LS2 Valiant II

The UK’s favourite 180-degree flip-front helmet just got better. LS2 have unveiled the Valiant II helmet for 2020, featuring a brand new shell and a self-up visor mechanism – alongside a host of other improvements – making it the smallest, lightest and easiest to use in its class.

The Valiant II will sit alongside the existing Valiant in the range, offering riders more choice. Just like its stablemate, the Valiant II features a 180º swing-around chin bar and is doubly certified as both a full-face and open-face helmet – so it’s legal to ride in open-face mode.

Updates start with an outer shell, which features redesigned aerodynamics for greater stability and reduced fatigue at speed. Made from KPA (Kinetic Polymer Alloy) – a blend of polycarbonate, space-age thermoplastics and additional materials – it provides high penetration resistance and energy dispersion, and weighs only 1700g.

Ventilation has also been enhanced, with two intake and three exhaust ports up top, along with a redesigned chin intake.

Also new is the Valiant II’s self-up visor mechanism, which automatically opens the visor when the chin bar is lifted. It also features an improved quick-release mechanism for easier removal and refitting and comes with a Pinlock anti-fog shield.

The Valiant is also LRP 3 Bluetooth ready, for wireless connectivity on the move.

The 2020 LS2 Valiant II comes in sizes XS-XXL in solid and graphic colour options. Graphics retail at just £269.99, while prices for the solid colour options start at £249.99.

Each one comes with a helmet bag that converts into a rucksack, so it’s easy to carry the Valiant II when you reach your destination.

The best-selling original Valiant (Valiant 1) continues in the 2020 range, in solid colours only, with the price reduced to £219.99.

LS2 Subverter Now With MIPS

Updated for 2020, LS2’s popular Subverter motocross helmet now comes with MIPS (Multi-directional Impact Protection System) technology.

The latest innovation in helmet safety, the MIPS Brain Protection System is designed to protect against rotational brain injury – caused by movement between the brain and skull when the head suffers an impact.

MIPS is a low friction layer that sits between the helmet’s EPS liner and fabric lining, allowing the head to move 10-15mm relative to the helmet in all directions. This redirects energies and forces otherwise transferred to the brain, reducing the risk of damage to brain tissue due to rotational motion.

Light, bright and cool, the Subverter is one of LS2’s most popular motocross helmets. The outer shell is made from LS2’s exclusive Kinetic Polymer Alloy (KPA), a super strong material rivalling high-end composites, which offers flexibility for energy absorption and high penetration resistance, yet remains lightweight at just 1300 grams.

ECE 22.05 certified, it’s legal to wear on the road and carries the ACU Gold sticker for off-road sport. It comes in three outer shell sizes for the smallest, lightest possible helmet in each fitment range.

Emergency Release System cheek pads enable first responders to remove the Subverter with minimal movement of a fallen rider’s head and neck.

Multiple venting and channelling around the head allow plenty of airflow, while the breathable, hypoallergenic lining is removable and washable, so it can be kept fresh and clean all-season.

The long peak is adjustable and a wide aperture offers plenty of all-round vision and can accommodate most styles of motocross goggles.

The Subverter comes in sizes XS-3XL, in a choice of two solid and 10 eye-catching graphic finishes, including exclusive ‘Chrome’ and ‘Max’ options. Solid colour versions retail at £149.99; graphic versions sell for £179.99; Chrome and Max options cost £199.99.

AGV and Valentino Rossi Present The Pista GP R Winter Test 2019

AGV and Valentino Rossi are pleased to reveal the Winter Test 2019 livery created for the first tests of the year, to be held on Malaysia’s Sepang International Circuit. The brand-new design showcases shapes and neon colors that make the Pista GP R helmet a true work of art.

Valentino Rossi just headed down to the track for the first tests of the year with the brand-new Winter Test 2019 design, which will join the Doctor’s immense collection of AGV jewels. The Pista GP R will showcase neon colors like yellow, for which Rossi is known, as well as green, fuchsia and orange. The ever-present Sun and Moon are there as well, now stylized on the front of the shell with a thin yet visible blue line. The Rossi/Drudi duo, who have been working together for more than twenty years, opted for a bright, eye-catching design that will grab attention on and off the track. The helmet’s design showcases large overlapping brushstrokes paired with the number 46, written in freehand script. Together, it makes for a dynamic design that stands out from the understated Sun/Moon version used during the last Championship.

