Z900 Powers Into 2022 Season

One of Kawasaki’s most outstanding success stories of the recent past, the Z900 is set to power its way into 2022 and earn a place in the hearts of yet more naked bike category fans.

A hit since the day of its introduction, the Z900 has gradually evolved to meet the needs of discerning riders but never at the cost of the core, elemental riding experience that only a Kawasaki Z can deliver.

The Z900 now boasts a number of rider aids and additional features that enhance the overall riding and ownership experience. From a rider view perspective, the Z900 comes equipped with a colour TFT meter display that has earned high praise for its clarity. Plus integrated into the meter is a Bluetooth chip allowing he rider to synch their smart phone with their motorcycle using the useful Rideology App from Kawasaki that relates a variety of machine and status aspects to the screen of the riders’ phone.

Also aiding the rider, the Z900 has handlebar switch selectable power modes offering a choice of Full Power or Low Power allowing riders to set the power delivery to suit preference and conditions.

KTRC, Kawasaki’s advanced traction control system, is also standard providing both enhanced sport riding performance and the peace of mind to negotiate low-traction surfaces with confidence. The three rider selectable modes offer progressively greater levels of intervention to suit the riding situation and rider preference.

And usefully combining the two, the Z900 incorporates selectable Riding Modes as standard linking KTRC and Power Mode to allow riders the facility to set traction control and power delivery to suit a given riding situation. Riders can choose from three settings (Sport, Road, Rain) or a manual setting (Rider).

Benefitting – like all models in the 2022 Z family – from Kawasaki’s unique Sugomi design philosophy creating a balance between visual styling and under-skin engineering, the Z900 will be available in early November and will come in three colours:

  • Metallic Spark Black/Metallic Flat Spark Black (Standard £9,299, Performance Edition £10,199)
  • Pearl Robotic White/Metallic Matte Graphenesteel Gray (Standard £9,399, Performance Edition £10,299)
  • Candy Lime Green/Metallic Spark Black (Standard £9,399, Performance Edition £10,299)

Kawasaki Z650 energized for 2022 with World Champion seal of approval

Running under the tagline Energize from its launch, the twin-cylinder, water-cooled Z650 is a key mid-capacity model for Kawasaki. In a market that demands performance, an energizing ride and real owner and machine engagement, the Z650 excels.

Appealing to a wide range of potential riders, the Z650 is A2 licence category compliant, inspiring confidence in not just those relatively new to two wheels but even seasoned riders; in fact the Z650 is the machine that six time World Superbike champion, Jonathan Rea, recently chose to ride for his basic training in advance of taking his road motorcycle test.

Equipped as standard with LED lighting and a low emission Euro5 compliant engine, the styling and technical features of the Z650 automatically denote this as a strong member of the iconic Z family. Sugomi design is an equal marriage of styling and engineering manifesting itself in the sharp chin spoiler, muscular radiator shrouds and aggressive angular lines of the machine which also benefits from a narrow profile that inspires rider confidence.

Technically the Z650 utilises a highly praised colour TFT meter panel that not only conveys information clearly but also has an integrated Bluetooth chip allowing riders to pair their motorcycle with their smartphone using Kawasaki’s Rideology App to access an array of machine data and other information.

As rewarding for those climbing the capacity ladder as those that have been riding for many years – and even multiple World Champions – the Z650 will be available in early October in three editions, Standard, Performance and new for 2022, Urban, which comes equipped with a top box. The 2022 Z650 will be available in three colour options:

  • Metallic Spark Black/Metallic Flat Spark Black (Standard – £6,949, Urban – £7,169, Performance – £8,449)
  • Candy Lime Green/Metallic Spark Black (Standard – £7,049, Urban – £7,269, Performance – £8,549)
  • Pearl Robotic White/Metallic Matte Graphenesteel Gray (Standard – £7,049, Urban – £7,269, Performance – £8,549)

Vulcan S cruises into 2022 in style

Style never goes out of fashion and the 2022 Vulcan S is set to make the hearts of both those who are already embedded in the cruiser bike scene beat faster as well as A2 category licence holders looking for a stylish and easy to handle mid-weight machine.

Equipped with Kawasaki’s justifiably popular 649cc water-cooled parallel twin engine used so successfully in other middle weight models, in this case it is tuned for relaxed and controllable low and mid-range torque and response.

