Ventura Supercharge Touring

Praised for its comfort, poise and of course performance, Kawasaki’s Z H2 SE is more than capable of munching miles.

The supercharged super naked is lacking in one crucial area though: carrying capability, so Ventura have added the Kawasaki to its Evo Luggage system fitment list.

Originally developed for sportsbike riders, who wanted luggage that was light, stable and wouldn’t upset handling, Ventura has proved ideal for carrying kit on naked street bikes with minimalist rear-ends, like the H2 SE.

Carrying a passenger (left) Riding Solo (right)

Ventura’s Evo System is made up of just three elements:

  1. Discreet L-Brackets – tailor made for the Z H2 and which attach to existing mounts;
  2. An Evo Rack – offering a stable and secure platform for the luggage;
  3. The Evo Pack – which simply slides on and clips in place.

Unlike soft luggage, the Pack won’t move around – even when riding hard – thanks to the ‘sleeve-fitting’ system. It is quick and easy to remove and remount the Pack too.

When riding solo, the Pack is carried directly behind the rider and close to the bike’s centre of gravity, helping to keep the motorcycle well balanced. When a passenger is on board, it can be re-positioned behind the pillion seat in seconds.

Both options carry the load well clear of the Z H2’s rear wheel and unlike panniers there’s no extra width added to the bike – leaving the rider free to filter and enabling easy access to tight parking spots.

When luggage isn’t needed, the Pack and Rack can be removed in seconds, leaving only the L-brackets in place and the Z H2’s clean lines uncluttered. There’s also the option to replace the Rack with a Grab Handle.

Packs come in various sizes, from the handy 12-litre Evo-12 to the massive 60-litre Evo-60 Jet Stream. Each one is made from water-resistant and durable laminated ballistic fabric, with wide openings for quick and easy access to contents and aerodynamic shaping to cheat the wind.

A typical system for the H2 SE – consisting of the L-Brackets, Evo Rack and an Evo-22 Jet Stream Pack – retails at £418.50 including VAT.

An accessible treat for a return to the routine

GIVI launches its comfortable and functional EA129 urban backpack, ready to face the demands of everyday motorcycle riding.

Backpacks are one of the most common accessories that motorcycle riders turn to in order to solve a lack of cargo space. However, not all of them have been specifically developed for use on two wheels, nor are they comfortable, nor are they prepared to withstand the daily commute. That is why brands such as GIVI, which has more than 40 years of experience in the development and manufacture of bags, suitcases, top cases and other storage and transport capacity products, are creating new accessories such as the EA129 backpack, specially designed for motorcycle and scooter users.

More and more items are being used by the Italian brand to expand its already extensive collection. The newest member of the motorcycle backpacks and bags family, the EA129 is intended to become the desired option for all those who are returning to their urban routine on two wheels. Comfort and functionality are some of the outstanding qualities of this resistant 15-litre capacity backpack, made of 600D POLY/PU.

Designed by and for motorcyclists, the GIVI EA129 has a padded back and ergonomic shoulder straps for greater comfort, both on the move when riding and in everyday use when on foot. It also incorporates an ergonomic handle for transport by hand.

The new backpack boasts a multitude of details to increase its functionality, from a thermoformed front pocket to store glasses and other delicate objects, to 3 different compartments -one of which is designed to store a tablet or laptop up to 17″ in size. Two side pockets, a phosphor yellow waterproof cover, side compression straps and the textile band on the back -allowing easy transport on a trolley- are other standout features.

The GIVI EA129 backpack also features reflective inserts to increase the rider’s visibility, and is available for the price of £60.00 + VAT retail.

Navigating on a bike… with the itinerary at your fingertips

GIVI tells us the secrets of how to fit smartphone or GPS holders on your bike

Do you remember when only paper maps were used for travelling? And to call home, on the other side of the world, you had to go to a post office? Those days are long gone.
Today, small technological devices such as the smartphone or GPS have become indispensable for communicate, navigate and those who explore the world by motorcycle too. But … where and how are they fixed on board? GIVI gives you some tips.

