Royal Enfield Reveals Pricing For The New Super Meteor 650

Injecting a new level of character, style and accessibility into the cruiser category, Royal Enfield showcased the gorgeous new Super Meteor 650 at EICMA in November 2022, and then displayed the motorcycle in all its colourways at the brand’s annual motorcycling festival – Rider Mania.

Today, Royal Enfield launched the new Super Meteor 650 across India and Europe, as the brand announced retail availability and price of the motorcycle. Built as two distinct variants – Super Meteor 650 and the Super Meteor 650 Tourer – and in seven distinct colourways, the new Super Meteor 650 will be available starting at INR 3,48,900 (Full EU Pricing detailed below). Display and bookings in India begin today, and deliveries will commence February onwards. Bookings across Europe begin today as well, with retail delivery starting by March 2023.

The Super Meteor 650 continues Royal Enfield’s heritage of building superlative cruisers. It is centred around the acclaimed 648cc twin platform that, since 2018, has enjoyed worldwide recognition within the multi-award-winning motorcycles, Interceptor INT 650 and Continental GT 650. It has been rigorously tested on proving tracks, Belgian PAVE, and the highways, byways, towns and city centres of India, the UK and Spain, clocking up over one million kilometres in the process to ensure the most reliable and enjoyable ride.

Commenting on the new Super Meteor 650 Siddhartha Lal, Managing Director of Eicher Motors Ltd. said, “The Super Meteor 650 is an evolution of all our focus and efforts in the middleweight segment over the years, and is a thoroughbred, retro cruiser in every sense. Its design language, geometry, form-factor and the gorgeous 650cc twin engine make it the most stunning, accessible and capable cruiser in the category. We’ve enhanced the refinement levels of this motorcycle, and you can feel it in its smooth throttle response across the range. The motorcycle has confidence inspiring stability, takes corners well and feels planted at highway speeds. It is a perfect mid-segment motorcycle that may actually interest even people who are not interested in cruisers. We believe the Super Meteor will expand the market for cruisers around the world and take the Royal Enfield twin platform a notch higher”

Speaking at the launch of the Super Meteor 650, Royal Enfield CEO, B Govindarajan, said, “We have focused not just on building great motorcycles, but reimagining propositions that transcend traditional motorcycling segments. The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 that replaced the Thunderbird in our portfolio did just that, as it made cruising easy for riders across the globe, and became one of our highest selling motorcycles in Europe and other parts of the world. The Super Meteor 650 breathes new life into the cruising segment, and creates its own identity as an authentic, accessible, mid-segment cruiser”

A quintessential cruiser, the Super Meteor 650 combines uncluttered controls and instrumentation with relaxed rider ergonomics; rock-steady stability on highways with pure riding pleasure on even on the most winding roads where it is keenly responsive to steering inputs. Its flexible, smooth engine has torque aplenty and its cool retro styling is infused with clearly recognisable Royal Enfield DNA. It has a physically imposing presence, yet remains an easy ride, whether you are traversing vast landscapes or heading towards the vanishing point on the horizon.

Over the years, Royal Enfield has made exceptional contributions to the cruiser category with stylish motorcycles that have founded new, niche markets. Beginning in the mid-1950s, it was decades ahead of the cruiser genre being defined when it produced US export variants of the original Redditch Super Meteor twin, with what is today considered to be a strong cruiser profile. It then introduced cruising to India with the Citybike, Lightning 535, at the time the biggest and baddest motorcycle on India’s roads, and a succession of 350 and 500cc Thunderbirds, which garnered a large and loyal following. Global success followed in 2020 with the launch of the Meteor 350 on the brand new J-series platform. The Meteor 350 upped the tempo with new standards of finesse, quality and, most importantly, rideability.

