Special Liveries for the Official WorldSBK and MotoGP Teams for the Misano Races

The return of Giallo Ducati: special liveries for the official WorldSBK and MotoGP teams for the Misano races.

Ducati pays tribute to its history in the world of racing by announcing that both the official WorldSBK (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati Team) and MotoGP (Ducati Lenovo Team) teams will compete in the Misano rounds of their respective World Championships with a special livery characterized by the return of Giallo Ducati colour.

The project was presented during a press conference held at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli in which Centro Stile Ducati Director Andrea Ferraresi took part together with the Italian designer Aldo Drudi, the man who created the special livery . The unveiling for the fans took place shortly before the formation lap of Race-1 of the Italian WorldSBK round, when the Aruba.it Racing – Ducati Team opened the garage door and the official riders, World Champion Alvaro Bautista and teammate Michael Ruben Rinaldi, entered the track astride their respective Panigale V4 R in Giallo Ducati with race suits coordinated with the shades of the bike.

Yellow is a colour that has an important tradition in the history of the Bologna-based motorcycle manufacturer. The first sport motorcycles in this colour date back to the first half of the ’70s (the 750 Sport and 750 SS Desmo of the Spaggiari team), but it was in the ’90s that Giallo Ducati, the colour that specifically inspired this livery, had the moment of greatest popularity with the adoption in the world of racing, which then extended to series production. The memorable models in Giallo Ducati certainly include the Ducati 748, whose racing version took Paolo Casoli to victory in the 1997 edition of the Supersport World Series, without forgetting superbikes such as the 916, 996, 749, 999 and other various models in the range.

“Ducati has an extraordinary history of which its passionate fans are extremely proud. The yellow colour is an important part of this and we have chosen to celebrate it through a contemporary livery full of energy. – declared Andrea Ferraresi, Ducati Centro Stile Director – Colour is an essential ingredient for brand recognition and a fundamental element for all Ducatisti. Ducati is Red, but Yellow also belongs to us and at the same time has an important tradition in Italian motorsport. Giallo Ducati reflects important aspects of our identity, such as energy, enthusiasm and audacity and is a really nice tribute to our sporting history in the year in which we race as World Champions in the two most important motorcycle championships”.

From a chromatic point of view, the livery of the Panigale V4 R of the Aruba.it Racing – Ducati Team has been designed starting from the original graphic base. Giallo Ducati becomes the dominant colour of the bike and is crossed by black, grey and white blocks and lines, creating a combination that celebrates the sporting history of the Bologna-based motorcycle manufacturer, but at the same time gives Giallo Ducati a modern identity.

Guaranteed fun with the Hypermotard 950 RVE

Guaranteed fun with the Hypermotard 950 RVE and the new Graffiti Livery Evo livery.

The Hypermotard 950 is Bologna’s fun bike designed for all enthusiasts who want to be the protagonists of adrenaline-pumping adventures together with their bike. Sporty and fun, the Hypermotard combines exuberant performance with refined electronics that guarantee full control in every situation.

Inspired by the world of supermotards, the Hypermotard 950 is a bike with a young character that makes fun its main feature. The aggressive look invites you to get on the saddle for a riding experience of pure pleasure, supported by the latest generation Ducati technology.

For 2024, the Hypermotard 950 RVE version changes its look and is updated with new graphics called Graffiti Livery Evo.

The new livery uses water decals with the aim of obtaining a refined and complex graphic design which, as for the previous livery, is inspired by works of street art. The graphics involve the entire bike, thus creating an effect comparable to that of airbrush painting. The RVE logo, placed on the rear sides, is a further detail that identifies the new Graffiti Livery Evo livery.

The Hypermotard 950 transmits lightness and essentiality thanks to its clean shapes and taut lines. The reference to the supermotard world can be found in the high double exhaust, in the straight saddle profile and in the extreme proportions of the bike, which communicate agility and adrenaline, even when stationary. In addition to the RVE version in Graffiti Livery Evo, the Hypermotard family is made up of the standard 950 version, available in Ducati Red, and the SP version. The latter further accentuates the sporty character of the Hypermotard thanks to its Öhlins suspension with increased travel, forged Marchesini wheels and Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) Up and Down EVO as standard (the latter also standard on the Hypermotard 950 RVE).

