Suzuki to attend Staffordshire Classic Motorcycle show

Suzuki GB is delighted to be attending the annual Classic Motorcycle Mechanics show at the Staffordshire County Showground, and will again be bringing an array of iconic production and race bikes to the event, which takes place on 14-15 October.

Showcasing Suzuki’s racing heritage will be both of Barry Sheene’s world championship-winning RG500s, the 1976 and 1977 machines recently restored to their former glory by former Grand Prix technicians Martyn Ogborne and Nigel Everett. The restorations of both machines were also aided by Suzuki’s Vintage Parts Programme, with many parts carrying over to the production RG500.

From the same era will be the 1976 Manx Grand Prix Senior race-winning TR500, and a Crooks Suzuki T20 – the first Suzuki to appear at the Manx Grand Prix.

Moving forward in time, Suzuki will also display Kevin Schwantz’s 1989 Pepsi Suzuki RGV500, along with his Lucky Strike-sponsored, 1993 world-championship-winning bike and his 1994 machine. Also in Lucky Strike colours will be a full-factory RGV250. The newest machine on display will be Kenny Roberts Junior’s 2000 world championship-winning Telefonica Movistar RGV500.

Further highlighting Suzuki’s Vintage Parts Programme will be the 1985 GSX-R750F, which was restored as part of the firm’s GSX-R 30th anniversary celebrations at Motorcycle Live, while the GSX-R1100, which has been restored by Suzuki’s young apprentices, will also be on display.

Suzuki GB’s aftersales marketing coordinator, Tim Davies, said, “We’re incredibly excited to get back to this year’s Staffordshire show, and this year we will be bringing as many classic bikes and iconic race bikes as we can fit in the lorry! Both the GSX-R750F and GSX-R1100 projects really serve to highlight our Vintage Parts programme, while the refurbishment of Barry Sheene’s 1976 and 1977, world championship-winning RG500s was not only a fantastic thing to do, it again promoted the programme, as some parts carried over to the road bikes.

“We’re also looking forward to seeing the displays from the Kettle Club, the Suzuki Owners’ club, the GT X7 club, Air-Cooled Suzuki and Katana club, and the guys from Robinsons Foundry. Plus, we’re excited to welcome Suzuki Performance Spares to the village area at the show, too.”

The Staffordshire Classic Motorcycle show takes place at the County Showground, located off Weston Road, Stafford, Staffordshire, ST18 0BD, and runs from October 14-15. For further show information, click here.

With its 1200cc High Torque Bonneville engine with distinctive Bobber tune, it is selling out in dealerships all over the world. And because Triumph was there from the start with the most powerful and lightweight bikes around, the new Bonneville Bobber has absolute peerless authenticity.

Now taking the Bobber to new heights, Triumph’s Bobber Black delivers much more.

Authentic custom styling, now even more aggressive

With imposing poise, distinguished presence and the iconic Bobber silhouette, the Bobber Black shares the Bobber’s low, muscular and minimalist stance – purposeful, distinctive, and stripped back. Featuring all the classic hallmarks of a Bobber, the Bobber Black’s single seat and hard tail look are teamed with wide flat bars for intuitive handling, minimal bodywork and sculpted Bonneville tank, minimal fenders with centre ridge, and authentic wire spoked wheels.

  • Black anodised brake pedal and footrests
  • Black anodised gear lever
  • Black plated gear linkage

Plus an exquisitely sculpted top yoke, carb-styled twin throttle bodies and gloss black bullet indicators.

Arriving in two alluring colour options, the Bobber Black is available in either a classic gloss Jet Black or a stylish and contemporary Matt Jet Black.

Elegant engineering innovation, now even higher specification

Raising the bar in terms of specification, the Bonneville Bobber Black delivers characterful and class-defining riding dynamics.