Created at the UK Technology Centre in conjunction with Harris Performance, the frame and swingarm are entirely new and meet the design brief of a motorcycle with a low centre of gravity for high-speed stability and easy manoeuvrability that is confidence inspiring for all levels of rider. Fabricated in steel with optimised forgings, investment castings, pressings and extrusions, the chassis incorporates a new cylinder head mount for additional stiffness. Royal Enfield’s first USD forks, with a 120mm stroke, and premium rear shocks with 5-step preload and 101mm travel, perfectly complement the new frame, ensuring the Super Meteor is stable and rewarding to ride on highways, and precise and engaging through the curves without being heavy to steer. The USD forks allow the motorcycle to maintain a controlled response throughout the range of suspension travel, and the big piston damping technology allows for a plush and planted ride

Unintimidating and practical, the Super Meteor 650 has the silhouette of a thoroughbred cruiser, with a low stance and seat with wide hips and a narrow waist, which allow a comfortable standover. Riding position is one of the key differentiators of any cruiser and the Super Meteor nails this with fully feet-forward foot controls and raised, wide handlebars. These fundamental cruiser design elements meld to make the rider feel they are part of their motorcycle. A large tank gives extended range and wide tubeless tyres on 16” rear and 19” front alloy rims provide dependability and peace of mind at highway speeds. Its dynamic design and a striking silhouette add to the streamlined look of the motorcycle, giving it the appearance of moving forward and cruising even when standing still.

The rider’s view and controls have received special focus to ensure that the design, fit and finish are class-leading. Its instrument cluster combines the timeless elegance of an analogue speedometer with the functionality of an LCD display for essentials such as revs, gear indicator, fuel gauge, clock and trip-meter. Adjustable clutch and brake levers offer a smooth operation along with a touch of retro finesse, while ergonomically designed barrel profile grips integrate the Royal Enfield logo. All-new plated aluminium switch cubes hold unique rotary switches, placing premium, chic design elements into the rider’s hands. Then there is Royal Enfield’s celebrated TBT (Turn-By-Turn) navigation pod, known as the Royal Enfield Tripper. A first on any Indian-made motorcycle when introduced on the Meteor 350, this highly-focused tool, developed in collaboration with Google, links to the rider’s smartphone via Bluetooth. A discreet USB socket is located beneath the left side panel. Further attention-grabbing features on this cruiser are its LED headlamp, a first for Royal Enfield, which is carefully designed to deliver old-school charm but provide all the benefits of LED technology.

Finally, the Super Meteor’s paint finish is superlative while its distinctive tank badges, inspired by historic Royal Enfield designs, are faceted in chrome and accented with two colours of tinted infill that result in a gorgeous, jewel-like finish.

The Super Meteor 650 is available in five striking colourways: Astral Black, Astral Blue, Astral Green, Interstellar Grey and Interstellar Green. The Super Meteor 650 Tourer, which comes kitted with a touring windscreen, deluxe touring seat, pillion backrest, is available in two distinctive two-tone finishes: Celestial Red and Celestial Blue.

Like all Royal Enfield motorcycles, the Super Meteor 650 is supported by an extensive range of genuine motorcycle accessories that complement its capabilities and enhance its touring proposition in different ways. The Solo tourer themed Super Meteor has a range of bespoke accessories that make solo touring both easy and stylish. Available on the Astral and Interstellar trims, the Solo Tourer theme includes neat bar-end mirrors, bar-end finisher, front and rear LED indicators, the solo finisher kit, compact engine guard, deluxe rider foot pegs and silver finish sump guard. Available on the Celestial variant, the Grand Tourer theme additionally comes with an OE-fitted deluxe touring seat, pillion backrest and touring flyscreen. In addition, one can add more accessories from a range of

GMAs, making the motorcycle a full-fledged tourer. These include, touring handlebars, touring mirrors, deluxe rider footpegs, LED fog lights, airfly evo engine guard, black sump guard and front & rear LED indicators.