Enshrined in a sleek tubular chassis, the beat of the twin cylinder engine perfectly complements the long teardrop tank, the plush deep seat and the relaxed attitude of this smart and sassy boulevard cruiser. Add the look and ride quality of an offset laydown rear shock plus sturdy 41mm front forks and you combine show and go seamlessly well.

Ergonomics are catered for courtesy of pull-back style handlebars and a classic feet forward cruiser seating position while the ability to have both feet firmly on the ground when stationary will appeal to shorter riders and those just starting their mid-capacity journey.

In terms of rider friendliness, the Vulcan S is streets ahead of the competition thanks to an innovative range of Ergo-Fit options. Unique to Kawasaki, Ergo-Fit offers combinations of differing seat heights, footpeg and control positions plus handlebar reaches in order to custom tune the riding position for the widest range of rider heights, sizes and limb lengths.

Resplendent with eye catching multi-spoke wheels, the combination of an 18-inch wheel at the front and a fat 17-inch rear really adds to the overall presence of this impressive A2 licence category compliant cruiser.

Ninja 1000SX Sport Touring story extends into 2022

With few, if any, rivals, the Kawasaki sport touring Ninja 1000SX has been one of the stand-out machines of recent years. Carving itself an enviable niche as a machine that has supersport handling and DNA combined with the comfort and flexibility to tour solo or with passenger, the Ninja 1000SX has won the highest praise winning countless magazine and web site road tests.

Now in its fourth iteration, the Ninja 1000SX has been gradually refined and features a magical mix of features that combine to create a machine with real pedigree. The recent adoption of a sporting four into one exhaust and more angular cowling combine with radial mount mono-bloc front brake calipers, a radial mount master cylinder and horizontal back-link suspension plus up/down quick shifter to display authentic Ninja credentials.

And from a touring perspective, clever touches abound. In terms of luggage capacity, the combined total capacity of the accessory panniers is an impressive 56l plus a clean mount pannier system means that the supersport style of the machine is not marred by an ugly framework when the panniers are removed. Seat comfort has also recently been upgraded along with greater wind protection from a screen offering a wide range of adjustment to fine tune the ride.

In terms of electronic rider aids, the assistance is myriad thanks to the adoption of an IMU that, along with the ECU, measures inertia in six axis plus electronic cruise control as standard. Alongside this, selectable integrated riding modes and a cornering management function are standard as well as power mode selection, KTRC traction control, supersport level ABS and smartphone connectivity between the all-digital TFT colour meter and the riders’ smartphone via Kawasaki’s Rideology App.

Default choice for a legion of riders who want their machine to multi-task and excel at whatever it is asked to do, the 2022 Ninja 1000SX will deliver a truly unique combination of competencies.

The 2022 Ninja 1000 SX will be available during October, and comes in the following colours:

–           Metallic Diablo Black/Pearl Robotic White (Priced £11,399)

–           Emerald Blazed Green/ Metallic Diablo Black/Metallic Graphite Gray (Priced £11,599)

–           Metallic Matte Graphenesteel Gray/Steel Gray/ Metallic Diablo Black (Priced £11,599)

Also available in three further editions, including the ever popular Tourer edition priced from £12,499.  For further details please visit www.kawasaki.co.uk.

Launching confidently into the 2022 season, Kawasaki will offer eight off-road machines across a range of sizes and disciplines from first two-wheeler and junior MX machines all the way to MX2 and MXGP class machines plus two enduro/trail specified mounts.

Entry point into the addictive world of off-road riding remains covered with the compact four stroke KLX110 with its semi-auto gearbox, kick and electric start systems plus tutor friendly adjustable throttle stop. KX85

At the top of the capacity scale, the green team will offer an impressive two machine range in 2022 with the KX450X and KX450. Offering an enduro/trail targeted machine in the KX450X and the race and championship winning potential of the awesome KX450, the complete eight model 2022 range has both breadth and depth and is sure to strike a chord with fans young and old, those new to the sport or engrossed in motocross: plus those obsessed with enduro and trail riding for weekend fun or full-on competition.

