2023 KTM 1290 Super Duke RR – Limited Numbers, Unlimited Fury

Following the roaring success of the KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE RR in 2021, 500 units of the 2023 KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE RR will go into production, promising the same levels of ferocity but with a meaner, darker look.

The KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE RR will once again rip into the Tarmac, leaving a deep, lasting impression as the ultimate limited-edition Hyper Naked motorcycle in the KTM stable. The numbers tell the story – 1,301 cc, 180 hp, 180 kg and 140 Nm, with a phenomenal 1:1 power-to-weight ratio, making it every bit as beastly as its predecessor, but with a darker shadow.

Sporting a gloss black and matt carbon base, contrasting white graphics and striking orange accents, the 2023 KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE RR casts an ominous shadow with menacing intentions. This is further exaggerated with a collection of unique custom-made components which are specific to the RR, adding more aggression and attitude.

With the KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE RR being 11 kg lighter than a standard KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE R EVO, it is equally at home decimating lap times as it is carving up mountain roads, providing riders with the ultimate Hyper Naked package.

However, it’s the collection of WP Suspension’s finest components worn by the 1290 SUPER DUKE RR that take it from a backroad brawler to accomplished track day terror. Upfront, a fully adjustable WP APEX PRO 7548 closed cartridge fork has been tailored specifically for the RR, while a custom-made WP APEX PRO 7746 shock takes charge of the rear. The WP APEX PRO 7117 steering damper keeps things in check, offering 30 clicks to dial it into your specification.

Carbon fibre is used extensively, with the subframe also receiving the lightweight carbon treatment, creating a unique single-seat unit. The LED taillights are incorporated into the LED turn signals, as well as KTM’s adaptive brake light as standard.

As an added extra to enforce the KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE RR exclusivity, owners will be presented with a bespoke carbon fibre box containing the keys to their new BEAST.

For the absolute power-hungry, an Akrapovič EVO line full exhaust system is available as an optional extra, which adds even more bite to THE BEAST.

Notable features on the KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE RR include:

  • 1:1 power-to-weight ratio
  • WP APEX PRO COMPONENTS Suspension
  • Akrapovič Slip-on exhaust
  • Exclusive carbon fiber bodywork
  • Lightweight lithium ion battery
  • Ultra-lightweight forged wheel
  • Carbon fibre subframe with a single seat
  • New, black CTG
  • Limited to only 500 units
  • Unique, branded carbon key box
  • Factory triple clamp
  • Adjustable CNC-machined rearset

Not only impressive when it comes to hardware, the KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE RR boasts the most complete track-orientated electronics pack ever seen on a KTM motorcycle as standard, adding advanced TRACK and PERFORMANCE MODE. While the KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE RR already boasts a full range of exclusive components and bodywork, riders looking for more ferocity can browse a full range of specially developed KTM PowerParts, along with a dedicated range of KTM PowerWear. This includes a custom leather race suit, uniquely finished KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE RR branding and matching design.

The 2023 KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE RR will only be available in Europe and the United Kingdom. Orders open today, 13 March and can only be secured through a select number of authorised KTM dealers.

KTM and BRABUS Continue Collaboration with the Brabus 1300 R Edition 23

KTM and BRABUS continue collaboration with the launch of a brand-new luxury naked bike – The Brabus 1300 R Edition 23.

The first-ever BRABUS 1-Second-Wow effect on two wheels is going dark, with the world premiere of the next chapter in the collaboration between leading European motorcycle manufacturer KTM and world-renowned German luxury mobility brand BRABUS.

Following the luxury mobility brand’s initial entry into the world of exclusive modern motorcycling, this highly limited special edition is the follow-up to the exclusive BRABUS 1300 R released in 2022. A direct evolution of its predecessor, characterised by the best of both brands, new signature features and an entirely unique identity of its own. Production will be limited to 290 units, available in selected markets, opening the door to an elite range of BRABUS Night Riders. Bold. Luxurious. Badass. The BRABUS 1300 R Edition 23.

The BRABUS 1300 R Edition 23 oozes with luxurious design, typical BRABUS attention to detail and ultra-limited exclusivity. Conceptualised to make a statement and merge pure, luxury infused energy with undaunted Naked bike precision. The new Edition 23 represents the very best of both brands in its aggressively elegant looks, functionality and power.

Both returning and enhanced highlight ingredients of the BRABUS design DNA – including two legacy paint schemes, forged BRABUS Monoblock Z wheels, high-end carbon body elements and a stylish bespoke seat, treated with expert attention to detail by the BRABUS interior specialists in Bottrop, Germany – define the motorcycle’s exceedingly unique and sporty character while ensuring an instant 1-Second-Wow factor.

The platform of the BRABUS 1300 R Edition 23 remains the KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE R EVO. As KTM’s evolution in performance-built motorcycles, this model offers the best in cutting-edge riding experiences, uncompromising ergonomics and the bike’s beating heart: an exceptional LC8 V-Twin engine producing 180 hp at 9,500 rpm and 140 Nm of torque at 8,000 rpm out of its 1,301 cc. The BRABUS dual-pipe slip-on exhaust underscores its unmistakable character as well as its massive sound.

The BRABUS 1300 R Edition 23 maintains and expands its ‘Black and Bold’ identity with a collection of new features. A distinctive headlight mask, complete with exposed-carbon side fairing, power domes as well as BRABUS Signature Stripes in the air scoop accentuate the Edition 23’s unique face. Redesigned side panels and air-ducts serve as a further homage to decades of experience in processing prepreg carbon fibre.

