Production of the new Ducati Scrambler begins

Production of the new Ducati Scrambler, already featured in the seventh episode of the Ducati World Première 2023, has begun in the Borgo Panigale plant. A new Ducati Scrambler completely renovated in style and concepts, that maintains the spirit and the original energy that have made this family a worldwide success for over 100,000 enthusiasts. An unmistakable, dynamic, accessible and safe motorcycle for everyday use, with a new captivating and modern design, dedicated to those seeking freedom and wishing to express their lifestyle through their choices.

The production of the first unit was celebrated in the new Finitura e Delibera Estetica building  with an event in perfect Ducati Scrambler style. After the traditional “christening” by CEO Claudio Domenicali, the ceremony was in fact transformed into a party animated by music in which all the employees were able to admire all nine colours of the new Ducati Scrambler as a preview.

The customization possibilities, which have always been a distinctive element of the Ducati Scrambler, go even further with this second generation thanks to the new Icon tank. The coloured portion is a cover that can be easily replaced, as can the mudguards, rim tags and headlamp covers. Thus the look of the Ducati Scrambler can adapt to all tastes with great ease. The three basic colours (’62 Yellow, Thrilling Black and Ducati Red) are joined by another six (Storm Green, Rio Celeste, Tangerine Orange, Jade Green, Sparkling Blue, Velvet Red), available as an accessory kit, to dress up the new Ducati Scrambler Icon in nine different liveries.

Thanks to a weight reduction of 4 kg, the new Ride-by-Wire and the Quick Shift accessory, the Ducati Scrambler offers a more brilliant ride. And it is also safer, more modern, digital and technological thanks to Riding Modes, Ducati Traction Control and the new colour TFT dashboard. All this without betraying that simplicity and authenticity that have always represented essential values for all Ducati Scrambler enthusiasts. Air-cooled Desmodue twin-cylinder engine, trellis frame, wide handlebars, low centre of gravity and fun to ride remain essential features also for the new generation of Ducati Scrambler.

The result of this recipe is three new Ducati Scramblers: Icon, Full Throttle and Nightshift. Three bikes with a different imprint, united by a relaxed riding position and low weight, to offer enthusiasts of all experience and abilities great riding pleasure, both in urban journeys and on trips out of town.

Diavel V4: more grunt and style thanks to Ducati Performance accessories

The Diavel V4, star of the sixth episode of the Ducati World Première 2023, shows itself dressed in the Style, Sport and Touring packages.

Three proposals designed to enhance the different souls of the Ducati muscle cruiser.

With its refined style and muscular and elegant lines, the new Ducati Diavel V4 is in fact the perfect synthesis between a maxi sport naked and a muscle cruiser, as powerful in its design as it is effective and comfortable to ride, capable of winning over riders with its agilitỳ and manoeuvrability, but also for its marked aptitude for medium range touring thanks to its great comfort for rider and passenger.

The Sport package includes a selection of accessories designed to enhance the powerful and muscular character of the Diavel V4. The billet aluminium tank cap retains its original appearance over time thanks to high-quality anodising and is equipped with an anti-tampering system with a key bearing the Ducati shield to guarantee the perfect combination of security, functionality and style.

The carbon fibre of the front mudguard and tank cover, together with the street-legal exhaust cover that completes the equipment, are details that enhance the contemporary elegance of this muscle cruiser. The Diavel V4 is then further enhanced by the Style package, consisting of carbon fibre rear mudguard and a series of Ducati by Rizoma accessories such as levers, mirrors, brake and clutch fluid reservoir covers and oil filler cap in billet aluminium.

Finally, the gritty red- or black-coloured front brake calipers are of great impact. Created in collaboration with Brembo, they retain the braking characteristics of the standard ones but are finished with a special paint that is resistant to high temperatures. Character, quality and care for design come together in the ideal accessory to make the bike even more iconic.

The Touring package, on the other hand, is dedicated to Ducatisti who want to savour the taste of the journey in the saddle of the Diavel V4. A set of heated grips, pair of semi-rigid side bags and rear passenger backrest maximise comfort, leaving rider and passenger free to enjoy every curve and every sight throughout the journey. In particular, the side cases mount on integrated attachments, preserving the aesthetics and stylistic cleanliness of the Diavel, and can become waterproof by applying the appropriate cover.

The forged aluminium wheels, characterised by an ultra-modern design and an elegant and refined finish, enhance both the aesthetics and the dynamics of the Diavel V4. The forging process gives lightness and agility to sculptural and muscular forms. The dimensions correspond to the standard ones, i.e. 3.50 “x17” and 8.00 “x17”.

The entire range of accessories is available on Ducati.com, where through the “Configurator” section it will be possible for all Ducatisti to choose their favourite accessories to make their Diavel V4 unique and share them with their nearest dealer.

Turn by Turn navigation system arrives on the DesertX

Exploration, fun and performance. And a great desire to pick up and go. The identity of the DesertX leaves no doubt: it is the first modern Ducati with a 21″ front wheel and has been designed to tackle even the most demanding off-road conditions. Presented in Matt Star Silk colouring, to which the new “RR22” livery has been added, the 2023 model is the first in the Ducati range to introduce the new Turn by Turn navigation system.

The integrated navigator is based on the Ducati Multimedia System, which uses the bike’s TFT cluster instrumentation to display the route guidance calculated by the Ducati Link App. In this way, navigation functions can be exploited without the need for an external device.

It is an official Ducati Performance accessory and can be purchased at Ducati Stores together with the bike or even at a later date, allowing it to be used even by those who already own a DesertX.

