Ducati Presents A New Color Scheme For The Ducati Xdiavel

Ducati is ready to reveal, at Intermot and EICMA, all the new models for 2019 and is previewing an all-new colour scheme for the XDiavel.

The latest colour to bedeck the Ducati cruiser will be Matt Liquid Concrete Grey, a grey that goes perfectly with the “total black” of the chassis and engine. The new dark brown seat completes the sophisticated yet sporty styling, sharpening the Ducati XDiavel’s already distinctive character.

The S version features a headlight with DRL (Daytime Running Light), DLC-coated fork tubes, Brembo M50 front brake calipers, dedicated machined rims and machine-finished engine belt covers. Moreover, it will continue to be available in Thrilling Black and Iceberg White, both with the red-trimmed stripe that makes the tank so eye-catching.

The XDiavel in its new colour scheme will be available in UK Ducati Stores starting from November onwards dependent on territory and the UK SRP will be £17195

Scrambler Joyvolution: lots more fun in the Land of Joy

The latest Ducati Scrambler makeover provides a bike that is now even more contemporary, comfortable and safe, taking ‘Land of Joy’ fun to new heights. Affordable and essential, the Ducati Scrambler is the perfect blend of tradition and innovativeness. Even in this latest ‘Joyvolution’ incarnation, it retains the pure essence of motorcycling: two wheels, a wide handlebar, a simple engine and endless fun. What’s more, the new Bosch Cornering ABS maximises active safety during braking, adding an extra layer of untroubled freedom.

The Ducati Scrambler brand, launched in 2014 to ‘speak a new motorcycling language’, puts a modern-day slant on the ethos of the 1960s Scrambler. It’s fair to say that it’s no mere motorcycle, it’s a veritable lifestyle. Free-spirited, go-getting and non-conformist, open to other cultures and styles, Ducati Scrambler has created a world – the ‘Land of Joy’ – where aficionados can share their experiences and ideals. A world in which the protagonists are not bikes or performance but people and their passions: music, cinema, art, photography, street food. A new approach that takes the motorcycling experience to the next level.

Ever since its launch, the Ducati Scrambler has set a whole new standard by offering a fresh take on motorcycling. In 2015 it became the world’s 10th best-selling bike over 500 cc, an absolute first for the Bologna-based bike manufacturer. Four years on from the brand launch, more than 55,000 Scrambler bikes have been sold worldwide.

The breadth of the brand is also evident in the four mono brand Scrambler Camp stores in Padua, Borgo Panigale, Barcelona and New York, and the two Scrambler Food factory restaurants opened in Bologna.

The first result of the Joyvolution is the new Scrambler Icon. The aluminium of the new, beefier side panels matches the steel of the teardrop tank and the glass of the headlight flawlessly. A black-painted engine, brushed cylinder head fins and machine-finished rims give the Ducati Scrambler eye-catching panache.

The all-new headlight with LED DRL (Daytime Running Light) boosts bike visibility in traffic, even in daylight, as do the new auto-off LED indicators. More ergonomic switchgears make it easier for the rider to scroll the LCD instrument menu, which now includes fuel level info.

On the Ducati Scrambler the high, wide handlebars, the new flat seat and renewed suspension set-up merge to ensure an outstandingly comfortable, relaxed riding position. Low weight, low centre of gravity and slightly chunky tyre treads ensure great handling and pure fun whatever the situation; thanks to the safety provided by Bosch Cornering ABS – all-new and exclusive for this category of vehicle – riding is now more carefree than ever. Riders will also appreciate the new softer-feel hydraulic clutch control, while the adjustable lever – like the one on the front brake – ensures the lever-handlebar gap can be adapted to individual needs.

Ducati Scrambler is a lifestyle brand. It draws its inspiration from multiple sources, including music, as a listen to Scrambler Web Radio (available 24/7 at scramblerducati.com) clearly shows. Thanks to the Ducati Multimedia System, riders of the new Scrambler can now listen to their favourite playlists, answer calls or chat with the passenger.

The Scrambler Icon is available in Atomic Tangerine with black frame and a black seat with grey trim or in classic ’62 Yellow with black frame and black seat with grey trim.

To see the official Scrambler Icon launch video check out the brand’s social network sites or go to the website and share the content with the hashtag #joyvolution and #scramblerducati.

The Joyvolution has just begun: as always, this coming Autumn in the Land of Joy promises to be full of surprises.

All thirteen Panigale V4 S bikes from the “Race of Champions” have been auctioned on eBay

The “Race of Champions”, which saw Ducati riders fight for victory on the Panigale V4 S, was one of the most thrilling moments of WDW2018. Immediately after the race the thirteen specially built bikes were auctioned on eBay, with ever increasing bids capturing the attention of media and enthusiasts alike until the auction closed at 6 p.m. on Saturday 28 July.

All thirteen Panigale V4 S bikes (the 12 used in the race plus the one prepared for Chaz Davies, injured on the eve of WDW and unable to compete) were auctioned.

The bikes feature exclusive livery and graphics dedicated to their individual riders, with colour schemes drawing their inspiration from the bikes used in MotoGP or SBK races. On each steering yoke, a badge shows the rider’s name and race number. Each rider’s indelible autograph on the tank, plus a  certificate of authenticity signed by Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati Motor Holding, and the rider himself, adding to the motorcycle’s value. To complete this exclusive bike, each bcomes with a series of special components used during the Race of Champions and a complete set of original parts, exhausts included, required for legal road use.