Triumph’s highest specification brakes in the Bonneville line up with ABS as standard; the Bobber Black has category leading 310mm twin discs on the front with twin Brembo two-piston calipers and a single rear disc setup with single piston caliper. The suspension also sees an upgrade from the Bobber spec with chunky 47mm Showa cartridge front forks, offering 90mm front wheel travel for improved feel and feedback.  The new “fat” 16-inch front wheel, still with classic wire spokes, black rims, and the specially-developed Avon Cobra tyres, gives the Bobber Black its meaner and more muscular stance.

As well as the considerable specification upgrades, the Bobber Black retains the elegant engineering innovations now synonymous with the Bobber – like the beautiful and distinctive floating aluminium seat pan with cantilever support, the adjustable riding position, the elegant monoshock RSU with linkage, the distinctive ‘swing cage’ for that hard-tail look and the clean line hidden technology packaging.

Accessible for any size of rider, the Bobber Black has a low seat height of just 688mm providing excellent ergonomics and a confidence-inspiring low centre of gravity.

Category defining capability, now with even more technology

The front end of the Bobber Black is transformed with the new 5” full-LED headlight with unique LED daytime running light* pattern (DRL) and charming Triumph maker’s mark triangle branding integrated within the headlight cluster. Longer distance cruising is also easier on the Bobber Black, thanks to cruise control as standard, easily accessible as a single button elegantly moulded into the left-hand switch cube.

Complementing these upgrades are a suite of rider-focused technologies carried over from the Bobber and sensitively incorporated to ensure clean-line packaging – like the Road and Rain riding modes, both delivering full power, and the switchable traction control for maximum safety and rider control. On top of that is the torque assist clutch which reduces pulling effort at the lever to help prevent rider fatigue, the durable and power efficient all-LED lighting (rear light, indicators and number plate light), and  a state of the art immobiliser with transponder incorporated into the premium Triumph badged key for maximum security.

Stylishly minimal and angle adjustable, the Bobber Black’s beautiful single clock has a machined dial face and multi-function display controlled by easily reachable fingertip controls.

As with all Triumphs in the Modern Classics range, the new Bonneville Bobber Black is liquid-cooled, reducing emissions and offering a high first major service interval of 10,000 miles (16,000 Km). For added piece of mind, it also features the latest immobiliser with the transponder fitted into the premium Triumph badged key.

Suzuki launches new 3% hire purchase deal across small bike range

Suzuki has launched a new hire purchase finance deal on its range of small bikes, which means the new GSX-R125 can be ridden away from as little as £89.28 per month over 36 months, with no final balloon payment and a deposit of £1,000.

However, as part of the same offer, customers can also put down a minimum deposit of just £33, making it even easier to ride away on one of Suzuki’s small capacity machines. With the minimum £33 deposit the new GSX-S125 can be enjoyed for as little as £108.67, also over three years.

Suzuki’s expansion of its small capacity range for 2017 has also been bolstered by the arrival of the new V-Strom 250 and GSX250R, which feature as part of the offer, along with the Burgman 125 and Burgman 200.

The newest member of the V-Strom family can be owned for £107.39 per month, while the GSX250R can be had for £98.67, both over three years with a £1,000 deposit.

Suzuki GB national sales manager, Jonathan Martin, said, “There were already lots of reasons to buy a new GSX-R or GSX-S125 – class leading power-to-weight ratios and acceleration performance just two of them. However, our new offer makes ownership an even more attractive and affordable proposition. We understand stretching to a big deposit or final repayment is not always possible for a typical 125 rider, so a £33 deposit and three-year deal hopefully helps new owners. However, if you are able to find more or have a trade-in valued at £1000, this can help bring those monthly repayments down, too. A straightforward hire purchase agreement means customers will fully own the machine at the end of the agreement, while the standard three-year warranty available will mean owners are fully covered for the full finance period, too.”

Suzuki proud to be sole manufacturer fitting MASTER security kits to 125cc machines

Suzuki is proud to be the only manufacturer fitting the industry-standard, Datatag MASTER security scheme kits to its 125cc machinery, including the brand new GSX-R125 and GSX-S125.

