Both the X and F have proven to be solid all-rounders, capable of high mileages. Upgrading to Venhill’s cables not only makes the controls more durable, but also delivers smoother operation. And they are available in a range of colours too.

Marine-Grade Stainless
Developed and made in their UK factory, Venhill’s Featherlight Kits use the latest cable technology and materials for improved durability, as well as a smoother, lighter action. Each cable has high quality marine-grade stainless steel inner wire to eliminate stretch.

They’re also ‘Bird-caged’ – allowing solder to penetrate the weave of the cable, making the bond with the nipple much stronger – reducing the risk of breakage.

PTFE ‘teflon’ lining
A PTFE ‘teflon’ liner minimises friction, and removes the need for regular lubrication.

This is then wrapped in a stainless steel braid and covered with a hardened PA6 Nylon jacket, to protect the inner from damage and corrosion.

Clutch Cable Kits for both the Honda CB500 X and F retail at £25.32 each, including VAT.  Throttle Cables (sold as a pair) sell for £39.38.

They are a direct replacement for the original items, for quick and easy fitting, and include adjustment at the lever end for fine-tuning.

Fitments are available for the MY 2022-23 Honda CB500X and CB500F, as well as the 2019-2023 CB500R. Additional length can be specified, for bikes fitted with bar risers.

Akrapovič and Triumph Announce New Long-Term Collaboration

Akrapovič has revealed plans for new long-term collaboration with Triumph Motorcycles that will see the two companies working in partnership on a number of new exhaust systems for the adventure and roadster sectors and some other special projects.

Akrapovič produces state-of-the-art exhaust systems that feature race-proven materials, increased performance, low weight, innovative design, durability, and a unique sound, and it is all these attributes that will be translated to its range of exhausts for Triumph motorcycles.

The collaboration began in the paddock, in which the two companies already share some success through Akrapovič-supported teams in the Moto2™ championship, where all the machines are using Triumph 765 engines, with the world champions from 2021 and 2022 both equipped with exhausts from the Slovenian company.

Akrapovič is honoured by this new venture working alongside such an iconic brand as Triumph, a company that shares its own ethos for delivering high performance, premium quality, unmistakable sounds, and innovative designs, alongside a racing DNA.

Ducati Hypermotard 950 and Supersport 950 fully covered

Ducati is known for progress and for fast evolution of its motorcycle range — and GBRacing has been working hard to keep up!

The Bologna brand’s changes to improve the clutch on the 937cc V2 engine used in the 2021-23 Supersport 950 and the 2019-2023 Hypermotard 950 range, brought about the need to design a completely new clutch cover to fully include these fun Italian bikes in the GBRacing line-up.

The alternator and water pump covers remain unchanged from the 2016-2020 Supersport 937 — these parts have now been added to the model pages on the website as approved and suitable for the 2021-23 Supersport 950 models.

The introduction of this new clutch cover means that full engine protection is now available both as individual parts and as a set for the 2021-23 Supersport 950 models.

It also means that owners of the 2019-2023 Hypermotard 950 can pair this new clutch cover with the existing alternator cover that also fits the current Multistrada V2 950, Desert X and Monster ranges for complete crankcase protection.

SW-Motech Crash Bars for Suzuki V-Strom 800DE

Tailor-made crash protection for the latest generation of Suzuki’s popular dual sport bike

Robust, weather-resistant and tailor-made to fit perfectly, SW-Motech Crash Bars are an essential addition to adventure bikes, guarding against costly and potentially journey-ending damage.

SW-Motech’s engineers have been quick off the mark to develop crash bars for the new Suzuki V-Strom 800DE. Made from 22mm heavy-duty steel, they form a protective barrier around the fuel tank, fairing and upper engine casings, shielding against damage from low speed and static drops, impacts with other vehicles, and in slides and falls at higher speeds too.

Each set is tailor made in SW-Motech’s European factory, and attach to existing anchor points on the frame, without the need for drilling, cutting or additional brackets. They add minimal width and won’t affect handling or cornering clearance.

The bars are powder coated to help prevent corrosion and blend in with the Suzuki’s styling. Surface finishing is carried out in SW-Motech’s own state-of-the-art facility in the Czech Republic, to guarantee quality and consistency.