Right from the start of this closely contested auction there was huge interest in Troy Bayliss’ bike, which generated ever-higher bids that eventually reached the record-breaking figure of 120,000 euro. Dovizioso, Melandri, Lorenzo, Pirro (Race of Champions winner) and Petrucci’s bikes were also in great demand, going for between 40,000 and 62,400 euro, with the bikes ridden by Miller, Davies, Rabat, Forés, Abraham, Rinaldi, and Siméon following in their wake.

The auction generated a total of 7.084 bids from all over the world, with some 1.516 people battling it out to option the thirteen bikes. The uniqueness of the event also aroused huge interest on social media: official Ducati profiles saw more than 7 million views between Instagram and Facebook.

The fondness and esteem that Ducatisti still nurture for Troy Bayliss, a true Ducati icon, three-times winner of the World SBK Championship and recently (at the age of 49) winner of a SBK race in Australia on a Ducati Panigale, is impressive.

Record attendance at 10th edition of World Ducati Week

The 10th edition of World Ducati Week, the international gathering that brings the Ducati community together every two years, ended with a record turnout. WDW2018 engaged and excited tens of thousands of motorcyclists coming from all over the world, meeting at the Misano World Circuit “Marco Simoncelli” from 20 to 22 July to celebrate and share their enthusiasm for Ducati.

An incredible number of people and lots of motorcycles made this unique celebration even greater. In three days there were 91,596 attendees at the Misano World Circuit, exceeding the previous record of 81,000 attendees set in 2016 by 13%. The participants travelled to the Adriatic Riviera from five continents, representing 73 countries. While 60% of the riders were Italian, the remaining 40% are evidence of the power and appeal of the Ducati brand around the world. Of particular note were Ken Lu and Lv Fei, the two Chinese riders who rode their Multistrada 1200 Enduro from Xinjiang (China) to Bologna in only seven days. The journey across continents was an extraordinary undertaking which saw them travel 7,575 km through 10 countries to arrive at Misano Adriatico.

Many activities and opportunities make WDW2018 a unique event. Meetings and autograph sessions with Ducati riders, riding courses and test rides of new motorcycles, taxi drives on the track with high performance Lamborghini, Audi and Seat cars, technical courses at Ducati University, performances by stuntmen and laps on the track all take place. Many thematic areas, each with different activities and atmospheres, include the colourful “Land of Joy” of the Ducati Scrambler world, the Monster Village (celebrating the iconic bike’s 25th anniversary), an area dedicated to the Panigale and the Multistrada Experience featuring Carlin Dunne’s Multistrada 1260 Pikes Peak, winner of Pikes Peak 2018 race.
The exclusive “preview room,” prepared just for WDW2018 participants, also aroused great interest and long queues, giving visitors a preview of one of Ducati’s new motorcycles for 2019.

The event surface area was impressive, including a total of about 90,000 square metres inside the Misano World Circuit “Marco Simoncelli”, 75,000 in the paddock and more than 15,000 dedicated to the off-road area and Ducati Scrambler Flat Race & School and DRE Safety.

One of the most exciting moments of this edition of WDW took place at 1 pm on Saturday, 21 July when the “Race of Champions” started, preceded by a spectacular flyover of the Frecce Tricolori aerobatic team. The race featured 12 Ducati MotoGP and SBK Champions competing on the Misano circuit riding the Panigale V4 S, specially prepared with racing configuration and customised liveries. A show without equal that only Ducati could offer. A real race that was won by Michele Pirro, followed by Rabat, Forés, Miller, Melandri, Rinaldi, then Dovizioso, Siméon, Petrucci, Lorenzo, Abraham and Bayliss to complete the exceptional line-up of the “Race of Champions”.

Ducati also decided to give to fans all over the world the chance to buy the 13 Panigale V4 S bikes from the “Race Of Champions” (including the one prepared for Chaz Davies, unable to participate due to an accident during training, and therefore replaced by Xavier Siméon) through a public auction on eBay. A dream that becomes reality for the fans of the brand starting at 6 pm on Saturday afternoon, an incredible number of bids being made on the motorcycles before the auctions end on Saturday, 28 July at 6 pm.

Saturday night the music of Radio Deejay and the Street Clerks band provided an entertaining and engaging evening on the stage set up in Piazzale Roma in Riccione. Claudio Domenicali and the Ducati riders greeted all the Ducatisti, receiving in turn tributes of affection and esteem from the large audience. The stage was then left to Nina Zilli and her music, another gift for the participants of World Ducati Week and for the large audience in Riccione, all engaged in a weekend dedicated to “desmodromic sound”.All Ducati employees were actively involved in planning the event, and during the weekend of the WDW, which this year included more than 250 people from the company (managers, engineers, technicians and employees) as part of the organisational staff.

Ducati was able to count on the collaboration of the Municipality of Misano, as well as the Municipalities of Rimini, Cattolica and Riccione, not to mention the government of the Republic of San Marino, which organised and supported the evening events. Last, but certainly not least given its key role, the Marco Simoncelli Misano World Circuit which has hosted all editions of the WDW right from the start.