The modern and sophisticated electronic sector of the Hypermotard 950 is made up of ABS Cornering Bosch EVO, integrated with the Slide by Brake function which allows controlled powersliding when entering corners in safety, and Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) EVO, which can always be monitored by the 4.3” TFT display. The rider is also free to customise his riding styles and restore the operating parameters set by Ducati on the three Riding Modes Sport, Touring and Urban.

The Hypermotard family is equipped with the 937 cc Ducati Testastretta 11° twin-cylinder engine which reaches 114 hp at 9,000 rpm, while 80% of the torque is available at 3,000 rpm. All versions of the range – Hypermotard 950, 950 SP and 950 RVE – are available in depowered 35 KW versions, ideal for A2 license holders.

Accessories for Hypermotard 950
The style of your Hypermotard 950 can be made even more dynamic thanks to the Style and Sport packages and the numerous Ducati Performance accessories, designed to enhance the fun-bike’s aesthetics and versatility. From the homologated Termignoni silencers with titanium sleeve of the Sport package to the carbon fibre tank guard of the Style package, passing through the passenger grab handles and the soft tank bag: every Ducatista can choose and view their favourite accessories in the “Configurator” section of the Ducati.com website.
To reflect the energetic soul of the Hypermotard 950 in full Ducati style, a wide range of suits, jackets and helmets is available on the website Shop.Ducati.com, ready to satisfy the needs and tastes of all enthusiasts.

Hypermotard protagonist of the DRE
Young motorcyclists who ride depowered versions are at the centre of the DRE Rookie, the DRE Academy course that teaches them to acquire a safe and enjoyable riding style, bringing the concept of safety in the saddle to young people. The Hypermotard 950 and the SP version are also the protagonists of the DRE Road, the exclusive course that combines theory lessons and practice on the track to hone one’s riding skills.

Even more style for the Monster range with the new Iceberg White livery

With a sporty engine, rich in torque and perfect for road use, the Monster is Ducati’s naked sports bike par excellence. A bike for everyone, which guarantees ease of riding without any compromise in terms of fun and performance.

Ideal for those approaching the world of two wheels for the first time as well as for already expert motorcyclists, the Monster combines compactness and lightness in a modern formula that renews the naked sports concept invented by Ducati. High-level performance, always manageable thanks to cutting-edge electronics, is combined with a modern and elegant style. At the same time, the Monster retains the DNA of the first generation of 1993: the Testastretta 11° engine combined with a frame that follows Superbike concepts, the aluminium Front Frame inspired by the Panigale V4. Everything you need to have fun on your motorbike.

For 2024  Ducati has updated the colour range of the Monster with the Iceberg White livery, which is added to the Ducati Red and Aviator Grey colours. The new livery is also available for the Plus version, characterized by the addition of a front fairing and passenger seat cover that make the Monster even sportier.

The new livery enhances the essential and clean lines of the Monster thanks to the combination of cold white Iceberg White and Ducati Red chosen for the seat finish; the combination of the two colours creates a refined and contemporary look. A sporty touch is given by the red tags on the wheels.

The Monster makes lightness one of its strengths. Each component has been designed to have the lowest possible weight, from the aluminium Front Frame to the tail fixed directly to the engine, for an overall reduction of weight of 18 Kg compared to the previous generation. The result is a nimble and compact motorcycle, capable of moving easily in traffic and at the same time guaranteeing full control in every situation.

The ease of riding the Monster is supported by a comfortable position, designed to make the rider always feel at home. The 820 mm height of the saddle from the ground and the narrow sides of the bike allow you to rest your feet easily on the ground, while the position of the footrests and handlebars facilitates relaxation of the torso and legs. A comfortable riding set-up that multiplies the possibilities of having fun at any riding level.