In keeping with the design’s sporty, aggressive flair, the ultra-lightweight carbon fibre one-piece undertray now features an all-new pillion seat cover. Adopting design cues of the ignition cover and matching the body colour, this upgrade gives the BRABUS 1300 R Edition 23 a more compact and powerful silhouette. The seat has been reupholstered to feature the BRABUS “Crest” stitching pattern. Finally, all-new handlebar end mirrors were purpose-built to round off the motorcycle’s one-of-a-kind appearance while allowing for precise adjustments.

Inspired by the design of the brand’s fleet of exclusive 1-Second-Wow supercars, the BRABUS 1300 R Edition 23 is also equipped with BRABUS Monoblock Z forged wheels. State-of-the-art manufacturing processes and a brand-new finish in “Platinum Black” ensure a hallmark BRABUS look as well as maximum strength.

To add an extra touch of unique individuality, the BRABUS 1300 R Edition 23 is offered in two definitive colour schemes – “Superblack” and “Stealth Grey”. Production will be limited to 145 units for both variants, available in selected markets.

From a technical standpoint, the BRABUS 1300 R Edition 23 utilises the latest WP APEX semi-active suspension technology. This allows riders to select between six dedicated damping modes – COMFORT, STREET, SPORT, TRACK, ADVANCED – at leisure or in AUTO mode, which automatically adapts to road as well as riding conditions.

Highlight features and bespoke parts include:

// BRABUS Sign of excellence with limited-edition number
// BRABUS Monoblock Z lightweight 9-spoke “Platinum Black” forged wheels
// BRABUS slip-on double-pipe exhaust • BRABUS custom-made heated seat
// BRABUS start-up animation
// BRABUS colour scheme for the dashboard
// UNIQUE black frame

Take The Rougher Road With The Extra Potential Of The Revised 2023 KTM 390 Adventure

The KTM ADVENTURE family has all the performance and travel/adventure segment-leading features a rider will ever need. Sometimes, however, riders just want the most effective and exciting way to get from ‘A to B’, on a motorcycle that entices to an alternative path. This is where the sheer useability, superb power and handling, and engineering of the new spoked wheel 2023 KTM 390 ADVENTURE comes to the fore.

This compact and highly advanced package is one of the most versatile in the KTM range. The 2023 KTM 390 ADVENTURE is not only about the epic outings but also the ‘everyday’. Want that serviceable and dependable machine for the commute but also something that can handle a light offroad blast? No problem. Desire a bike that can still put out the torque and motor performance for a longer weekend ride-out with buddies? Easy. Need a modern, developed, race-informed, A2 compliant all-rounder to discover the delights of a trail for the first time? Look no further.

For 2023 KTM have not only splashed the KTM 390 ADVENTURE with a sharp, fresh look but have also beefed-up the offroad credibility even more. The bike now has tough, light black anodised aluminum rims and spoked wheels – 19” front and 17” rear – so even the rockiest routes of bumps and stones will not hinder or halt the journey home. The introduction of spoked wheels to the 2023 KTM 390 ADVENTURE further adds to existing strenghts to emphasise that ‘adventure’ really can be part of the daily routine.

Elsewhere, the impressively compact 4-stroke 373cc single cylinder engine uses twin overhead camshafts, four valves, a balancer shaft and electronic fuel-injection for smooth and uninterrupted momentum to the beat of 44hp and 37Nm of torque at 7000rpm. Two catalytic converters ensure the system breathes within Euro5 emission targets, while the 14.5-litre fuel tank vapour design also boosts the eco-friendliness of this particular KTM ADVENTURE.

The 2023 KTM 390 ADVENTURE may have smaller dimensions and specs compared to some of its larger siblings but it does not lack the adventure essentials. Ride-by-wire, Motorcycle Traction Control, Cornering ABS, OFFROAD mode (more rear wheel slip) and linked OFFROAD ABS (disengaged on the rear, reduced on the front) are feathered by the 46mm throttle body and the slipper clutch while being administered through the 5” colour TFT and intuitive handlebar switch.

Light weight and unbeatable agility is partly supplied by a chassis that takes its design cues from KTM’s work at the sharp end of rally competition. The KTM 390 ADVENTURE’s ’23 color also comes from this racing background. The steel trellis design and subframe construction achieves a satisfying blend of both feel, flex and long-term comfort; even the wind of the exhaust system is optimised for prime centralisation. WP Suspension APEX hardware is adjustable for compression, rebound and preload and achieves that rare chemistry of tactile grip with the road and confidence-inspiring efficiency for the dirt.

Add bodywork that has been angled to protect zones of the bike and to thrust the rider into full-control stance, a two-tier seat (that can be easily removed to reveal storage space and even swapped out for other models in the KTM PowerParts collection), LED lights, a windshield with two positions and wide ‘all-day’ footpegs, Brembo BYBRE brakes (320 front and 230mm rear discs with four-piston calipers on the front) and the 2023 KTM 390 ADVENTURE is complete. Live adventurously.

2023 KTM 390 ADVENTURE highlights
// New tougher aluminum spoked wheels for robust extra offroad potential and all-round topline performance granted by the CONTINENTAL TKC70 tyres
// Brand new 2023 colour and graphics scheme for fresh vibrant and sporty look
// Dependable 373cc 4-stroke single engine pumping out 44hp at 9000 rpm & 37 Nm of torque at 7000 rpm. Euro5 ready for the best emissions count
// Lightweight and reassuring steel trellis chassis with adjustable WP APEX 43 mm forks and shock
// Bosch electronics helping to inform the latest generation of Motorcycle Traction Control and Cornering ABS systems
// 172 kg fully fuelled, 14.5-litre tank and 830 mm lowest seat height
// Wide selection of KTM PowerParts including accessories, aftermarket components, aesthetic touches, riding gear and more

For 2023 the KTM 390 ADVENTURE comes in two different choices: the ‘spoked wheeled’ edition and the version with cast wheels and black/orange or blue/orange colour scheme.
Price and availability to be confirmed.