Ducati riders thrill World Ducati Week 2018 with the “Race of Champions”

The Misano paddock was completely filled with motorcycles and people from all over the world, all sharing a great passion for Ducati. A sea of motorcycles that peacefully invaded the Adriatic Riviera and occupied over 75,000 square metres of the circuit’s paddock. In short, this is what is happening at WDW2018, the great Ducati gathering that from 20 to 22 July brings together tens of thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts from all over the world.

The second day of the spectacular Ducati event was preceded by a “hot” opening Friday: at the end of the day, thousands hit the road to participate in the parade that first took a lap of the circuit and then formed a long and colourful convoy of motorcycles that made its way to Rimini, which welcomed the Ducatisti with music, food and entertainmentat the “rustida” and Scrambler Beach Party energised by DJ sets from Virgin Radio.

In the morning Claudio Domenicali, Ducati’s CEO, opened the second day of WDW2018 by meeting with numerous international journalists attending the event.
World Ducati Week is a big party“, declared Claudio Domenicali, Ducati CEO, “a celebration for all Ducatisti that every two years brings us all together to share the passion for this unique brand. Ducati has a great past, last WDW edition we celebrated our 90th anniversary, but also an extraordinary present with a fantastic range of products. Thanks to the most beautiful motorcycles in our history, we can continue to grow, sharing emotions and achievements with our fans. Emotions like the flyover of the Frecce Tricolore just before the start of the Race of Champions, or entering the circuit this morning. Something special, unique, powerful, which is the confirmation that I am part of a Community of women and men who work and share – along with tens of thousands of Ducatisti who have travelled to the Adriatic Riviera – the pride of belonging to this historical and prestigious brand. There are so many of us, yesterday 30% more than in 2016, and we expect this 10th edition to set a new record, – concluded the company’s top manager – “Seeing the paddock of the Misano World Circuit with so many people gives me goosebumps!“.

For the WDW2018 participants’ there are countless activities and initiatives scheduled: areas dedicated to the various motorcycle families, dynamic test rides, rides on the track, exhibitions, contests, stunt riding, music and lots of fun. The highlight of the saturday was at 1 pm when – after a spectacular flyover by the Frecce Tricolori aerobatic team – the “Race of Champions” started. The race saw 12 Ducati MotoGP and SBK Champions competing on the Misano circuit riding Panigale V4 S specially prepared with racing configurations and dedicated liveries. A true race, with the support of Locman as “Official Timekeeper”, with riders giving their all to win the podium, putting on a show without equal that only Ducati can offer. After the free practice sessions and qualifying rounds to establish the starting grid, the race saw Michele Pirro, who started at pole position, immediately taking the lead, setting a pace that allowed him to extend his advantage over the group of pursuers., A spectacular comeback by Rabat who had a bad start but ended up taking second place after a series of duels and beautiful overtakings with Melandri, Miller and Fores, who fired up the spectators at the Misano World Circuit and fans tuned in live on SKY with emotions worthy of a world competition. Miller, Melandri and Rinaldi followed in order, then Dovizioso, Siméon, Petrucci, Lorenzo, Abraham and Bayliss to complete the exceptional line-up of the “Race of Champions”. The rain – which fortunately stopped falling after a few minutes – forced the chequered flag at the sixth lap, two laps ahead of time, but didn’t detract from the great show and the victory of the Ducati MotoGP Team test rider.

At the end of the race the riders greeted the public, with spectacular burn-outs, seing on canvas all the Pirelli tyres of the Panigale V4 S dedicated to each rider. Another gift for fans all over the world: starting from the end of the race, the 12 Panigale V4 S from the “Race of Champions”, plus the thirteenth of Chaz Davies who has not competed due to injury, can be purchased through a public auction on eBay. A dream that becomes reality for the fans, who have the chance to win them until the close of bidding scheduled for Saturday, 28 July at 6 pm (CEST).

Claudio Domenicali handed out awards to the three winners on the podium, giving them a sculpture replicating the crankshaft of the Panigale V4. and then invited the audience to Piazzale Roma in Riccione, where riders and management on stage, presented by radio and TV personality Linus and music and entertainment from Radio Deejay, offer their greetings to all the Ducatisti, followed by a live concert by the singer-songwriter Nina Zilli.

WDW2018: the great Ducati festival has begun in Misano

WDW2018 hits the ground running with all the elements necessary to celebrate its 10th anniversary with flair, exceeding all records and expectations. The big festival that every two years attracts Ducatisti  and motorcyclists from all over the world is in full swing at the Marco Simoncelli Misano World Circuit, running from Friday, 20 July to Sunday, 22 July.

It all started Thursday evening at the harbour in Cattolica, as the Adriatic Riviera began to experience the peaceful invasion of the Ducatisti, which also calls for an off-circuit event in the evening. Friday night a parade of thousands of motorcycles will depart from the circuit and travel to the pier of Rimini for a “rustida” and the Scrambler Beach Party energised by a DJ set from Ringo and Virgin Radio.

They arrived on their motorcycles and every other means of transport to reach the Misano circuit on time to be present from the very first day of this incredible event. Visitors started queueing outside the circuit in the early hours of the morning, waiting for the gates to open at 8 am. The first to enter were three Ducatisti who rode from Greece on their Multistrada motorbikes, rewarded for their enthusiasm and for officially opening WDW2018.