The system relies on the Bluetooth connection between the smartphone (iOS or Android) bike and the earphones on the rider’s and passenger’s helmets through the Ducati Multimedia System (accessory to be purchased separately), which shows notifications on the instrument panel regarding phone calls, messages/emails received and listening to music on the smartphone.

To use the Turn by Turn navigation system, the latest version of the Ducati Link App and the user license activation are required. After that, all you have to do is enter one or more destinations for the app to calculate the route according to your preferences (fastest, most efficient, exclusion of toll roads, etc.) and you can start navigating.

The phone can then be placed in your pocket, in a tank bag or on the Ducati Performance mount, without the need to keep the display on. Navigation is carried out with the support of maps, which can be downloaded in advance to reduce data traffic consumption or to get into difficulties in areas with poor signal coverage. By keeping the phone online, however, it is possible to take advantage of real-time traffic indications.

Navigation directions are displayed on the screen, leaving space for riding-relevant information so that safety is not compromised. Also in the interests of safety, the system displays the next turn along with the indication of the approaching turn, so that the driver can prepare well in advance for the manoeuvres to be carried out later. It is also possible to display the speed limits of the stretch being travelled thanks to the data on the maps.

The system makes it possible to choose which indications to receive (visual or visual and auditory, if a connection to the rider’s headset is active) and to record the route together with all data on speed, lean angle and photos taken during the trip, so that the experience can be relived or shared with friends. The system, whose functionality will be constantly evolved in future versions, will also be adoptable on the Diavel V4. Map coverage is already extensive, and will be progressively increased in the coming months with the addition of China, South Korea and Japan.

For more information on how to activate and use the system, see the dedicated video tutorial on Ducati.com.

Multistrada V4 Rally: production of the grand tourer gets underway

Multistrada V4 Rally: production of the grand tourer Ducati gets underway.

Production of the Multistrada V4 Rally, the Ducati designed for lovers of long journeys, already featured in the third episode of the 2023 Ducati World Premiere, has begun at the Borgo Panigale factory. The new bike completes a touring range that has never been so extensive and which was born exactly 20 years ago with the first Multistrada 1000 that marked the opening of Ducati towards the world of travel.

Twenty years during which Multistrada has been able to evolve and renew itself through the 1100, 1200 and 1260, arriving at its fourth generation powered by the new, revolutionary V4 Granturismo. The Multistrada V4 interprets the concept of the Grand Tourer according to the values of Style, Sophistication, Performance that are intrinsic to Ducati’s DNA.

Multistrada introduced several innovations to the Ducati range, such as the Riding Modes and DVT variable valve timing, but it was also the first bike in the world equipped with technological innovations such as the semi-active Skyhook suspension, or more recently the world first of front and rear radar to support Adaptive Cruise Control and Blind Spot Detection systems as well as extended deactivation.

With the “Rally” Ducati takes the globetrotter spirit of the Multistrada V4 to an even higher level, thanks to better comfort for rider and passenger, greater range and a more pronounced off-road aptitude without neglecting performance (170 hp), reliability and running costs, with maintenance intervals every 60,000 km and Oil Service every 15,000 km/24 months thanks to the 1,158 cc V4 Granturismo engine. The new deactivation strategy extends to the entire rear bank even when moving at low speeds, when the engine speed and the torque request from the throttle are low, positively impacting fuel consumption which drops by around 10%.

To tackle unpaved roads even better, this Multistrada can count on semi-active suspension with increased travel of 200 mm, lightened spoked rims, reinforced engine guards, an Enduro Riding Mode with brand new Power Mode dedicated to off-road use, wider rider foot-pegs and an even more precise and efficient Skyhook DSS EVO control strategy in this model.

Comfort improves with particular attention to two-seater use: the windshield has been redesigned (increased by 40 mm in height and 20 mm in width), the tail has been lengthened and the luggage attachment set back to offer more space in the leg area to the passenger, who can also count on footrests with larger rubber inserts to reduce the level of transmitted vibrations. Furthermore, thanks to the availability of different height saddles for both rider and passenger and the lowered suspension kit, the Multistrada V4 Rally can be customized to adapt to any torque configuration. With a view to improving thermal comfort, the air vents in the leg area can now be divided in order to keep the heat released by the engine in the cold seasons.

To further support active safety, the Multistrada V4 Rally also integrates Cornering ABS, which allows you to harness the braking power of its system even when cornering, the Ducati Cornering Lights (DCL), which improve night-time visibility by illuminating the inside of the bend, Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) and Ducati Traction Control (DTC). These systems use the inertial platform (IMU) to optimize intervention based on the lean and pitch angle of the vehicle.

The Multistrada V4 Rally also introduces a brand-new extended deactivation strategy of the rear bank, a technical solution making its debut on a production bike on the world stage. In addition to switching off the rear cylinders at idle when the bike is stationary, a function already present on the Multistrada V4, the V4 Granturismo now keeps the rear cylinder bank deactivated in other operating conditions to the benefit of fuel consumption and emissions.

The 6.5-inch colour TFT dashboard offers map navigation functions thanks to the Ducati Connect application, which supports the use of the telephone, now housed in a ventilated compartment, even to answer calls or listen to music, using a helmet equipped with an intercom system.

The Ducati Multistrada V4 Rally will arrive in dealerships from February 2023 in the two colours of Ducati Red and Brushed Aluminium & Matt Black, the latter with a visible brushed aluminium tank. Both versions have black spoked rims. There are three different versions: Adventure Radar, equipped with Adaptive Cruise Control and Blind Spot Detection functions, Adventure Travel & Radar, which adds aluminium side cases, heated grips and saddles, while the Full Adventure completes the latter equipment with an Akrapovič homologated silencer and front mudguard in carbon fibre.