Total Terrain Domination: Introducing The 2023 KTM Enduro Range

The 2023 KTM Enduro model range tears onto the trails with decades of championship-winning experience at the helm, bringing together a fresh and dynamic combination of race-bred performance, rider-focused ergonomics, and cutting-edge technology.

KTM has dominated Enduro competition for a number of decades, with the newest iteration of the 2023 KTM EXC and EXC-F models set to continue the trend. Boasting an updated design, orange-coated Chromoly steel frame, race-proven WP XPLOR suspension at each end, and real READY TO RACE credentials, the 2023 KTM Enduro range is the one to beat.

Offering the most extensive READY TO RACE competition Enduro lineup on the market, starting with the enduro underdog KTM 150 EXC 2-Stroke and topping out with the class-leading power KTM 500 EXC-F 4-Stroke, the 2023 KTM Enduro range caters to all riders and terrains.

New for 2023, an all-new graphic design and white, purple and orange colour scheme come together into a seamlessly blended palette. This colour scheme was specifically chosen by the designers to pay homage to the early ‘90s enduro models, setting the 2023 KTM Enduro range apart from anything else on the trails.

The looks are further emphasised with the use of a race-inspired orange-coated Chromoly steel frame. Not only does this echo the styling on full-factory race machines but provides the perfect backbone to set off the 2023 graphics pack.

In terms of engines, the 2-Stroke model range once again takes its place and is the leader in the paddock, making use of KTM’s patented Transfer Port Injection (TPI) technology. Not only has this ensured fewer emissions and fuel consumption but provides smooth and strong power delivery from the bottom right through to the top end of the rev-range.

The 4-Stroke model range provides the most concise offering of models, starting with the KTM 250 EXC-F and KTM 350 EXC-F and topping out with the powerhouses KTM 450 EXC-F and KTM 500 EXC-F. All models in the 4-Stroke range benefit from class-winning engines, engineered to deliver massive torque down low with class-leading power delivery at higher RPMs.

These are flanked by the ever-popular KTM EXC SIX DAYS range, which offers a special tribute to the upcoming 2022 FIM International Six Days Enduro in France, combining the very latest in innovation with an extensive list of race-derived parts as standard.

Every motorcycle in the range gets fully adjustable WP XPLOR suspension as standard, with the advantage of a Progressive Damping System (PDS) on the rear. The PDS layout – a staple across KTM EXC and EXC-F models, offers lower maintenance due to fewer moving parts, but provides more ground clearance, with less chance of hooking up when climbing logs or rocks.

As always, and thanks to KTM’s global network of dealers, the availability of support and parts needed to compete at the highest level are easily accessible, with the added availability of dedicated KTM PowerWear and KTM PowerParts designed to allow for the highest levels of performance, protection, and mobility for all offroad riders and racers.

The 2023 KTM Enduro range is derived from years at the top level of offroad racing and brings together a dynamic combination of race-bred performance, ergonomics and technology ready to tackle any terrain.

2023 KTM EXC and EXC-F models will be landing at dealer floors from May 2022, with full details available here.

Design Your Duke Contest – Hosted By Rok Bagoroš

Flex your creative muscles and #GETDUKED!

KTM is proud to announce the DESIGN YOUR DUKE CONTEST – a Pan-European READY TO RACE challenge to find the best KTM DUKE design amongst all Orange Bleeders. The project is supported by Vectary – an online 3D modeling software – which allows entrants to see their creations come to life in a virtual environment.

DUKE RIDERS STAND OUT FROM THE CROWD

Embracing the colorful KTM DUKE community, KTM offers a chance to rewrite the rulebook with a 100 % original design! The DESIGN YOUR DUKE CONTEST challenges European Orange Bleeders to flex their creative muscles by designing their very own, one-of-a-kind sticker kit to be applied on a KTM 125 DUKE, KTM 390 DUKE, KTM 890 DUKE, KTM 890 DUKE GP or KTM 890 DUKE R.

By following 4 easy steps to enter the contest, everyone with a tablet, laptop, or smartphone can start to create a READY TO RACE sticker kit design and make it come to life using Vectary 3D software.

The rightful owner of the DUKE DESIGNER podium will be chosen by Rok Bagoroš and KTM by the end of June, with the winner taking home a brand-new KTM DUKE, handed over in the hometown of the DUKE family – Mattighofen.

“DUKE riders want to stand out of the crowd, not only with the bike itself but also with the design. As individualization is important, we want to give the DUKE riders the opportunity to rewrite the rulebook with a 100% original one-of-a-kind design – done by themselves! We can’t wait to see the results!” Rok Bagoroš, KTM Factory Stunt Rider and DUKE Ambassador.

The competition takes place from April 21st to June 21st, 2022, with the winner announced on July 21st, 2022.

FROM 2D TO 3D – HOW A DESIGN COMES TO LIVE

A central landing page hosts all the information, rules, design templates, and the central software to render your very own design onto a 3D KTM DUKE model.

To create a unique experience, Vectary have tailored their proprietary 3D Studio App for the KTM DESIGN YOUR DUKE CONTEST as the central design interface to make every DUKE design a personalized experience. The 3D Studio App can be operated intuitively to view the 3D model from all sides and angles. Once happy with the result, entrants can finalize their entry into the contest simply by exporting pictures from the 3D Studio App and posting them on Instagram using the hashtag #DESIGNYOURDUKECONTEST.

