrafted with a premium finish that will delight. The Bullet Standard available in Black or Maroon colourways at £4629, is fitted with dual channel ABS and rear disc, finished with elegant hand-pinstriped body-coloured tanks and components as well as chrome and gold badges. The Bullet Black Gold is a premium variant finished with a striking combination of matt and gloss black tank, copper and gold 3D badge, copper pinstriping and on-trend, blacked-out engine and components, and comes with dual channel ABS and rear disc brakes, available at £4,709

Both European editions are built with a distinctive 13-litre, teardrop tank and the traditional Royal Enfield casquette that houses a new headlamp along with the signature ‘tiger eyes’ – pilot lights – an enduring feature on Royal Enfield motorcycles since 1954. More contemporary touches include the new digi-analog instrument cluster that houses an LCD information panel and a USB charging point mounted below the handlebar. The rider’s controls have received special focus to ensure that the design, fit and finish are top class with beautifully styled rotary switch cubes that combine ease of use with eye-catching retro appeal.

The 2023 Bullet 350 will be supported by an ecosystem of 28 Genuine Motorcycle Accessories, including nine designed and developed specifically for the Bullet. These include comfortable touring and low-rise seats and touring handlebars. There is also a selection of quality riding gear, including helmets and apparel with detailing that echo the Bullet’s legendary pinstriping.

There is no other motorcycle like the Bullet. True to its heritage yet updated and made relevant for each new generation of rider, the Bullet is the custodian of Royal Enfield’s ‘pure motorcycling’ DNA. Royal Enfield believes that now is the time for the world to see the Bullet with new eyes; to once more fall in love with this authentic, gleaming symbol of understated style and timeless resilience.

The wait is over. The new 2023 Bullet 350 is here to own its rightful place as the Jewel in Royal Enfield’s magnificent crown

Ace Alpine Barista Sidecar

The Ace Cafe in Switzerland provides a side order of coffee on wheels with this custom-built Royal Enfield/Watsonian outfit.

Danny Kunz, owner of the Ace Café in Luzern, Switzerland, wanted to blend his twin passions of good coffee and motorcycles.

The idea for ‘Ace Sidecar Caffeine’ was spawned on a quiet Monday morning and the radical concept started with a custom-built Interceptor 650 scrambler, crafted by Auer Power Moto, a Royal Enfield dealer and bike builder based in the nearby province of Obwalden.

Danny then approached British manufacturer Watsonian with a request to provide a sidecar suitable for use as a mobile coffee bar. They supplied a Grand Prix sidecar, which complements the bike’s classic style and is attached via a sturdy sub-frame that bolts to existing mounting points on either side of the motorcycle, for a secure fit and stable handling.

The Grand Prix has a tubular steel perimeter frame that is welded for strength and durability, providing a robust and convenient mounting point for the rack that carries the coffee grinder and ECM Espresso machine.

Ready to serve bean-to-cup coffee wherever it’s parked, the outfit can also dispense Guinness 0.0 non-alcoholic beer.

Watsonian MD Ben Matthews is no stranger to unusual sidecar projects:

“As a company we’ve 111 years experience making sidecars, so we’re the go-to guys when it comes to building outfits for TV, film and specialist use. In 2020 we designed a sidecar for a Cornish chef to serve Asian street food from and prior to that we made an outfit for a London beekeeper! We’ll also be revealing something with an Italian flavour later this year!”

Roaring with Majesty: A Royal Enfield Classic 350

Many thanks to Lucy at Shellwood Blake and Royal Enfield UK these past two weeks I have manage to quality time with the Royal Enfield Classic 350. This will be my first experience with a Royal Enfield and on the whole it was enjoyable.

The Royal Enfield brand has a rich heritage dating back to the year 1901 when it was first established here in England. Since then, it has become one of the oldest motorcycle manufacturers in the world.

The company’s commitment to craftsmanship and quality has earned it a loyal fan base globally. In 1955, the iconic Indian company, Madras Motors, acquired the Royal Enfield brand, making it an integral part of the Indian motorcycle industry. The Royal Enfield Classic 350 has been in production since 2008.

One of the defining features of the Classic 350 is its exquisite design, which seamlessly blends classic aesthetics with modern-day engineering. Inspired by the post-war era motorcycles, the Classic 350 exudes a vintage charm that is hard to resist.

From its timeless fuel tank design to its vintage-style headlamp and exhaust, every element of this motorcycle reflects meticulous attention to detail. Despite its retro design, the Classic 350 incorporates modern technologies such as an dual channel ABS, LED tail lights, and an electric start, ensuring a perfect balance between nostalgia and contemporary functionality.

It has a low-slung, comfortable seat that is perfect for long journeys for the rider but also for the pillion. The handlebars are ergonomically designed to provide a comfortable grip and the footpegs are adjustable to suit your riding style.

Furthermore, the distinct thump of the Royal Enfield exhaust has become synonymous with the Classic 350, ensuring that heads turn wherever it goes. With its stylish instrument cluster, including a speedometer and odometer, the Classic 350 offers modern conveniences while maintaining its classic allure.

Beyond its classic looks, the Classic 350 packs a punch when it comes to performance. The all new Royal Enfield Classic 350 offers ample torque with 20.2 BHP @ 6100 RPM and 27 Nm @ 4000 rpm. Assembled with a twin downtube spine frame for a comfortable ride, 350 cc single cylinder, fuel injected air cooled engine, 13 litres of fuel capacity, a ground clearance of 170 mm and single and dual channel ABS.

In Conclusion
The Classic 350 is a great choice for riders who want a classic-style motorcycle with modern safety features. It has a comfortable seat, a good engine, and a number of safety features that make it a great choice. My only personal gripe is the gap between the foot peg and gear shift is small and as such I couldn’t wear my favorite boots as I struggled to change gear.

What I also like about it is (like the BSA Gold Star I rode last week) the Classic 350 isn’t dripping in chrome (anyone who know me knows not a fan of loads of chrome). I think the 350 is a perfect city commuter bike especially for someone who has just passed their test or has short legs or doesn’t like a big heavy bike.