The Multistrada V4 Rally – like all Ducati Multistradas – is covered by the “4|Ever Ducati” warranty, valid for 4 years with no mileage limit, with roadside assistance included throughout continental Europe.

Ducati’s Electric Chapter gets Underway: Production of MotoE Bikes Begins

Ducati’s electric chapter gets underway: production of MotoE bikes for the 2023 championship begins.

A little more than a year after the first test with Michele Pirro at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, work has begun on the “V21L” prototypes that will be the protagonists of the 2023 FIM Enel MotoE™ World Championship season. The production of the bikes started in December and the 23 units will be ready by mid-February. In addition to the 18 motorbikes that will be raced, five spare units will be made available to the organisation. Each prototype is assembled by expert technicians in the Ducati MotoE Racing Department with the same process, precision and attention to detail typical of the high craftsmanship used to build a MotoGP bike.

The start of production of the “V21L” prototypes represents the beginning of a new and important chapter in Ducati’s history. For the Bologna-based company, this project was born with the aim of developing skills for its future, maintaining the approach that has always fuelled Ducati’s DNA: experimenting with technological solutions in the world of racing and working to ensure that everything developed in this area can then be used on motorbikes destined for enthusiasts all over the world. To do this, Ducati created the world’s most technological, refined and sophisticated electric motorcycle, the result of the joint work of Ducati R&D engineers and the Ducati Corse team. “V21L” is the MotoGP of electric motorbikes, combining the electronic technologies and chassis dimensions developed by Ducati Corse with the design process and project management typical of a road bike like the Panigale V4. It is the combination of the best skills of the two worlds, racing and production, a prototype with which Ducati experiments in a world yet to be discovered, that of electric sports bikes.

Claudio Domenicali, CEO Ducati: “The start of production of the Ducati MotoE is a historic moment for our company, which with this project is thoroughly studying the technologies of the future for the world of motorcycling. It is an important area of experimentation, in which we are investing to build know-how, so that we will be ready when battery technology should allow the creation of an exciting electric road bike with the weight, performance and range that enthusiasts expect from a Ducati. We are therefore embarking on this new adventure with the aim of developing the people and skills within the company to shape what the character of a future Ducati electric road bike might be. The MotoE project represents a decisive step for Ducati to contribute to the reduction of CO2 emissions on the product side, alongside research into synthetic fuels (eFuel) that can reduce the total CO2 emissions of internal combustion engines to zero. Environmental sustainability is something that all individuals and all companies must consider a priority if the delicate balance of the planet is to be preserved. Ducati is committed to this also at industrial level, and the construction of the new Finitura e Delibera Estetica area classified as Nearly Zero Energy Building is just the latest example”.

After a year of development tests that have seen Michele Pirro, Alex De Angelis and Chaz Davies take turns riding the “V21L” prototype, the Ducati MotoE project is getting closer to the moment when the bikes will take to the track. The first test with the riders and teams that will compete in the 2023 World Championship is scheduled for the 6, 7 and 8 March at Jerez, followed by three more test days on the 3, 4 and 5 April at the Montmelò circuit in Barcelona.

The race debut will take place at the French Grand Prix on Saturday, 13 May. The 2023 MotoE World Championship calendar is spread over eight Grands Prix with two races per weekend, both on Saturdays. After the French debut, the MotoE World Championship will be present in all the following European races until the Misano GP, thus will continue at Mugello on the weekend of 11 June, at Sachsenring on the following weekend and at Assen on the 25 June. After the summer break, the Ducati MotoE bikes will return to the track at Silverstone on 5 August, before tackling the final three Grands Prix at the Red Bull Ring (20 August), Catalunya (2 September) and Misano (10 September).

Ducati and Audi together in Sardinia with DesertX and RS Q e-tron

Ducati and Audi together in Sardinia with DesertX and RS Q e-tron for a special event.

The most highly anticipated motorcycle of 2022 and the most surprising rally prototype met in Sardinia for a special event organized in partnership by Ducati and Audi. The new Ducati DesertX and the Audi RS Q e-tron took centre-stage in the first test reserved for the international media, which could also count on the presence of Danilo Petrucci, winner of a stage of the Dakar 2022, and the official Audi drivers/co-drivers Emil Bergkvist, Stéphane Peterhansel, Edouard Boulanger, Carlos Sainz and Lucas Cruz.

To celebrate this event, the Centro Stile Ducati has created an exclusive livery for the DesertX inspired by that of the RS Q e-tron. This special bike was ridden by Petrucci, who put on a show together with the Sainz/Cruz pairing on a technical off-road track.

Andrea Ferraresi, Centro Stile Ducati Director: “When we saw the RS Q e-tron for the first time, we couldn’t help but imagine it in action among the dunes and rocks together with the DesertX. This event gave us the opportunity to do so and so we decided to create an exclusive livery, inspired by the colours and graphics of the Audi prototype. Seeing cars and motorcycles together off-road is truly a great show. The collaboration between the two brands and between their respective Design Centers is strong and important“.

The DesertX is the model with which the Borgo Panigale motorcycle manufacturer enters the mid-displacement enduro segment. The bike is designed to tackle the most demanding off-road and for this reason it is equipped with a 21″ front wheel, 18″ rear wheel, long suspension travel and ample ground clearance. Powered by the 11° Testastretta engine , DesertX guarantees a comfortable, easy and safe ride on every type of journey thanks to the attention paid to ergonomics, careful aerodynamic study and advanced technological equipment.
The safety and performance of the new Ducati model are also guaranteed by the electronic systems, which represent the state of the art in terms of riding assistance. There are 6 Riding Modes available on DesertX (two of which are intended for off-road use: Enduro and Rally), and they work in combination with the 4 Power Modes that modify the power and responsiveness of the engine.