Kawasaki Z900 eligible for grass roots NLR Moto46 Streetbike Cup

Kawasaki Motors UK is pleased to announce that the Kawasaki Z900 supernaked machine is eligible for the Moto46 Streetbike Cup, a brand-new support class in the 2021 No Limits Racing Series.

The Moto46 Streetbike Cup, which kicks off at Donington Park on 17/18 April, provides riders with an entry-level racing platform from which to hone and develop their talent – something that is in keeping with Kawasaki’s long-established ethos of supporting and encouraging grass roots racing.

The Kawasaki Z900, with its aggressive Sugomi styling, represents the ideal balance between the direct and emotionally charged experience of riding a class-defining Z family naked bike and the refinement and confidence that a carefully selected suite of electronic rider aids proves. The popular machine has previous race pedigree in the form of the European Z900 Cup, a series that ran alongside the FIM CEV Repsol championship in Spain and Portugal.

Riders choosing to contest the Moto46 Streetbike Cup aboard the Kawasaki Z900 can take advantage of the full Z900 protection kit created specifically for the Euro series by market-leading motorcycle protection provider and No Limits partner, GB Racing. Competitors can also call on the services of Kawasaki’s Team Green Technical Partner, MSS Performance, who supply racing parts and technical support for Kawasaki Racing riders at all levels of competition.

The Moto46 Streetbike Cup will run alongside the eight-round No Limits Racing National Endurance Championship, which begins on 17/18 April at Donington Park and concludes in October at Brands Hatch, visiting Oulton Park, Cadwell Park, Croft and Anglesey along the way (all dates subject to change). For more information visit www.nolimitsracing.co.uk

Craig Watson, Kawasaki Motors UK Sales and Marketing Manager:

“Kawasaki has a long history of supporting rider development from an early stage, so we’re really pleased that the Z900 is eligible for this new grass roots racing opportunity. We want to encourage riders to get into the sport and should you be sat there thinking “this is for me!” Get in touch with your local Kawasaki dealer as we are setting up a Z900 race support price for eligible racers!

I will certainly be keeping a close eye on the Streetbike Cup and will have some more exciting news about our involvement in the coming weeks.”

Kawasaki has just unveiled three items from its upcoming 2021 KRT clothing range

With the prospect of the WorldSBK racing season starting soon, Kawasaki has just unveiled three fast moving items from its upcoming 2021 KRT clothing range.

Seen for the first time at the official launch of the Kawasaki Racing Team for the 2021 season, riders Jonathan Rea and Alex Lowes gave the new clothing items their public debut. Styled in Italy, the new KRT T-Shirt and Sweatshirt display the traditional Kawasaki racing green and black colourway with the addition of red for 2021 reflecting the livery of the new 2021 Ninja factory race machine.

Joined as part of the first release of items in the new KRT apparel range by a cap, all items feature the Monster Energy emblem as well as other sponsor logos as high quality 3D badges and not printed items, further adding to the quality look and feel of the garments.

Officially endorsed by the Kawasaki factory in Japan and the Kawasaki Racing Team, the sweatshirt, t-shirt and cap are now available in Kawasaki dealerships and via official on-line stores selling alongside existing KRT apparel items.

Commenting on the new items, KRT Team Manager, Guim Roda said “We regard every season as a fresh start and a new focus. For 2021 we have a new bike, a new colour scheme and now, new clothing. If you want to wear exactly the same style of shirt or cap as Jonathan or Alex, then visit your Kawasaki dealer and join KRT for another exciting racing season.”

Kawasaki’s Supercharged Z H2 SE blasts into 2021

A supercharged sensation at its launch on the Las Vegas Motor Speedway earlier in 2020, Kawasaki’s incredible Z H2 blasts into 2021 with an SE model in showrooms making it a two-bike range for the new year.

In its own unique paint and graphic look, the SE model does what seemed impossible at the time, adding yet more bling to the Z H2 concept. Already a no-nonsense, impossible to ignore base machine, the SE version adds some key features to justify its claim to be King of the Supernakeds.

The trellis chassis remains and so too the unique balanced supercharged engine that has won so many plaudits already. And although appearing to be naked and stripped to bare essentials, the Z H2 SE also boasts an awesome array of electronic rider aids including, electronic cruise control, integrated riding modes (linking KTRCS sport traction control), power modes, traction & launch control, selectable power modes an up/down quick shifter plus Cornering Management Function, launch control and Intelligent anti-lock Brake System which counts on Brembo Stylema calipers for incredible stopping power.