The public of WDW2018 is a mix of people coming from all over the world. According to pre-sales data, 60% of the participants are Italian, but the remaining 40% confirm the power and appeal of the Ducati brand all over the world. The Ducatisti come from the USA, Europe, Japan, Australia, Russia, India, but also from Brazil, New Zealand, China and the Philippines.

Also at WDW2018 are Ken Lu and Lv Fei, the two riders from China, who rode their Multistrada 1200 Enduros from Xinjiang to Bologna in only seven days. Ken and Fei accomplished an extraordinary feat, covering over 7,575 km across 10 countries in order to reach the gathering like the true Ducatisti they are.

A fundamental component of the Ducatista universe are the 147 Desmo Owners Clubs (out of a total 270 official associations present throughout the world) that have come to WDW2018. A record number of participants, coming from 33 countries for a total of 4,375 DOC members. 280 of them – representing all the DOCs present – were received in the beautiful and unique setting of San Marino, where the World President Meeting was held, attended also by Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati Motor Holding but also a true, passionate Ducatista. At the end of the evening, a beautiful dinner was organised in Piazza della Libertà, which offers one of the most beautiful views of the historic, charming village, together with government authorities of San Marino.

WDW2018 is also bursting with competitions and challenges on the track among Ducati riders. The first of the two racing events included in the programme for this 10th edition, the Scrambler Flat Track Race, which took place on Friday afternoon at the Misano circuit Arena. A hard-fought race full of twists, spectacular slides, duels and pursuits that saw the victory of Andrea Dovizioso, who has repeated the performance of WDW 2016, confirming that he is unbeatable in that race. Eight champions who entertained the crowd riding their Scrambler Flat Track Pros, starting with the knockout rounds which saw Dovizioso reaching the final race, where he competed against Xavier Simeon and Danilo Petrucci.

A long queue of visitors lined up at the entrance of the “closed room” throughout the day, where Ducati offered an exclusive preview to WDW2018 participants of one of the new Ducati 2019 motorcycles (no pictures or videos allowed!). The general public will have to wait for EICMA2018 in Milan on 6-11 November to see the new bike and get information and details on one of next year’s most anxiously awaited new developments.

In the “Land of Joy” of the Scrambler Village the view of WDW2018 from above offers an exciting show. Thanks to the hot air balloon anchored to the ground with safety ropes, visitors can float about 100 metres above the colourful and crowded paddock, getting an absolutely unique and original perspective. Just as breathtaking is the experience in the Scrambler Silodrome, the cylindrical wooden structure inside which daring stuntmen riding two Scramblers defy the most basic laws of gravity performing motorcycle acrobatics along the vertical wall of the Colosseum.

At the SuperSport stand visitors can see a special livery take shape, colour after colour, detail after detail until its completion, actively participating in its creation by helping professionals with the decals, stripes, cutters and spatulas under the direct guidance of Ducati Design Centre technicians. Also in this area, personalised decals with nickname, race number and official WDW2018 logo are produced on the spot, to be applied to your bike to make it even more unique and special.

Ducati is working with industry leaders in developing direct communication interoperability

Ducati is working with industry leaders in developing direct communication interoperability between motorcycles, vehicles, and infrastructure Ducati

Ducati continues to invest in safety and, together with Audi, participates in the first demonstration in Europe of a new vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communication system between motorbikes and cars. As announced in April, the Bolognese company has outlined a strategic line, called “Safety Road Map 2025”, for the development of new safety systems and technologies. The first steps in this strategy are the extension of the ABS Cornering to the entire range and the introduction of a bike with front and rear radar on the market in 2020. In addition, the Borgo Panigale company is experimenting, together with various industry leaders, some new technologies that will equip its bikes in the medium and long term.

One of these technologies is called C-V2X and it is a wireless communication system between road users such as cars, motorcycles, pedestrians, and bicycles and infrastructure. C-V2X technology is a key step toward 5G for automotive applications with direct communication between vehicles and their surroundings.

The demonstration featured Audi Q7 and Audi A4 road vehicles, as well as a Ducati Multistrada 1200 Enduro two-wheel vehicle equipped with C-V2X technology utilizing the Qualcomm® 9150 C-V2X chipset solution. The showcase demonstrated common situations that can take place between motorcycles and vehicles, and how C-V2X technology can be used to help improve road safety. These include Intersection Collision Warning, where a vehicle equipped with C-V2X technology pulls out from a junction with an adjoining road and avoids hitting a motorcycle rider who has the right of way, as well as Across Traffic Turn Collision Risk Warning, in which a vehicle avoids a left turn collision with a motorcycle. Finally a warning of sudden braking of the leading two-wheel vehicle.

“This is the perfect demonstration of use cases in which the modern technologies can drastically improve the safety of future motorcycle users,” said Pierluigi Zampieri, Vehicle Innovation Manager at Ducati Motor Holding spa. “Indeed, the C-V2X communication is definitely one of the key projects of the Ducati 2025 safety road map”.

This demonstration was the first of the ConVeX (Connected Vehicle to Everything) project involving AudiDucatiEricsson (NASDAQ: ERIC)SWARCO, the Technical University of Kaiserslautern, and Qualcomm CDMA Technologies GmbH.