The RS Q e-tron is Audi’s rally prototype to tackle the desert and embodies the purest efficiency. The innovative electric drive with high voltage batteries and energy converter  pushes the limits of what is possible. The RS Q e-tron made its debut in the 2022 Dakar Rally last January and impressed with four stage victories, while in March it achieved his first overall victory at the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge. Audi factory driver driver Carlos Sainz underlined the importance of the model for the motorsport program of the German manufacturer: “What Audi has achieved with this concept is technically unique and a real benefit for us drivers. The event in Sardinia was great to communicate the benefits of the electric drive. All the media were impressed throughout”.

Sainz, Petrucci and all the Audi drivers were greeted enthusiastically by the press during this event which confirmed the great bond and constant collaboration between Ducati and Audi.

The new DesertX, which since its presentation has met with remarkable success, will be available in all European dealerships in the Ducati network from the end of May. The new model is also available in a 35kW depowered version for A2 license holders.

The time has come for bikers to make their wildest travel dreams come true.

Ducati presents the Panigale V4 SP2

Ducati presents the Panigale V4 SP2: “The Ultimate Racetrack Machine”

In the ninth and final episode of the Ducati World Première 2022 web series, Ducati unveiled the new Panigale V4 SP2 to enthusiasts: a special motorcycle in a numbered series, designed to fully experience the passion for riding on the track, further raising the performance of the Panigale V4:

The Ducati Panigale family is the maximum expression of the continuous exchange of information and technology from the world of racing to production bikes and with each new version it continues its evolution year after year, just as it happens with the Ducati Corse prototypes. The “SP2” is the model with which Ducati brings to the peak the sportiness of the Panigale V4 , the 2022 version of which has taken the most significant evolutionary step since its inception, improving in every aspect: aerodynamics, ergonomics, engine, chassis and electronics.

The Panigale V4 SP2 stands out for its equipment with the typical technical specifications of the abbreviation “SP” (Sport Production) which are combined with all the improvements made by Ducati engineers on the Panigale V4 2022 to create the most high-performing Panigale ever.

The “SP2” version has an even more powerful braking system, lightweight carbon rims, final drive and dry clutch inherited from the WorldSBK bikes, racing footpegs and a series of carbon components. The bike is also delivered with a kit for track use, which includes billet aluminium caps for the removal of rear-view mirrors*, kit for removing the license plate holder* and open carbon clutch cover*.
The result is “The Ultimate Racetrack Machine”: a special model, ideal for the non-professional rider who wishes to experience track days challenging his own records.

The Panigale V4 SP2 is characterized by the “Winter Test” livery, in which the matt black of the fairings is combined with the matt carbon finish of the rims and wings, contrasting with the bright red accents and the brilliance of the exposed brushed aluminium tank. The wings with double profile design are embellished with the Italian flag which also appears on the official Panigale V4 R SBK. The lower part of the fairing is distinguished by the presence of the Ducati Corse logo in the area of the new hot air extractors and by a red detail bearing the name of the bike, also present on the black saddle in double material. The steering head is machined from solid and shows the progressive number of the motorcycle, making each model unique.

The heart of the Panigale V4 SP2 is the 1,103 cc Desmosedici Stradale derived from MotoGP: a V4 with counter-rotating crankshaft equipped with a lot of torque from low revs and capable of expressing the racing soul of the bike on the track. For 2022, the Desmosedici Stradale has improved with the introduction of dedicated technical elements, which have made it possible to increase power and improve throttle response.
Thanks to these interventions and a new dedicated mapping, the Euro 5 version engine delivers 215.5 hp at 13,000 rpm, with a power increase of 1.5 hp over the Panigale V4 2021, which rises to 2.5 hp beyond the maximum power peak at 14,500 rpm**.
To capitalize on the full potential of this engine, dedicated gear-by-gear torque curves and four different Power Modes (Full, High, Medium, Low) have been developed by Ducati. The Full and Low configurations are newly developed, while the High and Medium configurations use a new strategy.

When used on the track, the performance of the Desmosedici Stradale can be further improved with the new full titanium Ducati Performance racing exhaust, developed in collaboration with Akrapovič and available as an accessory.

This exhaust is equipped with high silencers alongside the tail and has been redesigned to increase performance and limit noise, offering everyone the opportunity to run with a full racing exhaust even in circuits with the most stringent noise limits. With this exhaust the Panigale V4 SP2 is lightened by 5 kg thus taking the dry weight of the motorcycle to only 168 kg. The Akrapovič exhaust also guarantees an increase in power of 12.5 hp, bringing the maximum value to 228 hp, while the maximum torque value rises to 131 Nm**.

The connection to the bikes that race in the Superbike World Championship is even more evident in the “SP2” version of the Panigale V4. In fact, to the more “track-oriented” gearbox already presented on the Panigale V4 2022, this bike adds the lightened final drive with 520 chain and the STM-EVO SBK dry clutch. This clutch guarantees a more effective anti-hopping function in extreme use of the bike on the track and greater fluidity in all phases of “off throttle” compared to the oil bath clutch of the Panigale V4 S. The STM-EVO SBK clutch also offers the possibility to customize the “mechanical” engine brake level by choosing a different secondary spring from those available in the Ducati Performance accessories catalogue.

The chassis of the Panigale V4 SP2 includes an aluminium front frame that uses the Desmosedici Stradale as a stressed element. The aluminium swingarm and the seat post in shell-cast aluminium are directly connected to the engine. The pivot of the swingarm is positioned in such a way as to increase the anti-squat effect, which is the reduction of the sinking of the rear when exiting corners and when reopening the throttle, thus stabilizing the bike in acceleration.