The GSX-R125 and GSX-S125 join the Burgman 125, VanVan 125, and Address 110 in Suzuki’s 125cc-and-below range, with the Japanese brand setting itself apart from its competitors as the only major manufacturer fitting MASTER security kits to bikes in this sector of the market.

The MASTER security scheme is already proven to greatly reduce the risk of motorcycle theft, thanks to the tagging and marking of major components, making the identification of stolen motorcycles much easier. Featuring state of the art technology, the scheme includes new ‘stealth’ UV etching, Datatag transponders, and Datadot technology, as well as registration on a secure, Police-approved database.

Suzuki GB marketing manager, Rob Cooper, commented, “The reduction of bike theft is something that we at Suzuki are heavily committed to and want to help achieve. Bike theft is a big factor in people leaving motorcycling for good, when owners simply don’t replace their stolen machine. We want to help owners and riders of all of our models be safer and protect their pride and joy, whether that’s a GSX-R1000, V-Strom 650, or a smaller capacity model, such as the new GSX-R125 and GSX-S125. A machine’s capacity will make no difference to an opportunist thief, so it makes no difference to us; we want to help protect all of our bikes and customers, and we’re very proud to be the only major manufacturer taking this approach.”

Piaggio MP3 – The Jam-Busting King Just Got More Affordable

In 2006 Piaggio continued its long tradition of innovation with the introduction of the MP3, the first parallel tilting 3-wheel scooter. 200,000 bikes later and the Piaggio MP3 has become a familiar sight in cities around the world, leading the way in the trike market.

Its status as a tricycle allows car drivers aged 21 or over* to enjoy the same jam-busting freedom and economies as scooter and motorcycle riders, but with the added stability of a third wheel.

Now, just as car travel gets more time-consuming and public transport more expensive, the MP3 gets more affordable.  New MP3s registered between 15th September and 31st October 2017 will come with one year’s fully comprehensive insurance at a fixed price of £199.**

In addition, Piaggio 3Dom PCP finance at 6.9% APR is available on all MP3 models, making it possible to put a new MP3 Yourban on the road for less than £80 a month***

The Piaggio MP3 consists of four models in two body styles, with punchy and economical Euro-4 engines and “twist and go” automatic transmission.

The really clever part of an MP3 is the patented, twin-wheel front suspension, which mimics the riding sensations of a regular scooter.  Picture a slalom skier’s legs as they negotiate a course and you will get a feel for how the system works.  When the MP3 comes to a stop, the suspension roll lock system allows the rider to stay seated, with their feet on the footboards, ready for a quick getaway.

The MP3 range is in showrooms now and consists of:

  • MP3 Yourban 300 Sport at £6,499 on the road
  • MP3 300 Business at £7,499 on the road
  • MP3 500 Sport at £8,699 on the road
  • MP3 500 Special Edition at £8,699 on the road

Notes:

* Although not required by law, Piaggio recommends that car drivers without scooter or  motorcycle experience undertake suitable training before riding an MP3.

** Riders aged 25 or over.  Subject to acceptance by Lexham Insurance Ltd.  Terms and conditions apply.

The Kawasaki Z900 is unleashed for A2 riders

Since its introduction in late 2016, the middleweight supernaked Kawasaki Z900 has become a sales success, winning over thousands of riders with its no-nonsense attitude, Refined Raw Sugomi design plus willing, responsive riding experience and now there is an A2 variant of the Z900 joining the model line for 2018.

The decision to create an A2 version was logical given the sheer number of riders that this licence category is now applicable to. Equally, dealer comments and customer feedback group results both said the same thing: “Don’t make an A2 bike different, it has to share the same looks, attitude and personality of the current Z900.”

