Suzuki Set For Summer Roadshow

Suzuki’s test ride roadshow returns for 2015 with events taking place across the manufacturer’s dealer network this summer.

A mainstay of the Suzuki events calendar in recent years, the roadshow kicks off on July 4 and sees a whole fleet of demo machines tour the country, with test rides available on a number of models in the brand’s on-road range, including the new GSX-S1000 super-naked.

Also available to test ride at each event will be the GSX-S1000F, GSX-R1000 and both the V-Strom 650 and V-Strom 1000 machines. The iconic Hayabusa will be available to try, along with the GSX-R750, Intruder M1800RBZ, the Bandit 1250S, and the Burgman 650 Executive.

Suzuki GB Marketing Manager Rob Cooper said, “Our test ride roadshows have proven really popular with both dealers and customers alike in recent years. They give us a real opportunity to get out into dealerships and spend some time talking to customers, listening to their thoughts and feedback. It also gives people the chance to take a test ride on a number of bikes in the range and bikes that their dealership may not always have available as a demo machine. These events, coupled with events like our Biker Café days and Silverstone track day in August, make for an action-packed summer and we’re looking forward to getting the roadshow underway.”

With both north and south demo fleets touring the country, the first events in this year’s roadshow calendar take place at Motoden in London and Saltire Suzuki in Edinburgh on Saturday 4 July, and continue every weekend until the end of September.

For a full list of roadshow dates visit www.suzuki-gb.co.uk.

Terms & Conditions

Bike availability may differ at each event so please contact your local dealer for more information. GSX-S1000FA is not available on the roadshow until mid-July 2015. Demonstration rides require an agreed booking and are solely at the discretion of the dealer. With the paper counterpart for UK driving licences now redundant, those willing to take a test ride at any of the events must show both a photo card driving licence and their national insurance number so licence checks can be carried out. You may be asked for a deposit and further dealer terms and conditions may also apply. Please confirm your request with the dealer before travelling.

Calling all Triumph riders: your dealership needs you

The UK’s leading large-capacity motorcycle manufacturer, Triumph, is calling for riders across the country to showcase their pride and joy at the company’s Annual Dealer Open Day, which this year celebrates the Hinckley firm’s 25th Anniversary.

The British brand is asking owners to simply bring their bike along to a local dealership on the 23rd May, to be in with the chance of winning a one-in-a-lifetime Triumph experience.

Each dealership will choose its best-in-class example from five categories (those manufactured between 1991-1995, 1996-2000, 2001-2005, 2006-2010 and 2011-2015), before submitting a photo or video of their favourite from each period to Triumph’s national competition.

Hinckley headquarters will then choose the two most exciting examples in each class from across the country, with the owners invited for an exclusive tour of the Triumph production facilities, including an overnight stay at the Hinckley Island Hotel and dinner with Triumph’s UK team.

Rick Cawley, general manager of Triumph UK and Ireland, commented: “This year marks the 25th Anniversary of Hinckley Triumph. Countless new models and around 700,000 bike sales later, we continue to lead the way as Britain’s leading large capacity motorcycle manufacturer.

“To celebrate this milestone, we want to showcase the heritage and lineage of bikes manufactured over the past 25 years. What better way to do this than by asking owners from across the country to exhibit their pride and joy at a local dealership and take part in our national competition to find Britain’s best-in-class examples!

“As well as pristine models, we’re looking for interesting examples, creative customs and bikes with brilliant stories behind them. It’ll be a challenge to choose between them, but we’re confident that there will be a number of models that really stand out from the crowd.”

Ducati Scrambler apparel and accessories now available at Ducati dealerships and at the online shop

The dedicated Ducati Scrambler apparel and accessories line is now available at Ducati dealerships and at our online shop.

The Scrambler has been conceived as nothing less than a lifestyle. A world of bikes, accessories and apparel, characterised by creativity and free expression where fun and shared thrills make it more special than ever. Just as it’s possible to choose a version of the bike, so everyone can now choose and purchase the accessories and apparel that best mirror its own personality.

Casual, outdoor, authentic, the Ducati Scrambler apparel collection promotes free expression, in line with the modern philosophy, offering an up-to-date interpretation of the stylistic heritage of the past. Its “post-heritage” style is based on choosing the very best from the past to make it into absolutely innovative, contemporary designs.

The apparel is intended not just as “riding gear”, but as a true lifestyle option, able to cross and mix the boundaries between technical gear and fashion items.