The modern and sophisticated design focuses on the essential and enhances the distinctive features of the Monster. While the front view of the bike is dominated by the full LED projector, the rear instead sees a short and sporty tail, with two painted side panels inspired by the Panigale V4. In the centre, the Monster’s unmistakable curved and muscular fuel tank.

The electronics of the Monster are of the latest generation. The standard equipment includes ABS Cornering, Traction Control and Wheelie Control, adjustable on different levels of intervention; all the useful information for riding is clearly visible on the 4.3” colour TFT display. The sporty nature of the Monster is also enhanced by the presence of Launch Control, which allows MotoGP-style starts.

The engine is a Desmodromic Testastretta 11° twin-cylinder Euro 5 approved, with valve clearance checking and adjustment only to be carried out every 30,000 km. The maximum power and torque values are respectively 111 hp at 9,250 rpm and 93 Nm at 6,500 rpm. For A2 licence holders, the Monster is also available in a depowered 35 kW version. Reliable and ready in its power delivery, the Monster’s engine can be adapted to the needs of each rider thanks to the three Ducati Riding Modes: Sport, Touring and Urban.

Every enthusiast can choose to customise their Monster thanks to a wide range of Ducati Performance accessories, from the Termignoni approved silencer to the engine guard or racing licence plate holder. All the accessories, made with high quality components, can be consulted in the “Configurator ” section on the website Ducati.com, together with a wide range of helmets, jackets and trousers: everything required to meet the needs of every Monsterista and ride the motorcycle safely and with style.

The 2023 calendar for DRE Road, the exclusive Ducati riding course with top instructors and which includes the Monster range among the motorcycle models provided, is also available on the website Ducati.com.

Ducati Riding Experience Academy’s first UK event heralded a stunning success

The world-famous Ducati Riding Experience made its UK debut this week at the legendary Silverstone circuit with 60 participants taking to the UK’s fastest racing circuit.

In collaboration with Silverstone Circuit, the first Ducati Riding Experience Academy (DRE) in the UK took place from the 16th to the 18th of May and saw 60 participants enjoy an exclusive track experience alongside celebrity instructors including Michele Pirro, Karel Abraham, Chaz Davies, Alex De Angelis, Ferruccio Lamborghini and, of course, the DRE Chief Instructor Dario Marchetti, directly from Ducati HQ in Bologna.

The exclusive DRE has visited racetracks around the world and is best-known for being based on the best racing circuits in Italy. This event was the UK’s first taste of a track experience that is much more than a normal track day.
The comprehensive three-day package included two nights at the Hilton Garden Inn Silverstone and the ultimate motorcycle track experience with Panigale V4 hire inclusive.

Using a combination of DRE and Silverstone’s own instructors, exclusive groups of just five riders among media, top customers, and fans were able to benefit from close supervision and tuition which even included a track walk with instructors the evening before riding.
The experience was fully catered with meals throughout the three-day event and the famous Silverstone Wing pit complex was used as a base for the track riding.

DRE offers a variety of different levels: more experienced riders can sample the maximum performance of the race-bred Ducati Panigale V4 at the Advance course, while less experienced riders can join the Intermediate level to help build confidence under expert tuition.

The DRE at Silverstone was just the first of a series of new Ducati UK events as part of a Riding Experiences calendar for 2023. To complete the riding experiences portfolio, Ducati UK is also delighted to announce additional Ducati Track Days for 2023.
The first Ducati Track Day in 2023 will kick off at Donington Park GP circuit on the 23rd of May, followed by the Silverstone GP circuit on the 27th of June 2023.

Taking to the track surrounded by fellow Ducatisti, the Ducati Track Days offer an unmissable experience for any Ducati owner, from track novices, to experienced veterans and everyone in between.

Fabrizio Cazzoli, Managing Director, Ducati UK “We’re all delighted the first DRE held in the UK has been such a great success. It was fantastic to be able to see so many riders out on track on their Ducati machines, enjoying the UK’s fastest racing circuit at Silverstone.
The racetrack has always been at the very core of Ducati DNA and this kind of experience allows riders to explore the performance and Ducati technology to the ultimate level.
DRE Racetrack is the most refined format, where together with Ducati top instructors and the most premium hospitality you can have a truly unique experience, while the Ducati Track days offer the opportunity to enjoy a day on the track together with a wide community of Ducati owners.”