You really can do everything with a Smartphone: communicate, take photos, share things, and find your bearings … This is why many travelers choose to rely completely on this kind of mobile device when taking a trip. However, there are some routes that require an extra guarantee: GPS navigators with satellite signals reception even in the most remote places, without the support of a network connection or previously prepared routes on files, such as GPX. However the most “experienced” travelers tend to have a Plan B, which often takes the form of (old, expensive) printed maps that still find a special place in many of the tank bags currently in production.

Smartphones and GPS: which ones exist?
The market offers plenty of solutions, but it would be impossible not to indicate GIVI as the reference brand, given its great commitment to researching holders, types of mountings, materials, shapes… to successfully diversify what is on offer. Let’s have a look at the current range:

Device holder equipped with “case”
Models that allow for the insertion of a Smartphone or GPS navigator inside a semi-rigid case, equipped with a sun visor and a transparent touch-sensitive window, to allow access and use of the device’s screen. The S95 line is available in different sizes and layouts depending on the device. The rainproof cover supplied adds an extra guarantee for the safety of the device, although it is not 100% waterproof it still offers plenty of protection from light rain and on short journeys.

Adjustable holder Smart Clip
The Smart Clip has been designed to accommodate almost all Smartphones on the market and can be adjusted both vertically and horizontally. Designed for those who want to have quicker access to their phone, use the front and rear cameras regularly, or use different sized devices. The clip is available in two sizes, S920M and S920L. And to add extra security, especially for those who use it on bumpy roads, an elastic, in the shape of an “8”, is included. What if it rains? Simply purchase one of the GIVI T519 waterproof covers.

How can they be properly fixed to the bike?
To mount the device holders of the Italian brand, GIVI has developed its “Mini-Tanklock” mounting system, which allows not only to attach and detach the holder in seconds, but also to install it in places with irregular sections, for example on the rear-view mirrors of some scooters. This system consists of a structure, divided into two parts like a clamp that covers the handlebars, with adjustment screws and a circular structure that fits into the smartphone holder. In addition, it has a safety strap in case the device holder case is not securely fastened.

However, GIVI also offers alternative solutions for attaching smartphone holders in exceptional cases when, due to aesthetic reasons or technical impossibility (for example because the mirrors are located on the fairing or at the end of the handlebars), they cannot be attached in the normal way. So the Italian company has its functional and carefully designed accessories S901A, S902A and S903A, or the new S904B, which use the brake or clutch fluid reservoir caps as a base.

And for those who still use their Garmin or Tom Tom, GIVI also has tailor-made solutions for these devices which, mounted on the mentioned bases, allow the original mounting system to be fitted.

Even for those who need to carry several devices, the specialized brand has provided its FB aluminium bar or S900A that create a support for positioning smartphones, Telepass holders, GPS or even action cameras.

And where do we place the map in case we have to activate plan B?
However, as sophisticated as the new devices are, there is always something that can go wrong (breakdown, power failure, theft …) and it is on these occasions that a paper map can come in handy.

Economical, they don’t run out of power and don’t lose the signal; there is little risk of them being stolen either. When technology refuses to cooperate, it is always useful for a motorcycle traveler to have a couple of maps with them, which do a great job at helping to find the way.

Keeping your maps and route in sight is easy with tank bags like the most of the collection offered by GIVI. Some like the UT809 Tanklocked, EA103B or EA131 Tanklock have been specially designed to increase the carrying capacity on your travels and provide functional solutions like the wide transparent map pocket.

And finally: just think of the sense of “adventure” they bring to the trip! They represent an iconography that make them objects to be treasured once the journey is over.

Details that shine with their own light

GIVI launches the new E198 courtesy interior light accessory for aluminium cases.

The Italian company, specialists in the development and manufacture of motorcycle accessories, have developed a small, highly functional detail for users of their aluminium top cases. In their quest to make life riding on two wheels easier, GIVI’s R&D department are always coming up with new solutions that make the brand the gold standard in their sector. The E198 courtesy interior light is the latest addition to a series of accessories for those who pay attention to smallest details.

