Akrapovič Introduces the Latest Innovations for the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R 1Akrapovič has launched its latest range of innovative exhaust systems for the 2016 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R with designs strongly inspired by the exhausts used by Tom Sykes and Jonathan Rea during the machine’s 2015 World Superbike Championship–winning season.

The Akrapovič Evolution Line (Carbon) is a full system designed to deliver an impressive increase in power across the entire rev range while also improving torque delivery and decreasing weight by over 5 kg. Constructed from a high-grade and race-proven lightweight titanium alloy and finished with a hand-crafted carbon-fibre hexagonal muffler and endcap – inspired by Jonathan Rea’s 2015 WorldSBK winning machine – this system is beautifully designed to blend in seamlessly with bike’s striking appearance while still making a statement that this Akrapovič system means business. With a power increase in excess of 16 HP (12.1 kW), the Evolution Line also delivers a unique deeper, sporty sound to enhance its racing heritage. With the option of a carbon-fibre muffler bracket to further complement the entire system, the Evolution Line is certainly the complete package to improve the performance and appearance of the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R.

The Racing Line (Carbon) is a full stainless-steel exhaust system with a beautifully finished hexagonal carbon-fibre muffler sleeve with titanium inner parts and a carbon-fibre endcap. Delivering a huge increase in power and torque across the entire rev range, the Racing Line is a performance system designed to give the rider the true spirit of a race-bred exhaust. With an improved deeper sporty sound, the Racing Line system sounds just as good as it looks. An option to add a carbon-fibre muffler bracket is available to complement the beautiful finish of this impressive system.

Akrapovič has also launched two Slip-On Line exhausts as an initial step in the exhaust tuning process. The carbon-fibre version of the Slip-On Line is an EC-ECE type-approved exhaust that provides an increase in both power and torque across the entire rpm range and a reduction in weight. With a hexagonal muffler and endcap finished in hand-crafted high-quality carbon fibre, and titanium pipes and muffler inner parts, the Slip-On Line looks every bit of the race exhaust that inspired its creation. The exhaust can be further enhanced with the addition of the optional titanium link-pipe to increase performance, and a further addition to improve the exhaust’s appearance can be achieved by adding the optional carbon-fibre muffler bracket.

The Slip-On Line (Titanium) exhaust is aimed directly at markets where EC-ECE type approval is not valid. With an increase in power and torque, coupled with a weight savings, the titanium version of the Slip-On Line is a step up in performance. Designed with a short conical muffler for an enhanced racing appearance and finished with a carbon-fibre endcap, the Slip-On Line also offers a unique sharper racing sound that is tuned to intensify the whole experience. An optional titanium link-pipe is also available, designed to take the exhaust tuning process to the next step.

An optional titanium link-pipe is offered for both Slip-On Line exhausts, developed to provide an increase in power and torque and create an even more linear curve across the entire performance spectrum, coupled with a decrease in weight by more than 4 kg. When installed on the Slip-On Line (Carbon), the sound also becomes louder to boost the senses, and when added to the Slip-On Line (Titanium) the unique tone produces the loudest sound available, displaying the exhaust’s true racing spirit. When fitting the link pipe to the Slip-On Line exhaust, the bike’s ECU must be remapped.

The latest range of innovative Akrapovič lightweight exhaust products will take the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R to even greater performance levels, all the while increasing aesthetic and aural levels to make the bike an even greater pleasure in every area.

Wunderlich Cruise Control for BMW R nineT

Make R nineT cruising less wrist-averse

An inexpensive and practical alternative to electronic systems, Wunderlich’s new Cruise Control makes long stretches on the R nineT a lot less taxing on the wrist.

Quick and easy to install, using only basic tools, the Cruise Control system is housed in a replacement aluminium handlebar weight, which fits neatly and simply in place of the original – no drilling or cutting of the bars or twistgrip required and no fiddly wiring installation either.

The rider operates the Cruise Control by rotating the built-in adjustment wheel forwards, applying a small amount of pressure to the twistgrip.

Adding light pressure to the Cruise Control slows the return of the twistgrip and takes the strain off the wrist and hand. By adding more pressure, the control is held in position, to set a desired speed/throttle opening. To release, the rider simply rotates the mechanism backwards.

Teeth on the adjustment wheel make it easier for gloved fingers to grip it firmly and allow for fine adjustment. The control mechanism is Teflon-mounted for smoothness and to prevent sticking or tight spots.

The shape of the weight is like the original factory-fitted item on the left side, so a symmetrical appearance is retained. The Wunderlich R nineT Cruise Control is available at the introductory price of £75.00 and comes complete with full fitting and operating instructions.

SW-Motech set up the Street for the Open Road

Combining Daytona 675 performance with an upright riding position, Triumph’s Street Triple Rx has the potential to cover some serious miles, but stripped-out street bike styling offers little concession to carrying capacity. Now, thanks to SW Motech’s comprehensive luggage range, owners can choose from a wide range of bags.

The Blaze® Pannier system uses a clever ‘Quick-Lock’ mounting rail, which clamps to the footrest hangers, securing the bags without extra straps/bungees. The rails can be removed in seconds, leaving only the discrete clamps behind. The Panniers are made from 1680 Ballistic-Nylon, with a stiff construction to help maintain shape. They expand from 28 to 42-litre capacity (per pair), and come with waterproof inner bags. Price: £190.96 including VAT.