Diavel V4: more grunt and style thanks to Ducati Performance accessories

The Diavel V4, star of the sixth episode of the Ducati World Première 2023, shows itself dressed in the Style, Sport and Touring packages.

Three proposals designed to enhance the different souls of the Ducati muscle cruiser.

With its refined style and muscular and elegant lines, the new Ducati Diavel V4 is in fact the perfect synthesis between a maxi sport naked and a muscle cruiser, as powerful in its design as it is effective and comfortable to ride, capable of winning over riders with its agilitỳ and manoeuvrability, but also for its marked aptitude for medium range touring thanks to its great comfort for rider and passenger.

The Sport package includes a selection of accessories designed to enhance the powerful and muscular character of the Diavel V4. The billet aluminium tank cap retains its original appearance over time thanks to high-quality anodising and is equipped with an anti-tampering system with a key bearing the Ducati shield to guarantee the perfect combination of security, functionality and style.

The carbon fibre of the front mudguard and tank cover, together with the street-legal exhaust cover that completes the equipment, are details that enhance the contemporary elegance of this muscle cruiser. The Diavel V4 is then further enhanced by the Style package, consisting of carbon fibre rear mudguard and a series of Ducati by Rizoma accessories such as levers, mirrors, brake and clutch fluid reservoir covers and oil filler cap in billet aluminium.

Finally, the gritty red- or black-coloured front brake calipers are of great impact. Created in collaboration with Brembo, they retain the braking characteristics of the standard ones but are finished with a special paint that is resistant to high temperatures. Character, quality and care for design come together in the ideal accessory to make the bike even more iconic.

The Touring package, on the other hand, is dedicated to Ducatisti who want to savour the taste of the journey in the saddle of the Diavel V4. A set of heated grips, pair of semi-rigid side bags and rear passenger backrest maximise comfort, leaving rider and passenger free to enjoy every curve and every sight throughout the journey. In particular, the side cases mount on integrated attachments, preserving the aesthetics and stylistic cleanliness of the Diavel, and can become waterproof by applying the appropriate cover.

The forged aluminium wheels, characterised by an ultra-modern design and an elegant and refined finish, enhance both the aesthetics and the dynamics of the Diavel V4. The forging process gives lightness and agility to sculptural and muscular forms. The dimensions correspond to the standard ones, i.e. 3.50 “x17” and 8.00 “x17”.

The entire range of accessories is available on Ducati.com, where through the “Configurator” section it will be possible for all Ducatisti to choose their favourite accessories to make their Diavel V4 unique and share them with their nearest dealer.

Turn by Turn navigation system arrives on the DesertX

Exploration, fun and performance. And a great desire to pick up and go. The identity of the DesertX leaves no doubt: it is the first modern Ducati with a 21″ front wheel and has been designed to tackle even the most demanding off-road conditions. Presented in Matt Star Silk colouring, to which the new “RR22” livery has been added, the 2023 model is the first in the Ducati range to introduce the new Turn by Turn navigation system.

The integrated navigator is based on the Ducati Multimedia System, which uses the bike’s TFT cluster instrumentation to display the route guidance calculated by the Ducati Link App. In this way, navigation functions can be exploited without the need for an external device.

It is an official Ducati Performance accessory and can be purchased at Ducati Stores together with the bike or even at a later date, allowing it to be used even by those who already own a DesertX.

The system relies on the Bluetooth connection between the smartphone (iOS or Android) bike and the earphones on the rider’s and passenger’s helmets through the Ducati Multimedia System (accessory to be purchased separately), which shows notifications on the instrument panel regarding phone calls, messages/emails received and listening to music on the smartphone.

To use the Turn by Turn navigation system, the latest version of the Ducati Link App and the user license activation are required. After that, all you have to do is enter one or more destinations for the app to calculate the route according to your preferences (fastest, most efficient, exclusion of toll roads, etc.) and you can start navigating.