All GMAs can be ordered when booking your motorcycle through the local dealership. A stylish, high-quality range of gear, including Super Meteor t-shirts, helmets, bags and accessories, is also available.

The Super Meteor 650 has been created to allow its riders to break free from daily routines, to capture the romance of the open road, experience big skies and vast open landscapes, and undertake journeys that aren’t limited by hours or kilometres.

Royal Enfield is confident that it will make believers out of non-believers, encouraging those who love motorcycling but with no experience or desire to ride a cruiser, to do just that — go cruising.

Royal Enfield Launches The Scram 411 ADV Crossover

Royal Enfield, the global leader in the mid-size motorcycling segment, today unveiled the Scram 411 – the brand’s first ADV crossover.

The new Scram 411 is an engaging, accessible and capable street scrambler, with the heart of an adventure motorcycle. Built on Royal Enfield’s proven LS-410 engine platform and the Harris Performance chassis, the Scram 411 combines spirited agility on urban streets, with competent rough- roading capabilities. Focused and purposeful changes in the riding geometry and ergonomics make it ideal for in-city riding, as well as unpredictable, challenging trails off the urban grid.

The Scram 411 is a continuation of Royal Enfield’s constant quest to enable the pursuit of exploration; and to build motorcycles that can be the perfect ally for every adventure. One such motorcycle is the Himalayan – Royal Enfield’s first purpose-built, adventure tourer. Inspired by its terrain and decades of riding experience in the Himalayas, the Himalayan is the spartan, yet immensely capable motorcycle that is perfect for most riders, and has built a thriving subculture of adventure touring across the world. Launched in 2016, the Himalayan has received global recognition for its pure and unique design and well-rounded capability, making it among Royal Enfield’s best selling motorcycles across the world. These highly regarded and terrain-tested characteristics of the Himalayan were the inspiration for a more urban, scrambler style evolution – the Scram 411.

The Scram 411 is a new subspecies that has the authentic vibes of a scrambler and comes with built-in strong adventure DNA. It is a motorcycle that feels playfully agile on urban roads, yet is a highly capable multi-tasker that is always ready for whatever comes its way.

Siddhartha Lal, Managing Director, Eicher Motors Ltd., simply loves the fluidity and the multipurpose ability of the Scram 411. Speaking about this in the context of modern existence, he said, “Whether it’s London, New Delhi or Tokyo, the contours of modern urban existence are ever-changing. With our world increasingly becoming more fast- paced, life in the urban context has become about the weekday hustle and the weekend getaway, and everything in between. We wanted to build a motorcycle that could effortlessly navigate this entire gamut, and be the perfect ally for the young, modern day rider. The Scram 411 is truly a motorcycle made for now, and is always ready to tackle whatever surprise is in store”

Speaking about the inspiration behind the Scram 411, and about the new motorcycle, Executive Director, Royal Enfield, B Govindarajan, said, The globally lauded versatility and competence of the Himalayan inspired us to reimagine the motorcycle in a more young, modern-day, urban context. The Scram 411 is the perfect crossover for young city-dwellers, who prefer a motorcycle that is fun and engaging to ride around the city, yet has a rugged appeal. By shifting the riding geometry to make the motorcycle more at home on busy city streets, and retaining its strong ability to take on rough roads and take on the weekend dirt trail, we’ve brought a unique subcategory for consumers. Like all our motorcycles, the Scram 411 is built for the global rider, and manufactured with world class engineering. We also have an array of genuine motorcycle accessories and a vibrant apparel range inspired by the Scram lifestyle. This is a very exciting and spirited new motorcycle, and we are confident that young riders from across the world will love the new Scram 411”

Powered at the heart by the LS-410 engine platform and the Harris Performance Chassis, the Scram 411’s riding ergonomics make it an effortless and engaging ride in everyday urban riding situations.