“Collaborating with KTM on this project is a creative meeting of the minds. We are opening up the possibilities for design and customization by allowing the motorcycling community to view their creations on a very easily accessible 3D platform. This way, they can focus less on the technical know-how and more energy towards the creative process.” Michal Koor, Vectary CEO

2022 KTM 890 Duke GP – A New Duke Steps Into The Ring

The KTM 890 DUKE GP offers a unique GP-inspired livery, adding to the KTM 890 DUKE’s ultra-sharp street fighter image.

The KTM 890 DUKE GP presents a compact and well-balanced performance motorcycle made for riders who relish twisting country roads. It strikes the ideal balance between high performance and agility, with real-world riding demands and usability.

Making use of the astonishing LC8c parallel twin motor, the KTM 890 DUKE GP churns out a healthy 115 hp and 92 Nm. And with the LC8c being the most compact engine in this segment, it maintains the bragging rights of being the chosen platform for producing the most agile motorcycle in its class.

The same can be said about the overall design. The KTM 890 DUKE GP is aggressive in its stance, bristling with typical KTM design highlights and purposeful, compact proportions. Thanks in part to lightweight craftsmanship and advanced engineering, the KTM 890 DUKE GP is also one of the lightest motorcycles in its segment, with special attention given to the overall riding experience.

Agile and precise handling comes courtesy of geometry developed specifically for sporty street riding, meaning that the KTM 890 DUKE GP is all about handling. High quality WP APEX suspension at each end ensure a perfect connection with the road and promotes the ultimate riding confidence.

On the electronics front, the KTM 890 DUKE GP boasts one of the most advanced and complete packages in the midrange segment, including Cornering MTC with a 6D lean angle sensor that not only detects the side-to-side and forward-backward pitch, but also drift positioning.

The usual selection of ride modes – notably RAIN, STREET, SPORT, and the optional TRACK mode – ensure that the rider can individually tailor traction control, anti-wheelie control, and throttle control. These, and the usual staples of Cornering ABS, Supermoto ABS, a full-colour TFT display and LED lighting all-around make the KTM 890 DUKE GP a formidable opponent in any street fight.

For 2022, the KTM 890 DUKE GP joins the DUKE line-up as an exciting visual alternative, with a GP-derived livery and a loud KTM orange palette. Complete with a new passenger seat cover, adding to its aggressive styling, and ‘R’ style orange wheels, the KTM 890 DUKE GP proudly makes its intentions known.

With a new look to match its already legendary performance and character, the KTM 890 DUKE GP stands out even more.

A full range of specially developed KTM PowerParts has been created to further intensify your ride. A selected range of KTM PowerWear ensures that the rider can match the performance of the KTM 890 DUKE GP.

The 2022 KTM 890 DUKE GP will arrive on authorised KTM dealer floors from March 2022 onwards. For more information, visit ktm.com.

2022 KTM 890 Duke R – The Super Scalpel Gets a Sharp New Look

The KTM 890 DUKE R slices into the new model year with the all-new Atlantic Blue base colour lifted directly from its big brother, the KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE R.

Having been around since 2020, the KTM 890 DUKE R has proven itself to be the undisputed champion in the middleweight segment. Boasting an impressive 121 HP and 99 Nm of torque, it represents as a serious option for race-centric riders looking for agility, punch, and poise.

The KTM 890 DUKE R is dubbed THE SUPER SCALPEL on account of its lightning-fast steering geometry. Thanks to the load-bearing design of its tubular steel chassis and adjustable WP APEX suspension, it remains a no-compromise middleweight naked bike, equally at home on twisty mountain passes as it is on the racetrack, delivering more power, more torque, and more intense asphalt-carving agility than any other parallel twin in the segment.

While its forward momentum and agility are exemplary, the KTM 890 DUKE R also excels when slowing down. Front monoblock Brembo Stylema calipers grabbing meaty 320 mm discs on the front, along with an adjustable Brembo MCS master cylinder, mean that THE SUPER SCALPEL stops as quickly and precisely as it attacks apexes. A set of sticky Michelin Power Cup 2 tyres provides reliable grip on all asphalt surfaces in all weather conditions.

In terms of electronic wizardry, the KTM 890 DUKE R makes use of Cornering ABS and Cornering MTC (motorcycle traction control) with a 6D lean angle sensor that not only detects the side-to-side (roll) and forwards and backward (pitch) movements of the bike, but also the rotation of the bike on its vertical axis (yaw). This translates into comprehensive traction control management, accomplished by the use of a wheel slip control sensor and a pitch angle control sensor.

A selection of ride modes—namely RAIN, STREET, SPORT, and optional TRACK mode—ensure full rider customisation, nine levels of adjustable traction control slip, anti-wheelie on/off, and the additional throttle control setting.

The biggest difference is obvious: the KTM 890 DUKE R now features a premium hue of matt paint. Called ‘Atlantic Blue’, the color is reminiscent of the palate used on the KTM RC16 GP racer and recently the KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE R, adding to THE SUPER SCALPEL’s READY TO RACE demeanor. Typical of all KTM ‘R’ models, the signature orange frame continues to provide the perfect contrast of colors while strengthening the READY TO RACE presence.

With its new look to match its performance and character, the KTM 890 DUKE R once again promises to be a track-ready machine you’ll want to ride every day.

As always, a full range of specially created KTM PowerParts has been developed to personalize and further intensify your ride. A range of KTM PowerWear ensures the rider gets the most out of themself and boosts their READY TO RACE performance.