That’s why the 70kW-variant Z900 shares the vast majority of its look and specification with its sibling and the 2018 70kW version carries no badges or markings to set it apart from the full power Z900. It also incorporates the same rider features such as a tuned airbox assembly to deliver a thrilling intake sound, along with assist and slipper clutch technology, a lightweight and responsive tubular trellis chassis plus Kawasaki’s characteristic horizontal back-link suspension.

Because this Z900 is tuned to give a maximum of 70kW in line with the demands of A2 compliance, this version of the Z900 can also be adjusted to provide a maximum of 35kW, again to comply with A2 restrictions and the needs of motorcycle training schools.

Making the switch between 70kW and 35kW is as simple taking the bike to an authorised Kawasaki dealer for an adjustment to the ECU. The adjustment is neither time consuming or irreversible so when the time comes, it is possible to revert to 70kW again via a short visit to the authorised dealer who will also create and update a record of the status of the machine.

Morihiro Ikoma, Director of Kawasaki Motors Europe, said:

Soon after the Z900 was launched we began work on an A2 compliant version.

The design brief from potential customers and dealers was a unified voice; keep the look, soul and ethos of the Z900 and create an A2 compliant version to open the world of Refined Raw Z to yet more enthusiastic riders.

“At 948cc this A2 compliant Z900 is bound to become one of the most appealing A2 offerings in the market.

The Inclement Weather Did Not Stop The Passion For Moto Guzzi

The passion for Moto Guzzi was victorious once again in this edition of Open House, despite the falling rain throughout the weekend that was unable to extinguish the love for the Eagle brand that animates the soul of every Guzzista. 15 thousand arrived in Mandello del Lario from every corner of Europe to celebrate one of the most noble and beloved motorcycle brands in the world.

96 years after its birth, Moto Guzzi is in its second youth thanks to the success of the strategies enacted by the Piaggio Group on the new products, accessories and lifestyle, as well as all the activities conducted for the purpose of spreading the Moto Guzzi culture, a brand that has always been proudly Italian.

Thousands reached the Mandello plant astride their bikes, participating in the Open House with the most activities ever for the public, first and foremost including tours of the production lines (where all Moto Guzzi bikes have always been hand built) and the Museum, the historical heritage of Moto Guzzi that houses more than 150 motorcycles. From the GP of its origins to the MGS-01, going through the first Normale produced in 1921, the Museum collection is a true cult path dedicated to the fans, as is the magnificent Wind Tunnel, the first in the motorcycle field.

At the centre of the Moto Guzzi Village, in the heart of the plant, the music of Virgin Radio alternated with entertainment led by Ringo. The special guest was Gianfranco Guareschi, the rider who rode his Moto Guzzi MGS-01 to victory in the prestigious Battle of the Twins on the Daytona and the recent winner of the Vintage Endurance 4 hours in Imola astride a Le Mans. Refreshments were provided by the Foodit’s truck, serving quality gourmet dishes made on site in the best Italian tradition. The Proraso station was also fully booked, where an authentic “Barber Shop” was set up to offer top shelf shaving services free of charge to the bikers.

But just as popular was the music made by the V-twin engines in the fleet of bikes that were available for the 250-plus test rides taken: forty-five bikes representing the entire current Moto Guzzi range.

The stars of the festivities were the V7 and V9 units. This year V7 celebrates the first 50 years from the 1967 model. To celebrate this legend, Moto Guzzi made all four models in the range available for a test ride, including the exclusive V7 III Anniversario version. A photo set was also reserved for V7 owners where they were able to have a photo taken to apply on the commemorative certificate dedicated to them.

The other star of the weekend was the special V9 Bobber “Open House” version, created specifically for the event with a selection of prestigious components from the vast official accessories catalogue. This kit will be available at the end of September, included in the sticker price of the V9 Bobber. Thanks to collaboration with Poste Italiane (the Italian Post Office), all of the Open House participants received two special post cards with an exclusive postmark expressly created for the event.

The creations made by the best Italian customizers on Moto Guzzi bases proved to be a of great interest. These were ultra refined specials that have already been featured on Lord of The Bikes, the highly successful talent TV show that airs on Sky Uno HD.