Mark Wells, Chief of Design at Royal Enfield, enjoys riding the Scram 411, and how easily it can navigate a wide spectrum of terrains and challenges. Speaking about creating a new subspecies of motorcycles, he said, “Most scrambler motorcycles focus only on aesthetics and looks. When we began work on the Scram 411, we were determined to create a motorcycle that would be distinct in design and purpose, and bring the best of rough road capability to urban riding. With its simple look and design, playful colourways, accessible riding proposition, the Scram 411 is an ultimate ADV crossover for the urban environment”

The Scram 411 is powered by the globally appreciated 411cc, fuel-injected, 4-stroke, SOHC, air-cooled single-cylinder engine. The engine has a maximum power of 24.3bhp at 6500rpm and max torque of 32Nm at 4000-4500 rpm which ensures smooth power delivery and strong bottom end torque that elevates the overall performance. The motorcycle is easy to manage over long urban commutes with minimum gear shifts, and confidence-inspiring engine performance allows it to tackle bad road, and off-road sections easily.

The telescopic front suspension with 41mm forks and 190mm travel, along with 180mm travel on the rear with monoshock linkages ensure stable and confident riding over varying and rough road conditions. The front and the rear discs combined with dual-channel ABS, offers confident braking.

The change in the riding geometry is brought about by the 19-inch, dual purpose front tyres. This combined with the 17-inch rear tyres are key elements that bring nimble handling to the motorcycle. The dual-purpose tyres ensure a confident grip over tarmac and on loose gravel, while bringing the perfect combination of on-road grip and rough- road tractability.

The seat on the new Scram 411 has been reimagined for greater comfort over long saddle time. The new single seat that reflects the urban styling of the motorcycle, offers great comfort for both rider and pillion in long city commute as well as taking the road less travelled. The accessible seat height makes it easy to maneuver the motorcycle in stop and go traffic The ride ergonomics on the Scram 411 feels very planted and confident. The handlebar position, and seat height make the ride experience dynamic, and engaging. It retains a commanding and comfortable riding position while making it easy to ride when seated or standing up.

The new motorcycle has a digital-analog instrument cluster that provides easy access to essential information on the digital screen. The off-set old-school, analog speedometer adds to the Scram’s style and makes for easy viewing in peripheral vision. The instrument cluster also has an auto meter, trip meter, time, fuel gauge with a low warning, and service reminder. The Royal Enfield Tripper Navigation pod is available as standard on all variants of the Scram 411.

The new vibrant colourways are designed to stand-out and reflect a distinct urban vibe, with dark shades combined with highlight colours to pop and give a nod to street art culture. The entry level Scram 411 variants come in Graphite Yellow, Graphite Red and Graphite Blue – all with ‘Gun Grey’ tanks complimented with distinct colourful tank badges and matching tyre rim tapes. The top end variant, in two colourways – White Flame and Silver Spirit – boast dual tank colourways, with unique and original graphics.

The Scram 411 comes adventure ready with an array of motorcycle accessories that complement the lifestyle and purpose, and provide enhanced comfort, protection and style. Ideal for riding in the urban environment and over weekend getaways, Royal Enfield’s Genuine Motorcycle Accessories come with a comprehensive 3-year warranty and are fully homologated alongside the motorcycle.

Royal Enfield, the global leader in the middleweight motorcycle segment (250cc – 750cc), opened its showcase offering at EICMA 2021 today with the unveil of the Royal Enfield SG650 Concept motorcycle – marking another chapter in the brand’s 120 year old journey of creative expression and conceptual development.

The SG650 Concept is the result of a challenge set to Royal Enfield’s Industrial Design Team by Mark Wells, Chief of Design. At its core, the message underpinning the concept build was about celebrating ‘transition’. The aim, through this challenge, was for the Royal Enfield team to embark on a new creative journey with the SG650 Concept; starting from within Royal Enfield’s classic design sensibilities and then pushing into a whole new era of what the Royal Enfield’s of the future could look like.