Valentino himself stated that he is excited about the creation and shared the inspiration behind the special livery: “As for every season’s tests, I made a special helmet for this year as well. It’s always a great experience to work on a special edition…”

Crosshelmet The 360° Vision That Revolutionizes Riding On Two Wheels

Safety is of the utmost importance to a motorcyclist. CrossHelmet engineers, with experience developing products such as the Yamaha MT-09 and the Walkman, understand this and designed a technological helmet that combines safety and beautiful design.

“High rates of motorcycle accidents are often caused by poor visibility or distraction. Our unique technology reduces this problem by providing a rear camera that displays what’s behind you onto the HUD, to eliminate blind spots,” said founder and CEO Arata Oono.

Blind spots are completely eliminated in this new helmet thanks to the revolutionary CrossHelmet Augmented Reality technology. An integrated rear view camera projects the images directly onto a head-up display (HUD) so that the motorcyclist no longer has to look away from the road to see the vehicles through the motorcycle mirrors. With this new CrossHelmet technology, the driver can effortlessly see a wide angle behind him, in a fraction of a second and with minimal head movement, enabling a safer and smoother driving experience. An app that connects your smartphone to CrossHelmet via Bluetooth allows users to check battery levels and safety lights, and access maps. The app allows you to view information on the head-up display and show directions to your desired destination, compass, weather, time and trip data.

Loud noises can increase the stress and fatigue of the rider. To solve this problem, CrossHelmet X1 is equipped with CrossSound Control, a patented noise reduction system that is the first of its kind in the motorcycle industry. It uses a system of algorithms to filter out sound. A group chat function also allows the motorcyclist to communicate with multiple people at the same time, even without CrossHelmet. The helmet’s speakers offer high quality music, podcasts/radios and phone calls. CrossHelmetX1 is available for pre-order through its Indiegogo InDemand campaign, with a reduced pre-order price of $1,500. Retail price is planned to be $1,799.

Users can already pre-order it today on https://crosshelmet.com/ with Indiegogo.

The Group Lloyd team in the UK, Darren Snow and David Brown, who between them have 23 years’ experience selling Nitro helmets to UK dealers, will be working with the Bickers sales team to ensure a smooth transition for all Nitro’s current dealers.

Speaking about the addition of Nitro products to its range, Derek McMartin, Bickers managing director, commented: “Having the Nitro brand join the Bickers family is special for us in more ways than one. Not only are we adding yet another industry leading brand to our world-class offering, but we are also continuing a tradition of working closely with Group Lloyd. The founder of the company, George Lloyd, worked closely with my father for 40 years, and I am proud to be continuing that by working with his daughter, Vicky Lloyd, and the whole Group Lloyd Team. I am positive that adding Nitro helmets to the Bickers range will prove to be an extremely fruitful relationship for everyone involved, and we can’t wait for customers to get their hands on these top quality products.”

Vicky Lloyd confirmed, “We are pleased to announce that Bickers will be the exclusive distributor of Nitro Helmets in the UK and Ireland. Appointing Bickers was an easy choice and having worked with them over the last months I can confirm that their reputation truly does precede them. The entire team is both knowledgeable and enthusiastic which we are sure will translate to an exceptional service for the UK Nitro dealer network.”

As a result of Bickers adding Nitro helmets to its extensive portfolio of products, the firm has appointed Mark Taylor as helmet, clothing and accessories brand manager. Mark will oversee Nitro and many other brands in the sector as Bickers look to expand its offering in the near future.

Bickers was established 40 years’ ago and has unrivalled understanding of the motorcycle parts and accessories market in the UK. It works in partnership with its dealers to facilitate strong profit margins and continued consumer loyalty.

Nitro helmets
Nitro® exploded out of the beautiful English Lake District and onto the international motorcycle scene at the start of the Millennium and changed the helmet market forever. Company founder George Lloyd, already a successful name within the motor industry for over 50 years, saw the opportunity in a market dominated by expensive brand names. Within years of inception Nitro® had sold over 5 million helmets into 60 countries worldwide based on this value philosophy – high end specifications and features of the market leaders but at affordable prices everyday bikers and enthusiasts wanted.
Today the brand continues this trajectory offering a wide collection of products based on this founding principle. Nitro® – a name you can have confidence in whatever you ride, wherever you ride it.