The suspension system features an electronically controlled 125 mm travel Öhlins NPX25/30 pressurized fork at the front that uses a pressurized cartridge damping system derived from that of racing forks. This fork, in combination with the Öhlins TTX36 shock absorber and with the electronic steering damper, also Öhlins, forms the second generation of the Smart EC 2.0 system characterized by OBTI (Objective Based Tuning Interface) logic which, working “by objectives” and not by clicks, allows the rider a much more intuitive management than traditional systems.

To further enhance the performance on the track and the dynamic qualities of the Panigale V4, the “SP2” version is equipped with 5-split spoke carbon wheels , 1.4 kg lighter than the aluminium forged ones of the Panigale V4 S. The carbon rims guarantee a significant reduction in inertia (-26% at the front, -46% at the rear) to the benefit of agility, lightness in direction changes and greater ease in closing the curves.

The Panigale V4 SP2 is also equipped with exclusive Brembo Stylema R® front brake calipers, which guarantee high braking power combined with exceptional consistency of performance even during a lengthy timed session without changes to the travel of the brake lever. The calipers are operated by a Brembo MCS (Multiple Click System) radial pump  that allows you to adjust the wheelbase quickly and easily on three configurations to customize the braking feeling. The front brake lever is equipped with a “remote adjuster” device, which allows you to adjust its position by acting on a knob on the left grip, as is the case on racing bikes. Finally, on the “SP2” version the brake and clutch levers are milled at the ends to reduce air resistance.

Another essential element that characterizes the Panigale V4 SP2 is the equipment with Rizoma footpegs  in anodized aluminium with carbon fibre heel guards. The footpegs are fully adjustable and maximize ground clearance for more effective use on the track. These racing footpegs offer great grip for the boots, essential for riding at the limit on the circuit, further contributing to a completely redesigned ergonomics in 2022 with the new tank and saddle shapes, studied to improve control and make the most of the performance of the Panigale V4 both on the flying lap and during a prolonged session.

The Panigale V4 SP2 has an electronic package that includes controls that manage all the riding phases, whose operating parameters are linked by default to the 4 Riding Modes (Race A, Race B, Sport, Street).

All the electronic parameters of the bike can be clearly visualized thanks to the dashboard and to the “Track Evo” display mode , derived from the one used in MotoGP. In this screen, the tachometer moves on a horizontal scale positioned in the highest part of the instrument, or the most visible, and the indication of the gear engaged is in the centre of the screen. In the right area of the display there are four different coloured sectors, each dedicated to an electronic control (DTC, DWC, DSC, EBC). These sectors light up individually when the electronics are working on a certain parameter, remaining on for the time necessary for the rider to identify which indicator is activated. This signalling mode facilitates the rider’s task in understanding the control that has worked to allow him to intervene in a more precise and timely way on the choice of optimal level and to achieve better performance more quickly. The left sector completes the information with the chronometer, number of laps completed and speed.

On the “SP2” version, the GPS module is standard, thus allowing the activation of the automatic Lap Time function, which instantly provides the indication of two split times of the track on which you are lapping. Furthermore, by loading the Slick Ducati Performance Software (available as an accessory), Ducati Traction Control curves expressly developed for slick and rain tyres are available and the possibility of memorizing the coordinates of five different tracks is activated, as well as five additional fully customizable Riding Modes. Finally, thanks to the Ducati Data Analyzer, standard on the SP2, it is possible to conduct an in-depth analysis of all performance data.

The new Panigale V4 SP2 is available in single-seater configuration in “Winter Test” livery starting from March 2022***.

The Ducati E-Bikes range is updated for 2022

The Ducati E-Bikes range is updated for 2022 and extends into the e-road segment with the new Futa.

The eighth episode of the Ducati World Première 2022 web series was dedicated by the Bologna-based manufacturer to the presentation of the Ducati powered by Thok E-Bikes family.

For the 2022 season, the big news is the Futa: the first Ducati racing bicycle with pedal assistance, which will also be available in a Limited Edition. The Ducati E-Bikes range is also updated with an evolution of the MIG-S and the presentation of the TK-01RR Limited Edition.

Giorgio Favaretto, Head of Ducati E-Bikes business –  “The Ducati E-Bikes project was born in 2019 and immediately set itself the goal of offering pedal-assist bicycles with which to live unique and memorable experiences. The updates to existing models and the presentation of the new Ducati Futa give a further push in this direction, making up an even more complete and higher-performance range of E-Bikes for 2022. In particular, the inclusion of the Futa allows us to welcome new enthusiasts of this world into our family”.

The Ducati MIG-S  is an agile, high-performance and fun All Mountain, born to tackle any trail and ensure maximum fun in any condition. For 2022, the electric mountain bike is renewed in its aesthetics with a brand-new sporty livery which, as in all models in the range, was designed by Aldo Drudi in collaboration with the Centro Stile Ducati. The MIG-S also takes an important evolutionary step from a technical point of view by welcoming the more high-performance Shimano EP8 engine together with updated components.

The new Shimano EP8 drive unit represents a benchmark for the category. It is an exceptionally light engine (2.6 kg in weight), capable of delivering up to 85 Nm of torque with a maximum servo assistance ratio of 400%. In this engine the torque is always delivered with fluidity and naturalness to ensure excellent control of the vehicle. Thanks to the Shimano E-tube Project App, it is also possible at any time to adapt the character of the motor to your needs even via your smartphone wirelessly, by adjusting maximum torque and assistance timing.