Says Mark Wells, “we are a company in transition – so long a representation of the analog age and now developing new products that keep that same pure soul yet are fully integrated into the digital present. To celebrate this, we wanted to develop a project that really gave our design team an opportunity to stretch themselves creatively. The goal : to build a unique concept motorcycle that pays homage to Royal Enfield’s rich history of custom motorcycles, but one that wasn’t encumbered by the past. A neo-retro interpretation that pushes the boundaries of what a Royal Enfield motorcycle could look like, but at its core still celebrating that iconic Royal Enfield DNA.

The advances of today are often inspired by the imaginations of the past – the mobile phone, the smart watch or even space travel. That desire to look forward with optimism and imagine the possibilities is fundamental to the progression of our culture. And so we started this concept with a context rather than a question – imagining a world
in the not so distant future and our brand’s place in it. A cyber, neon saturated, urban jungle took shape – where old meets new in a tangle of concrete, metal, bright lights and shadowy streets, where the analog and the digital intertwine and blend – setting that felt both familiar and alien to us, and in doing so foster an environment that would force us to think differently about how we approached the aesthetics of a Royal Enfield motorcycle.

We believe that the resultant concept motorcycle, unveiled for the first time at EICMA 2021, inhabits this world fantastically well and offers up something very new, very original and entirely unique to fans of the brand and motorcycle enthusiasts more widely. The design team have done an amazing job in retaining the analog soul – those classic Royal Enfield lines and design nuances – subtle nods to the past – while creatively pushing the boundary of what the Royal Enfields of tomorrow could conceptually represent in form and function.”

Says Adrian Sellers, Group Manager, Industrial Design and lead for the SG650 Concept project, “We’re really excited to unveil this concept and write another chapter in the rapidly evolving story of Royal Enfield design. It is always exciting to design for a “What if…” scenario, and the brief to create a motorcycle that would both be recognizably Royal Enfield but at the same time push what a Royal Enfield could be was a real challenge. This was a wonderfully collaborative and rewarding project to develop, as it required the creative input of many different aspects of the design team – from Industrial Design to Color Trim and Graphics and CGI – each contributed a piece of the puzzle to bring this other world to life.

The key concept of transition is conveyed throughout the motorcycle; from the choice of aesthetic finishes, to the materials that we used. From the heritage-inspired polished aluminium front end, flowing into the futuristic, digital graphic on the tank – this was about bringing the old and the new together and resulting in something timeless.

There are some really special elements to this motorcycle that are a first for a Royal Enfield concept – many of the component parts have been individually, one-off fabricated or designed exclusively for this motorcycle. The tank has been CNC billet machined from a solid block of aluminium, as have the wheel rims with integrated ABS, bespoke designed brake calipers, and dual front brake disks. The upside down forks, integrated aluminium top yoke / nacelle unit and low rise extra-wider bars with all aluminium switch cubes all add elements of originality and design progression to the concept – while the twin rear shocks, mounted to the classic chassis loop, hand stitched black leather floating solo seat are a clear nod to our past. Graphically, the black out 650 Twin engine and exhaust system compliment our imagined near future, while the polished aluminum forms transitioning with a “digital transformation” graphic across the motorcycle speak to the progression of the brand. We’re delighted with the end result and truly believe this brings something completely new, in our 120th anniversary year, to the ever developing story of Royal Enfield.”

90 Degrees South – Quest For The Pole

90° South – Quest For The Pole – An Extraordinary Endeavour in Celebration of 120 Years of Pure Motorcycling.

Royal Enfield to lead a first of its kind motorcycle expedition to the South Pole.

Royal Enfield is the world’s oldest motorcycle brand in continuous production since 1901. For 120 years, Royal Enfield has remained the preserver of the legacy of building simple, pared-down, authentic classic motorcycles that are engaging and fun to ride. Riding through time and tough terrain, Royal Enfield has emerged victorious in rides that have tested the endurance of man and machine, while remaining relevant and desirable through the ages.