The phone can then be placed in your pocket, in a tank bag or on the Ducati Performance mount, without the need to keep the display on. Navigation is carried out with the support of maps, which can be downloaded in advance to reduce data traffic consumption or to get into difficulties in areas with poor signal coverage. By keeping the phone online, however, it is possible to take advantage of real-time traffic indications.

Navigation directions are displayed on the screen, leaving space for riding-relevant information so that safety is not compromised. Also in the interests of safety, the system displays the next turn along with the indication of the approaching turn, so that the driver can prepare well in advance for the manoeuvres to be carried out later. It is also possible to display the speed limits of the stretch being travelled thanks to the data on the maps.

The system makes it possible to choose which indications to receive (visual or visual and auditory, if a connection to the rider’s headset is active) and to record the route together with all data on speed, lean angle and photos taken during the trip, so that the experience can be relived or shared with friends. The system, whose functionality will be constantly evolved in future versions, will also be adoptable on the Diavel V4. Map coverage is already extensive, and will be progressively increased in the coming months with the addition of China, South Korea and Japan.

For more information on how to activate and use the system, see the dedicated video tutorial on Ducati.com.

Multistrada V4 Rally: production of the grand tourer gets underway

Multistrada V4 Rally: production of the grand tourer Ducati gets underway.

Production of the Multistrada V4 Rally, the Ducati designed for lovers of long journeys, already featured in the third episode of the 2023 Ducati World Premiere, has begun at the Borgo Panigale factory. The new bike completes a touring range that has never been so extensive and which was born exactly 20 years ago with the first Multistrada 1000 that marked the opening of Ducati towards the world of travel.

Twenty years during which Multistrada has been able to evolve and renew itself through the 1100, 1200 and 1260, arriving at its fourth generation powered by the new, revolutionary V4 Granturismo. The Multistrada V4 interprets the concept of the Grand Tourer according to the values of Style, Sophistication, Performance that are intrinsic to Ducati’s DNA.

Multistrada introduced several innovations to the Ducati range, such as the Riding Modes and DVT variable valve timing, but it was also the first bike in the world equipped with technological innovations such as the semi-active Skyhook suspension, or more recently the world first of front and rear radar to support Adaptive Cruise Control and Blind Spot Detection systems as well as extended deactivation.

With the “Rally” Ducati takes the globetrotter spirit of the Multistrada V4 to an even higher level, thanks to better comfort for rider and passenger, greater range and a more pronounced off-road aptitude without neglecting performance (170 hp), reliability and running costs, with maintenance intervals every 60,000 km and Oil Service every 15,000 km/24 months thanks to the 1,158 cc V4 Granturismo engine. The new deactivation strategy extends to the entire rear bank even when moving at low speeds, when the engine speed and the torque request from the throttle are low, positively impacting fuel consumption which drops by around 10%.

To tackle unpaved roads even better, this Multistrada can count on semi-active suspension with increased travel of 200 mm, lightened spoked rims, reinforced engine guards, an Enduro Riding Mode with brand new Power Mode dedicated to off-road use, wider rider foot-pegs and an even more precise and efficient Skyhook DSS EVO control strategy in this model.

Comfort improves with particular attention to two-seater use: the windshield has been redesigned (increased by 40 mm in height and 20 mm in width), the tail has been lengthened and the luggage attachment set back to offer more space in the leg area to the passenger, who can also count on footrests with larger rubber inserts to reduce the level of transmitted vibrations. Furthermore, thanks to the availability of different height saddles for both rider and passenger and the lowered suspension kit, the Multistrada V4 Rally can be customized to adapt to any torque configuration. With a view to improving thermal comfort, the air vents in the leg area can now be divided in order to keep the heat released by the engine in the cold seasons.

To further support active safety, the Multistrada V4 Rally also integrates Cornering ABS, which allows you to harness the braking power of its system even when cornering, the Ducati Cornering Lights (DCL), which improve night-time visibility by illuminating the inside of the bend, Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) and Ducati Traction Control (DTC). These systems use the inertial platform (IMU) to optimize intervention based on the lean and pitch angle of the vehicle.

