Venhill Clutch Cable Upgrade for Tiger 800

Small-cost/big-gain upgrade for Triumph’s popular middleweight adventure bike.

British motorcycle control specialists Venhill have developed a Featherlight Clutch Cable kit for the Triumph Tiger 800 range. This low cost and easy-to-fit upgrade brings instant benefits to the popular middleweight adventurer.

Offering the specification of a large dual-sport bike in an easy-to-handle package, the Tiger 800 delivers serious touring and overlanding potential. Venhill’s new kit helps owners ride even further, improving clutch control and also reducing fatigue and discomfort in the hand and arm.

Developed and made by Venhill in their UK factory, Featherlight Kits use the latest cable technology and materials for improved performance and durability, as well as a smoother, lighter clutch action.

Each cable has high quality marine-grade stainless steel inner wire to eliminate stretch and is ‘Bird-caged’ – allowing solder to penetrate the weave of the cable, making the bond with the nipple much stronger – reducing the risk of breakage.

A PTFE ‘teflon’ liner minimises friction, and removes the need for regular lubrication. This is then wrapped in a stainless steel braid and covered with a hardened PA6 Nylon jacket, to protect the inner from damage and corrosion.

The new cable kits retail at just £25.32 inc VAT and are a direct replacement for the original, for quick and easy fitting. They include adjustment at lever end for fine-tuning the bite point.

Fitments are available for all Triumph Tiger 800, XC, XCa, XCX, XR, XRt and XRx models from MY2010-2020.

Acerbis Gets Its First Guinness World Record® To Celebrate 50th Anniversary

Official: 4,183.8 km from Albino to the North Cape is the greatest distance driven on a single tank of fuel by a motorcycle (prototype)

Acerbis conquers its first GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS®! The AC50 project led to the construction of the largest motorbike fuel tank entirely designed and built in-house, with a capacity of 108 litres, which made it possible to cover the distance from Albino (Italy) to Cape North (Norway) -4,183.8 km on a single full tank-, thus obtaining the award for the greatest distance driven on a single tank of fuel by a motorcycle (prototype).

The journey was possible thanks to the entire technical team of ACERBIS ITALIA SPA. The schedule took the motorbike through an specific route which enhanced fuel saving. From southern Europe to Northen Europe, the journey started in Albino, the home of Acerbis, and then took off to the Brenner Pass, Austria, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway and finally reaching the North Cape, at an average speed of around 70 kph. Three drivers took turns driving the vehicle: Alicia Sornosa, Andrea Rastrelli and Maurizio Vettor.

Guido Acerbis, CEO of Acerbis, is proud of accomplishing this challenge: “As a child, I admired the Guinness World Records book that my grandparents had given me and dreamed of entering it. Akrapovič Launches Stylish Exhaust for Suzuki V-Strom 800DE

Akrapovič has unveiled its new Slip-On Line (Titanium) exhaust for the Suzuki V-Strom 800DE with a dynamic design that has been specially crafted for Suzuki’s latest adventure motorcycle.

Constructed using race-proven materials, including high-grade titanium for the muffler outer sleeve, a stainless-steel link pipe and muffler inner structure, and a carbon-fibre end cap and heatshield, the exhaust is then finished with special imprints to provide an impressive visual statement. The new carbon-fibre heatshield – which is included in the package – has been designed from scratch to complement the exhaust, and its shape totally covers the link pipe to help protect the passenger gear from heat, making it both practical and stylish.

The focus of the Akrapovič engineers while developing this exhaust was also on the throttle response and rideability of the V-Strom 800DE, with noticeable power gains in the mid and high rpm range. When tested on the Akrapovič in-house dyno, the Slip-On Line (Titanium) produced a power increase of 1.1 kW (1.5 hp) at 6,000 rpm and a torque gain of 1.3 Nm at 6,100 rpm, when compared with a Suzuki V-Strom 800DE equipped with the standard stock system.

Weight has also been reduced through the use of lightweight materials, with the EC/ECE type-approved Slip-On Line (Titanium) delivering a reduction of 23.6% (1.2 kg) over the standard stock V-Strom 800DE exhaust. The dynamic design, lighter weight, and performance increases are complemented by a deep, vivid, and sporty Akrapovič sound, totally befitting the twin cylinder engine.

Honda’s Hornet has returned to the range after almost a decade, promising to be just as versatile as its 1990s namesake.