GIVI have been marketing some of the best motorcycle gear for over 45 years, and in recent times its development team have gone to great lengths to bring some of their most successful ideas to life. Now the brand has produced a comfortable courtesy light for the interior of their aluminium top cases and suitcases. Powered by a rechargeable lithium battery, the E198 light can also be removed and used as an emergency flashlight.

Especially when travelling on a motorcycle at night or in winter, a lack of light can make it difficult to quickly locate a specific item amongst the luggage or belongings that are carried inside a side or rear case. To solve this problem, the leading firm in the development of motorcycle and scooter equipment presents a light which turns on automatically through the use of a gyroscope, which is activated when the lid is opened, and can be placed inside the case. A lithium battery, rechargeable with the included USB cable, gives it the power for operation.

Offering tremendous functionality, GIVI have made it so that it is possible to remove the accessory if necessary, for use as an emergency flashlight. This great idea, turned into reality, is available for a price of £15.42 + VAT retail.

The customisation of aluminium cases and top-cases is part of GIVI’s DNA; their range of optional accessories expanded over the years and today it features a wide range of items. Along with the courtesy light are backrests, luggage racks, additional handles, a trolley base, a stainless steel water bottle and its holder, extendable internal bags and folding backpacks, straps, internal covers, elastic storage nets and much more.

Touratech parts for KTM 1290 Adventure

Touratech already has an extensive range of accessories in stock for the brand new KTM 1290 Super Adventure, and numerous other parts are being developed to make this big travel enduro even fitter for touring and offroad use.

The KTM 1290 Super Adventure not only lives up to its name, it positively challenges its rider to join it in the search for great adventures. This robust V-twin offers more than enough power for long distances, while the riding modes help to ground the power safely in offroad terrain. The “R” version adds a long-stroke suspension with large 21/18-inch spoke wheels that’s just as convincing on dirt roads as it is on gritty trails – and just as capable when it comes to sporty road riding.

Riders who accept the Adventure’s challenge obtain the parts needed for unforgettable adventures, in everything from everyday life to expeditions, from Touratech.

Protector equipment for tough rides
When riding on adventurous trails, solid protector equipment is indispensable. This is why KTM has equipped the R version of the 1290 Super Adventure with a crash bar as standard; for the standard version, this robust product is available as a factory accessory. Touratech goes one better and offers an extension that also provides protection for the fairing in even the toughest conditions.

A solid engine guard is also a must for offroad riding. The tried-and-tested “Expedition” protector made of folded ultra-robust aluminium sheeting, which, thanks to the distinctive plastic rails on its underside, acts as a skid plate that makes even rock-strewn slopes lose their terror, is also available for the Super Adventure.

For the KTM 1290 Super Adventure as well, the essentials in terms of protection also include headlight protectors and hand protectors, which are of course available from Touratech in the best quality. As an option to the proven hand protector made of unbreakable plastic, the 1290 can also be fitted with the high-end Defensa protector. In this case, a super-robust, forged aluminium bracket is responsible for protecting your handlebar fittings and hands – which can be upgraded with plastic shells and spoilers to provide suitable weather protection for touring.

Protective elements for the ABS sensor and the rear brake fluid reservoir round off our range of protectors.

Luggage systems – at home on any trail
Thanks to its enormous long-distance capability, the KTM 1290 Super Adventure is predestined for epic trips. To enable the rider to stow even a large amount of luggage securely whatever the terrain, Touratech has adapted the ZEGA Evo X aluminium pannier system, which has been tried and tested ten thousand times over, to the Adventure. This “special system” makes particularly effective use of the space available by cleverly fitting the rack and panniers around the rear silencer, combining maximum volume with minimum overall width. Otherwise, everything is as before: indestructible racks made of 18-millimetre-thick stainless steel tubing, panniers made of 1.5-millimetre-thick aluminium sheet, equipped with what is probably the world’s most robust one-hand fastening system. A system with a straight standard rack is already being developed.

Even really fat rack packs, such as those used by long-distance travellers on their month-long trips, sit securely on the aluminium and stainless steel luggage rack.