The Ducati MIG-S can explore any path, ensuring excellent handling for the rider. The handling of this e-mtb is made possible by the high-level components it is equipped with.
The new suspensions (RockShox 35 RC fork and RockShox SuperDeluxe shock absorber) are adjustable and have a travel of 150 mm at the front and 140 mm at the rear, ideal for tackling any type of path in safety. The 12-speed SRAM transmission is even more precise and reliable, while the brakes are the powerful 4-piston SRAM Guide T with 203 mm discs. The 29″ front and 27.5″ rear THOK e-plus wheels are equipped with Pirelli Scorpion Enduro S tyres at the front and Pirelli Scorpion EMTB-S at the rear to offer maximum grip and traction on the most demanding stretches and at higher speeds. The 630 Wh Shimano battery is positioned externally, under the downtube, ensuring an extremely low centre of gravity and maximizing stability.

In 2022 the range expands also with the presentation of the new Ducati TK-01RR Limited Edition, an even more exclusive version of the Ducati e-enduro with which to tackle off-road challenges. This limited edition is a concentrate of technology that confirms the key features of the TK-01RR version, but is enriched with more advanced components, with the aim of further improving performance, especially in difficult downhill sections.

The Öhlins DH38 dual-plate motorcycle-style air fork (180 mm travel) and the Öhlins TTX spring shock absorber (170 mm travel) ensure incredible control of the vehicle downhill, while still maintaining great efficiency on uphill stretches. The 11-speed Shimano Di2 XT rear electronic shifter always provides fast and precise shifting, while the Magura MT7 brakes with 220 mm discs at the front and 203 mm at the rear are also of motorcycle derivation and are among the most powerful available on the market.
The differentiated format Crankbrothers Synthesis wheels (29″ front, 27.5″ rear) with variable thickness carbon rims help to further improve riding precision, guaranteeing an excellent weight / strength ratio. The set-up is completed by a Renthal carbon handlebar, a Fizik saddle with a special integrated tool holder, and finally a carbon battery cover and skid plate.

The most important Ducati powered by Thok news for 2022 is called Ducati Futa. The name derives from the Futa Pass, the road that crosses the Italian Apennines connecting Bologna to Florence, well-known and much-appreciated by many Ducatisti. The Ducati Futa is a performing e-road, for those who want to train, have fun and pedal to their maximum even over long distances and when covering the most demanding climbs. A light E-Bike that embodies the Ducati spirit by focusing on design, innovation and fun in a perfect combination of comfort and performance.

The carbon fibre monocoque frame features a sport endurance geometry, but with technical choices oriented to aerodynamics and speed. The compact rear triangle, with lowered seat-stays, makes the E-Bike comfortable, while generating less aerodynamic drag. The rear frame is stiff laterally, precisely by virtue of the choice of stays positioning and favours a better transmission of power to the wheel, as well as increasing the responsiveness of the bike. Top tube, downtube, seat post and fork blades are expertly profiled, and their reliefs are highlighted by the play of colours of the livery, which sees grey and black as the main colours with accents in Ducati Red.

The engine, located on the rear hub, is the FSA System HM 1.0 with 250W and 42Nm of torque which boasts a fluid and natural delivery in all conditions and is among the lightest and most compact in its category (3.98 kg). This engine is equipped with 5 assistance levels that can be selected via the Garmin control on the handlebar, which allow you to manage the desired level of support. The FSA app, available for iOS and Android devices, allows the rider to view statistics, system status, remaining battery life and charge status quickly and intuitively. Through the app it is also possible to download any software updates and communicate with FSA service centres around the world.

Thanks to its low weight (12.4 kg in M size) and to an almost imperceptible engine resistance, exceeding 25Km/h*, the Ducati Futa is always responsive and fast on flat stretches. The standard FSA K-Force WE group set features an exceptionally smooth and fast 2×12-speed wireless electronic shifting, powerful 160mm disc brakes with adjustable UD carbon interchangeable levers and crankset with pedal arms in carbon.
The Vision AGX30 wheels with carbon rims are fitted with 35 mm Pirelli Cinturato Velo TLR tyres, which guarantee smoothness, comfort and grip, combined with considerable strength. The 250 Wh FSA battery is integrated in the downtube and an optional 250 Wh range extender is available to cover even longer distances.

The new Futa will also be available in a Limited Edition: available only in 50 numbered units, created for those looking for an e-road with even more sophisticated standard equipment that makes the bike even lighter (12.2 kg).

The Futa Limited Edition has an exclusive livery inspired by Ducati Corse racing universe. This special model maintains the features of the Futa, but integrates them with top-of-the-range components to offer maximum riding comfort and top performance in any situation. Standing out among these components are the Campagnolo Super Record EPS electromechanical groupset, a benchmark model in terms of performance built with quality materials such as carbon, titanium and ceramic bearings, the Vision Metron 40 SL wheels with carbon rims, at the top for weight-aerodynamics ratio and the highly aerodynamic Vision Metron carbon fibre handlebar with integrated stem and cables.
The Ducati Futa Limited Edition is equipped as standard with the 250 Wh range extender and Garmin Edge Explorer GPS bike computer with customized handlebar mount, which provides dedicated maps and functions for road cycling.

The models that make up the new Ducati E-Bikes powered by Thok range can be ordered from the Ducati dealer network** and online at ebike.ducati.com.

Ducati Multistrada V4: a new colour, electronic updates..

Ducati Multistrada V4: a new colour, electronic updates and new accessories available for 2022.

With almost 10,000 motorcycles delivered worldwide, the Multistrada V4 ended 2021 as the best-selling and most popular family in the Ducati range. In its first year on the market, the Multistrada V4 was able to confirm the expectations created since the day of its presentation, establishing itself as an ideal motorcycle for any kind of trip.