The Multistrada V4 Rally also introduces a brand-new extended deactivation strategy of the rear bank, a technical solution making its debut on a production bike on the world stage. In addition to switching off the rear cylinders at idle when the bike is stationary, a function already present on the Multistrada V4, the V4 Granturismo now keeps the rear cylinder bank deactivated in other operating conditions to the benefit of fuel consumption and emissions.

The 6.5-inch colour TFT dashboard offers map navigation functions thanks to the Ducati Connect application, which supports the use of the telephone, now housed in a ventilated compartment, even to answer calls or listen to music, using a helmet equipped with an intercom system.

The Ducati Multistrada V4 Rally will arrive in dealerships from February 2023 in the two colours of Ducati Red and Brushed Aluminium & Matt Black, the latter with a visible brushed aluminium tank. Both versions have black spoked rims. There are three different versions: Adventure Radar, equipped with Adaptive Cruise Control and Blind Spot Detection functions, Adventure Travel & Radar, which adds aluminium side cases, heated grips and saddles, while the Full Adventure completes the latter equipment with an Akrapovič homologated silencer and front mudguard in carbon fibre.

The Multistrada V4 Rally – like all Ducati Multistradas – is covered by the “4|Ever Ducati” warranty, valid for 4 years with no mileage limit, with roadside assistance included throughout continental Europe.

Ducati’s Electric Chapter gets Underway: Production of MotoE Bikes Begins

Ducati’s electric chapter gets underway: production of MotoE bikes for the 2023 championship begins.

A little more than a year after the first test with Michele Pirro at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, work has begun on the “V21L” prototypes that will be the protagonists of the 2023 FIM Enel MotoE™ World Championship season. The production of the bikes started in December and the 23 units will be ready by mid-February. In addition to the 18 motorbikes that will be raced, five spare units will be made available to the organisation. Each prototype is assembled by expert technicians in the Ducati MotoE Racing Department with the same process, precision and attention to detail typical of the high craftsmanship used to build a MotoGP bike.

The start of production of the “V21L” prototypes represents the beginning of a new and important chapter in Ducati’s history. For the Bologna-based company, this project was born with the aim of developing skills for its future, maintaining the approach that has always fuelled Ducati’s DNA: experimenting with technological solutions in the world of racing and working to ensure that everything developed in this area can then be used on motorbikes destined for enthusiasts all over the world. To do this, Ducati created the world’s most technological, refined and sophisticated electric motorcycle, the result of the joint work of Ducati R&D engineers and the Ducati Corse team. “V21L” is the MotoGP of electric motorbikes, combining the electronic technologies and chassis dimensions developed by Ducati Corse with the design process and project management typical of a road bike like the Panigale V4. It is the combination of the best skills of the two worlds, racing and production, a prototype with which Ducati experiments in a world yet to be discovered, that of electric sports bikes.

Claudio Domenicali, CEO Ducati: “The start of production of the Ducati MotoE is a historic moment for our company, which with this project is thoroughly studying the technologies of the future for the world of motorcycling. It is an important area of experimentation, in which we are investing to build know-how, so that we will be ready when battery technology should allow the creation of an exciting electric road bike with the weight, performance and range that enthusiasts expect from a Ducati. We are therefore embarking on this new adventure with the aim of developing the people and skills within the company to shape what the character of a future Ducati electric road bike might be. The MotoE project represents a decisive step for Ducati to contribute to the reduction of CO2 emissions on the product side, alongside research into synthetic fuels (eFuel) that can reduce the total CO2 emissions of internal combustion engines to zero. Environmental sustainability is something that all individuals and all companies must consider a priority if the delicate balance of the planet is to be preserved. Ducati is committed to this also at industrial level, and the construction of the new Finitura e Delibera Estetica area classified as Nearly Zero Energy Building is just the latest example”.