And the Touratech developers have also kept those travellers in mind who appreciate the comforts of a topcase. There is a tailor-made support for the ZEGA Evo Topcase with a volume of 38 litres for the 1290 Super Adventure. Smaller items can be stowed in the Ibarra handlebar bag for easy access, or in the Ambato tail rack bag.

And of course, there is also a version of the proven Ambato EXP Rallye tank bag, adapted to the big KTM.

And last but not least, the indestructible, waterproof soft luggage solutions of the “Extreme Edition by Touratech Waterproof” series also harmonise perfectly with the new 1290 KTM

Perfect ergonomics for optimal performance
Lengthy rides also put the rider’s physical condition to the test. To prevent any sign of your performance dropping, even after many hours of riding, individually adapted motorcycle ergonomics are essential.

The biggest step forward for Adventure riders, when it comes to long-distance capability, is the Touratech one-piece comfort seat. The high-quality foam won’t sag even under continuous use, and the ergonomic design distributes the load precisely, so that strain on the rider is minimised. Currently, seat variants in three different heights are being developed.

You can achieve perfect posture and balance when standing, by combining the handlebar riser with the wide long-distance foot pegs. The Pivot Pegz articulated foot pegs provide you with additional freedom of movement on your motorcycle. The brake lever extension ensures reliable deceleration even when wearing clunky enduro boots.

Small parts, big effect
Although at first glance quite inconspicuous, it’s all the small parts, into which decades of Touratech offroad experience has flowed, that offer the decisive advantage out on the tracks. When the going gets tough, the folding, length-adjustable mirror proves its worth just as quickly as the kick stand support extension (only “R”), the stainless steel chain guard fin, the folding brake lever or the carefully assembled set of professional tools.

And so much more…
The above-mentioned products mark the beginning of the Touratech accessories range for the KTM 1290 Super Adventure. Numerous other parts are in development or already being tested.

Ventura luggage system for updated MT-09

Owners of the latest generation Yamaha MT-09 can set up for summer touring in one easy step, with the Ventura Evo Luggage system.

Originally developed for sports bike riders, who wanted luggage that was light, stable and wouldn’t upset handling, Ventura has proved ideal for carrying kit on naked street bikes like the MT-09, with minimalist rear-ends

Ventura’s Evo System is made up of just three elements:

  • Discreet L-Brackets – tailor made for the MT-09 and which attach to existing mounts;
  • An Evo Rack – offering a stable and secure platform for the luggage;
  • The Evo Pack – which simply slides on and clips in place.

Both options carry the load well clear of the MT’s rear wheel and unlike panniers there’s no extra width added to the bike – leaving the rider free to filter and enabling easy access to tight parking spots.

When luggage isn’t needed, the Pack and Rack can be removed in seconds, leaving only the L-brackets in place and the MT’s clean lines uncluttered. There’s also the option to replace the Rack with a Grab Handle.

Packs come in various sizes, from the handy 12-litre Evo-12 to the massive 60-litre Evo-60 Jet Stream. Each one is made from water-resistant and durable laminated ballistic fabric, with wide openings for quick and easy access to contents, aerodynamic shaping to cheat the wind and much more.

A typical system for the MT-09 (2021 on), with L-Brackets, Evo-Rack and the Evo-22 Pack (pictured), costs £393.06 including VAT. The optional Grab Handle is just £22.80 including VAT.

Flat Track Packs for Indian FTR

Indian FTR owners who’re going round in circles to find a luggage solution can rest easy, because Ventura has added the flat tracker to its Evo Luggage System fitment list.

An ultra minimalist rear end and upswept exhausts give the FTR an authentic flat track look, but do little to aid carrying luggage.

Developed to solve the problem, the Ventura System adds versatile luggage capacity, without the weight and unsightly racking of hard luggage, and with much more stability and practicality than soft bags.

Quick and easy to mount – and even easier to live with – the Evo System is made up of just three elements:

  1. Discreet L-Brackets – tailor made for the FTR and which attach to existing mounts;
  2. An Evo Rack – offering a stable and secure platform for the luggage;
  3. The Evo Pack – which simply slides on and clips in place.