The 2022 KTM 890 DUKE R will arrive on authorized KTM dealer floors from February 2022 onwards. For more information, visit ktm.com.

KTM Bolsters New KTM 390 Adventure

KTM bolsters new KTM 390 adventure with more free-roaming spirit for adventurers of all demands.

Receiving selected key upgrades in its 2022 trim, the KTM 390 ADVENTURE is here to let every biker go out and adventure even more. No matter the rockiness of the mountain pass, the length of the wilderness trail or the demands of daily mileage, the new KTM 390 ADVENTURE is a highly capable and exhilarating exploration companion every step of the way.

Setting the benchmark in the smaller cylinder segment for outstanding power-to-weight, technology, and riding agility, the KTM 390 ADVENTURE is getting a fresh look and some key upgrades for 2022 that bring it closer than ever before to the full range of larger-displacement KTM ADVENTURE machines.

Further enhancing its potential to take riders to places far beyond the ordinary paths, the 2022 model’s extensive list of electronic features has been amplified with the addition of STREET and OFFROAD modes for Traction Control. Selecting OFFROAD from STREET will give the KTM a degree of rear wheel slip to enable even easier use of the bike in loose or wet terrain.

The KTM 390 ADVENTURE can be taken and pushed to the extreme and – if the conditions momentarily get the better of the rider – the OFFROAD TC will remain activated in the event of a brief stall or fall. The additional Traction Control capabilities mean it’s easier to get even more exploratory, allowing the KTM 390 ADVENTURE to consolidate its spot as the segment leader in terms of technology and electronic features.

Allowing riders to reach new extremes, KTM has given the 2022 KTM 390 ADVENTURE a set of even more robust cast wheels. The construction of the components is based around five spokes instead of six and this configuration permits increased stiffness and resistance for the rims.

For 2022, the visual identity of the KTM 390 ADVENTURE is bringing it even closer to the race-winning machines in the dunes and deserts around the globe. Available in two distinct color versions, both options highlight the sharp lines of KTM’s ultra-versatile adventurer.

Curious and skilled riders can also find all their requirements and juice at the throttle of the 2022 KTM 390 ADVENTURE. To prove the point, KTM enlisted the help of multi-time Baja winner Quinn Cody and world traveler Paolo Cattaneo to provide the ultimate verdict from their own weekend adventure here.

Enviable power is provided by the state-of-the-art, single cylinder, 4-stroke Euro5 motor hitting 43 hp and 37 Nm of torque. Additionally, the frame is based on the knowledge collected from millions of race kilometers for the right blend of flex, stability and control in straight line performance.

The bike’s famed agility is combined with the carefully considered ergonomics that place the rider right in the heart of the bike’s movements. The 2022 KTM 390 ADVENTURE can be steered like an offroader as much as it can flip into cruise for longer highway stretches, and the new look through the colors and graphics mean that the aesthetic is as sharp as the attributes.

KTM 390 ADVENTURE – HIGHLIGHTS
// Enhanced electronics as standard & OFFROAD TC for added adventuring potential
// Stronger and more resistant wheels for tougher riding
// 43 hp and 37 Nm of torque through the latest Euro5 crafted engine
// Segment-leading electronics incl. lean-angle sensitive ABS and TC
// Dakar Rally-proven chassis architecture and settings

// 14.5 l fuel tank for excellent range and possible 400 km with one fill

// Brand new graphics and fresh look for both 2022 colour versions

The full current range of KTM PowerParts allows the 2022 KTM 390 ADVENTURE to be compatible for customisation or to be beefened for even more resistance away from the beaten tracks.

Expand Your Hunting Ground On The 2022 KTM 1290 Super Duke GT

As one of the torquiest motorcycles in the segment, one could argue that the 2022 KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE GT doesn’t move across the earth – it simply spins the ground beneath it to help you reach your destination…

In a segment that necessitates comfort and the ability to cover ground effortlessly, the KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE GT rewrites the rulebook. Designed to offer riders a unique Grand Touring experience, but engineered to be a true Sports bike underneath the touring parts, the KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE GT covers ground unlike any Sports Tourer on the market.

Thanks to its EURO 5 rated, 175 HP, 141 Nm KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE R-derived, 1,301 cc V-twin engine, this is the class leader when it comes to punching a hole in the atmosphere or hauling in the horizon. But it’s not only forward momentum where the long-distance BEAST is true to its namesake.

The WP APEX semi-active suspension on the KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE GT works with a specific logic. The design approach to preload adjustability of the rear shock has been geared for the long-distance tourer and is very intuitive. The logic allows riders to set the suspension up according to four different real-life riding situations, namely: RIDER, RIDER & PILLION, RIDER & LUGGAGE, or RIDER, PILLION & LUGGAGE. On top of that, an anti-dive function is fitted as standard.

A new 7 inch-TFT display allows for quick and easy ride adjustment on the fly, thanks to a newly designed layout striking the perfect balance between information and style. The set-up is completed by the new robust switchgear that not only feels premium but also allows for intuitive interaction between the rider and the dash itself.

The wheels on the 2022 KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE GT have been lifted from the latest KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE R. These boast a weight saving of 1 kg of unsprung mass over the old set of rims; this not only improves the overall handling but also sports a more aggressive wheel design.

These all-new lightweight wheels are wrapped in new rubber, namely Continental ContiSportAttack 4. The ContiSportAttack 4 boasts a sportier and a more stable riding experience, delivering on the demand for a sportier tire to match the KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE GT’s versatile abilities.

The KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE GT will also debut an all-new navigation system called Turn-by-turn PLUS that will further enhance the touring experience. TBT+ will be available via KTMconnect. This allows navigation instructions to be projected directly on the new 7-inch TFT display, helping riders navigate more effectively. Turn-by-turn PLUS (TBT+) will be launched on the 2022 KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE GT, with roll-outs to other models in the near future.

Powered by SYGIC®, TBT+ can also operate offline, allowing riders to plan their journey and adventure from remote locations, with the NAVIGATION feature using industry-standard mapping to guide riders to their destination of choice. There’s also an advanced search feature, and a diverse range of POIs (including gas stations, restaurants, rest stops), while the system lets you select one of your pre-saved destinations directly from the TFT dash. All the above features can be accessed directly from the new 7-inch TFT dash, while the rider no longer needs to remove their phone from the jacket pocket, making it more convenient and efficient for those quick on-the-fly changes.

The new system also allows for waypoints to be skipped without prompting a turnaround. The system will merely recalculate and find the next available route to get you back on track. Also, the last 10 destinations searched are automatically saved and available directly on the dashboard.

2022 KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE GT – HIGHLIGHTS
// Updated, EURO 5 LC8 V-twin
// 23-litre tank
// Lightweight wheels saving nearly 1 kg of unsprung mass
// All-new 7” TFT dashboard
// Turn-by-turn PLUS Navigation (TBT+)
// New handlebar switches
// Continental ContiSportAttack 4

2022 KTM 1290 Super Duke R and 1290 Super Duke R Evo

2022 KTM 1290 Super Duke R and KTM 1290 Super Duke R Evo – The Beast, Evolved.

The ever-popular KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE R roars into 2022 with a new brace of colorways and brings second generation WP APEX semi-active suspension along for the ride with a new EVO derivative.

KTM’s flagship street motorcycle underwent its most radical re-invention in 2020, boasting a number of tweaks and engineering improvements. The 2020 KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE R underwent dramatic weight savings with a reworked LC8 engine. The electronics package has also been updated, making THE BEAST one of the most technologically advanced naked motorcycles in the segment.

For the model year 2022, KTM has launched a new incarnation of the KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE R that delivers exactly what riders asked for.

Dubbed the KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE R EVO and drawing on the KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE R’s already legendary status among riders, the EVO brings more tech to the fore, adding 2nd generation WP APEX semi-active suspension from WP.

With new Semi-Active Technology (SAT), the KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE R EVO retains its class-leading hyper-naked ferocity but gains an even wider range of usability. This allows THE BEAST to go from a comfortable rocket on poor road surfaces to a hardened track-ready apex-splitting weapon – at a simple click of a switch.

Three different damping modes – COMFORT, STREET, SPORT – are available as standard.

In addition, the spring preload of the rear suspension can be set via the TFT menu to up to 20 mm in 10 steps, depending on the requirements of the rider. In this case, the adjustability setting ranges from 0 per cent to 100 per cent , in 10 per cent or 2mm increments.

In addition to the standard suspension settings, the optional SUSPENSION PRO package offers three more damping modes, namely TRACK, ADVANCED, and AUTO.

– TRACK provides the stiffest available setting developed internally by KTM test riders to provide the ideal setting for track days and specifically for faster race tracks where you need additional support under hard braking.
– ADVANCED allows the rider to select the level of damping for the fork and shock on a scale from 1 to 8. This suits more technical riders who are looking for the smallest marginal gains and want to fine-tune and tailor their suspension settings for their riding styles.
– AUTO is the most intelligent of the trio and is capable of detecting different riding styles and automatically adapting the suspension damping, being softer and more comfortable when cruising through the city, and harder and more focused when riding aggressively on a fast mountain pass. This auto adjustment between modes happens almost instantly without any interference in the ride.

SUSPENSION PRO also offers three automatic preload auto-leveling settings – LOW, STANDARD, and HIGH. In this instance, the suspension is able to adjust the preload automatically in accordance with the weight of the rider and recreate three defined geometries:
– AUTO-STANDARD: neutral and balanced geometry.
– AUTO-LOW: relaxed, less aggressive, more comfortable geometry, with a lower seat height.
– AUTO-HIGH: aggressive, agile track attack geometry, with a more loaded front end.

Another optional feature on SUSPENSION PRO is an anti-diving setting that keeps the front-end high under hard braking. As with most electronic functions, it can of course be switched off if desired.

The KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE R and KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE R EVO continue to feature the RAIN, STREET, SPORT, and optional TRACK and PERFORMANCE ride modes, affording riders improved feedback about what the engine is doing, with less intrusive traction control and anti-wheelie mitigation. Selecting any of the above settings can be performed on the fly.

Throttle response is given a further boost with the addition of a new quick-turn throttle twist grip, reduced by 7 degrees to 65 degrees. KTM R&D developed this solution not only to offer a faster and more responsive throttle, but also to reduce the rider wrist angle as well as the elbow drop at full throttle.

In terms of looks, the KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE R and KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE R EVO retain an aggressive street presence but introduce two new colorways. A familiar blue and orange livery is flanked by an all-new silver and orange, which complement the aggressive and hard-hitting appeal of the KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE R. The signature KTM orange frame – reserved only for KTM ‘R’ models – and hot orange wheels give a visible warning to competitors: this BEAST is ready to attack.

A full range of specially created KTM PowerParts has been developed to personalize and further intensify your ride. A dedicated range of KTM PowerWear ensures the rider can give everything they’ve got and boosts their READY TO RACE performance.

The 2022 KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE R and KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE R EVO will arrive on authorized KTM dealer floors from January 2022 onwards. For more information, visit ktm.com.