The fourth generation of Multistrada has conquered many new Ducatisti. The Multistrada V4 is effective on all types of road, thanks to the dynamic qualities and smooth delivery of the V4 Granturismo engine, which guarantee a sporty and exhilarating ride on mixed roads and provide easy off-road riding. The bike features state-of-the-art technology : it is the first motorcycle in the world equipped with front and rear radar, with Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Blind Spot Detection (BSD) systems which represent a precious aid to riding comfort and safety, especially on long journeys. In addition, the Multistrada V4 has benchmark maintenance intervals with valve clearance control set every 60,000 km and all models of the family have the exclusive “4Ever Ducati” warranty, valid for 4 years with unlimited mileage*.

The success of the Ducati Multistrada V4 is proven not only by the feedback from the specialized press, but also by the satisfaction of the enthusiasts who have chosen to purchase it. This is a further incentive for Ducati to continue developing the project in 2022. The main goal, pursued through constant research and development work, is to continuously improve the bike by taking into account all of the needs of the Ducatisti, ensuring available updates and introducing new features on the production bikes.

The first new feature for the Multistrada V4 family in 2022 concerns the colour range of the S version, which expands with the addition of the new Iceberg White livery . It is a glossy white colour that enhances the refined lines of the bike. The Iceberg White Multistrada V4 S will be available in Ducati dealerships starting from March and joins the Ducati Red and Aviator Grey colour options. The bike can be ordered in four different trims (Essential, Radar, Travel & Radar, Full), which can be viewed in the dedicated section of the Ducati website.

For the electronic package, the main update lies in a new semi-automatic function of the electronic suspension for the Multistrada V4 S, called Minimum Preload. This feature allows you to reduce the height of the motorcycle and makes it easier and safer to place your feet on the ground during city use or when manoeuvring at low speed, especially with a passenger on board.
Another important software update concerns the interaction between the rider and the bike, which is now more functional thanks to the improvements implemented in the Infotainment (Ducati Connect) and HMI (Human-Machine Interface) areas.

The new package of updates is available both as a standard feature on new motorcycles and free of charge for those who already own a Multistrada V4 S, confirming the continuous attention that the Bologna-based manufacturer reserves for its enthusiasts. Multistrada owners who can take advantage of these new features will be contacted gradually through the MyDucati App and via email and will then be able to go to their trusted Ducati Service to receive the updates**.

The improvements made by Ducati to the Multistrada V4 project for 2022 also concern the Ducati Performance accessories line, which is enriched with two important elements: the lowered suspension kit and a set of aluminium bags.

The lowered suspension kit, available as accessory*** for the Multistrada V4 S, consists of fork springs, shock absorber springs and side stand, designed to reduce the saddle height from the ground by 20 mm. Equipped with the lowered suspension kit, the Multistrada V4 offers greater confidence at low speeds, while maintaining the dynamic characteristics typical of this model. With the introduction of the lowered suspension kit, the seat height range of the Multistrada V4 is even wider. The low saddle (-30 mm) and raised saddle (+15 mm) accessory gives the rider the possibility to choose in a range between 790 and 875 mm to find the configuration that best suits his physical characteristics and riding style.

The latest addition to the Multistrada family is designed for motorcyclists who have a strong aptitude for travelling. In fact, starting from April 2022, the aluminium side panniers and top case, designed by the Centro Stile Ducati and made in collaboration with Givi, will be included in the catalogue. The considerable total capacity (76 litres for the side panniers and 41 litres for the top case) allows motorcyclists to take everything they need with them for each trip. The cases are designed to be filled from above, in order to maximize capacity and facilitate loading and unloading.

To further increase practicality, internal bags  are also available as an accessory, made of resistant waterproof fabric with heat-sealed seams and customized with the Ducati Performance logo. These comfortable bags are created to make the most of the available space and keep everything in order inside the cases. The practical handles also allow you to carry them as hand luggage, making them a versatile product, capable of optimizing comfort and functionality on every journey.

* ”4Ever Ducati” warranty is valid only in EU countries
** The software update campaign will start in EU countries and progressively extend to America, Australia, Japan and APAC countries.
*** Bike specifications and dealer availability may vary from market to market.

The XDiavel Nera project comes to life from the values shared by the two companies: the passion for design, craftsmanship tradition, the use of cutting-edge technologies and an aptitude for innovation. The result is a motorcycle that is unique in its character and aesthetics, which communicate Italian design, and it will be produced in a numbered edition limited to 500 units.

Andrea Ferraresi, Director of the Centro Stile Ducati:  “The XDiavel Nera project was born from the encounter between two Italian excellences. Ducati and Poltrona Frau are two brands with a unique history, they share a passion for beauty and well-made objects, they are strongly Italian and make craftsmanship a distinctive element, always supporting it with sophisticated technological solutions and the use of high-quality materials. The XDiavel Nera perfectly summarizes the values that unite Ducati and Poltrona Frau. It is a unique motorcycle with an unmistakable identity, a splendid expression of the excellence of Made in Italy “.

Poltrona Frau is a leading company in high-end furniture and an ambassador of Italian excellence all over the world. The collaboration with Ducati, introduced with the Ducati Scrambler Club Italia project, benefits from the experience gained over the years by the Interiors in Motion area of Poltrona Frau. The Interiors in Motion Business Unit specializes in the creation, construction and supply of distinctive leather interiors in the premium automotive, aviation, rail transport and offshore navigation sectors.

Giovanni Maiolo, Poltrona Frau Interiors in Motion Business Unit Director: “There is great satisfaction for the work done together with Ducati on the XDiavel Nera. We are proud to be part of this 100% Italian project that has fascinated us from the very beginning and has given us the opportunity to once again demonstrate our know-how and our ability to design in co-design projects by combining innovation and craftsmanship.”