Ventura’s sleeve-fitting system means the Pack won’t move around – even when riding hard. It’s also quick and easy to remove and reattach the Pack at stops – no straps or fiddly locks and keys.

When riding solo, the Pack is carried directly behind the rider and close to the bike’s centre of gravity; when a passenger is on board, it can be re-positioned behind the pillion seat in seconds.

Both options carry the load well clear of the FTR’s upswept exhausts and the rear wheel. Unlike panniers, there’s no extra width added to the bike.

When luggage isn’t needed, the Pack and Rack can be removed in seconds, leaving only the L-brackets in place. There is also an option to replace the Rack with a Grab Handle, leaving the FTR’s clean lines uncluttered.

Packs come in various sizes, from the handy 12-litre Evo-12 to the massive 60-litre Evo-60 Jet Stream. Each one features water-resistant and durable laminated ballistic fabric construction, with wide openings for quick and easy access to contents, aerodynamic shaping to cheat the wind and much more.

A typical System for the FTR, with L-Brackets, Evo-Rack and the Evo-22 Pack (pictured), costs £364.62 including VAT – significantly less than hard luggage. The optional Grab Handle is just £22.80 including VAT and Ventura are currently offering one free with any luggage kit (including L-Brackets, Rack, and Pack).

Fitments are currently available for the 2019-2021 Indian FTR, FTR S and FTR R Carbon.

Add a removable glove box to your motorcycle

With the ST610 Seatlock GIVI saddle bag, riders can expand the load capacity of their motorcycle in the blink of an eye.

As a general rule, load capacity is the “Achilles heel” of a motorcycles when compared to scooters or trail or touring models, which boast spacious cases in which to carry everything a rider might need. That is, up until now: GIVI, the Italian company specialising in the development and manufacture of motorcycle accessories, has once again found a solution to an important aspect of the riding experience, providing new and functional solutions for the transport of small objects with its removable ST610 Seatlock saddle bag. It is an accessory which can also be combined with other tank bags, cases or top box.

The 10-litre capacity GIVI ST610 Seatlock bag is a thermoformed bag equipped with the comfortable SEATLOCK system, which allows for assembly and disassembly in an instant. Acting as a practical glove compartment due to its dimensions, it can be combined with the use of a tank bag to expand the load capacity for all of a rider’s essential items.

This product has been manufactured in high resistance 1200D PVC polyester with PU (synthetic leather) inserts and thermoformed EVA, coated with anti-scratch PU. The outer material has high resistance to UV rays, and all of these qualities protect the content of the bag and increase its durability and resistance.

Its most outstanding virtue is its ease of instant assembly and disassembly, but there is another series of details that catch the eye: Handles compatible with the closing mechanism by means of a security padlock (not included) or the elastic straps present on the lid, the function of which is to allow a small additional load such as gloves or a waterproof suit be attached when they are required very close to hand. In addition, the load capacity is expandablethanks to the extension of the outer area, it has a waterproof cover, and the ergonomic handle and adjustable strapmean it can be carried as a shoulder bag. An excellent finish uses reflective prints and inserts for greater visibility, reinforcing the important aspect as of safety. The bag is designed to be placed on the passenger seat area, or the rider’s seat itself. It is attached using the Seatlock S430 universal base (which must be installed first), and is especially recommended for both sports and naked models -although it can also be used to complement any motorcycle without a suitcase or top case.

The GIVI S430 SEATLOCK on which the bag is mounted is a universal base for a TANKLOCK or TANKLOCKED bag in the passenger seat. It is characterised by a design that is immediately reminiscent of the more ‘sporty’ sector. It is equipped with the TANKLOCK quick fixing system, which has been designed to allow for universal adaptation to any model of motorcycle, with assembly and disassembly times of less than 5 minutes -without using tools.

It is made up of a scratch-resistant and non-slip rubber base, with a simple and fast attachment system with adjustable straps. For those who never ride solo, there is the possibility of attaching to the GIVI aluminum M8A, M8B, M9A and M9B racks. It is not compatible with TANKLOCK and TANKLOCKED bag models with curved undersides.