Qualcomm 9150 C-V2X chipset is product of Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. and/or its subsidiaries.

First stone of “Ducati World” laid at Mirabilandia

The partnership between Ducati and Mirabilandia announced last November now takes shape with the official laying of the first stone inside the famous Italian amusement park located in Ravenna, in the Emilia-Romagna region.

“Ducati World” will occupy some 35,000 m2 inside Mirabilandia, making it the first themed area in the world to be inspired by a motorcycle brand.

In addition to the management of Mirabiliandia, the opening of the building site was attended by Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati, and MotoGP and SBK flag bearers Andrea Dovizioso and Marco Melandri. The two champions, both hailing from the area, witnessed the start of the work and can’t wait to try out the new Ducati World attractions for themselves.

The Ducati World attractions will include a racing-inspired interactive roller coaster, which simulates a ride on a Panigale V4. This stunning attraction transforms passengers into real riders. It lets them control vehicle acceleration and braking, making every run an authentic head-to-head between bikes roaring along parallel rails. The area will also host a facility entirely dedicated to the Ducati Experience, with latest-generation ride simulators, unprecedented family attractions and a Ducati Shop offering apparel and accessories. There will also be three Ducati and Ducati Scrambler-themed refreshment areas.

“Thanks to the partnership with Mirabilandia, Italy’s biggest amusement park, Ducati World will be able to provide a truly thrilling experience, with interactive motorcycling-themed attractions for adults and children alike”, stated Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati. “Our company has always been about passion and engagement and aims to offer Ducati enthusiasts a system that goes far beyond the experience of riding the motorcycle. Ducati World, then, fits this vision perfectly. It also tightens our bond with this incredible territory, which has forged champions and fostered an unrivalled passion for speed”.

The addition of the dedicated Ducati World area extends the appeal of the amusement park and offers something for every age.

“Mirabilandia is aiming high for 2019”, says Riccardo Marcante, General Manager of Mirabilandia. “The decision to join forces with a brand as beloved as Ducati, as renowned worldwide as it is locally, will, we believe, attract more foreigners to Mirabilandia and appeal to motorcycle and motor racing fans. Mirabilandia already offers plenty of thrills, and with Ducati we look forward to providing many more”.

This partnership, then, is set to generate massive interest in what is Ducati and Mirabilandia’s homeland.

“The Ducati World project”, states Andrea Corsini, Tourism and Business councillor for the Region of Emilia-Romagna “represents a huge local development opportunity and will be a strong magnet for visitors. Motor Valley and Ducati have joined forces with one of the biggest attractions on the Adriatic coast, Mirabilandia, one of Italy’s best-known amusement parks, to boost image, appeal and products. All this is in keeping with a new regional strategy – which, last year, attracted 57 million visitors – that focuses on key Emilia-Romagna attractions such as the Motor, Food and Wellness Valleys, all hubs of local excellence. Thanks to local entrepreneurship and the support of public bodies, this partnership”, sums up Corsini, “will give tourists and citizens yet another reason to experience a region that is truly unique”.

Ducati presents the Monster 1200 25° Anniversario

The Monster was first presented at the Cologne trade fair in 1992, production began on 5 March 1993 and in just a few years the bike reached icon status in the world of motorcycles. The model was responsible for launching the category of Naked sports bikes and an ever growing and ever more devoted community of riders grew up around it: the Monster fans. To celebrate 25 years of history of the most iconic of the Bologna-based manufacturer’s motorcycles – over 325,000 of them have been made since 1993 – Ducati has decided to create the Monster 1200 25° Anniversario.

Only 500 numbered motorcycles will be produced of the Monster 1200 25° Anniversario , which for Ducati embodies the maximum expression of a Naked sports bike. It is characterised by an exclusive livery featuring the three colours of the Italian flag on the nose fairing, fuel tank and passenger seat cover, inspired by the 2008 Monster S4RS Testastretta Tricolore. The special colour scheme partners perfectly with the prestige seat which is embroidered with the 25th anniversary logo. The gold coloured frame and forged Marchesini wheels with W spokes in the same colour are another distinguishing feature of this Monster, which also has numerous other prestigious details machined from solid, such as the mirrors, frame plugs, handlebar end weights and the petrol cap, which is a standard fitting. The articulated brake and clutch levers as well as the plate holder are also in aluminium, while the front and rear mudguards, the keyhole cover and the exhaust heat guard are in carbon fibre. The Monster 1200 25° Anniversario  also comes with a bike cover, decorated with the particular logo of this special limited edition.

As for the chassis set up, the Monster 1200 25° Anniversario boasts the best anyone could wish for on a Naked sports bike. The tubular steel trellis frame and single-sided swing arm in aluminium are paired with a fully adjustable Öhlins fork with 48 mm diameter stanchions, an Öhlins rear suspension which is also fully adjustable, as well as a steering damper also supplied by the Swedish firm. The first-class braking system is made up of two 330 mm diameter Brembo discs paired with Brembo M50 monobloc callipers. The rear 245 mm diameter disk is matched with a Brembo caliper.

The Monster 1200 25° Anniversario  is equipped with the latest evolution of the Testastretta 11° DS which guarantees high levels of power and torque as well as fluid and full delivery even at low revs and a manageable accelerator response that’s always gradual, ensuring maximum riding fun.