The new XDiavel Nera is characterized by the “Black on Black” livery in which gloss and matt black portions alternate. This livery makes the XDiavel even sportier and is also reflected in a dedicated jet helmet, which owners of XDiavel Nera can order together with the bike. The bike is also enriched by some style details that enhance its aesthetics, such as the brake calipers and engine head covers in Ducati Red colour and the lightened and fully machined forged rims, painted in gloss black.

The most recognizable part of the XDiavel Nera is the special seat made of Pelle Frau®: a soft natural leather saddled by hand, the result of years of research by Poltrona Frau. It is available in five different colours (Siam Red, Steel Blue, Cemento, India and Selva) and is customized with a series of “X” engraved through a sophisticated laser process, which recall the name of the bike.

Ducati XDiavel is a motorcycle with a strong personality that focuses heavily on the concept of individualization. In this project, the possibility of customization is expressed through the choice of preferred colour for the seat, to which are added a wider comfort saddle and a backrest, also in Pelle Frau® leather, suitable for travelling in two without sacrificing style.
The 500 Ducatisti enthusiasts who order XDiavel Nera will also receive an exclusive key ring and document holder made of Pelle Frau® leather in the matching colour to the one chosen for the saddle.

XDiavel is the result of a crossover between two apparently different and distant universes. On the one hand, the relaxed pace at low speed typical of the Cruiser world and on the other the sporty riding and exciting performance of Ducati. The perfect expression of this mix is given by the characteristics of the  Testastretta DVT 1262 engine which, in combination with the final belt drive, ensures smooth delivery at low revs and a full curve up to the highest revs. The Testastretta DVT 1262, clearly visible in the centre of the bike, in Euro5 configuration delivers a maximum power output of 160 hp at 9,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 13.0 kgm at 5,000 rpm.

The chassis of the bike, the reduced height from the ground of the saddle (755 mm) and the forward position of the footpegs are designed to offer great riding ease and comfort when travelling at low speed in complete relaxation and, at the same time, maximum fun in sporty riding. The combination of the tubular steel trellis frame, the front and rear suspension and the chassis dimensions allows agility and controllability of the front axle, guaranteeing surprising handling.

XDiavel Nera is equipped at the rear with a 240 mm wide tyre  mounted on a rim with an 8” channel that makes the bike easily recognizable from any angle, becoming a highly distinctive style element. The particular profile of the tyre also allows a maximum lean angle of 40°, an unthinkable value for a motorcycle of this type. The braking system is powerful and modular and is equipped, like the whole Ducati range, with ABS Cornering. At the front it features Brembo monobloc M50 calipers and two 320 mm discs, while at the rear we can find a single 265 mm disc.

The lighting system is full-LED with a DRL daytime running light system on the front that is easily recognizable and of great visual impact. XDiavel Nera is equipped with Bosch Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) which, by dynamically measuring the roll and pitch angles as well as the speed of the relative set-up variations, provides the information to ABS Cornering. This system, together with Ducati Traction Control (DTC), Riding Modes, Cruise Control and Ducati Power Launch (DPL), make the XDiavel Nera a technologically advanced, high-performance and safe motorcycle. The electronic equipment is completed by the two-level dashboard with colour animation TFT screen and dedicated key-on, in addition to the hands-free system, to be able to use the motorcycle with the key in your pocket or bag.

The individualization of the XDiavel also includes completely customizable ergonomics thanks to the adjustable footpegs in three positions, or through the choice of Ducati Performance accessories that best suit your needs, including handlebars of different shapes and rearward footpegs compared to the standard or centrally located ones.

The XDiavel Nera can already be ordered with the seat in the preferred colour and will be available in dealerships in the Ducati network starting from March 2022. It fits into the Ducati XDiavel range alongside the essential XDiavel Dark and the sporty XDiavel S.

Horizon V2: The Ducati Helmet for Touring

Horizon V2: the Ducati helmet for touring with an integrable intercom system.

Horizon V2 is the touring helmet par excellence of the Ducati range, specifically developed by the Bologna-based manufacturer, combining comfort and practicality, style and safety, with the aim of making every trip an unforgettable experience.

Included in the 2022 Apparel collection, Ducati Horizon V2 has graphics designed by Drudi Performance exclusively for Ducati and is a modular helmet , which means that it offers the motorcyclist the possibility of transforming it from a full-face helmet to a jet helmet by lifting the chin guard. The outer shell is made of Ultra Carbon material combined with aramid and glass fibres, which give the helmet strength and lightness. The Carbon Fitting internal padding with thermoregulating active carbon filaments ensures an excellent level of comfort, while safety is guaranteed by the ability of the expanded polystyrene of the inner shell to absorb and disperse kinetic energy in the event of an impact.

The attention paid by Ducati to safety is combined with a modern and gritty look with an iconic and at the same time essential new graphic design, which enhances the colours and the Ducati logo with geometric lines and sophisticated colour combinations.
The Eyewear Adaptive system allows you to wear the Ultrawide goggles and visor which, with its large surface, offers excellent visibility to the rider. The included sun visor grants excellent protection from UV rays – up to 400 nm – essential for tackling longer journeys, and can be easily disassembled for maintenance and cleaning.

The Horizon V2 helmet is designed and approved for integration with the N-Com B 902X Intercom system to ensure maximum connectivity while experiencing the pleasure of adventure. This system allows you to manage the mobile phone and its answering, hanging up and last-number redialling functions via Bluetooth, with voice commands and automatic switching between intercom and phone. The intercom system is equipped with a Smart Conference function for group communications and for sharing music with both the passenger and another motorcycle when travelling in company.

In the Ducati Apparel collection there is an entire line dedicated to Touring made up of items that represent the ideal travel companions to make every ride memorable. Both outfits are designed by Aldo Drudi and produced by Ducati following the criteria of lightness, strength and usability.