Modular Waterproof Luggage from SW-Motech

100% waterproof and lightweight luggage, with a very versatile attachment system.

SW-Motech’s new SysBag Waterproof Bags redefine how motorcycle luggage works, combining the lightness and waterproof construction of soft luggage with the convenience and stability of hard luggage mounting systems.

Made entirely of tough 210 Ripstop TPU material, with welded seams to keep any water out, there are three sizes to choose from – Large can hold up to 40 litres of luggage, Medium 23 litres and small has 16 litres capacity.

All feature roll top closure, combining easy access with a reliable waterproof seal, fastened by quick-release buckles on the top, where they can’t be snagged by branches or damaged in a fall.

The Large SysBag has a removable inner bag, complete with adjustable sections for organising kit, while the Medium and Small have separate zippered pockets inside.

Much lighter than hard luggage, SysBags are easier to handle off the bike too. They can be used individually or together, in dozens of different configurations, eg: a large bag on one side and a small/medium on the other, to clear a high level exhaust.

The new Acerbis’ Linear handguards are compatible with both mx and enduro bikes thanks to the Nylon bracelet fixing system, which can be fastened behind the pump reservoirs thus allowing the hand controls to be kept in their original positions.

The loop, characterized by a double self-tapping screw closure, allows millimeter adjustments on any type of handlebar. The covers, made of Polypropylene, feature a wide protective surface with five vents, that regulate the airflow to the riders’ fingers which is particularly useful on the hottest days.

The new Linear handguard is now available in 10 different colours.

To celebrate our 50th anniversary, starting from April 17th it will also be available in a limited edition gold version.

New upgraded, super-durable logo block

As part of our ongoing commitment to produce the world’s best motorcycle protection, we work alongside the world’s best racing teams.

We also listen to feedback from our valued dealers, but above all we listen to our customers and are always keen to learn how we can improve our products or our service to exceed expectations.

While many race teams replace their secondary engine covers regularly due to the very nature of their use, our road customers (thankfully!) often have the same protection in place for several years.

We have learned that the white coating on the current logo blocks can be taken off through regular cleaning with aggressive products and, over time, by use on salted winter roads.

This corrosion is something we are very happy to have solved with a brand new, high-temperature, pad-printed technique that in testing has proved almost impossible to remove.

This new logo block will be fitted to new stock as it is built in our Baldock production facility, and can also be purchased separately for customers wishing to upgrade or renovate their existing GBRacing covers.

Priced at just £2.99 / $3.83 / €3.11 for a pack of three, this is a very cost effective way for customers to update their covers with the added bonus of the new FIM approval dates to complete the fresh new look.

As an incentive for supporters of racing, for a limited time we’re going to offer a logo block ‘amnesty’ for anyone visiting the GBRacing support unit at British Superbikes, the Isle of Man TT or WorldSBK.

Customers can simply bring their old logo blocks and swap them for these super-durable new replacements at a cost of just £1 or €1.

GBRacing secondary covers remain as the only protective products to carry FIM product approval with each and every GBRacing component carefully created to meet the very strict requirements and standards.

With the Defensa, Touratech has opened a new chapter in the field of hand protectors. The two-piece bar, forged from a high-strength aluminium alloy, defies even the toughest stress. The rider’s hands and the handlebar fittings are just as excellently protected during sporty off-road use as they are on demanding expeditions.

What’s more, the Defensa is extremely versatile: while sporty adventure riders simply mount the light metal bar of the “Pure” version, adventure riders upgrade their protectors for mixed use with the extremely effective handguards to the Defensa “Expedition” version. Those who require even more wind protection can extend the protectors with the optionally available “Extension” spoilers.

And last but not least, unlike virtually all other hand protectors available on the market, the Touratech Defensa is manufactured specifically for each model. This means that the aluminium bar sits absolutely precisely and offers the levers exactly the space they require.

Venhill Throttle Cables for KTM and Husky 2-Strokes

High quality British-made control cables with improved performance, durability and a smoother action. 

Venhill now offer throttle cable upgrades for the latest generation of KTM and Husqvarna 2-stroke crossers – from the 50cc junior range right up to the 250cc models.

The design team at Venhill had to develop special hybrid core wire to cope with the ‘wheel’ fitting used by KTM to guide the cable to the throttle. The new Hybrid Core wire is wound in the opposite direction to regular cables, which is necessary to reduce friction where it bends bend round ‘wheel’ fitting.