The official community, The Clan , is a testament to the sense of belonging evoked by the big Moto Guzzi family. In fact, this weekend, community membership exceeded the 18,000 mark.

And so, the three-day celebration dedicated to the most beautiful Italian bikes came to an end and our thanks goes to the Mandello del Lario Comitato Motoraduno Internazionale (International Bike Rally Committee) which managed all the activities outside the factory during Open House 2017.

Triumph’s Moto2 2019 Season Race Engine Development Update

A major step in Triumph’s Moto2TM 2019 season race engine development programme came last week with the second track test at the Ciudad del Motor de Aragón. Following on from the extensive factory test programme, Julian Simon, 2009 125cc World Champion, Moto2TM runner-up and experienced Moto2TM test rider, put the Triumph engine development prototype through its paces.

Coming mid-way through the engine development programme, this successful track shake down test provided essential data input into the performance and durability evaluation programme. Initial feedback from the test shows that the development programme is progressing positively and that we are well on schedule for the handover in June 2018 of the first batch of Moto2TM  race engines.

In regards to power, torque and durability, we are ahead of our expectations and during the track session saw excellent results, with the bike delivering good, consistent and competitive lap times.

Steve Sargent, Chief Product Officer for Triumph Motorcycles, said; “At this stage of the development programme we are in a good place. We are very pleased with the pace that Julian is showing with the latest engine and his feedback has been very positive. We have confidence that we will deliver an engine that the teams will enjoy racing with and a spectacle and sound that will excite the fans.”

Julian Simon, 2009 125cc World Champion, Moto2TM runner-up and experienced Moto2TM test rider said “I am really happy to be here in Aragón testing the development of the 2019 Moto2 engines with Triumph. I can see there has been a big improvement with the latest engine, giving a great feeling. There’s a lot of power and the gearing is fantastic, and for the sound, this is also fantastic. To me, it’s fun.”

This testing update follows on from the announcement of Triumph Motorcycles as the exclusive engine supplier to the FIM Moto2TM World Championship from the 2019 season onwards.

With a three-year contract with Dorna – the commercial rights holder of MotoGPTM – Triumph are to supply a dedicated race tuned 765cc Triumph triple engine, based on the powerplant from the all-new 2017 Triumph Street Triple.

The new engine is a significant development of the race-winning Daytona 675R powerplant that has powered supersports wins at the Isle of Man TT, Daytona 200 and British Supersports Championships in 2014 and 2015.

Based on the highest specification 765cc powerplant from the Street Triple RS it has been developed for Moto2TM with the following modifications;

  • Modified cylinder head with revised inlet and exhaust ports for optimised gas flow
  • Titanium valves and stiffer valve springs for increased rpm
  • Low Output race kit alternator for reduced inertia
  • Taller 1st gear ratio
  • Race developed slipper clutch which will be tuneable
  • Specific race ECU; which will be developed with Magneti Marelli
  • Revised engine covers for reduced width
  • Different sump to allow for improved header run

The engine

Based on the new 2017 Street Triple powerplant, the Triumph Moto2TM 765cc triple engine has been developed and tuned for a major step up in power and torque.

In ‘road’ set-up the new 765cc engine delivers the highest ever level of performance for a Street Triple; delivering power of 123PS @ 11,700rpm and 77Nm Torque @ 10,800rpm.

It has more than 80 new parts compared to the previous generation engine, including an increase to the bore and stroke. All-new engine components include;

  • new crank
  • new pistons
  • new con-rods and balancer shaft
  • Nikasil plated aluminium barrels
  • Revised gearbox

The race specification Triumph 765cc Moto2TM engine has been developed further to allow the engine to breathe more freely and rev harder than the production bike; increasing overall performance. Other changes have been made specifically to adapt the engine for race use.