This bag provides an intelligent alternative to a typical tank bag, or can act as a perfect complement to it to expand load capacity without resorting to a small top case or textile suitcases. The GIVI ST610 Seatlock bag is available from £84.58 + VAT retail, with the GIVI S430 base retailing from £19.58 + VAT retail..

Touratech Accessories for KTM 890 Adventure

To cover the KTM 890 Adventure’s broad range of use, Touratech offers an extensive selection of accessories. This selection includes luggage systems, protectors, ergonomically designed parts and lots of practical accessories.

Luggage systems
For transporting luggage, there is the tried and tested pannier rack made of robust 18 mm stainless steel tubing, which has been perfectly adapted to the geometry of the 890. The rack – available with an electro-polished or black-coated surface – can be fitted with the complete range of ZEGA aluminium panniers. This clever, specially designed system fits tightly around the rear silencer, making particularly efficient use of the space available at the rear and saving on overall width. A topcase rack and luggage plates are also available for securely lashing a luggage roll.
In addition, there is a choice of numerous soft luggage items including three model-specific tank bags and a range of other bags.

Protectors
Of course, robust protector equipment is an absolute must on a meaty enduro like the KTM 790 Adventure. The three-piece Rallye Evo engine guard is designed for tough use. It consists of an extra-robust Skid Plate made of canted aluminium and hydro-formed side panels that hug the engine tightly with their complex three-dimensional design. If you want to continue using the standard KTM engine guard, Touratech offers a Hard Part for reinforcement. A strong bracket made of 25 mm stainless steel tube is responsible for protecting the fairing and the tank. The brand new Defensa hand protectors are, of course, also available for the 890. Thanks to diverse configurations, they can be perfectly adapted to different usage profiles, from hard enduro riding to touring.
Effective protectors for sensors, expansion tanks or headlight round off the selection.

Ergonomics
And, when it comes to ergonomics, the 890 Adventure can also be further upgraded with Touratech Parts. Comfort seats, which are available in three heights, ensure optimum long-distance capability. The Pivot Pegz articulated foot pegs, or wide long-distance foot pegs, and handlebar risers are excellent for off-road use, while the windscreen is a favourite with tour riders.

Riders who don’t like the Adventure’s airy seat height will be thrilled by the 30 millimetre lowering of the suspension.

Accessories
Touratech also offers a huge range of accessories for the KTM 890 Adventure – from adjustable handlebar levers and a professional tool set through to support widening for the legendary kick stand – providing that little extra bit of riding enjoyment and practical benefit.

Andy Strapz – Loads more secure

Safe, strong, super quick and easy to use, Andy Strapz are a game-changer for attaching luggage to bikes.

  • Significantly stronger than bungee cords
  • 50 mm wide so they won’t cut into or roll off cargo
  • Heavy duty Velcro® for a strong safe join
  • No dangerous or damaging hooks or fiddly clips
  • Multiple lengths and configurations
  • Easily adjusted to suit changing loads
  • They come from a land down under

The brainchild of a senior emergency nurse, who’d seen too many permanent eye injuries caused by bungee cords, Andy Strapz are 50 mm-wide, flat-profile, elasticated webbing straps, secured with Velcro®.

Their flat profile means they won’t cut into the cargo they’re securing, even when pulled tight –  the width spreads the pressure evenly. It also means they stay exactly where they’re positioned and won’t ‘roll off’ or ‘creep’ to the centre of the load, like round profile cords invariably do.

Secured along the strap with Velcro®, there are no dangerous or damaging hooks; fiddly and unreliable plastic buckles or clips to break; and no loose ends to flap about in the wind.

Their design also allows quick and easy adjustment, by simply wrapping round the anchor point or the load until fully secure – ideal if the load increases or decreases in size en-route.

Each one features a built-in loop for pulling the strap tight and into position, which are big enough to operate with a gloved hand.

Designed and made in Australia, there are three styles of Andy Strapz to choose from; regular Flat Strapz, Piggyback Strapz, for strapping one item on top of another and Smart Strapz, designed for lashing to footpeg hangers and luggage racks.