And while the huge torque of the 998cc inline four brings the horizon rushing into focus, the journey there will now be even smoother as the new edition of electronically damped ø43 mm Showa SFF-CA (cartridge) fork and a high-spec BFRC lite rear shock can now count on Showa’s Skyhook technology. With a 1 millisecond reaction time, Skyhook adjusts the damping electronically to suit vehicle speed and suspension stroke speed with the intention of keeping the body of the vehicle in a constant attitude while the wheels and suspension follow the dips and deviations in the road surface.  Deceleration is also considered, allowing the pitching that occurs under braking to be managed.

Ensuring that Kawasaki’s Sugomi styled predator does not have to move among the shadows at night, an all LED lighting package illuminates the Z H2 SE while the rider can focus on the clarity of a TFT meter panel which is also Bluetooth equipped allowing connection with a Smartphone for a variety of functions courtesy of Kawasaki’s free to download Rideology app. With so many stand out features – and such characteristic Kawasaki state-of-the-art engineering – it’s no wonder the Z H2 SE is adorned with the exclusive “River Mark”.

It’s a lot to take in and certainly a genuine assault on the senses so it’s comforting to know only one word needs to be recalled to create an image of the 2021 Z H2 SE – Supercharge!

Arriving March 2021, the Kawasaki Z H2 will cost £15,899, with the Performance edition priced at £16,999. The Z H2 SE is available in Gloden Blazed Green and Diablo Black and will cost  £18,349, with the Performance Edition priced at £19,449.

Adventure calls as Kawasaki unveil all‑new 2021 Versys 1000 S and updated Versys 1000 SE

Equipped as standard with many of the features seen on the popular SE model, the new for 2021 Versys 1000 S may very well be “the best of both worlds” for many riders seeking 1000cc adventure style luxury with a traditional chassis layout. The Versys 1000 SE also receives an update for 2021, taking rider comfort to the next level with the addition of Showa Skyhook technology.

Available in two further Edition models in the UK, the Versys S becomes a three machine line with a Standard model plus Tourer and Grand Tourer editions; each option being fitted with a gradually increasing number of touring items from panniers, handguards and a tank pad for the Tourer model. The ultimate spec is a comprehensive long-distance package for the Grand Tourer offering the most luggage space thanks to the addition of a 47l top case complementing the clean mount panniers with one key fitting every lock on the machine.

Equipped with manually adjustable Showa 43mm inverted front forks with rebound damping and spring preload adjustability, the rear horizontal back-link suspension features a gas-charged Showa shock absorber with rebound damping and remote spring preload adjustability.

Featuring an iconic Kawasaki sporting yet flexible four-cylinder across the frame motor at its heart, the adventure focused 1,043 cm3 Versys 1000 S benefits from electronic throttle valves which allow the adoption of electronic cruise control while Kawasaki’s IMU linked cornering management function forms part of a comprehensive electronic rider aid and handling package.

The suite of electronic rider aids also includes KTRC traction control as well as selectable engine power modes to suit conditions and rider preference. The Versys 1000 S also comes as standard with integrated rider modes allowing the selection of three modes which automatically combine the most appropriate traction control and power settings for sport, road, rain plus a rider (manual) mode.

Practically speaking, the S ergonomic package is well thought through with a large adjustable height screen for protection from the elements and a seating arrangement that offers hour after hour comfort for rider and passenger alike. Additionally the Versys 1000 S can also be fitted with the accessory Low Seat (20 mm height reduction) which facilitates an easy reach to the ground.

Bringing the comfortable long travel suspension equipped machine to a halt, KIBS intelligent anti-lock brakes rely on powerful radial mount mono-block front brake calipers while LED headlamps ensure that the route ahead is clearly defined. In fact the Versys 1000 S is equipped with LED lighting throughout from main lighting to indicators, rear brake light and even licence plate illumination.

Additionally, a TFT meter panel and LED cornering lights form part of the specification along with a Kawasaki quick shifter for fast and seamless changes up and down the gearbox. This is allied to an assist and slipper clutch with a lighter handlebar lever action than the majority of its competitors.