After a year of development tests that have seen Michele Pirro, Alex De Angelis and Chaz Davies take turns riding the “V21L” prototype, the Ducati MotoE project is getting closer to the moment when the bikes will take to the track. The first test with the riders and teams that will compete in the 2023 World Championship is scheduled for the 6, 7 and 8 March at Jerez, followed by three more test days on the 3, 4 and 5 April at the Montmelò circuit in Barcelona.

The race debut will take place at the French Grand Prix on Saturday, 13 May. The 2023 MotoE World Championship calendar is spread over eight Grands Prix with two races per weekend, both on Saturdays. After the French debut, the MotoE World Championship will be present in all the following European races until the Misano GP, thus will continue at Mugello on the weekend of 11 June, at Sachsenring on the following weekend and at Assen on the 25 June. After the summer break, the Ducati MotoE bikes will return to the track at Silverstone on 5 August, before tackling the final three Grands Prix at the Red Bull Ring (20 August), Catalunya (2 September) and Misano (10 September).

Ducati and Audi together in Sardinia with DesertX and RS Q e-tron

Ducati and Audi together in Sardinia with DesertX and RS Q e-tron for a special event.

The most highly anticipated motorcycle of 2022 and the most surprising rally prototype met in Sardinia for a special event organized in partnership by Ducati and Audi. The new Ducati DesertX and the Audi RS Q e-tron took centre-stage in the first test reserved for the international media, which could also count on the presence of Danilo Petrucci, winner of a stage of the Dakar 2022, and the official Audi drivers/co-drivers Emil Bergkvist, Stéphane Peterhansel, Edouard Boulanger, Carlos Sainz and Lucas Cruz.

To celebrate this event, the Centro Stile Ducati has created an exclusive livery for the DesertX inspired by that of the RS Q e-tron. This special bike was ridden by Petrucci, who put on a show together with the Sainz/Cruz pairing on a technical off-road track.

Andrea Ferraresi, Centro Stile Ducati Director: “When we saw the RS Q e-tron for the first time, we couldn’t help but imagine it in action among the dunes and rocks together with the DesertX. This event gave us the opportunity to do so and so we decided to create an exclusive livery, inspired by the colours and graphics of the Audi prototype. Seeing cars and motorcycles together off-road is truly a great show. The collaboration between the two brands and between their respective Design Centers is strong and important“.

The DesertX is the model with which the Borgo Panigale motorcycle manufacturer enters the mid-displacement enduro segment. The bike is designed to tackle the most demanding off-road and for this reason it is equipped with a 21″ front wheel, 18″ rear wheel, long suspension travel and ample ground clearance. Powered by the 11° Testastretta engine , DesertX guarantees a comfortable, easy and safe ride on every type of journey thanks to the attention paid to ergonomics, careful aerodynamic study and advanced technological equipment.
The safety and performance of the new Ducati model are also guaranteed by the electronic systems, which represent the state of the art in terms of riding assistance. There are 6 Riding Modes available on DesertX (two of which are intended for off-road use: Enduro and Rally), and they work in combination with the 4 Power Modes that modify the power and responsiveness of the engine.

The RS Q e-tron is Audi’s rally prototype to tackle the desert and embodies the purest efficiency. The innovative electric drive with high voltage batteries and energy converter  pushes the limits of what is possible. The RS Q e-tron made its debut in the 2022 Dakar Rally last January and impressed with four stage victories, while in March it achieved his first overall victory at the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge. Audi factory driver driver Carlos Sainz underlined the importance of the model for the motorsport program of the German manufacturer: “What Audi has achieved with this concept is technically unique and a real benefit for us drivers. The event in Sardinia was great to communicate the benefits of the electric drive. All the media were impressed throughout”.

Sainz, Petrucci and all the Audi drivers were greeted enthusiastically by the press during this event which confirmed the great bond and constant collaboration between Ducati and Audi.

The new DesertX, which since its presentation has met with remarkable success, will be available in all European dealerships in the Ducati network from the end of May. The new model is also available in a 35kW depowered version for A2 license holders.

The time has come for bikers to make their wildest travel dreams come true.