Andy Strapz come in 750 mm, 1000 mm and 1500 mm lengths and prices start from just £20 including VAT per pair.

They’re available in the UK from BMW and touring accessory specialist www.nippynormans.com

Running on MT? Fill up with Ventura

Ventura’s Evo Luggage System is now available for Yamaha’s popular MT-07 Tracer (2017-2021) and MT-10 (2016-2021), adding much-needed carrying capacity, without the hassle, bulk and expense of hard luggage.

Refined over the last 30 years, the Ventura Evo System combines the best elements of hard and soft luggage for a truly versatile, lightweight and cost-effective baggage solution.

Perfect for stripped-down bikes like the MT range, Ventura adds minimal weight; doesn’t require unsightly frames (like hard-luggage) and is much more stable than soft bags.

Quick and easy to mount, and even easier to live with, the Evo System is made up of just three elements:

  1. Discreet L-Brackets, which are tailor made for the bike and attach to existing mounting points;
  2. An Evo Rack, which slots into the L-Brackets, offering a stable and secure platform for the luggage;
  3. The Evo Pack, that simply slides onto the Evo Rack and clips into place.

It’s unique sleeve-fitting system means the pack won’t move around – even when riding hard. It’s also quick and easy to remove and reattach the pack at stops – no complex straps or fiddly locks and keys.

When riding solo, the Pack is carried directly behind the rider, close to the bike’s centre of gravity, so as not to upset balance. When a passenger is on board, it can be re-positioned behind the pillion seat in seconds.

Both options carry the Pack well clear of exhausts and the rear wheel and unlike panniers, there’s no extra width added to the bike.

When luggage isn’t required, the Pack and Rack can be removed in seconds, leaving only the L-brackets in place. There is also an option to replace the Rack with a Grab Handle.

Packs come in five sizes, from the handy 10-litre Evo-10 to the massive 60-litre Evo-60 Jet Stream.  Each Evo Pack is made using a water-resistant and durable laminated ballistic fabric, with wide openings and zip pulls that can be easily operated with a gloved hand.

A typical Ventura Evo System for the MT-07 – consisting of L-Brackets, Evo-Rack, Evo-22 Pack (pictured) – costs £375 including VAT and £347.68 for the MT-10. The optional Grab Handle is just £22.80 including VAT.

Blazing saddlebags

New for 2021, SW-Motech Pro Blaze Panniers offer riders of machines with limited luggage capability a versatile and cost-effective way to carry kit.

Pro Blaze Panniers improve on the already popular Blaze design, with new side walls made from dimensionally stable and laminated EVA, for increased rigidity and strength; updated anti-slip material for improved grip on the seat, and an all-new Molle attachment made of durable Hypalon material on the front for accessory bags.

Ideal for sport and street bikes with minimalist rear-ends – like KTM’s 1290 Super Duke, the Yamaha MT-09 and Ducati Streetfighter – Pro Blaze Panniers use a unique fitting system for serious carrying capacity and stability.

The attachment system uses a clever Quick-Lock rail, which is discreet, light and doesn’t clutter the machine, like hard luggage mounting systems. Simply clamp the Quick-Lock mounts to the bike’s rear footrest hangers, push in the rails, slide on the panniers and clip them in place.

The rails keep the load stable, secure and away from the wheel, chain and other moving parts, ensuring the panniers won’t shift, even during hard riding. They also eliminate the need for straps.

When the destination is reached, the panniers and rails can be removed in seconds, leaving only the clamps behind, and the machine completely uncluttered.

Each Blaze pannier bag is made from robust and UV-resistant Ballistic Nylon, with a wide top opening for easy access. They can be expanded for additional carrying capacity too.

A zippered outside pocket allows quick and easy access to essentials, while the solid carrying handle makes them easy to manage off the bike.

Two versions are available – Pro Blaze and Pro Blaze H, which are the ‘High’ version of the bags, designed specifically for bikes with a high exhaust.

A typical Pro Blaze system retails at just £317.96 – including two saddlebags, model-specific support arms, two waterproof inner bags, paint protection film, instruction manual and all the fitting materials.