The Kawasaki Rideology App delivers Smartphone connectivity to the Versys 1000 S meaning owners can “pair” with their bike via a Bluetooth connection and see riding logs and other machine specific information such as service and oil change intervals.

For 2021 the Versys 1000 S is also equipped with Kawasaki’s Highly Durable paint which, via a “trampoline effect” of still semi-liquid molecules within the coating, can change the appearance of light scuffs back to standard looking paintwork using a high-tech recovery process.

Touring focus on the Versys 1000 S is ably handled with clever additions such as a dash-mounted 12V power source for powering not just satellite navigation systems but a host of other power-hungry essential items. Additionally the standard fitment of grip heaters, hand guards and a large height adjustable screen ensures total comfort – whatever the conditions. The Versys S story continues – now it’s time to add your own chapter.

Colours for 2021 will be:

> Emerald Blazed Green / Metallic Diablo Black / Metallic Flat Spark Black
> Pearl Storm Gray / Metallic Diablo Black / Metallic Flat Spark Black

EDITIONS Details:

> Tourer spec – 56l Panniers, Pannier inner bags, Tank Pad
> Grand Tourer spec – 56l Panniers, Pannier inner bags, 47l Top Case, Top Case inner bag, Tank Pad, Fog lights, GPS Bracket, Frame Sliders

Versys 1000 SE upgrade

In addition to the new Kawasaki Versys 1000 S, the brand is also updating the popular Versys 1000 SE for 2021, taking rider comfort and suspension feedback to the next level with the addition of Showa Skyhook.

The Skyhook concept imagines a hook supporting the motorcycle’s sprung weight and modulates the suspension’s damping force to allow the wheels to track the dips and bumps encountered while maintaining the motorcycle’s vertical position with minimal disturbance.

Showa’s Skyhook software, which has been carefully fine-tuned by Kawasaki engineers, ensures the Versys 1000’s sporty riding character has been preserved, delivering a smoother ride as it continually adapts to the road surface in real time.  Road holding ability is excellent, pitching (especially when riding with passenger) is reduced while steering remains light when riding on the highway and the bike feels more stable when riding in the rain.

Colours for 2021 will be:

> Emerald Blazed Green / Metallic Diablo Black / Metallic Flat Spark Black
> Pearl Storm Gray / Metallic Diablo Black / Metallic Flat Spark Black

Now, for 2021, when Versys riders hear Adventure Calling they will be able to respond with the most technically advanced and luxurious Versys ever.

These two models will be the only variants of the Versys 1000 available in the UK in 2021, with the all-new Versys 1000 S arriving in dealers this December retailing at £12,999, whilst the upgraded Versys 1000 SE will cost £14,899 and will be in dealers from February. The Editions will be priced:

> Versys 1000 S Tourer – £13,799
> Versys 1000 S Grand Tourer – £14,699

Each a standout bike in its class, Kawasaki’s venerable water-cooled, cassette gearbox equipped 650 twin engine once again powers new iterations of the Ninja 650, Versys 650 and Z650 for the coming season.

That means for riders who prefer mid-weight ‘All Roads, One Bike’ style machines, the Versys will now be available in Candy Lime Green / Metallic Spark Black, Pearl Blizzard White / Metallic Spark Black or Metallic Moondust Gray / Metallic Spark Black.

Equipped with distinctive long travel suspension, the Versys is ready to tackle the city, its suburbs and any distance demanded thanks to a confidence inspiring upright riding position and the ability to add clean mount 56l accessory panniers that utilise a single key operating the ignition, fuel cap and seat lock too.

Kawasaki Ninja 650

Comfortable attacking not simply corners but carving a niche for itself in the hearts of many sporting riders, the Ninja 650 will arrive on showroom floors with an equipment package that includes LED headlamps, a colour TFT meter and an assist and slipper clutch.

The machine’s narrow, lithe profile is an ideal confidence boost for newer riders while the angular Ninja cowling is great to tuck behind for more experienced riders enjoying the full sporting potential of this mid-capacity Ninja. For 2021 the colour options are Metallic Spark Black, Lime Green / Ebony / Pearl Blizzard White or Metallic Spark Black / Pearl Blizzard White.