KTM’s New Generation Of WP Apex Semi Active Suspension Smooths The Way

‘Better’ and ‘easier’ are two words that will capture the interest of any rider. KTM has forged the most technically advanced semi-active technology (SAT) suspension for select flagship models: the new, innovative system, produced in collaboration with WP Suspension and specialists like Bosch, is another example of how KTM’s elite STREET bikes are able to pull away from the competition. The software and hardware offer peerless variable damping so that handling can be more sensitive, reactive, and customisable.

‘Easier’: Long gone are the days where a tape measure, tools, or even a visit to a specialised suspension workshop were necessary to maximise the feeling and setting of a bike. Through KTM’s large and well-designed TFT displays, semi-active technology (SAT) can be selected and modified with a few simple touches of a button. Riders can alter the height, response and general behavior to suit any road condition and the changes are outlined with useful graphics that demonstrate the effect of each mode and option. It’s another mark of KTM’s STREET development principles and versatility that the whole process is both a cinch for beginners and detailed enough for the most grizzled veteran.

KTM’s latest SAT offers three damping modes – COMFORT, STREET, and SPORT – with defined levels of compression and rebound depending on how and where the KTM will be ridden. The spring preload on the rear shock can be tweaked through 10 steps, from 0-100%.

Buying the optional SUSPENSION PRO pack opens the possibilities even wider with three further configurations: TRACK, AUTO, and ADVANCED, on a KTM that begs for some smooth asphalt throttle-abuse. There is also OFFROAD (instead of TRACK) for a machine like the KTM 1290 SUPER ADVENTURE S. The sophistication of the system means that the SAT will use the fantastically fast readings of the 6D lean angle sensor, the suspension control unit, and various other sensors to react instantly and smoothly to the rider’s demands in AUTO. ADVANCED allows the rider to flick through 8 levels of front and rear damping on the TFT.

SUSPENSION PRO provides three preload auto-leveling settings which are LOW, STANDARD, and HIGH. The suspension will consider the weight of the rider, a pillion, and any baggage, and then self-adjust. It will also conveniently recreate three defined geometries. STANDARD is neutral and balanced. LOW is less aggressive and relaxed. HIGH is more aggressive, loading the front for an ‘attack’ setting and even more agility.

The technology’s ability to make its own calculations and adjustments is one prominently cool facet of the new SAT. It can all be done on the move and while in the saddle. Another feature made available by SUSPENSION PRO is the anti-dive functionality. It keeps the front end high for stability and improves pillion comfort under braking. Once riders have felt and tasted SAT, it’s hard to go back.

‘Better’: KTM has achieved these SAT parameters due to new magnetic valves, new programming, and refinement of the 6D sensor and stroke sensors, and the very latest version of WP Suspension’s 48mm front fork and hydraulic rear shock. The combination of this technology brings sensitive real-time readings from the road or path directly to the heart of the suspension control unit and the bike re-aligns instantaneously, depends on what the rider wants from their KTM.

Focusing on the hardware in particular, the WP APEX SAT fork boasts more ‘conventional’ damping but still with all the advantages of the range offered by an electric valve. This has been made possible thanks to the new design that permits faster relay of signals and the deployment of more efficient pulse-width modulation sensors. The WP APEX SAT shock spans 140 to 200 mm of travel depending on the KTM model and has an oil/gas body construction. Another new sensor optimises the self-preload adjustment, which is key in the setting and regulation of the sag and balance geometry.

The most recent generation of KTM’s SAT development has allowed the brand to again set the benchmark for standard specs on the motorcycle market. KTM has been able to revitalize the enticing bond between the invigorating sensation of power, torque, and handling on two wheels with cutting-edge sophistication and control. ‘Easier’? ‘Better’? KTM won’t stop here, with Naked November already on the horizon, look out for two new models that will be unleashed. These new creations will combine the brute power of the V-twin with the very latest technology.

KTM’s LC8 continues to drive the next generation

The never-ending tap of torque: KTM’s LC8 continues to drive the next generation

KTM’s versatile and peerless LC8 engine platform is a technical marvel. The V-twin powerplant remains the sole motor of its type on the motorcycle market to equip Naked Bikes, Sport Tourers, and Travel machines. Entering the third decade of the century, the LC8 still provides the best torque in the naked bike segment, awesome low to mid-range punch, and unrivalled fuel efficiency. The LC8 instils that distinctive KTM character through power delivery that both exhilarates and reassures riders.

Few people knew that KTM were throttling something special on the dyno back in the factory’s R&D department towards the end of the last century. In 2003 they finally took away the covers and unveiled the very first KTM 950 ADVENTURE with the growling V-twin LC8 as the vibrant force at its center.

Two years on, mass production of the distinctive KTM 990 SUPER DUKE cemented the LC8’s stature and since then it has been mined, refined, improved, and re-invented. It initially provided the rasping performance for the KTM RC8 and then the expansive output needed for the superlative KTM SUPER ADVENTUREs and the gut-wrenching torque and fun of the KTM 1290 SUPER DUKEs. A bike labelled THE BEAST simply must have rhythm and thunder in its soul.

The LC8 is perhaps best known for its 1301cc 75-degree V-twin inside the KTM 1290 SUPER DUKE R, where luckily advances with electronics mean that cornering motorcycle traction control (Cornering MTC) and anti-wheelie can help tame some of the 140 Nm of torque. The hype is not only about the LC8’s current 180 hp and eye-watering top speed. It’s about the reams of bottom-end grunt that gives each KTM STREET and ADVENTURE model such a strong identity. The LC8 allows KTMs of a certain breed to be completely READY TO RACE but the practicality – and synergy with KTM’s latest generations of ride modes and aids – permit a range of character: from docile dependability to long-range reliability thanks to 15,000 km service intervals. The LC8 can breathe fire on the track or pull anyone up the side of a mountain, scaling all manner of obstacles on the way.