GIVI TREKKER II 35

This is not merely an evolution of the veteran and popular Trekker, where round plastic cases and square aluminium cases meet. The “II” is an entirely new and parallel project that updates the range with interesting aspects, including an unexpected price and a truly attractive look.

One TREKKER has become two, both equipped with the Monokey system. The first has “travelled” around the world for some time. Now, the “II” is being introduced to the public at the Milan Show.

What unites them is the idea that brought the line to life—adding a high-tech touch to the plastic structure through the skilful use of aluminium sheets. The remaining features take them to two different levels.

The TREKKER II 35 (which indicates its internal capacity in litres) immediately stands out for its new and personal aesthetic. The lid, featuring a rounded and slightly curved shape, is completed by an aluminium cover that “hooks” on all 4 sides with plastic inserts, creating a bold and protective effect. A sort of “case shield”. GIVI strikes with even greater impact, giving you the ability to choose between a case with a Natural (TKR35N) or Black (TRK35B) aluminium insert, based on your motorcycle’s look.

The accessibility offered by the TREKKER II 35, that is the purchase price, is another important quality. The company has worked miracles with the price/performance relationship, never sacrificing the quality of the construction or the materials. For example, the standard lock is the sturdy “Security Lock”.

This case also has the advantage of being pluralist… in the sense that it can be mounted on the side or as a top case. Including it among the Monokey models makes it a feasible choice for any type of motorcyclist. In other words, it might “intrigue” the owner of a scooter seeking a particular top case, the owner of a naked bike looking for a couple of compact and curvy side cases, or even the motorcycle tourist in search of a trio of cases at a genuinely competitive price.

OTHER USEFUL INFORMATION
When used as a top case, the TREKKER II 35 is compatible with any Monokey plate. When fastened on the side, it holds the PL, PLO, PLR and PLOR side frames.
Max Load: 10 kg (excluding the weight of the case).
Size in cm: 53.8 x 43.4 x 24.8 (LxWxH). Optional: T484B soft inner bag. Single key for cases bought as a pair (with the bonus of a third cylinder for use on any top case).

GIVI Trekker ALASKA

It fits into the range of aluminium side cases and is the result of an ambitious project which led to the creation of an efficient, essential, light, practical Made in Italy product, equipped with patent pending mechanisms and with the most universal system in the world, MONOKEY.

The Trekker ALASKA has an internal capacity of 36 litres and is being introduced to the public with an aluminium structure available in a double finish: Natural and Black. All three materials used to make it are of the highest quality: mechanically finished natural aluminium for the body, stainless steel for the hinges and reinforced technopolymer for the profiles.

MANY STRONG POINTS THAT ARE CURRENTLY EXCLUSIVE TO THIS PRODUCT
The Trekker Alaska offers a patented design and is 100% made in Italy.

Unlike the brand’s other aluminium side cases in the line, this new side case attaches to MONOKEY frames.

This means, given the longevity of this type of attachment system, that the user can use it both on motorcycles that are no longer on the market as well as current models. For example, it could be moved from an Africa Twin to a BMW GS to a Ténéré … of every generation and probably future models too.

Each component is developed on the basis of making improvements to the cases:

The position of the release is prioritised and enabled here through a new cable system (patent pending).

The handle, which can also be used with gloves, is integrated into the lid hinge. We also find the 4 belt-strap loops built into the lid, set into the contoured lid to give an elegant shape to the whole case.

Loading is made easy because the lid opens completely, without straps or cables, and also because the mechanical hook system (patent pending) allows the suitcase to tilt without detaching completely from the support frame, which is very useful when used with a large-capacity rear top case.

EFFICIENCY AND STRENGTH
GIVI has maximised the efficiency of the side frames in terms of both mechanical strength and absorption of vibrations. As for strength and protection from dust, water and oil, the ALASKA project has provided the maximum reduction of punctures, has tested industrial seals and designed vents for variations in pressure.

For the extraordinary Trekker ALASKA, GIVI has designed a series of optional dedicated accessories, making it even more eclectic.