The twin-cylinder Monster 1200 25° Anniversario puts out 147 hp at 9,250 rpm and a maximum torque of 124 Nm at 7,750 rpm.

Thanks to the constant attention paid by Ducati to quality and reliability, the Testastretta 11° DS engine of the Monster 1200 25° Anniversario guarantees long maintenance intervals – the regulation of the valves, for example, is due every 30,000 km.

The impressive electronic package features three different Riding Modes (Sport, Touring and Urban), as well as an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) which supplies information to the ABS Bosch Cornering and Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) systems. Thanks to these high level electronic systems, which also include Ducati Traction Control (DTC) and Ducati Quick Shift Up and Down (DQS) for swift gear changes without using the clutch, the Monster 1200 25° Anniversario guarantees authentic Ducati performance that is manageable and suitable for all riders, as usual also providing a high level of active safety control.

The colour TFT instrument panel provides all the necessary information and allows the rider to regulate the Riding Mode settings through a pleasant and user-friendly interface.
In addition, the headlight is equipped with a DRL (Daytime Running Light) system, which ensures perfect daytime visibility and allows for the motorcycle to be seen immediately.

The Monster 1200 25° Anniversario will be available in the UK towards the end of the year and has an SRP £17,390 OTR.

Exclusive characteristics of the Monster 1200 25° Anniversario:

  • 25° Anniversario Italian flag livery with gold coloured frame and wheel rims
  • Premium seat with embroidered “25°” logo
  • Limited edition serial number (xxx/500) on the frame
  • Forged Marchesini wheels with W spokes

The Ducati Scrambler Land of Joy comes to WDW2018

The Ducati Scrambler Land of Joy and its many fun initiatives is a must for the busy programme of events confirmed for WDW2018 to take place from 20 to 22 July at the “Marco Simoncelli” Misano World Circuit.

During the first day, Friday 20 July, the opening event of WDW will be the Flat Track Race featuring the Ducati race-track riders. Andrea Dovizioso, who won the 2016 edition, Troy Bayliss, Danilo Petrucci, Jack Miller and Michele Pirro are among the riders who will take part in the race with a racetrack-configured Ducati Scrambler Flat Track Pro. The challenge will take place on the kilometre-long track of the Misano Arena where the riders will give thrilling displays of drifting in what promises to be a fun and entertaining event.

During the three days of the rally the Scrambler Village will be brought to life by all sorts of different activities, including plenty of musical events. Live music and live episodes of Scrambler Radio will take turns on the Scrambler stage, so that even those who haven’t made it to the event can follow in real time. Once again the yellow Scrambler School Bus will feature at the Village and, for the occasion, a photographic studio will be set up inside to take images of all the Scrambler riders present. The photos taken will contribute to the first Ducati Scrambler book planned to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the brand.

An area of the Land of Joy will be dedicated exclusively to the new Ducati Scrambler 1100 which, together with all the other models of the range will be available to visitors for test rides. Other fun initiatives include the opportunity to ride at the Ducati Scrambler Flat Track School for a memorable experience learning to dirt track drifting in total safety with a Ducati Scrambler Sixty2, that has been modified specially for the occasion.

As at the previous edition, WDW2018 will host the official prize-giving of the “Custom Rumble” contest, dedicated to the best special versions of Ducati Scramblers. The four Custom finalists in the Best Dealer, Best Private Customizer, Best Customer and Best Rookie categories will be on display and a jury of experts will declare the winning Ducati Scrambler in the on-stage prize-giving ceremony.

The Scrambler Silodrome will be another fun focus point – a wooden cylindrical structure within which three daring stuntmen will each ride a Ducati Scrambler along the vertical wall of the Colosseum, displaying extraordinary acrobatic motorcycle moves at various times throughout each day of the rally.
Another unmissable feature of the Land of Joy is the area dedicated to street food, fundamental aspect of the brand’s philosophy. Drinks and gourmet sandwiches will be served from food trucks to delight the palates of participants.

Last but not least among the Ducati Scrambler attractions at the 2018 World Ducati Week is a hot-air balloon which, safely fixed to the ground with special ropes, will rise about a hundred metres into the air, giving passengers the opportunity for a unique viewpoint on WDW from above.

For further information on activities and the programme of events see the dedicated website or the social media channels of the Ducati Scrambler brand.

The Panigale V4 has been loaned to BikeSafe as part of Ducati UK’s commitment to the BikeSafe Project. Assistant Chief Constable Nick Adderley and members of the BikeSafe team took the opportunity to take the track alongside Ducati devotees and put the Panigale V4 through its paces.

BikeSafe is a police led motorcycle project that is run by most forces throughout the UK. The main aim is to reduce the number of bikers being hurt on the roads. The focus of BikeSafe is that riding should be fun, and by improving skills, knowledge and hazard awareness it will hopefully make riding safer and more enjoyable.  Their workshop explores the main riding hazards that biker faces. By delivering theory presentations and observed rides, a BikeSafe workshop help riders discover their strengths and weakness and develop their riding.