2021 saw a significant chapter in the evolution of the LC8 as the engine was converted to meet Euro5 emissions regulations. KTM engineers were fully convinced by the potential of the technology and their own R&D skill to re-invent the LC8 for a fresh era and to maintain the unique READY TO RACE brutality. The development came through dedicated work with valve and exhaust system efficiency as the LC8 shape-shifted once more. To also shed over 1.5 kg of weight at the same time further enforced the engine’s position as one of the lightest and fiercest motors in any motorcycle dealership. The newest form of the LC8’s architecture included thinner engine cases, new pistons for even better longevity, a new oil line, twin spark ignition and titanium inlet values, new air intakes and more, all helping to trim kilos and retain key power figures.

The result? Naked bike riders can profit from the improved handling, stability, and output, while also knowing a small twist of the throttle would both drop jaws and open minds. Sports Tourers and Adventurers have the same thrilling access to power, performance, and weight, as well as the reassurance that the bike would be able to take them wherever and whenever without qualm.

Versatility was also paramount. In recent long-term tests conducted by the factory, with almost double service intervals accumulated – touching 30,000km – the LC8 of a KTM 1290 SUPER ADVENTURE S spent nearly 40 per cent of this period running at under 3,500 rpm. This means that the LC8’s torque and efficiency in the low rev range was essential for nearly half of the total distance covered. The total usability and generosity of the LC8 was also highlighted by the fact that just 1 per cent of the test distance was spent above 6,500 rpm. KTM therefore remain steadfast in their conviction of the V-twin architecture and its benefits. No matter the road, pass, or trail, whatever the conditions, whatever the demands, the LC8 is primed for the challenge.

Looking ahead, and to future incarnations of the KTM SUPER DUKEs and SUPER ADVENTUREs, the LC8 will be the envy of everyone on the tarmac or the trail for a long while to come.

Adriaan Sinke, Head of Motorcycle Product Management: “As we come up to almost twenty years of the LC8 we felt it’s important to highlight how important and just how impressive this piece of engineering has been for both our R&D and of course some of the flagship bikes in our portfolio. Our goal was to have one of the lightest but most powerful V-twins on the market and the fact that we’ve been able to turn to the LC8’s basic outline again and again, flip it around and still push it to new limits is testament to its brilliance. Riders are mostly using all that amazing low-end torque that the LC8 generates: that’s another strong asset and such a mark of KTM’s DNA. We’re looking forward to bringing riders and KTM petrolheads many more visions of how we can use the LC8 in the years ahead.”

KTM’S ‘Naked November’ Throws Off The Covers On Thrilling New Models

Setting the benchmark when it comes to introducing ground-breaking technology across its product portfolio, KTM has been setting and breaking records in both the sales front and in its rapid rate of new model releases. With a clear focus on some key innovative technological features, KTM’s Naked November will be highlighted by the introduction of a selection of thrilling new motorcycles.

KTM never rests on its laurels and the goal is to make riding safer, faster. For this KTM is continuously developing groundbreaking technology and rider aids, but without disconnecting the riders from their machine. KTM acknowledges that each rider is different and that’s why each KTM machine offers a multitude of personalisation and customisation options.

The first sensations of twisting a KTM throttle – those first moments when it’s impossible to suppress that massive grin – must be matched with the technology and innovation. The goal is to ensure that the thrill of riding a KTM is linked with all-around rider reward. To this end, KTM bikes ‘stretch the envelope’ to breaking point when it comes to the latest software and hardware on the motorcycle market.

For almost 20 years the ferocious and versatile KTM LC8 motor has been propelling the most iconic KTM machines. From the Dakar Rally-winning machines of the early 2000s to the segment-leading Travel and Naked models in KTM’s updated line-up, the iconic V-Twin engine has left a big mark in the motorcycle industry. The powerhouse engine continues to thrive and will now be at the heart of a selection of brand-new creations and fresh incarnations of THE BEAST.

To help keep this brute power to the ground in all conditions, KTM has been working on evolving its technology. This allows even the average rider to tame THE BEAST. One of the recent technological developments is the second generation of WP APEX Semi-Active suspension: the introduction of the new SAT allows for more flexibility while riding. Riders are able to tailor their setup, whether it being for the long unbeaten road that lies ahead or thrashing out lap times on the race track.

To learn more about the above technology and all the revolutionary features that KTM has to offer, stay tuned for the release of the KTM Tech Guide; a comprehensive and educational platform that will be launched on ktm.com on November 9. Leading the charge within the KTM Tech Guide will be the legendary LC8, the driving force behind so many flagship models at KTM.

The release will be followed with an in-depth look at what makes the second generation of WP APEX Semi-Active suspension a must-have on November 11.

At KTM we don’t like to tease, but with ‘Naked November’ around the corner we wanted to get your engines revving, with new models lining up behind closed doors, which are about to burst wide open. When?

Coming on November 16:
Two incarnations of THE BEAST are about to take centre stage, which all have the attributes of the complete Naked bike. Popular demand, sophistication and better performance means we’re ready to let something more out of the cage.

Arriving on November 23:
All powerful and practical and KTM-style; for some this 2022 model will be the definition of how KTM blurs the segments of the motorcycle industry.

Keep that helmet in your hands, your new ride is about to be unleashed!