Desmosedici Stradale: a V4 for the Ducati sport bikes of tomorrow

Out of the experience gained in MotoGP, where the 4-cylinder Desmosedici unleashes incomparable performance, comes a new 90° V4 engine designed to power the Ducati supersport models of tomorrow. In transferring the technology of its most cutting-edge power unit from racetrack to road, Ducati offers customers performance levels honed by years of MotoGP experience.

Called the Desmosedici Stradale, this engine is set to become yet another Ducati milestone: it will be the first time ever that the Bologna-based motorcycle manufacturer has equipped a standard production bike with a 4-cylinder engine.

The official unveiling took place in Misano during the San Marino and Rimini Riviera GP, the thirteenth round of the 2017 MotoGP championship. A perfectly natural setting for the presentation, as MotoGP is the proving ground from which the new engine has drawn experience, technology and grit.

“It’s with undiluted pride that we unveil this technological gem. It represents the start of a new chapter for our company, underlining our vitality and an unshakeable commitment to investment in new products”, stated Claudio Domenicali, Ducati’s CEO, during the presentation of the Desmosedici Stradale. “This engine also highlights the close collaboration between Ducati Corse and the factory bike development team, proving just how instrumental racing can be in developing the technology that is later applied on production bikes. In November, at EICMA, we’ll be showcasing the new Panigale V4, an all-new motorcycle powered by this extraordinary engine”.

While the Desmosedici Stradale engine is undoubtedly suited to the track, it has also been designed to respond to the needs of the road rider. For example, to maximise mid-range torque – essential for a satisfying road experience – and ensure punchy torque and power at lower revs, the engine has a slightly larger displacement than its MotoGP counterpart (1103 cm³, to be precise). Power output from the Euro 4 compliant engine configuration exceeds 155 kW (210 hp) at 13,000 rpm while maximum torque exceeds 120 Nm (12.2 Kgm) from 8,750 to 12,250 rpm.

An R version with a displacement of less than 1000 cc – which revs higher and is intended more for track use – is currently at the advanced development stage. This will provide the foundation for the homologated version that competes in the Superbike championship, where this engine will be used starting in 2019 (one year on from the launch of the respective road version, as per the Ducati tradition).

As on the Ducati bikes used in racing, the crankshaft is of the counter-rotating type. This reduces the overall gyroscopic effect and makes the bike faster and more agile when changing direction.

The crank pins, offset at 70° as on the Desmosedici GP, involve a Twin Pulse firing sequence that generates easy-to-handle power delivery and optimises out-of-the-corner traction (“Big Bang” effect). This firing sequence also gives the Desmosedici Stradale a unique signature sound.
A 90° V4 configuration makes the engine extremely compact, allowing centralisation of mass and smoothing incorporation on the vehicle. The Desmosedici Stradale has, in fact, been inserted on the motorcycle with the front cylinders banked 42° back from the horizontal, just like the Ducati engines employed in MotoGP. This, of course, optimises weight distribution, allows the adoption of larger radiators and brings the swingarm pivot point forwards.
Its architecture also evens up first order forces naturally without the added weight and power loss that a balancing countershaft would involve.

As in MotoGP, the engine was designed with an 81 mm cylinder bore. This measurement reflects the maximum limit allowed by MotoGP rules; it’s also the highest in the 4-cylinder supersport segment.
Using the same bore as the Desmosedici GP engine means both power units share nearly identical in-engine fluid dynamics (i.e. on valves, intake ducts and throttle bodies, right where the power is produced).

Needless to say, the new engine is designed around the Desmodromic system, a key characteristic that helps make Ducati prototypes the fastest in MotoGP. On this high-revving engine the “Desmo” system achieves a degree of sophistication, lightness and compactness never before seen on a Ducati.

Variable-height air intake horns constitute another first for a Ducati factory bike, optimising cylinder intake across the rev range and giving significant advantages in terms of power delivery and handling. Completing the fuelling system are the oval throttle bodies, each equipped with two injectors: one above the butterfly and one below it.