Tim Maccabee – Managing Director of Ducati UK

New Ducati Link App: bikes become social

It’s called the Ducati Link App, and it’s the new Smartphone application developed by the Bologna-based motorbike manufacturer in partnership with e-Novia, the “Enterprises Factory” from Milan that sets up and develops hi-tech companies.

Ducati Link was created with three fundamental pleasures of biking in mind.
The relationship that each biker has with his machine: using Bluetooth technology, the application connects to the bike and, while riding, records information supplied by the on-board control unit such as speed, lean angle, power delivery and acceleration. Then, at the end of the ride, the rider can check aspects of his performance, analysing the evolution of the data over the course of the journey.
The journey and the discovery of new roads:  using the smartphone’s GPS, the Ducati Link App records the route travelled and, by allowing you to integrate photos and comments, enables the rider to relive the highlights of his experience.
The pleasure of sharing: as part of a real community, you can use the app to share details of itineraries, images and suggestions for other bikers.

The Ducati Link App’s connection with the motorcycle lets you set the travel mode (a combination of load and Riding Mode) and customise the parameters of each Riding Mode (ABS, Ducati Traction Control, etc.) directly from your smartphone in an easy, intuitive process.
Furthermore, the App makes available a host of information including when the next service is due, an e-version of the owner’s manual and the Ducati Store locator.

“The launch of the Ducati Link App is another step forward in the Company’s digital transformation process”, comments Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati.  “The application has been designed to be a tool enabling constant dialogue between bike and rider. Thanks to the connection between bike and smartphone, the rider will be able to enjoy an increasingly engaging driving experience, transforming each trip into a memory to be shared and relived at any moment. We are particularly happy to have been able to develop this technology with a partner like e-Novia, an impressive, dynamic Italian company, in further confirmation of the ingenuity and technical skills that characterise and distinguish our country.”

“The collaboration between our ‘Enterprises Factory’ and Ducati, a renowned Italian brand, has led to the creation of a highly innovative and pioneering product in the field of smart mobility, able to improve the driving experience and to enhance the performance of a great Italian industrial product”, says Vincenzo Russi, CEO of e-Novia.  “We are proud to have worked together with a company such as Ducati, contributing with our know-how in the fields of electronics and artificial intelligence to the digitalization process of a world’s leading motorcycle manufacturer.”

The Ducati Link App is available for all motorcyclists: the recording and sharing of itineraries are not dependent on the connection to the bike. The functionality for exchanging data between motorcycle and smartphone, instead, can only be used by those who have the pleasure of riding a Multistrada 1260, in all its versions. Ducati Link will be continuously updated with new functionality being added and connectivity being extended to other Ducati models.

To explore the potential of the new app simply download it from the iOS or Android store and register with a new profile or, if you are already registered on the Ducati site, log in using your existing credentials.

For further information about Ducati Link App please see the dedicated section of the official Ducati website.

Ducati springs forward to 2019, with the presentation of the new and stylish colour scheme for the SuperSport which will be available with a matt Titanium Grey fairing paired with red wheel rims and frame.

The new colour scheme, which combines a sporty style with an elegant look, is a reinterpretation of the colours that characterised some of Ducati’s most iconic sports models in the past. The SuperSport says goodbye to the traditional Ducati Red and debuts with the new Titanium Grey with a matt finish which is made yet more attractive and unique by the red of the frame and wheel rims. The rear seat cover will also be available in the same colour combination, as will the plastic inserts decorating the side panniers, both items featuring among the wide range of Ducati Performance accessories.

The SuperSport S, fitted with Öhlins suspension, Ducati Quick Shift up/down and rear seat cover, will continue to be available in Ducati Red as well as in the much-loved combination of Star White Silk, with red wheel rims and frame.

Second Ducati Scrambler Food Factory opens in Bologna

A second Ducati Scrambler Food Factory, the ‘Land of Joy’ food experience, has opened in Bologna. This latest food factory, located in the heart of the city centre, in via d’Azeglio 34, overlooks the suggestive Corte Galluzzi and the interior of the same-named tower that dates back to the late 13th century.

Conceived to convey and share a love of flavoursome, refined eating, the new Ducati Scrambler Food Factory is characterised by vintage design yet modern taste, much like the Ducati Scrambler itself: a unique experience that begins with food and goes on to encompass art, music, customisation, events, meetings and much more.

On the evening of Thursday 24 May the Ducati Scrambler Food Factory officially opened its doors with an inaugural ribbon-cutting event attended by Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati Motor Holding, and Andrea Dovizioso, flag bearer of the MotoGP Ducati Team.
Scrambler Ducati Food Factory enjoys a prime location in the heart of Bologna, a pedestrianised area close to Piazza Maggiore that has always been the hub of the city’s business, social, and political life.

Like the first Ducati Scrambler concept restaurant opened at the end of 2016 in via Stalingrado, this project was completed together with Sviluppi Urbani, a Bologna-based company specialising in food and beverage retail development.

The Ducati Scrambler Food Factory in via d’Azeglio is more than just a restaurant. It’s also a perfect get-together venue, open every day from early morning until evening, ready to welcome customers for breakfast, an aperitif, brunch, dinner or an evening drink.