A cover is a must for any motorcycle left outside, helping to protect against the weather, dirt and spray from passing vehicles, bird droppings and harmful UV rays, (not to mention unwanted attention!)

Protect panniers and paint from a pummelling

Getting a leg over larger touring and dual sport machines often ends with boots catching panniers, the resulting scuffs and scratches making them look very second-hand.

Today’s hard luggage is often colour-matched to the bike’s bodywork or with a fine alloy-finish, and it doesn’t take much contact to cause damage.

Exclusive to BMW accessory specialist Nippy Normans, Paint Protector Kits help stop those scuffs and scratches. Each kit contains self-adhesive films, cut to fit each machine and designed to be invisible when fitted (the film has been greyed in the images for visibility).

Although just 100 micrometers thick, the material is tough and flexible, designed to shield surfaces from accidental damage caused by boots, and the zips, poppers and clips found on bike clothing. They can also help to shield from scuffs and scratches caused by straps, bungee cords and items of luggage strapped on pannier lids.

Highly adhesive, but easily removable without leaving a trace, tested from -40°C to 90°C and weather/UV-proof, the films will stay protective for between 5–7 years.

CNCRacing rearsets for Ducati Monster 821-1200

CNC Racing’s wish is to offer the largest number of special components for Ducati bikes. For this reason, it has strived to make footrests for the Ducati Monster 821, Ducati Monster 1200 and 1200S, in both Sport and Touring versions.

The two footrests, machined from solid in one bloc, differentiate because of the more comfortable housing for the passenger’s footrests obtained with an extension (Touring) rather than the pivoted version (Sport).

As usual, CNC Racing offers a wide range of adjustments for the driver footrests with two positions for the footrest that can be also adjusted in height and moved back in comparison with the original configuration.

The footrests are to be used with the traditional gearbox and the gearshift lever and brake lever are fixed with a double-bearing arrangement.

Both the gearshift lever and brake lever can be adjusted with a slide with a very wide range (-20mm / +15mm in comparison with the standard configuration).

Billed as a perfect all-rounder, the 1050cc triple will benefit from the additional shielding from wind blast provided by a double bubble screen and protection from grit and grime afforded by a rear hugger.

Manufactured in the UK from tough 3mm acrylic sheet, the double bubble is based on the race-proven Skidmarx screens, creating an air pocket to give the rider greater protection at high speed. Designed as a direct replacement for the original screen, the double bubble is simple to fit and sells for £54.95 in a choice of clear and tinted finishes. Skidmarx also produce a Tall Screen, approximately 10cm longer than the original, that re-directs air flow higher over the bike. It sells for £45.95 in a similar colour range to the double bubble.

Matching headlight protectors, also made from acrylic, cost £22.25. They are easily fitted using 3M™ Dual Lock™ fixing pads, which are included in the price. Only clear headlight covers are legal to use on the road, but other tints/colours are available for display purposes or off road use only.

The rear hugger is manufactured in the UK from GRP glass fibre, with a gel coat finish in a choice of black, red or white. Supplied complete with a bike-specific fitting kit produced for the Tiger’s single-sided swinging arm; no modification or drilling is required. For riders who need to keep weight to an absolute minimum, a carbon fibre version is available, weighing approximately 1/3rd less than the GRP version. R&G Launches Range of Boot Guards

Made from the same material as R&G’s popular Tank Traction Grips, the new range of R&G Boot Guards are specifically designed to protect swingarms and frames from boot scuffs.

The unique material has been developed to be durable, providing the rider with a protective buffer between the boot and the exposed areas of the swingarm or frame. This is a key area which frequently comes into contact with the rider during cornering, causing wear and unwanted damage to the swingarm, frame and boot.

Each R&G Boot Guard kit is supplied with precision pre-cut adhesives, typically in either two or four pieces, depending on the shape of the swingarm or frame. The high-strength adhesive backing ensures the highly durable product will remain exactly where it is placed, not affecting or damaging the paintwork.

Each kit also includes a 25mm-diameter, round sticker which sits in a pre-cut space on one of the component guards on each side. A cleaning wipe is also supplied to make sure the surface the Boot Guard is sticking to is clean prior to adhesion, ensuring it does not peel off.

R&G also offers universal kits for using where there is no bespoke application listed. These kits can consist of a sheet to be cut by the customer, or pre-cut, shaped sheets which can be applied straight onto the bike.

German engineering specialists SW Motech have introduced a comprehensive range of accessories for the latest incarnation of Triumph’s 800XC/XCx/XCa adventure bike, helping owners to tailor the Tiger for any journey.

CARRYING CAPABILITY:

A tough, spacious and versatile luggage system is a must for any traveller, so SW Motech have developed a complete aluminium pannier and rack kit, tailored for the XC. Their Trax Adventure Panniers are made from tough, lightweight, powder-coated aluminum. Carefully designed to sit neatly around the Tiger’s tail and exhaust system, they add minimal width, but hold a whopping 82 litres of kit. Shaped for increased ground clearance when cornering, TraX panniers feature glass reinforced plastic corner caps to protect against knocks and scuffs, both on and off the bike.