The Venhill throttle cables are a direct replacement for the OEM KTM and Husky items and will deliver improved performance and durability along with smoother action – a quick and easy upgrade that can make a massive difference to performance and reliability.

Each cable is made to Venhill’s high quality Featherlight specification – marine-grade stainless steel inner wire and a PTFE ‘teflon’ liner, to minimise friction, give a lighter action and reduce the need for regular lubrication – a real plus when riding off-road.

They’re also ‘Bird-caged’ – a special process, which  allows solder to penetrate the weave of the cable, making the bond with the nipple much stronger. This helps prevent cable breakage when put under repeated stress and pressure – adding peace of mind when tackling demanding MX tracks.

Fitments are available for the KTM SX 125,150 and 250 from 2021-on and the Husqvarna TC125 and 250 2021-on. Prices start at  £33.86 (inc VAT).

Kids get the same quality as the adults too, with fitments for the KTM SX 50, 50 Mini, 65 and 85, (2021-on) as well as the 2021-on Husky TC50, 50 Mini and 85 at £33.86 (inc VAT).

Cables are available in Black, Orange and Blue options to match KTM and Husky factory colours. Other colours are available, to suit personal taste or for matching to team liveries, and Venhill cables can even be ordered with extra length, for custom set-ups.

Touratech comfort seat for the Harley-Davidson Pan America

Maximum comfort on long stages and optimum ergonomics in all riding situations: the two-piece Touratech comfort seat noticeably enhances the touring capability of the Harley-Davidson Pan America.

With its beefy Revolution Max 1250 engine, track-stable suspension system and generous on-board space, the Harley-Davidson Pan America is made for epic rides. But even a thoroughly successful vehicle like the Pan Am still offers plenty of scope for individualisation and optimisation.

For example, when it comes to the seat: The different statures of riders alone make a compromise in the design of standard equipment unavoidable. Not so with the Touratech comfort seat. This two-part design offers riders a choice of three different heights. And no matter which version is chosen, all the benefits of this seat, which has been manufactured with proven quality craftsmanship for more than two decades, play their part.

Seat core made of ergonomically shaped special foam
For a start, there is the high-grade core made of suitable quality foam, which is specific to the model and does not lose its shape even on the longest stages. The shape of the core is anatomically optimised. This means that not only is the contour completely free of disturbing edges but the special shaping also provides efficient relief for the coccyx and supports an upright sitting position. Thanks to the ingenious shaping of the contour, the Touratech comfort seat has a reduced inner leg curve length so that the rider’s feet reach the ground more easily although the seat height remains the same.

Seat cover with Fresh Touch technology
Through bonding the foam core and the seat cover over the entire surface, these two components are prevented from shifting independently. The result is wonderfully firm seating and optimum power transmission for precise handling. In addition, Fresh Touch technology reflects the infra-red part of sunlight, which results in up to 10 degrees less heat-up of the seat. Unlike other suppliers, Touratech has been using waterproof taped seams for more than 15 years, effectively preventing the penetration of water into the foam core.

Riders opting for the Touratech comfort seat retain full use of the standard height adjustment.

And the Touratech developers have also given a lot of thought to the pillion seat. Here, too, a foam mixture is used that is particularly suitable for long stages. In addition, a modified contour effectively prevents the passenger from sliding forward, considerably increasing the comfort of riding with a partner.

The Touratech comfort seat for the Harley-Davidson Pan America is ideally used as a set, but the rider and pillion seat are also available separately and are compatible with standard components.

Guardo Rambler GTX
The Touratech Guardo Rambler GTX is a 3-season glove with numerous sophisticated technical features. The waterproof and breathable Gore-Tex membrane is complemented by Gore Grip technology, which guarantees a secure grip and excellent tactility. The pre-forming of the glove also adds to this, allowing your fingers to rest, completely relaxed, on the handlebar grips.

The short cuffs are made of 4-way stretch material to give optimal freedom of movement.
Safety is also a top priority for this generously equipped glove. The palm protector is made of shock-absorbing SEESOFT™ Memory Foam, which effectively reduces impact energy in the case of a fall. It is embedded in highly abrasion-resistant TPU, ensuring that the glove glides across the asphalt, should your hand come into contact with it – which significantly reduces the risk of injury. On the back of the hand, hard-shell knuckle protectors made of thermoplastic polyurethane provide the necessary protection.