From its humble beginnings at the Redditch factory, Royal Enfield has spent more than a century creating memorable experiences and legendary motorcycling tales. In its journey to encourage and kickstart the lifelong pursuit of exploration, Royal Enfield has conducted rides across the globe, ranging from riding on the highest motorable pass in the world, to reaching the Base Camp of Mount Everest in Tibet; from riding over the most inaccessible mountain pass at Daulat Beg Oldi, Karakoram, to riding across the desert at Kutch under picturesque night skies.

Continuing on this journey and to commemorate 120 years of building the pure motorcycling culture, Royal Enfield will mark 2021 with an ambitious attempt to push the boundaries of motorcycling possibilities. The company will undertake a motorcycling expedition on the Royal Enfield Himalayan, to attempt to reach the geographic South Pole, from the Ross Ice Shelf via the Leverett Glacier. 90° SOUTH – Quest for the Pole is conceptualized as a tribute to the brand’s commitment to pure motorcycling, and to the courage and resilience of innumerable riders and explorers who have made history with their motorcycling journeys.

Speaking about the milestone year for Royal Enfield and the expedition attempt, Siddhartha Lal, Managing Director of Eicher Motors Ltd, said, “120 years is a long legacy for the brand, and we are very happy to have made it count. Over these years, we have created and nurtured a thriving culture of riding and exploration around the world. This pursuit of exploration has been a quintessential part of our DNA, and 90° South is another chapter in our series of extraordinary, epic motorcycling rides.  In the past, rides like Himalayan Odyssey have paved the way for motorcycling adventure in the Himalayas and an epic expedition like this to the South Pole will further inspire people to become adventurers again. A test of endurance and perseverance for man and machine, this expedition is the first of its kind attempt to traverse the 770km long route to the South Pole on a motorcycle.”

Conceptualized as a tribute to 120 years of pure motorcycling, and as an ode to all Enfielders who’ve dared to explore beyond the ordinary, 90° South will be an ambitious attempt to go where no motorcycle has gone before. To begin from Cape Town, South Africa, on 26 November 2021, the expedition will witness two Royal Enfield riders – Santhosh Vijay Kumar, Lead – Rides & Community, Royal Enfield, and Dean Coxson, Senior Engineer- Product Development, Royal Enfield- attempting to reach the geographic South Pole, from the Ross Ice Shelf, via the Leverett Glacier, to the Amundsen-Scott Pole station.

Speaking about the brand’s purpose of encouraging explorations, and wishing the expedition great success, B Govindarajan, Executive Director, Royal Enfield remarked, “It has been an unbroken legacy of 120 years, of fuelling and pushing the boundaries of human exploration, and being an ally to many explorers. It is their journeys and adventures that have inspired us to attempt this first of its kind motorcycle expedition. This bold and ambitious attempt to ride to the very end of the earth summarizes the resilience of the human spirit, and we hope to complete it successfully as an ode to all Royal Enfield riders and their own inspiring expeditions.”

To be conducted in close partnership with Arctic Trucks, 90° South will be attempted on two purpose-built Royal Enfield Himalayans. Arctic Trucks, a member of the International Association of Antarctica Tour Operators, are renowned for their deep expertise in the field and have covered over 3,50,000 kms on the Antarctic Plateau. They have supported and serviced several scientific expeditions and activities, as well as commercial and NGO expeditions in the past.

Launched in 2016, the Royal Enfield Himalayan is a simple, extremely capable, and go-anywhere motorcycle. Inspired from the experience of decades of riding in the Himalayas, and traversing thousands of kilometres of challenging terrain, the Royal Enfield Himalayan was built to be a versatile motorcycle that is capable on the road, as well as off the beaten track. The Himalayan has been a trusted ally for many adventure seekers across the world.