This package of cutting-edge technical solutions – absolutely unique within the Supersport segment – makes the Desmosedici Stradale an engine like no other in the motorcycle world.

Main technical data:
  • 1,103 cm³ 4-cylinder 90-degree V
  • Bore x stroke 81 x 53.5 mm
  • Compression ratio 14:1
  • Maximum power exceeds 210 hp at 13,000 rpm
  • Maximum torque exceeds 120 Nm from 8,750 to 12,250 rpm
  • Counter-rotating crankshaft
  • Twin Pulse firing sequence, crank pins offset at 70°
  • Euro 4 emissions
  • Desmodromic part chain, part gear timing with dual overhead camshaft, 4 valves per cylinder
  • Wet multiplate anti-patter servo clutch
  • Semi-dry sump lubrication with four oil pumps: 1 delivery and 3 return
  • Fuelling with four oval throttle bodies (52 mm diameter equivalent) and variable-height intake horns
  • 6-speed gearbox with DQS up/down system
  • 24,000 km “Desmo-service” maintenance interval (15,000 miles)

Triumph Motorcycles – Test Ride to Win bespoke Rega turntable

Triumph Motorcycles – Test Ride to Win bespoke Rega turntable 1One of only two Bonneville Street Cup-inspired Rega record players up for grabs as part of new Triumph Motorcycles promotion

Triumph Motorcycles will give away a bespoke record player, created in partnership with legendary British turntable maker Rega, as part of a new test ride promotion.

Inspired by the café racer leanings of Triumph’s Street Cup model, the turntable was unveiled on Tuesday night alongside an exclusive vinyl album at a closed-door gig attended by 200 specially invited guests.

The record deck and vinyl album, pressed by music partner Flying Vinyl, were created to celebrate the iconic heritage of Triumph’s Street family of bikes.

Now one of the decks will be handed to one lucky rider who books a test ride on one of Triumph’s modern classics during the month of September.

At Tuesday’s event, held at The Bike Shed in Shoreditch, the iconic British motorcycle brand displayed some of its Street family of bikes, including the Street Twin, Bonneville T100 and Street Scrambler.

But it was the Street Cup, with its roots firmly in the café racer culture of the ‘60s that typically came with a rock ‘n’ roll soundtrack, that took centre stage.

Among the guests at the gig were fans invited by Triumph’s partners, as well as the brand’s own social channels, plus motorcycle and music press.

Entertaining the crowd were three of the rising British rock bands that featured on the vinyl album – Bloody Knees, the Bay Rays and The Jar Family. In total, 10 up-and-coming young bands feature on the vinyl, of which only 500 numbered copies were pressed.

Triumph GB general manager, Paul Lilly, said: “Triumph’s history includes a rich pedigree in the British café racer scene inspiring models in the modern embodiment of that element of our story.

“So it has been great to celebrate that heritage and support some exciting new British bands in the process.

“Hopefully we have been able to not only give some home-grown talent some much-deserved visibility but inspired people to get on one of our stylish modern classics at the same time.”

Triumph launches money back promotion for modern classics buyers

Buyers of bikes from Triumph ’s modern classics range are being offered the chance to win back their money this Autumn.

Anyone who purchases a modern classic motorcycle* between last Friday (August 18) and the end of October will go into the ‘Classic Kickback’ draw, with one buyer being handed back the purchase price of their bike and any accessories or clothing bought at the same time.

Triumph’s modern classics range features some of the legendary brand’s most iconic motorcycles, from the Street Twin range starting at £7,750 and the brutally beautiful £10,600 Bonneville Bobber to the Thruxton R, which starts at £12,200.

The lucky owner who will win back the cost of their bike will be selected in early November.

Paul Lilly, Triumph GB general manager, said: “Our modern classics range combines truly authentic character and beautiful styling with modern performance and engineering.

“These bikes are very much the best of every world and now is the time to buy one, because there’s a chance you could be getting one for free.”