Akrapovič Releases Exhausts for Honda XL750 Transalp and CB750 Hornet

Honda CB750 Hornet
Akrapovič has added two more aftermarket exhausts to its Honda collection with the launch of a Slip-On Line (Titanium) for the Honda XL750 Transalp and a Slip-On Line (Carbon) for the Honda CB750 Hornet.

Both exhausts have been created using race-proven materials, with the Slip-On Line (Titanium) for the Honda XL750 Transalp featuring a black-coated outer sleeve on the muffler, a newly designed end cap, and a bracket, all made from lightweight titanium. These are accompanied by a stainless-steel link pipe and muffler inner structure. The Slip-On Line (Carbon) for the Honda CB750 Hornet is built with a hand-crafted carbon-fibre muffler outer sleeve and a stainless-steel inner structure and link pipe, all leading to a titanium end cap with a new design featuring imprints for a sporty look.

During the development process for the Slip-On Line (Titanium), the Akrapovič engineers focused intensely on throttle response and rideability. This has led to performance gains in the mid and high rev ranges, with an increase in power of 0.7 kW (0.9 hp) and a torque enhancement of 1.3 Nm – both at 5,700 rpm – when compared to a standard stock system and tested on the Akrapovič in-house dyno.

Honda XL750 Transalp

The Slip-On Line (Carbon) also focuses on power and torque gains, especially in the mid- and high-range revs. Increases of 0.5 kW (0.7 hp) at 5,250 rpm and 0.6 Nm at 5,300 rpm have been recorded when compared to a Honda CB750 Hornet equipped with a standard stock system and tested on the Akrapovič in-house dyno.

The use of lightweight materials reduces the weight of the Slip-On Line (Titanium) exhaust by 39.8% (1.6 kg) and of the Slip-On Line (Carbon) system by 45.6% (1.8 kg) in comparison to the standard exhausts.

These EC/ECE type-approved Euro 5 systems need no remapping. They are just a plug-and-play installation and, once on the bike – and with the throttle open – they deliver up a deep, sporty, and vivid Akrapovič sound. They are also fully compatible with the original Honda soft panniers.

This pair of new exhausts is available now. They will not only add a touch of personalization to their machines, but also reduce weight and deliver a distinctive Akrapovič sound.

Sidecar for Rebels

New Watsonian sidecar fitting kit for the Honda Rebel CMX1100

Watsonian have developed a fitting kit to attach any of the sidecars in their range to the Honda Rebel CMX1100.

The kit features four powder-coated tubular steel arms with clamps that bolt onto specially selected points on the cruiser’s frame. This is essential to ensure the sidecar can be fitted with the correct axle lead, toe-in and lean-out, for optimum stability and predictable handling.

All parts are manufactured by Watsonian in their Cotswold factory, where they also build their sidecars.

The Rebel 1100 is pictured with the lightweight Watsonian Prescott sidecar. The body shell is manufactured from fibreglass, with a gloss gelcoat finish, and it sits on a steel platform chassis, with independent suspension. A 16″ spoke wheel is fitted as standard, with an option to fit a 17″ cast alloy wheel. The Brooklands style aeroscreen shields the cockpit and the upholstered seat folds down to give access to the luggage space behind.

The Honda Rebel CMX1100 fitting kit costs £595 (including VAT) and prices for the Prescott sidecar start at £5395. Watsonian offer a full factory fitting service if required.

Fit a Shade of Grey with Venhill Cables

New grey colourway for British-made speedo and tacho cable range 

Venhill has added a new grey colour option to their motorcycle speedo and tacho cable range – offering a discreet alternative to black cables on classic British and Japanese bikes.

Recently expanded to cover more makes and models, Venhill speedo and tacho cables are made in their UK factory, to the same rigorous standards as their other control cables and hydraulic hoses.

Each one features a right-hand wound inner shafting, for a durable but flexible drive. The outer casing is made from a special double wound conduit for maximum flexibility and strength. This is then PVC-coated, to protect against dirt, grime, corrosion and damage.
Venhill has also recently upgraded its range of replacement speedo and tacho cables with new brass drive ends. These are manufactured to fit the square drive ends of reconditioned speedometers much more accurately.