For this expedition, two Himalayans have been modified in-house, with functional upgrades to be able to navigate snow and ice to ably function under extreme conditions in Antarctica. The Himalayan was tested for this arduous and treacherous journey at the Langjokull glacier in Iceland, with an intention to mirror the conditions in Antarctica. Phase 1 of testing was held in September 2020 while phase 2 of testing concluded in July 2021

Given that the Himlayan in itself is a complete and proficient machine, minimal changes have been made to the motorcycle to make it ready for the terrain and weather conditions in Antarctica. For greater torque at the rear wheel, the main drive sprocket has been changed from a 15-teeth, to a 13-teeth unit. There is a tubeless wheel setup with studded tyres that allows the tyres to run at very low pressures, and to increase floatation on soft snow, while also providing adequate traction on hard ice. The team has introduced a stronger alternator using rare earth magnets, so as to enable the motorcycle to produce more current and enable the team to run heated gear off the battery.

The motorcycles will be ridden on a compacted snow track from the Ross Ice Shelf to the South Pole, to reduce motorcycle drag and limit emissions to an absolute minimum. Royal Enfield is consciously ensuring no footprint is left behind by the expedition team except wheel tracks that will quickly be lost to snow drift. In line with our #LeaveEveryPlaceBetter initiative, the team will ensure all waste including human waste is brought back for appropriate disposal.

Bad Winners Present the 650 Twins Motokit

Internationally renowned custom house Bad Winners have released their new purpose designed ‘Motokit’ for the Royal Enfield 650 TWINS range. Crafted and produced by Bad Winners in their Parisian workshop, this kit has been specifically designed to fit the 650 Continental and 650 Interceptor.

Back in 2019 Bad Winners took up the challenge given to them by Royal Enfield to design and craft a unique custom bike based on the 650 Interceptor. While the order was for one unique custom build, it seemed the logical next step for Bad Winners to independently develop a replica Motokit version which could then be bought and self-assembled at home by any Royal Enfield Twins owner.

Bad Winners’ motivation behind the development of the MotoKit was to add elements of their own signature custom build style to optimize the style of the 650 Twins and refine the riding experience, while bringing a contemporary touch and a premium finish to both the Twins models that have already become timeless classics.

At the front of the motorcycle, a Renthal Streetbar has been installed and customised to accommodate six push buttons and an adaptive electronics box to connect to the vehicle’s original wiring loom. A discreet and elegant Tiny Speedo Motogadget replaces the original speedometer, as do new Oberon Performance mirrors. In a continued effort to sharpen the look, the front end of the vehicle was fitted with a Koso Thunderbolt headlight to enhance the bespoke headlight shell. The turn signals have been replaced and are cleverly placed in the Bad Winners headlight mounts.

It is, however, the rear of the vehicle that presents the most notable modifications. Without changing the overall geometry of the motorcycle, kit owners are directed to cut the original rear buckle in order to install a new one that will shorten the seat by 5cm. The seat, in imitation leather or real leather (optional), is also handmade by Bad Winners, as are the mudguard and plate holder that are included in the kit. The rear light has also been replaced by an LED system that fits into the extension of the seat.

The mechanical aspect of the vehicle has also been customised thanks to the Performance Kit and the Suspension Kit that optimize comfort and riding precision.

The Performance Kit offers a choice of three different exhausts: a pair of S&S slip ons, the S&S 2-in-1 exhaust system or a pair of Spark classic silencers. The air filter and holder have been replaced with an S&S filter. The kit also includes a Dynojet power commander with a pre-configured mapping to optimize the functioning of all the kit’s elements.

Finally, the front and rear suspensions have also been replaced. The front fork is equipped with a YSS upgrade kit, while we offer a choice of three different rear shocks: Bitubo rear shock, YSS Nitro rear shock or YSS Nitro cylinder rear shock.

This Motokit is available in 4 mini-kits: Front kit / Seat kit / Suspension kit / Performance kit. It is sold as a whole kit, but each mini-kit is also available individually. The custom parts that were developed for this project are also sold individually in the Bad Winners store.

