Feet First With Wunderlich On BMW GS

A simple and inexpensive upgrade, Wunderlich Footpeg Rubbers give much-needed extra comfort and grip to the standard footpegs of the BMW R 1200 and 1250 GS Adventure.

Tailored for off-road use, the original metal footpegs of the 1200 and 1250 Adventure can be problematic during everyday road riding; the spiked grips offering little in the way of comfort or vibration damping and – as many riders will attest – often causing painful injuries to the shins when manoeuvring.

Wunderlich Footpeg Rubbers completely envelop the original peg’s ‘unfriendly’ teeth, protecting footwear and keeping shins pain-free.

Each rubber is wider and longer than the original pegs, so gives a larger platform for the foot. A specially profiled surface provides added grip too – significantly more than the original metal surface in wet conditions.

They also help reduce the transfer of engine vibrations to the feet – particularly welcome on longer stretches.

Each Footpeg Rubber is precisely shaped to fit the standard pegs perfectly, and they attach using two screw fastenings, so when the terrain gets rough, they can be removed quickly and easily.

New from Wunderlich, luggage nets are a neat way to use the often redundant space in the lid of BMW aluminum side and top cases, and keep kit organised.

Made from hard-wearing 5mm thick nylon netting and designed to fit neatly inside the lid of BMW OE aluminium boxes, Luggage Nets maximise storage capacity and help keep essentials like rainwear, travel documents, tools and first aid kits clear of other kit and easily accessible.

Quick and easy to fit, the nets attach using suspension struts, which are inserted into existing rivet heads inside the panniers – so there’s no drilling extra holes or removing rivets, and the panniers stay weather-tight.

Each net measures 420 x 270mm, maximising the space inside each pannier lid. They carry kit well clear of other contents, so they don’t interfere with opening or closing of the lids, or taking pannier liners and other items in and out.

Unlike external nets or bags which attach to the top of pannier lids, they keep items fully protected from the weather and out of sight.

Engine Protection Bars For BMW R 1250 RT

Wunderlich Engine Bars keep the BMW R1250 RT’s engine casings, cylinder heads and valve covers protected during static and low speed falls – all too easy on a fully loaded tourer like the RT – without adding excess width or weight.

Made from robust 25mm steel tubing –  a diameter specifically chosen to give maximum strength for minimum weight – Wunderlich’s Engine Protection Bars attach to the RT via six existing points on the frame, to spread impact evenly and absorb kinetic energy without damaging other components.
Precision-shaped on CNC bending machines, they offer complete protection to the valve cover (even in serious spills), and feature a protective base frame that protects the sump and oil filter.

They are, of course, designed to follow the contours of the RT’s Boxer engine closely, so they won’t compromise ground clearance or cornering ability, and allow full access for maintenance and servicing.

The bars can be fitted in conjunction with Wunderlich’s Cylinder Head Guards and also act as a mounting point for Wunderlich Spotlights. They are part of a wide range of accessories produced for the new RT by the German firm.

Wunderlich Put 1250 GS Behind Bars

Discreet, lightweight and very tough, Wunderlich’s new Stainless Engine Bars for the latest generation R 1250 GS and Adventure offer protection without adding excess width or weight.

Low speed and static tumbles are not only embarrassing, they can be very expensive; a damaged engine casing, cylinder head or valve cover can disrupt or even halt a journey, and can be incredibly costly to fix.

Wunderlich’s new Engine Bars are made from 25mm stainless steel tubing, a diameter specifically chosen to give maximum strength for minimum weight. Precision-shaped on CNC bending machines, they are then cleanly welded in moulds for accuracy and a consistent joint.

Attached via mountings to existing points on the frame, for uniform force distribution, the engine bars are designed to follow the contours of the Boxer engine closely, so they won’t compromise ground clearance or cornering ability, and allow full access for maintenance and servicing.

A central mount acts as a pivot point during a fall, and each side has integrated valve cover protection.

Wunderlich Stainless Engine Bars for the latest-generation R1250 GS and GS Adventure models are available in ‘standard’ Stainless finish – which is glass bead blasted and electro-polished for corrosion resistance and a long life, as well as Black, HP Blue and White versions, which are all powder coated. Handy Guard For BMW R 1250 GS

New to the Wunderlich catalogue, Hand Protector Extenders for the latest generation R 1250 GS / Adv and S 1000 XR dual sport bikes.

Although all these models come with protectors as standard, they offer only basic cover against wind chill, rain and debris thrown up from the road or trail.

Easy Parking With Wunderlich

The Easy Park from Wunderlich makes light work of moving, parking and positioning heavy bikes – ideal for small spaces and those with multiple bikes to manoeuvre.

The Easy Park allows you to shift a bike while it’s parked on the centre stand. You can move the machine in any direction and rotate it through 360 degrees, making positioning in tight garages and sheds easier, freeing up floor space and allowing access to other vehicles.

It’s also great for winter storage of bikes, enabling them to be tucked close to a wall or in the corner out of the way, and then easily retrieved come spring time.

Built to last, the Easy Park is made from 9mm thick galvanized steel plate and has four ball-bearing, twin casters that can be locked in position.

The platform is large enough to take the centre stand of most machines comfortably, and has a slip-resistant rubber mat on the top surface.