The Sugomi presence of the hard edged yet supremely rider friendly Z650 will be accentuated in 2021 with machines offered in Metallic Spark Black / Metallic Flat Spark Black, Pearl Blizzard White / Metallic Spark Black or Metallic Spark Black; this underpinned with dual throttle valves, LED lighting and a trellis type tubular chassis echoing that of the mighty Z H2.

Offering outstanding performance in terms of newbie-friendly power delivery and responsive chassis compliance, each of the “trio of twins” can also offer a lusty mid-range and accomplished top end rush ready to satisfy even the most time-served rider.

Add the narrow profile and sleek outward appearance of the twin cylinder engine and the only decision to make is the family; Ninja, All Roads, One Bike or Z Naked – whatever the choice these three Euro5 compliant mid-weights approach 2021 ready, willing and able.

Pirelli DIABLO ROSSO™ III chosen as original equipment for the new hypernaked Kawasaki Z H2

Protagonist at the EICMA show last November and recently presented to the international press in Las Vegas, the Kawasaki Z H2 represents the most radical and powerful motorcycle ever produced of the historic Z series. Now the flagship model of this family, the supercharged naked from Akashi is able to satisfy the most demanding motorcyclists thanks to a long list of cutting-edge technical and electronic features. The most defining feature is certainly the 988cc four-cylinder in-line supercharged engine that is able to deliver up to 200 PS at 11,000 rpm.

To transmit the high power generated by the engine to the ground, Kawasaki has selected Pirelli DIABLO ROSSO™ III in the 120/70 ZR 17 M/C (58W) TL (K) size for the front and 190/55 ZR 17 M/C (75W) TL (D) for the rear of the Z H2. The version of the front tyre (K) was designed by Pirelli engineers specifically in order to meet the Japanese company’s goals in terms of agility and handling. The rear version (D) manages the incredible power and immense torque of the supercharged engine ensuring high stability and traction management.

The DIABLO™ brand has always represented Pirelli excellence in the world of sport tyres for motorcycles. The DIABLO™ brand can boast almost 18 years of experience, technology and wins in the comparative tyre tests from the most authoritative specialist magazines and in international races at all levels. Within the DIABLO™ range, the DIABLO ROSSO™ brand identifies products dedicated to high performance use on roads and the DIABLO ROSSO™ III continues this pedigree and story of this successful brand.

Since 2004,Pirelli has made the FIM Superbike World Championship for production-based motorcycles the benchmark to develop not only the products used in competition, but also tyres used daily by motorcyclists all over the world. Inspired by the philosophy, which has now become a motto of the Italian tyre company, “We sell what we race, we race what we sell”, Pirelli has managed to bring to fruition all the experience acquired in this championship, applying normal production products for road use to some of the patents and materials developed for racing activity. The entire DIABLO ROSSO™ III project is the result of Pirelli’s long experience in the FIM Superbike World Championship: the design technology, the materials of the structure, and compound mixing process are the same as used for Superbikes.

The main technical characteristics of the DIABLO ROSSO™ III are:

1)     The bi compound rear tyre with high percentages of silica that improves grip in all conditions with the added benefit of giving extra mileage

2)     The profile derived from race tyres

3)     The tread which uses a pattern that is an evolution of the DIABLO™ Supercorsa DOT race tyre but features more tread grooves for better wet handling

DIABLO ROSSO III

All of this leads to the following advantages to motorcyclists by the new DIABLO ROSSO™ III:

1)     The excellent handling comes from the race tyre DNA andtransmits to the motorcyclist a strong feeling of grip and superb feedback on the bike. This is made possible by the combined characteristics of profile and structure that are derived directly from Superbike competition.

2)     The exceptional grip, able to transfer the power of motorcycles such as the Kawasaki Z H2, powered by a 988cc four-cylinder in-line supercharged engine. Grip and safety feeling not only on dry tarmac but also on wet, thanks to the new materials and experience gained by the brand in other segments.

3)     Providing consistent performance over the tyre’s life, ensuring confidence-inspiring grip and riding until the last mile.

The DIABLO ROSSO™ III can satisfy even the most demanding riders who want a sport bike tyre capable of guaranteeing great handling, excellent levels of grip, and high performance to the end of tyre life. More specifically, DIABLO ROSSO™ III is dedicated in particular to motorcyclists who love to ride their motorcycle quickly and aggressively.