Royal Enfield Twins FT to debut at UK Flat Track competition

Royal Enfield Twins FT to debut at UK Flat Track competition with Gary Birtwistle.

Gary Birtwistle is gearing up to race Royal Enfield Twins FT at UK Flat Track’s first seasonal event at Norfolk Arena, 8 May. Last month Royal Enfield announced the brand’s debut on the European racing circuit with news of an exciting sponsorship and collaboration with Gary Birtwistle for the 2021 DTRA Flat Track racing season. Gary will campaign Royal Enfield’s purpose-built flat track racing motorcycles, the Twins FT, in all races in the 2021 DTRA calendar.

The DTRA series is the most prestigious flat track series outside of the USA and Royal Enfield is excited to partner with Gary, the reigning 2019 European and British Hooligan flat track champion as part of its development program for the Twins FT.

Says Adrian Sellers, head of Royal Enfield’s Custom Program; “We’re very excited to be teaming up with Gary for this project and it marks yet another major brand milestone in the EU region – the very first time a Royal Enfield is going to be officially lining up for a competitive race on European soil. We’re still in our development phase with the Twins FT, and we are looking forward to working with Gary to make the bike even better. The race bike has been worked on tirelessly by the teams at the Royal Enfield UKTC, Harris Performance and our partners in the US, and the bike has evolved a lot in just the past few months. Add into the mix an incredibly experienced racer in Gary and you have a recipe for being both as competitive as possible and gaining invaluable experience in our debut season.”

Says Gary, “”It’s a great pleasure to be partnering with Royal Enfield for 2021 and beyond. I’m really excited to be a part of the 650 racing programme, working with Royal Enfield and Harris to help try and get the most out of the package is really motivating. I’ve really enjoyed getting the laps in before the season starts; I think we could have a good chance at the British Championship this year. I’m raring to go for the first event of the year, especially with Royal Enfield’s support.”

Skidmarx go higher on the Himalayan

New from Skidmarx, the Himalayan Tall screen provides extra protection from wind and rain for riders of Royal Enfield’s popular adventure sport bike.

Manufactured in the UK, the screen is 80mm taller than standard and is made from 4mm cast acrylic, which gives it extra rigidity. However, it is actually 10mm narrower than the original, to allow the handlebars to be turned to full lock with the optional factory handguards fitted.

Skidmarx design their road bike screens to fit directly onto existing mounting points, using original fasteners, so it’s simply a matter of removing the factory-fitted screen and replacing it with the new one.

Himalayan Tall screens are available in clear and light or dark tints, selling for £69.95 including VAT.

Replacement standard size screens, also in clear and light or dark tints, cost £69.95.

Featherlight clutch cable for Interceptor

Venhill have developed a Featherlight clutch cable for Royal Enfield’s new 650 Interceptor – offering owners of the best-selling parallel twin a lighter, smoother, longer-lasting experience, for a modest outlay

Designed and made in the British motorcycle control specialists’ factory, the Featherlight cable provides a lighter, smoother action, improved feel, and increased durability compared to the OE version.

Each one features Venhill’s high quality Featherlight cabling: marine-grade stainless steel inner wire that resists stretching and a ‘teflon’ liner, for minimum friction and a lighter action. It also removes the need for lubrication.

The cables are all ‘Bird-caged’ – a special process applied to the end of the inner cable wire, which allows solder to penetrate the weave of the cable, making the bond with the nipple much stronger, while adding extra strength and durability. The process significantly reduces the risk of  cable breakage when put under repeated stress and pressure.

Venhill cables are a straight swap with the originals for ease of fitment – so there’s no need for any modifications.

The Featherlight clutch cable retails at £24.14 (incl. VAT) and is available in Black, Blue, Green, Grey, Orange, Red and Yellow. It fits all models of the 650 Interceptor (2019 on).