The result is a vast, cross-generational collection of essential, authentic items with a contemporary feel, suitable for customers from all age groups.

Named after the English word “to scramble” (mixing up, blending), the Ducati Scrambler is a form of expression of the rider’s identity and lifestyle. The four motorcycle versions (Icon, Full Throttle, Classic and Urban Enduro) are just a starting point to create an absolutely unique and personalised model. Thanks to a wide range of ingredients, each Ducati Scrambler can be customised to suit any owner’s tastes.

A vast array of Ducati Performance ‘ingredients’ can be used to personalise the Ducati Scrambler, for example, chrome, matt black, or even carbon fibre tank side panels are available. Then there are a variety of solutions regarding the front mudguard, high plate holder, tank bag, canvas and leather panniers, high and low Termignoni slip-on exhaust, headlamp rim and grille, instrument panel rim, vintage grips, rear-view mirrors plus spoked wheels, four different seat versions and the low-slung tapered handlebars.

To enter the “Land of Joy”, just head for the nearest Ducati dealership and check out the collections and “ingredients” that will make each Ducati Scrambler unique. Alternatively, go to shop.ducati.com/scrambler, where a broad selection of sportswear and merchandising items are available and can be shipped directly to your home.

1299 Panigale arrives in Ducati dealerships this week

This week Ducati dealers throughout the UK and Ireland will welcome the arrival into their showrooms of the latest Ducati Superbike, the new 1299 Panigale.

Deliveries to the 31 strong dealer network have already begun with the majority of those initial bikes making their way on to the dealers demonstration fleets. Many customers and buyers who have pre-ordered the new Panigale will be anxious to test ride a bike that has received excellent reviews.

The 1299 Panigale debuts on UK roads in two versions, the standard and S. Both share the 1285cc Superquadro engine that produces an incredible torque of 144.6 Nm and 205hp. This stunning performance is contained within an incredibly compact monoque chassis that contributes significantly to a dry weight of just 166.5kg.

The 1299’s combination of extreme power, incredible torque and light weight needs to be harnessed and Ducati has achieved this thanks to innovative technology that allows a bike that is more powerful and more responsive than its predecessor to be safer and easier to ride.

The use of new electronic aids integrated into the now familiar riding modes is a major factor in making this an important leap forward in Superbike design. Both versions of the new Panigale share the Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU, Riding Modes (Race, Sport and Wet), Cornering ABS, Ducati Traction Control, Ducati Wheelie Control, Engine Braking Control, Ducati Quick Shifter up and TFT instrumentation with indicator of lean angle.  The S version goes further with Semi active Öhlins Smart EC suspension and steering damper and also possesses lightweight forged aluminium wheels, full LED headlight and front mudguard in carbon fibre. There is also a wide range of apparel and accessories linked with this thoroughbred from Bologna which can be seen at Ducati dealers as well as online at www.ducatiuk.com.

Dealers will also be able to take customers through the Ducati TriOptions offers that are available. The standard 1299 Panigale is available from £179 per month or the S version from £235 per month*.

Fowlers voted best for trade spares service

Fowlers has been voted the Wholesaler of the Year by British motorcycle dealers for the second time in three years. Trade magazine British Dealer News, which is distributed to 9,745 people employed in the motorcycle industry, invited readers to vote in the annual poll and presented awards based on the results. Parts & Contact Centre Manager, Pete Aitkenhead, who has worked at Fowlers for 35 years, collected the award from TV presenter Steve Parrish and current MotoGP racer Scott Redding, in front of a packed audience of 350 motorcycle industry personnel at a ceremony held during Motorcycle Expo, the UK’s biggest trade event.

Following an agreement with BSA, Fowlers began distributing motorcycle parts in 1959 and the team of 25 parts advisors working with Pete shares approximately 300 years’ experience. Today, Fowlers is the official UK parts distributor for Yamaha, Piaggio, Vespa, Gilera and Derbi. The company also supplies spares for Honda, Suzuki, KTM, Moto Guzzi, Aprilia and Triumph and carries substantial stocks of Kawasaki parts, plus clothing and accessories for all Piaggio Group brands too.

Fowlers has recently invested in an Electronic Parts Catalogue system [EPC], which trade customers can use to look up parts, check whether they are in stock and place orders. The EPC also highlights low stock, out of stock and discontinued lines.  Trade customers can find out more by calling Fowlers Wholesale on 0117 977 8899 or visiting www.fowlerswholesale.co.uk.