The Scrambler ‘freedom philosophy’ is also evident in the restaurant format, which can be modified as required. This is a place that combines USA spirit with the best culinary traditions of Emilia-Romagna: beef hamburgers, pork ribs cooked at low temperature and pulled pork with barbecue sauce, yet also freshly made pasta and platters of local cheese and salami. Needless to say, pizza (served in the classic round or long-base sharing format), prepared with fresh high quality ingredients, is on the menu, as is a fine selection of craft beers.

The entire menu is prepared using equipment built by Zanussi Professional, a pioneering professional kitchen brand and a symbol of Made in Italy excellence for over 100 years.

Highlighting the Scrambler brand’s long-standing attention to the world of Food, this project merges smoothly with the “Taste of Joy” app (for both Android and iOS). Aimed at bike-loving foodies, this provides detailed information on both Ducati Scrambler concept restaurants.

For further information check out the food factory website or the Ducati Scrambler brand social media channels.

Celebrations for Monster’s 25th anniversary at WDW2018

The final touches are being made to the WDW2018 programme, which on 20-22 July will see thousands of motorcyclists arriving from all over the world at the Marco Simoncelli Misano World Circuit to celebrate and share their passion for Ducati.

This 10th edition of the rally will be a further opportunity to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Monster, the naked sportbike par excellence. One of the initiatives that WDW2018 will dedicate to this iconic model is the “Ducati Garage Contest”, the competition that since 2002 has been rewarding the most beautiful customised Ducati motorcycles created by fans around the world, ready to be admired in the prestigious showcase that only the WDW paddock can offer. This year the “Ducati Garage Contest” is reserved exclusively for “Monsteristi”. The custom Monsters will be judged during the event by a jury consisting of technicians, riders and visitors. More information and the rules for participating in the contest are available in a dedicated section of the website.

A “Monster Village” will be staged inside the Misano Circuit, an exclusive space where it will be possible to retrace the history of Monster through the key models that have made the bike a true icon, starting from the Monster 900 in 1993, currently on display in the Ducati Museum in Borgo Panigale.

In addition, a photo studio will be created for the Monsteristi, complete with an official Ducati photographer who will document the presence of the many fans of this iconic bike. The photos will then be used for the communications campaign dedicated to the celebration of this anniversary, marked by the hashtag #welovemonster and launched officially at the rally held at the end of March in Le Castellet, France.

Like every year, an international ambience and a strong sense of belonging to the community is ensured by the 266 DOCs (Desmo Owners Clubs), already busy preparing for an active participation in the event. Boasting more than 35,913 members in 59 countries around the world, the DOCs are a fundamental component of the Ducati universe, enthusiastically enlivening the bi-annual gathering. For this 10th edition, the community is ready to celebrate with all the participants in the area dedicated to the International Village, strategically located in the middle of the paddock, the true beating heart of desmodromic passion.

For more information and to stay up to date with all the news in real time, both before and during the event, the new official app of World Ducati Week 2018 is available for free download. Ducati Scrambler exhibits at Bike Shed London 2018

Bike Shed London 2018 welcomes Ducati Scrambler with a collection of customised bikes and 2018 models.

The most anticipated of these models will be a Café racer inspired customised Scrambler 1100 by deBolex Engineering on display at the Bike Shed for first time. The Scrambler 1100 features a fabricated fairing, tail and seat. There is also new top yoke, a relocated speedo and clip-ons to give this Scrambler 1100 a Café racer style with deBolex’s added twist.

Alongside the 1100 will be an 803cc Ducati Scrambler converted by deBolex into a TT style racer. This has involved full aluminium body work including the fuel tank and fairing. The rims, spokes and tyres have been changed along with suspension. The rest of the bike has been stripped back for a clean race look.

Another Café Racer influenced Scrambler on display is the Holographic Hammer’s Ducati Scrambler, designed by Sylvain Berneron in collaboration with Ducati France and magazine Moto Heroes. The design flaunts an array of performance enhancing components which include 43mm USD Showa forks, 17-inch carbon racing wheels, a Beringer 4D brake system and a Werkes USA exhausts.

Debuting at Bike Shed will be a Scrambler Icon which has been customised by Survivor customs into a Flat Track Scrambler currently contesting the Hooligan Flat Track National series. The bike will be suitably dirty arriving at the show directly from the latest round at the MCN festival.

For those that wish to see their Scrambler models in their original form their will be a selection of models from the 2018 range including a Desert Sled and Scrambler 1100.

First temporary exhibition hosted by the Ducati Museum gets under way

The Ducati Museum, renewed in 2016 to mark the company’s 90th anniversary, will be hosting its first temporary exhibition until 15 September 2018.

“The Desmo Twins of young Hailwood®” is only the first of many themed exhibitions that the Ducati Museum will organize within its showrooms.

The exhibition brings together three race bikes built between 1958 and 1960 by the unforgettable Fabio Taglioni. In part, these represent the early career of one of the world’s most famous riders: Mike Hailwood®.

The Desmo Twin 125, 250 and 350 cc represent a period of fervid creativity by the Romagna-born engineer. Built at the specific request of Mike’s father, they would go on to give the popular rider his first victories. Now, almost sixty years later, these ultra-rare bikes have finally been reunited in an exhibition that is an integral part of the 40th anniversary celebrations of “Mike the Bike’s” win at the 1978 Tourist Trophy.

For further information on the exhibition and how to visit the factory and the Ducati Museum please go to the website.