Two sizes of speedo drive are produced. One for traditional British bikes (3mm across the flats) and one for Japanese (2.5mm). Cables with different size drives at either end can also be made, allowing Japanese-sized clocks to be fitted to older British bikes.

Tailor Your Transalp with SW-Motech

Luggage, protection and ergonomic add-ons for the new Honda Transalp 750

Honda’s Transalp has a well-earned reputation as a mile-munching middleweight and the new generation builds on those strengths.

Owners of the current model can unlock its touring and commuting potential even further, thanks to a complete range of luggage, ergonomic and protection accessories from SW-Motech.

Luggage
The Pro Tank Ring (£32.95) features Fidlock magnetic tech, for clip-on-and-go fitting of SW-Motech’s Pro Tank Bags. Matching the curved tank of the Transalp, the PRO City Tank Bag (£196.96) offers a handy 14 litres of storage. Even when fully loaded, the slim shape allows full steering lock.

Pannier options include Trax Adv Aluminium Cases. Totally water- and dust-proof, they come in black or silver, and either 45 or 37 litre capacity. Attachment is via Pro Side Carriers, which hold the cases as close to the Transalp as possible to reduce width. Quick-lock fasteners allow the cases to be removed and refitted in seconds. A complete 45 litre kit retails at £1,016.40, and comes with everything needed to mount.

Protection
The robust, powder-coated steel Engine Crash Bar (£212.51) adds extra ‘insurance’ against damage. It protects the Transalp’s fairing and radiator and fixes to existing mounting points. Covering the downpipes and lower engine casings, the 4mm-thick aluminium Engine Guard (£249.48) is available in black or silver.

The Handguard Mounting Kit (£112.96) is compatible with Kobra and BBStorm handguard shells. Both provide protection for the hands and levers against wind, weather and contact with branches and brambles when riding off-road.

Venhill Clutch Cable Upgrade for Tiger 800

Small-cost/big-gain upgrade for Triumph’s popular middleweight adventure bike.

British motorcycle control specialists Venhill have developed a Featherlight Clutch Cable kit for the Triumph Tiger 800 range. This low cost and easy-to-fit upgrade brings instant benefits to the popular middleweight adventurer.

Offering the specification of a large dual-sport bike in an easy-to-handle package, the Tiger 800 delivers serious touring and overlanding potential. Venhill’s new kit helps owners ride even further, improving clutch control and also reducing fatigue and discomfort in the hand and arm.

Developed and made by Venhill in their UK factory, Featherlight Kits use the latest cable technology and materials for improved performance and durability, as well as a smoother, lighter clutch action.

Each cable has high quality marine-grade stainless steel inner wire to eliminate stretch and is ‘Bird-caged’ – allowing solder to penetrate the weave of the cable, making the bond with the nipple much stronger – reducing the risk of breakage.

A PTFE ‘teflon’ liner minimises friction, and removes the need for regular lubrication. This is then wrapped in a stainless steel braid and covered with a hardened PA6 Nylon jacket, to protect the inner from damage and corrosion.

The new cable kits retail at just £25.32 inc VAT and are a direct replacement for the original, for quick and easy fitting. They include adjustment at lever end for fine-tuning the bite point.

Fitments are available for all Triumph Tiger 800, XC, XCa, XCX, XR, XRt and XRx models from MY2010-2020.

Acerbis Gets Its First Guinness World Record® To Celebrate 50th Anniversary

Official: 4,183.8 km from Albino to the North Cape is the greatest distance driven on a single tank of fuel by a motorcycle (prototype)

Acerbis conquers its first GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS®! The AC50 project led to the construction of the largest motorbike fuel tank entirely designed and built in-house, with a capacity of 108 litres, which made it possible to cover the distance from Albino (Italy) to Cape North (Norway) -4,183.8 km on a single full tank-, thus obtaining the award for the greatest distance driven on a single tank of fuel by a motorcycle (prototype).

The journey was possible thanks to the entire technical team of ACERBIS ITALIA SPA. The schedule took the motorbike through an specific route which enhanced fuel saving. From southern Europe to Northen Europe, the journey started in Albino, the home of Acerbis, and then took off to the Brenner Pass, Austria, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway and finally reaching the North Cape, at an average speed of around 70 kph. Three drivers took turns driving the vehicle: Alicia Sornosa, Andrea Rastrelli and Maurizio Vettor.
